We came here to rent tubes on the river for the day and had an amazing time! From our welcome until we left, the employees at the campground were warm and accomodating. My daughters shoes broke in the river, and we were able to buy her water shoes right there and they dropped them off. We had use of the facilities for the day as well. If you want to float on the river and enjoy being outside in nature, this is a fantastic place to do so!
We stayed here for just under a week at the beginning of our journey cross country. Only bad thing is that this place set the standard for what we should expect from a campground. We loved it! Plenty to do, clean facilities, great location and friendly staff. This will be a vacation destination for our family now.
My family and I camper here and had a great time. We camped from a Saturday to a Saturday. During the week we were pretty much alone. Our 35 foot trailer had plenty of space to park right on the river, though access was a little difficult from our site we managed well and launched the rented Kayak right from our site. Due to Covid we had limited interaction with the staff, but what interaction we did have was very friendly. Due to Covid the campground was not holding any in person events but was making due with items delivered to the site. This was a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Great stopover place! We stayed he for a 2 day trip and it was amazing! We check in and the lady was super nice. The campground is about 10 min from I-88 so easy to get on and off the highway. The campground has nice sites on the creek and nice amenities. The place is great overall, the only downside is they dont have 50 amp creek sites but everything else is awesome.
We have stayed on both the river and the pool levels and both are wonderful. You cant do anything about the weather, but even when it has been rainy we absolutely love Tall Pines and have never had any problems. Last year we came in the spring (which was unusually rainy) but even then we didnt have any issues with our site. In fact, it looked like they had just added new gravel on the roads and put in a drainage system, and other than a few puddles where they just finished the 50amp upgrades, I didnt see any real mud problems. I also loved that the camp offered so many activities to keep the kids and myself busy when the weather didnt cooperate. Most of the crafts were really cheap (only $7 for a tie dye shirt - shirt and dye included!) and they also offered a bunch of free stuff to do too. I am excited about their new waterfront 50amp full hookup sites since we are planning on coming back this July with our new camper and it will be nice to be able to run both ACs to keep cool. 10 out of 10 would recommend Tall Pines to anyone.
My husband and I saw them out at the camping show in Syracuse where they were offering a free night. Since we are always up to trying something new we opted to take advantage. We hadnt checked them out or read any reviews until after we booked our actual dates. We werent deterred from going. We had a riverside site, which yes was smaller than other non-waterfront sites. Most campers know thats the case anywhere you go with a water-front site. Check-in was easy with a lot of information. The weekly schedule had a lot of kids crafts, which was good since we brought our 9 yr old niece. We didnt mind paying for them especially since they were more intricate than painting on a rock. The only gripe, nothing tells you there is an extra fee, and I had to go back to our site to grab some cash. I just like to be prepared. We didnt even mind not having tv, though we do like to watch the news in the morning, but we survived. We loved all the goodies and the variety of them in the camp store. A couple of reviews mentioned old and outdated this and that, but even if the buildings are, we are camping at our site and relaxing there and not in the game room or restaurant. I would have preferred more shade available by the pool. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. We WOULD go back. Thank you to the owners for a really nice camping experience.
We stayed over on a last minute lets take the kids camping tonite kinda deal. Didnt get a chance to check out the whole campground, but where we stayed (sites H and II) was quite nice, right on the river. Bathrooms were excellent and clean. Pool was fine (seemed deeper than advertised). Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Tall Pines.
My husband and I spent one night at Tall Pines, on our way home from a trip to Canada. We happened to stay the last night they were open for the season. Based on the website and reviews, I got the impression this would be a great place to spend a peaceful night. If you love having lots of screaming kids running around, including on your own site, then this is the place for you. It seems that Tall Pines Campground is geared towards kids. Not the place to be if you want a quiet spot for the night. The campground is right next to a very busy road. Thankfully traffic seemed to quiet down at night, til about 5am when it got busy and loud. The owner who checked us in was very friendly. She said I would be getting a receipt sent to my email, which I never received. As for the campground itself, another reviewer mentioned there are ratty looking trailers, outbuildings, and mobile homes on the premises. We noticed the exact same thing. We didnt get a good impression of the place from the moment we drove in. The driveway is in dire need of some gravel, it was very rutty and muddy due to the rain earlier that day. All the roads in the campground are dirt and could use some tlc. This could be a nice place with some work. At $44 for water and electric, there should at least have been cable tv.
I picked this place because it was rated 9/10 by good Sam and the majority of the reviews were good and according to their website, it seemed like a great place with tons to do.When we arrived, after hours check in was simple and convenient .We found our site right away, site are clearly marked and they left the light on, on our electrical post for us .It was dark out obviously when we arrived. When we woke up we wanted to get some coffee so we headed to the store. Well, the store didnt open until 930 and we noticed it closed early as well...think it was 7. We had no service on our phones, so we drove around until we found coffee . When we got back to the campground, we took a drive around to check it out .To our surprise, it was much smaller than the map made it out to be. MUCH. We stayes on site 4. It was waterfront. No complaints here, until others started to fill in. The waterfront sites are too close together. Not much realeastate! When the store was open, we did take a walk up there. Cute store, lots of cute things . How ever, this old fashioned soda fountain is,NO FOUNTAIN AT ALL, it is nothing but a small glass front fridge with old time soda flavors in glads bottles. The store is also very outdated. Yea, they do have 2 arcade room, but the one to left of the soda bar appears to be ina room of someones house.....a bit, uncomfortable. Thr other arcade is...ok. Typical game room .The dining room for thier resturaunt is off the gaming room in the back.....also...kinda looks like someones dining room, aside from being outdated, it was cute.We then ventured outside. There are MULTIPLE trashy old motorbikes and campers that lay about around the front of campground. Kinda looks like a camper grave yard .There is a couple very old barns on site, that look trashy as well. Not to mention the small trailer park that is on site the campground as well. The MINI GOLF is a joke and the worst, outdated course I have ever seen in my entire life AND you have to pay to play! The new playground is very nice though, very small, but new and bit close to the house for my liking. the POOL itself ia clean, it is in a very small fenced in concrete area (around the fence is all grown up with weeds and grass) and the actual edge of the pool is deteriorating and looks sunny. I did not participate in the crafts so I cannot comment on those. Onto CANOEING it was portrayed, I thought, on their website, that another business was hired to do the canoe trips and that you would have a guide. It had been raining for DAYS and we teied to cancel our trip. The lady was rude about it and VERY condescending .She advised us she had to hire guides to take us, therefore she would be out the money if canceled, as would we. The canoe trip, came, and guess what?! THERE WAS NO GUIDE .It was the same gentleman that had been working at the campground the entire time .We had also seen the canoes on site .We all had to get in this very old, sketchy, dodge van that was older than we were (we are all in our early 30s). We were sure we were heading to our final destination . We got to the drop point safely, and we were handed life vests. They were light colored and FULL of mold and mildew spots, we were convinced we would get a staff infection or some sort of disease putting, these things on .They were Absolutley disgusting . The canoe trip was beautiful .Again, no guide, just a paper map that was provided at orientation. Fossil beach is a joke, and the whole thing was really sugar coated and doctored up .It sounded WAY better than it actual was.The STAFF, the staff was very pleasant, up until we tried to cancel out trip .After that, we decided we would not be spending any more money at thier store .The PROS to this campsite, the waterfront was nice and it was not overpopulated. It was quiet and relaxing.I would never go back! Ever! This campground is portrayed in a great way and it is not so great .I also did not try thier food, so no comment there. They are not what they say they are! Also priced WAY TOO HIGH
They are the best. Gayle and Eddie go out of their way to accommodate everyones individual needs. Nice dog run area too. Great facility, lots to do for the kids, pretty quiet for a family campground as well. You will love the Unadilla river. They rent canoes so you can enjoy the multiple farms in the valley.
So many great activities for children of all ages. Very relaxing on the river and made for a nice breeze as well. Our campsite was in A-J right on the river which was nice but made the walk in the middle of the night to the bathroom a pain. It would be nice if there were steps up the hill with a railing of some sort instead of having to walk all the way around the hill. After saying that the walk was well worth it, as the bathrooms very clean and updated if not brand new, showers were great, waters were hot! My favorite part was the glass painting (wine glasses) as an adult. I did take my son to the candy bar bingo which I was a little disappointed with, only because there were about 20 of people give or take and we only played one game, I have been to camps where they split them up into four games and you win 5 bars etc. Other than that had a great time and will be back!
Nice and quiet campground and RV park on the Unadilla River. The only complaint is that the sites were super tight. The road along the river front sites is one way with a turnaround at the end. We were able to maneuver our 38 5th wheel down and back fine, but had to wait for 3 or 4 rigs to go down and back first. Pool was nice, and you can rent canoes or kayaks for the day for pretty cheap. If you stay on a Friday, be sure to order a pizza or wings which they deliver in a retro pink VW Bug. Saturdays they smoke chicken and ribs and deliver at dinner-time!

2022-06-27We had the pleasure of staying at Tall Pines over the Memorial Day weekend and they were absolutely packed! Sites are a little close, but they had FHU, even if your site was on the river. The WiFi was really bad; however, for an additional $15 for the week we had GREAT reception and was even able to catch up on our Netflix favs. Tho we did have to keep signing in to use the internet. Was disappointed to see a political sign, with profanity, posted at a site. Thats just not cool at a campground. But, noticed later it was down so perhaps management stepped up about it. Did not use pool and restrooms where we were located were still closed due to covid. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are a lot of seasonal residents which is not unusual anymore. I did not care for their web store; this was the only way you could order wood, ice, etc and they would deliver. I never could get it to work on my phone and would have loved to just go to the campstore vs using the internet. The garbage is in a VERY inconvenient area and moving it should be reconsidered. It was noisy over the holiday weekend even though there is a quiet time. They do have a dog park; our small dog was able to escape and chase ensued. We would stay here again, preferably not over a holiday!

2021-08-20We have been camping for many years and Tall Pines offers so much for the Young and young at heart. We keep going back every year, sites well taken care of. Love seeing the children having so much fun. Many activities, pool, and arcade room, floating on the river. Sitting in front of your campfire on the bank of the river is camping at its Best! The beauty of the area couldnt be better. Gayle and Eddy are the Best Hosts. Not only very friendly, but so so helpful! We Love this Campground!

2021-07-02Our family had a great time camping at Tall Pines. We spent a couple of days (from Friday to Tuesday) tent camping along side some friends who had a trailer. We were on the full hookup sites along the river, which were very nice. We were able to porch the tent beside the concrete pad staying off the sites gravel drive (trailer parking). We spent a lot of time at the pool and floating in there river. While the pool isnt huge, it was very clean and refreshing on the 90+ degree days we experience on our trip. As noted in the directions, make sure you download the app before arriving as you will want it to her things from the store and to reserve gear from the camp. The response time from when we ordered materials from the app to when the camp hosts arrived with itwas very short. The camp hosts were also very friendly and very wonderful to deal with. Evenings were nice and quiet, which is always a blessing when tent camping. I would definitely consider a return trip.

2021-07-18Stay out of lot 6! The lot floods very easily! Pool was closed for a day with no notice on the campers app they provide, water was shut off for 3 hours with no warning, fire wood was wet and still green. Arcade room has an overwhelming smell of cat litter. Have to pay for Wi-Fi. The Staff were nice, good for dogs that like to swim. I would not recommend this campground to anyone.

2021-08-09This is a mid-tier campground, quite nice and pleasant, especially the spots along the river. There are some limitations, but we found them easy to live with. The closest supermarket is in Sidney and it is fairly mediocre.

2019-07-07Was stuck between 3 or 4 stars. The owners are nice people, there are lots of activities for the kids/Adults to do if you wish to pay. The grounds are kept well! The Bathrooms kept clean! Sites are closer then we like, but we still could get our 30ft camper with a 40 inch slide, the awning extended with our extra 10 foot tarp extended out on the site. We had a River view, took a trip on the river in the kayaks take my advice bring an extra vehicle and do an early morning trip on your own. They offer drop off for 2 hr or 5 hr trips but leaves at noon. The 7 am trip we took was much cooler then high noon. Things that could use a little work... The mini golf course and store / arcade / rec room needs way better air flow or working A/C. Also pricing seemed off.. over the phone told $3 per visitor once there $5 was charged to our guest. Over all a nice little get away. Oh on a side note we had full hook up but thought the coin op showers was interesting! Only because I have seen pull chains to control water usage never coin.

2020-08-13Just returned from an enjoyable weekend at Tall Pines. This was our first visit so I was a little skeptical(Just me). The campground itself was very clean and well organized. Sites were a little tighter than we are used to but clean and well cared for. If sites were larger I probably would have given 5 stars. They really pack you in if you stay on the river as we did. Our Kayaking on the river was excellent. We saw 3 bald eagles and a couple of deer crossing the river. We reserved and paid for 2 backrests for the kayaks but there was some kind of problem with the fit up and they would not work. I asked if they were going to refund the cost and they said yes. Based on some past experiences at other places I figured I would have to call them and remind them of my refund. NOPE, within in a couple of days after being home I received an email saying my refund was on the way. It was only $20 or so but its the principal of it. That went a long way in my book....... Honesty. We will certainly come back. Thank you Tall Pines.
