The Oceanside location continues to impress me every time I walk in. It is always well lit, clean and has a modern fresh interior design that I feel matched the aesthetic of dermatology. The medical staff and PA Martha Torres are all really nice and professional. I had a great experience talking to medical assistant Dana (I think that’s how you spell it) and felt super comfortable despite being vulnerable during my treatment procedures. Overall, I always enjoy my visits to this clinic and never miss a follow up!
I love love the customer service & quality of care P.A. Kamal provides for me. I highly recommend this dermo office to all. In addition I had a visit yesterday for my 3rd dermo peal. Services were excellent. I highly recommend.
I scheduled an appointment Online and then went to the office a couple of days later and found out I wasnt even in the system. Other than that my experience was splendid

I walked in last Friday to enquire about my insurance. They looked it up efficiently and swt me an appointment fir the following Monday. They were not only professional, but caring and gentle.I wouldcrecommend their services to friends and family.

I just wondered share my lovely experience, I visited on Monday 1/17/2022. From the moment I walk in, I was greeted by three ladies, working the front, they are always nice and pleasant, I there to see Dr John Nia, he explained everything to me, answered all the questions I had, before he came into the room, I was attended by Shayla the MA, she was wonderful, from start, she explained things, also answered all my question, Ms Shayla put on some music to relaxed me, then Dr John Nia came in, when I tell you I felt no pain, I mean it. I was nervous, keep kept talking to and was explaining everything. I also called two days later, because I have some questions, he called me back, best side manor 10. I went back on 1/24/2022, to get my stitches removed, had the pleasure of seeing Ms Shayla who removed them. Dr John Nia, and Shayla worked great together. The place is clean, feel like, I at spa. Dr John Nia, also text me today 1/26/2022 to check on me, I really appreciate it, thanks for making me feel beautiful again. I telling are my family and friends, that best place to.

Receptionist up front was very rude. This was supposed to be my second visit but the provider refused to see me because I was 15 minutes late and policy is if your 20 minutes late then you reschedule. Needless to say I will not be going back and maybe staff should get professionalism training.

Ive had an appointment scheduled since last year. Got many reminders. Filled out their online forms. Just recently changed insurance. Their website said they took my new insurance. Called their website number anyway. Yes we take your insurance. Drove over 1 hour for the appointment. Show up. Who are you? We dont have your appointment. Oh wait, that dermatologist no longer works with us. And their restroom is broken. Had to walk over to Stop & Shop. I get back. Sign on the window says, no appointment necessary. So Im thinking Ill see another doctor. No dice. While the firm accepts my insurance, the MD at this site this day doesnt. Total cluster! Highly recommend against using Dermatology Specialist. I definitely did not feel special.
Made an appointment as a walk-in. Front desk staff nice and helpful. The place is clean and inviting. I Was seen right away and taken care of by Michelle and Victoria. The entire experience and staff were so pleasant and took care of my skin concerns quickly. I was recommended here by a friend and now I would recommend them to anyone else!
The only downside is that you cannot contact the facility directly. You have to go through an answering service who will send the doctor a message for you then you have to wait for the doctor to respond to them then wait for a call back from the answering service . It’s just too complicated especially if you need a prescription asap. Besides that, there was no wait, the place was very clean and the receptionist and doctor were very nice.
I am a new patient at The Dermatology Specialists. The reception area is very clean, light and convenient for filling in papers. Waiting time no more than 10 minutes. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was nice to talk with Doctor Victoria La Sala, she gave an impression of a true professional.I highly recommend visiting The Dermatology Specialists.
First I want to start off by saying that I don’t usually do reviews but my experience here today made me write a review. This was the best experience I ever had. I walked in and only waited for about 5 minutes to see Dr. Victoria LaSala. She took her time to explained my condition and prescribed me with an ointment. It was a smooth process picking up my prescription. And I applied the ointment one time and immediately felt a relief on my hands. I will definitely recommend anyone to come see Dr. Victoria. She’s amazing!!!
Came to this office for the first time for a skin rash. The office is super clean. The people at the front desk were amazing and very friendly. My wait time was practically seconds. Once seen by the doctor she was very knowledgeable and took her time to explain everything and answer all my questions. Would def recommend this place and this will be my new dermatologist doctor for sure.

Awful experience! Wasn’t told when I made appointment online that the location didn’t offer fillers nor was I told that the appointment would only be a consultation ( yes I know how these things work , but I was there, they were there, product was already set up on the sink and appointment was confirmed by phone the morning of said appointment) Then at the end of so called consultation I was told to pay a $250 fee that would be added to my account when/if I chose to go through with procedure —— like I would ever consider coming back ? Complete waste of time !!! Stay away!!!
Apparently they havent been taking my insurance for a while and lied about it, so i was wrongfully billed $300. I had to call 2 separate offices to get it cleared. Other than that, the actual service was quick and my doctor was nice and answered all of my skin questions, but I wont be returning.

The staff is amazing, as my great experience began upon entering the facility. As a new patient, the forms were not overwhelming, just the necessary information. Also, Victoria addressed my concerns and ensured I understood how they would be addressed. Heres to great skin for the summer!!!
They were great. I had a skin issue pop up overnight (literally) that I needed to get taken care of. They were able to schedule me right away and took care of the issue. Very professional and knowledgeable. Big thanks to Mary and her team for taking care of me.
Today was my first time coming here and let me start off that this office is so clean and not to mention the staff is very nice and professional! The front desk receptionist took my information right away. I saw Victoria and her medical assistant I forgot her name but they were both very attentive and made me feel so comfortable right away! I cant wait to return and see them again. I hope my skin issue can be resolved. But Im sure with Victorias expertise it can very well be managed!!!
I had my appointment wednesday… i called yesterday to ff up my prescriptions because until now i havent gotten my meds which during my visit they said would be sent to my home. I spoke with the pharmacist a day after who notified me re:insurrance coverage for my meds and that they would need the prescriber to find a replacement which would then be covered… i called the clinic yesterday to ff up receptionist said they will take care of it but until now i hAvent got any updates or if ill ever receive my meds or should i just waste money to see another doctor again which will take another day from me from work.

I was in the area and decided to walk in to make an appointment to my luck they were able to get me in right away. Russian lady at the front desk (forgot her name) is so nice, she chatted with me till I was called in the room. Assistant was very sweet. Victoria, was very informative and was able to pin point what could possibly be causing my acne. Great experience.

Overall an excellent experience with the place.After calling 4 other places and hearing no appointments available till mid October calling this office was almost no hope left but I was proven wrong, I got an appointment that same day, office I went to in Oceanside has plenty of parking, inside is very clean and pleasant. My problem that I came in was addressed right there and then.Overall definitely recommend !
It is easy to schedule appointments with them. They are very accommodating. The team is efficient and the doctor is comprehensive. I appreciate the time she takes with both myself and my daughter.

This was my first time going to a dermatologist so I was careful in picking the one I would be going to.I was very excited and anxious to say the least. Always a pleasure to visit this place. Dr Victoria LaSala is always takes her time and very knowledgeable. The front desk Lady has great sense of Humor. And the nurses are great. Its worth of an hour drive to this location.
Once again far exceeded my expectations. I have suffered rosacea most of my life. Today I received my first laser treatment. Cant wait to see the final results. Dr. LaSalle and the entire staff are top notch. You never feel rushed and everything is explained in detail.
The administrative staff are incompetent and as the gatekeepers it really ruins the experience before you even see the physician. I contacted the office using the SINGLE contact number for all locations and scheduled my first appointment. Because of my busy schedule, I requested a telederm appointment. The staff member took my information and booked the appointment for the next day. When it was time for my appointment, I realized then that I didn’t receive the link to log in so I called the office number. After holding for about 15 mins, a staff member told me my appointment was mistakenly scheduled as an in person visit, furthermore the staff member from the day prior forgot to send me the new patient registration documents so I can’t be seen anyway! What a waste of time! Couldn’t someone CALL me to advise me?After calming down, I called back to schedule a second visit, explaining that my first experience was quite bad but honestly , I really needed a prescription filled because I was having an allergic reaction, and this office was the only one who could see me on such short notice. Can you believe after booking the second appointment for 9:10am today, not only did they fail to take my financial information or even tell me it was required before seeing the doctor, no one picked up the phone to navigate me through the proper channels to pay the copay, so after 4 calls and 40 mins of holding on the telederm portal, I was finally able to see the physician for maybe 4 mins. I expressed my frustration and the she said “well sorry it wasn’t me”...umm talk about ZERO accountability! It was your organization that failed me...sorry if I came across as blaming you (insert sarcasm here) but a better response would have been “let me get a manager of the support staff after we’re done here to help rectify this situation.”I will not be returning to this organization. My time is just was valuable and shouldn’t be taken for granted.#patientsfirst

Do not go here.. had a small thing removed from my arm which is still there after healing. Also keep receiving bills from various labs, as well as the provider. Fully insured and have already received four out of pocket bills. Beware!
Professional staff and very clean environment. The doctor was a vibrant young lady that was knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all our questions and will start diagnostic testing which no other doctor even tried.
Had a very strange experience with this place. I made an appointment for something specific that was bothering me for a little while. It’s a super clean place, nice enough staff, and the doctor seemed kind and knowledgeable enough. She prescribed me something to help, I left, and days later my pharmacy called and told me they still didn’t have what the doctor prescribed because my insurance doesn’t cover it and the dermatologist office wasnt answering any of their calls to try and get an alternative. So then I tried calling them myself multiple times and the phone kept ringing without any answer. Around a day or two later, my issue got way worse and I ended up having to book an appointment at a different dermatologist to finally get my problem taken care of. Very bizarre, not sure what’s stopping them from answering their phone, but it was extremely unhelpful to my situation.

Welcoming as soon as l you enter the door when I brought my 10 month old daughter for a rash. Front desk polite. Provider was knowledgeable and efficient.
Waited an hour, the doctor was okay, but barely examined my skin and rather than looking to see what was wrong, asked me only about my concerns. After about 5 minutes, my appointment was done. It felt rushed and after I paid my copay, I asked to see the doctor again as I felt I wasn’t examples thoroughly. The lady argued with me saying she had other patients with appointments and told me I’d have to come back. Completely disappointed and anxious about having to return. She was hard, abrasive, and angry.

2nd time back there taking off from work both times. First time no one was available to see me and I was told I should have called first even though I had a confirmes appointment. Both women at the desk were unhelpful and quick to blame me.
Came here for laser and absolutely loved my first appointment. Very clean and the staff are all very helpful. I’ve been coming back for my rounds of laser as well as getting my moles checked.

So this place is great . The 5 stars can tell you that much, heres why . Starting off with the receptionist, Martha , amazing girl super thorough and very eager to help you . Easy on the eyes too. Then her manager , a sweet Russian who makes a dermo visit alott of fun. Then i got inside to the doctor who really took care of me , went above and beyond gave me some great samples and even took care of some pimples i Couldnt get because of deep they were , anything i had im sure i couldve asked and she wouldve tried her absolute best 10/10 a hundred precent id recommend Ive never met a dermo office like this. Also the static water was a plus

Horrible...made an appointment over the phone where they asked my health care provider. Had to wait 2 weeks for appointment. When I got there, they said that of their 18 locations theirs in Oceanside was the only one to NOT take Empire. They said the closest was in Brooklyn! Ridiculous!!

Horrible customer service. Been seeing dr for a month and condition is getting worse. No possible way of getting hold of dr. Been trying for 5 days to get a hold of dr with zero luck. Not to mention they are not even open sat,sun or Monday. Would but zero stars if I could. Dont even think of calling that number no one ever answers.
They dont pick up the phone. Im a new patient and was on hold for 10 min. After 10 min someone hung up the phone. I decided to call again because I really needed some information and they just kept putting me on hold. A total of 25 min wasted with no answer. Unprofessional

Dr. Jessica Newburger is absolutely wonderful actually took my whole family there on different occasions from poison ivy too skin tags she always New what the problem was and took care of it she’s very knowledgeable and easy to talk to I would recommend her to anybody

2022-04-11I made an appointment here for my partner. It was a delightful experience. Booking was a breeze! Viewing availability for each office simultaneously made options clear. The office was clean and well kept. Masks were provided to us. We forgot them. He was seen by PA Mary Valinotti. Knowledgeable and efficient! She assessed each of his concerns with ease. It’s very hard for him being in a clinical setting but he’s looking forward to follow up treatments with her.

2022-06-06This practice is truly amazing. Offices are spotless, I had an afternoon appointment on a Sunday but went earlier. I was put into a room within 5 minutes. Martha Torres was wonderful. She explained what my issue may be and did a biopsy. I have never been as pleased with a doctors office as I was today. Highly recommend this facility.

Greeted by medical tech Ava who took history and immediately saw the PA Martha Torres who was welcoming professional who listened to the issue and explained everything she was doing and why.Will definitely be returning and appreciate the late hours and weekend hours

The medical professionals were very knowledgeable and gave me options on the way I prefer to get my procedure done and they made me very comfortable. 2022-03-31Saw Martha Torres and I’m super happy with her bedside manner. She is super sweet and knowledgeable (knew exactly what I used to treat my skin before I even mentioned it). The place is cute too. Everyone there is super kind and helpful.

2022-06-16I loved my experience at Dermatology Specialists. The staff are friendly and attentive. The office is beautifully furnished. I felt so comfortable filling out my medical forms and enjoyed the complimentary skin care products. Thank you! The best part of my visit was being seen and treated by Dr. Mary Valinotti. She is kind, knowledgeable, and hands on. She provided me with helpful information and prescriptions for my skin. Furthermore, she immediately began treatment on my skin! I’m very grateful for her and excited for my skin care journey under her expertise and care. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Mary Valinotti

2022-04-14People at the front desk were friendly. I was given a little flack about the two free gifts they were giving out if you write a review. I just put stars and when I showed them a lady atvthe front desk said, she has to write a revi to get the gifts. I wrote this review and then explained to her I only recieved one of the two gifts posted. She said that was the last one and it says while supplies last ( said in a matter of fact way) no smiles this time.Wow👀.However, I was examined by the PA, she was very knowledgeable and gave me great advise on how to take care of my skin.

2022-07-19I had a great experience with the Dermatologist Specialist’s office in Oceanside. PA Torres addressed all my concerns regarding my skin condition. I was able to obtain the proper treatment needed to improve my daily life.
