Would not recommend. Very unprofessional and extremely rude. They are money hungry and will rip you off. Very bad overall experience. I get stores have rules, but they need to tell you them. They hope you don’t read the fine writing. That is very sneaky. I returned their equipment which can and will be used on other parties. They NEVER told me I needed to return the next day. If they would of told me I needed to return the next day I absolutely would not have agreed to that. My deposit should of been given back. Seriously next day return regardless is obnoxious. Tell your customers and be honest!! I am not the first that has had this problem that posted and I am sure there were many more ppl that just didn’t give a review. It’s all good. Be aware. Have fun with your $50, you just lost a lot more than that!!!!!!Good point!!!More the reason to give the deposit back, being it was a school event!! I am on the PTA and do this for the kids to raise money for special programs. You basically took $50 from an elementary school.
Although I wrote my review on Yelp, I still want to recognize this place for the excellent and professional service I received when planning my daughter’s baby shower. My daughter and I we’re extremely satisfied and happy with the decorations and attention to detail the staff gave us.Do not listen to a few negative reviews, instead, see for yourself like I did. Small, friendly, cozy, family owned party store recommended by a friend to place my daughters heels in a balloon for her sweet 16 ceremony. Very unique inexpensive idea. I skipped other retailers and purchased more items here since they were African American owned. Will def return and recommend although tho there about 20 miles away from me.
Recently had a very unpleasant experience with the staff here, I made an honest mistake and they were so rude and unwilling to help. My baby was sick and I had to take her to the hospital and all they cared about was making me pay MORE money. They had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to re-order everything as if I wanted to give them any more of my cash. I was so happy with them last year, the gentlemen that works there is really understanding, i had a similar mishap for my baby shower last year and he was extremely accomdating. They did a total 180 from my previous experience, I wouldnt recommend them to anyone after my experience this past week. The staff needs a major attitude adjustment.
I have used the Brat Shack for my parties for the last 6 years and highly recommend. It is family owned and operated, has great customer service, unique decorations and they always go above and beyond expectations. They threw in freebies with all my orders and for a small fee they set up the decorations at my party. With the Brat Shack, I could relax because they take care of everything ♡
Wonderful. Living n Baldwin for 21 yrs and didnt know it was there. Passed by it sooo many times and never noticed it. Ran n2 a woman n the liquor store who said shes been using Brat Shack for 15 yrs. Liquor store owner over heard us talking and inquired stating customers has asked him if he knew of a party store. Had everything I needed plus more. Highly recommended. Going back 2morrow and will get cards 4 liquor store owner. I should get a discount...right?? :)

THIS PEOPLE ARE STEALING MONEY by performing lack of communication. I rented a chair for my babyshower and nobody told I was supposed to returned the next day otherwise I would loss my refund, so when I came to drop it off they didnt gave me the refund in my card and I explained her that nobody told me when to returned or that they were able to go and pick it up at my house. To provide good services to your customers the key is communication. Ask questions if your planning on renting anything from this places !!
Weve been coming here for party supply rentals for years. They are great. Very helpful and friendly and they do delivery 2hich is the best part!

The Brat Schack is awesome!!!!! they did balloons, favors and candelabra for my daughters sweet sixteen in Oceanside two weeks ago they were on point. Everything was done perfectly, delivered timely and affordable I would DEFINITELY recommend them for any event!

My go-to place for my party planning needs. I rented a chair for my baby shower and it was done beautifully. They also made a beautiful cake topper for my sons baptism. They have hard to find favor and capia items as well. Excellent customer service and always willing to give advice when you want to DIY.

By far the worse costumer service I’ve ever experienced. How ironic that the only glowing rating before was written by the owner of this crappy place. The guy is not all that bad but his nasty wife has no business dealing with the public. She is a filthy dirty mouth sub-human that should not even be working in the back. Keep her in the basement. That’s where she belongs. This place should be called the CRAP Shack.

2021-10-17The cusrom chocolates were the finishing touch to a perfect night. AND they were assorted authentic Hershey Minis so there was something for everyone. No offense brand here! My Aunties 80th birthday became a night to remember. The chocolates with custom wrappers were a PERFECT favor for our Iconic Victorias Chanel themed milestone party. Thank you! They arrived on time and in great shape!I might no longer be in on Long Island (JUST moved) but iI always know whos the BEST when it comes to making a celebration shine!Big Georgia love to The Brat Shack!xoxo💋💋💋

The Brat Shack have everything you need, and if you dont see it tell them want it is that you want and they will make it. I also love that I can support a black owned business.

2022-05-15HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL still in shock by the ghetto and ratchet interaction I encountered with this business yesterday. Literally had a screaming match with this supposedly business because of childish behavior from an “employee” There’s no way possible these 5 star reviews are real unless they personally asked for them or paid for them to say these things. Not sure who’s the owner of this place called a “business” however the mom enables her very disrespectful daughter to say and react to customers any sort of way and then justifies her disrespect and the mother herself, which seemed like an ok lady just does whatever the daughter tells her to do. It’s extremely sad and due to a minor miscommunication on their contract their true colors were shown. We ordered 30 chairs for my nephews party and ended up with a canceled order because this business doesn’t understand basic customer service interaction. Sadly it wasn’t until reaching back to my destination that I was told about the history of the horrible attitudes these women have. This was a first time, last minute order due to my usual lady being out of town but never again and I will never recommend this “business” to anyone. Luckily my nephews party was a great success and the horrible experience at this shop with the rental chairs did not stop the show! & please do not classify yourself as a black owned business this is a flat out ratchet owned business.

2021-12-19I am truly disappointed in The Brat Shack! I have used them twice before and after the most recent rental request my order was canceled and the money returned to me without notice, the day before my event. (Side note- there’s an awesome rental place in Queens that charges less for delivery and they are open longer also willing to do business immediately!)There is no respect for customer, whether new or returning. Trying to support B.O.B. but once again disappointed. (Tip to future business owners- send email or separate link for security deposits if it will disqualify prior purchases. List all consequences for lack of security. And lastly and most importantly COMMUNICATE among your workers so that mistakes are avoided.)

2021-07-03I’m so happy, and phenomenal service! Travel from out of state. I was very satisfied with the customer service. The owners were very helpful and their staff goes over and beyond to help their customers. A Phenomenal customer service especially since my event is in two weeks. Everything you need for an event is right there, the price is very reasonable. Trust and believe that I will be a returning customer. I can’t wait for my big day!

2021-06-28I ordered personalized ribbons online from this shop. When I called to inquire about the status of my purchase, the person who answered the phone was so helpful and kind. I picked up my order in person, and I again received good customer service and expedient service. Will do business again!

2021-05-25Very unprofessional. We rented tables and chairs and had a party on a Saturday. We paid them to come pick them up the next day since the party was at someone’s backyard, we wanted to make sure his place was clean the next day. They never showed up. We called and no answer. Monday same thing. The owner of the house asked us when was the pick up and we assured it was the next day since we paid for the services. They showed up on Tuesday, 2 days later. Nobody called and and say that they would be a delay for the pick up. Plus they still kept the money that we paid for it. So on Tuesday they just showed up to the person’s house with no notice and time frame and open the door. Just because you rented chairs to a location doesn’t mean that you can have access to that location at any time of the day to get them back. Someone should be notified to wait for you and open for you because it is not your property. When we contacted the owner, he replied ‘I thought it was fine to pick up’. 2 days later with no notification!!! Smh 🤦♀️ I wouldn’t recommend this company. As a customer, you want to receive good customer service and be treated with respect. They are rude, unprofessional with no manners.
