The Bernic Hotel New York City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in New York
Location convenient to Midtown - St. Patricks, Grand Central Station, south end of Central Park. This would generally be a quiet location but there was major construction next door (as of this writing). Its a basic, modern, small place - minimal lobby, elevators, and thats about it. Front desk staff were helpful. Bathroom had tile, heated floor & fluffy towels. Room had a small fridge and a safe. A balcony allowed a bit of fresh air. Walls were thin so we experienced noise from guests in the next room.
This a great boutique hotel in the heart of NYC! Has a very sleek lobby and GREAT staff! Walking distance to Grand Central, Time Square and Top of the Rock! Clean and aesthetically decorated rooms - perfect for staying in the city. Not too big or small. Felt cleaner due to the laminate flooring - no gross carpet! Our room had a coffee maker, mini fridge, iron, blow dryer and safe. You get full sized shampoo, conditioner AND body wash in the VERY roomy walk in shower that comes with dual shower heads! Super comfortable bed and pillows - I loved the pillows so much I took a picture of the label so I can get one of my own! Probably the best rooms I have stayed in honestly. Felt right at home - would stay there again!
Its a boutique hotel. The pictures in the various Websites doesnt reflect at all what is reality. The room is small & the counter space in the bathroom is very small as well. The reception, Brittany, went beyond the call of duty to ensure that our stay was as good as it can be.
E moved hotels from the original one to this one. It has been a disappointment since we arrived. I called to make sure there was still breakfast before moving. They told me yes, when arriving there was no more breakfast (less than 10 hours from booking) the staff in the elevator was yelling about there being only 3 people per elevator but he was not wearing a mask, when I said something he continues to yell. there are no bathrobes and when I asked for one the lady at the desk said they do not provide them anymore because they are not cost effective for the hotel during Covid. We are paying the same price for little to no amenities. No breakfast, no robes, no Apple TV, the room remote does not work. All things that are currently listed as available on the website. If you don’t have breakfast put it on the note that says you have no breakfast or limited amenities. Also breakfast is included as diamond. The lady tells me it isn’t. When I showed her on the site she said oh that must be new. I should not be schooling employees on what they should know. This hotel has been a christmas disaster.
The room was small but from what I can tell that is standard for Midtown. The staff was amazing, Brittney was always smiling and willing to take time to make sure we had what we needed, including subway navigation. The room was really nice and up to date, the bathroom was especially great, even had a heated floor. There was construction going on at the neighboring building but it wasnt a big deal, just took away from the view. We were able to walk to Times Square, Central Park, Top of the Rock, Radio City Music Hall, Grand Central Terminal, The Diamond District, Shopping on 5th Ave, The Met and many more places. I would definitely stay here again!
Overall great experience, the hotel was exceptionally clean and has tasteful yet fun Halloween decor. Upon check-in, was greeted by Darlene who was warm, professional, and went out of her way to ensure a seamless night. She took it upon herself to upgrade the room for more space given how many bags we had, which was very much appreciated.
The staff here are the absolute BEST!! Britney, Sharon, and Allie r the sweetest and most accommodating staff I have ever been fortunate enough to meet! They always have a smile and ready to help! I recommend EVERYONE come here! The rooms and balconies are amazing and luxurious!! Absolutely 5 stars!!
Very nice, clean, quiet room with comfortable bed. The only issue I had is that if you are here for business and need to work in the room, the lack of a desk is a bit of a problem. They do have a moveable table that you can move next to the bed but it is small and its not very comfortable. Hotel is very close to a number of good places to eat so is very convenient.
Positive: Its located near Rockerfeller Center. The balconies allow you to step out for a breath of fresh air without actually going outside of hotel. Staff is always accomodating and pleasant. Ive also recommended the Bernic to family and friends Negative: I miss the bathrobes that use to be in room upon arrival. Also would like a choice of a microwave instead of a coffee machine.
My daughter and I traveled for leisure and had a very good stay. The staff was friendly and informative. The common area and room were very clean. I especially appreciated that the remote control was in a plastic cover indicating it was sanitized. The bed was comfortable. Be prepared that the room is tight in terms of space. The bathroom does not have any counter space. I think the floors were heated which we loved! We recommend this hotel. The location was good in that you could walk to Grand Central Station.
Great location but unfortunately, management does not enforce the no smoking policy. Guests don’t face any repercussions for smoking in their rooms, despite hotel rules and guidelines. As such, you’ll be subjected to inhaling smoke or forced to relocate to a different room, as this property has a no-knock policy. There were also bugs in the room when first checking in which staff had to come remove. Would not recommend!
I had a very nice stay at Bernic. This was my first time here, and I came for a 2-night stay just to get away from my apartment. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend.Pros: comfortable bed, incredible location, good on-site restaurant, free Showtime, great value for the priceCons: the towels werent very soft; the step out balcony is (expectedly) very narrow and should be labeled as a Juliette balcony, and was a little dirty; there isnt much space between the toilet, wall and vanity, so larger bodies wont be very comfortable.
Overall liked the hotel location and the room looked nice on the surface. Unfortunately, we discovered blood stained sheets which is unacceptable cleanliness standard, given the pandemic. Also, hotel didnt offer breakfast so I couldnt use the Hilton credit and had to settle for 1000 points which isnt equivalent to a free meal
Fell asleep gazing at the chrysler Building... Really nice room, Hilton as always upgraded me as i am diamond HH member, where possible i always use Hilton as they truly reward that loyalty. Hotel is perfectly located close to the E for JFK and Grand Central. Very reasonably priced for manhattan. Thanks hilton again
Other than extremely long wait times for valet....a good visit and well definitely return for a higher floor experience..Brittney at the Front desk was Pricless!!Her kindness and help are whats always needed when wanting a romantic getaway..(our 2nd only since the pandemic began)...
Very disappointing stay at Hotel Bernic. From arrival to the day we left we had terrible experiences at the restaurant/bar. Even the staff knows how terrible the service and food is but apparently they’re locked into a contract? Hotel was lackluster and room was depressing. Never again .
The hotel was fine and the staff was friendly and helpful. The problem was that there was construction on our side of the hotel and the noise started early. And.our phone rang a few times at 5 am. We suspect it was a misdialed wakeup call, but no way to know. Wed come back on another trip if the construction was finished or if we were guaranteed a room on the other side of the building.
Prime location with very clean roomsHowever the HVAC unit in the room was broken and made very loud noises. Had to turn it off just to get some rest. Also construction is being done so it was very loud early in the morning as well as VERY strong gas smell coming from site. The balcony doors didnt close well even when locked so the smell came in very easy. Also my view from the balcony was of the construction site.
Great location and professional service. Tiny, clever rooms that have seen better days; walls/fixtures/Ikea-ish furniture have taken a beating, ditto the lovely bathrooms with heated floors and dual-action showers. Comfortable bed with decent linens. Not as many Nespresso pods laid out (3, used to be 6) as before & espresso demitasses/saucers have been replaced by paper cups - a fairly recent change, as they were there at the height of covid, ~1y ago. 😢☕ No more robes, towels have gone downhill. Wonky HVAC.Just a handful of rooms per floor so relatively quiet in my experience. Many/most have small balconies. Id definitely recommend pulling for a front-side room as its not on a terribly loud street and the backside of the hotel is simply dumpy. Only 2 elevators but I dont recall any issues on multiple visits, on the contrary, perhaps. No lobby to speak of and not child friendly, imho
Hotel was okay, definitely a downgrade for the Hilton. Its good for a short stay without children. People are smoking more than cigarettes at this hotel. In addition, mask are not being enforced. I seen one person checking in without a mask and another on the elevator. Young people work here, no security or cameras. Its a party hotel, people come to have sex, drink, smoke, and enjoy a short stay. Lets not forget construction right outside your window. Be mindful when booking, you pay for what you get. Also if you want any privacy book deluxe room, its not a king bed but at least you get privacy. Bring your own chair if you want to sit on the balcony. Also very limited with towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo. Make sure you bring your own.
The hotel was okay. The rooms are spacious, but the particular room I was in, smelled of mildew. The smell in the shower was unbearable. I understand they may have less maintenance staff due to the pandemic but the cleanliness of the rooms being checked into, is important.
I wish I could rate better as I’m a gold member but honestly it was just the location that was great. The room was clean, the bedding had runs, the AC barely worked (if you close the curtain-which you have to do otherwise you’re staring into someone’s apartment), the toilet paper holder was loose, balcony with no seating….
Great hotel for a reasonable price. Staff were all very nice and were accommodating. The room was way larger than we expected too, as was the bed. The heated shower room floor was a nice touch. The location was good too, only a few minutes walk to grand central where you can get to any part of the city.
Excellent staff. Nice clean room, excellent bedding! The balconies are a great commodity. The arrangement with the restaurant for breakfast was a challenge. Being a lifetime diamond I was supposed to get free breakfast. But wasnt allowed to order from the menu, only a small continental breakfast. And the guy was not very nice about it. However the front desk staff said they would inter vein of it happened again. So Im not going to complain. Also the hotel give passes to the NY racquet club.
So I must say I was a tad bit displeased at first because check in is at 4 pm yet our room wasn’t ready until 4:40 pm which was pretty annoying. However, I will say that the staff more than made up for that. As a token for our patience they provided us with breakfast vouchers and a bottle of Prosecco brought to our room. They were nice touches for having to wait 40 minutes past check in, so only one star off for that. The room was great, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great, the hotel location was great, and the balcony was cute. Despite the fact that we didn’t check in quite on time, I would still stay here again. The staff more then made up for it, and they were very attentive.
Oh my where do I begin.......The front desk staff were great on check in and check out. I had Andre (excuse me if I mess up the spelling of names) check me in and he upgraded me to a king room. That room did not meet expectations due to housekeeping issues. I said I would gladly accept my original reservation of a queen room.Maintenance and housekeeping is why 3 stars were lost on this review. They are the unseen and soul of a hotel. They take care of the room and are the people the front desk relies on to keep guests happy. The front desk staff take the blame from a guest if something in the room is wrong because they are the ones guests interact with. The toilet paper holder was off (crooked) and it seems like the floors just attract dust and hair (think laminate type flooring.)The towels were terrible. I understand they are a level above standard towels but whoever does the laundering of the towels need to try again. In both room I was in the towels ruined the experience. Long hair and dirty stains is not what one expects on something that will touch your face/bodyThe furniture could also use a refresh. The bed frame in the first room showed a lot of wear and tear. As a previous reviewer mentioned...like beat up Ikea furniture.Room size didnt effect me since I was not on an extended stay and I was solo. I would say the room is of average size for NYC.The bathroom had a heated floor and that was a nice touch. The sink was slow to drain unfortunately. I should travel with drain cleaner just so water drains when I wash my hands. It seems like an issue at many hotels. The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean and soft. No visible tears or stains anywhere there. Pillows were good also. I woke up before my alarm refreshed.I personally wouldnt stay at this hotel again. I wanted to give it a try to see how it was compared to the Conrad and found it lacking compared to that hotel.Enjoy some photos! (I may be one of the weird ones...but the photos were taken right before I checked out. I just cant wake up and not make a bed or do some quick cleaning.)
Highly recommend. Staff is very friendly. Nice Location with restaurants, bars, subways all within quick walking distance. Hotel rooms are aizesble compared to other hotels in New York City. Only downside is elevators take a little long if packed. Joe the GM is incredibly nice. Front desk Ali and Lisa were very accommodating. Hotel gets packed frequently as for its convenience. And cleanliness. Staff does everything to make you have the best stay possible. Highly recommend
A pleasant stay in a hotel with very well appointed bedrooms. Overall the hotel has great bedrooms and a small but adequate food & beverage offering. The bedrooms are clean, well designed and equipped with all modern tech requirements. The addition of an Apple TV in each room is an nice addition. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is a very nice touch. The bed was extremely comfortable. Perfect for a lone traveller and very good for a couple. The location is very handy too.
The staff and the location of this hotel are fantastic. The rooms are cozy but I wouldn’t call them small compared to other rooms in the midtown area. The staff was very helpful and polite. They always took the time to greet me and my family and ask how our stay was. I will be staying at this hotel again in the future.
Very nice, relatively new hotel - Clean, rooms, have floors not carpeting and bathrooms have heated floors - Since only been open a couple of months did have some glitches, but were resolved without a fight. The attached restaurant is very nice, and the continental breakfast for $13 or with if you have a coupon is also very nice. Decent location even if you are going to the theater - maybe a 15 minute walk. 10 minutes at most to Grand Central. All rooms have a balcony which is fun. We are in NYC frequently and would return to this hotel.
Location is great, staff was friendly. Room was as described. Things I didn’t like were there is no water or ice machine and they charge $3 for a box of water. I expect city noise which is fine, but every morning around 7am doors start slamming extremely loud right outside the door waking me up every 15 minutes which I believe to be staff coming in and out of a staff only door. Heated tiles in the bathroom did not work. AC never cooked past a certain temp even after adjusting up and down. Not major issues but enough to be irritating. Compared to other hotels in the area for around the same price I am less likely to stay here again.
Great hotel - seems to be brand new! Was upgraded to a room with a balcony - loved it! Sat out on the balcony and hammered through email on a very nice evening. Didnt use them, but the reading lights on the headboard is a nice touch. Fell in love with the heated floor in the bathroom! The room had an espresso machine instead of a coffee maker (only drawback for me, as Im not an espresso guy).
The hotel was small, only a few rooms per floor and the rooms are tight but this is NYC not Scranton PA. Very clean everywhere, great bathroom and decor. The bathrooms even have heated tile. Overall we had a great experience. Keep in mind if you are driving in there is no residential parking in this area youll need to take public transportation here or pay $70+ per night to park. I would definitely stay here again.
Perfect for single traveller or couple. Terrific staff. I liked the modern design look and layout. Super comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom is large enough, shower good for tall people, & Beekman products are great. I want a nespresso machine now! Go for the balcony and city view if available. Walk to shopping, museums, restaurant options, even in Covid time, plenty are open.
Incredible, hip hotel with an amazing staff. Rooms are large and well-appointed. Close to everything, but easy to get to. Front desk staff (particularly Ali) was very helpful and went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. No fitness center, but you can get a free pass to a nearby gym.
My rate is 3.5. The hotel seem to be fine, very clean, staff is friendly, service is good. But, continuous works on the area and street noises doesnt allow me to give full 4 stars. Complimentary espresso machine is nice but good and affordable breakfast options something they have to work on.. overall, our trip was very nice even though we were having our breakfasts on other places.
Had been at the Bernic before many times starting 2 years ago. Just taken over by Hilton and hope that it will not affect the price point for what the hotel is. But an interesting observation is they did not have a luggage cart when we checked in. In the old days they used to. The rooms are small, but well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I have stayed at The Bernic for business on a few occasions. The rooms are on the smaller side, but updated and laid out well. I love the balcony option. Only complaint Ive had was the radiant floor heating in the bathroom was not working in room 504 the last stay in Feb 2020.
Honestly, 3 stars only cuz you can’t do 2.5. Good only if you plan to spend one or two nights in NYC, mostly outside of the hotel. We booked for 2 nights and seriously considered switching hotels. Very small rooms, and the toilet kept going off (seems every time someone flushed) every 5 mins. What made me round up to 3 is their heating bathroom floors. But then you don’t sleep in the bathroom 💁🏼♀️
This is a top 3 hotel for me in New York. But I like the Boutique style hotel with a small but friendly staff. I have stayed here numerous times but not since Hilton took over running the place. One thing to note- no mini bar. A hotel of this caliber needs an eclectic mini bar. Would complement the Apple TV in every room and the nespresso machine nicely.
The staff is very friendly, and there are a few notable things about the accomodations--namely the comfort of the bed and the heated tiles on the bathroom floor. Cons include narrow hallways often occupied by room service carts, and the view from the back balconies (which is nothing to write home about). Based on the great rate we found and a complimentary upgrade, this was still good value for money.
The room itself was comfy. I booked a high floor with balcony and was given a 2nd floor with a door that opened about a foot to a “balcony”. When I arrived to my room , after realizing that it looked nothing like the photo or description, I found a welcome letter addressed to a name that wasn’t mine. The went down to the front desk and addressed the situation. One person snickered out loud and the other just said “oops, wrong room” and told me to enjoy the candy anyway. The room was good, the restaurant attached to the hotel was absolutely fantastic, the staff needed to be fired. This was a year ago so hopefully they are gone. Marriott from now on!!
Considering the (very reasonable) cost, this hotel exceeded my expectations. The location cant be beat - just a couple blocks from Grand Central and a multitude of restaurants within walking distance. The room was modern, the bathroom had heated floors, and there were even some extras like a robe, an espresso machine, and HBO and Showtime streaming. There was a fridge but no microwave. As a Hilton Honors gold member, I received 2 breakfast vouchers redeemable for 2 continental breakfasts, or a la carte items up to $15 each. My husband got the veggie skillet, and I got the oatmeal with fresh fruit which we both enjoyed. We were running late the next day and (though I felt terrible), I had to extend our checkout several times, which the front desk was happy to accommodate. We will definitely be staying here again.
I stayed here a few weeks ago and overall had a pleasant experience, hotel staff were great at all hours of the day/night ! The only issue I had was that I booked the deluxe queen with a balcony, I would have liked to know that these specific rooms face the BACK of the building, which in my opinion, defeats the purpose of a balcony since you’re facing the back of another building and below you is trash. The room was clean, rather small but had everything I needed. Stored my bags the next day after check out until I was departing the city. Overall, I would stay here again but definitely would be interested in a front facing room with a balcony! Bonus - the three parks you get! Who doesn’t love Starbucks and Uber credit !
Stay anywhere else.Theres just no reason to stay here. The rooms have a depressing view and they are microscopic in size. Dont be fooled by any beautiful photos online. Your balcony will most likely be overlooking the dumpster alley beside the hotel or the closed curtains of the hundreds of windows from the gigantic brick apartments shadowing your balcony. Lots of construction going on around the hotel as well, so if the constant dumpster noise, or the waiters on smoke break dont wake you up, the jackhammers will.Every towel and washcloth we were given was ripped or had holes in them. Our sheets also had holes in them. The complimentary robe hanging in our closet looked like it had been worn and washed 1,000 times. Also note theres no sign from the sidewalk, so actually finding the front door is an adventure upon arrival. We couldnt wait to leave.
Loved my stay at this hotel. It was my first time visiting New york with my girlfriend. Its a walking distance from attractions like times square and situated in a subtle area without any traffic disruptions. Service was lovely and so was the room considering the price point. Highly recommended!!
Out of all the hiltons I stayed in NYC..I have to say this one my absolute favorite one. The balconies give it a nice touch and the espresso machine also. The shower heated floor is one of a kind, all the amenities like the shampoos are also amazing. If I ever come back to NYC I will definitely only stay at This property. Big thank you to the front desk. 👏
The room was way too small to really get comfortable, it felt more like a dorm. It was very modern and clean, which helped bring up this review. But the bathroom and the balcony were the main reason for 4 stars. Even though there wasnt much of a view, it was nice to have. Dont think Ill visit again, even though the experience was pleasant. Cold air coming underneath the balcony door wasnt fun during my visit in the winter.
The customer service is horrible, If you ever have issues getting to NYC or the hotel and cant make it dont expect them to give your money back because they wont. Oh and dont ever ship any packages to their hotel, theyll lie and tell you your package never arrived only for it to get lost and your business loses inventory! I made a dispute to get my money back and they gave me provisional credits that I NEVER received and now finally after 2 months, theyre taking over $500 out of my bank account on the first. I will be going to small claims court and getting authorities involved once I arrive in NYC next month so I can get my money back. The hotel itself is nice but the employees dont know what theyre doing and the Manager is super SNOBBY. All she cares about is the money and not how the customer feels. No wonder why they shut the hotel down in the first place and had to reopen with a new name and look. Pathetic, I would never stay here again. If you want to find a nice hotel that cares about their customers, seek Hotel 32 32! Theyre the best.
Amazing location, friendly staff and free wifi! You cant beat that, PLUS heated floors in the bathroom and amazing city views from the balcony. I really enjoyed my stay at the Bernic and it was super easy to get around because of the location. Will definitely stay here again!
I had an amazing stay at The Bernic hotel, King corner suite. The room featured two Apple TVs, two balconies, heated Mosiac floors in the bathroom, and complimentary Nespresso maker. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I look forward to going back!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Bernic. Although it has the smallest rooms I have ever seen at a Hilton property, here are the things that set it apart: Italian Champagne upon checkin, Heated bathroom floors, Breakfast is open until 11a, balcony for every room, cardboard boxed water and aromatherapy on the nightstand for a restful night of sleep.
The Bernic is an okay hotel for NYC, especially considering the moderate pricing. However, the lower score is due to our bed, which left both my wife and I with sore backs. Room 903 has a mattress that is just too soft and left us in considerable pain. The Tapestry designation for the Bernic is Hilton’s rebranding of certain hotels as “boutique.” However, the “boutique” definition in this case means IKEA cheap, as if a cool college kid designed a dorm room. This is our second “Tapestry” hotel; spare, fake wood, streamlined, and modular. However, luxury is no where to be found. It’s only cool if you don’t know better. That being said, for two nights we saved over $1000 not staying at the Conrad. The room was larger than most NYC hotel rooms. AC worked well, room service was available, the bathroom was great and the shower simply marvelous. The neighborhood also has more restaurants, bars and clubs than ever in its past. I would stay at the Bernic again, but the memory of the pain caused by that evil mattress remains. Thus, a repeat visit will require amnesia,
Unless they make some changes, I wont be revisiting this hotel. Heres why: the staff is wonderful, the place is extremely clean but they miss on some very important details that make sleeping - in the room that I occupied at least - pretty unpleasant. The sheets were apparently the wrong size and instantly exposed the mattress pad. There are two bright blue LED lights marking the location of the bedside light switches, which LED are in your eyes all night. Easy enough to block with a few pieces of paper. You can get past those two minor issues but the coup de grace was the HVAC system. In my room, the HVAC unit was right next to the bed, about three feet away. They have a permanently mounted air deflector on the unit which, yes it keeps the curtains from moving, but the deflector causes extremely cold (or very hot) air to blow, quite hard, right on you in bed. So, you can either freeze or roast, in rapid cycles. It was a very unpleasant night. Again, nice people, clean place - but they need to rethink some important details.
Me and my husband stayed at the Bernic last November. The hotel is very close to a lot of the popular places like the Rockefeller Center and Time Square. The concierge Xavier did an amazing job providing us with every single thing we needed to have an awesome anniversary weekend ! He really went the extra mile , I hope they could have service like that in every hotel ! The room was clean and very quit
Good location, nice front desk staff but everything else was awful. As a Hilton Rewards member who comes to Manhattan almost weekly I decided to give this hotel a try as I like checking out different Hilton properties. The location is nice, the front desk staff was friendly but after that everything was awful, the shower door didn’t seal so anytime I took a shower the bathroom foot was covered in water, I ordered room service in the morning and they didn’t deliver syrup with the pancakes and had to remake half the order after not paying attention to our request, the beds were atrociously uncomfortable, and incredibly loud...like REALLY loud. It’s NYC, I expect to hear some city ambience but I could hear everything in the room next door, everything in the hallway, and despite being six floors up could hear full conversations outside.
Quiet, staff is amazing ,and very attractive.Because if covid they have to follow guidelines so the bar is closed but thats almost everywhere and the rooftop is closed but thats almost everywhere their rooms are extremely clean they take care of all your needs and I must say they are extremely professional
Wont stay there again. What they call a balcony is a 20 cm wide space? What they call a superior room has cracks in the ceiling, calcium in the shower? The room was also *very* loud — an AC unit playing its melody all night long.. Did I mention this was supposed to be a calm room? Did I also mention that a cleaning cart stations in the narrow hallway (literally never moves), making rolling a suitcase there next to impossible, and that there were also empty card boxes in the hallway. At 300 bucks a night, that sounds like a bad joke.
I would never return. First off, the room is rather small, but given the location, it is within the reasonable range. However, as a “boutique” hotel, they should really work on presenting the details:1. The window does not close tight enough to block the noise from street. At 1pm I still struggled to sleep because of the noises.2. The blue led indicator light on the bedside lamp shines right in your eyes in bed, and is impossible to ignore in a dark room.3. The bed sheets have holes in them. Needless to say more.4. The presentation of shower gels and coffee pods are in disarray. Come on, try spending one more second on making them neater.5. Only one bottle of complimentary water is given. I understand that the fancy electrolyte water could be expensive, but some regular bottled water would be greatly appreciated.Overall, I expected more from this location at nearly 400 dollars per night. Such a bummer to an otherwise perfect NYC trip.
A solid choice for a New York Hotel - by price, comfort, value, location and most of all, staff. They have access to a gym, Nespresso in the rooms, and some incredibly accommodating staff. Hats go off to Yolette and Selina at the front. Thank you Bernic for a great stay
The Bernic Hotel is a beautiful, modern and extremely comfortable boutique hotel. The amenities offered are quite nice as well, the majority of their rooms have a balcony, free wifi, in room nesspresso machine, the most comfortable beds on the planet, lovely rain shower heads with heated bathroom floors. It is also so centrally located that there is certainly no shortage of things to do, from visiting the local environs of turtle bay to see things like the Dag Hammarskjold park, the United Nations H.Q. to just walking by the east river. Furthermore it is quite easily in walking distance to Times Square, Grand Central Station and Central Park. I must admit one of my favorite things to do is walk to the Roosevelt Island Tramway and take the cable car across the east river to the island in spring and have a peaceful walk among the Cherry Blossoms. There is also a number of little neighborhood secrets that are amazing, from a gem of a park with a waterfall to a bakery with legit french patisserie who studied in Paris. The amazing diversity of culture and interesting things to discover may surprise you! Enjoy!
Nice boutique hotel in the heart of the city, lots of places to eat and pharmacies around. Customer service was great check in was fast and checkout was a click of my app.the room is a bit small ,but it does the trick.i stayed for 1 night only so it was perfect for me. Would stay again...Check my vlog ABoricuaLifeinUSA at YouTube.com!
The Room came with no microwave you had to get bags of ice from the front desk and the refrigerator didn’t have a freezer so the ice just melts theirs no tub just a shower The Balcony was Frozen with snow so you couldn’t enjoy the balcony People were throwing trash from their balconies Also, The customer service was horrible the two front desk workers jenni and ally(I learned their Nick names from Sharon the hotel manager) I called the front desk and they were rude wouldn’t stay their again HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND

2022-06-30This is a very decent business-oriented boutique hotel- I really like the compact front desk & hallway and the minimalist aesthetics. Room of course is the New York small but is very clean. The accompanied restaurant is also compact but nice. I know this is probably not the properties’ fault but after Hilton changes the way Diamond members get food credit the credit here couldn’t even cover a basic breakfast, which is disappointing. The wifi needs some work as well.

2022-02-23My best friend and I visited the hotel after a night in the city. We were greeted by Sharon who was extremely kind and welcoming. Sharon went above and beyond to accommodate our girls night out.The hotel was clean, everyone who works in the hotel is super kind. It’s pretty quiet for a hotel in the city. We had a peaceful nights sleep. We had also had the pleasure of meeting Daniel, who was extremely kind, patient and funny. The best hotel stay I have ever had. They treated us like family. Our small getaway was everything we wanted it to be. Thank you to everyone who works at the Bernic !!!! With Love from Priscilla and Rosa ♥️

2022-02-14Second time In New York for my husbands music tour. The first visit was to a Hilton sister hotel two blocks down but after checking in here I don’t understand why I haven’t stayed here before. First, Britney the receptionist greeted us in such a loving way! The process was so easy and fast! Then she gave us our room key to a stunning king room. We were WOWED! So spacious and beautiful. Her service was beyond measure! This was beyond our expectations. I was nervous after reading a few reviews online about The Bernic but honestly it’s been one of the best places I’ve stayed in nationwide. I will definitely be staying here every-time we visit New York and I hope to always be greeted by Britney! She is awesome!

2022-01-01The staff was awesome and very accommodating. They followed Covid protocols strictly which was comforting. We had a room with a balcony and that was neat. Not much of a view from the 14th floor, but it was nice to hear the sounds of the city and get some fresh air. We had a king room and it was very clean if not a bit small, but thats expected from a hotel in NYC. We would stay here again if we had something to do in the area.

2022-02-23Great staff. Nice location. Wish I had a better view from our balcony but there are so many buildings in NYC what can you do. May have just been our room but there wasnt any information in our room for services in the hotel.

2022-01-11We were met by two friendly staff members at the desk. The check-in was efficient. They had a car valet which I was worried at first, but they were also quick and careful with our car. The room we stayed in was small, but it had a balcony and heated bathroom floors. Def would stay here again.

2021-12-10I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times for business. Always clean, staff is friendly. Small rooms - typical for NY - but nice bathrooms and showers. No carpet which is always a plus. It’s small and boutique so no large atrium or lobby but sometimes that’s a nice change. Quiet at night. The restaurant off lobby - Allora - is pricey - again typical for NY - but good food, welcoming staff and cozy atmosphere.

2022-01-18As a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, I was very disappointed. There isnt a valet for parking. You need to find your own parking at one the nearby garages. The room are not quiet at all. Outside noise will wake you up early in the morning. Tiny restaurant/bar that not worth going into. We had water coming up from the floor in our room that we had to wipe up with towels every so often. Not worth the money.

2022-07-05Wonderful place to stay and in a very nice location for quick travel all over NYC. The staff took care of me and exceeded all expectations of the stay and went above and beyond to make sure we had a very pleasant experience. Will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

2021-12-29Great location. Nice and modern rooms. Good size shower! The balcony is very tiny but thats to be expected for a city hotel. Brittany checked us in and she was very helpful.
