At check in we were given a single bed room instead of the deluxe 2 beds we booked. They were out of double rooms and gave us their back up room but pretended it was a regular deluxe double. Wifi password doesnt work, moldy bathroom, bath towels not changed for a 4 day stay (but hey you can do your laundry at no charge), no cleaning (its covid you know, our rates are lower... we just paid 350 a night, such a great deal, and nice to see the lower walk in rates posted behind the desk 😐 thanks Expedia I guess), towels hooks coming of the wall... Will never stay again in this overpriced, poorly maintained, bland residence.
Loved the location. Loved the building. Great neighborhood.Excellent customer service. Only problem is we stayed 8 nights and our unit only had one lounge chair. The photo we saw when we selected the Beekman showed a love seat, where we could have both sat. We requested that either a chair be added or the chair replaced with a love seat. The morning attendant didnt seem to even turn in a request. The afternoon desk attendant made the request (we saw email copy) but we never had comfortable seating for us both, so if you book, you may want to put that in your original booking request. We asked for a higher room with a view when we booked and got a great view. The small kitchen has excellent utensils etc if you want to cook. Appreciated the excellent coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. The upstairs bar is lovely and well worth a visit.
This is very much a residential hotel, so if you are looking for a hotel experience, choose another place to stay. I stayed here for 7 nights. If you think that your room or suite looks like the pictures on the website, think again--not even remotely the same. The Midtown location is very good if you have business at the UN or other Midtown locations, and my 1-BR apt was spotlessly clean when I moved in. And, laundry is free, which is nice. The bad: Even though the hotel has housekeeping every 4 days, my sheets werent changed, and the toilet paper wasnt replaced--I had to buy my own. The free continental breakfast is awful--go buy your breakfast at NY Daily Grill around the corner, or make your own. I like to open my windows (no screens--hello mosquitos), but the smell of cooking bacon and grilled meat from 8:00 pm-1:00 am from a nearby restaurant or 24-hour store made that impossible (I was in 5A2). My heating and AC was crazy--2 thermostats in the apt, and one didnt work at all, and the one in the bedroom started making an alarm like a fire alarm at 12:30 one night, then didnt work at all after that. I actually had heat in the bedroom and AC in the living room for 2 days. I made the front desk aware of these issues, but nothing was done (except to send a surly person to the room to change the batteries in one of the thermostats.) Staying at this hotel felt like a lot of work for the cost of $2100 for the week.
I woke up the first morning of my one week stay to a rat and a mouse running in the room!!! I called the reception three times and asked for someone to come in (as I was packing). 30 minutes later still no one showed up! I spoke to the desk who were dismissive and treated it as “normal don’t make a big deal out of it”!! Totally insulating. The porter and maintenance man showed up at the reception and were professional and helpful but told me that it is not unusual at this hotel to find Mice???!! They helped me take my things down. As I checked out, I was promised management would call me in an hour to discuss charges. I waited all day and no one called. I called and left 3 different messages over the next few days for Sarah the manager. She never had the courtesy to call!!Stay away from this hotel if mice and rats are not your favorite roommates!
I had the pleasure of staying at the Beekman for 7 months with my daughter. I’m giving the Beekman a 5 starts because it’s staff are more than just workers, they are family. These hardworking and dedicated individuals have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, safe and happy. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Beekman again, especially because it’s prime location and as mentioned, amazing hospitality. I’ve only been gone a couple of days, but I definitely miss my wonderful NYC apprtment at the Beekman.
Family of 5 with 3 teenage daughters. 2 Queen beds and a sofa bed. We ended up paying for an additional rollaway just to make sure the girls had there own bed.Bathrooms are small and tight, but living areas are nice and open. Free breakfast is exactly that. Nothing more, nothing less.We stayed here for 5 nights and happened to be there when UN was meeting and plenty of big name politicians, in NYC. Lot of police around and plenty of streets shut down.Location is basically next door to UN and we walked everywhere. 10 minutes to Times Square and 15minutes to start of Central Park.
The rooms are nice, but the management is not that friendly. Front Desk guys are welcoming and hospitable. Don’t expect management to do anything beyond possibly greeting you. Other than that you will get nothing out of them. Very pet friendly just be prepared to pay $250 per pet. Excellent dining in walking distance. Showers are excellent. Would stay again.
Attention please,Before booking you should know that the cleaning service is very bad, I recommend that anyone who wishes to book for a long time should be booked in September and August individually and then complete the reservation with another reservation numberThe hotel policy did not refund the remaining money from the cancellation, which happened to me personally after meeting with the charge of bookings note I am currently living in the room and dissatisfied with cleaning and not recovering my money. Finally, there is no clear price policy, because we booked three friends at a same day and in close hours, but we later discovered that the prices are all different because of multiple nationalities.Good location high price
If you want to get any sleep, don’t stay here. When complained about the noise and not getting any sleep, they did nothing to try and fix the situation. You do not get clean towels daily and no housekeeping daily. They stated coffee would be in the room, when we told the front desk there was none, they said they would bring some and never did. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I would never even consider staying at this place again.
I moved into the Beekman Tower so I could be close to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for treatment. The front desk gentleman are so kind and very helpful! The apartment is clean, comfortable I feel so blessed to be here. Great part of the city and everything easy to get to and find.
If its still open -- well worth a visit. Youve got to try the balcony at their rooftop restaurant. did have minor bedbug issue there but the bites were worth the money saved and they healed up okay. only a few blocks walk to subway and Grand Central - with plenty of dining options on the way for breakfast or dinner. rooms were a little dated, but very large and you cant beat the view and location in NYC for the price.
I like the Beekman tower hotel bar, its an art deco masterpiece. The bar is small and only seats four, and the small terraces are also small, but there are more tables indoors though too.Drinks are on the pricey side, and staff could be quite a bit more pleasant. Its a bit out of the way though, and unless you are staying at the hotel, there really isnt a whole lot of reason to seek this place out, so it remains a quiet little gem that doesnt get the bridge and tunnel crowd.
Clean, modern accommodations. Definitely on the roomy side for NYC! Location is great if youre a diplomat or otherwise involved in international affairs due to the proximity to the UN. If youre looking to go anywhere else, the nearest subway is a half mile away, so bring your walking socks.
So I have been a guest at Beekman since September and will check out by the end of this month. Where do I start?1) I chose this place due to its proximity to the UN2) the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because of Ayman & José who are absolutely amazing - they both deserve a million star rating.3) House keeping is only twice a month (I expected it to be once or twice a week for the rate I am paying) and it’s ok. The house keeping team is nice & friendly.4) my colleagues from another country are paying a lower rate than I am per month, around $4500-5000 per month (we booked in the same time and we all have the same type of room), me and my colleagues staying here are paying between $6700-$7000 per month, and I believe one of them is paying 8k. It’s unethical and appalling and definitely not worth the money for a 3 star “hotel”.5) The management is terrible and full of lies.
Pure scam-most of amenities that advertised are not there...1.There are NO MAILBOXES allocated for tenants-all the mail goes to doormen who supposed to scan it into a system, however doormen tend to be super busy with checking in/out hotel guests and most of the time will scan your mail a week later — they will never let you know if you have mail and tend to get irritated when tenants ask them to check for a mail.2. Laundry room is for hotel maids and not tenants—- YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE to get a washing machine to do your laundry (no matter what day/time -I tried all different times) as there are only 6 small machines for the whole hotel. And the maids are nasty and will throw your wet cloth to the side. Be prepared to send your laundry to cleaners.3. DISHWASHERs, although look updated, are the worst quality ever— they will not wash your dishes and sometimes you have to run twice in order to get dishes somewhat clean.4. Cleaning ladies are using very strong cleaners to clean the hotel rooms- to the point that people are coughing and getting allergic reactions.. but the building management doesn’t care5. Most of the staff speaks Spanish- which makes it difficult if there is a problem or question6. Toxic smells- the gym has such a strong smell of rubber off gas chemicals and no one ever works out there as the smell is so strong-so be prepared to get a gym access outside this building.
Great size in the city! Especially for the price. Full living, dining area and separate bedroom. Little kitchen with full size fridge and little stove, too. Probably about a 20 min walk to Time Square, about the same to the east side of Central Park. RIGHT next to UN. Nice little deli/market and liquor store right across street as well as nail place. Starbucks 2 blks away.I guess Beekman Towers could use a little updating, but I liked it fine. We will stay there again, it may become our regular spot even.
Large apartments, need maintenance to be more pleasant. If you like quieter areas this is ideal. It has a perfect bus stop that takes you straight to 5@ av. There are great markets close by, pharmacies etc... It met my particular needs in the area. But when I entered I found it a little different from the photos. The view from the Lounge (Ophelia) is beautiful. THE EMPLOYEES WERE EXCELLENT, thank you very much (5☆).
I went to New York for the first time last November and my sister made a reservation for this hotel. The room was large and ample.I dont speak English, but I communicate with Google Translate and the rest is atmosphere 😄For Japanese people, the humidity is not enough, so either store water in the dressing room or dry the towels and proceed to sleep 🎵Coffee time in the morning! It was really delicious ~ 😄All-you-can-eat bagels ~ 😄, but I only eat normal 🎵 And! I ate it with cheese cream 🎵For those who missed the morning, I ate peanuts, bananas, oranges on the 27th floor ~ 😄For water, use the machines installed in front of the elevators on each floor to secure water in PET bottles! It was very cold and delicious. If you get a little hungry at night, you can buy snacks, ramen, etc. in the morning and evening at the convenience store opposite 🎵I took a photo with the receptionist on my way home 🎵Cleaning with my uncle (Nate) 🎵I wonder if everyone is fine. I want to see you again.
If you book for three people, you cannot get a twin room. The staff only half-heartedly dealt with this problem, which they apparently knew about. In the end we had no choice but to upgrade to a paid upgrade. Both rooms were not very well maintained and there was some mold on the ceiling. It takes a few minutes to get to the subway station, but the location appealed to me.Nevertheless, based on the points described, I cannot recommend this hotel.
Nice apartment house in the immediate vicinity of the United Nations headquarters. The German Embassy is diagonally opposite, on foot one minute. The reception is staffed 24 hours, WIFI is available throughout the building for free, a janitor is always on duty, all living and sleeping rooms have a large Samsung smart TV, there is a limousine service (Suburban SUV), right at the house bus stop M15, Southferry to East Harlem 125th St. Directly below next door also a small grocery store and ten meters further an ATM self-service bank, in which even German debit cards can be used. For the coffee machine you need round coffee filters, which you get in the small shop around the corner for $ 3.99.
Terrible customer service. Any problem you have you will not be able to solve it as it has happened to us. They also lie in the characteristics of their apartments, they are for 2 people, not 3 people. We have been waiting for a month to solve a question and more than 5 emails and calls from booking without getting any response.

2021-12-10Such a great location, super clean hotel too. Apartment style and extremely spacious! Staff was friendly. Walking distance to Rockefeller and other bakery and groceries nearby. Quiet and safe location. I went with my daughters and my best friend for our girls trip. We had such a great time and will definitely return.

2022-03-06Such a comfortable and peaceful stay. Loved the amenities and the staff was kind and helpful. The kitchenette had all of the tools I needed and it totally felt like home. Location is perfect! You can easily get a cab and all of the restaurants in the area are delicious!

2022-04-01WHAT IS ON TH WEBSITE IS NOT WHAT YOU GETThe pictures on their site are really wonderful, but completely not representative of the rooms at all, at least not our room. The good: The bedrooms and the kitchen are nice and pretty accurate based on the website photos. The Bad:1. The room was not cleaned. Or if they did clean, they did an awful job. There is also no cleaning that will take place while you stay there, including garage removal. We were given a single roll of toilet paper, and when we ran out and realized it, we asked and they couldnt provide one for an hour because it was in some hard to get to location, so we had to nab it from the public bathroom downstairs.2. The living area is awful and not at all like the pictures. They said there is a work desk.. Nope, no work desk. No TV stand (just a repurposed end table they stuck one on, no rug, no coffee table, bare walls, etc. Just a couch, end table, and a TV. I have attached a picture.3. The building is a mix between a property managed air bnb type place, long term rentals and residence. The hallways smelled like smoke and we were greeted every morning by barking dogs.If you dont care about where you stay and you only need a place to sleep, this will do. If your looking for a nice relaxing place to stay, this is not it. But its NYC, and if your doing it right, youll just sleep here.

2022-01-01We are just back in Cork today, having spent 5 nights in NYC.We decided to book an apartment rather than a hotel room, as we had a 16 year old with us, and we needed a bit of room. The apartment itself was good, it had everything we needed, and was in a fantastic central location for everything we needed. What set this place apart, in my mind, was the staff- they could not have been more helpful. They were absolutely fantastic, from helping with subway times to what was good in the 24 deli on the corner. This what another reason for the apartment.........if we came home after a full days shopping or sightseeing, we could grab a takeaway and sit at the table rather than get up and go to a restaurant. Plus with covid, you needed to pre book absolutely everything.

2022-01-14Great location in Midtown, nice to be away from tourist areas but still able to walk to anything you need. Room was spacious and comfortable, very quiet and service was great. Highly recommended.

2022-05-18The Beekman feels like my own in NYC. Major renovations have occurred since we were there 10 years ago and it’s better than before

2021-05-02It was great! There were somethings that needs attention like the cabinets needed to be recovered. Some of the cabinets peel was coming off. The carpet seemed to need a good cleaning. But other than that it was a great place to stay in. The staff was really friendly as well. Except for a lady named Sara, she had a bit of an attitude. The location was great as well. All linen was clean and also the room.

2021-09-02On the plus side: the location is convenient for UN-related work and the reception staff is generally very nice and helpful. I really wouldn’t recommend this place for long term stays though. The rooms have seen (much) better days and look used, the street noise is very loud.

2021-09-06Location was good but otherwise unhappy for the price. It was kind of gross to walk barefoot, as the floors were sticky. The bathroom showerhead was a leaking mess, mold all around the tub area and when you showered you stood in inches of water in the tub. The first shower, I stood in brown water. The hallways and building interior are old and worn.
