The Art Farm in other cities:
The Art Farm is an amazing place with lots of great classes for the kids!!All the activities are great: Art for Busy Kids with Miss Katie, who is so nice, cheerful and very good teacher!, Animal Exploration with Miss Samantha, so kind and very knowledgeable about all the animals in the petting zoo on the spot.We attended The Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop this weekend and my two daughters (5 and 3 years old) enjoyed this activity so much! The new renovated space is so beautiful and very welcoming!Erin, the manager, is very friendly and caring! We love The Art Farm!
Excellent classes! My 1.5 year old enjoys them thoroughly and her language and social skills have improved tremendously ever since she has attended these classes. The place is maintained very well and the animals are an added plus for the program. The staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating. Money well spent in my opinion
My daughter has been coming to ArtFarm since she was a baby and now she is 6 years old. We celebrated her birthday here and everyone had a wonderful time, including the parents. They also accommodate the number of requests concerning food allergies. Art Farm is a safe haven, creating a sense of normalcy during pandemic times.
We did my sons 3rd birthday here and it was fantastic. Katie and her team were wonderful and as parents, we were able to relax and truly be guests at the party. I didn’t have to think about one thing! Katie’s energy was fantastic and she seamlessly moved the group from one activity to the next. Highly recommend!
We had our son’s 2nd birthday here and the Art Farm team did a wonderful job. Katie was the party director and she made everything so simple. She was organized and very responsive from the pre-planning to the party and then clean up. She facilitated the food for kids and adults, decorations, setup, events and even party favors. The kids (ranging in age from 1 to 6) all had a blast and there was something to engage all ages. Highly recommend.
We love Art Farm! I started taking my older daughter to a weekly music/farm class before she was 2 years old, and she so enjoyed it, especially meeting the animals. The instructors are AMAZING -- so great with children. We continued with our class as well as drop-ins on the weekends, which were a lifesaver through the winter. Art Farm now visits my daughters preschool regularly and she loves it. I plan on taking my younger daughter to classes once shes older.
The ArtFarm is amazing! My children have attended their preschool programming, after-school classes, baby and toddler classes and visited their animals at their farm. Everything they do is done so with thoughtful care, compassion and love. The staff are incredible, knowledgeable and supportive. I cannot recommend the ArtFarm enough!
My child took part in the Art Farm Summer Camp. It was overall a wonderful experience. The staff are very welcoming and patient with both the children and the caregivers. The curriculum is very engaging and hands-on.Each day my daughter had art, music, gardening, cooking, sports, and absolutely loved all the different animals she got to meet everyday.I greatly looked forward to the art projects and baked goods my daughter would come home with on a daily basis. My daughter’s language development also increased greatly while she attended this program.Ms. Allison would always tell me how my daughter did when I would pick my child at dismissal, which I greatly appreciated. My daughter and I will definitely be returning for other future Art Farm activities.
The Art Farm is the perfect place for a kid’s birthday party! My daughter loves animals and arts and crafts so naturally we went with The Art Farm. My daughter was so excited to have the animals there. She was able to pick which animals she wanted to have at her party. In fact, she had a hand in all of the details of her party including the party favors, decorations, and the craft project. The staff at the Art Farm are birthday party pros who go out of their way to make sure that the parents don’t have to worry about anything. In particular, Katie was on hand for all aspects of the party from planning to the actual day. She had the details of the party well organized with many options and even add ons to choose from. Katie was excellent during the party itself too. She made the parents and the children feel welcome and comfortable. The other 2 staff members were great with the children as well and worked so hard to make sure everyone had a great time.I highly recommend The Art Farm to anyone who is looking for a party venue!
I first went here pre pandemic with my then 8 month old. We went for the open play and to see the animals. There were maybe two other children there, both toddlers. My daughter and I played in the open space for a bit. There were many toys for her to choose from. Then we went to the room where the animals were. One employee took us around to each animal, this included: iguanas, birds, a tortoise, a chicken, rabbits, and maybe a few others. My daughter interacted with each animal. It’s was really nice. We’ve since visited again. The home location is under renovation and the temporary location is right on the same block. The experience, of course, is different. I was expecting to go back and see the same animals. (Shame on me for expecting anything to me the same.) That was not the case. A woman came with 4 animals, a lizard, a dove, a gerbil, and beetles. My daughter is now 18 months and this did not capture her attention quite the same. She was much more active and didn’t really want to wait for the animals to come her way in the rotation. There’s still a nice big space for playing as well as arts and crafts. This second time was more on the ok side, but we’ll try it out again.
Art farm is a great event space for children. Perfect for a birthday party. The staff are attentive yet unobtrusive. Babies, toddlers and kids of older ages are equally at home, whether listening to music, doing arts and crafts or petting animals ( under careful supervision).
Our family just hosted a 5th birthday party at The Art Farm for our daughter and were delighted with both the process and the result! Katie was incredibly organized and genuinely enjoyed every aspect of putting the event together. She and her team were excellent hostesses to all of our guests! The kids were active and engaged the entire time and the grown ups were able to have a wonderful time with their children and with each other! Thank you to The Art Farm for absolutely everything!!! Our daughters special day was MUCH more special because of you!!!
My now 4-year old daughter has been coming to Art Farm for three years now and we love the place. We started with the cooking classes and expanded to the art classes, stayed with them through Covid zoom classes and this past summer she went to their in-person camp. The place is special with all the things that they do and offer, but I think the most important thing is that everyone there loves the kids and wants them to be happy and to leaven important things. Thank you to everyone at Art Farm!
Our school used The Art Farm for an educational portion of an event we were having and they were phenomenal. The students were so engaged and entertained with learning more about the animals. The warmth and knowledge shined through the presentation given.I strongly recommend using them.
I went with my six year old daughter. She loved having the choice of art activities, toys or seeing the animals. The art activity is something that’s good to do when they first get there by the time she’s done the animals come out. She spends the rest of the time learning about the animals and interacting with them. It is a safe place for children to learn about animals and be gentle with them. If your child loves animals this is a great place .
This is my daughters second summer at the Art Farm camp. I love the flexibility to sign up for specific weeks, sign up for specific days (2, 3 or 5 days) and the option of extended day. The program is packed with wonderful structured activities that all leave time for the children to free play and be kids. Some of the highlights of the camp activities include gardening, cooking, live animals, and swim lessons. Extended day is relaxed and less structured which is just what the kids need after a fun and busy day at camp. Extended day still provides an opportunity for kids to participate in different activities. Its a time where children are free to do kid centered art activities, play games such as hide and seek or hang out on the terrace. The counselors are friendly and warmly greet my daughter each day. I highly recommend the camp program!
This is an all around wonderful organization! Ever since moving to the Upper East Side we have taken advantage of their weekend morning petting zoo hours, attended birthday parties there, sent our son to their pre-school program and sent both kids to their summer camp program. I work in the building where they host their summer camp, and I can see first hand what a wonderful job they do and how much fun the kids have.
This was the first place I felt comfortable taking my sons (ages 4 and 2) during the pandemic. They’ve been extremely COVID conscious. The teachers are fun and engaging. What I love about the classes is that they provide a variety of activities: my little one does music, art, and animals all in one class. My older son does art and animals. Great neighborhood spot for the littles! Highly recommend.
We absolutely love the Art Farm in the City. We live in FL and every time we visit NYC we visit for a class and time with the animals. My daughters speak about the bunnies and guinea pigs constantly, and cant wait to go back to see them again. The staff is very kind, knowledgeable, and patient with the kids and they make everyone feel so welcome.
We love the art farm!! Its been a favorite for years!. Its so much fun to go to spend time with the animals and be able to pet them and get to know them in a intimate atmosphere, I like that its not too crowded and they have so much stuff to do like arts and crafts, music and cooking!!. Plus the toys they have are amazing and we always end up needing one. Definitely cant recommend this place enough. It has everything you want and more!!. A win win all around!!. I love the staff, theyre the best!!.
Our daughters birthday party at the Art Farm was great! It was so wonderfully easy and convenient- we just had to show up and the staff did all the setup for us. Our friends all told us what a wonderful party it was too. Everyone agreed that the pace of the party was perfect, with the amount of time allotted for each activity being just right and neither rushed nor dragging on. The kids had a great time and my daughter felt very special. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a great and easy party for their child.
The art farm is an excellent space for kids to learn about animals and get an interactive education through its programs. Also, my son attended their 2 and 3 year old program and had an excellent time where he was able to learn many skills for speaking, socializing and problem solving. I am a fan of this establishment.
My almost 4 y.o. daughter and I absolutely love the Art Farm. My daughters favorite part is playing in the playroom and getting to know the animals downstairs. She gets so much joy when she has a chance to hold a cute little hamster or a bunny on her laps and pet them. She is in love with animals so she gets so happy when she gets close to them. I like that everyone there is very friendly and helpful. They have a very good atmosphere in the Art Farm for sure. We all love going back there.
My son has been going to the Art Farm for 3 years now, and we absolutely love this place! From animal science to cooking, the classes are great! And the hands-on time with the animals is priceless. Also, the staff has been very kind and accommodating, and they are perfectly fine with him attending classes with his SEIT (many places are not). I highly recommend Art Farm for any child who loves animals and/or cooking classes. Weve had a wonderful time here.
We love The Art Farm in the City. They have classes and open play that we have attended at their old location. We’d love to visit the new location. We tried a Farm Foodies class and the children baked. Their treats were delicious. My son loves the animals and the staff is super sweet.
My 2 year old daughter loves the classes at The Art Farm, and the staff is wonderful too!So far we have tried Rock, Smocks and Animals class, and 2 year old separation class. She enjoyed each and every class. We are looking forward to going back to The Art Farm in the fall.
Went to a birthday party here. My daughter had so much fun and loved all the animals. The staff were very warm, professional and attentive. They did a great job of making the birthday party a great experience for all the kids. I would definitely recommend the Art Farm to friends!
My son Kerry started at the Art Farm in the city for their 2s program twice a week. He enjoys their arts and crafts, music and singing, baking, story time, and most of all caring for and meeting the animals. I have seen him grow such a special love for animals as a result of his interaction with them at the school. Its ao adorable to see him with no fear get right up close to Bennie their large tortoise, the bunnies, lizards, Guinea pigs and so on. The teachers and administrators were so kind and gentle to him through the extra time he needed to achieve separation. After battling and beating cancer as an infant, he was particularly sheltered and needed some special patience as he became accustomed to the routine of school. The goal was to prepare him for 5 day a week preschool for the fall after he turned 3. Now we see how confident and happy he is when we arrive and he says his goodbyes. He looks forward to school and jumps for joy the days he gets to go. He LOVES his teachers, Miss Lily in particular. He is now doing their summer camp and they do such an amazing job. He loves the experience! We will definitely keep his association with the Art Farm alive...its such a gem in this city.
We love the Art farm in the City! My daughter, Emily, took classes there, we attended special events like Halloween and she also had her birthday party there. We love the teachers and farmers who work there and they did a fantastic job with her birthday party. I highly recommend the Art farm for birthday parties and also for their classes.
My daughter LOVES the UES Art Farm. She has been attending classes for almost 2 years and I only have wonderful things to say about the teachers and the opportunity my city kid has to interact with animals or all sorts. She is comfortable around various animals (including birds, lizards, turtles, hamsters, etc)and has been taught how to handle them and learned age-appropriate details about them. She has taken the cooking class and finds it great fun! We recently had her 3rd birthday party at the Art Farm (she really loves this place) and it was a hit! Everyone so easy to work with during planning. It is a one-stop-shop and that was very important to me as a full time working mother.
The Art Farm was the perfect venue for our sons fifth birthday party last year. The staff led the regular birthday singing, dancing, and cake-cutting with aplomb, and the kids absolutely loved the Art Farms special offering: Art and animal petting. If you are planning a party for a child in the 4-8 age range, and the Art Farm is within your budget, you should seriously consider it.
I had a party for my 3 year old granddaughter here recently. What a terrific place, terrific party, terrific staff. We had about 10 kids and 20 adults.Art Farm is ideal for an intimate party of this size (or somewhat larger).I had a standard party with a guitarist add on.Go for the guitarist. Wonderful! The progression of the party from one space to another to another, and then ending up in the petting zoo was perfect!
I could not say enough good things about the Art Farm. From Valentina (owner) to Christina (head of operations) to Sarah (head teacher) and everyone else who works tirelessly, patiently and lovingly to create a magical gem of a safe haven for your child to learn and grow are amazing!!! It’s a thoughtful and nurturing approach to establishing the building blocks of learning, socializing and exploring. We love the Art Farm and you will too!
Celebrating my daughters 2nd birthday at the Art Farm was great. Unfortunately the staff that worked the party are not the same people who work with the school. My daughter, husband and I had a very unpleasant semester there which was unfortunate because they advertise themselves as being nurturing but we found the staff (most of them) to be rather harsh and short with the children.
My daughter attended this program for three summers and LOVED it (and it went for 8 weeks, so rare in NYC!). She is still talking about the chinchillas and may want to be a jr counselor here when she is a teenager. They had great art, cooking, and animal programs. Every week in the summer was assigned a different theme. The staff were all very nice. I see that someone is criticizing the director--Valentina--yes, she can be a bit snooty and cold, but I think underneath it she is a good egg. Still, I can see why she might be off-putting to some parents. But the most important thing was that my child was safe and happy. The other woman, Christina, made up for any of other coldness and we loved her.Recommend this as a summer program! In other instances I know that they do parties and classes, but we never did them. Parties are v expensive, though adorably done.I miss this Art Farm days!
Had my babys 2nd birthday here. It was great, all of the kids had a nice time. They especially loved the art project and and animals. The music time was cute too. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. It was a success and the party favors are of high quality. I loved it
This review is for their summer camp at Trevor Day school.I cant say enough good things about them my picky and otherwise shy 4 yo cannot wait to go back - he loves activities, people, and the location itself is beautiful.I personally really enjoyed meeting the program director - Christina - she is wonderful.
We had a wonderful experience with the Art Farm summer camp. ^ months later my son still asks to go to their petting zoo which was part of the program. The program and staff is very organised. It allows for flexibility, keeps children engages and they also allow SEITs. I will definitely be looking in summer camp 2018.
A hidden charm in the city. Animals sets and crafts and cooking. Plenty of activities for the little ones. All sorts of cute small animals to learn about. Dont forget to bring a camera to get a cute photo of you child with a cute chicken or bunny. Very clean not smelly like the NY zoos. Plenty of cooking programs and mornings on the farm is fun.
It is a great place for young children to get close to animals. To touch them and learn about them and what the different animals eat. Whether it is a class or free to play and explore the children get to see, feel, touch, draw, sing, play and dance a full sensory experience.
The first floor has toys selling in the front and two rooms, a small playroom with alot of Melissa and Doug toys and a second room for arts and crafts. The basement is where all the farm animals live. There are bunnies, chicken (they laid eggs!), Guinea pigs, birds, turtles and lots of lizards. The bunnies pen you can just walk in to pet the bunnies and the staff there are really friendly and will bring out the lizards for the children to touch. Not a whole lot to do that will actually occupy a few hours, a hour or 2 there will be enough time.
My boys (4 and 6) spent a week there at camp while we were on vacation. They had a blast and made great friends. The Cat in the Hat visited which they still talk about months later. Every day they had an activity - soccer, swimming, field day among others. Of course, taking care of the animals on site was their favorite part! We will be back!
The place is not very clean and you get the vibe that the staff is not very happy. Overall somewhat depressing, also the animals look miserable and dirty. For the price of the tickets they could at least replace the toys in the playroom: chipped paint, dirty, etc... I bought a 5-day pass but won t use the remaining 4 tickets. Definitely NOT worth the money and a sad place to bring my baby.
Um, Ok. So I was expecting a big open space with a well-maintained indoor farm; this is not that. The idea of an indoor farm during the winter months for my kid to play is awesome - but what this space actually is, is a relatively old building in need of updating, a basement (yes, basement) with animals in make-shift cages - think struggling, meldew-smelling, pet store - and an owner whos pretty rude,Now, Im a native New Yorker, so I can excuse rudeness, but this place isnt affordable & you do NOT get what you pay for.PROS:The staff seemed nice. There was a lot of stimulating things for the children to doLocation: that area may be a good fit for mostCONS:Sub-standard service, building etc.Not spacious at all
Since the Arts farm MOVED to the building next to GYM, classes have no longer regular schedule. Even if you may see them indicate online as open - do call, because you may find no one in the building or they send you away, because there is no class. It had been fun in the past. Not so fun now, but hopefully they will settle soon and resume their mailing list and classes

2022-06-20The Art Farm is a terrific experience for any young child. We did Rocks and Smocks with my eldest when she was 2-3 and it was terrific for socializing. Both my girls have taken Farm Foodies multiple times and have loved it. Chef Ross is so friendly and will help tailor recipes to cover allergies if you make a request before class. The best part is the farm part though. After each class the kids get to meet tons of animals and get to pet and learn about them. They have everything from flop eared bunnies to doves to walking stick bugs to blue tongued skinks. The farm staff are so knowledgeable and beyond friendly. I highly recommend The Art Farm to anyone with small children.

2022-06-21The Art Farm is amazing! I started visiting the Art Farm when my daughter was 4 years old. She is almost 9 and it is still one of her favorite places to visit. The staff is attentive, patient, and professional. Recently, I had my daughters birthday at the Art Farm and it was wonderful. The staff took care of everything from creating the schedule, securing the scientist (Mad Science theme), set-up and engagement. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the team. Katie, Jona and the 2 assistants, Sergio and Tara, are FABULOUS!

2022-02-06We had our daughters 4th birthday at Art Farm and it was perfect from beginning to finish. The event coordinator took care of everything and also offered her suggestions which were greatly appreciated. On the day of, everything went exactly as they stated. The staff took care of everything and my daughter and all her friends enjoyed every moment. From the dance party, to making their tie-dye shirts to the petting zoo and then finishing up with pizza and cake, the kids had a blast. I would highly recommend any party celebrations you want to remember to be held here!

2022-05-23Thank you so much Katie to you and your team!! You really are the best event planner. You had everything planned with thorough details resulting in a smooth and seamless and perfectly executed toddler birthday event. Not only that but everyone had an AMAZING time! This truly wouldn’t have been possible without you. I am so happy we decided to celebrate at Art Farm. I will definitely be coming back because of you! :)THANK YOU!!!Best regards,Diane

2022-04-20Rocks, smocks & animals! One of the best music classes I have attended. I watched my child become more and more involved in the class, instead of sitting back and watching. Even at the sitting back and observing stage, there was still enjoyment. Obviously, it is fun to watch you child interact and participate but if you have a “slow to warm up child” this is a great environment. Plus an environment where listening and follow directions is put into the actives. Introduced to many animals and able to pet them, something every kid loves!

2021-12-30Awesome place. Clean friendly and they have the best cooking program for kids available. My daughter and I had the best time rolling out the dough and making pumpkin pie tartlets the first time we went and back for a second time with cookie decorating. Next was the petting zoo which had more than just hamsters and fish. My daughter really loves playing with the rabbits and learning all sorts of fun facts about the doves and lizards. The hissing cockroach was truly impressive. Would recommend this place all day long.

2022-03-14I have been taking my grandchildren to Art Farm for the past ten years. I live in Staten Island and have found that the trip was well worth the drive. One at a time, when they were age appropriate, I traveled to the City and felt that their experiences there were stimulating and so much fun. Each one of them loved going to class. Their exposure to live animals, storytime, music and more, kept their interest and it was fun for me as well as them. I will be starting another session in April and look forward to it very much. The teachers are friendly, talented, organized and are excellent at encouraging the children to participate.

2022-03-25We had a birthday party at the ArtFarm (March 2022) for my 5 year old and it was amazing. The kids had such a great time and parents did too. The recently renovated space is laid out really well and perfect for keeping the kids entertained (and creating a fun reveal for the animal portion). The staff were all great and made everything from booking the space (available through their website) through the end of the party a breeze. During the party, the staff members were amazing with the kids, and created a really special, fun day!

2022-06-08I recently had my daughters birthday party here and it was absolutely fabulous. Every single parent told me how great the event was. Katie and team took all the stress out of planning and we basically were able to just show up and enjoy! Would highly recommend the Art Farm

2022-01-22My 18-month-old has been attending the Rocks, Smocks and Animals class for a few months now and absolutely LOVES it. The staff go out of their way to know each child by name (and theres a lot of kids!) and are always kind and patient. Our teacher is Ms. Katie and she is amazing. Could not recommend The Art Farm enough!
