Target in other cities:
Clean and Friendly customer satisfaction oriented service. I especially love how coordinated restocking and checkout line assistance is. The fact that Target has someone monitoring checkout line crowds and floating cashiers makes it far superior to any other big box retailer out there.
I usually have no complaints about Target, but the Target in Ithaca is always frustrating to go to. Tonight, I had to self-checkout because there was only 1 open regular checkout, and someone had a mound of stuff that would have taken forever to wait to be done. I used the self-checkout and was waiting for about 5 minutes before a worker breezed by me without acknowledging me and helped another customer. I then asked them to remove the security tag on my earrings and she asked to see my receipt. I showed it to her, and she removed the security tag. I drove home 20 minutes to find out there was also security tags on my leggings and a top that I didn’t see - this wouldn’t have happened if I was able to go to my normal checkout stations with a clerk. I had to drive 20 minutes back to the store and a there was no one at the customer service desk to tell them this. I gave the clothes to a worker who then dropped them on the floor, stepped on them and left a shoe print, didn’t say sorry for dropping them or for forgetting the security tags, and just handed them back to me after taking off the security tags. I wanted to ask him to switch the clothes with clean ones since he just dropped and stepped on them, but he was already walking away to another customer before I could even ask. 1 hour of my time wasted driving for this easily preventable mistake with more aware and considerate workers. This is not the first time I have had unpleasant and rude experiences with the young workers there (mostly college students). I think this Target needs to re-evaluate it’s hiring process here and try to get people who remotely care about the job or the company.
Prices seem to be higher each time I go. I head for the sale racks. The marked down price is more than what I would pay for it to begin with. The nastiest was on self checkout. They have someone standing at the door counting heads and someone wiping down carts. They when I went to the self checkout I looked at the glass scanner and it looked like someone blew their nose on it. So I was very careful to just put the tags above the nasty glass so my items didnt touch it.I told the person that the door that was counting heads how disgusting it was. She said shed have someone check it out. Nasty.
Very impressed with their 5 cent fabric shopping bags. Smartest store Ive seen in that regard. I believe it will cut down on a lot of waste (recycling paper bags is not that easy) and Ive seen people take their Target bags into other stores. Bravo. To other shoppers- take care not to carry objects that are too heavy though if you want to keep your bag, one of my handles ripped. Though there are loopholes so you can tie your ripped handle in a pull tie fashion. Bravo again!
Very in tune to the customers needs. I had a product that was marked two different prices, and when I brought it up they changed the price to the lower one of the two. This was super helpful. This place is also really close to my house, so coming here is really easy. I enjoy the store and the starbucks located inside it
The gentleman at the customer service counter (Liam) was more than helpful. I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. Despite the fact that it was pouring rain when we took the large boxed item out to my car...his demeanor never changed. What a great reflection on Target Liam is! Thank you Target, for making the ordering online so easy, as well as the in store pickup! Great job!
My absolute favorite department store that has it all. Walmart is okay, but target is where I personally go for my shopping needs. My boyfriend and I love target and the friendly environment. beauty section is really big and has lots of products that you cant find at other stores. You can do light grocery shopping for essential needs, but its not a grocery store mind you, and it gets the job done. Target brand food is really good compared to other stores. You can get anything at target love this store :)
I came to Target to purchase something that I had seen online. According to the Target site, it was available. I was particularly happy to see that the site even provided the aisle #. Unfortunately, when I got there I discovered that it was out of stock. I was very frustrated as I had driven out of my way, with an injured knee, only to find out the information on your site was incorrect. The most frustrating part is that this was the second time in a few months that this had happened. An associate (Im sorry I didnt get his name) went to the customer service desk on my behalf and then came back to tell me that they would be willing to order the item and have it shipped to my home for free. He was extremely helpful! When I went to the customer service desk Ryan assisted me. He was fantastic!! He already knew my story, helped me to order it, assisted me with my Target app and took care of the rest of my orders. He was alone at the desk and there were other customers waiting and he took care of all of us in a friendly, professional manner. I am thrilled that Target empowers their employees; allowing them to take care of its customers. Ryan was fantastic! Because of him and the initial associate that assisted me, I will continue to be a loyal customer. Thank you!
I use to work at a different Target and have also been a loyal shopper at Targets throughout the country. This Target has great customer service and a very orderly and clean store. Unfortunately its layout with the attached mall makes the front end a little less welcoming. But a Target shopper anywhere will feel very comfortable finding their stuff.
The Lansing, NY target is not enforcing the face mask policy which is apparently a corporate decision. A staff member told me that they have been told not to confront people. Many people were not wearing the masks with their noses covered. One woman blatantly did not have a mask on or in her possession--a violation of the NYS state mandate. I will not go back to Target until there is a vaccine. I will not endanger my life or the lives of my family, including my 80 year old mother who lives with us. Shame on you Target. BTW our target now has a security guard-- at best a scrawny 18 year old standing by the exit. Why bother?!
Today I picked up three large shelving units, but in order to get them home I had to make three trips bc I drive a sedan. David and Ryan, two Target associates, helped me load each one into my car and met me outside each time i pulled up in front of the Target. It was some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.
The staffs at the customer service desk and in the shopping area are very helpful. However, the cashiers are mostly not trained very well. Each time I wanted to use or combine manufacture coupon, in-store deals, baby registry discount, or cartwheel coupons, the cashiers didnt know how to apply it. So, if you are using those, make sure you have lots of time... You may wait for quite a while at the cashiers for them to figure out.
I usually come to target every other week to get groceries. If you dont need to buy fresh produce or meat, then target groceries is definitely one of the cheapest place to go for groceries. I get my eggs, milk, cereal, snacks, and various other packaged products for the best price. And as an added bonus, you can get other supplies that you might need, and target would mostly have it. Not as big as walmart, but they are well supplied enough.
Target at the Shops at Ithaca Mall is a wonderful convenience to mall-goers as it offers a wide selection of food, home decor, clothing items, and much more without shoppers needing to break the flow of their mall experience by traveling to a separate location. This Target offers a particularly wide selection considering that its location has a little less space than many other branches of the supermarket. I have visited and purchased from this location many times over a few years, and have never once had any sort of negative experience with its employees; staff have always been kind, helpful, and respectful and do their best to give their customers a positive shopping experience. Despite the existence of a Tops grocery store quite near to the mall, I have consistently found that Target is a superior choice due to their variety of items, their standard and sale prices, and their convenient location in the mall, which encourages one-stop shopping. With access to the TCAT bus line, which serves many different routes with frequency from one of the malls main entrances, this Target is accessible even to Tompkins County locals who do not own vehicles, making it an even more comfortable and convenient supermarket experience.
Called and told a member that I live 20 minutes away and that the cashier forgot ingredients that I needed yesterday. They hung up on me after I was put on hold for 8 minutes. When I finally got a hold of him he said to drive the 20 minutes back to pick it up, not worth it. I would like my money back at least for the time and money already spent.

2022-04-26Unpopular opinion but I dont see the hype over Target. Most of the items here I can find elsewhere cheaper. Once in a while they have some cool unique things but for the most part, better off at Walmart.I dont enjoy the new store layout. Feels like its designed for an absent minded ditz (Clorox wipes in the middle of the clothing, toothpaste by the home goods?)I will say that the employees are always very nice at this location.

2021-07-31Wonderful experience today with the electronics team. Nick was so helpful in answering questions for me. I chose a system I thought my daughter would enjoy, and of course she picked a different one out after I purchased one. He knew exactly what was coming next, before I asked for the exchange. He worked with his manager to exchange the one I just bought! He went above and beyond any of my expectations and made the exchange quick and easy! Thanks for a great experience. Quick, easy and all while my child was distracted by their siblings.

2021-09-07Great layout, I love what Target has done to their mens care product area. The razors in display, and soap selection is great. This area is easy to navigate and very inviting.

2021-08-19We had our small grandkids with us at Ithaca store and Stacy and Heather could not have been more help. They treated the children as if they were the most important customers and people in the store. Incredible service. target should be proud. Our cashier (Angelica, I believe) was also at the top of her game and even helped make the little ones smile.
