Thai Villa in other cities:
Great service and super tasty food. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. The interior is so nicely designed and I’m glad we sat on the 2nd floor so we could admire it all! Feels so authentic. We got the chicken satay, drunken noodles , green curry , and a chicken dish. The green curry was incredible. 10/10 recommend
Overall good service and nice environment. Food is average at best. Tom yum soup was way too salty, Papaya salad felt like a left over mixed greens, pad se-ew was and green 🦆 duck curry were probably the better two dishes but nothing amazing to talk about. We also ordered a few appetizers and the sear scallops is probably the best, tender and not overcooked with a spicy sauce.
This place is amazing! The decor is truly representative of Thai culture. Shampoo was a wonderful hostess, who accommodated our table from start to finish. She shared insightful recommendations on traditional foods and drinks. Each one was 10/10. Highly recommended and I will definitely return!
Everything I ordered was delicious. It’s a little on the pricier range but the quality is good. The ambience added a lot to the experience. The staff are all nice and they all look like they are enjoying their job. Overall a very good experience on a gloomy monday. Will definitely come back.
A beautifully decorated Thai restaurant offering both royal & authentic street Thai foods. Either way you go, you are guaranteed to be served delicious food with complex & well balanced flavor profiles. Their cocktails do not disappoint and I highly suggest the matcha cocktail with whipped cream. It’s hard to stop at just one… The atmosphere is classy and perfect for date night. Friendly service from knowledgeable staff in addition to all else mentioned, makes this restaurant my favorite Thai restaurant in NYC.
Very good. Not great. The coconut sticky rice tasted like fish which was off-putting. The pork was a little fatty but tasted very good and the sauces were great. Prices high like all the other spots here in nyc area but the restaurant itself was really nice and had a great vibe. Service was great. Maybe other food items are better? But I have a limited taste. Want more simple menu items
This place has become one of my new favorite Thai restaurant in New York. The foods delectable. The ambiance and decor are all wonderful. It’s so instagram worthy! Their staff are really friendly too. I came here three times and one time we sat by the bar and the Bartender made us delicious cocktails. It’s perfect to bring a date, however the place gets really loud.
By Far one of the best Thai restaurants in nyc. The Scallops were to die for. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce that they put over it made me feel like I didn’t have enough. The wings had the perfect amount of spice and they were moist on the inside and packed with flavor. The Royal Pad Thai Was amazing. The shrimp in it lacked salt but the sauce they cooked it in made up for it. the Branzino was crispy and perfectly sauced in its tamarind sauce. The food is amazing and you are missing out if you like Thai food but haven’t been to this restaurant.
Ambience is great, they have outdoor seating but the decor inside is pretty nice. Food is amazing. The wait time even on week days can go up couple of hrs so do add yourself to the wait-list on Yelp if possible. Its definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city.Definitely try the Panang Curry. They have some great drinks as well..mango sunrise and Thai ice tea are really good!
Thai Villa is our go-to thai place. We have ordered different items off their menu and loved each one of them. Their red curry is amazing and we order it all the time! The drinks are okay in taste but somewhat strong. It does get quite crowded though so would recommend getting reservations in advance.
This place is gold. We are a huge fan of this place’s food and decor. The taste is supreme and the service is impeccable. We love exploring different restaurants in NYC and we visit this place at least once in a year. I would strongly recommend this place for mouth watering food and unforgettable vibe.
Thai VillaNew York, NY - near Flatiron DistrictFood:Cashew Nut ChickenChicken Pad ThaiOverall Rating: 4.1Family Friendly: YesRecommended: YesThe hostess was horrible during seating. When we arrived they said our reservation was for outside, yet our confirmation says inside. They made us wait for the next available table, but they kept seating other couples of two inside while we waited. Once we got seated there was so many empty tables. The servers were great!
The interior design of Thai Villa is intimate, while also alluding to an upscale restaurant with the Thai culture intertwined. Right as you walk in, you immediately smell the aroma of Thai cuisine. Our noses led us to order the pad se-ew and basil fried rice. Both were delicious. If you are new to Thai food, we would suggest giving this place a try. It is a little bit more on the hipster end, so it could be a nice introduction.
Thai Villa gets Thai hospitality and service. From the host at the entrance to the server , you get the full Thai experience and I havent even got to the food yet. They smashed it and I have a high bar for Thai food. The starters and cocktails were superb ( especially loved the chicken in pandan leaves Nd the kafir cilantro martini)The mains were top notch too. The server recommended the right dishes and quantities for us with such warmth I could have stayed for my next meal too.I cant recommend this place highly enough
This place is like no other Thai restaurant I have ever been too! First the decor is spectacular. Gorgeous metal leaf chandeliers and booths made to feel like a Buddhist monastery. Artwork and water falling. This I have seen before though. Its the food!!!!! Oh my gosh, to die for food. The appetizers were delicate rice noodle, shrimp and sauce served on betel leaves. So crisp, clean, fresh and delicious. The salad was a bed of lightly fried banana peel (mind blown) which they then pour a shrimp and vegetable creamy concoction on top. The textures and flavors and more betel leaves (lightly battered and fried this time) just incredible. My meal consisted of a light curry - more like Indian food then Thai - with tender melt in your mouth cuts of pork. Whoa. The service was friendly and super helpful. Waitress asked about allergies and gluten concerns and provided good options about this. Top class service. Amazing food. Brilliant atmosphere. Can not wait to return to Thai Villa, yummy.
During the pandemia, I ordered the delivery from Thai Villa. The food was well packed, but they didn’t offer utensils. The “crispy five spice duck” (duck leg, fried taro chips and eggplant) was delicious, but the sauce might be too sweet for people who weren’t used to sweet-savory stuff. The green curry was also nice. I also ordered a lychee martini, and it was delicious as well. Overall, it’s a pretty good delivery experience although I doubted it’s still not comparable to what I could have for dine-in.
One of the most authentic Thai food restaurants here in NYC. The food tastes amazing and very Thai-like. Pineapple fried rice, Thai iced coffee, and Thai milk tea were great. Staff were friendly and food came fast after ordering. Definitely visit if you enjoy Thai food very much.
This place kind of reminds me of Vegas with how it’s decorated. Which sounds silly but it’s just so intricate and many restaurants there are like that. I really enjoyed coming here, my friend made a reservation but it would’ve had us outside and luckily they had space at the bar so we got to sit there instead. The service was really fast, ambiance was on point, and music was the perfect volume where you can’t really hear the conversations of your neighbors but it doesn’t make it hard to chat between yourselves. The food itself was priced well for the amount of food you get considering the proximity to Union Square. Would highly recommend.
Great food, amazing atmosphere, and friendly service. We came here for dinner for 4 people and got the Royal Pad Thai, Curry puffs, red curry, and a few other things. Every dish was fantastic and their mocktails were amazing. One of the best Thai restaurants Ive ever been to.
Heard so much about Thai Villa and glad we got to try it out!We were a party of 5 and I called earlier to see if they had any tables available for dinner. Luckily they had an opening which surprised me because I can tell this place is very busy.We started with the chicken wings for the table which were good, then split a Panang curry with chicken, pad se ew with beef, and basil fried rice with shrimp. Everything was good but the Panang curry was definitely the best one. It was so flavorful and in my opinion stood out from the rest of the dishes.Service was great and our waiter was really helpful with recommendations and suggestions on what protein to pair with each dish.Overall it was a good dinner choice!
Oh what a restaurant! It is without a doubt no. 1 Thai restaurant in NYC. Taste, presentation, ambience, variety, veg options, drinks, innovation, they excel in all of them. And that is why there is always a significant waiting time for dining in, but it is definetly worth it. Have been dining in, taking out and not once the restaurant has given a chance for complaint. I will suggest you dine in coz the taste is best when hot n fresh. They also surprise you with complimentary tea, etc at times.
I frequent this place a lot because it’s close to work and I love Thai food. Their food is consistently tasty, not to mention the portion size is great too. My favorites are the drunken noodles (kee mao) and the red curry. They are spicy and delicious! Definitely worth visiting if you’re around the area. They have outside seating for a group of 3 or more. There’s a bit of a space crunch inside and it definitely doesn’t feel luxurious (like pre-COVID times) but it’s still pretty functional and works well with COVID guidelines so it works for me.
The ambience was amazing! We had a chocolate cocktail. Dont remember the name. It was nice and different but sweeter than expectedAppetizers:*Curry puffs* -(Recommended) Tastes like fancy chicken wada pav.*Kha Nom Jeeb* - Tasted like smokey pork.Entree:*Red curry* - (Recommended) Taste was amazing. we ordered medium spicy but it wasnt spicy at all. Felt the eggplant in it a bit undercooked. But overall the dish was delicious. This comes with Jasmine rice. Liked the way the rice was presented.
Wonderful date night. A rare-find that is completely service oriented. From personal treatment while taking my reservation, to the seating request being honored and all the way to the last dish being served, coffee sipped, and the departure from the place. Whether you want to go out on a date or bring your friends for sumptuous food, you will be very impressed. The restaurant was buzzing the whole time we were there. The staff made us feel as if we were their only and the most important customer. Highly recommended - five star experience all around.
We had attentive servers, which everyone can always appreciate! They definitely got packed within the first hour of opening. We were there 10 minutes before they opened and were the first table seated, but by the time we left an hour and a half later, there was a line outside so definitely plan for that! Our server recommended their puffs to me and it was definitely my favorite item. I also tried their house special pork dish which was fine, meat was tender but kinda one-note to me so I would probably try something else if I ever visit again. I personally like my pad Thai a bit sweeter than what was served on our visit, but everything was still decent. On the other hand, the scallops (appetizers) were way too sweet (borderline bbq sauce taste) but well cooked.
Great atmosphere and accompanied staff. Highly recommend a reservation for the busy weekend brunch/lunch time. Service was fast and friendly. They check vaccination cards at the door, which reassured me.Went with a group of friends and everyone liked their dishes and drinks a lot. Best Thai iced coffee I’ve had in NYC in a while
Loved this place! Their fried chive pancakes were so crispy on the outside and super soft and chewy on the inside. The pad thai, pad se eew, and penang curry had great flavor. Their lunch special is an amazing deal. The staff were so nice. The tom yum fried rice wasn’t what I expected (it didnt taste like tom yum soup) and wasn’t that great. I would definitely come back for their prices![food insta: @strwbrrryboba :)]
Very disappointed. Always wanted to check this place out given the reviews. Place this very much follows covid protocol but certainly takes away from ambiance with the dividers. Service is really attentive and fast, felt very rushed the whole time. The food.. what a disappointment from the chicken satay to curry puffs and even the entrees. For example, the deep fried Branzino sounded different and was cooked really well but the dry spice was not flavorful at all. Also, a very pricy place to eat for the quality of food. Lastly, cocktails were okay, pricy as well and very small glasses. Would not try again.
We heard a TON of things about Thai Villa. I heard it was so hard to get a spot here, and my friends and I finally got a table. While we were waiting we were hearing how much people got excited to eat here. So, I was so excited. I was like finally…maybe a spot that I’ll love here in nyc. The food was great, but I wouldn’t go back again like I wouldn’t crave it. Thai food is one of my favorite cousines, and I loved it but not worth all of the hype.
I made an appointment here through open table and was about an hour late and they still held onto our table for us. All guests have to be there to be seated inside. The Thai milk tea is amazing. It is one of the best Thai milk teas Ive had in awhile. The duck from the duck fried rice was extremely dry but other than that everything else was perfectly fine.
Fantastic food! Really great portion sizes! Came here for dinner and couldn’t finish our meals haha Thai tea was delicious and if you haven’t tried one already, you definitely should. I have a high spice tolerance and their spicy food was actually REALLY spicy. Also such a beautiful and aesthetic interior!! 10/10 would recommend
Let me say how fancy and gorgeous this place looks in the inside. The ambiance is cute and cozy. Ok so now the food, I order the spicy chicken wings and the pineapple fried rice with chicken. The spicy wings, although extremely tasty, wasn’t spicy at all. It’s maybe my high tolerance for spicy food but they could’ve def use some more heat. The pineapple fried rice was actually quite great. I was very impressed. This place is kinda expensive but I have a feeling I’ll be stopping by again.
Fantastic Thai spot and in a great location. This place is way bigger on the inside than it seems. Great spot for a date, because it is absolutely beautiful. The food is great too, I recommend just getting a couple different things and sharing it with whoever you’re with. The Pad Kee Mau and Pineapple Fried Rice are my go to’s. Thai Iced Tea is definitely worth it too. You’re also able to select your choice of protein if you want vegetarian, chicken, beef, shrimp, etc. I always recommend making a reservation to this place though, otherwise you might find if difficult to get in
Lunch $18 each include soup or salad, scallion tofu or fried spring rolls, and an entrepreneur. We were happy with our pineapple friend Rice with shrimp & pad see ew with squid. Bathroom are clean- theres even a family one. Two enclosed seating area for up to 20 ppl rach are upstairs. Nice deco, quick service. Booths look nice but guess they only seat parties with 3+ ppl.
Food is spectacular but the service and seating is so awful.Issues:> tables are about 6 inches apart, it’s loud and uncomfortable and not covid safe> waiters will ask 8-10 times within 5 minutes if you’re ready to order> waiter grabbed my card without my permission to tap/put it in the machine. He came over with the iPad and I was trying to figure out if anything extra had been added, instead of giving me 15 seconds to look, he just grabbed my card to which I said “don’t do that, I’m look at this, I know how to use a credit card” I hate how restaurants just give you an ipad these days and expect you to tip on the meal when you can’t even see the breakdown of costs and check nothings been added! They are clearly trying to turn tables over that it makes the experience unenjoyable and you’re allowed 90 mins only. We sat down for 2 mins and we were asked 3 times if we were ready to order. We quickly picked some entrees in the hope that would give us some time to chat but no. They came up 7-8 times to ask if we were ready for mains and we kept saying sorry give us 10 minutes but they would wait about 2 minutes. The table are so close together and it’s very loud. Its such a pity because the food was delicious
When you think of Thai you think of a restaurant with photos of its food on the menu. This is not one of those. I would say it is upscale Thai with a flair for fun. The restaurant design is all out with a waterfall mirror. I ordered the short rib which had delectable seasoning and some sweet coconut milk to tame the spice flame. Very fun place and staff.
Incredible food and service! I had the royal pad thai in a medium temperature. It was a bit spicy even for my taste, but there were plenty of other things to tone down every bite and make this a delicious experience. The presentation was creative and I enjoyed that just as much as the flavors. My lychee thai tea was refreshing although just a bit too sweet - our server saw that I was diluting it with water and immediately offered to take it away and have it watered down for me. So attentive - our server really sealed the deal to make this such a positive first experience. The dessert is the lava cake with coconut ice cream and I definitely recommend trying it!
Great Thai food experience and service!Ambience was beautiful and each table felt like they had their own space. Service was amazing and efficient too.Appetizers: chicken wings were AMAZING! I’ve never had wings that fall off the bone like that. Only 5 pieces per portion though.Tom Yum soup was tasty. Chicken Satay was underwhelming though.Mains: Chicken Kra Pow was great and so were the green and red curries! Fried rice was a huge portion. They were filling and great to taste.Coconut juice was too sweet for my liking so wouldn’t recommend that. The lunch special looks like insane value for money - would highly recommends
Another awesome experience at Thai Villa. We came for dinner and were greeted by friendly hostess. Our server was courteous and friendly. Food was delicious! There were four of us and we shared the fresh, crunchy papaya salad, salivating 5-spice duck, beautifully decorated but delicioud Royal Pad Thai, flavor packed chicken red curry and mouth waterinh Tom Yum soup!
Book the table before you reach and they will allow only full party only. Must try mango drink here.. chicken spicy basil fried rice if you love spicy food only.. Red curry was good and dumpling was so so..Ambiance 8/10Service 9/10Food 7/10Drinks 5/10Place is Noisy and conjugated but worth every penny
Thai Villa is usually booked out a couple of days ahead, so you should plan early if you want to eat here! We ate in one of their outdoor booths and really appreciated that they were heated anf pretty insulated. The food was good and had honestly beautiful presentation!
Amazing place …amazing ambience and a true Thai place everything here was upto the mark from service to food to drinks ..just a note that the meat served here is not halal ..there are very limited options for vegetarians but a lot for the non vegetarians..try their signature cocktails which is amazing!! I would love to go again
Best Thai food in town. This elegant restaurant with great interior and delicious food is a must try. A friend recommended it to me so we went their to have a quite lunch for birthday. It was amazing and since my husband couldnt join us on that day, we planned one of our dinner dates there. Great experience whether you are with a group or with a date. Being a vegetarian, I specially liked green curry and dumplings. But friends said chiken and duck were good too. Basil fried rice is my favorite and I dined on multiple occasions there and always liked the presentation and taste. If you are in town make a reservation for dinner. Most of the time especially on weekends wait time exceeds 40 mins. So plan accordingly. But dont let this discourage you, food experience is worth this wait.
Thai Villa was an amazing experience. The service was great, the restaurant was beautiful, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the food. I ordered a Pineapple Fried Rice, but it wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I’d definitely check it out again to order something else. I enjoyed the service though. It was great. If you’re looking for parking, I’m not sure if there’s any available in the block but I’m sure you can find some close by. The F train on 14th street is about a 10 min walk from Thai Villa, and the trains on 23rd street is about an 8 minute walk.
Sometimes you just find a place that is amazing and hits the spot. We came at 8 pm on a Wednesdays night in the pouring rain with a group of for. The place was packed. Unfortunately they make you wait outside until the whole party arrived. Normally Id minus a star but the good and service made up for the wait.I love Thai food and loved this restaurant thai food. We ordered curry puffs, pad see ew and pad ki mao with beef, and chicken satay.Curry puff came with 4x per plate. Delicious. Soft doughy exterior with a balanced curry flavor on the interior. Not spicyThe pad see ew had a better sauce than most restaurants and a healthy mix of greens. Pad ki mao was not terribly spicy and had a good mix of veggies.Chicken satay had mixed reviews but we were biased after having had authentic satay in Thailand ( nothing really compares).Waitress was friendly and spoke to us about our trips to Thailand. They were great at making sure the table was ok.Bill - gratuity was included and they only could take 4 cards Max.Overall Id love to come back and try some more of the menu, but Ill wait til nicer weather to avoid the long wait outdoors.
Pretty solid Thai restaurant. We got the pad kea mao (drunken noodles), Thai fried rice, pad krapraw, and por pia tod (spring rolls). My favorite were the drunken noodles because they had a good spice level but not overly spicy like some other Thai places. The mock duck (soy-based meat) was well cooked and really flavorful — best part of the whole meal. The Thai fried was alright (average/expected) and the pad krapraw was similar to the drunken noodles but saucy and served with rice. The spring rolls were really good, did not taste frozen. Good restaurant service, no complaints.
We stopped by for super quick lunch. They seem to have very unique options apart from classic noodles and curries.Their lunch specials are great.Option of salad and an appetizer along with classic pad see ew( not pictured). We tried scallop skewers by our servers recommendation and it was really good.We will visit again!
Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines. How about you!!Highlights of the menu:1. Pad Thai with beef2. Tom Yum soup3. Thai milk tea4. Chicken wings5. Fried rice6. Papaya salad7. Smokey Mekhong Old Fashioned cocktail: Mekhong Thai rum, smoked rum, brown sugar8. Fried shrimp cake (Tod mun koong)I was amazed when entering this restaurant. The decoration is so beautiful with the gold leaf trees which makes me feel like I was traveling to Thailand. The food is phenomenon! Really rich in flavor and pretty presentation. Consistent quality among all the dishes is a big gaining point for this place. The service is super quick. I don’t think I was waited for more than 10 minutes to get the first dish served. Amazing service.
Always ready for Thai Villa!! It was my fourth time, and it has never disappointed. Have tried Panang curry, Basil fried rice, spring role, Red curry, ginger stir fry, Pad Krapraw, and obviously a thai tea so far. Everything is delicious and portions are good. Make sure you book table in advance, especially on the weekends. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a good Thai in Manhattan!
Beautiful Decor and good food.Everything was delicious, and flavorful. I could’ve used more spice, so If the food isn’t spicy or salty enough, definitely ask for some dried Thai chili or Thai chili with fish sauce.Apps: Curry Puffs and Spicy Chicken WingsEntrees: Pad Krapaw, Pad Se Ew, Moo-Obb Nam PuaungDrinks: Thai Iced Tea
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had! The ambiance is beautiful, the interior design is something straight out of a movie! Perfect for date nights or going with friends. We had the calamari which was alright, we felt it wasn’t crispy enough. Thai tea was great. Pad see eww with vegetables was perfect. We tried the kee mao with shrimp and it was out of this world. Eggplant basil with rice was great as well! Walked in around 2pm on a Saturday evening and was able to get a table without reservations but they were pretty full.
The best Thai food everrr!!! the shrimp cake is so so yummy and we also ordered papaya salad, royal pad thai, tom yum, five spice crispy duck and the mango sticky rice (all very very yummy!) the non-alcoholic drinks are also very tasty (bit too sweet but acceptable !)
Absolutely wonderful service and overall the food was excellent! I took my friend her for her birthday celebration, we ordered the scallop skewers and turmeric cocunut calamari to start - and let me tell you FRESH and perfectly and properly cooked and seasoned. Ive had many seafood platters/bites/appetizers over the years but this place definitely will be memorable just on these two alone. I will say I wish they gave a bit more scallops though, felt it was pricey for only 2 skewers of 4 scallops each at 15 bux - this was the only item I felt was abnormally priced. Drinks were pretty standard, cocunut juice and thai iced tea 👍👍. I ordered the Larb Bronzini and my friend had the Duck with Thai Eggplant - bronzini being a traditional fish cooked in my household I was curious as to the Thai variant. Let me tell you folks 😚🤌👌 slightly sour and spiced to perfection... I dont think I can eat my households bronzini anymore after this succulent beauty hit my tongue - my mouth waters just thinking about it. The duck was delicious, but not as impressive as the fish - I do recommend it however. I think the chef had the duck in the fryer for a couple minutes more than he/she shouldve, it wasnt as juicy as it couldve been. For dessert we had the choco-thai tea lava cake, which was quite tasty, albeit a bit undersized. And mayflower and oolong teas as finishers and palate cleanser. Full bill with 20% tip was 166. Enjoy 😊!
Tried hard to get a reservation, finally got one!Loved the Place, Ambience is Great. The wait staff wears traditional clothes which adds to the Thainess of the place.Being Vegetarian, found a lot of good options to eat.Vegetarian Dumplings - My oh my, what color and taste! Amazing. Served with a wonderful sauce.Vegetarian Spring Rolls - much like the spring rolls you get at any other thai Place, nicely fried couldnt see much oil on it, which was a plus! Loved them.Ki Mao Noodles - Nice and Spicy with options for Tofu fried or Steamed.Thai Basil Fried Rice - Amazing Flavour and a wonderful presentation.
My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner. The food was incredible , easily the best Thai food I have ever had. The milk and lychee tees that we got were phenomenal. The prices were reasonable. My only complaint is that they made us wait despite the fact that we had a reservation.
Finally came here in person!!The decoration is SO PRETTY and they have a huge menu with all sorts of Thai food.Waitress is very knowledgeable about their dishes. Answered all my questions about the ingredients etc.Green curry is SO GOOD. Creamy coconut flavor well blended in with the vegetables & herbs. My fav.
Its a perfect date spot and also a place to go with friends. The cocktails were interesting but did not find enough options for hard liquor! The meat is not halal. I loved the red curry as it is one of my favs. The dragon drink is sweet and milky, with dragon fruit flavor. Had a good time.
The best red curry!! Every time I come to the city I make sure to stop by Thai Villa for their fabulous Red Curry with tofu. The flavors are brilliant. This time we sat outside and they have a lovely outdoor seating area with heaters. Amazing option for delicious vegan food!!
Thai Villa is an awesome date spot or just a casual meal. The foods were high quality and burst of delicious flavors. The Thai ice tea was pretty goodOur waitress, Kiki, was friendly and attentive for our needs. The other waitress was also assisting us. Overall a 5stars hospitality and food qualityCant comment on the cocktail since we didnt have oneI hope they update the interior someday
Great location for a group meal. The food was delicious. We shared multiple appetizers, with the spring rolls, chicken satay and chicken wings a hit. For mains the Pad Thai and red curry were delicious. There was also an option for a milder red curry as needed. The cocktail selection was amazing. We sat outside in one of the booths, which was spacious and comfortable. Inside the decor was amazing and a great atmosphere, I would definitely return for food inside.
Absolutely delicious Thai food. I didnt pay so I dont know how expensive it was, but everything was very good. Curry Puffs and chicken satay for appetizers, pad thai and a garlic vegetable with chicken, along with some pineapple fried rice. Definitely recommend a stop.
My co-workers and I came here for lunch on a Thursday and the place was shockingly busy! Luckily we had a reservation so we were seated immediately. The service was really great, and the food came out fast despite the lunch rush. The lunch special is a pretty great deal too, $16 for 2 appetizers and an entree. Highly recommend for a tasty lunch!
I’ve been searching for quality Thai food in NYC since I moved here and I think I finally found the best spot!First off, the food here is premiere quality- it’s not oily, its very well seasoned, and has the perfect balance of spice and savory. I got the kee mao with chicken and definitely recommend it! I do wish there was more chicken and a little less vegetables- that would make it perfect. The vibes here are really nice- cool lighting and ceiling decorations. The only thing I really didn’t like about my experience was how hot it was inside. I’m not sure if the a/c wasn’t working or not but I was sweating the entire time so I hope they fix that.Overall, it was a great experience and I’ll be back.
Great food, great lunch specials, friendly service, and beautiful decor! I came with three coworkers on our lunch break and we were promptly seated. Servers were helpful in introducing the lunch specials and the food was great. I actually loved the soup and snack that came with the special, when those are the pieces that usually are most forgettable. Next time I’m going to try to get the upper level seating!
2nd time here, disappointed. My 1st time was good, but that was before covid. I recommend my friend to go for new years day. Had reservations. But when arrive they told us we only have 1 and half hour. So the whole process was rush rush rush. And the dishes very salty. Not as glamor as other pictures. I will not recommend any one to go again.
The best part of the experience is the staff. Everyone is very attentive, welcoming and do a great job. But, as a New Yorker, it feels like a tourist trap and the food definitely doesnt live up to the hype. My biggest complaint is the amount of sugar in every dish. Everything is very sweet including the spicy dishes. Theres really nothing special about this place that would warrant the price tag.
This place is amazing! I really love the food here, it’s my favorite Thai spot in the city. The interior of the place really has a unique feel and it’s what makes the experience great! Whenever I come to the city, this is literally my go to place for friends. Great food!!!But the only thing I got a little bugged about it how it seems that they are constantly looking at out table to see where we are at with our meals and it gave a sense of being rushed. I love how our server asks us how’s everything but there are others that just seem like they are tracking how fast we are eating out food and it was kind of distracting. When we were done with our meal I was waiting for another member of our party to come back from the restroom and while I was waiting they were like ready to pounce to clean the table. So I do wish that I don’t feel rushed, especially given that we do have 1.5 hours to dine. But other than that, great place to dine! I’ll always be back again.
Thai Villa presents an amazing experience from the moment you step inside. Though the waiting area was partially occupied by a flurry of takeout orders waiting to be picked up - they only served as a precursing sign that Thai Villa is a well enjoyed spot. However, after getting to my booth and receiving our drinks and food I realized that takeout does not do justice to the presentation and first-bite flavor that stays till the end of each dish. Every item was meticulously crafted and tasted as good as it looked. The food was not overly spicy or unique, but it didnt need to be. Its flavors were well-balanced, authentic and the portions filled you to the point of satisfaction. Service was kind and attentive and the wait time for a walk-in party on a Sunday evening was not unbearable. Overall, a must try place for Thai/Asian food lovers and one I cannot wait to return to!
It was definitely a delicious meal! From the perfect crisp of the spring rolls yo the richness of the coconut milk in the Massaman Curry and the right level of spice in the Pad Kra Pow, it was all amazing! I recommend having the coconut juice as a yummy, refreshing drink on the side. Great and quick service, lovely ambience!
This place is popping. The service is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the decor and ambience are top notch. They have a small seating area on the second-floor, and one of the two tables up there overlooks the rest of the restaurant (see pic). Definitely the best seat in the house. It would be a great date spot, or at least I assume so bc I have never been on a date :(
The decor here is very over the top with gold leaves all over the ceiling and intricately designed booths. If youre going with a group make sure everyone is on time otherwise you wont get seated. For appetizers we ordered the curry puffs, chicken satay, and dumplings. The curry puffs were my favorite. I ordered the Tom Yum fried rice with shrimp, I thought it tasted fine but it wasnt anything amazing. I tried the shredded Mango salad and it was really delicious. Overall everyone was happy with the food. This is definitely a good Thai place to try out and take lots of pictures in.
They have indoor and outdoor dining. It was lunch hour so we were seated right away. We opted for indoor because it was a humid day. We ordered the lunch special. It included spring roll, salad with peanut sauce and entrée. I got the beef pad se-ew. My friend ordered duck with pineapple rice.
Amazing Thai place in union square. Everything from the appetizers to the mains was amazing. I went for my favorite pad Thai and they were really well made. The ambience inside is gorgeous and very ornate which makes it a cool spot for a date night too.Wait times can be long so recommend making a reservation first!
Had the green curry. it was very tasty.Note that I havent had the dish before, but I found it pretty heavy and spicy - I got a second serving of rice to go with. I liked the various veggies and tofu. It had some pineapple, which wasnt bad, but I didnt feel it needed.Servings were filling and price was reasonable for dinner - around $20+ per person (including tip) if you dont get the signature entrees or drinks.Service was really nice. Like, memorably so.Low-quality photo attached..
Very beautiful interior design and delicious and large entrees. The Pad Gra Prow chicken is spicy and absolutely delicious. I have had this dish at nearly 20 other places in Manhattan and this is my new favorite. The service is very attentive and friendly. Their virgin drinks are yummy as well.
Arrived just in time for opening at 430pm. We were seated immediately and asked for indoor dining. The decor was very nice. The food was really good and arrived to the table hot. I ordered the duck and spicy wings which was good. The customer service here was also great. Would recommend for anyone looking to try thai food.
This is my favorite Thai Restaurant in the city! The food is great, and the service is awesome. On top of that, they are efficient and on time with their deliveries. Theyve got a wide selection of starters and mains, including chef specials. If youre into spicy food like I am, I highly recommend
Food and Drinks:I always love having Thai Food here. Its one of the best Thai food in NYC. My favorite dish here is Panang curry and Basil Thai Rice. Drinks are also really good, not at par with some special cocktail bars in nyc but good enough to a restaurant.Ambience and Service:The ambience adds to the experience of having Thai food. Great for pictures as well. Occassionally slow but the food is served pretty quickly even though they are always packed. Staff is courteous and welcoming. The best thing I liked is that they keep filling your glass of water if its get empty. Small thing but this shows they take care of customers. You feel like tipping good if they serve you good.Commute/Parking:Commute is pretty easy like it has always been in NYC wherever you want go. You aint gonna find parking here if you are coming on a Friday or Saturday. You might have to drive around a bit to look for parking but, you will get it.Enjoy, cheers!
Fancy digs at an affordable price! Great food and service. I got the mock duck pad Thai with a side of veggie spring rolls to split with my girlfriend and we both had leftovers for the next day. I would recommend for anyone visiting union square in need of a place to impress without breaking the bank.
Authentic Thai food served by a well-run business. We waited for about 45 minutes on a weekday for the meal because we did not have reservation in advance. The restaurant does not take same-day reservations. Lots of vegetarian options to choose from. All the dishes (Pad Se-Ew, green curry, vegetable fried rice, coconut-based soup) we had were awesome. Among the best Thai restaurants in the US.
Everything I ordered was delicious. It’s a little on the pricier range but the quality is good. The ambience added a lot to the experience. The staff are all nice and they all look like they are enjoying their job. Overall a very good experience on a gloomy monday. Will definitely come back.
Decent Thai food that’s in a great location for anyone. There was nothing poor about my experience but I just think the quality of food is normal and nothing special to write home about. You can find other Thai options in the area that are at a cheaper price and just as delicious. Beautiful interior though, loved the ambiance!
Wow, one of the best Thai places ever! I went here with my parents after a long day going around the city. We went with no reservations on a Friday afternoonish, however we did have to wait for a really long time. We had to wait for an hour, but my mom told us good things about this place so we decided to wait. We walked further down and there were lots of shops you can look in while waiting! Also once you put your name down they will just send you a text. So after an hour we came back and we got seated upstairs. The whole place is beautiful and if they ask you where you want to be seated ask them to seat you inside because it’s gorgeous! We started off by ordering Thai iced teas, and they were so good! Perfect to pair off with everything! For our appetizers we got coconut calamari, curry puff, and salmon puff. They were all super tasty and great to start off! Then for the main meal we got pineapple fried rice, this duck dish, and pad see ew! All of them were so delicious! Overall everything was amazing and will definitely be going back sometime! :)
The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my food allergies. Plenty of vegan, gluten-free, and low-spice (and high spice) items. The food well perfectly balanced in flavor and was so delicious. The craft drinks were also fantastic! I recommend the Lychee martini to those who enjoy less sweet, but full-avored drink. There was indoor seating (proof of COVID vaccine AND mask required) and outdoor seating. Indoor was very beautiful with lovely ambiance.Pricing was about what one would expect from a downtown tourist hub. A bit on the pricier side compared to what one would find in the local neighborhoods; but not the worst pricing I have seen. Again, this is a downtown Manhattan hot-spot so it is to be expected.Definitely stop by if youre in the mood for some unique chef creations or some standard Thai favorites!
Amazing lunch special! $13 for full entree, salad or soup, and an appetizer (unheard of in New York- especially at this quality!)The food was really good, made quickly, and service was great:) super friendly and attentive servers. The outdoor seating was nice, warm, and clean. Totally recommend this place
Chilean sea bass and it’s curry sauce base was incredible. Red Curry (very spicy!), Vegi Spring Rolls, scallop appetizer, and Thai iced tea were amazing. Smokey old fashioned and lychee-tini were delicious. Waitress was friendly and accommodating, and replaced our drink order for free. This place is poppin on a sat night; make a reservation or wait 1hr like we did.
I forget the name of the 1st pic. That‘s soooo good!Ive never tried the awesome thai food like this. Its worth trying! This is the best, ever. I had a great bday dinner here with friends! They offered candle for us, bc they bakery forget give us candle in it, I dont even know. They just so thoughtful
Absolutely amazing food! I tried thai food for the first time and I loved it! We ordered KUA GAI, KEA MAO, PAD THAI and BASIL FRIED RICE! My favorite is this basil fried rice! Each dish were approx $15.The place has excellent ambience and great service. The waiters helped me to choose the right dish and spice. They also have an outdoor seating area. The outdoor dining was pretty decent.I loved the interior! Great design and usage of the place.
The curry puff appetizer was delicious, the spring rolls were fine. I unfortunately dont remember the names of our dishes but one was delicious (chicken, bok choy, sticky rice), and the spicy beef dish was lacking flavor.Service was good but it was ridiculously hot in the restaurant, I was nearly dripping sweat. Easily 40/person if you get anything besides an entree. Quite pretty inside.
Amazing food and reasonably priced lunch menu. The Penang curry was on point and similar to the ones you’d get in Thailand. To be fair I’d give it a 4.5 as the cocktails were just ok (they both had too much of an alcoholic aftertaste for me) but the service was incredibly efficient and the decor was quite nice as well.
Wow! A nice thai spot close by Flat Iron. The food is so delicate, smooth, and tasty at the same time. Ingredients are fresh and the flavours are good for any palate! First time having Pad Thai and it tastes completely different that I expected, in a good way! The curry was amazing, and the coconut milk aftertaste was surely a great plus! And what else? The service was on spot! Very careful to details using a QR code menu and serving with gloves. The waiters were so nice and always on spot with a big smile visible even with a mask on! Felt so warm even in NY’s breeze days!Totally suggested if you want to have a sudden south-east Asia kick to the day!
Another awesome experience at Thai Villa. We came for dinner and were greeted by a friendly hostess.
One of my top favorite thai places in NYC.Really great lunch specials, drinks and absolutely beautiful restaurant. The lychee drinks are so delicious. This is one of the only places that make the food spicy when I ask for it! The prices are really great compared to most city restaurants!
Tried to go there for dinner but didnt want to wait 1.5h in line to get a seat. Came back another day for lunch and now I know why you should make a reservation when coming for dinner. The food me and 3 other people had was fantastic. I specifically recommend the panang curry. I am definitely coming back. The place also has very tasteful decoration (see attached image) which makes for a great atmosphere.Back in NY after a while... Place still rocks!
Totally outstanding! Everything was perfect, from the great service team, tasty and great food, the ambience is stunning. We had a bunch of things, we wanted to sample everything on their menu frankly. The portions are really generous and such creative options. The waiters are really nice and make great suggestions. You should definitely make a reservation, there seemed to be a long wait for walk-ins.
Delicious food.Great level of spice.Amazing interior and clean atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The chef is also very fast. We were surprised as to how fast the food came out. The flavor is amazing and unique in each dish. Highly recommend coming here.A bit more expensive compared to other Thai restaurants in the city, but honestly the atmosphere is great. Worth every penny. Can’t wait to come visit with more friends!
So first let me say this : the food was actually good .the big PROBLEM there is the staff members especially the lady with a hat and a talkie-walkie she was very rude to us for no reason she was really unprofessional and disrespectful we were actually SHOCKED of the way she talked to us ,i believe thats not how you should treat your costumers and she doesnt belongs in costumers service. So after all we had a bad experience because of here 😕
Honestly the food was nice but not amazing and not the best I’ve had, since there are so many great Thai spots in the city. I just wished it had a tad bit more flavor. I’d still recommend. Pad kee mao could use more sauce and the crab fried rice could use some salt. Servers were amazing and drinks were decent.
I have been here at least a dozen times and it was great in the past but their staff was incredibly rude this time. They have changed up who covers the front desk. We were waiting outside for the 4:30 pm service to start and were first on line. We politely asked if we could have a booth and we’re abrasively told ‘maybe’ and ‘sit down!’ My mother is unable to walk quickly due to orthopedic issues and she still yelled at us to ‘sit down!’ aggressively. It was obvious she was having trouble. Interestingly, she was very nice to others who, let’s just say, didn’t look like us…So disappointed considering that the food is quite good here…maybe better to take out
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place.Absolutely breathtaking inside. I would have been happy to go here every day while I was in New York.Thai food is my favorite and because of that, I am extremely indecisive (I want it all!).Luckily, our server completely understood my dilemma and made my decisions for me! I ended up with the red curry with crispy roast duck and it was incredible. My brother got the Pad Se-ew which was also delicious. We also must give props for their Smokey Mickhong Old Fashioned, it was beautiful and delicious, my brother stating it maybe one of the best he has ever had (old fashioned is his staple drink).Overall phenomenal place, with unbelievable aesthetic and ambiance, mouth watering food and the best service Ive had in years.Thank you so much I cant wait to come back.
Really like the food here - we got the pad kee mao with tofu and the massaman curry with tofu (and there was a lot of tofu!). Its also nice that they have quite a bit of outdoor seating. However, they are extremely crowded and busy and it can make for a somewhat stressful experience. They refuse to seat incomplete parties, which is hard to make sense of in situations like 3 people are here and the 4th is stuck on the subway (happens ALL the time in NYC!) - youd need the same size table for 3 people as 4, but they still wont seat you and they told us its because they have a time limit per table. We offered to order right away and wanted to be respectful of the time limit, but ultimately once we were seated the servers never told us about any sort of time limit nor tried to enforce it. I dont really see the point of being so strict and unfriendly to customers. Could see it being different if less of the party is present, or if they actually enforce time limits.
The wait was not too bad on a weekday evening. But they insist that the whole party shows up at once, which is completely justified. Awesome ambiance and great service, very snappy. The food is truly tasty. Surprised that this is not Michelin Star rated. But in my opinion it should be. Overall it’s a fantastic restaurant and a must visit while in the Union Square neighborhood.

2022-08-20Oh my goodness. The positive reviews did not disappoint! We came on a Saturday without a reservation and were able to be seated right away outside. Yes, the restaurant is beautiful inside, but sitting outside on a beautiful New York evening is wonderful as well. Our server was extremely attentive and seemed to be completely in the know as far as the menu was concerned. We ordered a cup of soup, two appetizers and a pad Thai to share. It was all amazing! If youre able to snatch up a reservation to this restaurant, do it! Or do like we did and miss out on the beautiful interior, but enjoy people watching instead and be prepared to be blown away by the food.

2022-04-12Man o man the food was excellent! My lady and I decided to go there on Saturday night without a reservation. We only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The service we received from our waiter was excellent. I had the best pad thai I’ve had in my life. The ambiance of the place was amazing, combined with the decor made for a great night. Try out their cinnamon ginger tea when you are done! Will definitely be back when I’m back in New York

2022-07-10All around amazing place. Drinks were really well crafted and balanced. Atmosphere was well decorated and not too loud for good conversation. Food was truly on point, flavor profile was really well done and artfully balanced. Papaya salad, seafood with duck egg, pork with stick rice. All absolutely amazing, this is an amazing place to bring someone who is a foodie and into Thai food.

2022-08-13Wow! What a beautiful restaurant and esthetically pleasing ! We were seated almost right away! Our food was so delicious! The waitress was nice at first, but rudely waited and watched how much tip I was giving. I don’t tip on tax and alcohol because you shouldn’t and she didn’t seem to be happy! Definitely will be back!Went back today, we’re seated outside. We had a wonderful waitress! Ordered lots of food and mostly was delishous, but the calamari were chewy!

2022-07-23One of the best Thai restaurants in Manhattan!Ambiance is amazing with gold leaf lighting. Food portions are large can even share. Can be a bit crowded or tight spaces but its worth for the quality of food. Make reservation ahead to be seated right away.

2022-07-31I was lucky enough for my girlfriend to plan a birthday dinner date at Thai Villa. I ordered the duck pad Thai and she ordered the chicken pineapple rice. Both dishes were super tasty and generously portioned. The restaurant itself is beautiful. You definitely come here for the ambiance. Tables are close together so prepare to sit somewhat close to other guests. Besides that, I’d like to go back again and try other traditional dishes that seemed to be fully available off the menu. Thank you Thai Villa for making my birthday special!

2022-07-29On par with Jackson Heights’ authentic Thai dishes but with and extraordinary ambiance!Very cozy, ideal for a date, but loud at times. If your spice tolerance is mild to medium, stick with the classics portion of the menu. If you feel daring go with Chiefs Signature or Privileged section of the menu. These tend to have more spicy dishes although some can be made on the milder side; Ask your waiter. Parties of 5 incur a 20% tip to their bill.

2022-05-11I visited this space, on a Friday night, it was packed and buzzing, but I was seated quickly. Actually, all of the service was speedy and the servers were attentive and quick. Music played the entire time and kept the feel trendy and almost like a very nice bar with ample seating and food options. I enjoyed it, a friend felt the music and noise was overwhelming. The interior of this space is great. The lighting is warm toned, as if the entire space were a candlelit dinner, and balconies offer some visual level changes. I didnt venture into the more intricate dishes, I had the pad Thai, and it was good. I had a jack and coke, and it didnt seem exceptionally watered down. Overall I had a good experience at this restaurant.
