I wasted many weeks unemployed, going through the process of getting a job at Loretto, The Commons on Saint Anthony street. After losing a best friend and not being in contact for a couple days, Debbie from HR decided that I did not deserve the job in which I had been offered and officially accepted. They made a very low point of my life crash down even lower, and would not even have the decency to tell me over the phone. She texted me and when I asked for a reason why I could no longer work for the company, she didn’t bother to answer. Unacceptable and unprofessional. I feel bad for the people that work there that seek any help from HR. I was SO excited to begin working there and they really put a bad reputation forth. I will continue posting this on every review site possible. Thanks, Michaela G.

Former employee. The (now retired) head of human resources purposely and intentionally withheld my medical records from me because I found another job closer to home with MUCH better pay. I was also told my pay would be 15.50 an hour and was getting paid 12.50, also, when I tried to get my information needed to start my new job, the same woman told me she was withholding my information because I left the company. The care (or lack thereof) I witnessed while there was insane, and a lot of staff complain about their jobs and are very rough with the residents and very callous, with little to no attention to their wants and needs, both physically and emotionally. There are some nurses who are very kind and good at what they do, but the majority of them definitely should not have a license to be a nurse. Overall, so so disappointed and definitely will not be admitting any of my family members there, ever.

It a sad place to leave your loved ones! Because of under staff and some workers that just dont care about people, should not take on more then they can take care of!

There staff is unacceptable. They have no care for anyone in there. They mistreated my grandmother. They gave her medicine she was allergic too made her not eat or drink due to negligence because she did not have the care she needed they left her to fall and put her on comfort care with out notified to family. Seen her just before Christmas and she was fine. No phones in there room to contact and talk to her. She passed 3 weeks after seeing her. When calling every day they say she is fine x-rays fine. Vitals are fine. Passing in 3 weeks of seeing her fine.. she definitely was not fine. This place needs to be investigated and shut down.

I recently spent about 2 1/2 months at The Commons. In past years I had heard many good things about the place and virtually nothing bad. I found the place to be clean and neat. Those working housekeeping were very friendly and very thorough. I originally went to rehab my foot from three broken bones. I found some of the staff to be warm, wonderful, and caring. Unfortunately I found more that were just not interested an answering bells. Twice my roommate fell and was unable to get up. Twice I rang the bells and waited with my roommate for someone to come. We could both hear staff sitting around the desk talking and laughing, but it was about 20 minutes before someone came. Then they looked at me and said why didnt I yell. I said that I didnt want to scare my roommate. I was afraid if I were screaming and making it seem that bad things were happening, that my roommate would pick up on the urgency and get scared. I also told them that I did not think screaming would have done much, since some residents screamed every night. I spent the first part of my stay on the rehab floor and most was good. The food leaves a lot to be desired. After several days of not eating much of the tray, someone from food service came up and I told them that there were things I should not eat. They were good about giving me a list of things I could order for any meal. That was wonderful. I had regular rehab for my injury and found everyone in the therapy unit to be knowledgeable and willing. I would have liked to have more PT than I did have. But then everything changed. I had a positive covid test and was removed from the rehab floor and sent to the covid floor. They seized my belongings and put them in storage. Jillian, my social worker did get me a TV, which are provided on the unit I was on. I really appreciated that. Later she was able to get my computer for me. Those things allowed me to be able to communicate with the world again. Days went faster. The biggest problem about being moved was that I did not get PT for almost ten days. That is what I was there for. The food on this unit was not good. There were no choices. Everything was cold. All vegetables could have been sold as Gerber Stage One baby food. I would ask for the items that the director of food service had said were there for any meal. These were not available to me on the 7th floor. I was there ten days, and signed out against medical advice. In the ten days I was there I had oatmeal for breakfast and around 4 I would eat the bowl of Frosted Flakes. Not what one would call a balanced diet. I simply could not eat the other stuff. Occasional there was fruit or a desert that I ate. No one came to see why the dinner itself was not eaten in ten out of ten days. I drank the milk. diet soda, and hot tea. It seemed strange that no one noticed that I simply didnt eat. I had wet the bed one night, after a 45 minute wait, someone finally came. They took the wet sheets, I asked for another gown, she threw it across the floor to me and announced she didnt have time to put sheets on. So I patiently waited for four hours for the shift to change, lying on the rubberized mattress. When someone came after shift change, I finally got sheets. This place needs more staff. And it needs to have staff that can put the patient first. Too many of the employees feel they do not need to answer bells quickly. Some day, someone is going to pass away waiting for their bell to be answered. And, as a note, even though I was ushered off to the covid unit and did not get PT, I never had as much as a temperature. I sat on that unit for ten days, doing virtually nothing. Came home and did another ten day quarantine from being on that unit. No temperature or anything else. I had asked to have a second test. told no. There are a lot of false positives. Looks like I may have been one of them. All and all, I hope I never have to go back there.

Everyone is compassionate and caring. That includes the person who cleans your room. The food is excellent and the dietitian sits with you to go over what is available to you.

Seem to be nice staff at the daycare but the director at daycare one day calls and individual in and for a whole minute just wouldnt stop talking finally the individual told them they stop the individual told the lady they had to leave it seemed they wanted this patient 2 be driven there every day 4 PT treatment and then the director tell this individual had to do it for Loretta. This didnt make too much sense to a vet or family and friends that the individual told. They started then pulling up the nursing home and wondering why that person didnt come back became a bit of a spam. The two stars off of the individual staff members not management which degraded reputation that Loretto had until what time.

If you think this looks like a nice place from the lobby. Go up to the hallway along the patients rooms and smell the place. They dont hire enough enough people to even provide the basic service of cleaning up patients after they soil themselves. Its not the employees fault, most are terrific, they are just overworked.

I was a security guard working the front desk for over 2 1/2 years and was terminated for lies and BS. The Commons is a great facility, unfortunately staffed by kids that have little or no idea what they are doing.

The staff have a very difficult job! Ive found that the nicer I am to them the nicer they are to my mom! I also know that my mother appreciates their help and care- likewise, it is easier for the staff to appreciate her!
