The Capital Grille in other cities:
This steakhouse is always consistently good. Our waiter was one of the few employees that was wearing a mask so we definitely appreciated that. Took away one star bc my steak was closer to medium instead of medium rare. Otherwise the rest of the dishes we ordered were delicious and they also gave us 2 complimentary desserts for my friend and I who were celebrating our birthdays there. Try their generous pour in the summer, it is a great deal!! 🍷
We took our daughter to CG for her college graduation dinner on 5/19/22 and the service was flawless. They gave her a card and her own special desert and made her feel special by the decorations on the table. That was so sweet. Gino was our server and he was FABULOUS! He worked our private room of 10 people and he was patient, suggestive and took the time to answer questions. The ambiance of the room was relaxing and the food was good. I will definitely return, next time, just a table for two.😊 Thank you for such wonderful service.
My wife and I frequent this particular location often and normally I would leave a 5 star but I regretfully must do otherwise. My wife and I rarely go out but tonight we had an opportunity and decided to take advantage of a gift card. The first inkling of an issue was that they ran out of rib eyes. The server expertly gave me an option and it was good. The real problem, however, arose with the cream spinach. Someone left wax paper in the cream spinach and my wife chewed on it until she realized that something was wrong. We told our server without making a scene and he informed the manager. We weren’t looking for anything but this is a high end restaurant known for customer service. Her response was less then acceptable considering how this restaurant prides itself on customer service. This is not something that should happen and she was very lucky we were not the kind of people who would make a scene. This situation was and should be a wake up call to them and I hope they will learn from this experience. We definitely won’t be back for a while.
I was here to celebrate my brothers business anniversary. It was a was a lovely experience. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, especially our waiter John. He went above and beyond for us!The food was delicious and made with love. I had the surf (lobster) and turf (steak), both of which were made according to my request and were simply delicious, even as leftovers. ♥️♥️I would definitely return and recommend to others.
Thank you Capital Grille for an amazing birthday dinner!Service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. We noted that we were celebrating a birthday when making the reservation, and they had the table decorated for us. ((This was a very special touch because restaurants often overlook the special notes when making a reservation))We ordered the calamari as a starter, and the peppers in it were delicious. For our entrees, we got the Sliced Filet Mignon, Sirloin, Brussel Sprouts, and Parmesan Truffle Fries. So flavorful and the meat was cooked perfectly.I couldn’t have been happier with the food, service, and ambiance.
Our waiter Francisco was amazing we had an issue with a drink he called the manager Amy she immediately rectified the issue. We come here often and always get Rahmat as our waiter he always goes above and beyond his service is exceptional! We dine out often different restaurants we’ve never had service the way he does it.
I came here to celebrate with my family members birthday and I was VERY disappointed. The food was just fine as usual but the tall lady at the front desk was very rude. We made a reservation 3 days ago and when we came in for dinner, we were told to wait 15 minutes. Other people who came in after us were getting seated before us. When we were brought to our table, they put us near the entrance. This table was disturbing and unusual. Every time we come to this location, the same person, at the front desk, never treats my family with hospitality. The workers don’t seat us right away. This has happened so many times to the point my family and I refuse to dine in this location in the future. I hope the other locations will treat everyone with the same amount of respect.
Before I begin: I love this family of restaurants. I have had excellent experiences in the past, and because of this I will continue to be a patron. However, the streak of excellence had a significant PAUSE on 2/20/2022, I made a reservation for my husband and his business associates to dine at 7:15pm. Unfortunately, when I changed the time of reservation on the OpenTable app, the number of people changed from 5 back to 2. I didn’t realize this. Fast forward, to 7:15pm when they arrived, they were told the reservation was for 2 people, so their party of 5 could not be accommodated for the evening (in a rude manner). We then checked the open table app to find (SURPRISE!) a reservation for 7:45pm at the same location for FIVE PEOPLE. We then booked that reservation and then the establishment said they could seat them. So what exactly was the problem? Now, I am very aware using caps lock in writing denotes shouting. However, that is how upset I am with how my husband and his associates were treated. To the management team: I highly suggest you review hospitality practices with your hostess staff before the impression being left by them is shared across all branches of your restaurant.Thank you.
Our waiter was a man by the name of Francisco. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I was very impressed of his table manners. He checked on us regularly to make sure everything was alright. His recommendations was spot on. Because of Francisco, I would be a frequent patron of Capital Grill of Garden City.
Great ambiance, service and entrées. Prefect for birthdays, business meetings or special occasions. Prices are reflective of the quality of ingredients used for each meal. I definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time on OpenTable. They do accept walk ins but depending on the size of party, day of the week as well as the time of day, wait times can be extremely long and upwards to over 1hr in some instances.
Im feeling like every time my friends and I come we are treated snooty and profiled! 2nd time coming and front desk has the undiversed ladies long Beach attitude! We felt so embarrassed and had my daughter question why they are rude and couldnt seat us. They claimed we need reservations and I know that was a lies as my other friends never have problems if you know I mean! You guys gotta do better and stop being snooty judgemental just look at the faces in there you will see exactly what Im saying! Never going back drove a long way too.
For a chain steak restaurant, this place is really good. Easy to see in the parking lot of Roosevelt Field Mall, next to the movie theater. Friendly Staff. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. Plenty of parking. Great Bar. Upscale prices so bring your credit card. Public Restrooms. Great for lunch. Reservations recommended. We will definitely be going back.....
The Capital Grille is amazing! We ordered the chefs suggestions. Rib eye, kona, tenderloin with lobster, and salmon. We also got truffle fries and brussel sprouts. Richard was such a great server along with everyone that helped us with our food. The champagne that they have is also amazing. Food temperature was good, the meat was so tender, the brussel sprouts were cooked well. We got calamari, bacon, and lobster pancake as well for our apps. Will definitely come back soon! What a great indoor dining experience.
I appreciate them for finding me table on such short notice when they were completely booked. Portion sizes aren’t surprising (to be expected) due to upscale dining. The salmon entree and lobster tail were great. I personally found the calamari to be a bit salty and the lobster Mac to be okay (I’ve honestly had others I prefer elsewhere) The steak and lobster combo was decent as well. Staff members were accommodating. The blackberry and Bohemian cocktail were excellent. Not overpowering but enough for a nice date night. Screenshots of the selection are included.Be sure to ask for items that are on the menu but not listed, ex. grilled shrimp.
Steaks to perfection. Actually anything on the menu is done to please the customer. Service is great and the location offers plenty of parking. Weekends are packed and service drops a bit. This is by far the best of all the capital grille’s. For a more relax and enjoyable dinner try any Monday to Thursday nights.
Uhhh idk if its me or you Capital Grille. But Im thinking its not me. The atmosphere was sooo very loud. The kitchen was making a bunch of noise and the music was blaring and I could barely talk across the table. The drinks were delicious. The new whiskey sour in the black gourd.....omg. Our server, Lisa, was helpful, attentive and kind. Idk where we went wrong but.....All of the glasses were dirty, the appetizer plate was dirty, the flatware- hell lets just say it was a bad start. Of course it was all changed no harm no foul. The fried calamari was soggy....bruh....FRIED calamari. Ok whatever. The lobster bisque was cold. Not fridge cold but nowhere NEAR soup hot. Yeah..........then my MEDIUM Oscar style ribeye comes out and its swimming in oil and redder than my lipstick. (I was wearing Ruby Woo, for reference. ) At this point Im like theres a systemic issue here. Let me just order more drinks (haha, great problem solving) and enjoy my evening. I did what I could w the steak. I took it home and turned it into bomb leftovers for brunch. My dessert (berries and creme anglais) was as it should be and I got my usual extra serving of cream because why not.Idk if this is the end of my affair with Capital Grille. It feels like it is. We had a good run though. Ill remember you fondly.
WOW Im em speachless with this place. 1 st time here but most definitely not my last. Went as a company dinner and had a great time. We were seated in a very nice somewhat romantic private room with a round table. The appetizers where amazing. The entree where to die for and the desert was a slice of heaven. I forgot to take a pic of the cheesecake I got but dayummm was it good. The bathrooms where clean. They have 3 bathrooms by the way. Men, woman and family. The atmosphere is very sheek and elegant. The bar has all kinds of liquor. The bartender Kellie served me my 1st Old Fashion which to be completely honest was one of my best ever 1st. Wont be my last on that one either. The music was good. I really have no complaints about this place. I will be returning and since its in a mall the experience will be even better. $$$$ bring money with you lol. Enjoy as much as I did.
I have been coming here for years but never rated it before. This place is very classic steak house feel to it even though it is a national chain. The servers are fast and knowledgeable. They do not write the orders down and never get them wrong even with substitutions. Today we had lobster bisque, French onion soup, the cheese burger, and lobster roll. Everything was delicous. They accept credit and debit cards.
Wow! What a meal! One of the best restaurant experiences Ive had in years. Our server, Sarah was friendly, attentive and helpful throught out the entire meal (almost 2 hours). The Dry Aged NY Strip au Poivre is phenomenal, its a cant lose choice if you dont know what you want to eat. It was crusted with crushed peppercorn, perfectly cooked to a medium rare and then splashed with a Courvoisier cream sauce. I really am enamoured with the place and will most definitely make it my first choice when friends and family come visit.
This was my 2nd time at this specific location, and it was the best so far. We surprised one of our closest friends with a birthday celebration that included several surprise guests, that he had no idea were in town specifically for him. The restaurants private room was perfect as an enclave for our festivities, and the service from Ariella, greeting us, Lisa at the bar, and our head waiter Joe was 5 Stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 beginning to end. While I could also go on about the actual food, which is always truly delicious and plentiful, todays occasion was about how flawless everything was executed without a party planner and the minutia of details on a spreadsheet to sift through. What that tells me is, when you need a spot, on the fly, to deliver an experience that will be an unforgettable moment to remember... Reserve the Capital Grille, and let them take care of you. Whether youre flying solo, or running with your pack, I firmly believe your carnivores & herbivores will be satiated and your hearts will be delighted as well.#LocalGem #GreatEats #theresthatfoodie 🍽🥳😋❤
Why cant my waiters wear masks anymore. Really is that too much to ask for?For $360 for a couple it should be much better. Nothing was wrong but it was more like a $160 place for the tasteThe soups were the best things we had. The steaks were cooked perfectly but the quality was not the same as a good steakhouse. The place is nice looking. The service was good. However I would only go back if I had to. I can have a much better meal for that price.
Celebrated a birthday with friends. Food was so so good and the service: impeccable! Vanessa was our waiter and what a professional and polished young lady! Water refills without the asking!!! A rarity in most restaurants. Also, the manager stopped by to ask hows everything? Great night. Second time there and will be back!
We went for lunch, atmosphere was very comfortable, decor very relaxing. We sat at the bar for about an hour, before our reservation. The bartendress was so accommodating and very personable, big plus! Lunch was great, everyone ordered something different, all enjoyed their meal. Our table service person was great as well! Enjoyable, comfortable, and just fun! I recommend their restaurant highly!!
A amazing restuarant. Went here with my family for thanksgiving and had a great time. The waitress was a very nice lady who went over all the specials that were off menu and got us our drinks very quickly. For a soup I ordered the carmelized french onion soup, its flavor was decent but the onion seemed to be very strong in the bowl. For a main I ordered the sesame seared tuna which came with a side of rice and three sauces all of which I loved. The sauces were a soy sauce, a rice vinegar, and a wasabi. The tuna was done sushi style and cut easily like a knife through butter and had a amazing taste that mixed with the sauces. As a side we got the lobster mac and cheese which was decent as there wasnt much lobster in it but did taste good overall. Desertwas astounding as well, I ordered the cheese cake done crembrule style which seemed to melt in my mouth as I ate it. And as we were all preparing to leave the waitress gave us all little baggies with two cookies, one red velvet and the other gingerbread. I would definitely come here again, wether it be with my family or on a date it is the perfect place to get some very good food.
I come here every weekend. Sometimes I dine in and sometimes I order take out. There are times when the food is amazing and times when it’s not. I still love coming here, though. The waiters, waitresses, and bartenders are always super friendly. Only problem I really have is with valet. They’re so rude. If you can find a park, I suggest you park yourself.
My father is a man of few words. So when he says this was the best steak hes ever had, you best believe it. Get the Kona! Theres also an appetizer with bacon, cheese, and fig; make sure to get that. The French onion is super rich and flavorful. Cant wait for the next celebration we have here. Shout out to the manager Daniel!
Go to The Capital Grille Garden City for an elegant dining experience. The service is excellent and the food is outstanding. I took my friend there for her birthday and our table was decorated with confetti and she received a card from the staff. This was also a bucket list trip. Glad I went!
Was in the area conflicted whether to go to my regular favorite Seasons 52 or come to the CG. Chose CG and was satisfied. The lobster bisque was great; however, an offer of sherry to go in the soup would’ve been a nice touch. The bread basket was lovely. The lamb chops pair well with the asparagus. Drinks were nice. Overall the experience was pleasant and I will be returning the next time I eat over my caloric desires
Still no matter how many steak houses I go to, I still tend to find (even despite being a chain) this steakhouse to be magnificent. From the moment you call for reservation to when u arrive , the food , the dessert, the service everything is great. Ive come in sweat pants and tshirt and Ive been there all dolled up and I am treated with such respect and care . Kudos to the staff for providing such excellent service. The steaks are so delish with the rub choices and signature sauces. They anything on menu, you will not be disappointed.
The ambience was good. Entrees were well prepared. London broil was tasty. Calamari was served with mild hot peppers, lobster and crab cake served with green leafy vegetables. Deserts was excellent. A place to dine for special occasions. Averaged cost person runs $120.
Ordered take out . All staff wearing masks appropriately . Parking is available at the mall with an outside entrance for the restaurant . I ordered the filet (medium rare) with a cup of French onion soup . Unfortunately , what I received was an extremely rare steak that I had to put into the oven . For being a filet; the steak was rather fatty and highly salted . French onion soup was average . For a $70.00 steak / soup (with no sides included ) it wasn’t worth the price (and additional cooking time) for me .
The bottom line - not a good restaurant, far away from being “fine dining”After 2 visits, where the second one was “free” after we complained about the first one and were invented to dine for free, I can comfortably say, this restaurant is “wanna be” fine dine but it has nothing to do with high class dining . The only thing that is in correlation with fine dinning is the price ..Must say, everybody is super nice and we appreciate the gift to try it again, but not the servers, the chef or the bar tender are pros, very mild experience for fine dinning price. The worst thing was that our complain the first time was the location we were seated, this time despite the fact that the reservations were made by the restaurant manager- we were seated in the same place…. What?So sorry but we will not end backThere are far better restaurants in the area that are true chef Kichens and high class fine dinning for similar price. Not recommended.
Worst manager. Completely rude receptionist interrupted work phone call 5 times. Manager should be fired: Unable to communicate & totally not client oriented - did not hear anything- was just arguing, and arguing- was not trying to resolve anything. Asked for Id when picking up food to go from online order. Website does not say anything about Id. They did not ask for Id from anybody else picking up order. Do not go if you expect restaurant service. U get treated better in a diner. It is not restaurant. Manager & receptionist need to learn good manners.
We celebrated our son’s birthday and The Capital Grille did not disappoint. I have to say it was PERFECT. This was one of our best experiences yet. This is our first time at this location. Our server Kristen was an absolute sweetheart and her serving game was on point. We needed for nothing. The food was amazing. Our filets could have been sliced with a butter knife, it was melt in your mouth good. Lobster tail again, perfect. The French onion soup, lobster Mac, and mashed potatoes…kiss to the chef. Compliments to the bartender ,I could just go for the Stolli Dolis they are that good. Can’t forget the server assistants and hostesses , they were smiling and welcoming. Overall highly recommend 10out if 10. We will definitely be back.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and called ahead so they had a table set up with a birthday card and some little decorations on the table. Also got a dessert plate for my birthday. The service here is amazing. Wait staff is very attentive. Menu and food options all sounded so good. The food was great. I had the tenderloin and lobster. The only complaint my party had was that it was a bit pricey for what you get. One appetizer we didnt feel was worth it. And Steaks were a la carte so you have to order sides separately. However, the food is very well done. I left satisfied and would go again.
Food was really great. I know its specialty is steak but it would be great to have at least one or two more chicken dishes to ensure everyone at a gathering is satisfied. Chocolate flourless cake is REALLY dense (which I loved) and would have been even better with a bit of ice cream. Its expensive but that was expected.
I had 10 family members there to celebrate my wifes 60th birthday. Every one had a great time. Appetizers and food were cooked perfectly. We ordered lobster macaroni and cheese, the calamari and stuffed lobster/crabmeat appetizers. And steaks for dinner. The staff was very nice and organized. Will definitely recommend this place
Dined 09/04, 4:30PM reservation Bc I dine with kids. This restaurant is very convenient so its either here or Ruth Chris which I love. Food is great- shrimp cocktail, oysters, Caesar salad, lobster bisque, tuna tartare to start- lamb chops, chicken with risotto & sea bass as main entrees. Ambience great. Service, lacking. Our server John was either not kid friendly, or just didn’t want to serve us. Brought out the food hastily, not in order, had an attitude Bc he didn’t hear me say dressing on the side. We are still in a pandemic era- be grateful for all your customers. Provide service or get out the service industry. Do not judge!
Dined here for lunch recently during the pandemic. First off the staff here are friendly and did a great job trying to keep everyone safe with distancing and face masks. The ambiance here is great. Definitely a place for dates, special occasions, business outings or just because. The food was amazing! My ribeye was cooked perfectly, medium rare as requested. The steak knife provided was just as impressive. My party was just as impressed with their orders be it fish or a lobster salad.Price, yeah its up there but you get what you pay for in my opinion. This is not your Outback Steakhouse but up there with your preferred high-end steakhouse like Peter or Ruths.I would most definitely come back.
I don’t know if they’re lazy or they think they’re entitled but the service was terrible. The waiter never ever greeted us, it took him forever just to take our orders. My daughter and I waited so long to be waited on by Mario last night. Not one time did he come over to ask how we were doing, I had to ask him for refills 20 min after we finished our waters. He was so MIA I literally had to go to the host and ask for him. I used to love this place but with my experience from last night, I will never dine again.
I made a reservation via Opentable, and indicated it was a birthday lunch. We were seated prompted at a table covered with confetti. There was also a birthday card, signed by the staff. We were greeted by Melissa, who served us many month prior. Amazingly, she remembered us! This set the mood for a marvelous lunch of fried calamari, ribeye steak sandwiches, salad, truffle fries, and cream spinach. Melissa surprised us at lunch in with cheesecake and chocolate flourless cake, plated beautifully with fresh berries. Were looking forward to our next visit with Melissa!
Had lunch on June 11th with my family, made reservation on line, asked for a booth, just to see if I would get it. Got it. Lunch was amazing, the food was amazing, never went to this location, I visited the one in Boston many times, it was amazing there as well. Service was amazing and friendly, love it, will go back for sure. My picky 14 year old said it was the best filet he had since the Boston Capital Grille.
The customer service was terrible. They sat me and my husband away from everybody else. They rushed us out the restaurant. The steak was cold, the lobster Mac and cheese was cold as well. Waited 15 mins for service. Everybody has a attitude. The host gave a nasty attitude and nasty looks. They were very urgent on the bill. I do not recommend going to this location.
The Capital Grille never fails to provide a great experience. They sat us early and honored our request for the small room for privacy. John our waiter was knowledgeable and very nice. Food was outstanding. Easy parking and we ran into some friends there. All in all a great Christmas Eve 🎄 😊
The food here is exceptional. Everything is well seasoned and overall very tasty. Came to celebrate my birthday with a few friends and it was a good pick. The only downside was the extremely rude(blonde) hostess. My party went in while I parked and she told them I would not be allowed inside as the doors were already locked and kept arguing with them and saying things under her breath to them. Its a disgusting first impression and maybe she needs not to be at the start of someones evening. I know everyone raves about the lobster mac, and it was good but to me the other sides were a lot better; soy glazed brussel sprouts with bacon and mashed potatoes were very, very good. Ambiance was great and noise level was minimal. Would definitely visit again.
I’ve being here quite few times; the most recent one was for my engagement! And I have to say they are just divine!! The service, the staff the waitresses, the food, the atmosphere, they are so clean, and they made sure I felt comfortable and happy while on my engagement dinner.Their selection of wine huge and the waitress will make the perfect recommendations!I love this place.
Great ambiance, delicious wagyu appetizer. Best meat Ive ever had hands down! Excellent wine selection, we had the blue eyed boy from south Australia. French onion soup was served overflowing with cheese on top. Everything is just decadence! Highly recommended for a special occasion 🙂
We went the to celebrate our 20th anniversary Saturday evening The server was excellant how the next table had a large group with 1 extremely drunk person and extremely loud I mean this establishment is high class I was extremely embarrassed by her behavior even server noticed how upset I was and tried to apologize for her rude behavior. Normally we enjoy ourselves here but not this time.
We went to The Capital Grill to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was beyond amazing.Friendly staff, food was one of the best we’ve ever had, nice environment, good music, perfect timing for serving the food (appetizers, meal, dessert, coffee).I made a request online asking about the dessert that says “happy birthday + candle” and they brought it to us exactly when I thought “hmm I think now would be perfect for him to get his dessert” .We really feel like they know our needs, and care about making our moments at the restaurant special. they’re ready to bring you anything you ask, there’s no rushing about time to leave the table (as we already experienced in another restaurants), And everything is so organized and clean. We also felt safe, they are super careful about social distancing/masks etc.We loved everything, and for sure we recommend this restaurant !
Not at all a pleasant experience. We made a reservation for Saturday evening, as we frequented this place for about 2 years now. So, it wasnt our 1st time, but it will be our final. As we entered the establishment, we were ignored or unnoticed by the tall Asian manager. He addressed another guest who was not ready to be assisted, and still my husband & I were just standing in front of the hosts station- unnoticed for a considerable time. Was that the color of our skin - he didnt like? I could not help but to feel this way. In comparison, the other guest that received quick attention was of a different race. Finally, the tall manager has addressed our presence. Just the way he asked if we had a reservation, and the name- just wasnt sounding friendly or even polite. We followed him inside, however. We requested a booth in a corner, good enough for 3. Instead, he brought us to the table , not booth. And, it had 2 chairs by it. We understand about social distancing & having a limited number of booths, but why 2 stools & not 3? The Asian manager very coldly replied that my service animal may not be sitting on the stool, even though he is in his bag and would remain in it. We were very dissapointed with the entire short experience and headed for the exit. We will never return to this place. We were there many times prior with my service animal in his bag. We were always welcomed and the staff adored my well- behaved pomaranian. Looking back, our Saturday night experience went south right from the start. In these trying times, such an unwelcoming disregard for a customer- is not acceptable. We felt invisible, like we did not really matter. My advice to the potential customers of the Capital Grille- take your business elsewhere. They dont value customers, not even repeat ones. The managers make up new rules as they wish. If you want to be respected- do not go there! I know, I never will.
Capital Grill happens to be one of our favorite restaurants, weve been here many times over the years. Was here early September to celebrate our anniversary and came back a week and a half later to celebrate wifes birthday. The food is always consistent and the service is stellar. Never left with a frown. Sorry I forgot to take a picture so, just picture the finest steak you can imagine cooked to your perfection, creamiest mashed potatoes, delicious truffle fries, home baked dinner rolls and a tasty blue cheese wedge...Extra precautions were taken due to covid. Cant wait for another occasion, oh well Ill just have to make one up...Enjoy.
An outdated corporate run restaurant, they dont carry many alcohol like Mezcal, drinks are outdated, decor are from the 90s, the steaks used to taste much better, no more Porterhouse on the menu, but staff supper friendly and welcoming and the mashed potatoes is delicious, but these two good things are not enough to bring me back here... This is not my first time at Capital Grille but definitely my last as there are wayyy too many great places offering better food in much more modern vibe.
Went as a guest of someone celebrating their birthday so wasnt sure what to expect but I was very impressed. Definitely fine dining with prices to match but you will not be disappointed. From the complimentary valet parking to the attentive wait staff, they earned all 5 stars. They have unique cocktail selection and great wines. The food was outstanding and impressively presented. Great experience.
I got lollipop lamb chops and brussel sprouts. I found the food a bit Salty but got the most part Tastey. I Did NOT like the mixed drinks. They werent good, end of story. I enjoyed the bread basket and my dinner partner. The place is a bit Old & Stuffy. The best thing about it to me was my waiter who was very nice, knowledgeable and very engaging. Cant remember his name but his beard was Flawless.
Had a dinner with my family at The Capital Grill garden city last night: only sliced filet mignon was good and complementary sweets congratulations platter was a nice touch. Everything else wasn’t good at all (we ordered dry aged NY strip au Paivre, seared tenderloin with lobster tail the size of a shrimp, dry aged Ny strip; au Gratin potatoes were uncooked). Drinks weren’t good either. And to finish the night 4 out of 5 of us had a stomach issues in a couple of hours. Sorry I expected so much more from top chain steak restaurant.
Came to celebrate my anniversary. The service was spectacular. Our waiter gave us the cutest card and decorated our table with confetti. We ordered the bacon and baby greens to start. For our main course we had kona crusted steak and steak au poivre, with scalloped potatoes and sprouts. The bacon was a tad too salty and needed to be rendered more. We had some really fatty pieces that were inedible. The greens were simple but tasty. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. A perfect medium with every bite. My only issue was the overloading of the peppercorns on the au poivre. I would have preferred a simple Seared steak with the sauce on top. The side dishes were amazing as well. We opted for the coconut cream pie and our server gave us champagne and chocolate cake to celebrate! It was a perfect place for our special night.
Was my first time dining at this restaurant for a dear friends birthday. The ambiance was spectacular. Our waiter Richard was attentive, accomodating and anticipated everything we wanted. The food was excellent. I will definitely be dining at Capital Grille again! Bravo!
Host needs to be taught some manners. Had reservation for a big group but the arrogant attitude made us cancel our reservation. We only decided to eat at your place because Ruth Chris had no reservation so we resorted to the next thing a little higher than Applebee’s or Fridays. Lost my business for good. Also, if management is concerned, reservations was under Nora for 4/25/21. You should know who was answering the calls that day.
Tried to make reservations for Sunday and this girl answers the phone..very rude..didnt have the time available that I wanted and in the process of trying to figure out what time they had available she JUST SLAMMED DOWN THE PHONE.NOT A SIMPLE HANG UP IT WAS SLAMMED DOWN
Wow what an experience at the Capital Grille.Let’s start with the positives:Great atmosphere, attentive staff, pretty decent customer service. They were very good in their post Covid duties.However... the food was not good at all. As a matter of fact, we felt sick after eating. The steak was very bland, the asparagus has way too much citrus. The lobster Mac n cheese was very weird and the mash potatoes had a gravy consistency. I just don’t understand the salt butter and my margarita was not good either. :(The money we paid was not worth it all. Not worth the flavor of the food and the fact we are sitting here nauseous
I usually go to Ruths Chris but was referred to Capital Grille and decided to give it a try. I was very unsatisfied with the food. The noodles were under cooked, the steak was not cooked the way we requested...to make it up they offered us a free dessert..It was a nice gesture but was far from enough this is not friendlys.(kinda seemed like it though with the way they messed up the steak)..The manager and staff were very nice though.sorry but I cant wait to text the person who referred me here and tell them that they lied. Wish I didnt try this place on my husbands bday..for sure put a little damper on a good day.
3/28/21 We had an early dinner today at The Capital Grille. The steaks were fantastic but the kicker was the service. John took care of us like family. Great service, polite interaction and always said something to make you feel at home. Ill be looking for John next time I come to Capital Grille.
Atmosphere was beautiful👌. Service was excellent. Very Nice and cozy place. 4 stars because the food was a bit bland and lacked lustre on the palette. Food plating was very boring. (Website and social media photos dont compare). My husband and I had the South African Lobster (boring), New York Strip (boring), Mashed potatoes (good) and lobster mac & cheese (good). The alcoholic drinks were excellent. We had a few. I would still return another day and try other menu items. I am a Chef and sometimes we do have bad days.
It seems like everyone is having a bad experience at Capital Grille @ Roosevelt Field. The service is horrible, the food ~ average to poor, the bathrooms are dirty and the place is falling apart. Do yourself a favor and go to Fogo de Chao if you can get a reservation, you will enjoy a better quality steak and service is outstanding!! Enjoy.
We had reservations for to celebrate with a birthday dinner, they were not able seat us immediately as it was very busy and packed however this is where great management and customer service skills came into play for this restaurant. The manager approached, greeted us by name, shook our hands apologized for the wait and ensured we were taken care of by one of their best servers aka Rachel.Rachel was knowledgeable about the menu. Inquired with us about any food allergies then provided recommendations. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and overall just damn nice. Her recommendations were spot on, lamp chops, calamari, Sea bass, sides etc. If youve never tried this restaurant you must atleast once you will not be disappointed.
We’ve been coming to this location for a number of years and so far, every experience have been nothing but great. We love their cold seafood Grand Platô, steaks are always cooked and seasoned to perfection and also we enjoy browsing a bottle of wine through their Ipad. The staff’s great as well.
Excellent service and Amazing food! Steaks were cooked to perfection and sides were also delicious as well. The waiters were very friendly and the manager always comes to make sure everything is good, and if that is not friendly service, I dont know what is. Decor, scenery, and atmosphere also has its perks. 100/10.
This place is a real fine dining gem the food is excellent to say the least. One of my biggest pet peeves the parking well guess what they have valet and its no charge if you eat at the restaurant. From steaks to Seafood the salads the deserts the drinks you cannot go wrong in this place. The minute you walk in you have a sense of opulence. Wonderful food wonderful atmosphere and the wait staff is second to none Ive only gotten better service at other five star restaurants. I enjoy coming here at least once every two weeks and it is an absolute treat each and every time. A shout out to Melissa who is my waitress for lunch she was amazing and I really appreciate her professionalism. I definitely must go to high-end dining experience.
I have eaten in many fine restaurants and I have to say the food at Capital Grille is truly at the top of the list. From the first bite of our appetizers which for me was steak tartar and garlic shrimp every bite is delicious and perfectly cooked. The service is also top of the line. Professional, experienced wait staff that adds to the overall experience. You will love the food and varying choices of dishes. Bring a date or a loved one and watch the joy as they experience this for the first time. Highly, highly recommend.
Amazing staff. Immaculately prepared and plated food. Drinks were also great (tried both bourbon options). Desert was amazing (cheesecake and raspberry sorbet). They were courteous enough to keep the kitchen open late for us. Would definitely dine here again and recommend it to anyone who may be considering dining here. A truly remarkable and memorable experience.
The food was good and it was my birthday so they gave me free cookies(4) I just didnt like that I was pregnant coming to pick up food spent $124 and they couldnt let me use the bathroom because I wasnt Dining in just taking out. other than that I will be back to dine in. I loved the lobster crab cake, I got 2 orders of it
Great food Great service= great experienceWow, is all I can say to an absolutely wonderful evening. The fact that the food, service and ambiance really helped push my evening over the top. I can still smell the perfectly cooked rib eye steak and the awesome texture of the spinach. The amazing bottle of red suggested by our server helped to tie it all in.
Porter house was amazing . Swordfish was excellent . Appetizer was great . In fact there wasnt anything negative about the food at all. I didnt have a drink so I cant comment on that . Service was relatively exceptional. Maybe I could stood to see the server a bit more but I wouldnt count that as a negative . The negative was that it was pretty cold and dark where we were sitting. I dark I have no problem with but the cold was a bit much . Still not enough to sway me into taking away a star
Capital Grille always amazes and always classy. Went for dinner last night to Capital Grille and made a reservation.Service was amazing and prompt even accommodating to children we had in our party.Ordered Tuna tartare with sriracha sauce. Must try appetizer. Ate the whole thing by myselfOrdered lobster Mac and cheese, truffle fries, and Brussels sprouts. The lobster Mac and cheese was super gooey and generous chunks of lobster and bread crumbs.Truffle fries were perfect crispy with delicious truffle oil on top.The Brussels sprouts has some sort of glaze that was angelic. MUST GET. Trust me.For main course I ordered the bone-in ribeye steak with a balsamic glaze. Ordered medium. Wow the glaze was amazing and the meat quality was perfect. The steak was the right temperature and came out with a perfect crust.Capital Grille is a very good recommendation for a date night or a night with friends when you want to indulge.
Went to celebrate our 18 year anniversary. Made reservations for 5pm and got seated immediately. I do have to say the girl that greated us had no personality. She was stone faced and barely said hello. Not exactly sure why they would someone like that as a greater. Our waiter was excellent. Very nice and accommodating. Bus boy as well. Food was good, came quickly and was cooked to our liking. Hot as well. We had 2 steaks filet bone in, lobster mac and cheese , potatoes gratin and 2 creme Briles for dessert. Bill was 250 dollars. Not quite sure if it was worth that. Way over priced. Overall it was a good visit. Again not worth the 250 dollars. Especially with the attitude we got first walking in. Not sure if we will be back.
Two stars for our server. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very accommodating. Overall, this place is over priced and NOT worth it in my eyes. Went for lunch. We had truffle fries that were not fried well enough and super greasy. We had a salmon burger that was terrible and needs tons of work. And we had a plate of salmon with Bibb salad that had champagne dressing ( which was the worst part, it tasted stale ). The Quality of meat of the salmon compared to the price didn’t equal to value and the same as the sandwich. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the fact that the french fries had truffle oil or else I probably would not have been able to eat one and the attentiveness as well as genuine service style of the server. I wish I remembered his name. They have a section of the parking lot (right in front the door) reserved only for VALET parking which is also expensive, when they can just use the section to let patrons park their own damn cars. Come on.
Came for the wagu beef burger and wine pairing. Very well priced. Wait staff was very good, only slacking a little at the very end when we asked for water, but by then tabs were paid. Food was well cooked, of the three burgers our table ordered, mine came slightly overcooked, not enough to complain, but enough that it showed inconsistency considering all three should have been cooked simultaneously. Nice steakhouse, overall a good experience.
We reserved it very last hour for our anniversary, it was very sweet of the restaurant to make it more special by giving us a great place with acknowledging our anniversary by a card and heart shaped confettis. As per food it was one of the best steak I had and just the way I like it. Every bite was worth the money we paid for. I dont like to give 5 stars because I believe theres always a room for improvement. Being it was weekdays Wednesday, the place was quiet busy. I will end the review saying I have nothing BAD to say about this place.PS- Valet parking is free when you dine with the restaurant. Your server gives you a receipt.
Came here last minute for my birthday because the place we had originally booked was closed due to the blizzard. Called at 8:50 for a 9:30 reservation. We got there a little early, they said our table would be ready in five minutes - great! The girl at the front desk was warm and friendly, as were the other hostesses. We were seated quickly at a booth (yay!) Love the ambiance, very upscale makes you feel like you are at a private club. Our waiter, Will, was a bit cold at first, but warmed up to us quickly. Excellent service and he did little things to make my birthday celebration feel special. The calamari is the best weve ever had, its a must try. They give you so much food, its impossible to finish everything. All in all, an excellent place to celebrate a romantic birthday.
We arrived with no reservation on a Thursday night and were told that it would be about a 15-minute wait. They have a line of stools set up near to, but separate from, the bar, so if you arent interested in a drink while waiting, dont feel obliged to order anyway.10 minutes later, we were seated. I had the Chefs Suggestion Delmonico with aged balsamic, and to my surprise, it was easily one of the best steaks Ive ever had. And I was very hesitant to pollute my steak with anything, thinking steak sauce means youve lost the taste battle. It was totally an unexpected surprise. The service was prompt and friendly, the ambiance pleasant. It was pricey, but not in the wow, this bill is surprisingly high kind of way. Youre going to pay about $120-$150 for two, depending on the choice of appetizers and/or dessert. That, I should caution, is without wine, the selection of which the place is famous for. (Were Philistines and didnt partake.)
Had a date night with my husband last night. The food and service was top notch as always. Our server Alex went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. If you want quality food with quality service The Capital Grille is the place to go.
Ambiance is good, looks fancy and decent but when it comes to food, not worth that expensive.Calamari was not crispy and it was soggy with oil. Ceaser salad is the worst you can eat here .Service is slow.Overall food is ok but they need more detailed dishes.I was disappointed with the food and services.
Actually my three stars is somewhat generous. My wife and I decided to go here for a rare date night. We asked for a booth, instead we got seated in the middle of a room with a large party. Of course our server paid more attention to the table with the large group and was not very attentive to our needs. The food was a little above average, but nothing spectacular. While you are paying top dollar my expectation is to gain a unique experience, not a sub par one. Overall this was a big let down and we will not return
This was a phenomenal experience. Everything that was had was delicious, whether it was the creamed spinach or mashed potatoes and most importantly the rib eye steak. Attentive staff made the process even better, truly an experience that I look forward to repeating in other locations.
Excellent service from the wait staff to the manager. The steak tartar was great, the 24 oz. porterhouse was tender like butter, and 10 oz. Filet Mignon was very tender. You cant pass this one up. Top notch decor with great food. Make sure you say hello to Ron, Dave, David, and Guinevere.

2022-05-23The place is nice, upscale, mainly everyone is dressed up. The food is pretty good, not 5 start good but more like 4 starts. The servers are pretty knowledgeable and professional. Restaurant offers valet partaking for $8 as long as you have it validated at the restaurant otherwise you will be paying $20. There are plenty of parking around the mall. The restaurant is very good with birthday or anniversary celebration. When I got to the restaurant the staff members had a table decorated with hearts. At the end of the meal the waiter brought complimentary Flourless cake.

2022-01-22We had yet another lovely experience for dinner. We did go on a Saturday night so there were more mall goers than usual (not dressed as casual, more teens etc). I asked the waiter to move me to the back where it is more intimate and she did. We had such a nice dinner it was worth every penny! They even decorated the table with confetti and placed a birthday card for me!

2021-11-16Had a good time here for guys night out. I recommend setting a reservation beforehand because they fill up quick. The atmosphere is serene. We enjoyed wonderful service from everyone on the team. I really enjoyed the cream of spinach, that was my favorite amongst the sides. The fried calamari was bursting with flavor. The steak was exceptionally well cooked. Superb establishment.

2022-04-09Amazing place to have dinner on special occasions. The menu is pricey but you get high quality steak and seafood. All the dishes we order were fresh and cooked perfectly to our liking. Service is fast and super attentive even with all the tables full. Only wished they had a porterhouse steak for 2 like the other neighboring steakhouses. Make sure you bring enough cash or that credit card that you never used. If you dont get ready to wash those dishes with your hot date 😅

2022-01-20We went here to celebrate my nieces birthday. She had been here before. It was my first time dining here and most likely the last. When I called to make the reservation, the woman who answered the phone was very quick to stress that there was a strictly enforced dress code because it is a fine dining establishment. I didnt have a problem with that and thanked her for help with the reservation. We arrived a few minutes late but called to let them know ahead of time. When we got there, there was no parking and there was a long line for valet. It was also 11 degrees outside. When we finally got inside the restaurant, the hostesses greeted us but one in particular seemed annoyed, which I just shrugged off because who knows what her day was like. We were seated at a table in between two other tables, towards the very front of the restaurant which also is in front of the bar. To our left was a table of women that were completely inebriated. To our right were four girls in jeans dancing around. Their mother who was on a video call with her boyfriend completely oblivious to everything going on. I was flabbergasted and could not believe this was a fine dining establishment. If the entrees were not $50 a pop, I might have been more tolerant but alas, this was not your local Applebees. So, I decided to give it a shot and ask the hostess if they could move us. I asked nicely and she said that because we were not on time, she would not. So, I said to her, are we being punished for something we had no control of?? We did call as soon as we knew we would not be on time. She was firm. The answer was no. I decided that this was not going to work and we needed to leave. Just as I returned to my table, the manager walked by and asked me if everything was ok. I told her what happened and she told me she would move us. A few minutes later, we were moved to the front of the restaurant. As I walked through, I noticed that many people were dressed in tee shirts and jeans. So, why exactly did they bust my chops about enforcing their dress code? Did the other patrons get the same warning? Who knows! So, we ordered dinner. They brought out a bread basket that consisted of 3 whopping pieces of brown bread with raisins. It was actually fairly good. There was also a large matzo type cracker in the basket which no one ate. They didnt bring out anymore because they said they ran out even though we could see them bringing more to other tables.I ordered the clam chowder. It was ok but had a lot of potatoes and no sign of clams. It wasnt bad but nothing worth ordering again. For the main entree, we all ordered filet mignon. It was not bad but not the best I have had. It was mediocre, at best. Part of it was well seasoned by the other half of it for some reason had a gamey taste. We also ordered for the table, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The creamed spinach had a lot of garlic in it. I didnt mind but if you dont process garlic well, this is not a good choice. The mashed potatoes were over mixed to the point where they were glutonous. I didnt care for them at all.For dessert, the waiter brought out two mini cakes, one was the flourless torte and the other a mini creme brulee with the words happy birthday spelled out in chocolate. They also left a card at the table when we got the with a cute birthday wish that was hand signed. I thought that was nice. Bottom line, for the prices they charge, it was not worth it. This place is basically an overpriced Applebees. I will not come here again. I also didnt appreciate the snotty hostesss attitude. I did appreciate the excellent waiter we had who was tipped handsomely. The manager was a doll, too. She really deserves a raise! I gave this place a 3 star review because of the disappointment in service from the snotty hostess, the spiel about the dress code which evidently is not adhered to and lastly because they are overpriced for mediocre food.

2021-09-28Celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here. There was a nice hand written card at the table for us and some heart confetti sprinkled around. We had a nice meal. She had the special which was a cowboy veal chop and I had the bone in ribeye cooked perfectly rare. The sent over a nice dessert for our anniversary. We truly appreciate the good food, great service and the extra touches that made the evening special.

2022-03-27I have been a fan for years of Capital Grille top notch steakhouse. I usually eat in the NYC locations but I have Garden City a try I was not disappointed. The bone in rib-eye is ridiculous one the best I have ever eaten. I love how they can cook at medium rare plus, the steak was perfect. The appetizers, deserts were all solid. Highly recommend!
