Terminal 5 in other cities:
The prices for this venue are always within reason no matter who the performer is. Ive been here a bunch of times for concerts and everytime Im left with a lasting memory and a great time. The only con I can think of is how long it takes to check inyo any concert so youre not missing any of the shows but I guess in the age of COVID-19 thats kind of standard for any show at the moment. Anyway enjoy these photos from my first ever time visiting Terminal 5 when I saw M.I.A. (1st level) and my most recent time seeing Joji (3rd level). Oh I should mention its all General Admission with random VIP area sprinkled throughout.
Don’t got if you aren’t going early and with a group. There are 3 floors. First floor is a normal concert GA. Second and third floors have rails to look over with 1 section roped off for VIP on each (but there are bathrooms, bars on each level). In the GA spaces, you can’t really see much through that front line. Went for a solo concert, couldn’t get a direct view until I made friends who were closer to the rail.
It’s a mixed bag with this venue. Depending on the artist and crowd, you either get a good staff or a great staff. Coat check coat check coat check still a HUGE issue, especially for winter shows. No reason to have a full hoodie, hat, scarf AND a coat on while the main act is performing without a robust ventilation system. WARNING: The bar keeps the water bottle caps!!!! WHY?!? if anything it encourages more water bottle throwing and potential drugging of drink from any bystander standing next to you. It’s 2022 everyone and I just want to stay hydrated without going to the bar after every act. As always, good luck on a good viewing spot and enjoy the show if you can.
Saw Nightwish, with Beast in Black on Sunday May 8th. My 1st time at Terminal 5. It was a Great show, and this club was a GREAT PLACE to see a band. Up close and personal. Very smooth getting into the venue. The line was around the block to get in. Doors opened at 7 pm. Was inside by 7:30 pm. The employees were very helpful. Will go back again.
Easily the worst venue in the city, which sucks because it’s also the largest club. Sound is god awful, either too quiet or ear-splitting-ly loud, and if you aren’t on the main floor it sounds like a muddy echo-y mess. Sight-lines are god awful just about anywhere. Security is MEAN. Bartenders range from apathetic to nice & chill. Feels genuinely dangerous at times. I don’t know if this place is mismanaged, poorly designed or both. Drinks are ASTRONOMICALLY expensive. Merch booth is in the worst spot imaginable. The only fun part was the posters you could grab off the walls, and they’ve replaced those with digital screens since the COVID renovation. Rooftop was cool but now seems closed for good. Somehow in midtown Manhattan, yet also in the middle of nowhere. This place is unavoidable in the NYC concert scene, but god I wish it was.
For starters, security was kind of rude. Didn’t tell us to empty our pockets until they were yelling at us, which got me very anxious/on the verge on a panic attack! I was luckily able to go into the concert despite a ticket mixup, but had to have a panic attack to have someone help us. The concert itself was fantastic though.
I’ve been here to see Purity Ring in 2016 and Bayside in 2021. Both times this place has given me the greatest experiences. I LOVE the layout and the people who control the lights-fog. Always amazing and of course with the right people- a good duckin time ;)Easy to get through checking in/sec. people in sec and staff are friendly and efficient.
Was here for the Willow and Erys tour this week and genuinely enjoyed it. Line went in quickly and security was fluid without issues. Drinks were fairly priced and the bathrooms were pretty damn clean well. Sound did have a few issues but didn’t bring the performance to an end Sy all so no issues there. Looking forward to coming back again some time for an the performance and actively encourage other to see performances here without hesitation.
Been there 3 times. 2 times in the summer, line moved quick and I was inside the venue within 10 minutes. Last time around it was an extremely cold night, line was slow moving and it went around the block and took around 50 minutes. Noticed many people going up and down the line offering being bumped to the front obviously for the right $price$. Wouldnt surprise me if the door people from the venue ran their side hustle in order to get some extra $ and took advantage of people freezing in the cold. Not cool. Overall the venue is awesome. Expensive drinks, but thats NYC for you.
Last night I had the pleasure of attending Wu Tang Clan, Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers 25th Anniversary tour at Terminal 5. The concert and venue was amazing! I made my way to the 2nd floor balcony, where there is a spacious bar ( youre ID outside, if you plan on drinking) and standing tables to the right. The view of the stage from the balcony is great for videos and pictures. Overall great atmosphere where, I experienced the greatest era in hip hop and saw one of the greatest groups of all time! 🙌🐝🐝
I’ve only been here once for a concert and it was an amazing experience. The venue was great. The show was amazing. The staff were awesome as well. There were a few people who passed out and the staff were super quick to respond which is great on terminal 5’s part. The show I attended started an hour late but I doubt it’s the venue’s fault. And if you’re planning on attending a concert here just be aware that it is quite a bit of a walk from the train station.
Security thorough without being overly burdensome (understandably a tough balancing act sometimes). Several floors worth of event space, including uniquely schematic chambers and hallways. Acoustics reliable. The only issue worth noting is that some upkeep is required in some areas, as the high volume of use has had its wear and tear on the installations.
We went here for the Nora en pure concert. All of the staff were fantastic. From the coat check to the washrooms to the security. They were epic. The security were even handing out water bottles and glow sticks to us in the front to keep us hydrated. Such good vibes. Thank you for the epic New Year’s Eve!
Great music venue! Went there to see Caravan Palace, and was actually surprised to find out how large the space is - looked smaller in photos, but it was actually pretty spacious AND so well air conditioned that it didn’t get hot inside - which was great especially considering most venues get warm and unpleasant with the smell of sweat and weed mixed in (unless you’re into that)
Great venue for club nights and private events.Public entrance on 56th StWorkers/load in entrance 55th stHandicap accessible with elevator for all 3 floors.Roof is being renovated at the moment.Great soundGood dancefloor space with wooden floortall stageGood lightingSeats and booths2 balcony levels surround the dancefloorFast serviceGood security
Terminal 5 is probably one of my least favorite concert venues. For one, unlike many others, it isnt near the subway. Alongside that, their check-in/security system makes it so, if you are seeing an artist with any kind of notoriety, the show will not start on time.So now youre inside, right? Well, I will say that they have a good amount of bathrooms and whenever I have gone in one, they have been clean. Mind you, its one of the first things I do when I get there, so I cant speak to whether touch ups are done once the show has started.Which leads us to the three levels you can view the show. Pretty much, this is the type of venue where, like most Im sure many would say, that makes GA or General Admission a nightmare. You pretty much have to be here early to get a good spot at a railing to see anything. Otherwise, you may have to rely on your camera, or just watch from the various monitors they have setup (some with seating near them, which is a plus).Sadly, there is some sort of VIP/ seating area, but for the concerts Ive been to, Ive never seen tickets for that area for sale, so I guess its strictly for the guest of the artist, press, or maybe the venues employees?Security wise, things are relaxed and you can definitely see smoke rise in the air, depending where you are, and probably get a contact high. This isnt a problem, but when there are arguments or fights, it does seem no one is necessarily close by to squash things quickly. Though, only one time have I ever seen someone fight and, like most fights, it was over quick and they were either escorted out or moved away from the spot where things went down. Tranquility was back in no time.
This was my first time going but I was able to get other peoples opinions as well. I like the venue. I found it a tad small and quite packed. Even others were saying it seemed more packed than most nights. I saw San Holo there. Not spectacular, but decent venue. Wish there were more pockets of air to breathe
Ive been here many many times over the years but am finally reviewing after seeing Midnight Oil this past August. The sound is amazing. I love the rooftop bar. The second floor bartender named Paul was awesome. Wish there were more Pauls there. The girl on the rooftop bar was awesome too. Lots of bathrooms up there...shhh.I suggest getting there early, getting a spot and never moving or you wont be able to see especially on the higher levels. I crawled beneath a few peoples legs and kneeled on the floor to see and get a few pictures, otherwise I just looked at the monitors all night.
I went to this venue for an Eric Nam concert, the concert itself was amazing and Eric was phenomenal as always but I do not like this venue for many reasons1) It is too tucked away.. meaning that it is not in close distance to any subways or public transportation so its really difficult especially at night because its not a short walk to the subways its like 15 minutes and no one is trying to do that late at night2) Its gets very hot and very stuffy inside the venue, someone fainted at the concert, it just has very poor air circulation so you will feel hot especially because people will be pushing up on you3) Its just not in a convenient part of the city it takes forever to get there and backAll in all hoping that none of my future concerts will be in this venue again.
Out of the hundreds of music venues I’ve been to in my life, this is hands down the worse for a laundry list of reasons.1. Awful sound2. Terrible spacing, leading me to believe the venue oversells shows. They also have some sort of VIP section on the second floor but the 3 times I’ve been there it is undersold. If this were opened up more, it would help with the overcrowding on floor level. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT THIS VENUE with the layout and I’ve been to some s#%^ shows with rowdy fans3. Poor layout of entry/exit and merchandise stand. Who thought it would be a good idea to have a merchandise stand in the main thoroughfare for entry/exit traffic? Getting in and out of this place feels like a serious fire hazard and potential for some crowding catastrophe. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT THIS VENUE.I could go on but those are the main points. After 3 visits (for 2 bands I love tremendously) I plan to never return here unless I’m getting paid to do so. I don’t think I’d even come for my absolute favorite group(s).
Ive been here 5+ times over the years. I saw Action Bronson here last night. This venue doesnt know how to run a show. Oversold a show for a top billed artist resulting in there being NO room to stand or move. People were passing out and event staff refused to hand out water to clearly dehydrated people. Terrible sound during an artists set. Rude security. Stressed out staff members from clearly overbooked show. Finally, on the first floor there are so many random pillars, or line of sight obstructions that during a full house it becomes impossible to see the artist perform unless you arrive 2 hours early and push yourself to the front of the crowd.
Went for a kpop concert and had an amazing time. The staff were very nice and helpfull. I have heard a lot of negative reviews about terminal 5 staff and security but everyone i talked to at the even said they were all very helpfull. Also the stage was a lot bigger then how it looked in photos
Great venue. Security is efficient and friendly. They do ask for photo ID & covid vaccination card before entering. They have several bars inside with a price point of $12-15 per beer/drink. The open GA is nice and youre able to get quite close to the performers. Sound quality is nice and altogether had a great time!
Still one of the worst concert venues in NYC.The layout is just horrible, from the entrance to the ballroom to the bathroom locations. The floor for the crowd isnt angled at all, so sight lines are compromised significantly compared to Webster Hall, Brooklyn Steel, Gramercy Theatre for example. Theres large support beams around the sides, so that narrows the viewing area even more. The entry and exit are narrow hallways. This is also where the pretty decent bathrooms are.You cant see anything on the second and third floor balconies unless youre right along the railing. The capacity is still set at 3,000. THIS PLACE CANNOT COMFORTABLY FIT 3,000 PEOPLE. Been saying this for years. There are now two bars instead of one in the back—theres also a couple steps leading up to them. If you can get up right next to/behind the steps (right behind/beside where the lighting crew are), this is actually a really good spot. The sound quality was noticeably better in 2021 than in years prior though, so thats a plus. The location is also a 15 minute walk from the train, which is always a bit of a drag. Especially in the winter.
Small venue which allows a more up close experience with whoever you are watching. We had general admission, standing. I would have preferred to have had the option to be seated but guess they sold.out quickly as there did not seem to be many seated areas. Easy to get to. Parked curb side, which was excellent. And I do recommend seeing George Ezra to anyone who hasnt. 5*s for George!
Dope spot to see live shows. Just recently saw action bronson in the NBA leather tour this past week. Has 3 levels and a open rooftop for those that smoke cigarettes. Since marijuana is legal in Nyc you know the place was up in smoke lol. Best level in my opinion is the third. You get a nice view if you get there early enough and grab one of the spots on the railings that overlook the floor. Plenty of park like benches to sit on the upper levels. Ground level is standing only. Vip is on 2nd and third levels.
Even though it was a cold night in the city that never sleeps. The first time going to terminal 5 dispike of the long line to get inside the place & the wind was blowing hard pause. Ravers, glowers, kandikids, headbanging, etc. New friends great moments exciting time beautiful photos to share all
General admission only. Get there early to get a decent spot. Poorly organized - it took us over an hour to get our coats out of coat check. The sound quality was horrible - better for the main act, but terrible overall. Good drinks, but overpriced; $14 for a malibu bay breeze?
Security was a pain here. I had come to a show after work - after I had picked up medication prescribed by my doctor from the pharmacy. When I was scanned by security, I was told to open my bag so they could check for things. My medication was there in a bag. Sealed. Stapled. The bag and the bottles inside. Even with the tamper proof seals. A female security guard took out my medication from the bag and asked me what it was for? Are they allowed to ask that? I answered even though I felt it was wrong to ask. Clearly my doctors information, my name and the pharmacy were all over my things. After that she open the seal of one of the bottles and proceeded to take out my medication - putting the pills into her hands then holding them up to the light for the other security guards to see? An older guard came over and said it was fine but I felt that was too excessive. I had a great time at the show but that was a bit too much.
Wu Tang Clan @ Terminal 5; the sound is awesome. We always head up to the second balcony and get there early. Never a problem seeing the show. You have to commit to standing in the same spot the whole night and its a good idea to leave before the encore because getting out of this place is a deathtrap. They could use 6 more exits.
If I hadnt had ADA seating Im not sure how happy I would have been with this venue. The general admission floor requires that you get there early enough to get a good spot up front. If you end up on the top 2 floors you need to jockey for position around the railing, where you cant see anything at all.
This was my first time at Terminal 5, I wasnt sure what to expect. We went a little early to try and find a view that would work and still be easy to make it to the bar and back without much hassle. We will revisit this venue whenever they have a show we like, not too big, not too small. Perfect!Great venue for a great show.GGOOLLDD PUt out a nice show for the opening act. I didnt know much about her at all before this show but Im listening to her as I added her in my playlist.OMD Was Fantastic!Perfect mix of old favorites and from thier lastest album. We had a perfect spot to watch both shows, get there early to stakeout your place and you will be very glad you did. Its not that big that you wont be disappointed if youre not up front and giving there are three levels youre sure to find a vantage point to ensure you enjoy the show to the fullest.
Terrible venue for well known artists. The three stories viewing is nice, but once the railings are occupied, nobody can see a thing. Which makes it so the bars aren’t crowded but,, I came to see Teyana Taylor last show—not to drink. Defeating the purpose of my ticket purchases. Some people improvised by pulling the benches up so they could see & eventually security removed the ppl and benches. Safety hazard, I get it. And yet, the venue needs to figure out a way to compromise. Because this is not it. Terrible experience for the cost of my tickets.
This venue oversold tickets the one time I went. There was no space to dance. I kind of had to just bend my knees a couple degrees to the beat. I was also towards the back of the GA standing area right next to the sound booth. Behind me were some bar areas and they were just as packed as where I was standing. Exiting the venue when the show was over seemed chaotic. The crowd traffic flow was just really congested within the narrow hallway that led to the exit.If you get VIP tickets, Im sure youll have good time watching the perormance from the balconies because the lights are great, the screen on the stage is huge, and the sound is decent.
Lots of viewing areas, 3 floors! Plenty of bars on all 3 floors so quick and easy to grab a drink although they were kinda pricey. My only real complaint is at the end of the show it took a really long time to exit. Was stuck in a huge mass of people trying to get out for wayy too long. They have multiple exits but herd everyone out one way.
Ive been to many concerts and this venue is by far the best... worst thing about it is that its in the city. The online ticket info was vague. I found different ticket prices that only said general admission and they had a vip section which i wouldve bought tickets for had i been able to find an identify which tickets were vip. The venue was awesome and nice though.
Ok venue. Sound was pretty good, show(Lawrence) started on time. Negatives are, pretty much right as doors opened I went to the bathroom, first theres no dividers between the urinals which Im not a fan of, and then there was zero soap in any of the dispensers. No hand sanitizer in any of the dispensers I tried at the venue either. If it was towards the end of the show, I could see how thatd happen, but cmon, they have a whole day to make sure the soap dispensers are filled before the show starts.Exiting the venue, as others have said, is through 2 tiny halls. One which contains the merch booth...and the other contains the bathrooms, so its a huge bottleneck getting out.
This place is a safety risk, especially after what happened at Astroworld. Terminal 5 has a max capacity of 3k people, which they let into the venue through a 6ft wide hallway that shares space with restrooms, a bar, and the merch area. Once the concert is over, the workers direct the whole crowd back out through the same narrow hallway despite the opposite wall having 5 double-door exits. The workers were great in shouting instructions to the concert goers but if there was an emergency, you can bet hundreds of people would get trampled and crushed in the narrow hallway, trying to get out the way they came in. The sound quality and overall place was good but until they come up with a better way to control crowds, I wouldnt recommend going to this venue.
Restrooms relatively clean, check-in process usually smooth. Nice, intimate size. I almost fainted at a show due to low blood sugar, and the staff was SO nice and helpful. My night went from Oh no, Im going to have to leave to Everything will be okay purely because the staff took me seriously and did everything they could to help.
Dont come here. This venue is the worst. Lines are insane. I have spent 1.5 hours in line. Staff is extremely unfriendly and they are so desperate to kick everyone out as soon as they can. Such a vibe killer! Id better stay home with my headphones. So not worth it. Wont be coming to this venue ever again
Its a huge venue with two levels and bars on both levels but its standing only unless you sit at a table on the second floor. theres a row of single bathrooms with an attendee so you never have to wait long in the line. the coat check is linked into your cell phone so theres no ticket to lose!
Im still trying to find the sonic sweet spot at this venue. Upstairs on the second level youre going to get tinnitus from the speaker array if you want to be anywhere close to the stage. But theres less pushing and shoving on the two upper levels. In with the Groundlings, youre getting bowled over by Alice the Goon and her many inconsiderate friends. But the sound still isnt much better from the edges. That means you have to get there super early to get smack in the middle or lest you become a Goon yourself. The sound seems to have improved on my third visit to Terminal 5, but its still not great. Theyre still of the school of louder is better, but it is a bit more balanced now. But that could solely be due to my moving around trying to find the best spot each visit. As of now its the ground floor or by the sound booth on the second level. There are two bars on all levels so that helps with the crowds. The pours are standard NYC music venue pours... middling in both size and strength. Not the smallest cups Ive seen, so theres that. That prize goes to the defunct Webster Hall. The best thing Terminal 5 has going for it, is that its relatively close to my house. Theres nothing in the area and its not all that close to any trains. But it is close to the M57 bus thatll take you right to the the 72nd Street 1/2/3 and Grays Papaya. Theres not much outside a lone food cart for eats near the venue. Thanks to doNYC Ive seen two free shows here. Brandon Flowers (from the second level right by the speakers, ugh) and AWOLNATION (ground floor with Im the Drunk Fun Ambassador, so Im going to keep touching you Guy). I really cant complain about free. But if Im paying for a show, I dont want much of what Terminal 5 offers.
Honestly, I really enjoy the concerts offered @ Terminal 5. It is a bit far from the train (usually the E is 10 blocks away) so I usually try to go with someone just to be on the safe side. One thing I hate is the amount of people who smoke in the facility... makes it very uncomfortable to breath for one since there is a ton of people surrounding you. Ive been there to see Mac Miller (for GO:OD am and TDF) and i honestly cannot wait for Swimming!
Waited in line for five hours only to have security funnel everyone into a very small portion of the sidewalk very haphazardly, just yelled fill up the sidewalk!, people from the back running to the front, shoving, squeezing etc... They then rushed people through the metal detectors (still not in a line), The singular lady checking bags was unable to keep organized (understandably) but was taking it out on the concert-goers and yelling at people who were asking for their bags that had been checked back. Many people who had been waiting for 5+ hours got spots in the back and the middle due to the securitys inefficiency and disorganization.
I think 6 bucks is a bit too much for not even 16oz of sprite, but other than that🤣 it was great!! I saw ashnikko and Chloe moroindo here,, super hot,, they need a bit of ac going in there. Overall great experience. You have to be vaccinated to enter and present your ID
A really good venue with good acoustics. The floor was slightly smaller than I thought it would be, but it didnt matter. I saw BABYMETAL here on September 15. The sound was great and the triple level seating was really cool. Security was considerate as well. Definitely one of the better small venues Ive been to.
I loved this venue. Although the floor at the sold out show I went to was super claustrophobic, you could easily escape that by going to one of the other two floors (which is definitely what you need to do when you need another drink from the bar). Personally, I value good sound at a venue above all other things, and this place sounded amazing! The artist that I saw James Blake, has very dynamic music with soft and subtle moments followed at other times by intense bass and tons of layers that could easily be lost in a lesser space. The sound was some incredible face-melting awesomeness. The bathroom was clean and had an attendant keeping it so. I spent over $50 on 2 Jack & ginger doubles and some water, which is cray, but I guess thats just NYC. Overall fantastic experience.
Great venue! 3 floors with 2 balconies overlooking the stage and standing area below. Bars on each floor, including the rooftop patio bar. This is probably the best venue Ive ever been to with an adequate amount of bathrooms, on each level at that!! Very important detail that places tend to overlook. The stage lighting was also magical. Would attend again!
Pretty incredible venue! Nice and cosy atmosphere, clean and modern bathrooms, really friendly and capable staff. The only two downfalls that caused me to dock a star would be slight accessibility issues. Even though the staff were very accommodating and helpful, and there was a disability section, the banister was exactly at eye height in a wheelchair. And to get into the venue in a wheelchair, you need to be pulled up, due to a step. Otherwise, absolutely great! Highly recommended!
Show was ok but leaving the venue was a nightmare. It took so long to finally get outside that nobody seemed to care that it was freezing cold. They were just happy to be out of the the hallway that was jammed so tight you could barely breathe. A couple of people I was talking to said there were misleading exit signs that they followed and ended up going upstairs to the balcony. The sound was loud but not that clear and drink prices were high. These general admission places are all pretty similar.
Awesome venue! Went to see Miguel here. Show was great, and the space is awesome. Its a standing room with about 3 levels. The second level has these great high tables you can stand by with your drinks and stuff (no need for coat check) Great bartenders and fair prices. Good beer selection! Would definitely see another show here.
A relatively quaint venue in regards to size and doesnt look like much from the outside looking in, but this place turned out to be one of my favorite venues Ive been too. Sound quality is great, and pretty much anywhere you stand youll have a great view of the stage. One unexpected plus side, the bathrooms are actually beautiful and very much doesnt match the rest of the aesthetic. Last note, this place will fill, so if being shoulder to shoulder is something that bothers you, avoid like the plague.
Good concert space with balconies that offer a nice view of the stage without overcrowding. Good sound quality. They offer a coat check, but be aware of which window you checked in at. There were different lines at the end of the night to pick up coats, and many people ended up standing in the wrong line. They offered free water which was a plus.
Wonderful venue. Friendly staff made check-in a breeze, easy coat check. Nicely decorated, from the crystal chandeliers in the entrance to the large mirror ball in the main hall. Clean bathrooms & excellent bar - they make a nice Manhattan. Oh, and the performance was great. The hall is not so large that its overwhelming, but not small either. Look forward to my next event there. Cheers!
Medium sized concert venue with multiple levels. Easy to get in and out of. Bar on the second floor is large and there are several private bathrooms near by. Word of advice: if you expect a large crowd at the show get there early enough to secure one of the upper tier sections by the rails. They overlook the stage and affords a great view.
I had a great experience at terminal 5. The line to get in went down the block all the way to the end, but it moved very quickly due to many people running ID and bag check. The coat check line in the second floor was much slower on the other hand. They had a bar on the second floor, and viewing areas from the second and third floor. Most people were on the first floor where the stage was though. The concert I went to was Jay Parks NY concert, and the first floor was extremely packed. Still it was a lot of fun and the staff were nice so if I had another chance to go to Terminal 5 I would.View in the photo is from the front of GA (general admission).
Been here couple times for concerts and its a decent sized venue. I just get there pretty late for the show and end up in the back, which seems to be the best view of the stage other than being on the mezzanine floor or very front. The bar drinks I think averaged to about $12 per drink- to be expected for nyc.
I used to not like this place when it first opened, but it had become one of my favorite places for love music in the city. Im under 5 feet tall, so there is no way I can see the stage any place I go. I love that there are several levels and you can get away from the crowd if you want. They have screens showering the stage which is usually how I watch shows there. Like most clubs the drinks are expensive, but at least they are strong.
I came here for New years Eve 2018 going into 2019 for the Snoop dog concert. It was awesome. The place was clean, easy to find and immediately have off a party/club vibe. No seats at this event but I dont know if thats the case every time. If they have an event you are interested in going, you should definitely go. Its a great experience right here in the city.
Awesome music venue! Friendly and helpful staff. This venue has 3 huge floors and a rooftop bar. The venue also has television’s so you can see the concert even if you don’t have a good view. There was a bad everywhere we turned. I was surprised how big the venue was. I had tickets to the event I went to see there on my phone so getting in the door took less than 10 minutes. I would love to see another concert here again
Used to love this venue, but they always have sections closed off and the ventilation isnt that great, so it gets real hot and crowded. The outdoor area is nice, but you cant hear or see the show well, they only have 1-2 small tvs. Drinks are expensive, but they usually have awesome performers here.
I love this venue! It might be because Ive seen some of my favorite performers here, but I still think its a really great place to see a show. The acoustics are great and it has an interesting, tiered layout. The staff is also very friendly and the drink prices are pretty fair.
I really liked the stage and the how it was managed. With concert halls, you really cant go wrong but the management here was very good. Frequently, they would have crew members walk around with water to hand out so fans wouldnt get dehydrated. For the bathrooms, they had someone stand guard and make sure people were safe in there. The bar was well protected against minors. The concert hall itself is not so bad. Theres ample seating in the back for people who are too tired to keep standing. I didnt explore the second and third floor, but a lot of people were sitting down by the edge and that seemed comfortable. Terminal 5 is pretty good for a concert.
Sound system was really good. Long lines moved quickly, which was nice for a cold night. We checked out all three levels and there was plenty of room on the top two for dancing. I guess it depends on the type of environment you want, more space or more people to chat with. Bathrooms were kept clean by an attendant and provided breath mints. Not too much negative to say.
Not a fan of this venue. The whole place feels a little too cavernous and spacious, thus making the performers feel a little distant, while at the same time people really get packed onto the main floor. The two levels of balconies is kind of cool. I guess if you get to your show early enough, you can get a good spot, but the place definitely doesnt offer much by way of ambiance. Sadly, this is more of a NYC problem than just Terminal Five. These mid-sized, converted warehouse style venues are all over the city. However, all this might just be a matter of personal preference. I strongly prefer the small, intimate venues.
Saw George Ezra there recently. Great venue with plenty of local parking that is really close to the Lincoln tunnel. The venue itself was big enough to hold a large crowd especially since it was multi level while still having a great view of performers from any angle. Plenty of bars made it quick to get a drink at anytime
The security staff was actively helping people leave if they werent feeling well and they were handing out water bottles to the crowd which is better than a lot of the experiences Ive had at MSG. I loved the ambiance of the place it just felt very nice. Definitely recommend a concert here at least once.
Great venue and bartending service, but security needs to be better. During an event on 2/7/20, I asked a security member where coat check was because there was no sign directing where it was. He directed me to a staircase on the other side of the venue. The security guard there directed me back to where the first security guard was. This happened before the event and again when I was trying to get back to the coat check.

2022-02-02Awesome venue! Great upstairs outdoor smoking area. Good acoustics and the multi level standing areas are nice. Reminded me of house of blues. We go to a LOT of shows, looking forward to seeing another show here.

2022-03-28Such a cool venue. Saw Cavetown, and really enjoyed the building. Three floors for you to be around, and the acoustics are great. Whether you want to be on the floor and experience the band close up, or want to get a more aerial perspective, both are great options. Exiting after the concert was still tough just like any other smaller venue. At the time of writing (March 2022) they are still requiring proof of vaccine, and photo identification for every party member.

2021-11-22Went here for the Aurora concert on 11/14 and it was absolutely amazing!! The drinks are a bit pricey but they are poured well and there is an accessible bar on both floors. Also, the security was minimal but effective! They all did a really good job of monitoring without causing stress! The acoustics throughout the whole building are absolutely amazing!! Whether youre on the first floor or on the second balcony, you will hear the music perfectly clear!! Such a wonderful experience! I would love to return to this venue in the future!

2022-01-29I went here for Two Friends concert. What venue allows 15 year olds in their facility when they’re serving alcohol??Way too many 15 year olds who couldn’t handle their liquor, even though they were not serving to minors they were able to find it elsewhere prior to the concert. Was pushed and shoved by children who don’t know concert etiquette. Feared for many young girls stumbling around- was asking them if they were ok.Really enjoyed the performers, however, this should be an 18+ venue. Drunk 15 year olds should not be in a dark venue on a Friday night in NYC- sad to see how this is condoned.I had to lift an unconscious drunk 15 year old over the barricade, push off many young girls elbowing me in the neck and left with many bruises. On the bright side, was not worried about MY safety as the security guard made it very comfortable for all of the people in my party and was even handing out waters. I told the security guard the boy was not ok and he acted immediately. Thank you Two Friends!!!Terminal 5, Meh.

2021-12-01Great venue. Getting VIP is worth it if you want to be up front. Saw Joji so it was amazing. His signature drink was so good. One of the best shows Ive ever saw.

2022-02-21Fun venue, bathrooms were a bit dirty but great vibes in general. Not much sitting room. Parking nearby isnt common, but if you pay ahead with an app you can get (ok for midtown) deals at garages within a couple blocks. Smoking is like not even a question at terminal 5, people werent even really trying to hide it, joints everywhere. Fun time, just make sure if you go upstairs you get a good spot where you can see over the balcony to the stage! It packs up quickly

2021-10-17Pretty awesome venue. there is great view of the stage from just about any point on the floor. ive never seen a bar move so efficiently so the wait from getting a drink and back to the show was almost non existent. a lot of space to get a round even though it was packed. bathroom also had no wait which is crazy.

2022-02-21Easy venue, large stage, great sound, large selection of IPAs. Fun west side NYC venue where I’ve seen so many bands & concerts over the years. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

2022-02-09Great sound and a decent size stage considering the capacity which makes for some good shows. Metal detectors can take a while so be there slightly early. It’s also a slightly low stage so sight lines can be tricky from the main floor. The upper levels fill up quickly.

2022-03-14Really nice venue. They were organized in getting the line through the door quickly, had drinks that werent outrageously priced, had a super organized coat check, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, my shoe got ripped off during a Baby Keem concert here, but its not the venues fault! Fun memory- would certainly come here for future shows
