Well, the food was great, too bad we had to eat in the basement.A few weeks ago I made reservation to sit on the deck to celebrate our friend graduating from Social WorK School. The day of the dinner I called to confirm. I spoke with the person who answers the phone number listed on the website, the owner. He said everything was okay. 10 minutes later, I receive a call from Marco the manager saying they made a mistake and are cancelling our reservation due to the fact that they just booked a huge jewish singles event. I am now in panic mood. I call our friend Marg. She is the reason why we picked this place, she is kosher. The owner tells her that we can eat on the balcony and the food will be free, Marco calls me back and confirms that the balcony is ours, but we can also eat in the snooker room in the basement. As people start to arrive, Marco suggests that it would be better for all if our party remains in the basement. Le t us be very clear. This was not a misunderstanding. Misunderstandings do not end with, Thank you for being such a good sport, if you need anything from down there, you just text me and we will send Jessie the waitress to you. Jessie, by the way was fantastic.I would say normally when I am asked by a manager to eat my meal in the basement and stay hidden, I would leave. But there is no normally here. This was the first time. However, we all agreed that for the free food, we would allow the humiliation and remain hidden in the basement. And then the check came.... Any guesses?Food was on it.We called the owner who after some time told the manager to remove some of the food.We paid the bill, left a good tip for Jessie butwould you want to eat at this place?would you want a restaurant that cancels your reservations when they get a bigger party?Would you want to be told the food is free and then have to pay?Would you want to have to eat if you were told to be a good sport and stay out of site? Now I wonder if there is anything or anyone in this photo that makes this restaurant feel justified in treating us this wayLook at our group photo, make your own conclusions.*****in response to the reply from the manager--- notice he did not say that anything i said was untrue.... the part about being told not to be seen outside of his lovely basement, or the fact that we were promised free food, yet when the bill came, he removed some of the food....If I were a manager and someone posted a review where they were told to stay in the basement unseen.. if that were not true.. I WOULD HAVE DENIED THAT IN HUGE CAPITAL LETTERS to show that my restaurant was not a place of bigotry.. funny, he did no such thing
We waited 30 minutes for someone to clean the dirty dishes from the prior diners from our table, and only after I asked the manager. Waited another 10 minutes for someone to bring a menu. Noone did, so we just left. I am happy they are busy, but to ignore diners completely for over a half hour, leave dirty dishes, not bring a menu is ridiculous. The couple next to us said they only got served after walking over to the manager and demanding service and that they had been waiting a long time for their order. You can survive on hype for a while, but eventually your lack of care for your potential clientele will catch up with you.
My experience didnt match any of the other reviews here. I dined here on 12/18/2021 around 9PM-10PM. I was a party of ONE. Yup, just me by myself. After I ordered my food and got my water, zero servers came to ask me if I needed anything else or came to refill my water. They kept serving the tables next to me with groups of 4 people but not one person bothered to wait on me. I waited 20-30 minutes to see if anyone would fill my water or even come around to give me my bill. Eventually I got fed up and I had to walk up to someone and ask for my bill. Then I got my bill and it had a 20% mandatory gratuity. My server then apologized and said theres nothing she can do because she doesnt make those kinds of decisions and offered dessert on the house. 1 Star Review + another star for the fact that she at least tried to make it up to me. Thank you for the experience. I wont be back.
My friend and I were very excited to try out this sushi place as the reviews are amazing. To give them credit, the food is amazing. However, their service is absolutely horrible. Nobody came to seat us, we had to ask. Servers straight up avoid eye contact and didnt want to help any customers and while my friend and I were confused, we understood when we got the bill, which we had to ask multiple times for. They automatically charged a 20% tip for a table of 2. With horrible service. I enjoyed the food but will not be coming to this restaurant again.
Im honestly sad that I had such a bad experience. The servers and waitstaff were nice which is why Im giving two stars instead of one, but the general experience was not good. Our food and drinks took a very long time to come out compared to other tables that came in after us. The food was average quality, we ordered fries as an appetizer and they tasted good but they were hard and overcooked. I ordered a roll and asked how many types of meat I could include in my roll. I was told two meats and as many vegetables as I wanted. I ordered a roll with two meats and like 5 vegetables. My friends got their meals first and the wrong food was brought to me. The server realized and took the incorrect food and returned a few minutes later with food that was closer to what I ordered. However, they brought out two rolls, each with a different meat and a few random vegetables from what I ordered. I thought it was weird that they separated the meat into two rolls when I was expecting one but I didnt ask why. I ate the rolls that were basically falling apart because they werent wrapped tightly and they were still missing some of the vegetables I ordered but I dont like sending food back so I just ate it. Our waiter brought the check and I had been charged for two rolls even though I believed I had only ordered one. This was on top of our long wait, overcooked fries, and me being brought an incorrect order before the incomplete order. Our server told me that I ordered two rolls when I told him that he said I could order two meats in one roll and honestly I was so tired of being disappointed that I paid the extra $17+included gratuity for a roll that I didnt want to order and that was incorrectly made just so that I could leave. This was a really disappointing experience which didnt match my expectations based on the other reviews at all.
Beautiful ambience. We loved the rooftop seating and the unique style of the restaurant. The sushi was good. Some rolls were better than others. We were disappointed that they kept running out of certain foods, like avocado, cauliflower, fried oreos, etc. They really need to make sure they have enough ingredients for a night. Granted they bought more avocado from a nearby store (after we made a stink about it), and they gave us churros on the house because we had already ordered the fried oreos (but that was only after we complained). They really need to hire more waiters. The manager was our waiter and he was nice and tried his best, but he was running around with too many responsibilities. Not his fault of course, but with an automatic 20% gratituity (which is higher than most steakhouses I’ve been to), we wanted a more calm and relaxing experience. In the end, we had a great time and we enjoyed ourselves, but it should have been smoother and more seamless.
Food was excellent. Owner is such a nice guy. Amazing ambiance. Wouldve given 5 stars but the service was terrible. We couldnt get anyone to take our order. Also impossible to get our water refilled. Very surprised that they added a 20% gratuity to a party of two that they ignored.
This restaurant is amazing!!!!They have a beautiful green garden theme with decorative lighting all around. The Sushi was absolutely delicious. Also, if your a french fry lover, get the sweet potato fries (you wont regret it ;-). Definitely coming back here again. Great food and great service!
The service was SO terrible. We had to ask five different waiters for water, they kept confusing our orders, not bringing us what we requested HOURS AGO, not to mention that our waiter was obviously high or drunk and mixed up our bill. The manager was no better and was just hanging out with his friends from what it seemed. The waiter also waited an hour to tell us that one of the entrees we had ordered was unavailable. Very nice ambience and rooftop for a kosher place but over all extremely overpriced and the service is the worst I’ve ever had.
My husband and I got here because of the reviews and the photos of the view and it totally paid off! Unfortunately we were so caught up in the talk and the food that I forgot to take photos but we had the PEPPER TUNA SASHIMI, the NYC ROLL and the CHEESECAKE and it was delicious!! All of it!! I totally recommend it! They also have a good service and a great view!!🥰🤗
I chose this place because there views were great but it was much less than that. This is not a place you go to for good food, its a place for over priced mediocre food.We had 2 poke bowls and it was very disappointing. I expect more than 3 small pieces of fish on a POKE bowl, like how stingy can you be, I feel like I paid $27 for a big bowl of rice! The sesame noodles were bad, it was cold, dry and had a no flavor. The king crab roll was disappointing as well, it actually tastes like fake crab.I feel like it was a waste of a meal. I wouldnt recommend anyone to come here. The only good thing I can say is the service was good and decor was nice.
Went there the other night 11/25/2020. Amazing ambiance and great music in the background. Most of all the food was amazing and well priced for manhattan standards. Highly recommended looking to come back soon.Thank you for giving us an affordable rooftop place to hangout. May you see success for many years to come
If you cannot fulfill orders don’t accept. If you don’t appreciate business mark yourself closed and stop harassing paying customers. I’m spreading word on social media and my company about the terrible experience we have had with you. Cancelling the order after 30 mins of taking it. Unacceptable.**** EDIT****Attached is the proof that order was taken and cancelled. It was held for 30 mins before being cancelled. It even had a dasher assigned. If restaurant is closed why is it accepting orders? And why cancel after so long? Leaving me with even lesser options for food.
Amazing sushi place in the heart of Manhattan , beautifully roof top , great service .food comes out very fast . The fried cheesecake was yummy . Thank you to Adonis for such great recommendations and great service !!! I was there last night he made my hubs birthday very special , very impressed and highly recommended
I literally had one of the best experiences of my life, this place is not a comercial obvious place in NYC, the vibe is very spiritual, the food is out of this world, the service is honest and great, I just moved to nyc and I’ve been all around the world but this place take a place of one of my favorite restaurants in the WORLD.
Kosher sushi restaurant is just great !! Open until 23 at night. We went with the waiters recommendations for appointments and did not regret it. Everything was just great, and the service was great !!The prices are reasonable, not too expensive and not cheap. They add 20% service and taxes to the account.warmly recommended!!

2022-03-15Service was excellent! Location was both lovely and convenient to the NY Rangers game we planned to attend that evening. I was delighted that the sushi was exquisite. I talk a lot. I do. But the table fell silent once the sushi met the table... save for all the Mmmmm noises! Id definitely go back and will recommend to my friends in the City as well as those who frequently take the train in for shows and dinner!

2022-02-205 stars just for Jessie’s service. The sushi was amazing, I totally recommend it, but we had to wait about a half an hour to be served, and the only reason we were was because we caught Jessie’s eye, who was not our original server. Our bottle of wine was delivered to the table unopened by a different server. He returned with glasses, but still no corkscrew. We were in good spirits though, and Jessie shared a laugh with us over the odd experience. To round out the night, we had ordered 3 rolls but only received 2, and after a full 30 minutes waiting for the 3rd, we decided we didn’t want it and had it removed from the bill. Again we’re reviewing only to point out how good Jessie’s service was, and at times it seemed like she was the only one working. Great Food, Ridiculously over priced Wine (14$ bottle for 45$) and only one good waitress. Let’s hope she notices that you haven’t been served by your actual waiter yet, it’s worth the laugh.

2021-11-019 males working, 1 female. The 9 stood around while she did ALL the work. Literally running around while they just stood there. The attached photo shows 6 or 7 of them. I asked a male employee for a roll, and he went to get her instead of putting it in himself, and he 100% could have. Bummer bc the food was delicious and served super fast, despite the waitstaff of one. Jessie was amazing!

2021-12-23Went there for the first time for my mothers birthday and had an amazing experience. Not only was every piece of sushi incredible, they offered us a drink and a dessert on the house. Fantastic food and service, this is now one of my favorite sushi rooftop bar to hang out at before or after the meal was over. Lost for words how fantastic this experience was.

2022-02-20We waited to be seated for 20 min. After being seated we waited for 30 min at our table and no one came to offer us anything, not even water. We made eye contact with the wait staff and we didn’t even get menus or an acknowledgment. We left without being served. Do not recommend this establishment.

2022-06-19We chose a sushi place since we had someone in the group with celiac. Sadly that meant that most of the menu was off limits because for some reason half of their veggies were not safe for her to eat. Quite disappointing since usually sushi places are gluten free friendly.Besides that what we had was just ok but expensive.
