Talk of the Town in other cities:
This place use to be good when it first opened. I visit here from time to time and noticed some really bad changes as the years have passed. Im not sure if the chef changed or not but the quality of the food has been dwindling. We ordered Thai soup which was absolutely horrible. The lollipop chicken has just been getting smaller and smaller as the years passed to the point where its like the size of a tooth pick. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I will not be going back.
Good Desi restaurant. Their soup is really testy. But only if you like spicy. I loved it because I like spicy foods. Their chicken lollypop is very crispy and taste is good also. But there is no parking. And in that area parking is really a big challenge. Luckily I found a parking within 4 blocks, last time. But sometime only for the parking challenge youll discouraged have some food over there.
I have been at this place many times and I used to love their food. But now a days, test and quality of food is not good anymore, customer service went down!!! They have increased their prices too! Previous owner/ management/ chef were great. Sagor Chinese restaurant is much better than this one.
This place is just as good as Sagar. This place also has chicken lollipop but it obviously tastes a little different than Sagar Lollipop. The staff is very friendly and professional. Cozy lighting and very comfortable. They greet us with smiles. Talk of the town special fish is one of my favorite.
Price is too high than the other Chinese food. And soup 🥣 not taste enough. They serve soup in a small bowl, that’s for one person and price is high, but other similar restaurant they serves in a big bowl which is good for four persons. Service charge is mandatory here. That’s too bad.
This used to be one of my family’s go-to places for almost a decade. But over the years the food quality has gone down from 10 to 3 to -10. The chicken lollipop was their staple, and now it is a disgusting bits of “chicken” with nothing but fat and skin and extensive additives. The Thai soup I just tried had literally three pieces of mushroom bits and virtually NO other vegetable. Also, the whole thing was a horrible slab of thick goo of salt and sugar. It was literally the worst soup and worst excuse of food I ever had; bad enough to make me compelled to write this review. It breaks my heart because everyone in my family really liked their food. Oh well. I hope this reaches the right people and the restaurant proves me wrong. At the least, you (the diner) have been spared from wasting your money.
Love this place! I have been coming here for years and nothing has changed: the service is always great and the food is amazing! Their chicken lollipop is a must! First thing I order all the time: the chicken lollipop is flavorful and the sauce that goes with it tastes soo good!!
Fried Paneer appetizer was tasty but the chicken for dinner is mostly fat and carriage and almost no meat. (They should use chicken breast or chicken tenderloin which is all meat and no fat and no carriage) The sauce for the chicken is ok. The sweet and sour soup has too much corn starch and extremely spicy. The rug on the ground is very dirty. The waiter seems nice. We did not wait long for food. The restaurant is not nice looking ... looks old and run down. The restaurant needs a big time upgrade. The outside of restaurant is ugly.
5 out of 10.Nothing special. Food is a little expensive but best is much regular as like a regular restaurant. chicken lollipop Was very oily and skinny. I ordered also sup but I don’t know I was sup or red vegetable water. and fried rice was so so.Service 7 out of 10.they need more improvement.......
Over priced!$11 for 7 lollipop chicken! (gave us 6)Also paid $11 and ordered a shrimp fried rice to go and opened the packet to 4 tinyyyy shrimp. If I am paying extra for shrimp, I want shrimp!Thier invoicing is also off, charged my party (of 3) for an extra fried rice. Do check your bill if you have multiple orders. They did fix the issue immediately after , but still- makes you wonder how many other times it happened.
Food was on nothing special. The biggest issue is their invoice price and the prices on menu do not match! I was also told they do not give you a detailed list of the items ordered. So by the menu prices i was ripped off atleast $20 plus. Unless in dire need i would avoid this place. If google had negative stars. then that would be their rating.
Horrible experience seriously..very very very bad service. Grilled chicken plater serve cold. Soup found with ladies serves long hair.No regrets from the Management, might be they dont care about customer service.I worked 8 years in food industry and I found myself no were at this situation. I suppose not to teach them warm food not going to serve until or unless it 140 degrees hot ( minimum requirements of hot food as per city food law ).Management should change or stop making customer fool.
There was no one to greet. Only one waiter working, serving, taking orders and sitting people down! Small place, busy. Service very slow. Did not give any starter such as salad. Menu said half price during lunch hours but was told it is full price on holiday, it didnt say that on the menu any where. It was Veterans day! Charged us gratitude as well.
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years with my family. At first when we started going, they didnt have much business and everyone was so friendly. They would even go as far as to give us complimentary dessert. However over the years the service, portions of food and price have all changed significantly. Last night I took my family out for what I hoped would be a nice meal. Our waiter, Rony, gave us very good service. However there was another elderly gentleman who turned off the air conditioning as soon as he came in. Um...hello...why would you do that? Its like 90° outside. Then while more than half of our party was still eating he came and picked up our plates (as if to rush us to leave) without even asking or saying excuse me. It made everyone at the table feel so uncomfortable. The restaurant was not very busy and there were many empty tables. Im not sure if there is a shortage of plates or he wanted us to leave. Whatever the case, this was not the first time this has happened. If you need more plates...then buy them, im sure you can afford it as youve increased the prices on almost every item on the menu. If you wanted us to leave then Im not sure why you were open at all. Not sure if Ill return but if i do or if you plan on going here for a meal, make sure Rony is there!!!!
Talk of the Town is Just like Nan King .Here all the best Chinese food is available in spicy touch u can order not spicy ,mild or really hot fresh food .soups are fine and tasty .from 12 - 3 pm a lot ( not everything ) is 50% off on weekdays ( not weekends) I go get a sweet chicken corn soup ( regular bowl $ 4:36 with tax) Hooka Chicken Noddels ( regular $10 :80 with tax) for a discount price of $7:00 .which is very reasonable for a light lunch time . chicken loly pops r delicious a lot of veriety .good place to go .But with family on weekends a little expensive .( In a south Asian state of mind )
Horrible foodLike why would anyone open a restaurant with these cooking skills, heck I make better food at home!I been to this place like 5 times over the last couple of years not of my own will, forced or invited by friends and family and regret it each time. Those MIXED NOODLEs needs to be out guys!!! What is that!? Rubber mixed with diesel?! Geez any restaurant you decide to go to in that neighborhood is a much much better option, as there are hundreds! Please doUggh...still so angry 😡
Went to dine here based on the recommendation of the friend who is a chef. The meal was so incredibly bad that I made him pay for the whole thing. This place advertises itself as Indo-chinese food but is as far away from that as the earth is from pluto. Having grown up in Bombay with delicious Indian chinese food to be found everywhere from street carts to 5 star hotels, seeing the brutal massacre of said cuisine at this place broke my little Indian chinese heart. The place itself is quite decrepit, dingy and completely mismatched in terms of ambiance. We ordered the gobi chilly and vegetable schezwan with rice. The gobi chilly looked like the cauliflower had committed suicide by drowning in some sauce which tasted like heartburn. There were some raw julienned onions mourning the death of the cauliflower around the pool of heartburn gravy. The vegetable schezwan was equally if not more terrible with vegetable roundels in basically corn flour broth, which had no taste whatsoever. Felt like eating slimy, gooey cardboard with rice. I usually always finish my food because I believe in not wasting it but this stuff was so abysmally horrid that I could not bring myself to stomach my portion.DO NOT GO HERE. This is not what Indian Chinese food is. Absolutely pathetic.
I always go to talk of the town at list 2-3 times a month. Mother day 5-08-2016 worst customer service ever did not give us our drinks and charging me at the end. Owner taking my food fast from my table with out asking me so he could get other customers. Worst customer service and food wasnt good as used to be.
No taste and it’s Bengali food nt Indian Chinese I bought achicken chili and the chicken as uncooked chicken was raw frm inside I tried first time plz Chinese lovers do nt go in this restaurant it’s nt India Chinese like sagar or Tangra u will regret it and price r way expensive thnx.
A place with a fairly calm atmosphere, even becoming too calm. It is not located on one of the main avenues, but is easily accessible by car or on foot.In favor: you can find good options for non-typical dishes and away from the classic unhealthy fast food chains. The place allows you to enjoy food with peace of mind.Against: the place is not very wide, so on some occasions and depending on the time, it will not be easy to find a free table.

2019-09-24Not bad. The service is good. Food quality is not that much. They need to work on it more. Little overpriced. All together we have better places to for this kind of items.

2022-03-07Went on Valentines....nice decor, clean for Jackson Heights. Service, food better than most of the unprofessional, dirty, rude Desi (indian, Bangladesh, Pakistan) places that abound in that neighborhood.

2019-12-20My favourite items to order from this restaurant are chilly chicken and fried rice. As usual the taste and flavour combined with seasoning are uniquely blended with perfect combination. If you really desire to give a shot , I would say go for it without hesitation. I assure, you will never regret. But you need to be specific to the level of spice that needs its preparation as it’s tolerance varies from person to person. Overall the quality is great and commendable.

2020-06-17We ordered the House Special Briani. These guys gave us a superb customer experience and their food was fantastic. The blend of flavors and the spice were just perfect. Congratulations and I hope that anything that happened in the past stays in the past and you guys can move forward.

2018-06-23Food is great and thats what is most important. But service is great too. Nice ambience. The only issue is parking. They have parking for only 2 cars at the back. There is no TV inside. But thats OK. The gentleman who served us was awesome. One of our kids broke a glass but still they were all smiles. Liked the place.

2019-02-05Expensive and only some of the items are worth tasting. Not fast on getting meals ready, but I wouldnt say theyre very slow compared to other restaurants Ive been to; however, given the fact I believe the overall quality of food here is below average, more often than not, it wouldnt be worth the wait. Everytime Ive been to this place its usually quite empty, so maybe the other customers might agree on that. If the people in the town are talking about this place, I doubt its anything good. At least, the place is typically kept tidy and clean, but when it seems like they dont get a lot of customers, I wouldnt say that would be too difficult to accomplish.

2019-01-06Two star is because food taste good but not great. And this business has a terrible practice of overcharging people generally with groups of 5 or 6 who orders lots of items. It has happened with me three times and every time i was in a group of 5 or six people. I noticed the pattern because every time they tried to disguise the overcharge under lollipop chicken order saying instead of two we had four orders..then you confront them and they said sorry and adjusted the bill. Please also don’t forget to check the prices of the items after they present you the bill since they take all the menus away as soon as you place food order. One time would be coincidental but three times is a calling for action.

2017-12-31Had a large family dinner here. The Thai soup is one of the best dishes in Queens. Loved the lollipop chicken. The variety of entrees we had were very good as well. Have been coming here since I was a child and still doesnt disappoint.
