This is the best Indian food I have experienced in Brooklyn, and we have tried MANY places.I lived in Woodside & Jackson Heights Queens for almost a decade, which is indisputably the best Indian food in New York City. When I moved back to Brooklyn I was a little bummed about missing good Indian food. But then we found this place. Its the best I have found in BK!
Simply the best! I have been eating here for the better part of a decade. It is the best Indian food in Brooklyn! I love the paneer tikka masala, sag paneer, baklava, salted lassi, cheese poori…really anything I’ve ever had there. Everything is always hot, fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Great delivery as well as dine in.
One of the worst 👎restaurant i have been to.food is gross🤮 I Dont mean to be personal but service they provide is more terrible than the food itself but tbh waitress over there she was pretty good, interactive and sweet. She knows all the food can explain very well and knows what she is doing. 🙂Its not good for dine in environment at all. I been eating and people pass coughing and talking. They dont even care there are customers eating and having their time. 😞Talking about cleanliness oh gosh😖!!!anyways i strongly wont recommend this kind of restaurant to food fund people and all others to go there to ruin your mood because its a complete waste of your time and money.🙄
This place is an unassuming gem. Best Indian food I’ve had in Brooklyn and I’ve been searching. Before you even order oftentimes you will receive a beautiful tomato lentil soup on the house and sometimes veggie pakora. The entrees I’ve had are incredible as well. Also open late night..you can’t beat it. My go-to for Indian food, very highly recommend!!!
The food here is very tasty but my last experience with them was really off. There was a big mixup with my order where they only delivered the drinks but not the food. The delivery guy was VERY creepy and kept looking me up and down several times when I came to the door.
Butter Chicken it is, is my favorite Indian dish, I usually get it from any Indian restaurant I visit. This one I can say is excellent in taste as to other places. I came here with a few friends for a night and we all loved it. It is not my average 10.00 lunch though. It was $25.00 for the Butter Chicken with 3 garlic naans, enough for 2 people. I really dont know of many different Indian dishes, however, I can always get it right with Butter Chicken.
My favorite Indian place for eat-in and take-out. The service at the restaurant is fantastic and included complimentary appetizers. Takeout is always timely, hot, exactly what I ordered and most importantly, delicious. When moving apartments, I made sure I was still in the Taj Kabab King delivery radius.
I ordered samosa and baklava from this place omg its so horrible...samosa was so awful oil was dripping down from it and it was literally tasteless. I have never had such awful baklava in my life it was staled, so unhealthy, I wish I could give negative stars in review. Never ever gonna order from this place again
I think my relationship with Taj Kabab King has lasted longer than my relationship with any other institution in my life other than federal and state governments. Their food delicious and unpretentious. They have always been fast and reliable (even when I lived in Gramercy and LES and not, as I do now, a few blocks away). I consider them my benchmark for good food in New York.
Very surprising, just read the reviews. the last two reviews seems written intentionally to defame the customer service as well as restaurant . I visit the place frequently. As a Bangali customer they take good care, behave very well even they make the dish special for me. They are very caring for all the customer, this is the reason they have been running the business successfully since 2010.if those reviews were true, they had to close the restaurant right after they started.I would suggest customers that do visit the place, you will find the best customer service
Delicious !We 3 french girls came to eat at this indian restaurant and we were so well served, really taken care of. So much food for a very reasonable price, we had to take doggy bags as we didn’t even eat half ! They were adorable, it was very fast-served, the restaurant is small but very typical indian so quite cute !Very surprised to see some negative comments, I suggest eating at the restaurant itself rather than complaining about delivery !Thank you for your adorable service ⭐️
Waited for more than 50 minutes for the food (ordered through grubhub). Spent most of my lunch break on the phone and on chat with the restaurant and grubhub. The guy on the phone was telling me that they are having too many orders (?!). I told him that this is unacceptable answer and experience so he told me go order from somewhere else, i have many other customers. SHOCKED! Even if their food is amazing, businesses should not take for granted their individuals and customers.
I went here for the first time the other day on a friends recommendation.Delicious food - I dont think Ive ever had Indian food that I didnt like, but this was far better than most. Very attentive, kind, and fast service. Highly recommend. The spicy dishes are not for the faint of heart
I used to dig this place for years both dine in & take out but our last experience was super disappointing. Acknowledging that most of their business is take out, when you eat in you have to be prepared to experience a bit of foot traffic, delivery guys walking in and out quite frequently. However on Sunday, 6 delivery guys where standing around in the back of the restaurant (place is small) by the kitchen entrance/restrooms, talking loudly and constantly walking back and forth between smoking cigarettes outside and loudly talking inside/on phone. It felt like a train station and we where actually the only customers in there at that point. This wasnt by far the worst of it. Our server had a cold and kept pulling up snot, coughing and picking his nose. I was so disgusted by him constantly snorting his snot back up his nose (instead of simply using a tissue), we requested boxes to take our food to go and left to finish our dinner at home. Needless to say I have first symptoms of a cold today with a cough and sore throat. This is so gross and simplest service industry rule number one, DON NOT COME TO WORK WHEN YOU ARE SICK, you spread is to dozens of people through food handling!Extra bummer: the rice was undercooked (absolute first for me in an indian restaurant). Another last bummer, my husband is allergic to almonds and we had slices almonds sprinkled over both our dishes, after we intentionally ordered none of the sauces that contain almonds. Unfortunately will never be back. :/
Indian eats, open until 2:45 am, pretty straightforward! We go late & the service is always fast & extra accommodating (although Im sure it helps my wife is Nepali). They have plenty of vegetarian & vegan options, favorites being the Muligatawny Soup, Mushroom Bhaji with Garlic Naan. Delivery is free until late as well!
This is the best Indian food weve had in NYC since moving from London in 2012 - so happy we found this place! Its super reasonable and every dish we had was delicious - they also do brown rice which is great. Our server Monju was so so friendly too, and gave us free extras - a lentil soup + veg pakora - while we waited for our food. We will come back often!
Ive become a regular at Taj Kabab King. Its a great Indian cuisine and both lunch and dinner specials for the quantity of food and price are unbeatable! You get a soup, 2 appetizers, one delicious warm Naan bread, one tea, and 2 main courses for $14.95.Probably the butter chicken is one of their best and our favorite dish! All the waiters are all really friendly. The last waiter we had, named Monzu, was so great that we couldnt ignore to leave a great review about him.Probably one of the most genuine nice waiters weve had in a long time. He made us change some stuff we wanted different on our dinner special and even offered us an extra soup and one extra appetizer. If you like Indian food, are hungry and want to spend little but still eat great food, go here!
Food was absolutely delicious! We had the chicken curry and shrimp curry lunch specials, lot of food for a very reasonable price. Server (Monju) is very friendly and kind. Great Customer Service and pleasant atmosphere...would definitely return and tell my friends and family about Taj Kabab King, must try!!
Ordered through grubhub. The food came on time and was hot but the food wasnt good at alllllll. Nothing personal against the restaurant but just giving an honest review. The tomato soup was the worst Ive ever seen or tasted from texture to taste. It seemed like they mix canned tomato puree with water and lots of oil. Other items didnt taste good as well and food had a lot of color in it (not turmeric, being Indian I know what turmeric looks like). I had colour on my hands after eating which wouldnt go away even from multiple washings.
An amazing experience coming into this restaurant. Monzu and our server were beyond attentive and funny! We were so full and happy when we left after having the #1 and #2 dinner special. we split it between the three of us and felt like Queens **in brooklyn. Wed definitely come back for another night out. Perfect food and service.
Actually called Taj Kabab KingI live close by and eat here or order from here all the time. I love it. Pretty much get some on a weekly basis at this point because I like it so much.Must order:Samosa - Coconut is good, Lamb and Veggie are really good.Salmon Taj Kahari - my favorite thing on the menu. There are a ton of great vegetarian entrees. Ive had 3 or 4 different ones and really loved each of them.
This is the tastiest, most authentic, most comprehensive snapshot of Indian cuisine in Brooklyn. Monzu and the rest of the staff delight being attentive to their guests, many of whom are recognized and welcomed with a hearty greeting. Becoming a regular here is the smartest thing you can do if you love Indian food like I do.
Sub par lunch delivery. No silverware. Soup was just sauce base. entree was same sauce with three bite-size pieces of lamb and maybe potato.Naan was hot. Pakoras fresh. So maybe skip their delivery lunch. They obviously cannot provide meat/app/soup/bread/rice at $11 and meet the customer’s expectation.
Been eating here since I was 13 Im 20 now Im in love with this place always have always will be it is truly blessed authentic and the vibe is just so comforting especially when eating it makes you feel like youre in india🙏🏾 The people here are truly the gods in human skin feeding our blasphemous American asses real food for once, should eat here its the culture 🖤 Who ever is writing bad reviews about this place is trying too take out competition theyre clearly mad business owners trying too steal the greatness from this shop because their restaurants suck. Stop being demonic everyone should eat here its truly lovely
I absolutely love this place! The food and service are fantastic and byob makes it by far the most affordable sit down restaurant in Williamsburg. My personal favorite is the seafood dinner special. Shrimp or crab curry and the best tandoori salmon Ive ever had with soup and appetizers included. Ask for Monzu, he will take amazing care of you!
Came in for the Chicken Tikka lunch special for $10. The Nan bread was absolutely fluffy and full of goodness - a perfect compliment to the soup that youre given to enjoy in its full nan-ny goodness. The vegetable samosa (and meat samosa too) is big and very flavorful that also goes greatly with the soup. The sauces that come with the meal (one is a sliced red pepper, another is a green sauce and another brown) are very nice ways to bring out the taste. The chicken was very nicely cut and full of masala goodness. Absolutely delicious. The rice portion was huge and had some good qualities to it - not too watery, not too hard.. very delicate. Service is fast and you are consistently on by the friendly staff. The decor is beautiful and reminds you of India. Our waiter, Monju, was very charismatic and social and really made the trip to the restaurant extremely pleasant. Highly recommended.
I have only ever ordered delivery, but its cheap and great. As a Pakistani-American, I am picky about my Indian restaurants, but this place is consistently great. I usually get the veggie dinner special, which comes with way too much food for one person. I also love that the saag paneer and chicken tikka masala isnt soupy, but thick. Really fast at delivery too!
Super disappointing. I ordered a lentil soup (mulligatawny soup really) and I got a tomato soup. I called regarding the mistake. I was told that was the lentil soup. It was not. He said they mix tomato with it. It was like tomato paste. The Indian restaurant on Havemeyer makes a great lentil soup. I wanted to try a different restaurant and would not order from here again. No taste. The curry was okay and the Rasmali were eatable but wouldn’t order there again.
Best Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant in Williamsburg! Food is delicious, the place is quiet, very clean, they use tablecloths and traditional tableware, and the music selection is really relaxing. Ask Monju, the nice and friendly manager, to recommend their best courses — hell make you happy! My favorite: Vegetarian Menu... just D E L I C I O U S !
Im totally blown away by the rave reviews this place has on Yelp, Google, and Seamless. I ordered from Seamless, and since their terrible user interface wont let me rate the restaurant on their site, Im posting here.Ordered some of the basics, Tikka Masala, Curry, Kathi roll, naan. Aside from the naan everything else was awful. Granted, I ordered late at night, but still the meal was basically inedible, and expensive. The Tikka and Curry sauces were basically just greasy paste, and the kathi roll was literally just raw tomato and lettuce wrapped in fried naan. Even the rice was overcooked.I never post Google reviews, but this was garbage and Im pissed that Seamless wont let me rate it there, so here we are. Again, cant understand why this restaurant is so highly rated. Complete waste of money, dont even bother.
Best Indian taj kebab king restaurant in the city I live in Astoria but I always order from them because they have a real Indian food i enjoy I hope everybody will love this I really food enjoy i almost every week 4 to 5 time I really appreciate your service thank you guys i love your food ❤❤🇺🇸🌎

2022-06-03I lost my laundry card so I had to actually go out to do laundry. Good for me because I found a really nice Indian restaurant right next door to the laundromat. The menu is large with a very good list of traditional Indian food. Everything is made fresh, even the lassi. I’m totally impressed. Ab, and Abir were my hosts and they are very nice well mannered people. The menu offers 20 different vegetarian dishes and 5 side dish offers. That’s a lot for any restaurant. Vegans should ask about certain dishes. It’s walking distance from me, and no one likes fresh baked nan with sag paneer more then me. They even offer spicy like they eat it at home. I’m so elated.

2022-04-20Comparing To The Old Place, The New Restaurant That They Built Is Much Much More Better And It Looks Beautiful. The Food Is Also For Some Reason Tastes So Good Than Before. Everyone I Recommend You To Try The Food At This Restaurant. 472 Grand St (cross street: Lorimer st)zipe code:11206, NY Brooklyn.

2022-07-07Food is sooo good and staff are friendly and nice. We live across the corner from the restaurant and since we discover it, we go there at least once a week! I am vegan and so far loves all their vegan options that I tried. The staff are also happy to accommodate my diet and create more dairy free dishes for me

2021-10-17We order all the time. Today my aloo Matar Gobi taste a little off. Kinda sour? Then I found a giant piece of meat in it. When I called they said they were too busy to refund me.

2022-04-01Not sure what’s up with all the fake reviews here but 3 of us tried their lunch special and it was the worst Indian restaurant experience ever. The beef was rock solid and even after complaining the server didn’t budge to change. The rice was undercooked and served in ONE BOWL instead of 3 for us to share!? Chicken curry had artificial color which is still on my fingertips after several washes. They also served half a naan for each person. Make it make sense!First and last time visiting this spot :/2 ⭐️ cause the Lamb samosa and chutney was quite good.

2022-05-18I ordered through UberEats. So they gave me rasmalai which was already spoiled. The milk had curdled. How can they even sell it? UberEats refunded me but this is such horrible service. I also ordered Kathi roll and never have I ever had kathi roll that is deep fried. Food tasted and smelled cheap.
