The staff is horribly rude, the girl at the door needs to find a new profession she shushed me away and then made me wait over 40 mins for one shot.. She waved her hand in front of my face and yelled at me for not giving her the right paper for rabies and when I found the correct one she dismissed me and continued to hurry me with her hand in my face. The girl at the front desk taking the money needs an attitude adjustment and need to learn to multi task! My daughter 7 years old gave her a paper and this chic yelled at my kid and told her to wait in line she was waiting in line you yelled at her and couldnt handle the job at hand instead took it out on a child.. I would never recocmend this clinic to anyone and mind you they had about 40 large dogs and my teeny tiny dog in the same waiting area that was only about 8ft by 8ft at anytime those dogs couldve pounced on me, my child or my dog and killed someone or another persons pet... DO NOT GO THERE!
I’ve brought 4 of my babies here to be spayed/neutered/shots. Very well organized, not expensive, friendly staff. They explain everything ore and post op, give you any meds that you may need to give and don’t have a long wait for op. Usually 2-3 weeks! Love this place and will continue to use and support!
Took our adult cat here several months ago to get her spayed. We dropped her off in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon. She was a little lethargic and sleepy afterward, which was expected after major surgery, but the next day she was back to her normal self! They gave her dissolvable stitches that completely disappeared after about 2 weeks. No side effects or anything months later, just a happy and healthy cat. Really recommend this place.
Had my Dog Neutered here and am satisfyingly pleased. They were extremely knowledgeable, professional, divinely patient, and honest. He recovered well and quickly with a dew hiccups, but these were anticipated and explained by T.A.R.A. so it was no fuss. Would definitely recommend.
We have been using T.A.R.A. for years. You cant beat their low cost services.Despite the high volume of surgeries, the staff is friendly and professional even at the end of the day (or night). Everything was well organized and everyone is sent home with clear instructions. We just have our puppy neutered. His incision was clean and healed quickly.
They were wonderful with my baby Tabby. They took care of him like he was one of their own.. And for a fee almost anyone can afford I got him fixed, rabies shot, ears cleaned and nails trimmed. They treat us with respect as well..Im bringing all my babies back to them..Meowww
I have 2 big GSD’s. You cannot beat TARA’s prices & professionalism. First vet I bought my dog to in Bloomingburg was scared to death of my sedated/muzzled dog. Tara didn’t make me sedate my boy & handled them fine. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for neutering/spaying or yearly shots!!!
I brought my puppy to get neutered there yesterday. The staff was extremely friendly and informative. I felt confident leaving my puppy in their hands. Their pricing is also really good. When it was time to pick my puppy back up, the process went really smoothly. They took the time to explain how to take care of my puppy and what to expect. I really appreciate how professional and caring the staff is!
We took our 7 month old puppy here to be neutered and micro-chipped after a recommendation from my cousin who had his dog spayed at TARA. It was easy to make an appointment and the staff was very friendly and professional. I got to TARA around 7:30am (check-in was between 7:15 and 8:15) to drop my puppy off. I filled out the standard paperwork and brought him inside where they confirmed he was there for neuter, microchip and nail trim. I paid for the services and was told a pick up time of 8pm (no earlier). I think this was due to cats being taken care of before the dogs as cat pickup time was 4pm. If that is the case, it would be nice to be able to drop your dog off later so he isnt stuck in a cage all day. We arrived around 6pm to try and get him early, but was told again the pickup time was 8pm. Around 7:30pm, the gentleman came out and called us up. He gave a run down of the aftercare required and handed us the pain medication as well as an care instruction sheet. Around 8pm, he went in and got our puppy, who was still quite out of it from the surgery, which makes me think it was done way later in the day. They come out with the standard cone on. It healed as it should and our puppy was back to normal within 7-10 days. I would use TARA again and recommend to friends. I just hope they can adjust the drop off and pick up time based on appointments so the dog is not there for 12+hours.
Never ever go to Tara’s Spay & Neuter Clinic. I took my dog there to get examined before getting her spayed to make sure everything was okay. They told me she had stage 4 heartworm without even taking blood or anything. So I took her to another vet & they took blood and did a full exam on her and told me she don’t even have heartworm. The other vet I took her to called Tara’s to see why they thought that & they said they don’t even have a record of my dog being there..... Whatever you do AVOID wasting your money & your pets life on heartless people that only want money. They have no idea what they were doing. The girl that I dealt with at tara was also very rude and not friendly at all
Wonderful!!! Very friendly, respectful, knowledgeable staff. It was my first time dealing with them however I felt as if I was bringing my dog to an old friends house. Not to mention the money I saved. More importantly they really took care of my dog. Will be using this organization for any of my dogs/ cats needs.
I was referred to T.A.R.A. by Pike County, PA SPCA. I found T.A.R.A. to be very friendly, very professional, and extremely responsive. The appointment for my 1 year old German Shepherds neutering was scheduled within 2 weeks of my call. The staff answered my many questions, which I greatly appreciated. Upon my arrival to drop off my doggie, I didnt have to wait long at all, which was amazing! The surgery went well on 12/8/20, and my doggie is recuperating nicely (first day after surgery). The pick up time was scheduled for 9pm and within 15 minutes, the staff came out and explained in detail as to what we should do and not do. Then, the staff obtained our receipts and starting bringing out the dogs and cats. While we were the very last ones to get our doggie and we had an hour long trip ahead of us, we didnt mind for we realized how busy they were. While some were impatient, I realized that the staff had an extremely long day and appreciated their kindness and for helping our pets. I would like to thank them for doing what they do! I would highly recommend T.A.R.A. based upon my very positive experience!
Very very knowledgeable and helpful staff . While not a full service vet I acquired 4 feral cats and while a traditional vet has told me they are not tameable that i should euthanize them and couldnt be bothered with giving me timely appointments for them , TARA went above and beyond to help me neuter/ spay , vaccinate them . That allowed me time to get them socialized and they also help with monthly flea treatments , ear cleanings and nail trims . Thanks to them I have 3 skittish but almost normal pets and a 4th that is not hiding 24/7 now . They have been a god send
We used T.A.R.A.s mobile unit in Newburg to spay and neuter our two kittens. The kittens recovered quickly and did not appear to be in stress or have much pain. The wait in the morning was long but the staff was very professional and courteous and took the time to answer all my questions. I hoped that a facility that does so many procedures would be experienced and they did not disappoint. The price is very affordable and makes it much easier to afford taking in a new pet.
The staff is very friendly and caring, the make shots and other health services for you furry friend affordable and are very accommodating. I highly recommend T.A.R.A. for all your pets needs. Also please find it in your heart to donate if possible. The are always in need and do so much to help our furry family thanks to the staff 😁
I bring a number of pets through here for spay/neuter due to lower cost reasons. The cons are: They are chronically behind schedule at drop off & pick up. For example, expect to wait up to two hours beyond 8:15am. This is consistent with every appointment. It’s no different at pick up either. The sign in process is scattered & cumbersome & needs better organization for quicker flow process. It’s past time they have a integrated prepay for services options to help streamline the process especially with covid which would also streamline drop off and lower wait time and use a tablet to track all prepays. Aside from this they are skilled at their spay/neuter services.
I have been going to the T.A.R.A. mobile hospital for several years now and I have to say not only are they very courteous and friendly, they are also very professional and take the work very seriously. I say that because theyve helped me to be able to fix many feral cats, and it doesnt break the bank. Plus if you live in Monroe, and show proof at the town hall, you pay an even more discounted rate, getting a certificate you hand in the day of surgery. It is very handy to go someplace where you and your pet are treated in such a caring, professional manner and done in one day. Given very clear verbal and printed instructions at pick up. They also offer other services. Vaccines, flea, tick meds and even took care of my kittys hernia. I try to donate a bit extra in the end because we need organizations like these to help us care for our furry friends!
We love Tara! When you have a crazy cat lady wife who grabs every stray that walks by the house, its great to have t low cost way of controlling the population.A place so nice the birds come right over to say hi!The signs that say pick up your dog poop are not to be trusted. I stepped in it minutes after arriving.
We wound up taking a kitten who was left in a vacant apartment and Tara was there to help! They tested him for communicable feline diseases, neutered him and got him up to date on his vaccines all for a lot less than my local vet could have ever done! The staff was incredibly helpful and caring. They are a blessing!
Prices are not so bad but services could be better. My dog got neutered on a Monday and that same week he had to go back because they put a small cone on him and he was still able to reach his stitches but thankfully did not open fulley. Havent took off cone at all and thankfully No infection but was charged $25 for antibiotics just in case.
This is where We took my cat to get spayed 6 DAYS AGO. YEA THE Prices are affordable, BUT for the last 6 days she has been sick. Wont eat or drink, throwing up not her spunky self. When I called them they told me to bring in asap. I did. All they basically did was tell me I needed to bring her to a full service Vet... she was fine before I dropped her off..
A good friend could no longer handle a 70lbs red nose pit bull. I took over and one of the household requirements was to get him neutered. I called TARA to setup an appointment and for under $200 this huge puppy was fixed, rabies shot given and a saresto flea/tick collar. The staff loves our pets as much as we do. I felt comfortable handing over the leash.
Get place to bring you pets to get their vaccines. They charge next to nothing and have a website so you know exactly what you are going to pay before you even go. I saved about $55 taking my dog here as I did not have to pay for the office visit that my vet charges. The staff are animal lovers, they offer the pets treats and have coffee and cookies for us humans.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Weekdays mid day is the best time to go for lesser wait time. The staff is incredibly attentive, friendly, and very caring for my four legged babies. And of course, most importantly for my pockets, very affordable in comparison to other places.
I took my dog for her shots and nails trimmed. I warned the techs that she does not like her nails trimmed and shes strong. The tech put my dog in a strong choke hol . My poor dog could not breathe. The other tech told him to ease up and I had to step in and tell them to just hold her and trim her nails by putting her paw back. She was rude and told me next time dont tell us that shes strong and can bite u . I told her I never she bites because she does not. my poor dog is traumatized and tired I feel heartbroken. Im not going back. My dog was in distress Not good
I have the honor of working there with some absolutely wonderful people who care really really care about the benefits for an animal. All I can say is it everyday is a joy seeing animals being taken care of beautifully. Plus, the staff really work well together. This is where I meet a new family member Clara. She is a joy from Puerto Rico!
Clean, professional and warm environment! I had confirmed my appt for spaying my year old dog, Dallas the day before. A smiling attendant was waiting at the entrance to assist me. My dog, who is usually skish, had no problem going with the attendant. Another employee at the desk, handed me paperwork and registration was completed in short time. The receptionist even provided me with a coupon for nexguard!! I saved $172 overall (this included the spaying-veryeconomicial!) Great service!
Seemingly, My cat seems to be doing fine after they fixed him but they cut his nails so short without even asking his owners first. He is a kitten, his nails didnt even need to be cut. Theyre cut so short that there is dry blood on almost every nail, he cant even grip anything because they cut his nails so short. They tried to tell me his nails are probably bleeding because he was scratching on his cage, but he was on so much anesthesia that I doubt he had any energy to do so because when we picked him up he was could barely open his eyes. Would not recommend, it seems to me that there was a lack of care and rather then apologizing, the manager pretty much completed defended his employees.
This past summer I was preparing to attempt a TNR on 4 feral cats on my property. I called TARA to tell them that I had zero experience with this, but all my research indicated this was what I needed to do. They agreed and laid out the process for me. Come to pick up the rented traps and when I returned with the cats the rental fee would serve as a credit toward the spay/neuter. Simple right? Ok, Im on my way in to pick up 4 traps. I get there and they only reserved 2 traps for me - with the guarantee of the remaining 2 tomorrow. I head out the next day and before I got to the highway, it occurred to me that I should call to verify the traps were there. I did. They werent. But I was directed to the mobile clinic in New Windsor. I arrived there and no one was outside the vehicle, but my 2 traps were there. I knocked on the door. No answer. So I filled out the paper work, took the 2 traps and assumed I would settle up tomorrow when I brought all four cats in for the procedures About an hour later, I received an irate call from someone in the mobile clinic (cant remember her name..maybe Cheryl?) who acted as though I stole her traps. Please keep in mind that she is calling me because I completed a form with my name and my phone number. I made the incorrect assumption that for this little TNR project I was in business with these people, but business requires professionalism, and sadly she had none. So I drove all the way back to New Windsor to hand her the cash. The next day after the procedures, when it came time to pick up the cats, they asked how I would be getting them home. Shocked, I said, I assumed I would use the traps and then return them. Of course not. So I end purchasing 4 traps on my own - and donating 4 small animal traps to these people. You would image that if this was your work, you would have a passion for it - and you would be eager to help someone who is new to the cause. My opening line was Ive never done this before and I need to know all about how it works. But these people have ZERO professionalism. It cost me unnecessary money and an additional 70 miles of driving. The quality of the medical treatment was acceptable - although I wish they would have told me that one of the feral females was lactating, because I later discovered that she had given birth no more than 4 weeks earlier. It felt more like a collection of federal employees working against their will than a group of local folks engaged in a community passion project. And specifically that angry woman (Cheryl?) should be absolutely ashamed of herself. The cats continue to live on my property and I provide for them, but I live in fear that another cat will join the colony, because I never want to see or speak to these people again. RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION.
Yes it cheap in price wise but I wouldn’t recommend these services to family or friends because I had a horrible experience with them. My 9 months old cat had past away after getting neutered by them. He got really sick for three days straight and never wanted to play. Then I woke up on May 3,2019 at 5 am in the morning to my cat crying in pain. He is in heaven now but I will never go back there ever ever again
They have a home base in Middletown but their services arent limited to their home base. They also have a van that goes all over Orange county and Sullivan county. They offer low cost spay/neuter for your cats (by appt.) and I believe they also neuter dogs. Along with the spay the give rabies vaccines and a checkup all included in the price. They have cat carriers and have a heart traps (small deposit required) for strays. Where else can you get all of these services? I know I fully support the Animal Rights Alliance.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!! Dirty chop shop. almost killed my cat and will not take responsibility for it. She still may die from complications and lives in pain daily. By trying to save money you will end up spending hundreds, perhaps thousand more to save your pet. I should have learned my lesson the first time when all 8 of my cats contracted a horrible painful mouth virus by TARA staff not being clean between feral cats brought in with disease and house cats. My vet warned me too late how many of his patients he had to fix what they inflicted on their cats and dogs, just horrible stories .. Please, do not risk your pets life or health at this scam of an animals rights advocate, They deny any wrong doing and refuse to compensate for anything. Steve the owner is rude and unprofessional.
The woman that answered the phone when calling to inquired helping ferrel cats in the area that are being abused, doesnt give you a word in edgewise. She loved to hear herself talk, was so nasty and rude when I was making an attempt to help them she abruptly hung up on me twice! She is old, nasty and should be fired. She is uneducated with no people skills. When it comes to people trying to inquire how to help animals she should just listen. And she also mocked me for having serious health issues on disability. I am advising another animal hospital NEVER to ferer them again!!
I had found out that my baby of 5 years had pyrometra on February 4th 2020 and it would cost 3,000 in order to have the surgery done or else she would die the emergency clinic that I took her to was not pleasant or comforting I cried all not feeling useless and stayed up all night trying to find vets that would help her I was just about to give up when my mom told me about T.A.R.A and gave me their number I contacted them and I cried tears of joy when I found out they could help me so sweet and kind one employee even offered me broccoli cheddar soup that she had brought in while I waited for my baby to be done with surgery
I THINK ITS A GREAT AND NEEDED SERVICE. WE NEED A VAN IN EVERY COUNTY.I WAS ANNOYED THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO GIVE THE VET MY REVOLUTION TO USE. I HAD IT ALREADY AND IT WOULD HAVE HELPED SINCE I AM SPAYING SO MANY CATS. SOME OF US THE $17. I WAS WILLING TO SIGN A WAIVER, BUT THEY SAID NO.I A WONDER IF ALL THE SMALL PRINTED PAPERWORK IS NECESSARY. IT SHOULD BE STREAMLINED AND FILLING OUT . WE SHOULD PROVIDE STRICTLY NEEDED INFO.MAYBE WE CAN GET THE FORMS MAILED AHEAD OF TIME SO WE CAN FILL OUT IN ADVANCE? JUST LOOKING FOR WAYS TO MAKE IT GO FASTER SINCE I WILL BE USING THE TARA VAN OFTEN:)

2022-03-01If you are looking for a low cost option to spay or neuter, I would highly recommend TARA. The staff is amazing …… I wasn’t too sure about leaving my pup behind but the second I met the staff, my worries were gone. What an amazing team they have …… it took me about an hour to drop off the dog from the time I checked in and pick was probably a lil less. So plan accordingly. I was super impressed by the way this place runs and how they treat the fur babies. Pic for cuteness…

2022-06-30TARA is a fantastic way to get affordable spay and neuter for your pet, I have used them in the past and they were friendly and attentive, and I will be seeing them again in July for two cats. So far they were still friendly on the phone, however call immediately because there is a slight wait for an appointment at the moment.

2022-06-08I have brought all my pets are to be fixed and for vaccines when needed they make it affordable for people to own pets which is very important considering how many homeless/unwanted dogs and cats there are in this world! They definitely are making a huge impact reducing the number of unwanted pets...also they are great at what they do

2021-11-18I got my kitten neutered here, they have you drop off at a certain time and they monitor your fur baby for 8 hours and then you pick up at the end of the day. My kitten recovered quickly and nicely from his procedure here with no complications, and the cost was great! The vets that work there are very nice and explain everything to you and answer your questions. I traveled almost 2 hours for to come here and it was worth it.

2018-09-13Im so happy and grateful for this place! I walked in with my scared pup and he had an accident , the front desk person was busy but she was so kind and understanding she stopped what she was doing and got a baggy And instead of giving it to me she went to clean it up and told me it was perfectly fine not to worry . They provided pain medication the plastic cone and they explained the process before and after and what to expect. Today is day 3 and my dog is great!
