Server was really nice, everything came out pretty quickly, prices were very reasonable and our food was very good. It was super nice out and we were the first ones there and got a perfect table in the sun. The only damper in our experience came from the people behind us- I felt really bad for their waitress. Among other things they were upset because their seat wasnt sunny enough and spent the whole time loudly complaining about it and after we paid demanded that they be moved to our table (while we were still sitting there). It made me uncomfortable, Ive never experienced someone acting like that over a table before, very odd. Hopefully they calmed down and were nicer after moving the two feet over to our table 😂
We had a delicious meal at the cafe. The street sign said brunch, but no items like that on the menu. We did find some delicious choices. I had a salad with top rate fresh greens, Apple, walnuts and small cubes of cheddar. I added sliced grilled chicken breast. It was topped with apple/Reisling dressing. The menu described the salad makings as locally sourced. I had the suggested beer, a Vienna lager brewed next door at Wagners. My husband had the special of the day beef stew topped with puff pastry. He enjoyed it.We dined outdoors on a deck with view of vineyard and Lake Seneca.
Lunch @ Wagner is ALWAYS a Must-do when we come to wine country. Their entrees are thoughtfully & interestingly fashioned for a taste explosion every time, the wines are very good, the view of the lake is awesome & the wait staff is pleasant and helpful. Love the dining experience every time PLUS we love the wine tasting area & the wine-related gift shop. Spend a few hours!!
The Ginny Lee at Wagner Vineyards hosted our Daughter’s wedding in September 2021. From our end everything went perfect, the venue was the perfect place, the vineyards were beautiful, the food was terrific and the staff was courteous and very helpful. All that attended gave us glowing reviews. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Front end is good but Kitchen health practices questionable. I got sick on a Tuesday from a snack of cold cuts, nuts and baguette slices. Came back on Friday and saw a cook drop salami slices on deck, then pickup with bare hand and place them in bag going to kitchen. Probably this behavior made me sick on Tuesday.Only eat hot cooked food here!
I have no clue why folks rated this place so well. The food was mediocre as expensive, the service and view was fine.I asked for a side salad in the place of chips and then the bill came and they charged me 8 dollars for a tiny side salad with my 15 dollar sandwich. It’s a cafe....and lunch was the same price as a nice dinner in the area. If the food had not been woefully mediocre the beer average at best. I don’t think it would have bothered me. Save your money and go to a diner or one of the brewpubs in the area. Don’t pay for the name.I come to the area a fair amount and I won’t be back again.
Had a late lunch and even though most of the staff was getting ready for a wedding reception after lunch hours, we were not rushed and our servers were very helpful. The food was delicious. The best French Onion soup and brisket I have had. Prices are very reasonable.
Kinda busy little place there!!! Parking lot was full and overflow area in use. Gotta be good if that is going on for a Sunday afternoon wine touring!! Fall foliage getting into it and many out enjoying some seasonal weather for the day! Always a good time to stop for a bite with some friends and then check out the wine and brewery tastings!!! Lookibg forward to another weekend of fun with friends!!!
If you want the wedding reception of your dreams go to The Ginny Lee. The venue is fantastic from the view (inside and out) to the food to the price. They set the decorations up for you and take them down making that part of everything that much easier. You have enough stuff going on, not having to worry about it getting set up the way you wish is a huge weight off your shoulders. Doing a taste test had to be one of the hardest things we did in all of our wedding planning as all of the food was amazing. The place is super cozy and everything looked amazing. The staff were all phenomenal and put up with a lot of obnoxious behavior from the grooms’ drunk fraternity brothers. And the best part: Ginny herself. She was tremendous to work with. As with most people that probably go to book the venue it was our first time so we didn’t know anything. She has a packet full of vendor information and schedules and food options that is a huge help in the planning process and she took a ton of time answering our questions. Then came the big night. Ginny was there beginning to end to make sure everything went smooth and it did. The bride even said after how amazing it was that she was not stressed out at all. This is definitely a 5-Star reception area and should be at the top of your list of places to check out for your reception. If I could rate it 6 stars on here I would. Our wedding was 5/30/2015
The first time in my life I have ever sent my entire dish back and left a restaurant. My table ordered a chicken sandwich. Clearly the chicken was sitting around in balsamic vinegar which turned the chicken to nearly a powder form. On top of the chicken was a slice of cheese commonly referred to as a struggle slice. Place has a great view and nice employees, minus that avoid avoid avoid.
Cant say enough good things about the food, staff and atmosphere. You go to the finger lakes to grt away and relax, and we wanted somewhere that was dog friendly. The staff brought a water bowl.out for our 2 dogs, there was another dog there as well, and every staff members and I think ginny all came out to greet them. I had emailed before to make sure they were dog friendly and Ginny emailed back fast and courteous and said theyd love to have us. Great food, great wine and beer too!
This place is usually a MUST-STOP place for us when in Ithaca, but this year, it missed the mark. We were one of only several tables with people and the service with painfully slow. The presentation of the food was lacking the usual charm and the staff seemed rushed to get us out. I was really disappointed, especially since I have made it a point to come here every year.
Sometimes places that you have been in your youth are just not the same when you come back.I was so disappointed to see how far down the cafe had fallen.30 years ago this was an awesome fine dining restaurant. Now its just a roadside cafe serving frozen fries and hamburgers. With dirt on the floor and inattentive servers, I may be back in another 30 years.
Cheese and meat plate totally unacceptable for $20. Meat was generic at best and cheese was unappetizing and crackers were commercial saltines and Ritz type. Cheese was served chunked. Much better experience down the road at Danos s whether for snacking, dining or dessert.

2021-07-28What a great location to have a meal! The view from the deck was awesome! The server was really sweet and nice! The food could have been better for the price. The burger was well done when it was suppose to be medium rare. The soup was a little clumpy and salty. You can come here for a light lunch. The wine was good though! I got a few bottles. Come here more for the wine than lunch.

2021-10-25We had higher expectations. It was ok.Beautiful scenery to look at while youre eating. There was a private party though letting their kids run all around. The salad and French Onion soup was good. My husbands chicken sandwich tasted like it was fried in old oil.

2021-04-30Cute cafe for lunch! Not a large menu but delicious food to still select from. Indoor and outdoor seating available while you eat gazing at beautiful Seneca Lake. Complimentary water for every table. Prices are decent as well. Very nice place and will definitely be visiting again.

2021-05-15Just as bad as I feared. Amateur through and through, and severely overpriced. You pay for the view, not the food. The server was sweet, but kinda sparse, and its a menu built for simpler palettes, so dont get your hopes up after driving all the way out there.

2022-05-13Went for Easter Bruch. Great food as always. Always. Friendly staff. Any other time I would leave 5 Stars. But their buffet was more limited this year. I get its because of Covid. But still. So 4 and a half stars.

2022-05-02Excellent lunch meal, especially great for my husband who has Celiac disease. He enjoyed a balsamic grilled chicken sandwich on a GF roll, toasted to perfection. Our waitress, Akiya was attentive and friendly. She made certain to get our order communicated to the kitchen staff. We enjoyed delicious root beer too. (Wagner Valley Brewing Company) - a specialty.

2022-05-27We had 17 family members meet for lunch and the food and staff were all great. They have a large indoor dining room and also have outdoor seating and they do take reservations.
