The Grandview in other cities:
Attended a Wedding Show there to check the place out for a family members upcoming wedding. It was so very well done, vendors of every kind were in attendance. Great desserts and delicious offerings of a variety of dinner choices available for your event, which were excellent. The venue is so beautiful, theres a long terrace with multiple seating areas overlooking the mountains, the Hudson River and the Mid-Hudson Bridge. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and professional, and made us feel very comfortable, welcomed and appreciated.
The Grandview is a beautiful venue right on the Hudson River! I love how spacious it is and how delicious their food is! Some tips from a photographer: I would make sure you have a first look and do as many group photos as you can before the ceremony, so you can enjoy cocktail hour and all its amazingness. If youre doing your ceremony there, try to get an evening time as the lighting will be better!
Great place to go for a wedding. This was the second wedding I attended there. The staff is great with a huge attention to detail. The cocktail hour was great the food was outstanding. The bartenders were good remembering what everyone drank ever time they went up. Joey who was doing the dj work was great and very interactive with the guests. He had a nice dry ice fogg machine that covered the dance floor in fogg. The dessert hour was out of this world with a dessert coffee bar that you could get the coffee and alcohol of your choice made for you. Kind of nice to see what the site has become after working there with a tree company clearing along the river when they first took over the property
I can’t even tell you how many people told my husband and I that we had the best wedding ever!! I also felt the same way. There was nothing about that day that wasn’t absolutely perfect. To start we had 8 passed hors d’oeuvers and 4 stations plus meats, cheeses, etc at just cocktail hour. Then you have appetizer, dinner and cake on top of that. I didn’t have to worry about one thing the entire event. The staff was on top of everything, my maitre d’ had our back at every turn. The views are unbeatable. I seriously am obsessed with this event space and our wedding. During COVID, they moved our wedding, no fee, no problems. Kept our original price for us. We’re so sweet about every obstacle or question I had. On top of all of that they are reasonable with pricing to begin with. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue and it’s people. We love you Grandview!!!
We got married this past October and so glad that we did it at Grandview with Brent, Taylor, and Margaret helping us along the way.We got engaged a month before the pandemic began and we had a rough time figured out the plans to get to the date and had a lot of conversations and emails due to the ongoing pandemic, but the staff were patient and helped us along to get us there. Im sure we exhausted them, but they were always so kind and on top of it.The day could not have run so smoothly! We were assigned attendants and they were rockstars! They were attentive and made sure we had everything that we needed. Special thanks to Deb and Nicole.Post wedding many of our guests commented on how personal, polite and efficient the servers were and how impressed they were by the professionalism and attention to detail.Everyone is healthy post wedding and we attribute that to the staffs preparedness. We would highly recommend the Grandview for your special events to be a wonderful and safe celebration.
If I could give the Grandview an infinite number of stars, I would do it.Choosing this venue was without a doubt the best decision I made during the wedding planning process. During the uncertain, stressful and ever-changing status of the coronavirus, we were always treated with kindness, respect and flexibility. We had to postpone our wedding to a later date and make a lot of adjustments throughout the months leading up to our wedding due to the virus, and each step of the way, Margaret Brower and her staff accommodated our every request, patiently and helpfully answered all of our (many) questions and ultimately made our wedding day about us. We were not pressured to make any decisions about our wedding that were not in our best interest or within our plan, and I know that is not the case with all wedding venues during this difficult time. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere and view is breathtaking (they dont call it the Grandview for nothing!) and the attention to detail was unmatched--every small favor or request that my family and I asked for was fulfilled and was handled exactly right. The staff worked tirelessly to host an event that was fun, safe and in accordance with all state and federal guidelines relating to the virus. Despite the climate and the status of things, at no point of the day did I feel like I was sacrificing anything by holding my wedding during a worldwide pandemic, and I have the Grandview to thank for that.I highly, highly recommend this venue. Their prices are reasonable, their service is impeccable, and the people who work there (especially Margaret) are an absolute delight!Thank you, Grandview team, for all you did for me and my husband! Thanks to you, our wedding day was perfect and is truly a story to remember.
This place is phenomenal! My niece just had her wedding there this evening. The food was fantastic and the waiters where so friendly and helpful. This place is so beautiful by the Hudson River and the bridge was lit up in the evening. We all had a wonderful time, and would definitely be back again. 😀
The Grandview was absolutely phenomenal! Being a part of one of my best friends the wedding party was already an incredible experience, but the venue was just fantastic. The food was on point. The employees and took care of us for the evening. The drinks. And porch off the back. The dance floor. I was blown away by everything. Keep up the fantastic work guys. Just wow.
Attended my gorgeous nieces outdoor wedding there last night. The place is beautiful. The staff was awesome and very professional. They all went above and beyond to ensure everything went well. The food was great. We had beautiful weather. Couldnt ask for anything more. Thank you Grandview for making her and her new husbands day so special.
The Grandview provided impeccable service - they were extremely attentive and professional and threw us the best wedding we ever could have dreamed of! We were in the outdoor ballroom with the tent and had perfect weather to observe the unmatchable view of the Hudson River and the mountains. I would recommend this venue to anyone on the hunt. Our guests said it was one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to and some were considering what other events they could have there so they would get to go back!
Great venue! Beautiful view, great food, super-professional and friendly staff. One caveat: If youre planning to hire a band, you might want to opt for the indoor wedding. The outdoor tent is great but the neighbors will call the cops if it gets loud, even before 9PM.
Beautiful venue! Attended an outdoor wedding there overlooking the Hudson! Spectacular views! Reception held an outdoor permanent tent facility . side flaps or put down as weather got cooler. The food was wonderful complemented by great service! Coming from more metropolitan areas we were pleasantly surprised!
My wife and I got married at the Grandview in late August and it was an overall great experience. We were attended to with every request and need we had and all of our guests thought the wedding was perfect. There were no bad surprises and the Grandview holds so many weddings every year that you can almost 100% guarantee they have dealt with any issues that could arise. Luckily we didnt have any issues that needed to be fixed. We lucked out with the weather so it was a beautiful venue in the outdoor ballroom. All of our friends and family had plenty of pictures uploaded the following day I still till this day see people posting pictures of the venue.Overall amazing experience and I wouldnt pick anywhere else to have my wedding.
Went to 2019 New Years Eve event have to say was very disappointed. The dinner was not up to par and the service was disorganized. We never receives our party hats before the New Year they gave us champagne glasses and no champagne. The music was not great felt they played so much old music. We ended up leaving right after the New Year rang in. People at the hotel said others had left early and complained also. Me and my friends went to the 2018 event and had a blast food and music was excellent 2019 was a bust.
I was invited to a wedding at another venue (owned by the same people) that sold the property. The owners did not offer one of their other properties to the couple, instead offered a tent outside one of their restaurants for the same price. Inconsiderate of them to not honor contracts they signed.
This review is long overdue. My husband and I got married at The Grandview on November 8, 2018. Let me start by saying the biggest compliment I can pay them is everyone who attended the wedding cant stop talking about the service, the food, and the ambiance. I will forever be in debt to Melissa for assisting us through this entire process. She was a such a pleasure to work with. Angel, our maitre d and our ceremony florist, had everything flowing smoothly, and made sure everything looked beautiful. He is a such a beautiful person. Sonia our head server was fantastic! At one point, I was about to lose my composure because my nerves were getting the best of me. She pulled me to the side and she reminded me to stay present in the moment and to take the moment in. She was truly a calming presence and words cant describe how fortunate we were to have her.The main take away from this experience is I wouldnt change a thing! It was the best day of our lives and we owe a great debt of gratitude to everyone at the Grandview!
Event space with perfect viewsStation buffet with wide variety. Hot and cold, salads, breads, cold cuts etc. The dessert stations were over the top. Staff was most attentive from lobby to bar staff. Would recommend highly. Not sure of cost but you get what you pay for. Excellent experience.
DO NOT WORK HERE! My first day of work was pretty good and minimal training which is understandable as it is the busy season. The second day of work I was on my own and the following week I was thrown into the job. Though it wasn’t hard to get the hang of things it was very unorganized. I worked their for a complete month and a two weeks and only received three checks that were nowhere close to how many hours I have worked. I was never informed of a clock in number until a fellow Co worker told me I had one. I have several checks that I have not received. I also got sick and called out for TWO DAYS and was terminated without knowing until I called, I didn’t even have a chance to bring in a doctors note as they well know that I am pregnant. I have continued to call and inquire about my checks that I have not received and haven’t heard back from anyone. All in all this place is not as welcoming as they seem. Very unorganized and unprofessional. This is not a place I would ever refer anyone to work. The food is old and recycled and definitely not worth your time.. Dont waist your time working here no one stays long. The wedding venue is a very beautiful spot and I’ve enjoyed watching people tie the knot, DO NOT WORK HERE!
We got married there on 8/17/18. We did the tent outside. It was 90° and on and off pouring rain, so my only complaint was not even the AC units could combat the humidity. However we still had a blast. Everyone was amazing and attentive. All the guest were amazed by the decor and food!!!!
We had our wedding at the Grandview last month and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the entire ~14-month timeframe from booking a date to the wedding day, the staff was always prompt in answering any of our questions, managing our payments schedule, and coordinating the day of for a smooth event. Our guests raved about the food – both quality and quantity! It’s a total package deal, which I was initially hesitant about BUT once we went to one of the tasting events, I was sold. The price per head includes the venue, furniture, linens, dinnerware/glassware, top-shelf bar, a very generous cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres spread, and a 4-entrée option dinner (chicken, beef, seafood, vegetarian). It was accommodating for everyone and delicious! The Grandview’s packaging setup helped us seamlessly coordinate everything we wanted in our wedding without having to deal with multiple outside vendors (I was anxious about having different people for linens, plates/cups/utensils, beverages, food, dessert – a lot of room for day-of error and planning headaches).I recommend the Grandview to host any sort of special event!
From the moment I walked into the Grandview, I knew it was going to be a perfect wedding venue. What I didn’t know, was how truly wonderful the service and staff would be throughout the entire planning process. My fiancé and I worked with Margaret and she was absolutely wonderful. She patiently listened to all of our questions, gave us great advice and really helped us through the planning process so that we were fully able to enjoy our day. The staff at the Grandview was amazing; assisting my family during photos, setting up all of our wedding items and checking in with all of our vendors. During the reception, the staff gave exceptional service, even cocktailing drinks to a few of my older guests. The facility was clean, beautiful and very well maintained. If you’re considering a wedding venue in Poughkeepsie, look no further than the Grandview!
I could write a thesis but quite simply our experience was more than pleasantly. Margaret our Coordinator became like a friend, Hayden, Kaitlyn and all the staff were nothing short of amazing. The food, service and beatiful backdrop of the Hudson provided an atmosphere that rivaled none..Dozens of people told us it was the best wedding they ever attended. For weeks prior the area experienced the worst humidity but Margaret kept telling me our day would be perfect. It was......oh it was!!!!!Beverly and Dave KellerAugust 19, 2016August 19
The Grandview truly lives up to its name and overlooks the beautiful Hudson River. This was only one of the many elements that this remarkable establishment had to offer that immediately caught our attention when looking for wedding venues. My husband and I instantly fell in love with the location, beauty and elegance of the indoor ballroom, and hospitality of the entire staff. The Grandview’s director, Margaret, gave us extraordinary care and a truly unique experience throughout the planning process. She went above and beyond and catered to our every need. She is extremely attentive, engaging, genuine, and professional. Her level of commitment towards making our wedding day perfect really puts her in a league of her own.The day of our wedding, 7/21/2018, they continued to exceed our ever-growing expectations. Sonya was our Maitre D and she is a cut above the rest. She oversaw all the fine details and had exceptional communication between the staff and vendors. She orchestrated and executed everything so flawlessly and prioritized us at every moment. I also want to heavily praise Angel, our head server, who is a Jack-of-all-trades. Not only does he craft the exquisite floral arrangements at the Grandview, he provided us a kind of service like no other. He’s genuine, humble, professional, very skilled and proficient of his work, and a true artist. You can really sense a pride and joy in him that is so unique. Furthermore, their cake artist is absolutely brilliant and a master of her craft. We had a very unique and technical cake design and she executed it perfectly. When she presented it to us, it actually took our breath away!On top of it all, the food is to die for! From the hors d’oeuvres and incredibly entertaining action stations to the mouth-watering entrees and sundae buffet, there were surprises and delighted pallets at every turn! Everybody expressed it was the most exquisite food they had ever tasted! It really is surreal and overwhelmingly satisfying to have your plans and hard work come to fruition. We are so grateful for the Grandview and their entire staff for making our once-in-a-lifetime experience possible and elevate it to perfectly capture and express my husband’s and my love for each other. Overall, their standard of excellence far exceeds all others and their remarkable service is unparalleled. All our guests could not stop raving about the venue and what an incredible experience they had. We cannot thank them enough!
Venue is beautiful and staff is great. However, as a DJ, there in house sound system that they make you use is absolute garbage and there power supply too. Barely enough sound for 70 person wedding. The breakers started tripping non stop the last hour of the wedding. Totally killing the vibe. Luckily bride and groom were nice and understanding, but how can you offer this to couples booking with you when entertainment is super important. Having a DJ use his own system would be so much better and you can just make sure they dont have it blasting. Your sound lacks so many frequencies, and has now Low end. You power has such awful ground i couldnt believe there was ground coming thru every speaker just by plugging in your 2 XLR cables. All the power was off and there was ground out of all your speakers. I have a wedding to DJ at West Hill Country Club which I understand is run by the same owner and same tent set up. I am not looking forward to this and will be bringing my own speakers as backup because having music shut off during a dance set is completely unacceptable.
The aesthetics are average, but for Poughkeepsie they are regarded as being among the best. The food was bland. My personal opinion is that the food from the Bonura Hospitality Group is always bland and tasteless, though it has a good presentation. The staff was professional, personal, and friendly. The staff frequently visited our table to ensure a high quality of customer service.
Steak was grey and probably the worst steak I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t even eat it and Iam not even picky. I would have preferred steak-umm’s. We were here for the New Year’s Eve party. 12 people at the table and 8 out of 10 said their meal was terrible. Appetizers were ok. It’s funny because I just read a review on the place that said the same thing. Odd.
Not a review for the hotel itself but the New Years gala was honestly a disappointment. The best part was the cocktail hour and it was all downhill from there. We had a table of over cooked, dried out filet minon and could’ve gotten better at T.G.I. Friday’s. The DJ.... horrible. Played every single song until the very end with no technical skill between transitions and to the point where you got tired of dancing to the same song. Their “open bar” must’ve contained 50% water is the liquor bottles they were pouring from. Had 12 drinks and didn’t even have a buzz... went to New Paltz after and had 4 drinks and was drunk. Spend your money elsewhere for New Years.
What a breath-taking venue! No wonder its called The Grandview. I had the pleasure of being the DJ at Yuleiva & Kevins wedding this past weekend. What an incredibly beautiful view for a Wedding Ceremony and Reception. The staff was incredibly polite and accommodating, and Victor, the Maître D, was one of the most professional people Ive worked with in all of the 150 locations Ive been to in the past 5 years. Check out the recap video on my YouTube channel. Thank you for having me. – DJ AFINO

2022-06-21Attended a wedding. It was a great event. Staff were very good. Food was tremendous in both quality and amounts. View was awesome. As an aside, our wedding was in an outdoor area under a semi permanent tent. Not to sure how the indoor room was for a venue.

2021-07-27Absolutely beautiful venue and great service. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect. It has a fantastic view of the Hudson River and the bridge. There is seating everywhere and the bar has a wide variety of options. The staff was very accommodating to food allergies and made sure I was comfortable and happy with my food. I am taking one star off because they did mess up my entree twice and I ended up not being able to eat it. The appetizer was a wonderful fruit salad and for dessert they had a great sorbet. The venue is large and they were great with COVID precautions.

2021-08-22So my husband and I got married here at the end of April and I wish I can give them more stars. Krystal was on top of everything. The whole staff was amazing. They really made sure everyone was taken care of. All of our guests said the staff was friendly and attentive. Despite dealing with covid, they all knew what to do. If you’re looking for a wedding venue, this place is the best.

2022-02-08My husband and I got married in December at The Grandview and we cannot recommend it enough. We knew we were in good hands with The Grandview from the moment we booked, We had to postponing our wedding due to COVID and for a stressful situation they made it so easy and seamless. From the views to the staff to the convenience of it all, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue to get married at. Lauren, Mackenzie, Crystal and the entire staff are truly the best. They take care of every little thing the day of. The food is fantastic and there’s full waiter service to the tables making your guests truly be able to relax and enjoy the evening. Our guests were raving about the entire night. If you’re looking for a perfect venue, definitely make sure to check out The Grandview.
