Terrace Cafe in other cities:
My wife and I went today of all days. Probably as crowded as MoMA ever gets! 45 minute wait for a table so we sat at one of the counters, which has USB and regular power outlets, by the way. Very friendly service and very good food. Yes, it would be nicer with the small terrance open, and no, it isnt cheap, but we enjoyed our food and, being members, appreciated the 10% discount. The check includes the tip. Three plates and a glass of wine were around $60. Not a lot for a good restaurant in New York, but perhaps more than some patrons would like. Wish there were cheaper house wine options. I recommend the mushroom/polenta (warm), the cauliflower pesto & yogurt (room temp), and the bitter greens salad, which isnt really bitter. My only complaint, and its a small one, is that I wish the space felt more open.We havent tried the 2nd Floor Cafe since it reopened. That used to be our go-to spot. There are a number of cheaper restaurants a block South, and a great Chinese dumpling house on 54th, so dont feel you must eat at the Museum.
I was looking forward to the new MoMa and then enjoy a light lunch , they should open at 11AM but they were late . Because I was alone could not get a table , I wasn’t happy but wasn’t big deal I ordered the mushroom polenta which came cold. The waitress was nice , actually she keep trying to have a conversation while I really want to enjoy my warm polenta. The constant intervention by the waitress make me left without having coffee. View stunning food not really
Had the salmon on toast which wasnt my favorite thing in the world, but you get what you order. It was just messy enough to try eating with a fork, but the toast made it hard to cut so I probably looked pretty hilarious trying to cut a tiny piece of toast with a butter knife. The atmosphere was remarkable and my waiter was very nice.
I visited the museum, Friday July 28th and shortly before my departure I stopped at Terrace 5 for something to eat before I went on my plans that day. I was greeted at my table by Jaime, one of the crew assisting the wait staff warmly, courteously and with an infectious smile. My waiter, Ulysses served the order (Hummus with flatbread & a margarita) and we discussed briefly the delicious concoction and went to find out for me, when asked, what was the pleasantly surprising yet mysterious taste I couldnt make out, which turned out to be mint infused olive oil. The views are beautiful and I felt like I was in some fresh air cafe in a foreign country, delighting in the exceptional service and delicious food.Ulysses and Jaime, and from what I witnessed of the rest of the staff at the bar, the beautiful service in the plates being brought out from the kitchen, the overall cleanliness and layout of the restaurant, the crew at MOMA Terrace 5, are a crew of professional service oriented individuals. Thank you, for a wonderful experience I will not only be sharing and recommending, but returning with my family in the near future. I will be looking forward to seeing them again.
The food is decidedly not appetizing. Their version of a nicoise salad came with flies on the lettuce, and congealed looking mayo on the potatoes. The waiter took it back and brought me a cauliflower leek soup instead which had lumpy melted cheese cubes in it. I couldnt bear to return a second dish. But really, MoMA? This is bad.
Location: Located near the end of Hoa Ma Street next to the steak Ngoc Hieu at a young age Space: 2 terribly large terraces. Eye-catching decor, much investment. Is one of the suitable cafe to check in luxuriously, sophisticated decoration, beautiful lighting. Menu: Pretty much dishes and drinks. The food is mainly bread and pasta, fried nui, ... But the quality is not very special. Prices are higher than common ground. But with such a space, the price is easy to understand. Food is about 60 - 80k / dish. Drinks from 40-60k / map.

2022-07-01Lemon tart was delicious and refreshing. Chocolate tart was bit too strong and thick for me. Love the vibe here so relaxing. A little pricey overall. Outdoor seating area is pretty cool and quiet (but outdoor chairs dont have cushions and hard to sit). They accept mobile payment.

2022-05-19Located on the top floor of the MoMA this restaurant is stylish and artsy. The indoor space is large but the trace is smaller with nice views of the surrounding city. These spaces get filled up quickly so it may be a good idea to avoid peak days and hours. The hostess will take your details and you could continue your tour of the museum galleries while waiting your turn. An SMS will let you know when your table is ready. The prices here are high as expected. Service was very friendly. If you are looking for a classy meal after satisfying your appetite for art, this could be a very good option. There are additional and more down to earth cafes in the museums lower levels.

2021-12-31My partner and I visited this cafe since we were famished and didn’t want to leave the museum due to the cold weather outside. He ordered the beet-cured salmon ($17) and I ordered the roast beef sandwich ($20). Funnily enough, the server placed the roast beef sandwich in front of him, instead of me and vice versa. Then, the server just left.My partner wasn’t aware that the beet-cured salmon was a cold dish. It would be nice if there was a note on the menu stating it. Also, it would’ve been nice to have a side dish accompanying the entrée.The atmosphere was decent and it is conveniently located in MOMA, but the food was definitely overpriced.

2021-10-13Lovely, nice atmosphere and ambiance. It’s on 6th floor of MoMa and offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Despite small and simple menu, foods are good and even better with a glass of wine)

2022-07-19The Romaine wedge was super tasty. One less star because of the small size.

2021-05-05Nice respite after your tour of MoMa. The outside part of the cafe, you scan the QR code with your phone to get the menu, make your pick, order at the counter, pay for your order ans wait for your order to be ready, which you then carry to your table, so no table service. The food choices include grilled chicken sandwich on ciabatta, with fontine and broccoli rabe, prosciutto on baguette, mixed greens salad and creamy tomato soup. There are also snacks featured in the menu (potato chips, trail mix, and onion dip). The drinks menu offers coffee, several kinds of teas, sodas, Pellegrino, juices, as well as three options of wine by the glass (white, red, rosé), canned cocktails and beers. The outside seating provides beautiful scenic view of the museums sculpture garden.

2020-01-01Loved the experience.I was afraid to visit here because of low ratings. It exceeds my expectations.Staff are attentive and friendly. Knowledgeable.Food are pretty good.We tried 6 different dishes and there are more to try so we will definitely come back. One thing, hopefully they will increase the selections of desserts in the future.

2018-09-13Great airy restaurant. Of the three restaurants in MoMA, this one offers waiter service and isnt as expensive as the other waiter service restaurant downstairs. Dishes are decent, views are great. A great place to take a break while at the museum.

2019-03-12Super pricey for a cafe, but its all about the atmosphere. Nice to take a break from viewing the art and grab a quick bite to eat without having to leave and come back. Food was delicious and you got a decent amount.

2022-01-22Received over-the-top excellent and appreciated service from our server Kenny, and each staff member was so kind and helpful! My baby girl and I enjoyed a little snack (eggplant dip- very delicious) during our MoMA visit and Im so glad we did. Sure, the menu items are on the pricey and small-side but....its a NYC museum café, so what do people expect?Thankful for the lovely experience :)
