Target in other cities:
I went to the new Target on 86th over a week ago and found it amazing. Looking forward to going back again. While I was there I went looking for an Item that my son had found in another target, and as hard I could not find what I was looking for. I ask some of the very nice young sales there but they were not able to help. Anyway my son went to your 86th street store today and found the item I was looking for. One of those lovely salesperson that I had show them the picture and walk around the store with me looking for the item saw to it that you got them in. Thank you who ever you are I’m very happy. With my Ecotools dual cleaning pad.
This place is one of my favorite Target 🎯 in town! 🛒 Always stacked, organized, and clean. This location never has a line and you cant compete with the cheap Target prices. 🏷️ Really obsessed with their Good & Gather product line - super high quality with affordable prices. Staff is really nice and professional! Self-checkout is so quick and easy. I wish it they had more meats 🥩🍖🍗and vegetables 🥬🥦🍅🌽🥒 at this location!
Everyone is lying about this store it’s messy and empty this store has too much walk in traffic to keep anything on the self. If your a parent avoid this store the section of clothing and baby supplies are low. This is a target convenience store complete waste of a trip.
A huge store with alnost everything a target can have.Parking is not free.I went for an online order pick up and ended up spending 30 min in the store. I had to pay 3$. It was worth considering such an easy accessibility to the store with no worries for parking. The store here needs to keep maintaining emptly carts in a common place outside especially during rush hours. I found the carts scattered around with locked wheels.
Their website said they had ski masks, they didn’t. An employee downstairs told me the ski masks were upstairs, so I went upstairs to check. Couldn’t find any so I asked an employee upstairs where they were, and he said “Look downstairs or we don’t have them.” I said that an employee downstairs had told me they were upstairs, to which he replied “Then we don’t have any. check the halloween section downstairs.” I went downstairs to check the halloween section, and couldn’t find it. I asked an employee where the halloween section was. They didn’t have one.
This is a very small Target to the point where its not worth going to if youre shopping for something in particular. They had very, very few packs of socks in stock, for example, and almost no variety in types. Also, I was looking for Suave for Men body wash, a common brand, and they didnt carry it, and their pet food section was incredibly limited. The store is nice, but dont go here expecting to do a full shopping trip
If I can give I zero stars.. I would.. this is the first and last time I will come to this store. I did an online pickup and I waited in line for over 10 minutes. Then I told them I got a bag but the worker said they automatically charge it and that was it. I told her they normally charge it and credit it back but she said she pressed it and said nothing she could do. I am so annoyed because I had to wait do long and they charged me for the bag which I didnt need or wanted.
Its a smaller target. Not much there. Its semi clean. I didnt find anything I was looking for there, Tide 128 FL Oz. They only had the small ones. No Clorox. It was a waste of time, gas, and parking. The targets that are big, and can find most things are on 225th and the one of the Hutchinson.
I’m only giving this Target a 5 star cause of 1 cashier. Susan. Omg, she’s so great at her job. I go to the store once in a while and the times I get on her line, she’s so funny & sweet. She reminds me of my mom and she’s so helpful. I can tell she truly cares about her job and customers.
Good store but the staff has poor customer service, the staff don’t great anyone at the door, they don’t say goodbye either. They just stand there chatting with eachother. The other works also seem miserable to be there. Managers need to train their staff customer service skills
Disappointed in this target, 5 stars to the staff.I went to buy a last minute gift for a 2 year old girl (a doll), but the dolls section only supported one type of color, which I can careless what color the dolls are. But It should be a variety of choices. I asked one of the team members if there were any other dolls besides the ones I see she said no. I know target goes based on the area but this is also a working area with different types of cultures. This target is cool if you need food and cleaning supplies!
I spoke to one of the managers the other day. They have been ready to open but they have not received final approval from the city. They been ready for so long that some of their food expired and they started donating other food items before they expire. Target has been unsuccessful getting the final approval from the city. Or to get the city to tell them when to expect final approval. I understand the frustration on the community side as a new resident and thought I would share the information I just happened to receive.
In terms of selection, this store is way closer to being a Duane Reade than what you’d expect from Target. In fact, there are definitely Duane Reades that are both larger and carry a wider variety of stock than this store. No more than 8 racks of clothes total (most of which was for infants). Two floors, neither of which is larger than an average NYC pharmacy. Didn’t stay long enough to see if they had groceries or electronics (I did see a home goods aisle). It may be good for some things, but a friend and I went in looking for a diverse array of items you can buy at literally any Target and this location didn’t even have the relevant departments for any of them
Small selection of a little bit of everything, so basically what they had was nothing. Shoppers were rude, the checkout situation was beyond aggravating and disorganized, you could only get me to visit this location again if the world was ending and Jesus Himself had come to me personally and told me I had to go buy something from there or I wouldn’t be allowed into heaven.
Id like to speak to the store manager about so called store policy regarding touching/carrying locked products to the register. Normally I love shopping at this store, but I had not one but two incidents at the store today that I really wanted to address. I dont normally call out stuff like this, but it was pretty obvious today that something was wrong. I asked to see an electric toothbrush that is locked in the case. The first store rep that I asked made me walk all the way over to the case to show her. Then told me that she couldnt help me because she didnt have a key. Then why walk over there if you dont have a key?The second store rep that shows up opens the case. I ask to see what model it is and she tells me that I cant touch the box because of COVID restrictions. I wearing a mask and not coughing or anything but I cant even touch it to make sure that its the right model. The store rep cant find the model # because she doesnt know where to look for it. I decide to purchase it anyway and she tells me she has to take it up to the register and I can pick it up there. Store policy, right? Ok. But wait, theres more. I decide to not buy it just then and do a little test. My wife goes back about 30 minutes later and asks for the same item. She is allowed to not only touch the box, but she can also walk from the downstairs to the upstairs registers with it in hand. If this sounds strange, lets clarify, Im black, my wife is white. Im wondering which is the true store policy, because I have had to do the pickup at register many times before. Also, check the website for your purchases before you go because there can be a $5 difference for items that you pick up in store versus purchasing in store. I noticed this on two dental waterpiks that I was interested in and they were unwilling to change the price.
UPDATE: The staff is not cleaning the self checkout stations between customers. You might want to use the full service checkout or shop at a different store. Also, a lot of necessities are not on the shelves (toilet paper, Lysol, organic milk etc). They are having inventory issues. Maybe you wont need to checkout if there isnt anything to buy.****************************************************This is a small Target. Does not carry the full line but it is new and shiny.(TARGET DURING THE PANDEMIC) Target has really come through. It regularly stocks high demand items such as hand sanitizer and brand name toilet paper during the pandemic. It does not price gouge and even price matches the online prices. For example, I found Charmin toilet paper at Target for $14.99, the clerk adjusted it to $12.99 (the online price). Morton Williams charges $26.99 (lower from $29.99 they were charging 2 weeks ago) and Rite Aid charges $18.99 for the same item, if you can find it.Target was selling 8 oz bottles of generic hand sanitizer for $2.49. The deli on Second and 69th offered something half the size for $10.00.This is the way to build brand/store loyalty.
Always Busy! They do need to be more Covid Cautious and place and enforce arrows for directing traffic in Ailes either on the floor or as a stand...looking back it was too many people coming at you in all different directions! But they did have two Christmas trees left!
Very clean, friendly staff, nice new store. I was able to order something online and pick it up in store. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that hours listed are inaccurate. I walked there to pick up my order around 7 pm one evening and despite the hours on the door, online, and on the phone saying they were open until 9 pm, they were closed.
I think it’s ridiculous people gave it 1 star for “not being open yet” it just opened today (10/16/19) so take this for what it’s worth - but it’s clean, prices are cheaper than regular manhattan prices and it has cashiers if you want someone to ring you up and self check out if you don’t. Recycling plastic bags is a huge plus!
We are big fans of Target.I was sad when I walked all the way to this location only to find that it is more of a selective Target than a full complete Target. By that I mean they only have the essentials. The clothing section is VERY limited and primarily the newest Women’s selections. They had an abundance of children’s socks and underwear - but that was it. When you go downstairs you will find household necessities as well as food / snacks / grocery section. Fairly cramped. I was naive in my mindset I had going in their as I am used to “suburb Targets”.
More a grocer than anything else. I believe this is the smallest Target in the US. As a grocer in this neighborhood it brings something highly desireable, good/reasonable prices and even a small selection of fresh produce. The house brands are also a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The young staff are diligent in these first weeks.
Decent Target store in the heart of the Upper East Side with a reduced selection of items unlike the much larger store in Harlem. You can find most items stocked here. They also have a funky giant vault door next to the escalators, the reason for which is unknown, but glad they left it in as it adds character to the place.
I go to Target on East 70th St. Always got to the self check out, and for the weirdest reason the people walk behind me as if I was suspect to stealing something. This makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. I am a Senior Citizen and its so Disrespectful that the employees do such a thing. This complaint will go to the BBB. Afraid for my well being, Or is it a Racial Profile issue. None the matter will take it to the BBB.
This is by far the worst target i have ever been to. The prices are absolutely outrageous. I have 0 idea who decided this was a good layout for a target. Every section is like 10% the size of a normal target. Definitely a better use of your time to go to the one in herald square
A small store, especially on 1st floor. Very tiny clothing line but I like the 2nd floor the grocery area. The snack prices are very reasonable. Clean. But a lot of merchandise on 1st floor is similar to other prices within that area and the protein bars are very very expensive for that area like 7.00 a box.
Given the prices on the upper east side that seem like robbery to many incomers to the neighborhood, Target provides a break for those who are used to regular prices compared to other stores in the area. I used to live in Brooklyn where grocery prices are 30-40% percent less than supermarkets here such as Gristedes. Most people here don’t even look at prices when shopping, I noticed.
Need a last minute card for grandmas 87th birthday? Or maybe that cookbook you always wanted but never had time to buy? Then this Target is for you! With a compact location with only the needed, you can easily get what you need, and fast. I would recommend for any small shopping trips, but maybe hold back on trying to stock up for winter. One key feature of this Target is that the entire bottom floor is basically a shopping market, allowing you to get oreos and that scooter in one go. Happy shopping!
Smaller of course than standard, but it has most everything youd need. Food, hygiene+makeup, cleaning supplies, small homegoods section (towels, sheets, pillows, organizers, and kitchen goods), school/office supply, baby section, very small clothing section and holiday sections.

2022-05-27I went to purchase 2 items and seen MOST shelves was empty. The dog treat section literally had only 3 bags left and the ink for printers section had literally only 5 left. I went to other stores to see if they where low on ink like target is. The clerk told me people outside are stealing the items which is hard believe because its a decent area.

2019-10-17The store is open and have more things than I expected. They have two floors, street level and basement, which has fresh fruits and vegetables looking surprisingly good. Definitely coming back.

2020-01-12Target makes a lot of sense in the suburbs or exurbs where you need to drive to any store, and having a single large store with all of your basic needs is convenient. This Target on the upper east side of Manhattan doesn’t serve any purpose. It has some food, but there are full supermarkets less than two blocks away in two directions. It has toiletries and cosmetics, but the streets are already dotted with Duane Reades. It has housewares but the apartments here are so small you don’t need much, and it’s easier to buy online and have things delivered. And there’s some hideous clothing made with synthetic materials, but come on, this is Manhattan. The only play I can see is to try compete with the Duane Reades and bodegas, but the store is too large for that, and no one is going to go out of their way when you can get the same generic stuff closer.

2022-02-03Really bad. Lots of homeless people with carts, Bullseye Playground filled with items that are not apart of it, trying to overcharge.. no products on shelves. Terrible layout and employees.

2022-01-17Came here for the first time and the cashiers/customer service were very friendly! First time changing a refill for my soda stream and we confused them at first but they made it a easy process.

2020-10-14Store has barely anything but masks. Seriously, how many masks can you buy? I can purchase masks now in every single NYC store, but no flip flops anywhere.

2022-02-11Very convenient to have a Target in the Upper East Side although can be expected that the selection is not as vast as other stores in the boroughs where they have more space

2021-08-31Good experience for a first time visit. Went to lower level to check health area. Everyone was friendly and directed me to the proper aisle. Found Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides that is usually out of stock in a 10 oz. size unflavored. Made my day! Also picked up Skinny Pop.

2021-06-14This was my first time shopping in this little tiny Target on the upper east side ( Or is that Midtown east). Anyway all the worker I came in contact with was super friendly and helpful. The place was fairly well organized considering the amount of things they try to put in a small space. The gentlemen manning the self-checkout was super helpful. He honored the 20% discount that was advertised on the rack I picked up the dress I was buying even though it was a clearance item and supposedly did not belong on that particular rack. That is what I call customer service.

2021-07-07Its a cute Target, but its definitely limited in comparison to other Targets Ive been to. I was able to find most of the things I needed but was surprised at how small the store is. However, all the staff were nice and the place was clean so no complaints on my end.
