Great tea with lots of selections, and you can take a sip before you take away! The osmanthus oolong milk tea is really good, refreshing flavor with floral ascent.Although it only allows one party to enter the store for ordering currently, and you might need to wait for a bit to get your drink, but it worths a short wait!A recommended boba store in the area!
This place is so special! I come here every time i come to Chinatown. The tea is amazing and its certainly prepared with a lot of love and craft. it takes a bit of time because its usually just one person, but it is calming to sit inside the shop and admire the little plants and wall decorations while he prepares the drink (and he even lets you sample it before giving the full drink)
As a Taiwanese who’s big on to-go tea, I was looking for a store that would serve quality drinks. This store was great! The staff made us sample the drink before creating it fully. Amazing service and drink. The bobba was also cooked well with the right sugar level. Will come back when in this area.
Absolutely love this place. Best boba place in Chinatown in my opinion. The owner makes each drink and gives you a sample before making the whole drink, allowing you to make changes (not that you will need to, he does a great job of describing and helping you decide if you have questions). Boba is well made and sweet. Definitely coming back very soon and every time I am in the area
Unexpectedly amazing spot! Ordered some Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea and a Winds special with passion fruit and black tea. The service was top notch, and I probably will not see anything like it in a long time. The experience is quite unique since you get to try your tea before it gets poured into its cup.The wait could be a little long, but that is to be expected as taking good care of customers takes time.Just be patient and you will be rewarded with amazing tea!
Very extensive menu with all sorts of possible customizations! I got the peach and orange juice with green tea base and lychee jelly for $5.55. Slight bitterness of the tea was a nice kick I miss from other stores. Good quality for reasonable price. The man working there was so patient and sweet; he offers you a sample of your order, and also hand sanitizer if you pay in cash to keep your hands clean! Store interior was also well decorated and cozy. Will definitely come back again if Im in the area.
Awesome, awesome tea shop! The tea tastes super fresh and the store experience is great because they let you taste samples with your choice of sweetness level before deciding upon your final drink choice. This is not a common experience in bubble tea shops so it really feels like a tailored experience!
They had great customer service in a cute little space. They even remade a drink when it was barely strong enough. I have only had one tea there and it was not great. No tea taste, all milk & sugar. The staff was very kind though, I am unsure if I would give it another try.
Very impressed by the tea. And the topping of Aloe was real Aloe, not some Aloe-flavored jelly. The service inside was very thoughtful - I was given the opportunity to taste before they sealed it.The shop seems understaffed. It took me about 30 minutes to be served when there were only 4 people in front me. I did notice one guest came out of the door with a humongous bag of stuff. I can tell the manager took each cup of tea very seriously. I appreciate that but would not go there again if there is a line outside.
Amazing service, high quality tea, and hand crafted.I ordered their matcha milk tea with red bean. I originally ordered 50% sugar, but then he let me taste test it before the order came out. After a few more taste testing, I left with 75% sugar. The service was the best I had in such a small tea shop. For the drink, it was very pleasant. The matcha was strong and the typical bitterness was lessen with a hint of sweetness. Combined with the red bean is an amazing combination. The red bean was soft and slightly sweet. Perfectly warm for the upcoming winter.
One of my most favorite places to get boba tea in Manhattan. The shop belongs to a very nice young couple who make everything from scratch so everything is very fresh. They only have one location in Chinatown, so every time I go, I buy 4 drinks at a time to last me for the week! Yes, thats how much I love the tea here. Its a hidden gem in Chinatown. @traveleen_gurl
This place is awesome! The owner is very personal and will help you craft your tea depending on what flavors and feel youre craving. The tea is delicious, and the experience is tailored for each customer. Wait times can be longer due to the personalization - I recommend going on weekday evenings as I find theres no line up or wait. Regardless its worth the wait and experience!
I came here for the very first time and it was also during a date with a girl that I really like. The atmosphere is very comforting and the staff is super nice. One very unique thing about this bubble tea shop is that they let you do a taste test of the drink you ordered to see if you like it. I love it
I like to support individual owned businesses. Teado is great , the owner tailors your drink to your likes. He is friendly and makes the teas fresh. Sometimes there is a wait but I highly recommend. Many different teas and toppingsI love the taro tea with black or jasmine green.
Excellent experience! Felt like I was getting a show, he even offered us a sample before serving our drinks! Probably the best bubble tea I have had on this side of the world, so flavorful. We had the passionfruit green tea and brown sugar milk tea, you can’t go wrong! Can’t wait to come back next time i’m in nyc!
This place does not disappoint! They truly care about the craft of their tea. He even had me try the tea before he packaged it up to give to me. They want you to be happy. I got the oolong tea with clouddo cream. The tea was from Real leaves, you can taste it, and not from powder. Super rich in flavor.
Stood out from other bubble tea shops for me. Not just a drink, but a proper cup of tea. Tea strength can be customised, and I can really taste the tea flavours. They let u taste the tea to make sure youre happy with the sweetness too. Will definitely be coming back here. Staff was so friendly and helpful.
This is literally the best boba/tea spot I’ve ever had. No CAP. I would marry that man if I could. Sparkling tea was refreshing and the black sesame oolong was so good. Everything we have tried is delicious so don’t be afraid to try new flavors esp since they give you a sample before you get your drink! You can adjust if you don’t like and it’s just a perfect place.
Walked by the store and saw a 4 person deep line and decided to check it out. We waited for about 30 minutes before we got our order in as there was only one person making the bubble tea. “It better be worth it” and it truly was. The attention to perfection and letting you taste the tea before they complete the order was a really nice touch. We had three orders and every single one was perfectly made. Fresh, flavorful and the right ratio of toppings to drink. One of the best bubble tea I’ve had anywhere in the world.
Delightful little shop with all around delicious tea! Lovely atmosphere and impeccable service. All the drinks are freshly brewed and made to order, its fantastic the way they give you a small sample of your drink just to make sure its made exactly to your liking. Ive ordered many items off their extensive menu and theyve all been tip top. Cannot recommend this charming spot enough, do yourself a favor and go!
Try one new milktea store. The little store is cute. I very very very love this kind of milktea. It has a very delicate layer of cream on the top. ( I very like this cream. Ps: It is important thing say three time. 😋) With pudding in the milk tea.(Pudding is different from other homes. It tastes like corn.)It also has many different flavors of milk tea, as well as snacks. I can try another next time.
Owner was very patient and nice. This place honestly havent changed in quality since I was last here almost 10 years ago. Tea is still fragrant and strong which was what made me fell in love the first place. After making your drink, a sample is offered to make sure its at the level is sweetness you want. 10/10 would recommend this over bubble tea chains.
I love the atmosphere of the place, very ghibli-esque and they have nice soft music playing in the store. The owner is very attentive to customers needs as he was able to adjust the sweetness of the bubble tea to my liking, since I dont like my tea too sweet, so customer service is def 11/10 for me ! Highly recommend and bring your friends! You wont be disappointed :)
This place is awesome. I want to start by saying thank you to the owner. He was so patient with me and explained all the different types of teas. Just to make sure I was happy he allowed me to try it. I brought 5 teas because they were all so good. This place is a must go.
I really like this bubble tea shop. Been coming here since they opened. They have a good variety of teas (whole leaf). When you adjust the sugar level of your teas the owner asks if you want to try it before they pour it into the cup so they give can adjust it to your liking. They also have onigiris, most are 3 for $5.20, very filling.
Possibly my favorite bubble tea place in all of NY! As far as I can tell, this is a small privately owned business, not a chain like most of the bubble tea places around here, and it really shows. The shop has a lot of personality with eclectic and interesting decorations, the owners really put their heart into this place. The tea is very good and they have a variety of different teas you can try, including fresh brewed (have not tried yet but it is on the menu). As others have mentioned, they give you a sample to try before they finish making the tea so you can adjust the sweetness if necessary, which is also great. I havent seen that attention to detail anywhere else. The staff are very friendly and the tea is fairly cheap. They also take credit cards with no minimum which is rare for this area. Only very small downsides are that the place is small so it gets crowded at times, and they only do small sizes. Very recommended!
I was visiting from Philly and we have nothing as good as this place. Ive visited lots of bubble tea shops, yet I never had such an rich and authentic taste from a cup of tea. I got the passion fruit which had the perfect blend between sweet and bitter, and my friend got the milk tea which tasted homemade. Places like this which value quality, taste, and attention to detail are a rare gem. Theres lots of chains and competitors for bubble tea, yet theyve really set themselves apart. Ill make sure to stop by whenever Im in town and recommend to friends and family!
I brought my kids here for their first bubble tea experience, three years ago. My daughter fell in love with bubble tea since that first sip, and we went back to Teado during a visit to NYC. After visiting many bubble tea shops in the region, I will say that Teado excels with quality tea and great juice varieties. You have no popping bubbles, great boba (texture matters!), and few jelly choices. You can also reduce the amount of sugar. The owners are very polite and you can see they make each drink with care.
I honestly wish I could give this place 6 stars! So many standard and unique choices on the menu and the staff are so kind and helpful when ordering. I got a cold jasmine green tea with tapioca purls and asked for no sugar. They explained to me that the jasmine flavoring comes in a syrup that has a little sugar in it. They then let me taste the tea at various point while they were making it so double check that it wouldnt have too much sugar in it - so considerate!! On top of that, its a super cute store with reasonable prices :) I make a point to go whenever Im in the neighborhood!!
Favorite tea shop in the world. The minute you enter the vibes are calm af & the decor is so cute and quirky. Miyazaki vibes. The owner lets you try your tea and adjust the sweetness if you want. The menu is super legit and they offer a ton of teas you’d see in a tea shop in Taiwan. I always get the tie guan yin with clouddo cream! 😍
I’ve been coming here since the place opened 10 years ago. Unlike other bubble tea shops with PT workers, the store proprietor makes each drink himself. He is meticulous and consistent in making every order. My favorites are the green tea matcha, almond and sour plum. If you want a bite, try his onigiri rice balls: come with handy gloves for the finger food.
I don’t often leave reviews for places. But I had to leave a review for this place. Where they stood out was not only the quality of their teas, which are delicious, but how conscientious and kind, and how much they cared about making sure that I as a customer had a great experience. 10 out of 10. Would definitely go again.
Love this place!! The tea tastes amazing and their boba is so soft and tiny, I love it! I got the rose milk tea, matcha milk tea and the coffee claudo and it was all soooo good. Highly recommend and they even let you taste your drink first to make any adjustments! We tried the onigiri as well which was also yummy. Worth the wait!
The teas and snacks are D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! Tea is made fresh. There are plenty to choose from. Doesnt matter if the tea is hot/cold with or without toppings. Ive tried so many! Outstanding service and they care about their customers. They ask you how much milk and/or sugar you would like. You can also test the tea before it is completed. The shop is small and cozy. Luv to watch the beautiful angel fish while waiting.
A cozy tea shop with small bites run by one guy. Expect a short wait but its totally worth it. The rose and oolong teas are great options but Im sure every tea on the menu is great since the guy takes his time making it. 25% sugar is way less sugar than 25% sugar at most chain bubble tea spots. The guy also gives samples of your drink before he finishes up to confirm you are okay with the taste and sugar level.
The tea itself is just okay but their service is awesome! The baristas actually let you TASTE a sample of the tea before its sealed in the cup and ensures that everything is to your liking. They are more than willing to adjust it to your tastes. They also have interesting flavors, like this neon green mint milk tea which I honestly dont recommend unless you absolutely love mint haha
Best bubble tea shop ive visited to date. i was surprised the first time i ordered and they let me taste it before committing to the whole drink after cutting the sugar. ive visited this place frequently for years to the point where i dont even need to tell the order anymore. ive moved since, but i still get a drink from here whenever i get a chance.
This is my go to place for bubble tea in Chinatown. The quality is amazing and theres so many options to choose from. My favorite is their rose milk tea but I try something different every time I come here. Best of all they use Lactaid milk in their milk teas so dont have to worry about an upset stomach.
A gem of a place for bubble tea in Chinatown! You can tell the owners take the business of tea seriously here. It is the only bubble tea shop I have been to so far that will ask you to taste the tea for the right sweetness level before handing over the drink. It has a giant menu so there is a drink for everyone here. My personal favorite is the rose milk tea with herbal jelly. If you are in Chinatown and craving for a good tea place, go here!
The best bubble tea spot in the city. Hands down. The owner treats each drink he makes like a chef at a michelin star restaurant. You get to taste it before its ready to make sure its to your liking. Very small space with limited seating. Can get crowded/packed because of its popularity and quality.
Best 👐 bubble 👐 tea👐 place👐ever! Honestly, Ive never been to another place that takes making bubble tea as seriously. Sweetness/flavor ratio is just right. One of the only shops Ive ever been to with a taro milk tea that doesnt have a powdery aftertaste. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
I really wanted to like this place, because they have such a variety of tea and they use actual milk, not powdered milk! I came here on a friends recommendation, and I got the tie guan yin milk tea with boba, no sugar no ice. I really like that I got offered to try my tea for sweetness levels before my drink got sealed and handed to me; no other boba shop Ive ever been to has offered to do that. But sadly, the tea flavor was just not very strong. The bubbles were chewy and good, though smaller than usual bubbles which is fine, and I really enjoyed the real milk. If the tea flavor were stronger, I wouldve been happy. For $4.36 including tax, its on the cheaper side for bubble tea, so at least theres that!
Very tiny shop with maybe a seating capacity of 4.I love Earl Grey and made the mistake of overly customizing it to Earl Grey Black Tea 25% sweet, strong tea flavor. Getting the right combination of sweetness and flavor will requires lots of tries as even after adjusting the sweetness wasnt enough to balance the strong tea flavor.Next time Im just going midway with everything. Unfortunately Teado closes so early compared to the other bubble tea places nearby so I ended up going to the other places multiple times during my trip.
Had someone pick up my bubble milk green tea, so I can only rate the taste of the product. Honestly, it didnt meet my expectation. I had bubble teas elsewhere and I would put Teado at the lower tier. The bubbles were fine; the tea, not so much. It tasted like water-downed tea/ sugar water. Not my cup of tea (hehe), but it was nice to try it out.
Not adding much to the litany of rave reviews but THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Best tea place hands down in terms of quality, atmosphere, care. One guy running the place obviously cares about his product. Only downside is pretty small place so not a place to chill. Come for the drinks you wont be disappointed.
At the current time. This place has a 4.8 star rating, for good reason. Id definitely give it a higher rating too, if I could. Amazing place, amazing tea, amazing owner. Came here randomly during my vacation with my girlfriend on a whim and decided to come here almost everyday. The place is great and he does an amazing job doing what hes doing. I hope this place never goes out of business and this guy gets more done in the future. This is definitely the place to visit if you like boba in New York. I know its going to be a go-to for me every time Im there. Thanks man.
First off they make a really fresh cup of tea. I am a herbal jelly person. They made the best ginger tea, get it with 25% to 50% sugar and less ice. Second like someone mentioned I prefer to frequent small businesses when possible and pay in cash if it is under $10. Even with chains I look into the background of the business and its practice. With small businesses, I hope they are ethical with their practice and in my heart I like to believe the owner is struggling to survive financially not about being rich.
Another local gem, family owned, stands in its own unique style and tea mastery, more customer experience oriented compared to a chained, fast food style Kung Fu tea just around the corner of this one. Huge selection of drinks, they are happy to customize drinks for customers as well. Several choices of appetizers in case youre looking for something to down the tea with.
This place serves quality teas, unlike their local sugary competitors. Like as steakhouse would as you how youd like your steak, theyll ask you how strong and/or sweet youd like your tea. Theyve got a wide selection of flavors and toppings, and they serve some small snacks too. The couple that run the place are lovely people.
I love this place because they customize your drink very well and even let you taste it, OK it, and then give you the full drink. Its a small, but cute shop and can get filled during peak hours. Very few places in Chinatown have the % sugar option and this is great that you can customize it to avoid having an excruciatingly sweet drink. You can even get less ice without having to pay more (yes, some places make you pay more for less ice...counter intuitive?). This is probably my fav bubble tea place in the city.
This is literally the only tea shop in Chinatown worth going to if you want high quality bubble (or whatever topping) tea. They take the extra time to prepare your drink so expect to wait, but it will be worth it. if you just like sugary drinks with mild tea flavors, Vivi or Kung Fu Tea is youre place to go, Ten Ren is great for herbal teas but not so much the leisure tea drinker. Teado is for someone who knows good tea. Their homemade cream makes for some of the best cloudos, I also like their refreshing fruit teas with aloe, and on cold winters I just plunge through their tea stash - irongoddess tea or monkey picked tea are my top recommends for just tea (no sugar). You literally cant go wrong with anything on their menu.
The Matcha Clouddo was great! At first I asked for 50% sweetness, but after I tried the sample of my drink I asked for 75% sweetness. It came with a foam top that made the drink real creamy! Also had the Crab Meat onigiri. The crab meat was fresh and super yummy. Will definitely come back again whenever I’m in NY. :)
There are so many bubble tea places to choose from in the Chinatown region, so this place is one out of the bunch. I wouldnt say they offer something completely different that stands out, but they do offer lots of specials and discounts to attract customers. The staff were friendly and theres hardly ever a wait time, so this is a quick and simple place to get bubble tea. I would recommend the green tea base compared to the black tea they also offer.
The owner is very serious about tea. He will give you a taste before he completes the drink to make sure that you like it. If you buy bubble tea, he will adjust the sweetness disaccording to taste. It always tastes better than the chain shop Kung Fu Tea down the street.
Best Clouddo (奶盖)tea you can find in NYC. I love just a citrus green tea top it with clouddo. The best! If you want bubbles or jelly to go with it is also super delicious. Like others said owner always let you try the level of sweetness first. Top notch service! Very nice decoration~
My favorite place to get milk tea in Chinatown. The half sugar option is perfect and not too sweet like most other shops. The topping options are numerous and cheap, and they have a couple fairly unique flavors. My normal order is the puh er milk tea with grass jelly. The space is tiny with very few side seats and is cash only.
-Owner genuinely cares about his customers! He always gives you a sample of your drink (with your requested sugar level) before he officially hands you your drink :)- All the BBTs are made using lactose free milk!-Would recommend the Unagi Onigiri (rice balls)! They are made fresh on the spot and he doesnt skimp out on the unagi :)-Cards are accepted!Be warned, the wait can be quite long if there are a lot of people. Theres usually just the owner making drinks and it takes a while since he hands every customer a sample before giving them the drink. Ive waited over 20 minutes for my drink when there were only 4 other people in front of me.
It is really tempting to just walk right by this tiny little tea shop and walk right into Kung Fu Tea, which is probably my favorite bubble tea place in New York. Somehow, I was intrigued by their advertisement that they only use Lactaid milk instead of powder.I ordered their Red Bean Bubble Milk and was really happy it has real milk in there and wont make me having stomach problem! The shop is small but they actually care about your health. The price is not bad because my drink is $3.5 and it is pretty standard for a cup of bubble tea. This is the type of local business I would love to support more!
Super cozy and relaxing space. Even though its tiny they manage to pack in a few benches and tables. Its filled with plants and memorabilia and is a pleasant place to stop and rest your feet. They offer snacks at a good price, and all of their drinks are maid with Lactaid whole milk, though youd never know it because they taste so good!
Teado offers customizable bubble tea, a great idea for a tea shop! You choose the amount of sugar and tea and the amount of ice if you get the cold drinks in percentages for each category (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) when you order. The boba are well made and the green tea is of high quality. This place also has a small seating area. Try it, youll love it just as much as I do!
This is the only bubble tea place Ill go to in NYC. They use real tea, not the powered stuff like Kung Fu tea and others. They also allow you to customize the % sugar and use Lactaid milk which wont upset my stomach. It can get crowded during lunch hours so call ahead of time. Theres not much seating inside and theyre cash only.
Pretty good boba place (and walking distance to wah fung).Im a fan of their taro slush with clouddo. Torn between the boba or egg pudding topping. Boba is chewy but tad too sweet while egg pudding is creamy but goes away too quickly haha. Clouddo is really delicious - apparently you can get double clouddo for $1. Might try that the next time Im feeling hedonistic.Ps: to save you from shame, I already asked if you can get a cup full of clouddo. Answer is no

2022-06-29Been to other bubble tea places and the quality beats out every other place. I can taste the difference and I’m not a bubble tea expert by any means. The owner really takes care of you in a professional and efficient way. It’s an intimate experience since only one customer is allowed in the space at at time. He ensures you like the drink with a little taste before he completes it. The only downside is the wait because of the 1 customer at a time policy. This is a take out only place. Will be returning.

2022-06-23I can’t believe I waited 30 minutes for milk tea… and it was only ok. I appreciate the effort to customize the sweetness and strength of the tea inside the shop, but waiting in line for a cup was so boring. We got the sesame MT, oolong MT, rose MT, and assam MT. All were ok, I’ve had better before. They gave sample cups after each adjustment to sweetness. The sesame was a bit gritty and the rest were just fine. I don’t think I’d wait in line again to get this tea, although it is really cheap.I do want to mention that the decor inside is so odd and I love it. Floating iron man behind a picture of an egg? Amazing

2021-10-16Amazing and worth the wait. And we def did wait. 40 minutes in line. But the tea was so nice and the customization was spot on. We sampled it and when I wanted less sugar he fixed the tea immediately for me. It was really nice. I can say happily I would come back and wait again.

2022-02-17The best almond tea I ever had. They use lactaid milk so lactose intolerants like me can enjoy. They didn’t have bubbles though, I went at 11:40 but I got brown sugar jelly instead. The person in charge told me that bubbles are ready at 12:30. I was given a small cup with a sample to try it first so you can adjust your sugar level that was nice. Also due to covid just one person or two are allowed at the time. They also got books if you know mandarin.

2022-05-27Very good tea, they give you tiny samples so you can see how sweet it would be. We ended up not liking one drink and they were super sweet and accommodating. The interior is cute with artwork and books. A lot of options to choose from, and they really go above and beyond. Their prices are good compared to other bubble tea shops. Def worth the wait!!

2022-04-29Probably one of the best boba tea spots Ive been to. Loved my drink, jasmine milk tea - boba was freshly made at noon and the tea flavor shone through. The best part was the service - my friends and I were able to taste what our drinks tasted like before getting the whole cup, in case we wanted to adjust anything. Matcha clouddo was great too! Ive never had that done before and it was a great touch. The onigiri was also really good! Highly recommend!

2022-06-05Had the matcha milk tea with red bean served cold. Very good. I want to try the hot taro milk tea with bubbles next time. 4/9/22: Had the kumquat lime juice (very good, but I can make homemade limeade that tastes similar so wouldnt order again) and the brown sugar latte (but decaf so no coffee in it and with clouddo cream on top) which was excellent and I would order again. 5/26/22: Had the cold grapefruit yogurt drink with green tea base. Its quite good, though the yogurt portion is very minimal. It tastes more like a grapefruit flavored iced tea. 6/5/22: Milk tea clouddo

2021-10-21I like bubble tea where you can taste the actual tea flavor, and teado definitely delivered on that. When I got to teado there was one person ahead of me. That gave me time to read their extensive menu, which was also written in a very tiny font. I got the jasmine oolong milk tea with less ice. The man working the store answered all my questions. And I was surprised to see that the milk used in the milk tea was Lactaid. I was given a sample of my tea so that I could adjust it to my liking. Overall fantastic experience at this shop and loved the care that was put into crafting my drink. The only thing is that wait can be long since it takes a few min to make each drink.

2022-07-03EXCELLENT customer service. Everything on the menu is thoughtful and customizable; they give you a taste of the drink in a little shot glass-sized cup to double check that youre okay with the sweetness. Theyre also very safe and cautious about COVID; only one party goes inside at a time, and they also spray your hands with hand sanitizer. We ordered an iced passionfruit green tea with lychee jelly - the perfect drink for a hot day

2022-05-01Amazing tea!The owner is very nice and polite. He gave me a sample of my tea before making the full size product to make sure you like it.I had rose milk tea with boba, delicious balanced flavor! Recommend!Worth the wait!
