Fun show if you like bubbles and are okay with having them all over. or really, if you have little kids who really like bubbles There are a couple of videos played at the beginning and the end has flashing lights with the bubbles. But really, its about the bubbles themselves. There are a few opportunities for young kids to volunteer on stage. If you *really* like bubbles youll want tickets in the first row. Theres an opportunity to be inside a large bubble and have your photo taken (for $20, and not a great quality digital or print) before and after the show.
Saw this at dollywood and it was absolutely amazing!!! had to go back and watch it again it was so much fun!!! BUT they only pick children for their volunteers which is so disappointing. the 5 year olds you pick probably won’t even remember this and i was smiling and dancing better than all of those kids combined. freaking rigged.
Took my 11 year old here at his request on his first trip into the city. Pretty cool show. There are no bad seats, though the first five rows in the center get the best chance to interact. Youll see some impressive bubble and smoke work that will wow adults combined with giant bubbles and or an overwhelming volume of bubbles that will wow the kids. Look online for discounts, no need to pay full price.
My little one and I had the best time ever!! She did a wonderful job entertaining the audience. If you like bubbles this is a must see. They were not kidding when they said gazillion bubbles! Plus the story of the performer really warmed my heart. Please go see this show!
My son and I had an amazing time here! It was worth the 3+hr ride to visit NY. Every seat was a good seat except far at the top. Towards the later of the show bubbles came out the sides so the kids in the side sections could also pop the bubbles. The audience engagement was also great.
The show was pretty good but I felt it was a little expensive. Either way my daughter and her cousin enjoyed it and thats what counts. The only problem we had was with the bubble gun toy that I bought for my daughter, after we got home we realized it was defective so that was $30 down the drain . As for the show itself I would recommend you seeing it with your kids for sure
In summary, it’s a magic show. My 4-year old was wide-eyed during most of the show. I’d say 60% was good-to-great bubble show, 25% was story-telling and volunteers from the audience, and 15% was a FANTASTIC laser show. Pulsating music and fun visuals the whole time. Theater is intimate and sloped, all seats are great. Our host and star, Melody, was friendly and welcoming; she entered the audience twice for everyone’s delight. Paid $55/ticket since Christmas week so no discounts; I think this was a little steep for the product but I understand the cost and would pay $35. I felt the audience participation was nice but I think it could have been streamlined a bit, it tended to slow down the momentum of the show; it did create some cute and funny moments, however. Several moments of insanely wild bubble showers from the stage into the audience (hence the name) were exciting for all. Overall, it was a fun show and an interesting experience, if a bit pricey.
I thought the show was nice and would have given 5 stars had the seats been better. The email confirmation says to show up early as the seats are not assigned, we arrived 30 minutes early to get good seats to find out they were pre printed and assigned. We were seated on the front row but on the side (6 seats in our party plus 1 lap seat). We asked if we could switch and were instructed that the only availability was in the center towards the back. The staff stated it was better to stay where we were. The view was ok and we were able to see the show easily with only partial obstruction from the handrail. The bubbles primarily go towards the center, or sides of the center, but not the sides of the theater.Melody is very talented but focuses on the center seating area, she did look towards the sides, while still sending bubbles towards the middle section. The laser show was also pretty good and choreographed very well. The end when the bubbles go thruout the theater is where we recieved some bubbles by us.Being in the front area was too close to the speakers (they arent mounted up but at face level when sitting) although my 2 year old was able to dance around in the space when music was playing. The smoke machine was also excessive in our face which is understandable when seeing in the front, but without the trade of off reaching the bubbles was just annoying. The children sitting closer to the aisle (3 seats) enjoyed immensely, while the children closest to the wall (3 seats) didnt enjoy it as much and even used the shirt over mouth to breathe when the smoke was at full strength.I did go back up to the box office and was told they were sold out, and seats fill in as they allow late seating. I was none the less disheartened when I saw so many open seats in the center section 3-7 rows. Considering we were sitting sideways in order to see the show, were couldnt help but notice the vacancies.Again the show itself was great, but were couldnt really enjoy it properly.
I really thought this show was going to be oriented towards smaller audiences, but I was pleasantly surprised. This particular show was performed by Ana and she executed this very nicely. I thought she was very engaging and had the whole audience involved throughout the snow. I would say the show is geared towards smaller audiences 12+ months. The laser show towards the end was also executed with finese and is great entertainment for all audiences. Seating starts about 30 minutes before the venue starts. If you have strollers, you do have to check them in downstairs, to the coat check-in, and then take the escalator one floor up. Make sure you have some money and the fee for check in is $1.00. I dont usually care money and had to dig for some spare change!! Enjoy the show.
Very nice show, went with 3 little people. My other adult was only partially vaccinated. Currently awaiting my refund for the unused ticket. Now the show was very nice, little ones truly enjoyed. My 4 year old was actually selected to go on stage. She was so excited. Outside of the minor mixup , it was overall a good show. They enjoyed it so it was fine. They loved being put inside a bubble.
Pretty cool and visually impressive. Took our 7yr. old granddaughter and she loved it.Spend what you want and sit where you want .... We sat front row, dead center, and we experienced what a gazillion bubbles looks and feels like; so take that recommendation or not.The bubbles are a little sticky but not bad. The theater is small and the family running the show have a cool thing going on.
Great show for kids, my 4 and 6 year old enjoyed the show very much.Advice - if your kid want to go up to the stage make sure he/she isn’t on your lap and able to walk/sit by themselves. If they are sitting on someone’s lap is not very likely they will be picked. Also there is a $20 fee for taking picture in the bubble, is fun and is $20 per picture so you can have your whole family if all of you will fit into the square. Well worth it I think.
(Spoiler alert from the 3rd paragraph)Depending on what your children love, it could be total awesomeness or overwhelmingly annoying. My 1.5 yo loved bubbles and she lost it (in a very happy way) right at the beginning. So, if your children crave obsessive amount of bubbles, they will LOVE this. It was interactive. Lots of lucky children got on stage to have bubble fun.If your children only like to see bubbles without getting messy, choose back seats. Otherwise, it’s gonna get really sticky. I swear that we had enough soap to shower only if they hosed us water as well.(2nd row) we definitely inhaled some soapy water, no doubt. If your children don’t do well while hearing other children screaming like crazy, this is the show you should avoid.Melody was talented and fun. Her interaction with the children was great. I wasn’t too crazy about the laser part. Actually, after realizing more and more bubbles to come, my 1.5 yo started to say “all done bubbles” 25 min after the show. Overall she enjoyed the show very much. Sometimes when other children were screaming like crazy, she got scared and cried...I spent $79 for my ticket, $20 for her “lap seat”(It wasn’t full and she ended up having her own seat right next to me), plus tax. It was worth the experience and I was glad we did it.
Ana Yang was amazing! My 3 year old loved it and we loved it as well! Fun for adults and made us feel like children again! My daughter krystan was lucky enough to go on stage! Ana Yang was very interactive with the audience and many kids got a chance to go up on stage! We sat in the front row center and it was WORTH IT! My daughter got a chance to pop a lot of bubbles and the audience in the back got a chance to touch many bubbles as well. The laser show was great and her tricks had us in awe! A must see with your little one (s) indeed! 5 stars!!!!!!!! We even got a picture of our little one inside of a bubble! Will see again
This show was amazing. I took my 2 1/2 year old and he enjoyed it a lot. Words of Advice if you really want your little ones to guarantee enjoy the show be sure to get center row ceating closer to the stage the better. (Thank me later) Not even the offside front rows would be good. Why you ask. Well because there are bubbles through out the show but if youre off to the sides you only interact with the bubble during the Gazzillion bubble part of the show when the entire theater is engulfed with bubbles. That happens more towards the end so for the other 45 minutes your kid will be watching all the fun the kids in the middle row is having.
You can get your picture taken inside a large bubble for an additional fee before and after the show. About 2 adults and 2 small kids can fit in the big bubble. Most bubbles made by the performer only reached the center of the first 2 rows. If you want a lot of bubbles go for the front 2 rows of center seats. The first row in the center will get you lots and lots of bubbles. The performer looked for volunteers to join her show from the seats further back. Floors are slippery carpet - wet with bubble juice. At the end of the performance there will be a blizzard of bubbles that will reach most of the seats. Great experience for kids and okay experience for adults. We got discounted front row seats with a Playbill coupon code by searching through different show dates for seats. Would recommend to others with young children who have never seen the show before.
I want to go back but is it weird?Im a 30 something year old single black man with no kids (I know, a unicorn)So is this somewhere I can just go to alone?See I went with my Sister & her children.I went because I wanted to spend time with them while theyre in town even tho I wasnt excited about the venue by the end of the showI wanted to go back.I NEEDED TO GO BACK.Unfortunately, because of my perception of how situational gravity can be socially, it just doesnt feel right.See, like said i dont have children.I got friends that have kids but eh... Im not borrowing nobody unpredictable a$$ children and who wants to be that guy at the bubble show having way to much fun ...ALONE.Im mean I plan to go back. Probably for my birthday. Come on. They put me in a bubble.
If you have kids and you need a show in the city then this is your stop. Any kids under 10 years old will have such a blast and be mesmerized the whole time. You will not have to worry about chair kicking, voice volume, paying attention at all, you can actually sit back and relax.
Save your $. In a nutshell my 2.5 year old daughter asked throughout the show for more bubbles and where they were. There were 3 points where they sprayed them into the audience for a couple seconds but that was it.If you are a bubble enthusiast you would enjoy the history shown in various videos and performance. If you are a toddler looking to see a fun bubble show this is not for you- save your $.
Even at the discounted price, I thought it was a little expensive for what you see. I thought we had the worst seats in the house in the beginning but by the end I knew they were the best seats in the house. The reason it is called a gazillion bubbles is because the shoot a gazillion soap bubbles into the audience and everyone comes out needing a shower. She did do amazing things with the bubbles, however, and my 8 year old granddaughter enjoyed the show. We were in the front right at the extreme right of the stage and the torrent of bubbles did not come that far to the right, thank goodness. My granddaughter did manage to get soap bubbles in her eye.
Went to the Apr 16, 2016 2PM NYC show with my 14 year old son.A bit disappointed by the fact that about 20 of the 65 minute show was taken up with hokey cute little kids from the audience up on stage, with a scripted inside the bubble routine....Also surprised there is just one single bubble artist that does the whole show. Overall, some very skilled creations of composite and smoke filled bubbles, would have given only 2 stars if not for the 5 minute laser show that was quite outstanding. My Advice to adults sitting in the first 5 rows: bring goggles (seriously) to protect your eyes from stinging soap bubble air jetted at the audience for 5 straight minutes at one point! The seating at the 50th street NYC show had great seat elevation, so even if a 7 foot person sat in front of your child they could still see the stage. The sorry, mind if I can get through legroom was horrendous however. My advice, DO NOT buy the $100 premium seats in the front row (which I almost did) - the $40 to $75 adjacent seats are pretty much the same. Although this theater was quite small, the sound and lighting systems were fantastic, especially the lasers.Bottom line, GREAT for kids under 10, especially ones with a shorter attention span that cannot sit thru a very long show. Given that difficulty in balancing a show that has to cater to as many toddlers as it does adults, Gazzilion Bubbles did a commendable job.
This show is not what it used to be 6 years ago. I remember it used to feel like a magic show with the performers making enormous bubble formations, it was a play of light and human talent and imagination. This time formations were only a few, out of 1 hour 20 minutes was spent on interacting with the audience and videos displayed on small tv screens located on the sides. But the ultimate disappointment was when the audience was literally soaked with bubbles blown at a strong wind about 3 times in complete darkness. My son hid behind me and said he didnt like it and wanted to leave. I honestly did two after the second blow. This was simply not cool I am not sure for the rest but my kid was not awed by this at all.
I must say that the show is nice it is definitely suited for little kids but one concern that I have is the chemical that is used in these bubbles when the pop there is a little dust that comes out of each of these bubbles another issue that I see is that bubbles do not get blown out throughout the audience but more or less in the first five rows of the center. Rest is fine and dandy but those are the two concerns that I have.
Prepare yourself for an awesome show, and at the end of the show prepare to go somewhere to buy a bottle of bubbles!Great show for all ages, especially kids. If youre going to bring kids, best to get front seats because theyre going to anxious touching the bubbles when they first come out. The theatre is pretty small so any seat in the house is good for viewing.Melody Yang was the bubbles expert and the one woman show. She blew bubbles like there was no tomorrow. Middle way in the show there was a lazer show that was kinda cheesy but it was still awesome to see.Bubbles bubbles everywhere!I sucked for the bubble picture before the show started. I didnt care about the picture, but I just wanted to be in the bubble that surrounded my body.At the end of the show, Melody Yang stayed behind to take pictures with audience. When I left the show, I ran into Duane Reade to buy a bottle of bubbles so I can travel back in time to when I was a kid with no worries, blowing bubbles like no tomorrow.
The Bubble Show is fun for families with young children. The theater is small so everyone has a good seat. The people in the first 2 rows do have an advantage but the bubbles do travel into audience during the show. The show is performed by one person and there is some audience participation. The show runs for an hour with no break. Souvenirs are available and reasonably priced. You can pay by cash or credit card. You can also pay $20 to get a picture in a bubble before and after the show. My family has seen the show twice with 2 different performers. Both were good.If you take the LIRR...take train to penn station then take the C or E train to 50th street. The theatre was 5 minutes away. You can find discount tickets on Groupon, Prime Benefits or Working Advantage.Enjoy the show :)
We just went to todays 4:30 show. The whole experience is very disappointing. First, the staff have no consideration or sympathy: my 4-year old needed to go to bathroom and our friends with the tickets were coming from the parking lot. The staff there wouldnt allow us to use the bathroom because “it’s company policy” and made me re-dress my son with jacket and all and rushed out to look for a bathroom. Seriously?! Its the cold New York winter, for Gods sake. If a toddler couldnt hold it, then he should watch the show in wet pants or just miss it all together? I wished the people working there had given some consideration to the situation and made an exception for juvenile or those with special needs. Whats gonna happen if they did? Well hide in the bathroom and never come out?! How ridiculous! Second, the show is a joke, especially after staffs unreasonable behavior. Ill pay $10 to see it and search in the net for the video part. $50 is a total ripe-off.
I was totally disgusted and disappointed in the blatant disregard by Ana Yang for the lack of inclusion to the children of color in the audience. I brought my daughter with my 3 Granddaughters who traveled from Connecticut to come to this show and they were so excited by the idea of being selected to go on stage as they all are crazy about bubbles. Not only did I think this show was overpriced for what we received, but Ms. Yang only selected the caucasian kids to come up on stage and theyre was a very diverse group of children there who were left to feel not only rejected, but dejected and it broke my heart to see my girls like this knowing that unfortunately this behavior still exists by people who dont care, understand or see the harm their doing to innocent children who dont deserve this.
Poor excuse for a performance.Although she’s stated she’s been blowing bubbles since she was four, the production of this show could have been condensed to five minutes.Had I known, I wouldn’t have paid more than $5 for a “performance” like this.My two year old was barely stimulated. She seems to have rushed several “tricks” doing multiple do-overs.Poor production value
Is not all that like they make it seeing you hear so much about and is being so long running that u think is amazing but is not all that is just okay for some kids and not to for others is a opinions for kids but I have seeing better for kids its to pricey to and when you go there to the theater directly to buy tickets some people at the box Office are not to nice neither they rude and not to friendly not everyone is a tourist....
Hmmm only took one review to say children of color were not selected for audience participation by MS YANG really people you selected to take our green money and no not just talking about black children either Ive heard this before now read it No thanks keep your show and by the way respond to this as you do praise Wish 0 stars could be given for such behavior

2022-06-27A bubble show that even adults will make a exiting. The children, of course, liked it, and jumped. It is a skilled show with various Guinness titles, and I watched it without any discomfort due to the cool inside and friendly staff. For the $20 photo shoot, youd better go early. There will be a long line waiting after the show. I was proud to show the children such a wonderful experience.

2022-01-26I had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed it so much that we went three times. And the third time my son was called onto stage it was very funny and sweet. I recommend this to everyone. Big kids enjoy it too. Very memorable. Thank you!

2022-05-29This is my 2nd time attending the show. Melody was fantastic. She engaged with the audience so well. She made sure to reach those in the front, as well as the sides and back which was very thoughtful. The front and center seats can be expensive so making sure everyone got to interact with the bubbles during the show was nice to see. We sat 5th row center, the bubbles reached us when they were using the fans at high power, those blown by her on stage were popped by those in closer rows but still cool to see. We will be back to see the show again.

2022-07-24Fun one woman bubble show. Great for kids and still entertaining for big kids and grown ups.Just over an hour long, no intermission, room is kept cold.If taking kids, let them know that some audience member may go on stage

2022-06-23Ah I wish we could take pictures to add to this review but honestly you have to see it in person. An amazing show with a talented performer. Kid friendly and interactive. Funny, mind blowing, everything. They are at Dollywood on tour so go check them out if you can! Free with park tickets. They have bubble machines and wands after too! We got one of each and the kids love them!

2022-04-25I am very sad to say, this show was not what I expected. I was very disappointed and a few children in my section left crying. The website should posted a disclaimer, stating if you want the full effect to purchase tickets in the center.I didnt buy tickets in the center because it was sold out but I brought tickets to sit near the front of the stage. BUT if the website had the disclaimer I wouldve purchased for a different day.I have several videos to show no bubbles come to the seats on the side. We were just sitting there watching the guests in the center have fun. The picture of my daughter inside the bubble at the end of the show was the ONLY excitement she had.Never again.

2022-06-28This show was awesome. My 4 year old had such a great time! Even as an adult I had fun and did not know bubbles could be so entertaining. I loved how the woman made sure all the children felt included. My son was given free bubbles (huge container) just for being on stage. I plan to take him again before the show leaves NY. Well worth the 2 hour drive from CT. I don’t understand the negative reviews but deff recommended sitting in the center I had 4th row seats in the center and it was great!

2022-07-18The gazillion bubbles was not an exaggeration! Excellently scripted show. About a third of the way through I wondered how they could top that act - but they did! Melody is superb with children. I would have thought a square bubble was impossible but now Ive seen several! Mind boggling imaginative show of wonder for all ages. Good clean fun!Note: you will get bubbles on you no matter where you sit in the intimate auditorium, but the first three rows will be very wet.

2022-05-22My son had the time of his life. The smile on my sons face meant everything to me. Who would think millions of bubbles would make my child the happiest camper ever. The show was so great that he wanted to go back again, however, we are planning to go back again some time this year. Thank you gazillion bubbles.
