I’m extremely happy with the results of my kitchen with The Breakfast Room. The team is professional, knowledgeable, and creative and I would recommend to anyone looking for interior design help
This review is my opinion based on my experience with Vasi Ypsilantis and her Company, The Breakfast Room. In 2013 I decided to purchase a property and build a waterfront home. The dream was to build a beautiful home so my family and friends could enjoy it together. I hired the top local builder>. I also decided to hire a designer to make the process seamless and make sure no mistakes were made. I also wanted the house to be carefully designed for function and beauty. After interviewing a number of designers, I hired Vasi Ypsilantis at The Breakfast Room. This was a huge mistake. After 2 years of construction, she did not even begin the interior design process. The house construction was complete but the powder room was not designed. No wallpaper selected. No sink selected, no toilet, just raw space. We never went shopping for furniture. We never went shopping for lighting. We never went shopping for the stone backsplash in the kitchen. In the master bedroom, the wrong sinks were installed and had to be replaced, and the countertop replaced due to this mistake. In one of the bedroom bathrooms she installed faucet and hardware which I did not select or approve. In the kitchen, Vasi decided to change the entire style of the hood without discussion or permission. 2 bathroom cabinets were installed with damage. The kitchen cabinets do not stay closed and pop open ALL day. The tiles for the niches and window jams were wrought with many errors. During this whole process, she traveled to Italy, Greece, and she was busy with some design show in Florida. Literally no interior design was done. I told her that I think she is too disorganized. She agreed and told me she was waiting for her daughter Chrystalla Neocleous to finish design school to help her at the company. I pre-paid her for this interior design work. I asked to have a meeting to discuss termination of the relationship and reimbursement for the work not completed. I was not asking for any money back for the errors for the work that was completed. Vasi and her husband Chris Neocleous refused to give me my money back for services not rendered, so I was forced to hire an attorney to resolve this problem. My recommendation, do not hire Vasi, or anyone at The Breakfast Room. There are many other high end designers, who are professional, talented, and organized. Vasi does not possess any of these qualities. I am attaching a photo of her daughter giving false 5 star reviews for her mommy to boost her online profile. This is the kind of person you are dealing with. Not honest at all.

2021-03-14We had a wonderful experience working with The Breakfast Room on designing our dream kitchen. Vasi designed a kitchen that was beyond our expectations. The craftsmanship and design was everything we imagined it to be. She spent time with us, listened to our family’s needs and made our hone complete! We also used her services for another kitchen project and once again did a phenomenal job!! I highly recommend Vasi, she is creative, knowledgeable and a true professional..

2021-04-23The Breakfast Room worked with me hand in hand to design my kitchen, pantry, family, room, living room, 4 bathrooms, walk in closet, mudroom, and basement. They helped me magically convey what was in my head, onto paper and then made it a reality. My home has been photographed and has been featured in design magazines. It is also is a place of humble refuge for family and friends. Vasi and her crew truly helped me make my house into a home. It has been 10 years since we worked together and I would work with them again without hesitation.

2021-03-18My experience with The Breakfast Room was a very positive one. I interviewed a lot of kitchen designers, but Vasi Ypsilantis was by far, the most creative, and out of the box-forward thinking CKD I have ever met. She was the only kitchen designer that took a chance, and changed the entire layout of my kitchen space, taking into thoughtful consideration the adjoining spaces. She brings her talent of interior designing, into the space planning of kitchens. As with most existing Manhasset homes, the kitchen spaces are not necessarily always huge, but she knew exactly how to open up my space, with the use of double French doors, giving my kitchen an extension to the outdoors. All the while elongating my cabinets to the ceiling, creating height, making my kitchen look and feel large and inviting. The kitchen is the heart of a home, and my family enjoys gathering and cooking together as often as we can. Designing the kitchen was not only something that came naturally to her, but her use of materials, contrast, lighting and the right amount of metal and sheen, is so next level, unique and fresh, its absolutely mind blowing. We were able to check off all of the items on my wish list. The quality of my Downsview Cabinets are amazing. I cannot express the joyful collaboration in working with Vasi and her staff, which I found to be so respectful. She made my dream kitchen a reality, and shell do the same for you!!

2018-04-19I worked with Vasi to design a new kitchen for my apartment in Great Neck. She carefully listened to my and my husbands needs and wants and successfully incorporated them into the designs. She gave insightful advice and thoughtful criticism if something didnt make sense to do or didnt work well with the design. As as designer myself, I respected her opinions and valued her vision but appreciated that she respected my vision as well. It was a collaborative effort and not a one-sided project. Our kitchen is the centerpiece of our new home and everyone who comes to visit is WOWed. Thank you so much!

2020-12-14Please dont make the mistake of making all the final payments before 100% completion of work. Vasi, the owner of the business makes you feel like she is doing a favor to you for completion of things which were agreed upon. Her husband who is the part of business: has used intimidation techniques including profanity when confronted for simple follow ups. There is a constant game of passing on the buck between the owner, installer and the support staff which is so frustrating. Please dont waste your time here.
