10 Years ago this place was one of the best restaurants in the area, Now this place is a Joke, dirty all over, windows, floor, tables, even plates; Need to hire a manager with real knowledge running business, food is twice price and less portions than competitors, but the worst is not the food, the worst is the customer service, 10 mins to bring menus, 30 mins for drinks, they have not idea of what they doing, employees been trained in a garage, and they force to charge tip, gratitude or whatever they call. Not coming back to this place, hope they close soon, feel bad for other customers with bad service.
My husband and I haven’t been to this place in about 3 months and There service was not at all how it was before there’s only 2 waiters and all the tables where full the food was ok one of the lady’s forgot to put in my order so we had to wait even before this we waited 20 minutes for someone to take your order and then we had to wait 15 minutes to pay for the food to be truly honest I liked the place before now it’s no even worth coming here anymore. It’s sad tbh no great service at all
Went today with my family from NJ was told it was a great place to eat. But honestly the food was horrible , service was bad I feel as if I was forced to tip these people for bad service. Drinks were great cant complian about that also out of evreything we ordered the only thing that was good was the Salchipapa who can mess that up. Right ? . Wouldnt recommend to anyone looking for good food.
My friend and I went for free frozen margarita day and it was a hit! The bartender didnt skimp on the freebie, and our next round was well-priced. I had a massive bowl of encebollado that I could drink out of the bowl. The next time I visited them was at Worlds Fare at Citi Field, and my friends and I got cheese arepas that were OUT OF THIS WORLD. They make them a little sweet, and I could eat 20 of them.
The workers in that place are rude as ever. I just wanted to buy a morocho and an empanada, but the workers decided to ignore me and go straight to other customers who came right after me. I was just standing there waiting for them to take my order, but they still ignored my presence (Mind you I was right in front of the 2 ladies who were working there) and served more customers who came after me. Not pleased whatsoever
During a cold turn recently I found myself shivering as the winds under the seven line sliced through my coat and layers. I quickly set out to find a cafe to warm my bones and restore myself before carrying on. I stumbled across The Pequeno Coffee Shop, which bills itself as an Ecuatorian cafe and restaurant. The decor is breathtaking with burnt inlay woodpaneling depicting animals and scenes from nature all over. There is ample seating room and the staff spoke both Spanish and English. I tried to the hot cocoa, which came unsweetened and I could add sugar to taste--I like not having the choice made for me, so this was a big plus. I also sampled their beef empanada, a pocket made with a yucca (cassava) dough and seasoned pulled beef inside. It was delectable, tasted of garlic and cumin, while standing up to the fresh salsa served along with it. The slice of orange added to my plate tied my hot cocoa to my empanada so well I felt like I had a full meal. Despite this feeling, I looked with great envy at the fragrant and sizzling platters of meat, vegetables and other foods served to neighboring tables. I will definitely return there to make it a frequent stop.
The presentation is good rustic but the food is very bad, we ordered the appetizer and they brought us along with the food after an hour that even the coffee got cold, the mixed green ball is more oil than horrible green !!! The baddest fried rice with grilled chicken, the dry chicken. I do not recommend them. The ribs of beef salty and burnt.
The restaurant was completely dirty, I asked for a cheese matured and they brought it to me with mayonnaise on the plate, when I told them the only thing they answered is that it is part of the decoration, since we only asked for that plus a coffee and a soda made us feel uncomfortable, the dirty baby seat, the dirty glass, we will never return to The Little Cafe again
Food its ok but the service is awful. Every time Im in this restaurant the waiters are in bad mood and act like you are bothering them, and like they do not want to be working at this place. And in top of that when you order something to go the charges you 15% gratitude whit out telling you BEWARE OF THIS THEFTS!Places like this give the Ecuadorian community a bad nameThe food is good but the service is bad. Every time I go to this restaurant the waitresses are with a bad attitude, its as if they bothered to take the order, and as if they would not like to work there. Now they are stealing people who buy food to take 15% of supposed gratitude without telling them anything and when you complain they tell you that it is a mistake because it is added only to the account.BE CAREFUL AND REVISE YOUR RECEIPT WHEN YOU BUY WHERE THESE THIEFS.Places like this give a bad reputation to the Ecuadorian community
I suggest everyone not to eat here. I went to dinner with my partner, and not even a minute sitting were asking what we wanted to eat. May I read the menu? We ordered and that was the last time we saw the waitress. Forget it if you want water or another napkin! Settle for using the paper tablecloth! 😂 First drinks: passion fruit margaritas. Very bitter. We ordered grilled brisket and dried goat. Chicken was more or less. Dry goat very hard and salty. And if you want another drink, forget it. Waiting more than 25 minutes for the waitress to ask for the check, without service there would be no more orders from us 🤦🏻♀️. Finally we had to find another waiter who helped us get the check, since after so long we believed that the food was free 😂. Horrible service. Talking to friends who saw my check in and who have tried to eat there they told me the same thing happened to them. Horrible service, because they add their tips in the check and they do not feel that it is necessary to work more than to put an order and to put my incorrect set of dishes. (The knife was put in front of me) I heard around there that the owners keep 75% of the tip 😱 maybe thats the reason for the lack of customer service?Instead of giving better service and selling us more drinks, coffee, bread or dessert, lose the restaurant and tip. 🤷🏻♀️ I do not believe in second chances and reading all the restaurant reviews, they always with the same answer these years, we improve blah blah blah, The beauty of the culinary line is that it is so wide that the palates always have different opinions that we always respect and appreciate -El Pequeno Restaurant. And they wont see me return 😂. I wish I read them before entering 🤦🏻♀️. Maybe this review helps another person avoid this experience. Dont waste your TIME or SILVER here. #elPequenorestaurant. There are several other Ecuadorian restaurants with better food and service in the area. Happy Holidays and have a great day!
Very bad, the food is delayed, hairs come out in the food, and outside of that they demand MANDATORY TIPS of 15% and they do not face it, all the employees go into the restaurant and say nothing. VERY BAD AND DID NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONEOut of that bravos that because we demand a change of bill, it hurts such bad service.BAD SERVICE 😡👎CUSTOMER SERVICE
When I went to this place I waited 15 minutes at the tables outside that the waitresses never served and I sat inside the paisa tray, they only gave me a piece of meat and a piece of pork rinds, rice and beans, and thats all the price is expensive for the simplicity of the plate
Casual restaurant, price a bit high for the service they offer.Small space, at times you feel overwhelmed by the little space to move, you can even see what other diners eat or listen to their conversation topics. In general there is something that makes it different or that attracts attention, it is a restaurant with regular food where you can go from time to time.
Very good food !!Reasonable prices for lunch, its a shame that the service is so bad, I run out of my drink while I eat and they are not waiting to ask me for another, in the soup they give me a dirty spoon and they do not apologize, the attitude is as if they wont like what they do.
Very bad and expensive, 100% disappointing I bought some green empanadas and they gave me a lot of dough cooked in water, it had no traces of being fried in the same way as the green empanada itself, one was only reheated in the microwave, hot On the outside and inside frozen they lied to me because they told me that the dough is already ready and that they were preparing them at that moment and it is not like that bad bad this place
I do not recommend this place. Since they changed owners, the food is no longer the same. The waiters do not attend well they see that they are in a bad mood. And the prices are too high for a meal that is not. Horrible !!!!! They add their tip in the account that is that.
The food is good, but in my opinion the price is very high, the place is almost nothing in Ecuadorian and the new waitresses should be given some courtesy classes and explain that when they go to the clients table they do not come with food in the mouth ,, X Example ,,
The worst day of my life!! I found a roach in the food. The worst thing of all was that when I asked for the bill my order was included, when I asked the girl he told me that I had already eaten half of it ... I didnt know that I would find the spoon cuchara ... Wait for me something better of this place because of appearances you looked at a clean and pleasant place but appearances are deceiving..And I never received an apology which is what bothered me the most😡😡😡😡 10-08-17 ..
Wait 30 min for a waitress to come and they never took the letter to me and they passed in front of me and they didnt even say to me out of cordiality, we will attend you oh something like that!It gave me a lot of courage and I left and they only stared at me, they never gave me service, I called to speak to the manager and the one who answers the phone told me that he would not attend to my complaint with pleasure and I told him to his face that I hope they learn to provide service there was a chubby girl one with short hair and glasses and one who did not leave the area where the long-haired caunter is

2019-12-24We came here because looks very crowded. Asked for a mix of meats, chicharrón and some plantain with beef. After a wait of 30 minutes the food was in front of us, to be honest looks good, tastes kinda good... but after leaving the restaurant my wife and I started feeling really bad. The beef in the plantain had something in it because we got sick, real sick.First and last time here. The attention wasn’t good. The wait time was too long. The food tastes good but makes you sick. They charged the tips without even ask.

2019-07-06Great food and service. The Entrana and Churasco are amazing. They literally have the best flan in NYC. The drinks are also great with my favorite being the mango mojito. Make sure to order the flan if you go here. Still come here weekly 2 years later.

2019-06-23Nice looking restaurant, but the food took forever to arrive and I dislike how my food was plated (on a regular steel pan), Im guessing theyre trying to make this a thing but it made me so umcortable to eat from there, & the chicken tasted burnt and dry. Not worth the price.

2018-01-15Love their food and service from staff. Their food is pretty authentic and similar to food from Ecuador. Bolon de verde and bistec a lo pobre with tomate de árbol juice.

2017-11-04I came in here for just a cup of coffee but was pleasantly surprised by the menu options. Im not well-versed in Ecuadorian cuisine, however, I was drawn by the menus statement that they wish to bring the cultural and natural flavors of the basic dishes from their country into Jackson Heights.I have only been here twice, but I will definitely come again. My first time here was definitely ovulation. I absolutely had to come back and bring my husband to experience it as well. On my second visit I tried a different dish. I have no doubt that would ever menu item you try you will be very happy. Im planning to come here yet again... That will be my third time this week. Im bringing two girlfriends to experience the wonderful flavors. Ive never had such fine dining for breakfast. Ive always been a staunch believer in diners in the morning. This is an experience and breakfast you will not want to miss. And for the price it is so worth it!

2017-11-22Very good Ecuadorian food! We went almost at 10pm for a late dinner and, even though the shakes were not available, the food was awesome. The prices are reasonable and the service was great. Definitely going back.

2018-12-05Great spot for a good Ecuadorian soup...I came here a couple years back and it was a dive, kinda ghetto looking..now I see they remodelled, they have a bar and the bathrooms are nice and clean. they also stepped up their game in their food presentation and service, only thing, all these improvements raised the price of the plates, but for a good day out its comprable with the local restaurants. unless you take your date to the food truck around the corner that serves the same food, but u have to eat in the street with the bums, and standing up lol.
