My visits here are always hit or miss. I love that they experiment with different vegan dishes and have spontaneous vegan pies. Their vegan chocolate chip cookies are made in house and are super gooey and delicious. Their vegan mozarella sticks and breaded seitan are delicious. I highly dislike their pizza, it tends to be dry more often than not. I used to come here all the time until one unpleasant experience. I called in and ordered a whole pie, paid for it ahead of time, and sent a friend to pick it up because I was working. They ended up giving her the wrong pie, and they failed to call me and let me know until she had already made it to my place (a 40 minute drive). They offered no solution to this mistake on their end, and just told me to send my friend all the way back to them so that they could give us the correct pie, even after I told them how far she was from their location. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to deliver the pie to us and exchange it with the incorrect pie. I know everyone makes mistakes, but their reaction to their own mistake was unprofessional.
Theres an influx of pizza places on Long Island. Some good, some bad, and every so often you run into a place like this. First time visitor. Got my usual test slices. A regular and a white slice. I was very surprised at just how tasty both were. But when they came out they both looked great anyway. So yeah, the place is clean. The staff is friendly. And so far. The pizza is pretty great. I would take friends from out of state here in a heartbeat. I cant say that about most places
Great place to get vegan options. Being lactose intolerant, it is nice to have such a large amount of options to choose from. Staff is always very nice and helpful and the owner is always very polite and will work with you and make almost anything you want. They’re regular options are great too, I just get them dairy free. Definitely enjoy the food every time I go.
The various pizzas are very good. I always order the non-dairy pizza with various toppings. The crust could be a bit thinner and crisper. They cook on a screen, I like when the pizza touches the hot stone as it bakes (not a big deal). The staff is very helpful and plesant.
I hate leaving poor reviews when I’m sure they are understaffed but we’ve ordered from them at least 6 times and every single time our order is wrong. Every time. We will never order again. We’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt…sad since they have decent vegan options
The menu has an even combination of vegan items and regular items, perfect for vegan me and carnivore beau. The food was absolutely delicious and well prepared. To me, the quality of the sides are a good indicator of a good Italian restaurant. The linguine was nicely al dente. The broccoli was cooked to perfection - cooked but still crisp, unlike the mush you get in other places. The garlic in evoo on the broccoli was fresh sliced and well caramelized, and not that minced garbage from a jar.The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating. This restaurant is a top ten placeholder on our takeout shortlist.
I have never thrown pizza away - ever ... until today. The Grandma pie is loaded with oregano and tastes like cardboard. The Sicilian (the first was delivered with the cheese stuck to the top of the box) is tasteless. No amount of garlic powder, salt, red pepper flakes and/or sriracha can salvage it. The only place it belongs is in the trash.
Pasta e fagioli soup tasted very much like just garlic. Rice balls a little bland. I had this place twice before and was ready to rate it 5/5 based on the Vegan pizzas and their other soups but they fell flat this time. Service is great, though. Just a little disappointed- didn’t even finish the soup.
Top Knotch food, Top Knotch Service. Walking in thw front door you mouth begins to water with all of their delicious options and once you take a bite its like the whole world comes together. Oh and did they have some amazing vegan options that you would never know were actually vegan.
I usually always stop by here after hitting the beach for the day. I wouldn’t recommend the vegan mozzarella sticks unless you want a mouth full of Daiya cheese. the vegan mac was good, has a sort of spice to it. Nonetheless, this place has an amazing vegan Jack Daniel’s slice that I always come back for.
I dont think Ive experienced a warmer and more accommodating experience than I experienced one night in November here. My friend and I drove an hour and a half from Northern NJ (there was tons of traffic that night) to get a bunch of awesome vegan stuff they offer - penne vodka, mozzarella sticks (best Ive had in my LIFE), mac and cheese bites, and hot chocolate (another greatest Ive had in my entire life and its VEGAN).We were being rung up by Angela, who I believe is the manager, and when we mentioned where we came from, she very sweetly insisted that we stay so we could have our food while it was warm. She cleaned off a table in the corner for us, got us all set up with our food, and was incredible and so much fun to talk with.Although I dont get to stop by here as often as I would like to, I highly recommend the drive even if youre further away. Their food is unbelievably great stuff. Its very rare that I have something that to me is the best Ive ever had in my entire life, and it has happened TWICE here at That Pizza Place in Levittown. Hope we get to see you soon Angela!
Stumbled across this place by googling vegan places near me and found That Pizza Place and I am beyond impressed. Im new to the vegan venture and in constant search for the good fixes and I believe that I found my place! Ordered lunch with my work gals and they loved their non-vegan options, too! Only issue...Styrofoam containers!
There were so many vegan options that we had a hard time deciding. We finally opted for the grandma pizza and it was so delicious. Everyone we shared it with thought it was fantastic - one of our friends said it was the best pizza shes ever had. Even though its not close to us, well definitely be coming back often.
I had the vegan chicken club and it was delicious!! I was a little disappointed to learn they now use a shared fryer for their foods (aka they use the same fryers for meat and vegan stuffs), so one could debate if you would really still consider it vegan. The staff is very open about it and will let you know, plus its listed on the menu which items are cooked in the fryer. Great staff, great menu and prices. I really did enjoy the food. I would return.
The pizza is on point ! I got the vegan buffalo slice and was in heaven buffalo chicken was one of my favorite things before going vegan so this was a great replacement. We got a few other slices and the Brussel sprouts appetizer which was super yummy. The staff wasn’t rude but weren’t the nicest. It seemed like they were kinda frazzled. It put a little damper on the experience. We will deff be back !
Great service and there Vegan Buffalo chicken slice and the Vegan Mac and cheese bites are truly amazing. They are so good that I didnt even take a picture of them because I ate it so fast. The staff is super nice and friendly and its a great place to go if you have a restricted diet or a Friday during Lent.
30 minutes for pizza that came out wrong with non-vegan cheese instead of vegan. So i had to wait another 20 minutes without even an apology! They use a shared fryer so everything vegan and fried is cooked in oil contaminated with meat fat. This makes the food NOT VEGAN! Best to avoid this place because they dont care about contamination.
Dont let theyre vegan rep deter you, the place is the bomb for carnivores too. Theyre deep fried calzones are amazing, unique and the size of a football. Meatballs are awesome too. Cant wait to work my way down their new menu. Ive driven a truck in all five boroughs 30 yrs and visited my share of pizzerias. This place is a contender..!!
Vegan options are good ... just make sure they give you your correct order because my best friend got really sick from them giving her a not vegan order, sadly. But thankfully the owner was apologetic and wanted to make it right. She told the chef, he came out and apologized for his mix up since he took our entirely vegan order. Then prepared it...partially vegan and part not for some reason. The owner didn’t make us pay for the incorrect food and she gave us free vegan food. You could tell she didn’t want to lose us as customers. We did enjoy the vegan food
As a vegan, I was happy to try this place but was extremely disspointed not only once but twice. The first time my wife was given a chicken roll when we requested a vegan roll as upset and since the server was really young we decided to give it another try. I went back and they got my order all wrong and they left things out and was charged for something we didnt get.
Incredibly disappointed with That Pizza Place. Went there last night and purchased 6 vegan slices of pizza to go. The staff was completely disjointed, one of the workers needed to be reminded multiple times by the man who rung us up which slices we ordered and that we wanted the vegan version. The staff wasnt exactly welcoming or gracious to boot. $30 later, plus a 45 minute drive back home, after reheating bite take a bite into a slice only to find that they gave us the chicken parm slice that WAS NOT vegan. Horrible experience. Wish they cared more about their clientele and the quality of their service. Its a shame.
This place has delicious food for omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. I tried two different kinds of vegan pizza and they were both awesome (the buffalo chikn was my fave) and the vegan wings were yummy, spicy, and close to the real thing (don’t bite too hard because there’s a “bone” in the middle!). Besides pizza and wings they also have calzones, typical Italian entrees like eggplant parm, and hero’s. I was really impressed with their large, veg-friendly menu and I’ll definitely go back!
The vegan menu is absolutely delicious, they use whole foods, awesome cashew based ricotta and the cashew base is used in their Mac and cheeze, they have a very wide variety of vegan options and are actually expanding there vegan menu. The staff is friendly and I know from somebody else who ordered non-vegan food, they loved it as well. The place is clean, the food is delicious , I will definitely be returning!
There are not too many vegan-friendly restaurants on LI, so I am glad That pizza has tons of vegan options. I like most of the vegan dishes I have tried, especially their vegan buffalo cauliflower pizza with fries and blue cheese (even my boyfriend, who is not vegan loves it).
Its rare on Long Island for a place to have as extensive a vegetarian and vegan menu as this. Also plenty of parking, which can also be a rare commodity in that locality. Really enjoyed the cheese pies with sesame seed crust and the vegan Buffalo wings. I always ordered takeout so I cant speak for the delivery or dine in experience.
This place is deceiving from the outside. It looks like a goofy pizza place from the exterior painted design but when you go inside ,it is very nice. Nice area to dine in . What impressed me most was the way in which you order your food. A cashier takes your order and even asks what slice you prefer. Example corner or inside on your grandma slice. That person only touches the money. Others prepare your order. Organised clean place not to mention great pizza.
A great stop for vegan Italian takeout, delivery or stopping in for a quick bite. Some of of the specialty vegan slices are amazing (looking at you-chili cheese fries slice) also they have Vegan white pizza which my wife loves. This is definitely a quick stop kind of place. If your looking for more formal vegan Italian restaurant, need to go to Farmingdale or lindenhurst.
I was working on a construction job at 1am and saw this pizza place was open, decided to give it a shot. They stay open till 2am on some days which is awesome, where the hell are you going to find pizza at that hour? Staff was very easy going and friendly. Had a crazy variety of pizzas, def going back here whenever I can. Good luck with the new business guys, sure youll have no problem :)
A realitive newcomer to an area thats seemingly over-saturated with pizza joints, That Pizza Place is a solid choice for Levittowners and those nearby. Their specialty slices are delicious and they have a ton of options for those with dietary restrictions, or who are vegan. Try the Mac and Cheese slice - its a must-try!!
I think its nice to have a vegan place closer than NYC, but this place is the awful.I mean honestly, How would you give me a slice thats been sitting there for hours that was hard as a rock! The wife and my kids are very disapointed that this place serves old vegan pizza on display. Will stick buying diaya at wholefoods instead !! and making the pie at home
Having grown up in NYC, I was used to delicious pizza. Moving to Long Island 30 years ago, I immediately tried the pizza at Segesta, which is around the corner from my home. Edible, but not good. Once I ordered a chicken parmigiana dinner from Segesta and after one bite I was gagging and I tossed it. So bad. So when Segesta closed and That Pizza Place opened I immediately went in for a slice hoping it would taste good. I was extremely disappointed. It was dull and bland. Ive actually had better pizza in some places out of the NYC/LI area. Some restaurants on LI have fairly good pizza. But if I want the real thing, I will go to Brooklyn, Queens or Arthur Avenue in the Bronx.
This establishment was originally Segesta pizza, great food for 32 years. Then changed ownership, painted the building black, and changed the name to something a 3yr old couldve came up with. They served undercooked pizza (4x from my experience) and the food was very bland. Flavorless and non-italian.Now That Pizza Place has once again changed ownership. An Italian man is the new owner and the food is now suddenly edible again. The pizza is delicious. Ive only had a couple of things from the menu but Ill be adding another star after I try more. Keep up the good work.
I have had lots of food here I liked, the service tonight however has me questioning another visit. I waited close to an hour for 2 personal pies. Both were made incorrectly, neither were fixed or reimbursed. The best I got was next time you come I can do something for you. Huge disappointment.
The fanciest, creative plethora of tasty vegan slices, wanting of whole wheat dough. Uneducated, unprofessional staff charge for what is gratis elsewhere. There is constantly a strange man planted in the middle of restaurant, starting random conversations with patrons.
This place is a joke terrible pizza very overpriced very unprofessional staff should learn how to get a haircut and be groomed if you deal with food everybody there looks like they should be working in a tattoo parla with earrings in their nose tattoos all over will never visit again

2022-06-02Great vegan options! Whole menu and even identify what is in a shared fryer and what isnt. Vegan mozzarella sticks are really really good!May 2022 update: still love coming here when I am in the area. The vegan pizzas are amazing! I love their vegan baked Ziti and manicotti as well! Theres an ADA parking spot very close to the entrance and a few tables setup outside.

2022-05-13Will you guys all stop with the vegan pizza my goodness! If you’re going to get pizza don’t worry about it being vegan. Good gosh! The pizza here is very good but I’m not going to get a vegan slice ever

2022-03-19Im giving the regular slice here a five. Crust was crispy. Taste was good. But the sauce on it was the best Ive had on a slice maybe ever. It was like dipping bread in a big pot of gravy. Try one.

2022-03-11Regular cheese slice pizza hits all the flavor spots.Their specialty slices, like the BBQ chicken ranch and their vegan Buffalo, were insane. Amazing food!

2020-12-30THAT GARLIC KNOT. This place is different than what I thought it’d be like. It is chill, quiet, and kind of dark inside. But that’s ok. The people that work there seem nice and the pizza is good which is what matters most. They have a menu that has an entire vegan side to it. Will be back soon.

2022-05-28Um gross, absolutely gross. We got some vegan pizza and calzone (2nd time now) and I couldn’t even eat it! The taste was off on pizza and the calzone just looked gross and unappetizing and tastes like mush of god knows what, eww!!!How can you screw up a calzone? Eh. Should’ve just learned the lesson the first time. I don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews… this is probably the worst vegan pizza and calzones we’ve had. Never going back. Nope, thank you.

2021-05-02I got the plant based bbq and Jack Daniels pizza and both were delicious! The crust was soft but still perfectly crunchy. The sauce and plant based protein were amazing and honestly I couldnt tell the difference between that and real chicken. Will definitely be going back to try more vegan slices and food!
