The Capitol in other cities:
I have been at the building for almost 2 years. When I first got here, it was in the midst of some construction and quite noisy. Despite these issues, I must say that the staff continued to have such a positive can do attitude and worked with the residents, that it made the building a great place to be. Now all the construction is behind us and the building is a wonderful place to be. The rooftop is spectacular. Gorgeous views. The fitness center is wonderful. The cellar is great. But most importantly, the people who work in the building... They are responsive, accommodating, friendly, and always have a can do attitude. Erin is wonderful. They should clone her! Love Luis welcome home. Steve, Al and Max super friendly. Roberto is outstanding, always enjoy our chats. So many others... It is a great place to live.
I had a fantastic experience with the leasing team, particularly Erin Hoffman who went out of her way to make my move as easy and comfortable as possible. We had a complicated situation but the teams generous and accommodating approach made it all work out in the end!
Theres a reason why we have lived here for 11 years. Not only has the building looked better than ever after a stunning renovation, but the staff is also the nicest group of people youll ever meet. They clearly invest a lot in their team, as almost all of the doormen and porters have been here for over a decade. Beyond that, the Management team is awesome---and Kelly, Erin, and Maura ensure that your experience at the Capitol is always satisfying.
When I first moved into this building there were many problems, most notably an elevator system that was woefully inadequate and which resulted in waits of up to 25 minutes. However, the elevators have now been modernized and this is no longer a severe problem. There may be one too few elevators of a building of this size, but overall the system is now working. The renovations of the past two years have resulted in some very attractive facilities. The work is ongoing, but this is now a modernized building that can compete with the others in the neighborhood. And the public and party spaces, in particular, are outstanding. The fitness center has everything one needs.Construction of the apartments themselves is excellent. I cannot hear my neighbors, although I can hear noises from the hallway when I am standing near the front door. The staff is friendly and attentive. I will miss living here, but I am relocating for a job out of state.
This building and team deserves 10 stars! I absolutely love living at The Capitol. Everyone has been exceptional while facing a very difficult year with the pandemic. I had a virtual tour with Erin (who is the best!) before deciding to place an application last Summer and I am so happy I did! After living in several luxury buildings in the area, I can confidently say The Capitol is the BEST building in Chelsea NoMad. The service, location, amenities, and quality of the finishes is excellent and the team is always spoiling us with treats. There was an adorable welcome kit with snacks, mini bubbly, water, paper towels, TP, dish soap, laundry detergent, Molton Brown soap, shampoo/conditioner and tons of swag like an umbrella and mug with a customized note in my apt on move-in day. Having all of these essentials on moving day put a smile on my face and made my move feel less stressful :)The team is always finding a reason to celebrate residents at The Capitol with creative treats like hot cocoa and marshmallows on a cold day, coffee and breakfast from local vendors, cocktail making kits, holiday boxes, Valentines Day treats, puppy appreciation, planting kits etc. Everyone in the LEASING & MANAGEMENT Office is very friendly and always makes time to help. They go over the top to make sure you have a great experience and these personal touches certainly stand out!1. SERVICE - The Porters & Service Techs work so hard to keep the building spotless and take extra precautions for Covid. Hallways, trash rooms, laundry room and common areas are cleaned daily and there are hand sanitizer stations. You can enter a service request conveniently from their app (where you can also pay your rent) and a team member usually responds within an hour or same day. Constantine, Sebastian, and the rest of the team are all great and very accommodating. I am so grateful to feel so taken care of here!2. CONCIERGE - Everyone at the front desk is nothing short of amazing! Both overnight and daytime! They know all residents by name and make you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. Shout out to Eduardo, Steve, Louis and overnight Willson for all that you do! Also Al at the on-site VALET is phenomenal!2. AMENITIES Galore - Head up to the rooftop where youre transported to a secret garden with lavish landscaping and panoramic views of the Empire State Building and Hudson River. There are 2 grills and the views of the sunset are unreal. There are 2 very large LOUNGES where you can WFH outside of your apartment. Theres also a kitchen, games and a screening area. There is a PATIO on the Club Level and a DOG RUN. The building is very dog friendly with lots of adorable fur babies. Theres even a dog washing station. The GYM is surrounded by windows and has everything you need from cable machines, free -weights, PELOTON bikes, stair-master, ellipticals, treads, squat rack, kettle bells, plyo boxes and more all separated by plexi glass screens. The amenities are as nice as the photos online.LOCATION: You cannot beat this location within minutes of almost every subway line and walkable to tons of shops on 5th Ave., Union Square, Herald SQ, etc. Steps from every grocery/convenience store (Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Fairway, K-Town, Eataly, Bed Bath, Harmon Values, CVS, Duane Reade, etc.). Right across from the Flower District and a block from Madison Sq. Park. If you run or bike, the Hudson River path is a short jog away. A plethora of trendy restaurants and bars to explore in the area as well.FINISHES - I love that I have a full kitchen in a sunny studio with a 5 burner gas stove, huge full-size fridge with an ice maker, large sink, dishwasher, and microwave surrounded by decent counter space and plenty of cabinets. The A-line floor plan fits a Queen size bed, sectional, dresser, credenza, and dining room table. Theres lots of storage in the bathroom and the marble floors and tiles in the shower make cleaning a breeze. The apartments come with quality sun shades and plank floors. AC/heat works works great as well! I
Moved into the building about a month ago and the process was so seamless. Everyone was incredibly helpful! From the day we first reached out to book a tour, they have gone above and beyond to make the touring, signing, moving process as easy as possible. The building itself is stunning and has amazing amenities. Highly recommend
I lived here for three years. The first 16 months were tough because there was a ton of construction and renovations being done. I certainly would not have recommended living there at that time. However, during the latter half of my time there, I couldnt imagine living anywhere else. The location is great. 26th street has TONS of great restaurants and bars. Its close to many subway stops and Penn Station. But most importantly, the staff there is AMAZING. The porters, doormen and office staff are super friendly and know pretty much all residents (and their dogs) by name. Even during the hard times, they tried to make things as easy as possible for residents. If you are considering living here, I would definitely encourage you to put it on the top of your list.
We love this building and our one bedroom apartment. Staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. The amenities are beautiful and well kept. The building does a great job to make sure we feel comfortable and at home. Apartment units are updated, with great appliances and lots of natural light (which we love!). We would highly recommend the Capitol Chelsea.
Despite the new lobby and amenity space, the renovation work continues to be disruptive and poorly managed. The brand new gym that was unveiled this winter after months of closure has now been cut to half its size, with equipment removed. The club floor is still in shambles. The elevators, after a year of renovation work causing woefully unreliable service, continue to break down with repairs taking more than a day, causing unbearable lines in the lobby, just to get to our apartments. The company decided to change the building address, causing weeks of disruption in mail delivery. Water service was shutdown on a weekday night with one days notice, and while service was expected to be restored by 6am, as of this writing (8:30am) it has still not been restored, while residents need to get ready to go to work. The brand new rooftop that was unveiled last year is now closed again for facade repairs, which make the apartments uninhabitable during the weekday while workers are drilling through brickwork and causing a huge amount of noise.Doormen are fantastic here and have done the best they can in a bad situation, but management continues to do a poor job of dealing with these situations, sending only apology emails after the fact but offering nothing in the way of resolution or compensation for these inconveniences.
The management team at The Capitol is fantastic, especially Erin Hoffman. During our four years at the Capitol she helped us out in so many ways; from helping us move to a larger apartment in the building to ensuring our twins’ first birthday party was a success, no matter what is was she was always there to help. In addition, she is very thoughtful and is proactive in addressing all the residents needs. If you need something taken care of, you just need to talk to Erin and it will get done. Even after we moved out of The Capitol down to Florida, she helped us locate a nearby Bozzuto building for my father so he would be closer to our family. We loved our time at The Capitol and Erin and the wonderful team she spearheads was a major part of it.
I am so thrilled to live at The Capitol; I really feel I lucked out on my first home in NYC!The Capitol is an incredibly well managed building where the kindness and professionalism of each and every member of staff contributes to a wonderful sense of community. Everyone from the doormen, porters, front desk staff, maintenance crew and the leasing/management team have gone out of their way to make me and my puppy Caoimhe feel welcome. In particular, the team and and my neighbors have been there for me in times of loneliness which is so unique but so important in these challenging times. The building amenities include a full excellent gym, a fun social dog run area, a luxurious dog bath and several stylish common areas that facilitate working from home, chill out time, small and larger parties are superb. The jewel in the crown; pardon the pun; is the incredible roof deck with 360 degree panoramic views of New York City; although the views from the oversized apartment unit windows are pretty spectacular in their own right. For a little boy who grew up on a farm in rural Ireland and fell in love with pictures of the Flatiron, moving to The Capitol and seeing the Flatiron from my bedroom window each morning makes waking up feel like a dream come true.

2022-01-10I love living at the Capitol! The building offers an amazing rooftop, great common space, and a large fitness room. 2022-03-14Wonderful apartment buildingMy wife and I moved in about 4 weeks ago now. Its been a terrific experience. We really enjoy the amenities more that we thought we work. Most notable of these have been the dog run, the dog washing station, and the club lounge. My wife used it to work from every day leading up to their office being ready. The maintenance staff is incredibly friendly, prompt, and professional and the building maintains a high level of cleanliness.Only a couple things for feedback- The dog run doesnt really need to lock electronically (IMO) - this part was removed for a few days recently and it made getting in and out a bit easier (not needing my keys).- Back door access - I take my dog behind the building into that garden area a few times a day. There is a door with a card reader back there but it doesnt seem to open. Having this accessible would be wonderful for direct access and even better at night once they close the access from the sidewalk.

2021-12-17I cannot say enough positive things about The Capitol management team. They are responsive, kind and efficient. My daughter, a recent college grad, moved in a few months ago and - due to her work schedule - I had to handle the move-in and Karla and her team went above and beyond to help make everything go smoothly. The building itself is great as are the amenities. Happy mom!!!

2021-05-05We lived in the Capitol for many years, and we highly recommend the building to any prospective tenants. They have redone the entire interior and entrance area to make it a modern, wonderful living experience. The rooftop is beautiful, the gym is large and clean, and the other amenities are top notch. Additionally and very importantly, the leasing office is very professional and easy to work with, and the doormen/maintenance team are personable and very responsive. We renewed our lease several times over. Also, rental payments are made through a simple website that also includes a community message board, and the building puts on several events aimed at bringing residents together and providing additional perks. Especially for a pet friendly building, and the great location, The Capitol is a great value for your money and a great experience overall.

2021-02-22I have had the most pleasant experience since moving into The Capitol almost a year ago. The friendly staff (front desk, valet, leasing office, and management team) goes above and beyond. They respond promptly to requests, and take pride in creating a great home for residents. The building is well maintained and has excellent amenities - gym, conference rooms, dog walk, laundry room, and communal rooftop with BBQ grills and a 360-degree view of the city. The apartment itself has great views, is comfortable and well-fitted. The location is perfect for getting around the city, and conveniently close to major stores and subways.

2021-02-19Moved into the capitol earlier this month and could not be more happy with our decision. The building is well maintained and has great amenities (rooftop view, gym, lounge area). The apartment itself has great views and was perfect size for two of us. During move-in/lease signing the sales team and building staff were incredibly accommodating and made the process very smooth; and worth noting that they are just as accommodating/friendly as current residents. As a bonus, the area has just about every store/restaurant one could need and convenient access to subway/trains/etc. Would recommend to anyone looking in the area.

2020-11-09We had a phenomenal experience with the Capitols leasing office, and with Sam in particular. Hard to imagine a more seamless leasing process -- highly responsive in addressing questions with a great attitude. We have been delighted with our apartment and building so far. Highly recommend.
