Our daughter had her wedding reception at The Columns on Saturday and everything was perfect. We had about 117 guests and the service was excellent. If you are looking for an elegant, affordable wedding venue consider The Columns. The staff is very professional and attentive to their guests. We heard nothing but compliments about the food, the outdoor patio and the overall experience. They really pay attention to detail and leave you nothing to worry about.

Wonderful event and great grounds, the food was good and the drinks were well made. We had an amazing time and my friends wedding reception was a great time for everyone there. I would suggest this place to anyone looking to have a great party! I have been to a lot of banquet hall in my day and this was most definitely one of the better ones!
Even though there was a staffing shortage our breakfasts came out hot and delicious. And our server was very friendly and always there with coffee refills. Hopefully they will bring back the breakfast buffet on sundays. It was fabulous. Guess well have to wait until Covid is better controlled.
So impressed with this venue! I’ve attended a wedding and baby shower at the columns and was very pleased. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. I’d definitely consider this venue for an event of my own!
Just hosted a bridal shower for my soon to be daughter-in-law and the day was absolutely perfect! Jessica and the staff were very accommodating, and everything was absolutely beautiful. Our guests are still talking about the food and how great that was! Well definitely recommend them to anybody looking for a venue!

Love this place. Been here for a couple events and loved it every time. Always professional and friendly. Spoke with Jessica the banquet manager about my daughters shower and she was really easy to work with. If you book anything with them you know youre in good hands.

Here for funeral Breakfast. As always this place does it right and everyone was friendly. Never had a bad experience here. Update 10.2.2021. Juat was here attending the 4th wedding in 3 years here. This place is top notch. Great food and the service once again was impeccable. Awesome staff.
The facility and outdoor area are beautiful. I attended an event that had a breakfast buffet with many options and everything was delicious. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

Sunday 11/11/18. I was at a baby shower with about 60 other people. Two people were assigned to service the room. Both were very good. From pouring the coffee to replenishing the buffet to serving the cake and ice cream, they both were so perfect. There were elderly and handicapped people and even two toddlers. All were served with style and grace. Food was tasty too. Highly recommend.

Attended a bridal shower. Beautiful room, very neutral coloring and well appointed decorations. Any color would work here if you have a theme. Food was excellent and plenty. Chicken and beef were perfection and side choices were varied. I tried a little of each and all were very tasty. Serving staff were very attentive and always available and helpful. Definitely check out the facilities if you are in need of an event site.
Had a bridal shower this last weekend in one of the rooms at the Columns. This place is beautiful. The staff that were working the event were very polite and efficient, the actual venue itself is so bright and open!There were multiple events happening in the venue but we were not bothered at all, couldnt hear through the walls or doors which was great.We had brunch which included scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, muffins, and cake -- alongside mimosas and a selection of other juices. The food was pretty good, no complaints there!Obviously Im going to mention the bathroom - cause it was quite impressive. It had automatic lights, a nice full mirror and a chandelier. It was also very clean like the rest of the venue!I havent been to many banquet halls since I moved here but if I ever had a reason to rent one Id look into Columns for sure.
It certainly helped that my niece used to work there, her husband through a surprise birthday as usual the food was excellent and plenty of it,staff outstanding,,Had a real good time
Went there to celebrate a friends Wedding. What an amazing venue. Absolutely breath taking. Heidi was spot on and everything flowed so well. The whole staff was a amazing. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Not the typical buffet styled food. I am in debt to Richie for coming to my aid several times.Thank you all for not just making this an evening to remember but a venue to remember.
We had our wedding at The Columns this past July and everything was amazing. The staff is extremely pleasant, attentive, and professional. Heidi, Candice, and Ron were all so great to work with and they really help you make your day run as smooth as possible. The venue itself is simply beautiful and the outdoor patio is a great cocktail hour spot! The food was the best banquet food we have ever had and our guest couldnt stop raving about it! The serving/waiting staff was professional and very attentive throughout the whole night. We HIGHLY recommend The Columns to everyone for any event/banquet they have!

I had my bridal shower at The Columns yesterday and it was perfect. The staff was so accommodating with needing to postpone twice during COVID. They were always so responsive and empathetic to a difficult situation.When we arrived the room was already set up exactly as I had requested and the staff was so attentive to me and my guests throughout the event. The food was also delicious. They even boxed up some food for my fiancé to take home when he arrived at the end to help take our gifts home.I cant say enough good things about The Columns and would highly recommend them for an event as small as a 15 person party or as big as a wedding.

We recently had our daughters wedding at The Columns and we cant say enough as to how impressive and wonderful the experience was. The work that the Wedding coordinators Heidi, Reina, and Ron provided was the epitome of the perfect team seeing this all through to perfection. Their guidence and calm manner helped so much during a fast paced time. We had 150 people and the setting outside for the ceremony and fantastic cocktail hour along with the stunning reception room could not have been more impressive to all who attended. The place is absolutely gorgeous in an old school and traditional way and exuded grace and elegance throughout. The staff was attentive and prompt and the food was the best we have ever tasted at any wedding we have been to. We were so proud to be where we were for this once in a lifetime moment. What a showcase The Columns was for the most important and memorable day for all of us. We are eternally grateful for them for providing the perfect wedding day! Thank you !
We had our wedding here 2 weeks ago. The venue is magnificent, the staff was exceptionally attentive, the food was delicious, the service was fantastic, the setup was perfect, and the details were precise. It could not have gone any better. This place is world-class and truly a local gem. Would highly recommend to everyone for any event.
Attended a wedding on 21 June 2019. The food was great and the wait staff was excellent. Ron the banquet manager made sure that everyone was satisfied and had a great time when he went to every table to check on everything.
I couldnt believe I was at Altons on Transit road. They did a phenomenal job with their patio and the wedding venue was really nice and one of the best sitdown wedding dinners Ive had in a while. Im really impressed. I hope Im able to attend more events in the future. PS - we are big fans of the Alton restaurants too, great family atmosphere and food. Breakfast with Santa is pretty good too.

Beautiful venue complete with chandeliers, oversize fireplaces, sweeping staircases and old charm elegance. The food at our luncheon was very good and staff was courteous and efficient. I would definitely consider The Columns for future needs.
The entire staff was incredibly professional, curteous, paid great attention to details and made my daughter completely happy about her wedding and reception. When you impress both my wife and daughter and they come home with only praise and smiles youve earned your awesome reputation and my thanks too. The food was magnificent and plentiful. The Columns does not skimp on any aspect of their services!
Was here for a wedding. It is very nice and clean. The food and appetizers wore the best. It has multiple out side gas fire pits a restaurant and a bar. Might stop in the next time we are in the area to give the restaurant a try.

Was in the bridal party that had their wedding here over the weekend and it could not have gone any smoother. The staff was all wonderful and ready to do anything we asked of them with a smile. The food was all delicious and cooked perfectly. Do yourself a favor and get the filet mignon, it is to die for.
Our organization, the Order of the Eastern Star, had its Christmas and Holiday luncheon here this past weekend. The decorations were GORGEOUS! The event manager was VERY attentive and the staff was VERY nice and also VERY attentive to our needs. Our selections were served buffet style and were cool and crisp or hot and tasty as expected and nothing was over or under seasoned. We have already booked our date for next year, maybe I should have said that first, it says much about our wonderful day.

The Columns was the best venue for my wedding. They truly went above and behind with every detail possible. The food was excellent, the venue beautiful, and Heidi was wonderful to work with.

Lesson learned - DO NOT tell the truth! When we went to pay our final bill, we were charged for guest that did not show AND they would not box up that food that was left so we could take it home. The room was not ready when we got there. They did not have enough glasses out for the punch (yet they had our head count) - needed to track down a server to get more glasses. The food was average at best. And the real kicker - Heidi the banquet manager brought other customers through the room while we were ending our baby shower! Complete disregard for our shower and guests!
Absolutely a 10 out of 10 overall rating in every aspect! I am the proud father of the Beautiful Bride! On October 20, 2017, my daughter Melanie married Eric Zenicki and the reception was held at The Columns Banquet room. Many months went into the planning of her special day, and Special it became! The day before the wedding, we took all the decorations, centerpieces, etc., to the Columns where we met with Heidi Conschafter and Candice. We had explained to them how we wanted everything set up. I even gave them pictures along with instructions for setting up various displays. When we arrived at the Columns the next day, about 45 minutes before the start of the reception, my wife and I were Absolutely Amazed at how Everything was in place just as we requested it to be! Every centerpiece, which was a decorated lantern that was set on top of a 12 x 2 round wood slab, was placed perfectly centered on each of the 16 tables! They even made sure that each battery candle in each lantern was turned on! Our seating label display consisted of 85 small pumpkins and labels with the Guest name and table number tied to each stem. Each guest would take the pumpkin with their name on it, as a favor, and proceed to their assigned table. The Columns staff placed the pumpkins on the display shelves in alphabetical order for an easier find! Every guest made it a point to let my wife and I know just how Absolutely Beautiful everything was! The food was Absolutely Delicious and the service was Over the Top Outstanding! To Heidi, Candice and the entire Columns staff, we Thank You again for your Extreme Professionalism in making Melanie and Erics Special Day a Most Memorable One! ... We had our youngest daughter s wedding reception there five years ago and are other daughters wedding and reception will be there in October 2022. We also had a baby Shower there just last week. We also had 2 funeral breakfasts there. Service was very good

2021-08-24Finally got to have an event here! COVID prevented us from having a bridal shower here (although the staff was incredible with switching dates to try to make it work, a shut down prevented us from having it here)Our baby shower however was amazing! We felt the love and attention from the staff, super easy to work with, plenty of meal options. They let us set up an hour early and gave us plenty of time after to take down and get cleaned up. Would recommend!

2022-01-25I recently attended an alumni dinner at the Columns. As always we had 3 choices of meals to pick from-selections made by our dinner committee. Our meals included everything from soup to salad, to entree and dessert. Everyone who attended the dinner whether they had chosen chicken, pork or salmon made the same comments about their meal. They all said it was one on the best meals theyve had!! Thank you to the friendly staff and servers who helped make our first get-together of the year a meal to remember.

2022-06-21All our guest have commented on how beautiful the property is both indoor and outdoor. The food was excellent. The vegan entree of cauliflower steak and rice was great. The outdoor cocktail hour was amazing. Many guests said one of the best weddings they’ve ever attended.

2021-10-21Ive been a wedding guest at a lot of venues. The Columns was great! The appetizers were great, the food was good, the servers were friendly and accommodating, the room was beautiful and there were plenty of places for photos.

2022-04-04Jessica and Amanda were AMAZING to work with. I had crazy visions and ideas that I requested but they didn’t hesitate and had me walk through everything I dreamed of. They delivered everything and more in the set up and throughout the whole process. I will continue to use the columns for all of my events and can’t wait to work with them again!

2020-08-19I had my bridal shower at The Columns last weekend, and I cannot say enough good things about them! Originally, they had the best shower package we could find in the area (coming from an event planner). It included so much including mimosa and punch, gorgeous centerpieces, and more! When covid came, we had no idea if we would even be able to host the shower. The Columns was helpful throughout the entire time and dealt with everything better than we could have imagined. They ultimately said no matter what we wanted to do was fine even if we wanted to cancel and get our money back. They put us in a larger room, spread the tables out how we wanted, and more! People are still raving about the food and how it was one of the most beautiful venues theyve seen, and a few of my guests even said they want to get married there one day! Thank you so much for everything you guys did for us and made this stressful time that much easier. Ill recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for any type of event venue!
