Talk of the Town in other cities:
Ordered a meatball sub and pizza from here and the pizza was good like always but don’t ever order the meatball sub!!! It’s on nasty mushy bread that taste terrible was so disappointed….. was craving a meatball sub and got the pizza as extra thank goodness because that was the worst sub I have ever had 😢
As a former server, watching how the team on the floor works together was so nice. Different people checking on us and making sure everything was good. The food was excellent. Still thinking about the sweet potato waffle fries and melba sauce. Finally, Melinda was excellent. Attentive and kind - you can tell she loves her job.
I am so not happy with you guys. I have ordered a lot from here well this time they messed up they forgot stuff on my order had to go back and they give me the one that they forgot they were so cold did make me fresh one just the one that were sitting there and dont get me started on trying to call in an order. I wish I could give them zero stars I am just so unhappy 😡
Wow! The pizza, wings and antipasti were amazing, if fact, we believe it may be the best pizza in #NewYork. Our server was attentive to our needs and very friendly. If you are thinking about trying this place, my family highly recommends this great family establishment. Great job, you have our 5 Stars!!!
A Glens Falls staple for decades, the Talk of the Town is the place to get a fantastic meal at a reasonable price. They have some of the best pizza anywhere. And their chicken Caesar salad is outstanding. And theyve got the real deal mozzarella sticks not those thin little chicken fries looking things. Im not a seafood guy but I also hear their steamers are great for my friends who ordered them. Reasonably priced alcoholic beverages, too. Great meal!
Service was extremely slow. Waiter acted like he didnt want to be there. Took him over 20 minutes to bring us our drinks. Another 15-20 he came back to take our order. And 40-45 to get our food. Pasta was cold. The waiter never checked on us, never asked how things were. The plate the pasta was on had a ton of water under the pasta. I watched him put a waffle fry that fell off someone elses plate onto the tray, back on the plate. Dirty. There were crumbs on the benches and on the heater next to our table. Very disappointed!!!
Hands down, best pizza in the world. That crust is so special, cheeseburger pizza is on point, and while playing with flavors I found bacon and green olive satisfies some serious salt craving. No one else has those toppings. Other menu items are also amazing like the clubs, fried clams, those potato skins.... who can forget those? The servers are super friendly and really good at what they do.
The atmosphere is outdated and so is most of their menu. However, you cant get pizza like theirs anywhere else... Cheese all the way to the edges and a great list of topping options. The recipe is exactly as it was when I was a kid and it is delicious! The staff is always friendly and welcoming too. My whole family loves going here.
Love their pizza and appetizers. The boneless wings are on point. And as a kid our whole family used to come and get half the menu, pasta, pizza, wings, salads, sandwiches, soups, burgers, or pretty much whatever else you want for dinner 🍝Gotta get a sausage pizza soon 🔜
Simply put they’re Skimpy and overpriced. I’ve ordered here 2 times in the last month and the portions keep getting smaller! I request a large fry cooked extra crispy and I end up getting undercooked fries that are smaller in size than the large fry I’ve gotten there months ago. I order a turkey club and half the sandwich quarters have no bacon. It’s getting ridiculous! All in all the place has gone down hill 👎🏻
Great pizza. I believe they cook it in a pan. Sauce is sweet but not too sweet. They have a good salad bar but it isnt always open. I think it might be only open on busy nights Friday Saturday etc. They can go a little over board on toppings though. I often tell them light on the toppings especially if you have 4 or more toppings. You wont be able to see the cheese otherwise. I mean I bet some people might like that but seems overboard to me. Pizza also only comes in one size I think which is rather average sized. Should feed 3-4 people on average. Only reason I dock them one Star is the decorations inside. The place seems like it hasnt been re-decorated in 40 years. But not dirty or anything just need some updating. But a great family favorite restaurant that I visit regularly.
3 stars due to the wait. We were seated, then forgotten about for close to 30 minutes, and finally had to flag someone down. When the food arrived (which took about 30-45 minutes for 3 cheeseburgers and an order of fries) it was excellent.the burgers were grilled perfectly and the French fries were outstanding. Honestly wouldve given 4 or even 4.5 if it wasnt for the wait. Great burgers and fries, at least. Prices were relatively fair, with the most expensive thing we ordered being a bacon cheeseburger for $9.99.All in all, I would go again and give them another shot. I feel like tonights wait was a fluke. My daughter, her friend and I enjoyed our burgers and fries, and I have heard good things around town about this place. Hence the name, I suppose...
Prices are high, but the pizza is very good. Not a traditional pizza place, more of an Italian restaurant that serves pan-cooked pizza. The sauce was sweet but not over the top, the crust was thick and tasty. Very cheesy, but the cheese was melted nicely. The service was very kind and attentive. Would go here again.
I had heard so many good things so I went. They were a little slow at first but the salad was good and the appetizer was good even if it looked a little small. Then we waited forever for dinner and when it came it was just okay. Then the more we ate it the less happy we were. I had the manicotti and it did not settle well at all. My boyfriend had veal parm and it was definitely nothing special and the pasta was definitely not drained properly because there was a ton of water on the plate. Its the little things that add up. Never got bread. The waiter rarely checked on us. When I said the food didnt agree with me there was no offer of discount, no conversation with a manager. Now Im home wondering if Im going to be sick or just have the worst indigestion of my life Wont be going back.
The food was great but the service was mediocre. I went in there with my girlfriend and my daughter(Who is 4), we were told we could sit where ever we like then told we had to sit at a table in the bar area cause there was a party coming in which hadnt arrived by the time we left about an hour or more later. Now that is not that big of a deal but I really dont like to sit in the bar area with my 4 year old. Our server was ok but he couldnt or wouldnt take care of a few request we made which very easily could have been done. Like I said the food was good. My girlfriend and I ordered hot turkey sandwiches with fries(fresh cut) but the portion size was small. It was like they made one sandwich and gave us both a half, which is very small compared to other places. Like I said the food was great and not our worst restaurant experience but we will probably not be regulars. Heck we probably wont eat there again unless we want to go some place different than we normally go
Place was nice, had a good hometown feeling to it. staff well our waitress was friendly and kept up with taking care of us and refilling our drinks and what not. we waited a good 40-50 mins for all our food, fiance said her steak was mildly warm, they had a few slip ups with orders ours included. messed up 2 pizza orders for the same person and charred our French fries. settled both mess ups in a good manner and didnt argue whatsoever, also asked if there was anything else they could do for them. not sure if it was a overly busy night or if thats the usual, it was our first time there. I got the cheeseburger pizza tasted great exactly what I expected was a little greasy though. fiance and her father got the prome ribs, they said there wasent much flavor to them. and fiance also got the clams. she said they were great. they have a bar there aswell and have the football games on with seating near the bar so you can watch them while you eat if you like. we didnt drink at the bar so cant give my experience on that. despite the mess ups I gave it a 5* seemed like a great place to go and relax.
Ive eaten at this restaurant several times and Ive had a good experience but this time was absolutely horrible. we walk through the door and head to announce our presence to the service that were sitting around the table doing absolutely nothing. When we were seated the waiter took our menus away for about 10 minutes and then came back from them. We obviously didnt know what we wanted right away so we asked our waiter to give us a minute or two and he Left and we didnt see him again for another 35 minutes. Upon receiving her food it was cold and overcooked I ordered the veal parm and the outside edge of the veal cutlet was extremely hard and after finishing the spaghetti on the plate I discovered there to be a giant puddle of water. My girlfriend ordered the manicotti and immediately became physically ill after consuming. After bringing these issues up to the waiter nothing was offered to us. Nobody other than the waiter came to see us about our issues the waiter just said oh well let me get you your bill so you can be on your way then and then proceeded to bring back a full price bill. Im never going back to this restaurant and I hope anybody who reads this never goes there either.
My husband and I had dinner at around 7:45. It wasnt particularly busy but our waitress always seemed harried and rushed. Granted, it took me a little while to decide, but once I did it took the food forever to arrive. I ordered a personal pizza and my husband ordered a plate of spaghetti with mushroom marinara. The pizza was fine, a little heavy on the cheese and light on sauce, but nothing terrible. They basically cooked an entire box of spaghetti for my husband and spooned a little jarred pasta sauce and a scoop of canned mushrooms on top. They forgot his Italian bread. The salad bar was just laughably small. And then even after wed clearly finished eating, we had to flag someone to find our waitress so I could box up the rest of my pizza (we didnt keep the extra pasta) and pay our bill. We didnt leave until almost 9. We spent over $30. Definitely not worth the seemingly inflated reviews.
This old school Glens Falls staple has a huge menu and great service. Impeccably clean and tidy, I wholeheartedly encourage visitors to take the extra 2 minute drive off the highway and check out the heart and soul of Glens Falls cuisine. Great pizza and burgers, great salad bar. And they serve the best chicken wings in the North Country. (This is known.) Do yourself a favor and check it out.
Dining at Talk of the Town is like being transported back into a 70s family restaurant -- but this is a good thing. From the decor to the overall ambiance, Talk of the Town exudes a lived-in hometown feel. It feels like a gem only the locals know about (and they do come...in droves) with its American-Italian menu and its delicious pizza. A salad bar is also included in most entrees. Overall, if you are looking for a casual place with excellent pizza, this is a great choice.
We recently held an event at Talk of the Town, and expected around 50 people. 70 showed up. The staff worked hard to accommodate us and never missed a beat. Always friendly and smiling, they couldnt have handled it better. The food and service were excellent from start to finish!
If I could give it 0 stars I would. I ate here a few years ago and got food poisoning from canned mushrooms they used in their spaghetti sauce. I guess they left them leftover in the can a little too long. I was sick for 3 days! Will never go back there again. I dont know what happened to that place but it used to be good.
We tried dining in for the first time. From all the times we heard this establishments name we figured what the hell.. we ordered a cheese pizza which was great, chicken wings, side of fries, and Mac and cheese. Out of everything the pizza and fries were the only things we ate. The wings were breaded and very dry, almost no sauce. Their Mac and cheese was knock off Kraft from Dollar general with lumps of un-mixed cheese powder swirled in. I dropped my napkin on the floor and when I picked it up I noticed the space between the booth and the wall (between the seat and wall on the floor) was riddled with old food, garbage and straw wrapper ends as if it hadnt been cleaned in a very long time. I tried to get the attention of my waiter multiple times to refill my Pepsi but I couldnt. Mind you we were sitting approximately 6 feet away from where the group of servers who seemed to be more concerned with the turn out of a baseball game that was on the bar television than making a refill run. After our waiter finally came over and saw that we didnt touch the mac and cheese or the wings and that we wanted our check, he asked if we didnt like those two dishes (which we both pointed out reasons why we were dissatisfied and he didnt offer to take the full dishes off our bill or even give us a minor discount. We still paid our entire $40 dollar bill and tipped him $20 bucks because I run a kitchen and my girlfriend is the head waitress at a local restaurant and we believe in tipping karma. But maybe we just caught them on a rough night. Who knows the Yankees were playing and thats obviously where everyones attention was.
The pizza was good, the veal parmesan is terrible I recommend not getting that at all. The salad bar was good. But dont get the veal parm. The service was okay. I asked for more cheese he said hell see what he can do kind of nasty. Just get the salad bar if you go there thats about it.
Hadnt been there in years and decided to go with the family this past sunday. We ordered 3 pizzas a chicken salade and 2 appetizers and the food came to $100.00, over priced. To start with the pizza was bland and very small 12 inch pizzas. We orderd a buschetta, cheese and hawian pizza and they were very bland. $17 for a 12 inch pizza, what? The service was also crappy. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO PIZZA HUT.
Just ate an order we got to go!Might be the last one!Pizza was terrible, crust was like a Pizza Hut thick crust,(half cooked), no sauce on half the pizza!Hot meatball sandwich seemed like it was warmed up in a microwave, couldnt eat the roll, because it was too tough!Wing dings must have come from a turkey, fatty and oversized!NOTHING LIKE THE OLD DAYS!
The resteraunt is a dump, it was kind of cozy, but the waiters had alittle bit of attitude, and the food is not that good, but the salad is very good. I suggest not getting the veil parm my cousin quoted I couldnt get it down after taking the first bite, and the sause is watery. Over all dont go to this resteraunt unless you really like salad.
I ordered a Manicotti Dinner (take-out). I arrived a bit earlier than I was told (15-20 mins.) In order to pay.. The travel time back home was only 5 mins., as I live right around the corner(literally); the Dinner was ONLY WARM, and the flavor was not at all like I remembered from years ago!? Disappointing!

2022-05-10Our family and friends celebrated my granddaughters communion here on Saturday afternoon 5/7/22. The waiter was very nice and attentive and the food was very good. There was a decent variety to choose from and pricing was pretty much comparable. I would recommend this restaurant.

2022-02-15My sister Michelle Woods passed away and this was her favorite place. The staff knew her. The food was fantastic but the service was above and beyond and I am so grateful to them. They made a sad occasion a little better. Thank you Talk of the Town. My nephew said the wings were the best he has Screenshot ever had.

2022-06-236/22/22 @ 6pm. three of us for dinner. No complaints except for the stench in the bathroom. Food and service was spot on. A fellow patron gets the best review though, offering to move his family to another table so we could sit where he was. So sweet.

2022-05-14I called to place am order at 9 pm. I was specific in my order. My room mate picked it up. The order was completely wrong. I called. The dishwasher answered the phone. Said and I quote listen lady Im just the dishwasher what do you want from me My response was I want to speak to whoever is in charge. He put the phone down. I got disconnected conviently. I called back. No one answered. Yes times are tough and people make mistakes. OWN THEM. I order 1 to 2 times a week from you people. Not anymore. I am furious that I was treated like that. I repeated my order twice. I do not understand the lack of caring about your customers. Talk of the Town from me will not in any way be a positive conversation. Your lack of concern and customer service lost you a loyal customer.

2022-03-29I have been here several times pre covid and the food was always very good. Since the covid lockdown we have ordered take out and the food is consistently bad burned and dry. Hamburgers, french fries, pizza, its just not good anymore. Once the restaurant opened back up, we decided to try it again. I took my mom out to eat a few weeks ago on a saturday. The pasta she ordered was in a huge bowl of watery pasta sauce, and her sauce looked very unappetizing, she ate one sausage and did not like it. She brought the rest home in a take out container. She said she did enjoy the salad bar though, however My version of the salad bar, it was sloppy and unclean. Nothing looked fresh, the cucumbers were soggy and spongy and the plates were hot. Thats awesome that they were clean except its an uncommon practice to serve salad on a hot plate. We ordered a cheeseburger pizza, and the dough was undercooked and soggy, and the only taste was mustard. We basically left with a bad taste in our mouths and it was very unappetizing. I felt a bit ashamed because i usually take my mom out to good restaurants, and everything (except the inadequate salad bar) was inedible, when everything is getting more expensive, it really bums me out when the food is bad. It feels like a total waste of my money. When we got back home my mom was immediately sick and had something very bad happen to her that i will not say. You have no idea how horrible i felt. Such a bad meal and she paid the bill too. After two years of consistently bad food, i can no longer come back to this restaurant.
