Was referred here by work EAP. About a month ago, had a phone appointment with a woman working out of Cortland who, after twenty minutes, pawned me off to another counselor that I would have to wait a month to speak to. After that month wait, I received a call six minutes before the appointed time stating that the counselor was unable to partake in the scheduled session. After stating my concern, the receptionist forwarded me to a supervisors voicemail wherein I left a message and am currently waiting a response.Luckily, I am an adult and can find ways to cope and survive. Id like to point out, however, the name of the facility to which were considering. Family and Childrens Society. Children. If this facility were to be a childs only source for help then I cant imagine the sense of fear, hopelessness and general disregard that a little one and their family could feel at the other end of a phone the just wont ring.

The lovely lady who handled my intake appointment was very wonderful, but I literally never got to talk to my therapist at all. I was cancelled on and they left one message that I never received to say so, and I had to reschedule another three weeks out. When my next appointment rolled around, I once again received no call, and when I called the office, I was transferred to the after-hours office instead, because they were closed. Even if my therapist was working from home, I had no way of contacting them. I have lost faith in their services and will not be contacting them again, which is annoying, because the intake appointment took a very long time.EDIT: I did eventually get a therapist, but when my therapist left the practice, it was up to me to leave multiple messages on the directors voicemail until I finally got a call back. I still have not heard from my new therapist, but Ive added 1 extra star, since when I explained what happened in the past, everyone was very apologetic and helpful.

When working in the mental health field especially working with kids and young adults getting in touch with a doctor shouldnt be that difficult. Having to go thru a secretary (Roxy) who is not a medical professional at all just a secretary, messages shouldnt have to go thru them especially when they spend more time away from the desk instead of answering the phone like they are suppose to. And her inability to even relay a message, and lets also mention the fact that she straight lied when she said she left a message on my phone.. she NEVER called. It took me 2 days and 5 phone calls to tell me they want to wait for her appt which is another 5 days away. Very unprofessional and when called out they want to get a office manager (Mary) who just tries to brush it off and has the worst phone etiquette ever...

Even though they are a facility meant for mental health they don’t seem to understand that some times it’s hard for people to get out of bed to even go in. I was out of town and I called to reschedule and they told me no and then stopped seeing me, and bc of that my mental health has further gone on a decline.Edit: I was out of town and couldn’t return home bc at the time my mother had Covid and I was quarantined away from her for a month at the height of the pandemic. I was 2 and a half hours away from the facility.

If i cld give Negative Stars I would..I had the worst experience. The process to fill out paperwork, to hand it in in the lobby.. then if someone gets to the window before u even though that person was there first. They are taken as a priority that day. Oh did I forget to mention that they only take so many applications per day.. The wait time alone to get in. Then the unprofessionalism when I finally did walk in to make the appt to do, was turned into a 3 ring circus. I was given the run around for months. It took me to know someone who knew someone, to advocate for me to even walk in to make an appt. They then were absolutely rude and I was behind myself. I ahd to leave and go into a separate office of the director in order to get myself together in order to not embarrass my child. It was an absolute disaster. In the end to just be told they werent taking patients. I went somewhere else. It was absolutely atrocious. I would never recommend anyone this place for anything.

There were good and bad aspects to being a client. They have many therapists and doctors and serve many people of all ages. My doctor was great and seemed to really care how my treatment was progressing. However, therapist turn over was quite high and I was bounced through 5 different therapists during my year and a half with them. They do accept a wide variety of insurance plans, so that is a plus.

Finding a counselor you are comfortable with is difficult. My second counselor there was great but after a few months she left. From then until I stopped going there I was bounced through 4 more counselors because they kept leaving the practice. My med management practitioner however, was outstanding.

What a terrible waste of time!A disorganized mess! They should be discredited and stripped of all funding. Dont bother with them.If I could leave zero stars I would.

This organization is very unprofessional . They say that they will send an aide to your house and they will be there at 8:00 A.M., but no one ever shows up. They dont even have the common courtesy to call ahead and say No One will be at your house. When they do show up, it is unannounced.

If you need help go elsewhere, you wont find it at this place
