The Copper Still in other cities:
Great food and friendly staff. I recommend ordering the chicken lemon sandwich. The only thing I didnt like was the size of the pulled pork sandwich, it was a little small but still very good taste wise. The staff is very helpful and the man behind the bar keeps smiling when you look at him or ask him something.
I’m not one to ever write reviews but never in my life have I experienced worse management. A group of my friends and I went to The Copper Still for brunch today and saw on the menu that they serve unlimited bloody mary’s or mimosas for a flat rate price of $25. We thought that was reasonable so my friend ordered the mimosas and our waitress asked how many cups we’d be needing. We get our food (which was mediocre) and have a nice brunch together. Come time to pay, our waitress brings us the bill and to our surprise we’ve been charged $175 for the drinks alone. Though the price seemed a bit low, not anywhere on the menu did they clarify that the rate was per person, nor did our waitress make that transparent. If we had known this was the case we would have never ordered the drinks. We each only drank about a glass- making a single drink $25. When we asked our waitress about this, she became annoyed and begrudgingly said she’ll get her manager. The manager came over and from the get-go was extremely condescending towards our table of 7 young women. He spoke to us in an extremely patronizing way, asking “Did you REALLY think the price would be that low?Come on now”. We explained how not anywhere on any menu was it stated that the rate was per person nor did our waitress explain this to us. Instead of listening to our advice about being more transparent with customers, he continued to patronize us. He said that there was “no way” he would be taking over $100 worth of drinks off of the bill- something we never asked him to do in the first place. We explained that our plan wasn’t to jip him out of money but rather tell him how misleading not only the menu, but his staff were. He continued to talk down to us as if we were children, and when I confronted him and told him how disrespectful he was being, instead of apologizing, he just denied acting in such a way. He took off two of the charges (still equating to over $100) saying that was the best he could do. Even if the price was “too good to be true”, a restaurant should be transparent to their patrons about the money they’re spending. Prices aside, the manager behaved awfully towards us. I’m not upset so much about how much I had to pay but rather the way I was spoken to. I have never felt so disrespected at any restaurant or other establishment. I still am dumbfounded thinking about the way he spoke to my friends and I. As a manager, he should know better. I will never be returning. I live in the area and I’m going to be spreading the word about just how incredibly rude the manager of this establishment is and discourage them from going as well. I hope they can learn some transparency but more importantly how to treat customers with some respect- especially women.
Pretty average food honestly. Burger - no seasoning and comes without fries which just seems a little inconvenient. Poutine - bit of an un-fresh taste, hard to point out exactly what but just a little stale. Just a bit of a disappointing experience. Drinks were also ok, nothing amazing about them.
The service was truly lackluster: we had to wait for the waitress for 20 mins after seating, and for another hour to get the food. It was not really that busy (just the outside seating, all the inside tables were empty). The food was standard pub food, definitely not up to 4.5 average rating that maps report this restaurant has
Nice spot for HH with coworkers or meeting friends after work. The outdoor seating is very spacious.Usually I will stick to the same drink unless I dont like it, and so Ive only had one thing here and that is the Tiger Rose. At $11 ($10 hh), its a steal. If you like sparkling wine and cocktails that are tasty but not overly fruity or strong, this one is for you.My friend got the Paloma, which he also stuck to, so I assume it did its job. Be warned though: it is a very pink drink! For a hot second we thought the waitress swapped our drinks because the Tiger Rose was yellow/gold and the Paloma was pink, but it was right.
Went for brunch a few weekends ago at the Chelsea location with friends and had an incredible time. Beautiful, intimate space with tables, booths, and bar seating. Delicious food and great selections for the bottomless brunch option as well. We ordered chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict, omelettes, and crab cakes, and the plates were perfect for passing and sharing. Our server was Savannah and she was an absolute delight - so friendly and attentive and offered great recommendations for food and drinks. I realized how long its been since Ive had service like this, so this was really special for me. I HIGHLY recommend Copper Still!
What started off as a pleasent experience very quickly turned south due to the bartenders attitude. The atmosphere is nice and the place is lovely and what should have been 5 Stars has now turned into a 1 star and a place I will never return to or recommend. The Irish bartenders were completely unprofessional, drinking constantly behind the bar and being extremely rude to me after I finished my first drink. The bartended with the tattoos in particular was extremely aggressive and told me I was too drunk and had to leave even though I had only consumed 2 single vodka and mixers. One of which was complimentary due to him pouring me the wrong drink. I had left a $40 tip and quickly took it all back after his attitude to me. As an Irish person myself its embarrassing for me to experience this behavior, I go to enough bars and restaurants globally to know that its all about service at the end of the day and this was just embarrassing. Stop drinking while working and maybe you wont be so quick to make wrong decisions. Ill be letting all my new york friends about this experience.
Bartender was very good, always asking if the was something we needed. The hostess was very helpful especially on such a busy day for them. Waiters on the other hand, not so much. We didnt even know who our waiter was, they all kinda took turns getting to us when they felt like it. When I looked around I saw they were talking amongst themselves.Food was otherwise good and they have a decent whiskey list which is a big plus for me personally. All in all, The Copper Still is pretty good, with a seemingly laid back atmosphere. Good for brunch. Although I probably wouldnt go back, as they are a bit more on the expensive side, and I can definitely find cheaper drinks elsewhere.TL;DR: Bartender and hostess were very good, waitstaff could use a bit of work, food and drink where good. Expensive.
This was my first visit to the bar. The waiter was some what friendly. The night life in the city is so different now because of the Pandemic. Im sure this establishment was amazing, but now, not so much. I felt bad for there was only one person that I can see working. He did his best, all things considered. Oh, they do not serve Heineken.
Great place, a good neighborhood bar. Great selection of beer and spirit. Food option is also good. Been here a few times and always with a part of 2,+ and always been able to get the table or bar spot immediately. Burger, guac, fish and chips, and pasta were really good!
A refreshing addition to Chelsea. Extremely spacious, both the bar and restaurant space. Irish immigrant owned and operated, so the whiskey selection is high quality and plentiful. Lots of refreshing cocktails and the food is delicious. Great for a proper dinner of just bar food.
We were looking for a place to eat before an 8 PM curtain and happened upon The Copper Still. The place looked clean, airy and inviting so we decided to give it a try. It quickly became apparent that this establishment was focused on selling pricey single-malt liquor and not much else. The glass of Riesling I asked for was definitely a Sauvignon Blanc and my wifes Amaretto Sour came in a stem glass without ice. As they do not offer bread or chips to snack on while waiting for your meal, we ordered their large pretzel, which was warm and good and served with excellent mustard. My wife ordered a spicy pulled-pork over vermicelli which was spicy as advertised but had so little meat it could have made it to the vegetarian section of the menu. My fish and chips with cole slaw and home-made tartar sauce was agreeably not greasy but somehow managed to be entirely flavor-free. Honestly, the water had more taste. The staff were pleasant but not well-trained (the expediter identified my plate as chicken when it was served) and seemed to get in one anothers way all evening. Finally, although the place was not overly crowded, something about the acoustics made for a very loud, though never jolly, atmosphere. I guess wed sum up the experience as not terrible.

2022-08-22Easily one of the best happy hour spots in the city. The deals are phenomenal and the cocktails are delicious. We ended up going here with some work buddies and tried just about everything on the happy hour menu. It was was great but I think the pork sliders were my favorite. The Brussels sprouts were top notch as well. They have a decent beer selection with a few on the happy hour menu. I’ll be back for sure.

2022-03-27Me and my friends were looking for a brunch spot in the city and decided to come here! It was $25 per person for bottomless which was such a great deal! Our server was so friendly and welcoming. The service was fast and our drinks were always full through our bottomless. The food didn’t disappoint as well. Overall it was a 10/10, perfect for a calm or boozy brunch!

2021-09-09We were here for a quick dinner, and I really wanted to like this place a bit more. Lots of street side seating and quick service were promising, and it definitely has its highlights. The tater tot poutine is exactly as you’d hope for - saucy, messy and absolutely delicious. If you’re here for one thing only, make sure it’s this. We were not disappointed. The other dishes we ordered, however, were unfortunately lacking in flavour or just plain boring. Not bad, mind you, but for these prices in this area, the competition is too strong not to try harder. The drinks were acceptable, though also unexceptional. Overall we had a fine experience, and the service was great, but there are too many better options around NYC.

2022-06-29If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sliders. They sent them to me completely burnt, then tried to explain to me condescendingly that fried chicken is hard 🙄 I couldn’t even bite through the sandwich I had to struggle just to tear a piece off cause I wanted to taste it just to make sure I wasn’t being unreasonable. Completely inedible. A fellow patron saw my look of disgust when I bit into the chicken and she got the attention of the guys behind the bar, he proceeded to yell out to the server go see what “she” wants in front of the whole restaurant.

2022-09-17Really wanted to like the food. Burger looked good but had zero seasoning and lacked flavor. The bottom bun was so soaked making it almost inedible. Service was pleasant. May give the place another try for drinks.

2021-07-19Perfect place for a low-key brunch. We came here for the bottomless special and were impressed with the quality and value. Each entree comes with coffee or tea included. Bottomless option is for Bloody Mary or Mimosas, and they actually bring a carafe so you can serve yourself!Great place for large groups to enjoy a big brunch :)

2022-03-27I came here yesterday with a group of 10. Brunch was amazing, the staff was very accommodating! For the bottomless mimosa I told my server I was allergic to orange juice and to accommodate me they gave me my own pitcher with pineapple juice. No wonder this place is always packed during brunch, the service and prices are great! One of my favorite brunch spots yet, will definitely be coming back!

2022-07-31We always have such a brilliant time here! Most recently I came with 6 friends & a 1yr old to celebrate a birthday. 2 of my friends are in wheelchairs and the space is very accessible for them & there was a high chair for the baby. The staff were fantastic, super accommodating & friendly & the food & drink was great! Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be coming back here. Thank you Copper Still!

2022-05-08We sat outside under the umbrella. They were three of us. Service was good. I had chicken and waffles for the first time in my life. It was excellent. The waffles were more like a crepe, they were like the Dutch baby at Original Pancake House if you know what I mean. Delicious

2022-03-08The bartender was great and the Irish Whiskey Flight was good. Plus, its dark so your date will think you are better looking than you are. Win Win.
