The Docksider in other cities:
This restaurant is a racist! We were 4 families who came there today. We were 20 Asians.10 kids.We were all not happy. Nobody came to take our orders. We have been sitting there for a long time. It was cold and we have 10 kids with us. The waiters just ignored us. We waited for an hour. And we had to call them so they could take our orders. We felt so bad. They prioritized taking orders of other people.( caucasians). The waiters were so nice to them but not to us. Nobody came to take our orders. And we requested if we could sit inside because the kids were cold( we saw vacant tables). They said it is not available. It took us an hour to place an order because we had to call a waiter. I wish you would take care of us- we are asians but we are a family of “ nurses” who take care of patients here in the states- during covid times. We don’t deserve this treatment. We are also human beings.
A nice easy walk from our cabin, but we could have easily be arrived by boat at one of the five convenient docks. I had a steak and my wife had a fresh beet and chicken salad. My steak and baked potato arrived with speed and very hot, even though we were sitting lakeside. Strongly recommended whether a tourist like me or even a local, and ask for Molly! She will take great care of you!
The views are lovely but the food was mediocre at bestt. Spend $100 for two with a round of drinks. Stuffed sole had NO favor and the stuffing had a mushy texture. BBQ pork chops were adequate. Recommend just going for drinks and the views of Glenn Lake stay away from the rest.
Had to find our server 5 times. We were on the patio. 2 other parties there. Went inside to look for her and there was only 1 man in there. Had to ask for drinks, menus, give our food order, didnt have any silverware, no condiments. We wont be going back anytime soon.
So they say they are dog friendly but offered me a spot on the patio in the blazing sun and made a point of saying they wouldn’t be putting the umbrellas up. There were several open tables in the shade on the grass and when I asked to sit there was told no they aren’t seating there. Very disappointing. We left and won’t be back with or without our dog.
Second time here and very good. The portions are good for the prices. Brooke was our server this time. Talk about excellent service!! Always there when we needed something and anticipated our needs. The homemade blue cheese dressing was outstanding. Tried several of their signature drinks and none of them disappointed. The view is great and there was a nice breeze to help with the heat. If you’re in the area and don’t want to fight the crowds in Lake George for a lakeside view come here!!!
I suggested this place as I have dined here before and the experience was good. We had a party of 3 adults & an infant. We waited in line on a Monday about noon & was seated outside. Water was delivered & we mentioned that another person was coming but was in a car accident & would arrive shortly. We ordered an appetizer & drinks while we waited. The server came over & asked if we were ready to order & said we would wait for our other person to arrive. The server said we dont sit people till all parties are here..Again we said she was in a car accident. A few minutes later she returned & asked us to call the party to order a meal so they could take our orders. We reluctantly did. How RUDE!! So the person who was in the accident had to order while driving. We then ordered our meals hoping the food wasnt going to be cold when the person arrived. She arrived a few minutes later after the food arrived. The server didnt ask us if we wanted more drinks, and we had to ask other servers for silverware, our check & to go containers. We finally got the bill & to go container as the person w/ the infant was leaving. The food was good but the slow service & the rudeness of the server wasnt appreciated. There was no consideration for an unexpected event & it felt like they just want to hurry people in & out as quickly as possible. We continued to wait for the bill to be returned. Needless to say the server did not get the recommended tip due to slow service & the inconsiderate rudeness given. The owner needs to address this action and address social politeness and empathy. Im not sure if I would return. Poor customer service in my opinion!!
First time here. Delicious! Ate outside and it was very nice. They have patio heaters too which was a great touch as the sun went down and u could feel the coolness coming off the lake. The service was great, food came out fast and it was hot, the server Christina was wonderful and cheerful, we will definitely be back.
Whoever decorates here has Talent. The atmosphere is very welcoming with Country charm. Lots of twinkle lights that are NOT blazing LED lazers to the eyeballs!! We were here in the Fall so tons of colorful pumpkins and flowers and the food is great! Everyone was happy with their meal. The ambiance is what was needed and it delivered on a drab grey day!
Ate lunch with my daughter and wife out on the back lower deck... absolutely great food and polite service..the beer battered shrimp were huge!! Definitely a family friendly place to enjoy with out the craziness of Lake George Village! We definitely plan on coming again!!
We went for Valentines day and they had special dinner. It was delicious! Best stuffed clams i ever had! We were seated in the room right next to the lake and it was beautiful! Very warm inside as well! We have been there for lunch during summer and fall and have always loved it. Now i definitely will be back fir dinner and during winter its so nice
Service was very good my wife had a lobster roll she said it was excellent I had the steak it was done medium rare the way I ordered it but it was very dry no one could figure out why. I sent it back . First they asked me if I wanted something else I said no thank you. They took the steak plus desert off the check. The correct way to run a business. We returned the next night everything was fine.
Where do I begin...My daughter and grandkids chose this place to celebrate my birthday. It was last Thursday evening. Service & menu HORRIBLE. Ambiance FABULOUS. They didnt have any steak, the waitress said it was too long to cook. Yet they had hamburgers. ??? If you didnt want a sandwich, it was dinner time, you had to pick from fried food. My daughter and kids got the pizza, pictures of soda & wing special. She brought the two pictures of drinks and realized she goofed up as she put them down, that she brought lemonade instead of Pepsi. Both the BBQ and garlic parmesan were tasty and everyone enjoyed them. The pizza came and tasted like the kind you buy frozen warmed out of the box. It wasnt crispy at all....now she still hadnt brought my wine, so I asked for it. Everyone is finishing up, I decided to find her and ask where my meal was? She drops it off, saying you probably hate me because its your birthday and you didnt get your wine or your meal. Meanwhile, my fried shrimp with onion rings were overcooked.... they said both were beer battered and while the onion rings were I can tell you the shrimp was not. The cocktail sauce was delicious, it had a nice kick to it. The only reason it got 3 stars was the ambiance. Hopefully, they will change their website page so others arent as disappointed as I was.
Loved this place. Been living here for years and passed here but never went in. Was always hopping and parking lot was packed. Now I know why. Finally had a chance to take my lovely lady out for the night and we went here. Was an awesome experience. Whike we waited for a table we sat in adirondack chairs right off the lake wirh our mojitos. Once we were seated the food and staff were on point. Nice relaxing casual night out .
Great service, great staff. Tyler was our waiter. He was very attentive, and a pleasurable. Impressed with the staff with there thoroughness with cleaning each table and chair prior to the next customer sitting. Tables were situated 6ft and have the 6ft markers along the walk way as you enter the restaurant. The food was very tasty.
Lets call it Dine and Dash! We called before visiting this establishment on Saturday afternoon. Mind you it was after lunch & before the dinner shift. My husband and I were told it was an appropriate wait time of 25 minutes. We waited outside the dining area for 45 minutes plus. We were seated, ordered beverages, appetizers, dinner, more beverages and cocktails. I ordered dessert to go. Mind you, we were seated for the entire time less than 45 minutes. I ordered 1 more glass of wine. Then the owner sent her young waitress over to our table & asked if we could leave our table so she could seat another patron so she could make more money!! Really? I just paid $130.00 and gave your waitress a 30% plus tip and you have the audacity to disrespect your guests like this? Prior to us being seated my husband even went inside to the bar and asked if we could purchase beverages before they were able to seat us. He told my husband flat out No! If he ordered a drink he also had to order food at the bar regardless if we were waiting to be seated to dine. WHAT???Word of caution, this owner is not concerned about your satisfaction. In an atmosphere where every eating establishment wants and welcomes your patronage, do not give this fast food dine and dash outlet a second thought! Once you put your fork down, the disorganized inconsiderate owner will send one of her staff over and ask you to leave. She shoves the dirty work on her wait stsff. I confronted the owner who simply stated she had to do what she did in order to accommodate everyone that was in her wait line. No its called learn the trade of business organization! By the way, The Algonquin restaurant, Carsons. Dock Browns has never pulled that tacky stunt on their patrons. Shame on you!!
Not a good experience at all we only wanted to sit in the bar and were told to go around and wait to be seated ok thats fine...but the hostess said we would have to wait for the 2 big parties to be seated ahead of us...dont know how that had anything to do with 2 people sitting at the bar and then she had an awful attitude..bad experience. We left and went up the road to the old trading post ..much better
There is a great variety of dishes to choose from. There is literally something for everyone. I decided to order the steamed clam appetizer, The blue bomber drink and the lobster roll meal which came with an abundance of piping hot steak cut fries a pickle and side of Cole slaw. The clams were ok. They were fresh, however had a bit of an after taste. The lobster roll was perfect. It was a large portion of lobster salad served on a perfectly buttery toasted brioche roll. It was delicious. The French fries were great as well. Served piping hot. And my drink tasted amazing. The combination of great food, and great service combined with the beautiful scenery of Lake George made for a perfect meal. A must if ever in the area.
Food was ok. I had the twin pieces of fish with the scallop stuffing and it was ok. Very greasy though. Until I put lemon and pepper on it it really had no flavor. So thanks to the condiments the food tasted ok. Its mostly just bar food but being on the side of the lake is nice with the views. Service was good.
I think we should have read reviews posts on Yelp! before we ventured out to this restaurant because it appears that what we just experienced at this establishment was Obviously not Just a “bad night”. We aren’t even going to dwell on the server and her attitude because of an incorrect drink and incorrect meal that were delivered to the table. We understand that mistakes happen. Being blamed for the mistakes will take more Time to forget. We will also give a pass (grudgingly) to the other server who Felt the necessity to berate us when we asked a question about our bill. The person we cannot forgive, forget or give a pass to was the person who claimed to be the owner. She was rude and very unprofessional. She came to our table to Impolitely inform us that our server was the best she has and to again blame my friend for getting the wrong drink and food. We sat in stunned silence as we tried to digest what was happening. All we wanted to do was pay the bill and leave. We are giving this restaurant a one star rating because all three members of my dining party agreed that our meals Were good. However, if we are to give an honest rating it would be negative stars due to our Dining experience.
Ordered take-out May 2, 2020. Owner and staff were exceptionally pleasant. Setting is beautiful. Wait was long but we hadnt ordered ahead so no surprise there. It was ready exactly when they said it would be. Unfortunately that was the end of our good experience. We ordered 2 haddock baskets and a shrimp basket. The fish and shrimp were extremely overcooked, to the point where we couldnt cut the fish with plastic knife and fork. The sweet potato fries were okay but an extra $4 charge for each order. The regular fries were okay but someone should mention to them that fries in a sealed aluminum container are soggy after just a few minutes. Maybe their other food is better but you would think a restaurant named Docksider would have good seafood. Could be great but need some good help in the kitchen.
Amazing location!! Staff is ok friendly... they actually forgot to give us their specials menu so we ended up ordering from their very limited menu.. not sure what kind of menu it was.. come to find out their specials were fresh seafood.. duh! Share that with your customers before they order.. all was fried to death basically.. thats all
A beautiful setting, a little bit off the beaten path. We had lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon. Because we were there at an odd time, it was quiet, and very enjoyable. The food was delicious, drinks were good. It is a bit more expensive than some of the other area restaurants, but well worth it!
Not too many meals out that I remember, but this is one of them. We found this place while on vacation in Lake George, and will never pass up an opportunity to eat here now. Had a table on the lawn not far from the water. One of the best things about this stupid virus scare, spread out tables. If we were packed in like sardines I would not remember this place nearly as fondly. Food was good, waitress was great, I believe her name was Megan. Hopefully our next visit is just as nice.
As true tourists we relied heavily on Google for telling us where to get “real food” during our visit to Lake Glen. DOCKSIDE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Great staff, fun atmosphere (a little small, so plan accordingly) and the food was delicious! This spot has a great view, is family friendly, as well as having a solid bar. This hockey mom LOVED Dockside!
Food was very good, but I do not recommend it to anyone with a party of 5 or 6. They will cram all six of you into a small table for you to eat. We asked for a bigger seat and all of the waiters got moody at us for asking a simple question. All of the dishes, silverware, and cups all had mystery residue. We would eat here again if we had to.
I loved the docksider the view was great the decor was wonderful the food was good but the service we got from our waitress was fantastic she was just great . Friendly and funny and always ready to get us what we needed. I cant remember her name now but she had blonde hair and really beautiful blue eyes we will definitely be back to the docksider again.
Great place they are definitely doing the 6 foot distance and are able to seat to get you to a table immediately and theybare constantly cleaning and sanitizing the tables and the chairs and they have excellent food and very good service. I really enjoyed the view from the deck and felt like they appreciate their patrons. Would definitely recommend them.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Didnt have to wait very long for a table, and ended up with the best seat outdoors. Beautiful view. Food was great and service was good too. Husband got steak and lobster, I got the fried fish sampler. Everything was awesome. Reasonably priced. Definitely will go back when were in the area.
Went here with the family hoping for an authentic place by the lake. Staff was nice enough however the food was horrible. I got the fried fish platter and everything looked like it was pulled out of a bag and cooked and was absolutely disgusting. The other plate was salmon which was way over cooked and hard. We each got rolls with our dinners which were literally rock hard. The only thing that was decent was the steamed clams and my daughters pb&j. I will not be returning. Oh and extremely overpriced for the quality of food.
Access to dining area a bit confusing since they point you to the deck to enter. Side curtain covered entrance with sign there to wait to be seated. The night we were there light jackets were not enough for the covered deck even with the space heaters. Moved into the bar area for dinner and service was good. Healthy sized portions. Food was good, not great but they had German food on the menu for Octoberfest. Will go back again in warmer weather to enjoy the deck and lake view.
Big Tip!!! Get there early, even before 5pm. Fills up quickly and the line up is long. Nice chairs lakeside while waiting though. 5 stars for service...five stars for the view (especially during a lightning storm!)...3 stars for food. Large menu but the food was just average. Corn on the cobs always tough. Servers are great with the kids. Nice alternative to Lake George dining.
Dined here this evening. Our server was Shannon and we must say, she is the best server we have had in a long time. She was friendly, kind, smiled and gave the impression that she really enjoyed her job. She made sure we were happy with our meals and did not ignore us. We were early - but do hope she was able to continue serving others with that great personality.
I wish I could rate better. Beautiful setting but Mothers day food was nothing to brag about. Waitress made efforts to bring satisfying meal. She suggested a different new meal and it was better. We never complain - couldnt help it this time. Hope food quality improves.
This is great location overlooking Glen Lake. It was a beautiful fall day, so it was busier than they expected. So service was slow for some. But as always so pleasant. Food was great a spicey taco salad. And their wine by the glass was an unexpected treat. Wonderful place. A not so hidden gem.
Efficient and friendly service. An abundance of choices on the menus and my brother who was visiting us from Arizona was quite amused and thrilled with his opportunity to drink Adirondack naked beer. Loved our time there. It will be our go to place to entertain guests from out of town and a favorite just for us.
The food was very good, very pretty setting. We were looking forward to going to this restaurant, however, a table was cleared for us and we told it was okay to sit down. We waited 25 minutes and no one acknowledged us. Others were seated and served! Not until someone in our party got up and asked why no one had come to our table, did a waiter finally come over. He said our table was never put on their list. We found this to be a poor excuse as we were told in the beginning our table was ready! Very poor service on their part.
My fiancé and I were headed to lunch for a long overdue date night. We have always lived in the area and somehow we never once ate at The Docksider so an impromptu late lunch turned out to be one of the best experiences weve ever had. When we arrived we were sat almost immediately underneath the canopy closest to the lake. The astonishing lake view combined with a gentle early July breeze made for a perfect setting. Our waitress took our order in a very timely manner. Lesley I believe her name was. We ordered some beer battered onion pedals to start and they arrived hot and ready about the same time our drinks arrived at the table which seemed to be only a few short minutes. Now typically for restaurants in the area most people can expect to pay a small fortune for a meal and over priced drinks, and the food may not even be that decent. Most places have their shortcomings in some way, shape or form. So initially I was a little skeptical at first about our meal. But my expectations were conpletely blown out of the water in which we practically sat right on top of! The onion pedals were the perfect amount of crispy and not too greasy. I ordered the monte cristo which came with fries and my fiancé played it safe and got a buffalo chicken wrap. To drink I had a hard cider and my fiancé ordered a pineapple upside down cake. The monte cristo was buried underneath a pile of delicious hand cut fries that I ate through as if it were concealing the holy grail of food. The very first bite of my Monte Cristo sent me over the moon and the maple syrup that it came with took it to another level. As I was indulging in my sandwich like a fat kid in a candy store, my fiancé was enjoying her chicken wrap but mentioned wanting some ranch to dip it in. Then almost as if out of nowhere, Lesley appeared at our table and asked if we needed any sauces or anything. When she came back to the table only a few seconds later, I was squeezing out the last drops of ketchup on my plate for my fries. She not only had my fiances ranch in one hand, but a brand new bottle of Ketchup in the other. She practically read our minds and aside from our orders we didnt have to ask for a single thing for the entire duration of our visit! By the time we received the check I was already half prepared for a hefty tab. To my surprise, our tab was less than what we would typically pay at the big food chains in the area. Im talking about you, yee haw steakhouse! We will definitely be going to the docksider more often! Great views, great food, great service! PERIOD.
Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and I ordered two chicken caesar wraps, the chicken pieces inside were so big you couldnt even chew it. It was very dry, had to ask for more Caesar dressing. I had to take the chicken out cut it up into smaller pieces mix it up put it back in the wrap. Not consistent with their food ever there.
Horrible service and the food was gross. Took a long time to get seated. Took a long time to have a waitress come to the table. Waitresses make a huge deal out of small asks and were rude. Neglected by staff. No silverware on half the places. Hot Chicken wings tasted plain and looked like they were half eaten. Buffalo chicken wrap was white with no flavor. Extra buffalo sauce tasted more like bbq sauce. Steamers were eh. Dr pepper tasted like sink water. Bad experience. 0/5 stars. Mints were good on the way out :)
Valentines day. Dinner. In and out in less than an hour. No romance. Quantity not quality. App. Served salad on top entree on top. Not even a chance to enjoy one course when another was on the table. Salad wilted. Main course cold. Too much too soonSlow down and allow the diners to enjoy a special night out. Add a dessert. Get Them In Get Them Out. Doesnt work . WIll not Return. Suggestion plan better. Overheard in parking as many took home their meals. Not good too fast. Service staff very friendly. Just doing their job. So sorry my Valentine Dinner LACKED EVERYTHING.
OOok the location and view was beautiful and the atmosphere was really pleasant, but I was really disappointed with the food. My daughter ordered the fried clams and fries, and it was a disgrace. First of all the waitress shouldnt had bring out a meal thats incomplete with only 6 or 7 peices of fried clams and missing French fries then apologizing for it. Just thought that was inconsiderate and very rude. It was bad enough we had to wait over an hour for fried seafood. Food wasnt that great and the portion size was just a joke. Only good thing your getting about this place is a nice view of the lake.
I love the atmosphere and the fact that they take Covid seriously and do a great job sanitizing after each dining party. Their beet salad is fantastic and the food, in general, is tasty and reasonably priced. However, the Oktoberfest sauerbraten left me wanting. As a pot roast, it was delicious. It didnt quite have the right amount of marinating to make it a true sauerbraten, though, nor was the gravy the true German style sauerbraten gravy-made w a little coffee for extra flavor!
The Lake George area has been my favorite spot to vacation for about 20 years. I always make a point of having dinner at least once a trip at the docksider. The food is very good at a reasonable price. The service is sometimes a little slow if the place is packed but if you are not in a hurry it is worth it. Its a beautiful location on the water so who cares. I would highly recommend it.
I was pretty disappointed with a recent visit, 8/27/19, to The Docksider. My wife and I decided to have a date night and after hearing good reviews in the past, picked here.We were seated on the patio which would have been great since we were next to the water. We waited for over fifteen minutes for staff to come to our table. Nobody even stopped by despite looking at us several times sitting there with our menus on the table. We decided to leave after the long wait. I’m hoping this is an isolated incident but several people have shared their negative experiences with us since yesterday. I will let them share their own experience and write their own review.
Dont eat here unless you want to die of food poisoning! My kids are horribly sick and so is my Husband! They served me an expired beverage, and all of the food was deep fried to cover the fact it was either canned, or close to expiration while it was probably frozen food. The wait staff is horribly behaved, I watched a woman chase an unsatisfied customer out of the resturaunt. The wait staff is also under age children, which is completely unprofessional. Dont go here unless you support child labor, and winding up in the hospital over over priced, rotten food! Almost 200$ for the entire meal and it was all deep fried! Disgusting!
Resturant setting was beautiful on a nice evening. Very busy but quickly seated. Our waitress Emily was very busy, but pleasant when she took our drink order. Drinks didnt arrive as ordered, she said she would correct and didnt, as a matter of fact we never got the refills when we requested. One in our party had a specific and reasonable request for condiments. More than 20 mins later our request was not met. When Emily finally did show up she had the requested condiment. We were almost done with our dinner., and she couldnt understand why we were put off, she again said she was really busy and she had a lot of tables; again it was about her not us her customers. A lot of excuses not much service. The final act was she pointed out our group to a bus person and had her deliver the check.Restaurant 5, food 4, service 1.
This restaurant is awesome! We went for dinner one night and came back for lunch the next day. We loved the food so much we went back for dinner again! The steamed clams were fantastic. So were the clam strips. Do yourself a favor and try The Docksider. You will not be disappointed!!!
They serve a MASSIVE taco salad that I am very impressed with. We sat out back with the heaters running. It was cozy and comfortable. Only downside I can think of is there could be a little more light in the back dining area. We will definitely visit again when in the area.
The Docksider Restaurant is our go-to place in the summer when we are in the Lake George-Glen Lake region! They have a nice deck and even nicer patio area, both with terrific views of Glen Lake. Food is great and Chris and her staff make you feel like youve been friends for years. A terrific place to enjoy the summer eating outside.
Used to like going here but I guess we should have stuck to the pizza and wing special cause when you start getting other food it gets expensive. Pitcher of soda is 8.95 asked for a second one cause the first one was nothing but ice only got two glasses of actual soda made me pay for both after approaching waitress about it and being told that is how it is.
DO NOT go here with a large group. Round tables so you cant sit together (not a big deal) but our group was 17 people and even though we were all at different tables they decided they wanted to bring all of our food out at the same time.... So we were there for TWO HOURS before getting our food. Once the food was out, it was delicious - so Im told, however, my food never came out. The waitress tells me, about 5 minutes after everyone has begun eating, that the chef put in Veal Parmigiana instead of Chicken Parmigiana, so they had to remake it (& my meal was comped) - I would have eaten the Veal Parm, but I guess that wasnt an option? Well then they rush to remake the food... Once I get it, the chicken is very much raw in the middle. You could tell at this point that the waitress was beyond frustrated with the kitchen. So she brings it back to the kitchen and by this point 90% of the people I am with are just about done with their meal. So she asks if I want to just order something quicker. I get the Chicken Caesar wrap with sweet potato fries, which comes out quickly, and I get it to-go. Well when I open it later I was disappointed to find regular fries... And the chicken wrap was pathetically dry and tasteless. I must have drawn a short straw somewhere.Other than slow/lack of service, the rest of the group I was with was happy with the food.
This is a favorite spot for us, being on the lake, and gloriously landscaped. Dining al fresco, its possible to bring canine members of the family, and the food is consistently good.On a recent special occasion, the tab for 4, including adult beverages, came to about $100. Approved menu choices include the fishermans platter, the tenderloin sliders, and this reviewers favorite, the baked haddock with cheddar crumb topping. Dinner salads were fresh and generously portioned, and seasonal corn on the cob was perfect and enjoyed by all!!Looking forward to going back!
Painfully slow service. Indifferent young staff. Food was decent. We arrived expecting an hour wait, waited the hour despite empty tables before being seated. Waitress was slow to take the order and we were served after a table which was seated 45min after us. The waitress was anode and the manager was apologetic, but there was no offer for a comp. Just plain disappointed.
Food was alright. We were charged for bread during our meal. (Huh?!) Bread is always complimentary. Service was good to excellent, nice waiter, I tipped more than 20% since it was New Years Eve. We had a full meal, including coffee and desserts. Before we could finish our coffee and desserts, the owner, not named, demanded that we leave because a party of 12 was waiting to be seated. What kind of insensitive, money grubbing attitude is this? She fake apologized for her boorishness. She said that she expects her reservations (yes, we had a res.) to be 1 1/2 hours. Had we known that, we would have certainly NOT ordered dessert and coffee so that we could make sure about her next reservations convenience. We dont expect to be treated like heres your hat, whats your hurry? Was our $155 not as important as others?
Was a regular customer but this place has gone downhill drastically over the past year. This first major turnoff was when they seated a party next to us with a large dog. The dog, while drooling, watched me eat my entire meal and his owners kept repeating hes not going to give you a bite? Dogs dont belong at restaurants and that alone is a reason my wife and I wont return. The service was horrible and they made 4 mistakes on our orders. We asked for separate checks and they refused. They said they would break down the check for us but just gave us a handwritten check with all the drinks totaled so we could not break it down.
Dont plan on sitting down and ordering appetizers while youre waiting 5 minutes for another couple. They asked us to leave the table even though they were NOT busy at all. They missed out on appetizers, meals, drinks and desserts for 4 people. We had been going there for years, but after being treated like that we will NEVER GO BACK again. Even after my husband talked to the manager, they said it was their policy and basically too bad. F*** them! I will tell everyone how we were treated and trust me they just lost a lot of business.
I am very disappointed we just order for pick up and thier was no tarter sauce for my scalllops, ketchup, forks or napkins in the bag. My sons burger was plain even thou i order it with some itmes it had a rubber texture. The service was terrible not friendly at all maybe because we are Latinos and not sure if staff is used to diversity.
They sucked...rude staff. We had a party of six wait 30 min only to have the manager attempt to jam us together at too small a table. She told us we could leave as she had plenty of people who would use the table. I do not recommend you give your money to a place that thinks it your privilege to pay for poor treatment and rude service. Shame on you Docksiders.
Service was terrible, food was cold. Several people didnt receive what they ordered. We werent the only people upset at the service that night. Waited several hours from when we ordered food to when it was served. Waiter never came back to ask how it was or to refill glasses. Just overall a terrible experience. Doubt that Ill be visiting them again.
Previous years visiting this restaurant underwhelmed me with its service. We return because of the views on the lake and it was a tradition to eat here. We will not be returning to this restaurant in the future based on exposure to its management this time. Rude, condescending, and apathetic are the kindest words I can apply.
I went here tonight for the first time, along with two friends. I won’t be back and I won’t recommend it to anyone. The atmosphere and location were impressive, but that’s the only good part about this review.Friend #1 orders a garden salad and chicken cordon bleu.I wasn’t terribly hungry, so I order a cup of clam chowder and a 10-piece shrimp cocktail. The waitress looks at me and says, “Is that it?”Friend #2 has trouble deciding what to order, so she asks the waitress for a recommendation. The waitress says, snidely, “Well, that depends on what you like.” and nothing further. Friend #2 orders a cheeseburger club. The waitress returns five minutes later. No chicken cordon bleu. Friend #1 asks for a seafood platter. None of that either. She then asks whether the calamari is fresh or frozen. “All of our seafood is frozen.” (Duly noted!) My friend orders coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp and my soup and shrimp cocktail arrive, but not the cheeseburger club Friend #2 had ordered. The waitress says the burger is being cooked right now.At this point, two of our party have all of their food, and one has none. The odd part of this is that, except for the coconut shrimp, none of the food we have so far is cooked to order. The salad, the soup, and the shrimp cocktail could have been brought out at any time, and deep-frying shrimp and dumping them on a plate takes about 3 minutes. This is not a difficult order to coordinate.15-20 minutes go by. Still no burger, and the two of us who have food are almost done eating. The waitress has also vanished completely from the dining room, so Friend #1 goes to investigate. Whomever she talked to asked for the name of our waitress. My friend doesn’t know, because the waitress never introduced herself, then is told the burger is cooking right now. Finally, the waitress arrives with the burger and puts it down on the table. We ask for the check, and she turns around and walks away. No apology for the delay, no “How is everything?”, no “Can I get you anything else?”The check arrives. Friend #1 notices that we were charged $12.95 for her coconut shrimp; she thinks the menu said it was $9.95. I grab a menu and see coconut shrimp for $9.95. Friend #1 gets up again and approaches the hostess/manager to get the bill corrected and tell her about the horrible level of service. The waitress suddenly appears from wherever she has been and joins the conversation. It turns out there is a coconut shrimp appetizer and a coconut shrimp entree. Fair enough, but you’d think the waitress would have asked which of the identically-named menu items my friend was ordering. Then hostess/manager starts bickering with Friend #1, defending the waitress, saying she has been working here for years and that’s it’s been a long day. My friend, who is also a waitress, says that’s no excuse for the poor service. She was just seeking clarification on the bill and registering a complaint, but the hostess/manager ended it by saying, I’m going to just comp your check, because that’s apparently what you want me to do.”Whatever. Thanks for the frozen shrimp.
Poor service. Food was great but sat there while many came after us and were served and left. Still waiting for to go bags and bill over 40 min. Staff very annoyed when we went to desk to ask for our bill after we had already gotten up to get to go containers and bill which were never brought to us.
Tried calling the restaurant to see how busy they are and the lady on the phone was extremely rude and obnoxious for no reason. i started the call with a really nice tone and she was being catty to the CUSTOMER the entire time. don’t know why she’s employed in a customer service job if she can’t even do her job properly. gives a bad name to your restaurant even before walking in.

2021-09-09Gorgeous location, phenomenal staff & mouthwatering delicious food. The Docksider is located a little bit off the beaten path, but it’s worth it just to find this place. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the owner was sweet and kind and the food was beyond delicious!! I had to take 1 million photos just because of how gorgeous the location alone was. Christine the owner also maintains a beautiful garden all along the property. It takes your breath away. If I’m ever in this area again I will definitely be paying the Dockesider a visit. I highly recommend it to anyone.

2022-07-01The food was delicious but the waitress was super slow (Lesley). We saw her 3 times (take our order, drop off drinks, then to drop off the food) then when we saw her the 4th time she brought over the checks. She never checked on us to see if we wanted extras or anything, so we just finished eating and waited for her to come back. Which felt like an eternity, we were making bets about how long it would take her. Eventually after about 30 mins we got her to bring the checks over. So 4 stars for the food -1 for the service.

Friendly staff, fast service, decent food.I had a chicken Caesar salad that was fine, not outstanding, needed a more flavorful dressing.Do go, its worth it to see for yourself if this place is for you!The bar has that, everybody knows your name feel.

2021-09-07Stopped in for a relaxing lunch on the lake. The views from the patio were beautiful. My friend and I ordered a pizza, some pretzel sticks, and a couple drinks. Im giving it 4 stars because the pretzel sticks and the pizza came out at the same time, and it took almost 30 minutes. On the other hand, the food was very good and the server was very nice. I would definitely eat here again though.

2022-04-05I am allergic to gluten, dairy, apples, and nuts and they made sure I was completely taken care of. They had gluten free roll options, made my food in its own area. Super nice and attentive, felt like I was at my hometown bar with my friends even though it was the first time being there!
