The Bagel Factory in other cities:
The Bagel Factory has great bagels, especially for this area. All of their workers are also all very friendly and so the restaurant deserves recognition for that. However, they have a very clear organizational problem. Perhaps out of all three of the times I ate in-person, they had forgot someones bagel that I was eating with. Each time, one of my friends had to go up to the counter, 15 after everyone else received their bagels, and ask for theirs. They would have then made the bagel then and there. This happened every single time I sat down to eat there.Today, I was left on hold for over 10 minutes after calling to get a pickup order. I could hear them the entire time and while the first minute they were dealing with customers, the last 9 they had simply forgotten they had an active phone call out on the counter. The worst part is, the exact same thing has happened to me once before around a week ago. They clearly have great hearts and great bagels, and I will still continue to order for them as their food is quick and fresh, but they need to figure their organizational management out.
Today was my first visit here. This place is a cute bagel restaurant that has breakfast and lunch offerings. The bagels are perfect, they have loads of flavored cream cheeses and lots of combinations for toppings on sandwiches. The home fries are wonderful. My middle daughter accidentally spilled her lemonade and a nice man (the owner?) gave us a new one. We will come here often!
Great food, always had good service until today, got very bad attitude from several employees for trying to confirm my food as correct, also told the guy behind me that he must not be from the city if he thinks their prices are expensive, were not from the city nor are we in the city. They upped their prices by a few dollars.
Great place, good food.....I do wish they were a little more organized however. The staff is friendly. But once I was told by one employee that my payment was declined so confused I took my card out to pay again then the one who originally rang me out was like no that’s not hers. They they started yelling at each other about whose payment was really declined.Other times we would sit waiting for our food to be finished and not be notified that it was ready.
I’ve debated on whether or not I should leave a review. However after multiple attempts to ‘retry’ this place it’s truly been a hassle.Do not get me wrong. The FOOD IS DECENT - the bagels are not the best in the world but they offer a variety of homemade items which is outstanding and something I prefer. The prices are not horrendous, the establishment is very well kept but the customer service/functionality is bad. After having a girl be rude a couple times since I had frequented this location quite often - I finally called to complain about her attitude and ungracious customer service. They had assured me to come back again and were very apologetic for the incident. It happens, so hey I gave it a go a few more times. The cake topper was just so blatantly done I can not return or recommend this location.I placed my order to-go and arrived a couple minutes after my estimated time of pick up. They were busy with a line so I figured I would head to the register to snag my food and then head on out. There were three people working, two at which were at the front and someone working the grill/fryer. Upon getting there I was not acknowledged but I was seen by BOTH front workers. So I patiently waited until they had to ring someone out then I would ask for my order. After not acknowledging me and ringing customers out - within five minutes of me being there a girl had walked in after me to pick up her order as well. After we both were discussing we thought this would be a faster option ‘yada, yada’ we chit chatted and waited some more. They had rang a few more customers out to the point you could not see the line from standing by the coffee/napkin station. They finally decided to ask what we were waiting for as we both said ‘pick ups.’ I said the name and she replied ‘oh yeah I know who that’s for.’ While mistakenly making my bagel wrong with cream cheese - I had to wait for it to be remade. Easy mistake - no big deal I thought. The lady was super polite and popped it on. So the other girl I had been chatting to was rang out and left at this point. I thought to myself okay, won’t be long - i’ll be up next. Bagel with butter - how hard and how long could it take?It wasn’t until they were basically through their line of customers with approximately two to three people left that I had decided to leave! I waited an extra total of over fifteen minutes for my to-go order which was completely wasteful of my time - I’m ashamed I even gave them multiple chances to continued to be treated in a repulsive manner.End. Of. Story. They need better service!
The day that changed my life.June 17. I, a weary traveler, out living the American Dream on the open road of adventure came across the age old problem of lunch at lunchtime. After the rumblies of the tumblies we stumbled across the only food we knew New York was famous for besides pizza, and my Jesus weren’t those stereotypes true?! Just walking in felt warm and welcoming. Amidst the pandemic, the workers were still joyful and brought life and energy to my deep deep dark depressing life. To my sorrow the bagels were almost gone, but alas! Fate brought me and Stevie together. Looking at the menu, bewildered, this true New Yorker had my back. I watched them make the beautiful sandwich that Stevie ordered and I was rebirthed. What some may see as a simple rendition of a turkey panini, I see as Gods way of saying he’s still here with us and that hope isn’t gone. I am forever indebted to Stevie, and in my humble opinion every person on the face of the planet needs to give that guy a hug and petition to put the Stevie Panini on the menu as the featured sandwich every month for all eternity. And as I continue on my nomadic escapade i will always dream about this place, my one true love.

2019-10-06Not worth the money. I ordered a whole wheat bagel with butter and a friend asked for a sesame with lox, cream cheese and onion. The whole wheat had what I can only call a suggestion of butter and the sesame had three thin slices of lox, hardly any cream cheese and just a few slivers of onion. When I mentioned the paltry amount of salmon to the counter person it made no difference .The total for these 2 items was almost $12, with the lox bagel being almost $8.Certainly not coming back. Shame, because its a short drive...

2021-12-31This used to be a favorite of mine as good places to eat are few and far between in Broome County. However, the decline in quality of both service and food have been disappointing. The past few times Ive been the food is subpar and not worth the price whatsoever. Claiming that they needed to reduce hours and stop having employees answer the phones due to staff shortage is absolutely absurd. If you paid your employees better, Im sure you wouldnt have any trouble hiring and retaining staff. Today, after seeing the sign stating that her majesty (I assume they are referring to the governor) requires masks so everyone must be masked indoors I left without buying a thing and they will not receive my business again. Covid is unfortunately not going anywhere and that ignorant attitude towards measures that have been proven to help reduce risk are whats keeping infection rates so high in the area. Without a change in management I will not spend another dollar here.
