Friendliest staff at any café I’ve been to (except Beets Café across the street, lol, they’re on the same level of friendly). Anything you order here is great quality, their coffee and teas are the real deal and the food is great! I enjoy the atmosphere, music and the fact I can sit down and get stuff done if I need to. Everything is reasonably priced.
Not very nice place to get coffee. They watch you when getting something. Will changes you different prices for the . Espresso. And if u add the milk want change u for getting it yourself. Had very bad very bad experience with them. As of June I can’t go back into the shop I was getting something that had to put milk in it . Very bad place to be the manger and some of the staff are ver rude. I Will be going back to Starbucks where they give u the respect u are do. Not a nice place to go if u are not paying for what they want u to pay for should they close Down I would not …….
Very good coffee, espresso and cold brew. Great pastries, nice beer selection for happy hour and a chill vibe overall. One of the first coffee shops in the neighborhood - the space is quintessential Brooklyn charm with reclaimed wood and mismatched chairs - crafted and selected by the owner. Try the Kitten Club coffee - local and incredible! There’s also a lovely outdoor space.
Thanks for a great cup of coffee girls! We need to support these great establishments in our communities, it was so nice to sit down and have a cup of coffee in a nice environment. Dont let these gems disappear! Treat yourself and go support this great local business.
This place is awesome! Just discovered it today and Ive been twice already -- once to get a chai latte and wrap, and again for beer and cocktails. Everyone is cool, kind, and friendly. Things are delicious, and the atmosphere is great. Open mic is about to start, and apparently it does karaoke some days! What a gem.
Great coffee shop and bar. The staff here are incredibly nice. Highly recommend this location to get out of the house if you need to get some work done. They have events in the evenings and now offer tacos.Their bar staff cook up new signature cocktails and are very knowledgeable if youre looking to try something different!
This Place is great, the coffee is Good!! The pastries are fresh and delish so nice for quick breakfast. Ample seating and lots of other fun activities like Karaoke and Poetry nights and so on but I do not recommend the breakfast burrito....it was a waste of money. I stopped because its on my street and I was rushing to the airport and running a little late but it was so gross...I just threw it out, and not eating until I got to Texas!
The minute I walked in I felt the wonderful vibe of this cafe. It’s very spacious and the music is great! I love the set up of the shop really neat. The wifi connection was fast. The pastry I ordered (Banana pecan muffin ) was delicious. Overall great experience. This is my new hangout spot.
I love the atmosphere and the fact they have weekly/monthly events like Open Mic and Comedy Night. The coffee is alright and the only food item Ive ever purchased was the original breakfast burrito which is decent if you want something quick. They dont have many good options. I usually stop in to get writing done and sometimes I just bring my own snack. The baristas are nice and helpful and the place is usually tidy, thought the bathroom can get a little rough.Overall, I love this spot because they stay open until midnight and they have a bar(though Ive never purchase a drink.) I appreciate it.
Love this being my neighborhood coffee shop. It isn’t too pretentious and still keeps a community feel. Friendly baristas, good coffee, yummy pastries! Even have donuts now by a local biz, Dopenut donuts which are so good. The outside space is great for covid and inside opens up to have a lot of air flow too.
Very good place, really good coffee and my bagel with lox was good. Only complaint would be the one customer that loudly talked on the phone and would switch between normal and speakerphone for the entire time I was there. Most people there looked like they were annoyed by him. Place itself and the employees were great though
The staff here are all very kind. I mainly grab the cold brew coffee, even on the cold days. But when its freezing or Im feeling a little under the weather, I get a hot peppermint tea. Its very soothing and hits the spot. There are a lot of tea choices, all the teas are whole leaf and hand measured into teabags. They seem to have a lot of weekly community events and open mic nights but I have never attended. This is hands down the best coffee in the area.
The Daily Press is more than just another Brooklyn coffee shop. The coffee is always excellent and their food selection is satisfying for all appetites! A great atmosphere to go on a date, get some work done, or just swing by to grab a coffee. Enjoy!***Stans breakfast burritos are on point and accurately reflect the western style breakfast!***
Nice arch windows make this place special, even though the coffee condiment station needs a redesign to be neater. The female barista who likes to check her phones during work hour makes bad coffee. The coffee bean is good enough to make tasty coffee, which we have had good ones. Barista is the essential for a good cafe, you can’t afford a bad one especially on the weekend morning. Pastry and service are good.
First time I went was at night for the bar with a group of friends. That was cool and I met some dope people.Second and third time Ive gone in the morning for a breakfast pastry. Each time the door was locked well after the opening time of 7am (I arrived at 7:10) and employees were inside and opened the door for me.As I ordered (on both days with both employees) I felt as though I was bothering them and like they didnt want to be there. I know its early in the morning but no smiles, have a nice day, nothing. Just in a rush to process my order so they can go back on their phones or back to conversing with an employee in another area of the store.Needless to say I wont be coming back a 4th time. #CustomerServiceStillMatters
This spot is cozy, close by to train, and plays cool music. The staff are nice and willing to accommodate you. This spot is great for meeting up with friends for coffee and if you want to chill. The only thing i didnt like was their coffee, sorry... (thus the reason for the 4 star) but everyone’s taste is different. Also had a crossaint sandwich that was pretty good and they will heat up for you per your request. But i highly recommend to anyone living in brownsville, bed-stuy and east new york area.. really cool spot!
Just went inside like a hour ago and I had a bad customer service the woman with glasses and black hair and she had braids was very rude while I was telling her my order she grilled me for no reason and the tone of her voice was very ignorant I get that sometimes we have bad moods but I was just a customer who simply comes here every week to get my day started .. please talk to your workers about customer service!!!!!! Thank u
Coffee is great location is wonderful but today I noticed something. I bought a coffee and my service was poor I sat down for a second to observe how others were being treated or was it just me ?......then I noticed a pattern with the white customers and then the black ones . The white customers received eye contact a smile and coffee was made with milk and other additives then I noticed with the black customers we were given the silent treatment until we requested for something like milk. My thing is 1.you dont know who is watching and observing2. Your in my neighborhood I should be treated with the same respect as others3.if your not happy serving coffee find something else to do dont ruin someones day because of your own personal demise4. I support mom and pop shops but thats why Starbucks and DD have customers you go there and at least get a good morning and a smile5.this post is not to cause a problem but to find a solution on how you can better serve your new community.6. Regular ice coffee should not be 5.00
$12 for a mostly tasteless (premade) breakfast burrito and a sparkling americano (espresso over seltzer) served by a surly barista. They were out of breakfast pastries by 11am on a Thursday, but that probably means theyre really good.On the plus side, there are lots of plugs, seating, wifi, and air conditioning. The older guy (Im assuming the owner) was really friendly. Ill be returning to see if I get better customer service.
It was a great experience stopping by Daily press today. I was looking for a near by coffee shop I could stop mid day to pick up some good coffee drinks and I believe I found it. Great location, with a great atmosphere and great employees. Look forward to coming back again.
Cute concept. Great products. Horrible morals. After continuing to complain about how many offenses a paparazzi shot of Britney Spears shaving her head over a time of duress with the note “Tip Me Baby One More Time,” the staff has shifted the blame on management as “they said it was fine.” I will not tip, and I will not stop until Daily Press discontinues this display of requesting fortune all the while showing another person’s misfortune. It’s a huge disregard for depression, drug abuse, society’s views of women, and a complete disregard for a patron’s voice. There are countless was to have a clever tip jar, and that. Ain’t. It. Continuing this behavior is disrespectful & keeps those of us that are undergoing depressions by ourselves from getting out of our own heads. This sets the neighborhood back rather than displaying progression towards a more inclusive environment. Please update your tip display accordingly. It doesn’t have to be this deep.
Update: My original review is a bit verbose, but a few months in, a lot of the kinks have been worked out. I come up here a lot for coffee and a place to work. Good wifi, friendly barristas, and supposedly beer coming soon (liquor license request posted at the door). What keeps this a four-star is simply a limited food selection--Im supposed to watch carbs so the pastries, delightful though they are, are a rare treat, and Im just not a big fan of breakfast tacos. Some kind of sandwich option would be fantastic. Also, the owner responded to me very kindly after my initial lukewarm review, and that was unexpected and encouraging. Im glad Ive given the place a chance and thats its doing well.Original Review: I want this place to succeed, I really do. Its five minutes from my apartment, has tons of space, nice and bright...but they have been open for about two months now and they just have not hit their stride. As others have noted, the staff is friendly. The coffee is ok...Ive stopped ordering cappuccinos because they come out lukewarm, and I paid $5 for a Vietnamese iced coffee that tasted like regular $3 iced coffee with milk (which I could add for myself for free). And lunch. I was so excited last week when I saw a sign up that they were offering a $10 lunch from Monday through Friday comprising one of four sandwiches, housemade potato chips, and some waffles (I presume small desertish ones). This was great because a) until then theyd only offered pastries, baked savory pies, and breakfast tacos, and b) if you live in this neighborhood, you know theres a great dearth of places to get lunch outside of a bodega or a Crown Chicken. (And by the way, usually by lunchtime the pastries have been picked over and there wasnt much left.) So last Friday I invited a friend to meet me here to work and have lunch...only when I got there at 1230, they told me their sandwich guy didnt come in TILL 2 PM. The sign that had been out on the counter all last week said Have lunch at Daily Press! Lunch doesnt begin TILL 2 PM???So, just to see, I went in today at 1 p.m. and asked about the sandwiches. Hes not in today, they said. When will he be in? I think hes here Tuesday through Sunday, was the reply. What time? Hes here at two. They said I think we still have some burritos left from breakfast (yes...breakfast leftovers at 1 pm), which I declined.I dont know if someone is on West Coast time or what, but lunch doesnt start at 2, even in hipster BedStuy/Bushwick. Plus, theres another great cafe that actually serves sandwiches AT LUNCHTIME not that far away near Saratoga Park. So unless Im going in for a basic cup of coffee, this place needs to improve an awful lot to get me to come back.On the plus side, if you dont care that the coffee is so-so and you want a quiet place to work, its always pretty dead during the lunch hours...for obvious reasons.

2022-02-22I didnt want to do this because I hate giving bad reviews, but I went to this place on a Sunday morning, it was quite a slow morning at the cafe, and the Barista forgot my friends breakfast burrito. We waited at our table for 15 minutes while they chatted, and we assumed it was taking long because somebody was in the back cooking it. But when I came to the counter and asked where it was, the barista brushed it off and said just a couple more minutes and I saw her take it out of the fridge and throw it in the microwave. She didnt even acknowledge that she had forgotten it, nor did she apologize for making us wait. I went back to the table, and then she proceeded to forget about it even after the microwave was done. And once again I had to get up and remind her that we were still waiting, and still she was very dismissive and gave no apology. Im not an entitled Karen, and I didnt want to say anything nor complain but a little bit of acknowledgement wouldve been nice. My friend & I left this place with a bad taste in our months about it.

2022-04-09This place is great. Loads of tables inside and out, there’s always a spot for you and friends or a laptop. They have pastries and breakfast/lunch options. Even better, they function as a bar at night and have weekly events!

2022-05-16I visited here one morning/afternoon to get some work done, some food and some coffee... All three were accomplished. The coffee came out fast and did the job while the playlist definitely overachieved. But the breakfast burrito was just ok. The seating is ample along with outlets to plug in, and WiFi is included.

2022-07-08This cafe is great! Despite the gentrification vibe of the neighborhood this cafe at least make everyone feel comfortable. Nice open space, plenty of windows, and the cafe has a feeling of you working at newspaper company that’s a coffee cafe. No newspapers for sale though lol! They have a lot of entertainment nights such as karaoke, jazz night and comedy. This spot as a lot of Great energy!
