The Dermatology Specialists in other cities:
1) You’ll get there and have to act EXTRA nice to the front desk staff so that they eventually act nice back to you. Cold, zero eye contact, etc. Why do I feel like I’M a the one working?2) You’ll sit there on time for your appointment and walk-ins will be taken back to see the doctor before you are. Not a huge deal but a noticeable bother.3) The doctor will see you and not ONCE touch your face or your skin. They might ask you to lift down your mask for a few seconds but otherwise they seem completely disinterested. I was not asked about diet, lifestyle, anything that might have been related to my acne / oily skin issue. The context of my skin health was not inquired about at all. This is an in-and-out operation (maybe 5 minutes we’re spent addressing a relatively intense skin issue) which I’m sure many people reading this are familiar with. This place is no exception.THEY don’t ask you questions, YOU have to advocate for yourself. Even though they are the medical professional, feel prepared to have to articulate your own ailments, even though you are coming to them in the first place because you need their advice.3) Despite being told “we are not being paid to promote this product to you”, both the nurse and the doctor repeatedly tried to push a “cosemetic” version of a simple medical cream on me — which is MUCH more expensive than then regular cream — DESPITE me telling them I could not afford to pay for a cream that has “fish oil and collagen”.Even after I explicitly asked the nurse to give me the regular version of the cream he insisted that “he would pay for it if he had to because it’s so good” and proceeded to order it to the pharmacy ANYWAY! I asked if I could please not get the branded (more expensive) version and he said I could call the pharmacy and change it myself. So baffling.4) It never ceases to amaze me how clinic after clinic I am disappointed. As a new grad making a very low salary — these visits are important and take a lot of time and effort to get to, not to mention funds. Based on the reviews I am seeing for this place the bill I expect to get for this subpar appointment is even more frightening.
This Place is the best!!!!! The staff is very courteous nice and very helpful and the office is always clean. The doctors are awesome too!!!! And the receptionist that I deal with she is always awesome and sweet..... I dont know if I can put her name up here but I will call her Lady K...... keep up the good work staff!!!!
The place was very clean and the staff very friendly. The doctor that I saw ahe was extremely helpful and explained everything in a way I could understand also she gave me options for treatment I choose from and not just say this is whats gonna be doneThis is a place I would highly recommend.
Dr Stratton always does a wonderful job. My self esteem was low because of the dark marks on my face. She went through vigorous treatments with me until one worked. It took 6 months and I’m astonished with the results. Trust the process. Be patient. Dr Stratton does her job well. Thank you
I used to love this place but unfortunately my love is waning. On two separate occasions Ive had appointments changed or cancelled without adequate notice. The first time it occurred was 20 min prior to my appointment when I was already half way there. The second time my appointment time was changed without notice and with a provider I did not schedule it with. The three stars are only for my usual Dermatologist Holly DiMura who is amazing and makes you feel welcomed and taken care of.
Okay so first let me start of by saying, these people will have you waiting! Don’t book an appointment for me at a certain time and I see the provider hours later. I literally have to harass to remind them that I’m still here! Somehow I can’t have a set provider I’m always being switched to somebody else, they’re billing my insurance and no different in my skin. Do not come here.
Visiting today again for followup visit. One again PA-C Yvonne Huang was on point in meeting my expectations.I arrived to check in the front desk personnel were also polite and professional I will remain a client and highly recommend this business for your dermatological services.
This office is a joke. I received a referral from my PCP and called to make an appointment. Not once during my phone call did the rep mention that I had to bring my referral form with me so I showed up to my appointment without it. The receptionist asked if I had my doctor’s referral and I said no. I was annoyed but whatever. I rescheduled my appointment for the following day and planned to bring my referral. The next day comes and I show up with my referral. Then they tell me it’s not the right referral and I have to go through my insurance portal to get the right paperwork!!!!!!! What?!!! Why wasn’t any of this mentioned when I called to schedule my appointment?! No, they wait until you travel to their facility TWICE to let you know the documentation you need to be seen. Waste of my time and I’ll never return here. Get it together.
They really care about their patient...Its been 8 month since I started going there. You need to be punctual to your appointment otherwise you will wait , I usually spend less than 30mns.The place is wonderful, If you have any questions, call their customer service.Trains that goes by A ,C and G Hoyt Street ( Bond St) and it is Atlantic Backlay Center (2,3,4,5,B,D,Q,R,N .. trains ) and also buses.busses..Hope you like my reviews and can start follow me...SO GLAD TO BE YOUR GUIDE !!!👍 Great service !!!
I had such a awesome experience here the place is nicely decorated all the staff was so friendly, the PA was very knowledgeable and they are really good at reminding me of things via phone and letting me know the answers to questions I had! My only complaint is that I wish they asked me questions about my skin but instead I had to point out every single thing I thought could be wrong but they did give me my prescriptions.
My daughter and I have visited Brooklyn Dermotology on several occasions and they never seem to be able to figure out anything. They gave me daughter some cream that discolored her face and made it greyish and ashy. She went to another dermatologist in which we had to pay a small fortune to correct her skin tone.On yesterday, I waited an hour and a half to be seen. I arrived at 1:20pm and my appointment was at 1:30. I didnt see a doctor until 3:00 pm. Every patient who had appointments after me was seen before me. The only staff member who was apologetic was the African American receptionist. When I told Alyissa Gopman she was dismissive. She gave me a stare that was cold and intimidsting. She didnt exam my back and arms in which she prescribed meds for. I will not be going back. They only reason I revisited this office was because I wasnt able to get an appointment with the other dermatologist I was seeing, until May.On my way out, the receptionist (an African American female) asked when she should schedule my next appointment and I explained that she shouldnt and why I would not be returning. She then apologized for their tardiness and the rudeness I had endured by Alyssa Gopman, PA-C.
First, the place was not crowded and it was very clean. Everyone was very nice from the girl at the front desk to the lady taking my info to Dr. Kache. Dr. Kache was very polite and knowledgeable. She listened attentively to my concerns and recommended medications for my acne. She also expained the benefits and possible side effects. The office also helped me with pharmacy issues and followed up to make sure everything was good. My daughter also goes there which is why I decided to go myself. Theyre always trying different products until youre satisfied with the results. My last dermatologist gave me the same medication even when it was obvious it wasnt working. Thank you Dr. Kache for giving me hope to clearer skin.
An absolutely lovely experience. From the minute I walked into the dermatologist office I was pleasantly greeted by the receptionist. The waiting room was modern and clean. My wait time wasnt long either. The practitioner was very bubbly and personable. She was patient and took her time to examine and explain everything! They created a lifelong customer in me. I will be referring them to everyone I know!
Clean facility. The receptionist did not even look up or make eye contact when I said hi and told him my info. The doctor gave me good advice but it felt rushed. She spent 10 minutes with me and I paid $150 for that. She did direct me to a pharmacy where I could get my scripts for much cheaper than a regular pharmacy and I appreciated that. They were all extremely professional but at the cost of showing a little human warmth. Any business that I patronzie Id like to feel as if they appreciated my business and wanted me there.
Very disappointed in the process with the receptionist staff. The doctor was great but since I left the office, it has been four days and I still haven’t been able to get my prescription. I asked them to send to two different pharmacies on different occasions and they confirmed that it was sent and even arrived. When I went to both pharmacies, they had no account for me. I’ve wasted so much time travelling to be told nothing is under my name. When I finally rang to get them to speak over the phone to give my prescription, Chris on the desk had no idea what information to give and kept giving not enough detail. Even the pharmacist was getting frustrated. I am now 5 days behind medication because it has been so hard to collect.
My PCP provided a referral to this dermatologist center. I was not disappointed in the way I was assisted. The representative over the phone was courteous and assisted me in making my appointment. When I reached, the service was still the same. I did not wait long to see my doctor, and his service was excellent.Looking forward to my next visit.
Amazing! The place overall is super clean and well put together. All staff were very polite and kind since the moment I arrived. I felt welcomed and comfortable. I took my toddler due to eczema and Dr. Luis explained everything in detail and made me feel comfortable with any procedures I should take at home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone :)
I went here for a check up. I was charged $50 and went on my way. Two years later I received a bill for $250. Had I been billed in a timely manner it would have been paid for through our companies insurance program. However two years later with a different job I am stuck with a $250 bill. Perhaps the most frustrating part was was how condescending the manager of the billing department was. Reading through the reviews I can see that many others have received a surprise $250 bill.
This visit went seamlessly. They canceled my son’s last visit after my son was escorted and arrived 1/2 hr late, I called to inform that he’d be late, the weather was in climate and quite frigid . I couldn’t believe I sent them out and he was still cancelled. Today went very well. The check in staff member asked his name, he was treated by the dr in less than 1/2 hr and received excellent care. We’ll be back for a follow up visit. I read a few of the other reviews. I must agree that the physician is the genuine reason as to why many of us return.
HiIm Clayton Fryar Dad to your patient my daughter Anastasia Fryar .. So my daughters appt was for today at 11:30 we arrived on time and was promptly seen after completing the required registration documents. From the reception staff to the primary physician and her assistant everyone was polite professional and knowledgable and performed their service with quality customer service.Overall exceeding my expectations.. Thank youBefore leaving we left our review electronically at the reception desk terminal and in the tat review with similar wording we mention the names of the staff, however we forgot to include our names.
Good if your only going for cleaning anything else no. I’m waiting since September to receive my botox. They are very bad communicating. Information they have in notes are incorrect My medicine is in the office. And then tells me it’s not there for the past 5 months I have to call them to see if it’s in the office and every time I call it’s not there. The last time I was on the phone with someone name Brandon and he hung up the phone on me when I expressed my concerns
Today I2/13/22 I arrived for my scheduled appointment at 11:30 and was seen promptly after registration with Staff members Assiatou and kyra at the front desk. My provider Namitha Kache and medical assistant Yasmine Holland were knowledgeable, polite, and detailed. My overall experience today exceeded my expectations 😆😆👍🏾👍🏾!
Im giving 2 stars for the simple fact that, when I walked in I wasnt even greeted with a hello how may I help you. The receptionist that was on the phone seemed to be aggravated with whomever she was on the phone with. she asked me did I have a mask I said, no. She looked at me and then got the mask box. So I got the mask and she still didnt ask me what I wanted or even said, she will be with me in a few (mind you there were 2 receptionist) ok so, then the other receptionist asked me did I have an appointment. I said, no. She said, what are you here for? I said, dermatology for my face. She said, were short staffed and they couldnt take walk-ins. So, I said, when is the next time walk-ins are available? She told me I can come tomorrow 3/26/22 at 4:10pm. I said, is this an appointment? She said yes. Im like, well I cant make the appointment for tomorrow thats why I walked in. Long story short, the receptionists at 440 Fulton dont really have office/receptionist etiquette. Ill will walk-in at one of there other sites.
Visited the office on Atlantic Ave. a couple times, time spent with the doctor is approximately 10 minutes each time. Always felt relished but continued to visit because the prescribed medication was indeed working on my mild acne. I even recommend a friend who visited their office but after today, I would never return nor refer anyone. While advising me of my options, Dr. Stratton stated I was adamant about not trying a specific medication. My confused expression must have been apparent beause shes never mentioned it to me before, she asked if I speak English. (English is my only spoken language) she proceeded to assure me I was aware because its in my notes. She later stated she never prescribed to me medication for the length of time I took it and insinuated I may have called the office and requested a refill. I am not paying anyone to question and imsult my integrity. Never again!
AVOID!! Their billing practices are questionable and the exam room was not clean. I made a last minute appointment here because my usual dermatologist was unable to squeeze me in that day. I was told over the phone that I would be seeing XX but was not told XX was a physicians assistant. As I sat in the exam room waiting, I noticed that the tray right next to me had used materials from the previous patient. I should have walked out right then. The PA examined my ears and rash and then gave me a prescription. Never did the medical doctor come in to confirm her diagnosis. Two days later, I went to see my usual dermatologist because the medication and ointment I was prescribed were not providing any relief at all. The dermatologist said whatever I was prescribed would not help my condition. Two weeks later, I received a $350 bill from The Dermatology Specialists which was more than twice the amount as my usual dermatologist. I was puzzled why the bill was so high especially when I did not even see the medical doctor. I called the billing department and was told Im a new patient who was diagnosed with two conditions that needed prescriptions. Since when does a doctor charge for being a new patient and for writing a prescription! This to me sounds like overbilling! The billing person was unable to provide any answers and was rude when I mentioned that my usual dermatologist charged me a lot less. She said, you went to a dermatology specialist. My response, my usual dermatologist is world renowned and is a medical doctor.Needless to say, I will not be coming back and will make sure to tell my friends and neighbors in the Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and Carroll Gardens area to never step foot into The Dermatology Specialists!
I showed up 3 mins late and then waited for 6+ mins to check in for a 6:50 appt and was turned away because I was late ??? I don’t think this is fair considering some people travel from very far away to come. 5 min grace is at bare minimum standard. You can’t call here to report you’re late . If they cannot open a line for latecomers to call then they should accept folks who show up to the office within the standard 5 min grace. instead I had to watch the doctor walk out the door while in line. I’ve waited waaaay longer in the waiting room with no complaints…this seems like a double standard and bad practice to me. This place needs to reevaluate their late policies to accommodate the reality of life in the city.
Took an hour to see the doctor. I came in at 4:10pm for my 4:20pm appointment, didnt see the doctor until 5:35pm just for her to do my injections for 5 minutes. And I didnt even get to talk about everything I wanted to talk because I had rush out of there for next appointment at 6pm.
Do not go here. My doctor gave me a sample pack of antibiotics which gave me an aggressive yeast infection that will take 6 months to heal. They did not tell me the risks of taking this medication. I would rather have acne than feel disgusting dirty and gross. Avoid this place at all costs.Also- they WILL try and push big pharma meds on you even before your test results come in. Going to go to Mount Sinai for my dermatology now.
Receptionists are incompetent, Ive had to fill out the same paperwork 3 times because they are apparently incapable of putting it into their system. Their doctors are unhelpful and unprofessional, I literally got laughed at after explaining my issue and was then told theres nothing they can do.
I was looking for dermatology place and i found this place on Google and decided to give it a try and I’ve been going ever since great staff , clean rooms, and short wait time. My dermatologist Yvonne is awesome extremely great gives me some do’s and dont’s that help with my acne.
I honestly don’t understand the attitude with the front desk people. Like we come for a follow-up and the lady said no “hi”, “welcome, nor “good morning”. Very inappropriate customer service. She just said “name”. We give her our names and she said “wait”. when it was time to bring us in, she comes in ranting stating “I am calling you guys, you guys DON’T listen”. But she never called us to come in, and if she did we can’t hear your low tone cranky voice under the mask across the other side of the room.Even after she brought us into the room she still continued to rant about us.(To be clear it was the lady downstairs on Tuesday)Like why does she have to be so rude. I don’t know y she was acting like this due to our race and all. But it was honestly not right. We both were born here and are US Citizens. The doctor on the other hand was so kind, polite, and respectful. That’s the only reason we come here. It’s a 45 minute drive and we get treated with this. My job for a living is all about customer service and by far I don’t treat my customers like this. Wow!Please respectfully teach that women some fundamentals of customer service.
I had a good experience on my visit to Downtown Brooklyn office. Every one from the front desk staff to my Doctor Holly were very nice ,kind and Professional, no long waiting time and very easy to get an appiontment. I followed Dr.Holly from eastern parkway location where I saw her before. I highly recommend any one to visit the office .
Total disregard for peoples time. I scheduled an appointment with GHI as my Insurance. When I get to the appointment they say they dont take GHI. They go on to say that online is not reliable. How I am suppose to know their online is unreliable beats me??? If the doctors of this practice dont care enough for peoples time I doubt they are good doctors. Totally unethical and hope no one else has to experience what I went through.
Ive been going here for a few years and have always had a good experience until today. I tried to schedule a cosmetic procedure which was difficult to begin with due to the incompetent receptionist which scheduled me at the wrong location. Then I called to change it and went today and was then informed of an extra charge for a consultation of $250. I went completely out of my way for nothing and left. I really think they need to be clear about the charge.
Ive been twice. Although the staff is nice, patient attention is not a priority and given my recent billing, I have found Im billed excessively for charges that were neither performed, nor explained properly. The first time, I was told an item due to medical would be covered and it wasnt, and the amount asked for did not account for the $50 copay I had already given. The second time, I waited 20 minutes in a gown and had to remind the staff I was still in a room 10 minutes before they were to close. The doctor did not seem totally engaged and then I received a bill for a procedure, when I had just come for a customary follow up from the first appointment, and would have been covered by my initial copay. I am still waiting to resolve my billing issue, which is unfortunate to say the least, because I did like the doctor - I just have concerns over this offices intent.
I shouldve checked yelp reviews. Good doctors, but terrible money grabbing practice. I went for a procedure and paid out of pocket. I also asked for a prescription, which I was given without a question and with no explanation that I would have to pay an extra $250 for the prescription writing service. They billed to my insurance that of course does not cover the full amount. No extra medical examine, just a very common prescription. Learned my lesson.
These front desk people put the rrrrrrr in receptionist. Who hurt you so?No hi hello, just bark orders at folks. I had a some concerns regarding the last visit. Doctor wouldn’t talk to me on the phone, insisted that I make a trip in. Receptionist insisted that I pay for copay even though the reason I came in is something was wrong with the procedure they did the last visit, before I even got to see the doctor. Been sitting here waiting for 35 mins 🙃🤨😟 maybe they want me to die old here on this bench. After 35 mins waiting the front desk called me over and said I would really need to pay the $40 to even get to see this doctor. It’s not the money. It’s the principle. This doctor messed up the procedure, and she would like me to pay to hear her explain to me how she ducked it up 🙃No.I’m back to waiting to on bench to speak to a manager 😂 I think I will live out my days here.Spoken to manager and nice as she was she was not able to let me see this doctor if I don’t pay. 😊3 star is because the first doctor who treated me 4 times prior was amazing. I made a mistake of seeing another 😔*Update: They said they would make an exception and let me see this doctor! Should they deem it was not their fault, I would have to pay 😉 It’s not the 40 bucks really. I just wanted some justice today ⚖️Waiting now still, an hour and 10 mins later
The staff and doctors were very nice-- the billing is a total mess. I have been charged without full explanation four separate times over the last two years for one procedure/followup; the latest being a surprise adjustment fee from over a year and a half past the last invoice. Use this service at your own risk and prepare for the worst.
READ THE YELP REVIEWS. This place is the definition of sketchy. I waited crazy long for my appointment, the front desk staff were rude. They dont care about your time at all. My appointment lasted 15 minutes, and my bill was padded. Very very sketchy place. I have excellent insurance and ended up with a $500ish bill. PLEASE AVOID THIS OFFICE.
I came here Saturday 6/19/21 with my husband. I had an appointment with Dr. Chloe Huggins & my husband had Dr. Ann Lin. I found this office on Zocdoc. Best Dermatology office weve been too. Fabulous doctors & Fabulous assistants. We didnt wait long & Dr. Linn took extra care of my husbands needs. He had a cyst removed from his head which she was so careful not to cut his hair, & he is on blood thinners which through the procedure she made sure always asking if he is doing well. The amount of care given by this office I can only say well deserved 10 stars🌟. Thank you so much 🙏.
I had my first visit today and the Front Desk was so polite and professional. The waiting area is very clean great relaxing music while you wait. Everyone i came in contact with treated me Nice the Dr.NOOROLLAH mad me feel very comfortable and gave me straight up details of what I will need to do for myself and what my procedure will be like made me feel very comfortable.
I found Dermatology Specialists to be professional and sanitary with nice concerned people working throughout their office.I especially appreciated the wellness check phone call they gave me the next day.I would return to Dermatology Specialists if I needed to, in the future.
Came here earlier today (July 19, 2021). Overall I had a very positive experience from the receptionist, dermatologist and her assistant. The dermatologist (I forgot her name but shes an older Hispanic lady with glasses) was backed up in patients yet she still took her time with me. Her assistant was great as well. Definitely returning.
I love my doctor, and have been seeing her since before this became The Dermatology Specialists, and now she is the only reason I continue going here. Every time I have an appointment I show up early and still end up waiting for average of 20-30 mins (sometimes longer!) past my appointment time to be seen. Stop overbooking!! I shouldnt have to plan to be there an hour for a 15 min appointment. Also, stop trying to hit me up for a copay when its a cosmetic appointment. Have had to go through this almost every visit. Some staff are more insistent than others on getting a copay and I have to wait even longer so that they can confirm with someone that I do not in fact have to pay a copay for treatment not covered by insurance.
I’m so grateful that BD is open on Sundays. I was in so much pain and needed to be seen right away. Fortunately, there was appointment available and that made my day. The specialist was very patient with me and cared deeply about the pain I was in. She did everything she could to ease my pain. I would highly recommend BD. Thanks a lot Namitha Kache 🥰🥰
This is my first Dermatologist Clinic and it’s by far beyond my expectations. Booking appointments and rescheduling was truly easy. Within the first weeks of treatment I’ve seen improvement I just want to brag about. Thank you. Clinic is clean, receptionists are great. Friendly and professional! I recommend
I love my doctor Dr. Luis. He is very understanding and takes his time with you so your skin concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Ive been coming here last year who I found out about through my mom who has been a patient for many years and they are the best to me. The receptionist has been kind to me every time I went upstairs and downstairs and Dr Luis really has helped me a lot with my skin issues.
PA Chole treated a small cyst on my scalp. She was very friendly, professional and her treatment was fast and very effective. The office staff and MA were also very nice and professional. Probably one of the best healthcare experiences since I moved to NYC. I highly recommend and will come back again if needed. Thank you for helping me.
For the first time, my visit was extremely disappointing. I waited with my 7 year old daughter for 45 minutes and did not even see the doctor. Two very pleasant PAs finally showed up and refilled our prescriptions. Needless to say, moving forward, we will not be returning to this particular office.
I was able to book an appointment very easily and quickly. It was my first time at the dermatologist and everyone in the office made the experience absolutely wonderful. The dermatologist was attentive, took her time to explain how she could help and treated me immediately. I will definitely be back and highly recommend.
Best Doctors and staff ever! Always attentive, considerate, and just plain NICE! They make sure your entire experience is about you and your needs. My skin is the best its been since starting to go to the Atlantic Avenue Ctr., Downtown Brooklyn. Would not trade this team for anything!
I need help of a profesional for a little spot that grew on my knee.I made my first appointment on a Sunday but couldn’t see the professional because I need a referral from my primary Doctor; next day I got an email from Brooklyn Dermatology making easy to reschedule, I got my referral and today, after waiting like 20 minutes I got called and be able to be seeing by Dr Luis M Ayala, He’s not only speak my language but also was very professional and caring about my issues.I highly recommend this facility , from the beginning to the end of my Dermatology consult everyone treat you with kindness and respect .
Everything was seamless and perfect, from the moment I walked in, to being greeted, the wait time, the quick and easy process, the doctor and their assistants were all very attentive and caring, as well as personable. Will be returning! :) Already looking forward to my next visit.
Great Dermatologists and hip office. I’ve seen three and like them all. They have plugs so you can charge your electronics under the benches which I find very customer friendly. Billing has always been smooth and you can call to book appointments but also book on ZocDoc.
1st off It takes longer than 10 minutes to sit with a patient, especially if it’s the 1st time meeting with the patient. 2nd to have the doctor telling me to use the restroom to wash my face after treatment because he has another patient who needs the room is ridiculous. There was a sink in the room I was in but was told to step out to make room. I saw Dr. Luis Ayala and wasn’t impressed at all. He was dismissive and more concerned with prescribing oral medications and any additional prescription I would have agreed to. What happened to Doctors helping patients finding the root of the problem. I guess that has gone out the window instead lets help Big Pharma and doctors get paid while we as the patients just suffer. No, but no thanks. The worst part, almost all these doctors now are days just don’t care. Such a shame when you can’t even trust doctors. Dr. Bukka can you hire African American doctors at your facilities. How can you cater to the majority of African American patients and have no doctors they can feel comfortable with. I’m sure this review will just be dismissed like the others.
The Office was beautiful, I never been to a dermatologists office as clean organized like that, The nurse was sweet and she knew what I was talking about when it came to my skin. The doctor was very informative and aware of my goal when it came to my blemishes on my face. However, the medicine she prescribed my insurance didn’t cover it and it was very expensive. So I need to find something that my insurance will cover, but overall this will be my new dermatologist from now on.
I’m very disappointed with the fact that if you’re waiting in the the waiting area down stairs your phone won’t get service. This is the 3rd time that this happened to me. Today being the most significant because it cost me $2700.00. I play stocks daily and could not even see what was going on on the stock market. I asked the lady at the desk who seems to be there each time I go there, “Is there any WiFi for patients since I can’t get any cellular service? She replied, “No, that’s the way it is down here!” If we are coming to an establishment for service and paying for our services, in modern times, then for the least, we should be able to have access to WiFi in area’s where we have to sit and wait for doctors such as the basement like area that they made me sit. At first I tough it was my phone carrier, but when I asked the two patients next to me, (I have their names) they were also having the same issues. So my experience at that establishment was one of the worst, if not the worst ever because today it cost me money. This could have easily done have been solved by simply allowing customers access to WiFi. Very disappointed!
I decided to give this location a try after having a bad experience at 1163 Myrtle ave.(Another Location) and it was quiet pleasant. Peter was really nice and welcoming and he helped me with any questions I needed answered the physician assistant was also friendly and the doctor had a get straight to the point demeanor. Easy to book and appointment but Expect to wait at least a hour past your appointment.
The Dematology specialist are the best in Brooklyn. Its been my home for many years . Whenever I have a problem with my allergies or any skin issues. I dont hesitate to make my appointment. Theyre very friendly, caring and most of all, take care of the problems your having. I strongly recommend them.Thank you guys.its your girl Kathy Benjamin.
This was my second visit. I like it because the doctor listens, responds with care and laughter, of course. He hears my needs, my concerns and thats what is most important to me. And the staff is very friendly.. That makes a world of a difference!! I would recommend anyone, anyday!
Today I got Botox with the PA, Sarah Biedermann, and I am very happy with my experience. Sarah did a phenomenal job and was very knowledge about the procedure and everything that came with it. I came a little bit early to my appointment and was able to get right in without a wait. Sarah made made me feel like a priority and didn’t seem rushed. I am already recommending her to friends and family!
Friendly reception and a nurse. The wait time, however, was horrible. Walked into their office at 3:50 (for my 4pm visit), waited 25 mins just to get into the room, then another 45 (!) mins just sitting inside half-naked waiting for someone to come in. The doctor walked in at 5pm without so much as saying a word about it.They prescribed an ointment to me which I asked to use a capsule for. Two days later — nothing from either capsule or the doctor. Had to call them just to find out that I somehow have 3 charts with them and because of that the treatment wasnt sent out to capsule.Kind of a mess of a place.
I had one visit with Dr.Luis Ayala before. He had a very nasty demeanor; as if I were a nuisance to him and not a patient. Horrible bedside manner. Dr.Ayala was very rude and the visit felt rushed once I got into the room with him. Hes not friendly or welcoming at all. A total waste of time. There are a few receptionist there who need to be pulled to the side and taught how to welcome patients and lose their attitudes as well
I was thankfully able to schedule my first appointment with Dr. Noorollah the same day I found Dermatology Specialist; while visiting another health care provider in the area. Because they “squeezed me in” I spent the appt with a resident under the doctor’s team. This of course has possibly changed with the city opening back up, but the solid service has not. The Atlantic Ave. office is very accessible on train or bus and is conveniently located near City Pointe (Target, Trader Joe’s, and etc.) I first scheduled my appointment online and it was quick and easy to understand. Dr. Noorollah knows her stuff and was more than willing to make sure I had adequate refills for stubborn problems we are addressing together. Definitely worth checking out. Five stars just for them being in the area and open to people with different medical coverage and issues.
What a horrific and cold experience! The receptionist on Sat demanded I pay a specialist copay when my insurance explicitly showed there was a lesser copay ($15 difference). After 30 min of filling out paperwork, this was just an incredible waste of time and I left. This location needs to work on being warm and inviting to new patients. Not the experience I was looking for at all! Wow, I honestly couldnt believe it!
Today was my first visit at the office on Atlantic Avenue. Sarah Biederman (PA) was smart, professional and so helpful with my multitude of questions. I received Botox injections for my first time, and I was excited, but nervous and Sarah was so comforting. I am so happy with the results and I wouldn’t trust anyone else but Sarah!
I started coming here about 10 years ago and had an amazing and positive experience.I stopped coming for a few years as I needed a place close to my office.I finally returned this week in a panic because I am getting married on Friday and was experiencing the worst breakout in over 9months. Holly, the PA I saw was so helpful and kind. She was able to correctly diagnose my skin problems, while my other dermatologist had not. She gave me a free sample of the right cream and some antibiotics. After ONE day I noticed a huge difference. I’m so thankful to finally know what is going on with my skin and have it be taken seriously!
Even though they could not help me because of my veins. She wrote on a paper which she consulted with other physicians references for me to take which I appreciate. I had used them for years on other part of my body but this one had to do with my vein doctor. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
I have been coming to this office for years, since before they moved to this new big space which I love.. Have to get used to the new staff, but love my old school staff ( Jessie ).. She is always helpful and I works with my crazy schedule.. I recommend a lot of coworkers and patients to this office..PA Ayala was great, staff was polite. Great music while waiting waiting, just think it was a bit loud in my opinion...
I’ve been going to Brooklyn Dermatology for a month and I can honestly say that so far it’s a reliable place. The staff is well organized and the wait is only about 10 minutes (at least that’s been my experience the 4 times I’ve been there). Happy they accepted my insurance. Doctor Choudhury is very polite, genuine and knows his stuff. The medicine and creams he’s prescribed me truly work and I’ve seen results in weeks. Definitely check them out!
The appointment was fine, but the waiting room was way too crowded for covid times. There were easily 12 people waiting in a small waiting room. I didn’t see any any purifiers going and no open windows or doors either. Honestly it was the most crowded and crammed with other people I’ve been since March.
The doctor and staff were friendly and competent. However, I originally made the appointment by phone and received three confirmation/reminder emails plus a voicemail reminder. When I arrived at the correct time and correct location, they had no record of my appointment and said the doctor with whom I made my appointment was at a different location. They were able to see me eventually, but it did not instill a sense of comfort.
I totally love Brooklyn Dermatology! Everyone working there is so competent and friendly. The space is very spacious and clean. The Medical Assistants who come in to take your information before you see the Doctor are knowledgeable and friendly, and the Doctors are wonderful, friendly and excellent. There is one doctor I have seen frequently and she is very special! I do not know whether it would be fair for me to put her name in this review, because, in truth all of the Doctors do seem excellent and nice. I highly recommend this practice.
The only thing good about that place is the decor. The wait was long, they did not treat my 3 year old well. The visit was rushed, the doctor did not Liston to anything we said,we are quite sure that the doctor misdiagnosed an perhaps prescribed the wrong medicine based on the misdiagnoses. I wish we had not gotten the referral to go there...
Since coming to Bk Derm, I truly have to say that it has been life changing. Dr. Namitha Kache is awesome. She has the best bed side manners. She really cares about her patients. She helped me with a long time situation and has drastically changed my life. I just want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I highly recommend Bk Derm and I especially recommend Dr. Namitha Kache.
I’m very disappointed in this dermatology group. They are very shady to be and I really question they’re business practice especially this location.I call to book my Dad an appointment and see if they take his insurance. Which on the phone and website they have his insurance plastered and boast how they take all insurances. They told me certain doctors take insurances and they booked me with the doctor that takes the insurance. He gets there and they deny him service and say they’re branch doesn’t take his insurance. I gave them a call on their mainline. They doublecheck and insisted that they do take that insurance. I asked them to reach out the location so we can resolve issue and so he can be seen. They can’t even get in contact right hr location because their line is completely busy. Now I’m not just a random person, I’ve been going to this practice group for over a year now. I went to this location once and never went back because I had a bad experience. They fact that they refuse his insurance...yea...they are quite unprofessional and I would stay away all together. It’s really sad because the patients end up suffering. Also they do incentives for people to write reviews so I would take some of this reviews with a grain of salt. So much for the Hippocratic Oath.....
While regular treatments are awesome, during an emergency I was seen by another provider and waited for a medication I desperately needed for over a week, (if my life depended on that, I will be gone) I ended up going to a city-md clinic to get the relief (medication) I needed, that was a horrible experience, I called like 20 times to address the situation but got no response. Very frustrating! 😱😡👊
Knowledgeable staff and always accommodating!! I don’t need a second opinion, because I’ve never felt a need. My daughter and I trust the doctors completely, and she’s satisfied. She’s happy, I’m happy. And it’s super clean and beautiful all throughout. Front desk folks are cool!
I visited this dermatologist location several times, and has nothing bad to say. Everyone is soo nice, also the place is very clean. The PA are very knowledgeable and try to help as much as Possible, especially Ms. Huang. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
The clinic is wonderful. Clean, well decorated, update technology and harmonious ambience. The front desk staff are customer friendly, helpful and treat you with respect and promptly. The medical and clinical staff such as doctors, interns and assistants, are amazing, friendly, they explain you the procedures and the realistic expectations of results. Willing to help and accommodate you with the limitations you may have.
Where can I start this was my first time here its a very nice and clean environment..the lady in the front desk with the glasses I think she speak Spanish too I like her she is very helpful... Dr. MARIA SHE IS AWESOME she listens to you and she make sure you are taken care of I like that alot I will recommend anyone here and I will give them A+ for written my Attorazation letter on time and it was the best thing I ever wanted because its important to me for my surgery thank you so much...❤❤❤❤
I booked an appointment with Dr. Okereke because she was African American. It was very important for me to find a black female doctor that understood my culture. For ex: previous dermatologists would tell me to stop using Shea butter and black soap becausethey weren’t familiar with the product.Unfortunately despite booking with Dr. O, I was seen by an employer named Sara. I was a bit concerned at first but she had a great bedside manner and helped me with my problem. She said she would write me a prescription, and I asked for it to be sent to the Nearest pharmacy. When I got to the pharmacy, they said that they didn’t take my insurance and I would have to call the office so they can send the prescription to a rite aid.My appointment was on 2/10/20 and I’ve been calling the office nonstop since then. It is now 2/20/20 and no one has returned my calls. I can’t even leave a voicemail because the mailbox is full.At this point, my body starting breaking out in more lesions and unfortunately I’ll have to pay for this medication out of pocket.
One specialist recommended a treatment and when I went in for said treatment I was told, by another specialist, that it was the WRONG treatment (and could have made my condition worse) ... and then they still billed me! I could understand if I was referred by a separate company but it was their staff, and now I’m stuck paying $50 for nothing and because of poorly educated medical staff member that will recommend/prescribe treatments that are unsafe.
Ive been a patient of these dermatologists for more than ten years, long before they became The Dermatology Specialists. I continue to return because I love the doctors, especially Dr. Ayala; however, the reception staff and assistants are rude and unprofessional, both upstairs and downstairs. They are on their cell phones, have attitudes, and even talk about patients in the waiting room. Unfortunately, because of their lack of professionalism, I cannot give this office five stars.
I absolutely love this place. The Drs are very knowledgeable. They even go out of their way to give you samples of the medicine so you can using it until you get your prescription from the drugstore.I have been the twice & both times I was very satisfied.Plus, they dont overlook appointments. All the staff is great
I would not recommend their services to anybody. I went there for an issue that the doctor tried to address. After two weeks the issue was worse and their opinion was that they werent sure what the ailment was but to try the same treatment or see a surgeon, but they didnt know if they had one as part of their team. They followed up after to tell my they did have one, but they were not aware, they said they would follow up to schedule an appointment. I went to an oral surgeon who confirmed the treatment was not the correct choice and discussed my options. Meanwhile 2 weeks after they said they would follow up, Dermatologist Specialists finally called to book an appointment, which I declined as Im already working with a referred surgeon. Avoid if at all possible, all I got was a worsened condition and a $300 bill.
Whatever you do, do not go see Dr. Christine Lam in her Sunset office if you are not Asian.Really rude, and I dont know why. I had a goose egg bump on my head and she actually prescribed a facial surgeon, REALLY? Then, she would not give me the actual referral, told me should have the receptionist contact me and she never did.Who is this person? Why so rude and truly doesnt know what shes doing? All I can assume, it was personal.A real waste of time..

2022-06-13Funny Story so here I go………..About two weeks ago my partner and I were driving by Atlantic Ave and he pointed out a dermatologist office he had previously visited. I took notice and decided to remember the place so I can book an appointment as he had a great experience. A few days go by and finally book my appointment. Today was my appointment and as I am driving back home from it, on Atlantic Ave I realized I went to the wrong one. I tell you this though I’m very happy I made that mistake. The Dermatologist Specialists, you guys were OUTSTANDING!!! From the minute I got there (the front desk girls) you guys were super kind, to the MA getting me started (Good luck again you’ll make a great PA one day), to the physician who saw me (You are so sweet, straight to the point, please keep yelling at me for picking my pimples, super funny and caring).I got my very first chemical peal today and I gotta say I’m liking my insurance because it’s covered fully by it. I’ll definitely be back in 3 weeks for my follow-up. Thank you to all for doing an amazing job. See you soon!!!

2022-05-26Frankly, it was one of the best experiences Ive ever had at a doctors office. Decided to randomly walk-in to check on an issue Ive been avoiding (only human) and was seen within half an hour. The staff was great, the doctor too. They call and check up on you after the visit, make sure you get the prescribed medicine, and are just there to help to make sure youre satisfied. Its rather refreshing after dealing with countless inefficient offices. Ill be going in for a follow up appointment in a few weeks, so hopefully the experience wont change.

2022-02-25I’ve had a great experience here! Dr. Noorollah is always nice and easy to talk to. She listens to what I want and has helped me try a few different options for my acne (which have worked!). She’s also been super helpful when I ask about some cosmetic things and I never feel like she’s trying to sell me something or push a product. After work time slots (after 5pm) can be pretty busy for the office and sometimes there is a wait past your appointment time if they get behind but it’s never long and the office staff are always friendly and communicative about it.

2022-05-17This was my first time at the Downtown Brooklyn location on Atlantic Avenue. I didnt have to wait long to be seen. Its almost as if I filled out the paperwork and the PA, Yvonne Huang was ready for me. Everyone was professional and kind, from the young lady at the front desk, the medical assistant, and Yvonne herself. I had all my issues addressed in a manner that was neither condescending nor unsatisfactory. I would definitely recommend this practice!

2022-03-16I’m very glad a former coworker referred me to The Dermatology Specialists. I’ve been going for months and I couldn’t be any happier. Dr. Charlotte Noorollah is the best. She’s very gentle, kind and attentive to your wants and needs. I love the fact that besides getting down to business, she makes it comfortable to talk about all aspects of life. We’ve discussed me possibly switching to another location that’s convenient for me, but I’d rather travel the distance to be under her care! It’s worth it!!

2022-02-15This was the worst medical experience of my life. The doctor who runs the office was an HOUR late to the first appointment with my son. Once he saw my son, he was short and spent maybe a minute with him. The next appointment was with my daughter at 9am and he did not show up. He staff said they had no idea when he would arrive. We waited for awhile and eventually saw another provider. I waited and asked to speak with him. Instead of speaking with me - he brought someone in for an interview and ignored me. You don’t want to make an appointment here! The doctor who runs it is rude and dismissive.

2022-03-24I absolutely LOVE the dermatology specialists.First off, it’s a nice place to come, to sit and to wait for your appointment. All the staff is super friendly and committed to helping you. Dr Noroolah in particular is a superstar. She is so approachable and fun to be around. She is totally matter of fact and extremely knowledgeable. Yesterday, I came in with a growth that had been bothering me for months. She took a quick look at it through her magnifying glass and minutes later, she did a biopsie and BOOM, it was gone!

2022-04-13My experience with this facility is always a pleasant one. From the time you work in till the time you leave. The receptionist greets you with a smile and is pleasant to talk to. The wait time is less than 30mins. When called in the the Dermatogist ensures she greets you- ask how the treatment is working and is there anything else you would like to see a change in. The facility is top notch and is clean… I highly Recommend this place for your skin needs.

2022-05-27My sense is that this organization is kind of a mom and pop type service, where you may not get the extreme care you would get from going to a private dermatologist office. This organization has multiple offices around the city and they accept walk-ins.Regarding my visit, the doctor didn’t really give me any choices. I was just looking to have a mole removed from under my eye and the doctor said they can try to remove it by burning it off, but that may leave a mark, so its up to you. From that point, I used my better judgement not to go through with removing the mole if the possibility leaves a mark. So I really didnt get a good feel, so I couldnt really recommend going to this place based on this particular visit.

2022-07-02Jie Li was so good for my annual skin check, she explained everything she saw and why or why not there was any reason for concern. The attending nurse was fantastic too. I really appreciate the good experience for a routine exam!
