This place is really bad. We made reservations for 2PM on a Sunday and were seated outdoors in the “cabin” (plastic tent). We were told that a reservation didn’t guarantee an inside table. It was freezing cold. The server had an attitude problem (which she later apologized for). We were looking for somewhere else to go when the server suggested we order drinks and they would get us to a table or the bar in 20 minutes for food. Shortly after, they took our food order outdoors with still the promise to move us in. Way more than 20 minutes elapsed. We found ourselves eating our food out in the cold. Then, someone else was seated outdoors and they asked about open tables inside and were told that those tables were being held for reservations…. At that point, my friend held the manager accountable and got us moved indoors. We had finished our food and were just having our final brunch drink. The staff here are rude and they are liars. Aside from that poor experience, this place has bigger problems. Brunch dishes are served in small bowls that make it very hard to cut and eat. Are the bowls small to make the portions look larger? $15 gets you scrambled eggs and a few potatoes. The biscuits and gravy has a delicious sauce, but the bread is under cooked. Also the arugula on top is weird. They blast music midday like they’re some kind of club. The place clearly wants to be a scene. It’s a lot like Poco up the street - and we all know Poco is disgusting. I’ll never return to The Cabin, and I caution you to avoid it as well.
The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. Even though it seemed small, when consumed, it actually does fill you up. The Angus beef burger was delicious and juicy. One of the best burgers Ive ever ate. Would definitely recommend. Make sure to make a reservation to ensure you get your seats tho.
So much goodness about this place! The staff is amazing! From the moment you enter, you are greeted and seated. For drinks, I would highly recommend their Campfire Old Fashioned. The bartender adds a touch of class with 1 large cube of ice!Their Fried Chicken is the closest thing to my Great Grandmas fried chicken. Southern folks would be proud of the chef! My wife had the Jammin Bacon Cheeseburger. The burger is hearty, flavorful and cooked to the perfection that meat lovers will appreciate. The atmosphere is cozy. It feels like a neighborhood bar. If I lived in NYC, I would be here frequently. The staff are very sociable. Despite the speed they have to work because they were busy, you never felt like they were in a hurry when talking to you.Dré runs the place and has created an incredible atmosphere between his staff and those that frequent the establishment. You could see him and his staff have fostered a relationship I could only describe as family.
Lets start with the fun camping & cabin vibe! Even with Covid, you walk to the back patio and you feel it! Stop and take a photo on the swing! =) Now, the food...truffle fries, mac & cheese, salmon entree, brussel sprouts, all of it lived up to our expectations! The portion of mac & cheese seemed small and everything is served in to-go boxes, due to Covid but overall would go again and suggest to others!
Cute little cabin with a bar, unique decor and retro theme (love the vinyl record menus!) Came for brunch recently; not a bad deal with large entrees and 3 drinks for $10 (mimosa, bloody mary, screwdriver or lager). Theres a DJ booth, staff is chill, service is quick. It gets busy, but not overly packed.
Really you go here for the aesthetic. This place is decorated differently per each season and decked out. They have a really decent happy hour and the food is pretty good. Giving four stars because usually its pretty busy and since the inside is small it is hard to get a table at times.
I have to give this place a solid mehI get the idea of having a limited menu for brunch, but if its small, the food had better be spectacular. I came with a group and we all got different things and everyone was pretty disappointed in their food. The food also came out at wildly different times and the servers had to ask about 3 different times what we were waiting for. One persons side of bacon didnt arrive until after everyone had completely finished their meals. Spotty service just really set it over the edge, with inattentive servers and very small pours on both cocktails and coffee - Im talking like 3/4 full cups that were rushed over with no offer of refills.
Wonderful magnificent and amazing..the Atmosphere the energy the environment was so amazing the servers was terrific I felt like I was home eating ..thank you for the wonderful good and experience I hope and pray God continues to shower his blesses on this Establishment and and thank you for the extremely amazing and overly good quality food and service
It has a nice vibe but the food is NOT worth the price. My one slice of French toast with maple syrup and some apple slices on top, eggs with cheddar and an $8 can of beer came to $37.The French toast was on the burnt side and the eggs had English onion cheddar that added $2 to the $6 side of eggs 🤷🏾♀️
Really cute atmosphere but the food was bad. 5 stars was cuteness and 3 stars for food. And 3 stars for the hour wait for the food.I should’ve taken pics but it was so ugly that it wasn’t worth it. The French toast was 3 tiny pieces of regular bread (including a butt piece). The whole thing was only .5 inches high max. The scrambled eggs was really over cooked and they forgot my bell peppers in it. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was very dry and bland. Maybe the dinner is better.
Horrible experience. After being charged the wrong amount to my card when I communicated to the waitress that my items should have been priced from the happy hour menu given the time she print the correct bill. They then still charged me the incorrect amount and send the high bill to my bank as the “right bill”. I had previously called the business to connect with the manager so it could be resolved prior to me contacting my bank and no one returned my call. Never going here again, they steal money.Update: Dre the manager of the establishment who’s name I wasn’t given the first couple of times I called because the restaurant was busy was able to help me out. Thankful there are still good workers who honor customer service. I changed my rating at the food itself it great alone with the drinks.
The music was good. Food was meh. Coffee isnt on the menu for a reason. It was weak and watery. Theres a back garden to sit outside, so its nice you dont have to sit in the street, but they didnt pipe the same music from inside. We had a reservation, but if we wanted air conditioning, we could only sit at the bar. I dont see myself coming here again.
Great service and the food was yummy! My husband and I got the burger, fried chicken, and salmon cakes. We also got two cocktails that were really good! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only thing is that their tables are very small and slanted, so it makes it a bit uncomfortable to eat.
First time doing indoor dining for a while in NYC! It was great customer service, great food. It was 5 of us, was supposed to be 7, but still they accommodated us very well! Felt very welcoming and comforting. The drinks were not strong enough for us though. We added extra shots and still nothing. But we would go back for the burger and that Mac and cheese and the customer service!
The place is cute and the music is good but the drinks were absolutely horrible and the food was even worse. I hate to write a review like this about a place but I also hate spending a lot of money on really poor quality drinks and food. The fries and the fried chicken both tasted like they were cooked last night then refried again today. The drinks are all super sweet and watered down. The service was good but wow I could not believe how consistently bad the food and drinks were. Hopefully it was just a one time coincidence.
6/2021: Had the biscuits & gravy brunch meal. It was very flavorful. Although it looked like my cats throw up (gray with meaty bits) but it was tasty and delicious. Friends ordered the French toast and chicken & waffles. Best looking dish was the chick n waf. All the plates were somewhat smaller portions. Just enough to satisfy at the moment but feel hungry again in 2 hrs. You go for the 80s hiphop music which is great! Very selfie pic worthy! Their specialty cocktails were flavorful but do not leave you feeling tipsy. I had no buzz after 3 of them. They also have a shaded somewhat enclosed backyard. Waiters, hostess & barista were all friendly and accommodating with good suggestions.
To be honest, I wish I could give this place a 0! The positives of The Cabin are that the ambiance and drinks are amazing. I will give them that.. BUT the customer service is TERRIBLE! I came here to celebrate a friends birthday and from beginning to end We were rushed. There was no communication prior to us arriving about table time or the overall structure of their brunch. There is also no information on their website either. Once we arrived, the aggressiveness of Joe and his team was truly unmatched! Our food and drinks, though tasty were shoved down our throats and they made us painfully aware that they needed us gone ASAP! We definitely will NOT be coming back to this establishment.
Was at the Lovers of Today bar which was a GREAT BAR with GREAT DRINKS (go here instead) and honestly the door lady next door for The Cabin was so incredibly rude that it got me to write this review. I mean, maybe that is the vibe The Cabin is trying to go for? But yikes.
We had a super fun and socially distant, Covid safe Halloween experience here with our group of 7 on the back patio. The atmosphere, drinks, food and service from our waitress, Christina, were top notch. They even had a heater to keep us warm. My favs of the night were The Dark & Stormy specialty rum cocktail as well as the truffle fries and deconstructed apple pie :) great fall vibes
It’s a cute place don’t get me wrong but I made a reservation for 3:30..got there on time & was told the kitchen was closing at 4 to prepare for dinner ok..everything I tried to order they were out of legit everything so at this point anyone would be frustrated understanding I ordered a burger that was nothing worth what we paid at the end of the visit. My friend didn’t like her food either. Then we were hurried along by the owner bc they had a private party so even better for this I won’t return.
Where do I even start! The food is out of this world!!! The waffles, the PAC potatoes & eggs are to die for. So flavorful & savory! So good that I order some to go!! The music is also amazinggggggg, if your into old school rnb this is the place for you!!The owner Joey is incredible he takes the time to come to the table and personally introduce himself, so kind &accommodating. Its very clear that The Cabin is more than just a restaurant, its a staple in its community, a family, and overall hub for great minds to congregate. The staff are also amazing. So caring & personable. Kristina is one of the best servers/bartenders I’ve ever had.I will most for sure become a regular here. Worth every dollar!!!!
Came here on a weekend, late afternoon with sister and friend. We were stunned that it was still crowded past brunch hours. The staff was friendly and offered us seats by the bar. About 40 minutes and 2 drinks in, we were getting restless and asked for a wait time estimation. We received a comforting, whenever a table leaves. A big table opens up but it was given to a couple who entered after us and definitely didnt need that much space. We decided to leave after we heard staff talking amongst themselves about running out of ingredients. Ive never worked in the food industry but it seems really disorganized to get to that point. Two stars for the tasty cocktails, cute record menus, and cabin decor. Wish I had an actual dining experience because it wasnt an easy commute getting there.
Great brunch! What a delicious and fun time. We had a party of 10... Even if you are 2, make reservations. They filled right up and for good reason..fresh made delicious food and 3 morning cocktails for $10. Awesome! Who doesnt want 3 mimosas? We loved it. I had the avocado toast and it was perfection!
Probably one of the best places in the East Village/Alphabet City area to get some great Instagram pics while having some cocktails. The TVs typically show the bars logo, but The Cabin does have a full Directv package to show those important games if the crowd or best customers request.
Very chill, even elegant cocktail spot in the East Village. Really neatly built out with a great staff. They were friendly and made a hell of a great cocktail. We came for drinks but perused the menu. Very interesting. We will def return to eat. We were super comfortable here, the lighting is soft & sexy. The seating was soft and made you want to stay. Great addition to the hood.
Great concept! Warm and cozy vibe. Staff was friendly and attentive! Food cocktails were amazing and be sure to try the s’mores dessert. All made from scratch. The chef makes his own marshmallow! The whole experience was fantastic! My wife and I will be back! Great new spot in alphabet city!
Service was good, they kind of ran out of what I wanted on the menu but to be fair it was late. But the food was really good. Drinks were good. They took a really long time to get one of my friends food out. We were pretty much done eating by time she got her food. But they did a good save by giving us some shots on the house. It was a great place and I would go back.
Had a great time here. Joey, the owner, made us (two tourists from London, England) really welcome. We only wanted a drink but he made sure we had good seats at the bar and then gave help with the drinks menu. I wanted a cocktail and he recommended one which was expertly executed by the bartender.. absolutely gorgeous. Even as we were leaving and taking a pic outside, Joey came out to thank us for stopping in.Wed definitely recommend this place for a drink and had we had time would have eaten here too. Hopefully next time....
Fantastic ambience, excellent service and fantastic food. The cocktails were creative and the food was very fresh! Talk about farm to table, everything is locally sourced and the chef really puts in a lot of effort into the food that goes on your plate! Great place to stop by after work or even for a great dinner!
I enjoyed this restaurant very much! The food was very delicious, especially the Biggie biscuit and gravy for the Throwback Brunch on the weekends. The staff is very nice and friendly, the chefs are efficient and quick. Im going back during the week to sample more of their varieties of dishes! Keep up the incredible work you all are doing!😊
Decided to give this place a shot !! It’s been the talk of town on Instagram. Stopped by on Sunday afternoon , and rest was an experience. Walked through the door and I really felt like I was in a cabin back in Poconos !! The decor gives it the cozy feel !! From the bears to the trees , it had an amazing vibe. I was greeted and seated right away !! There was a live DJ playing the best classic, it’s was just a great vibe in there .They had a brunch menu going on , and sounded dope ! We went through with it and ordered couple different dishes from it . One thing I noticed was that the menu was printed on old records !! That was pretty cool to me !! I pick up on small details.Food was really really good , and priced pretty well. If I could remember there were like 8 to 9 items on the menu. It’s was nice and small !! Something for everyone !! We tried like 5 out of the 9 dishes !! I must say all were great. I would just recommend a little bigger portion size just a little .Drinks we decided to order separate rather than the usual brunch ones . I heard there Spicy Margarita was really good and it actually lived up to it !! It Really was GOOD and worth every penny . Bartender even made a Virgin drink for my non-alcoholic friend , it was surprise one and tasted amazing .Overall I loved it and it a MUST SPOT TO CHECK OUTAmbiance- 10/10Food- 9/10Service - 10/10Happy Hour - Not SureBrunch - YesWiFi- Not SureEntertainment- Yes live DJParking- Street
This new place is trying to simulate a cabin. A really luxurious cabin by my standards. But they met my expectations and then some! They take pride in their custom made cocktails, but in my opinion their food is what they should be most proud of. You can taste that the chefs have spent time preparering every single meal.As a Norwegian I’ve been to many cabins in my life, but this one is really one I’d visit again!Don’t leave without trying the chicken and the meatballs!
Bit on the expensive end for Ave A area, but great, homemade cocktails and fantastic decor! They change it seasonally so make sure to keep coming back for more.Food is pseudo-tapas based so make sure to order enough to go around (probably 2-3 per person), but is well worth it to try the whole menu!
My friends and I are always looking for a cool new place to try. While walking around the lower east side, we stumbled upon a new restaurant called The Cabin NYC. We planned on having a few drinks and then leaving but ended up staying the whole night! The atmosphere is both classy and cozy. Between the beautiful trees, the huge bear, and the wood covered walls, you really get the feeling of being in a cabin in the Poconos! The flickering lanterns hanging from the ceiling were a nice touch as well. For my first drink, I ordered the lazy daiquiri, which was absolutely delicious. I had such a warm feeling with the taste of cinnamon and pear I had to order another one! My friend ordered the mountain mojito which she said was so refreshing and unlike any mojito she had ever tasted! After two rounds of drinks, we decided to order some food. We ordered the cabin greens to start. I have never loved a salad before but I will definitely be back for this salad. It is a delicious twist on a caesar salad that left me wanting more! Next, we ordered the brussels sprouts which were delightfully sprinkled with brown sugar. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Then, we ordered the fried chicken which was served with a hot honey sauce. A timer was placed in front of us for two minutes to allow the flavors of the chicken to open up. The temptation was killing us but we waited. Once we took the first bite we were in heaven! Although we were full, we had to see how the dessert was. We ordered the s’mores. The chef came over to our table and explained how the s’mores are made and then lit a torch and roasted the marshmallow top of the s’mores dessert. It gave me the feeling of sitting beside a campfire at night roasting s’mores. I couldn’t get enough. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the drinks were delicious, the food was unbelievable, the atmosphere was comforting, and everyone around us seemed to be having a great time. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!
There’s no better place in EV for brunch or drinks anytime than the Cabin. This place is so adorable and So insta-worthy. First dates - go here. Impress a girl - go here. Jam to 80s90s on a Sunday afternoon - go here. Happy hours go until 8 4 nights a week. The owner Joey is a kid from the neighborhood who came back to open a place in his old stomping grounds. He’s generous and kind and will make sure you have a great meal. For $10 on Sundays u get three drinks (mimosas - screwdrivers Or bloodys) w ur brunch for $10. Crazy! Just stop reading this and go!
Drove all the way down from upper manhattan to check it out on a thursday night after hearing about it on instagram. we sat at a table & our server was super friendly, but we noticed the bartender didnt even bother making our drinks & only focused on his bar guests. the server apologized for the wait & asked the bartender again to make our drinks, & he still didnt. he even proceeded to make drinks for bar guests who arrived WAY AFTER our drinks were already input into the system. what blew our minds was the fact that it was not busy at all. we told our server to forget the drinks & we left. my friends & i are all bartenders/servers, so to experience this was super disappointing.

2021-09-20We were nestled within stunning nature without all of the other unpredictable elements and we loved that! There were no flies or bees buzzing around and that was priceless. The photo ops were amazingly cute— especially on the swing and the tree centered inside of the establishment. I loved the ambiance with the infusion of hip-hop vibes and ole school feels. As a Hip-Hop Publicist, I was happier than a kid in a candy store. My Bestie ordered the chicken & waffles while I ordered the French Toast with a side of bacon. I tasted her meal and felt as though the chicken could’ve been a little more seasoned. I wasn’t crazy about my French Toast once it arrived— as the crust was tough and the middle was too soft but their combination of flavors with this dish, was spot on. The thick cut bacon was perfect. My meal had not come out simultaneously with my friend’s; however, the staff communicated with us every step of the way and made up for it by providing two complementary shots without us having to inquire about my food. The drinks were awesome! I ordered the “21 Questions” and had two more to follow. 😁 I loved the professionalism of the staff as well. We will be back each season to see the different change in decor this restaurant creates to go along with the cultural immersion. I highly recommend you grab your bestie and brunch here. This place provided an authentic way to connect with nature. The Cabin NYC dared to be different and it was delightful.

2022-06-05This is a great place to go to for the decor and the drinks. The food was very disappointing. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was dry! My friend ordered the egg white scramble which was also okay. I dont really recommend this place other than for drinks.

2021-09-13I came here for post dinner drinks on a Sunday and had an overall nice experience. My friend and I both ordered the shaky leaf cocktail and it was good in that it tasted different than your typical sweet or strong drink. It was kind of strong but the mix of the vanilla bean & pineapple made it stand out.We sat indoors and loved the décor of floral, woodsy and glamping vibes. Its great for photo-ops and theres an outdoor area in the back, which we didnt get to explore too much.I mostly loved the music here which included a lot of Drake (CLB), whom I stan, and other such hip & hop hits. Also on the way to the bathrooms theres a hidden swing which is super cute to take pics, so dont forget to check it out.

2021-12-19The ambience was nice, the waiters were nice and helpful. However, wish they had more options with food I had the fried chicken took one home to realize it wasnt cooked completely. But for good vibes it was worth the trip. I was suggested the rustic mule, wish I could taste the alcohol.

2022-02-03This place is a hidden gem in the EV! Staff is amazing, food is great and they offer great week night specials. We ordered everything to share and it was all amazing. The truffle fries and Brussels sprouts were some of the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place.

2021-07-28Great food. I had chicken and waffles. My cousin had the pancakes. Really cool decor. Only negative is the bathrooms are too dark. I like more light in bathrooms to see if its clean or not.

2022-04-11Food was okay but overpriced. Drinks were inconsistent. Our second round of the same cocktails tasted quite different, with noticeably less liquid in the glasses. While polite, the service was incredibly rushed. Literally had to ask multiple servers to leave plates that still had food after they took them without asking. Definitely not returning here.

2022-06-17The food was just okay. Nothing really spectacular. I did like the brussel sprouts as well as the ravioli. Avoid getting the Truffle fries theyre just kind of strange. The aioli for the fries was just too much and wasnt Incorporated on everything so Im used to having a lie on the side so you can dip into it kind of thing as opposed to on top to wear only some fries getting others not. I would say go here with the intention to drink. The drinks were decent. But also nothing to scream about. Also just know they could run out of their popular items. When I went they were missing several things that we actually wanted to eat. So beware.
