The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Nesconset, it was a home away from home for my father for almost two weeks. I felt very comfortable saying goodbye when visiting hours were over, the facility was constantly being cleaned, the nurses aide Edwin was diligent and compassionate and my father loved the food. Daily updates on my father’s progress was easy to access. My father was released just before thanksgiving, right in line with the assessment given to us when he was transferred there. I believe anyone who is making a decision where to go for rehabilitation and general healthcare will be pleased with the Hamlet of Nesconset.
I currently have a relative in this facility and I am so unhappy with so many things. Not one staff member seems to be able to answer direct questions in any detail, my relative has been complaining of UTI symptoms for over a week and just today they finally took a urine sample for testing, he still has not been treated for this. His blood pressure is supposed to be taken every 4 hours due to it dropping very low regularly, he says hes lucky if they take it twice a day. I do not feel like he is being provided the best possible care and he seems to be getting worse, not better. He contracted covid inside and I would like to know how that even happens if the staff is following protocol as my relative has been unable to leave his room to use any common areas at any time between his arrival and the day he tested positive. The only way would have been for a staff member to bring it into the room and that would only happen if protocol was not being followed. Although I dont have much experience with these types of facilities, I strongly feel like this one is in need of some serious improvements. Also, Id like to add that I have seen bugs on the second floor and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.UPDATE: I just spoke with Tiffany the Concierge for The Hamlet, she was very kind, understanding and helpful. She is going to address all of my concerns so if everything goes well, I will adjust my review accordingly, I just want to see some change before doing so.
I don’t usually write reviews but I simply had to put pen to paper to describe my experience at The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset. The facility is second to none. I can not say one negative thing about my experience nor my fathers’ experience. This would be impossible without the stellar staff. Thomas Stewart is a gem and helped to facilitate a seamless transfer from one of the worst facilities on Long Island. My father is quite happy with the beautiful, clean place and the well organized daily events available for the residents. Raymond McDonald Director of Admissions, truly put everything in plain English and made the transition easy. We are so happy with our choice of placing our father in the care of The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset.Thank you so much,Mrs.P. Garland
The Hamlet Rehabilitation Center staff became family to us. They cared for my 90 year old mother who sustained serious injuries and rehabilitated her so she could return home! It was a miracle! Their staff was so kind, professional and caring. Without their care I have no doubt that my mother would not be back in her home, happy and healing.Administration answered all of our questions and concerns so we were always informed. The care team worked together for the best rehabilitation protocol balancing her injuries, pain management, emotional needs and nutrition.Especially during these difficult and challenging times with COVID-19 I felt they always had their patients, staff and families well being and safety as a #1 priority. All I can say is our The Hamlet family was a blessing during an often uncertain and difficult time. Our own personal angels!😇
Applying for Medicaid for my mother, thru Denise Chavez at the Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset, was a difficult process that was made easy by Denise, as she was able to secure much of the information needed, making my job very simple. Denise then expedited the process thru Medicaid, and we were approved in just a couple of weeks. My family greatly appreciates all of Denise’s efforts to ensure that the financial side of my mother’s stay at the Hamlet was taken care of, allowing us to focus on her healthcare issues.
I came here for physical therapy after I broke my leg. This rehab was absolutely perfect for what I needed. I couldn’t be happier with the nurses, the aids, the doctor and the staff; they were all very accommodating and kind hearted. Physical therapy was also exactly what I needed. Thank you to everyone who took care of me I would recommend this place to anyone who needs it!
My dad has been at the Hamlet for about 3 months now. I live overseas but was able to keep in touch with his social worker, PT & OT regarding his progress via Zoom which has given me peace of mind. During my recent visit to the Hamlet to see my dad, the staff were very courteous and helpful in answering all of my questions.I am especially grateful to the staff for their support in applying for medicaid. They have provided my family with a great deal of information and answered all of our questions in a timely manner throughout the application process, which we are very appreciative of.Thomas Pellegrino
My 98 year old dad has been at the Hamlet almost 2 weeks now. All the staff Ive encountered thus far have been friendly and professional. The facility could not allow visitations due to Covid when he arrived. Staff members called me regularly to give me updates on my dad which gave a sense of relief. They walked me through the process to have Facetime and Compassionate Care visits. Its also a pleasure to call and hear the receptionist answer the phone saying, Its a beautiful day at the Hamlet! During this short period of time, I would give the Hamlet an A in personal attention!11/26/21Making life decisions on behalf of your elderly parent can be a daunting process. However many of the Hamlet staff membershave over extended themselves displaying care and concern in my dads best interest.I cant name all but would like to say a special thanks to Valerie, Lauren, Denise, Patrice, Chole, Felice, Kathy, Neffi, Indigo, Mary, Amanda and to all who have shown kindness, going above and beyond.
I cant thank my PT therapist Jackie enough for always believing in me, being my support and my cheerleader throughout this journey. My regular aids Indigo and Nikki have been nothing but compassionate and caring with me during my recovery. Cheryl & Mary have been keeping me in the spirt of laughter while alway keeping my room sparkling. To say the least thats just some of the kind, loving and caring people Ive come across while at my current stay. I will forever be greatful for them.
Starting to think there are a proliferation of fake reviews here. My mother has been there a very short time but her experience has not been good at all. Instead of responding, We wanted to take an opportunity to connect with you in reference to your recent review as conversations with the patient throughout... maybe you should actually take care of your patients?
The admissions was executed by the director, Ray McDonald, and Denise Chavez in the most professional, and efficient means possible. What subsequently followed was equally outstanding, ie., nursing care, and dietary, etc. After spending 19 days at Stony Brook, due to an occipital lobe stroke, with 9 of those days in neuro-critical care, and his immediate family naturally by his side continuously, we could not have asked for a better transition to occur. All of his needs were met, as well as ours, and for the first time we have been able to catch a deep breath. Thank you, The Mineo Family.
I love being here at the Hamlet, it is my home. I love the staff, from the doctors, to the nurses, and the aides and physical therapy, social work (Chloe). I have requested to be moved to a certain unit I preferred and Chloe made it happen!!! I also want to thank my nurse Christine, who won the employee of the month!! The aids are particularly wonderful, they always help me with my needs whatever they may be. All my aides know me so well, its like they are mind readers.
We are guardians for our cousin and on a recent visit we had a wonderful time. The process of checking for the virus was short and effortless. There is a new system that records individuals information so the next visit requires little in the way of extra effort. Our cousin, who is a permanent resident, looked wonderful after a short stay at Stony Brook Hospital. Her friends welcomed her back and the staff tries hard to please the residents and that is a difficult task and I applaud their efforts. The Hamlet has been undergoing extensive renovations and the dining room where we met, even though there was more work to be done, looked great.
I am happy to say that the staff who Hamlet hired are fabulous. They are kind, compassionate and attentive. As I am keenly aware of the storage of individuals who are willing to work due to Extended unemployment, i wish to recognize the staff who are present, in particular, Sofia and Marie are priceless. Always a smile and a caring smile and a willingness to listen. Thank you fir all you do and your staff.
Dad was there 2 months after his discharge from the hospital. The Hamlet has caring staff that treated him like family. They kept us informed of his care and progress. We were able to finally visit near the end of his stay, it was clear dad was well cared for and was gaining strength. We were very happy with his care.
My mother-in-law has been a long term resident at The Hamlet since July 2020. During this period of time she has receive the best of medical, emotional and social care from the entire team, including Social Work, Hospitality, her Aides and the Medical Staff. In addition, the administrative staff has also been key to making the family situation as easy as possible by assisting us through health insurance situations and answers to difficult and time sensitive questions as well as handling the application for Medicaid assistance, where it all went smoothy and seamlessly.I cannot recommend a facility, and especially its caring and thoughtful staff, more highly than The Hamlet. These individuals truly treat my mother-in-law as if she was family. They deserve kudos for the effectiveness of their work ethics and results.
The staff was absolutely fabulous in every way. Caring, compassionate, and deeply concerned about our feelings and our safety.I had not seen my mother for a year and a half. They made my visit so comfortable. I liked that they wheeled Mom down do she didnt have to walk far. She can walk.ok, but it just made it easier and safer.I sleep better at night knowing my mom is there.Thank you all!God blessDennis Daniel
My 96-year-old mother has been a resident at the Hamlet at Nesconset Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for the past three years This past Friday I was able to hug my mother for for the first time in over a year. The staff has always been so caring & friendly and my mother who is in the dementia unit is well cared for. I couldn’t have asked for a better staff of people to take care of my mother, especially during the pandemic .Mary Langenhahn always went above and beyond sending me photos and FaceTiming me and calling me weekly so that our family could keep in touch and see and hear how my mother was doing. Mary and the nursing staff helped alleviate the stress and anxiety of not being able to visit during the pandemic. I always felt a sense of peace knowing she was well taken care of, healthwise and emotionally. The assistant assistant director Dimitry Schwartz worked hard every Tuesday on open phone calls to the families to make sure we were kept in the loop. Lastly I would like to say that the Hamlet is family to my mother and angels to me thank you for all you do.Sincerely,Doreen Bronzino Hirsch
The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Facility was recommend by the assisted living facility where my 96 year old mother resides. She developed pneumonia and was in the hospital for ten days. The doctors recommended rehabilitation as she was so weak that she could not lift a utensil to her mouth. My mother was at The Hamlet for about 5 weeks and not only did she fully recover but she is stronger and happier than Ive seen her in over a year and a half. I am very grateful for all they did . this is health care at its best.
My mother is 89 years of age she fell and broke her hip . She was operated at Stonybrook Hospital and then transferred to a rehabilitation center. Then she came to the Hamlet Rehabilitation center to receive some more rehab. She received excellent care. The doctors & nurses and physical therapists and everyone down the line including the awesome Security guard that keeps everyone on their best behavior was there for my mother. They maintained very strict Covid policies and they keep the patients safe. Now the Covid policies are easier and visiting hours longer, but they still have policies to keep the patients and staff free of Covid. If you need good people and you need to rest to get well The Hamlet is your Facility. My Dad was as a patient years ago when he was recovering from Cancer it was a great place back then as well.I thank everyone that assisted my Mom & Dad they are wonderful peopleat the Hamlet. God Bless them for all they do for our Loved ones!!!Thank you Catherine Lopez!!!
This review is not based on the actual facility but rather one of their employees, Lisa Bollinger. Lisa is a class act and goes above and beyond for the patients and the families of those patients. I had a situation that needed to be addressed and Lisa stepped in and helped to make sure that my needs were met. She is kind, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Lisa was willing to do whatever it took to make sure that the end result was a positive one. There have been a few times where I was disappointed with the way others handled certain matters and Lisa came to the rescue during those times as well. If you are not completely delighted with the service you have received, please reach out to Lisa; she will do the right thing. Thank you Lisa for a job well done.
My mother has been a resident in the memory unit for two and a half years. We have been incredibly happy with the care that she has received. The staff is compassionate, loving, and attentive. Through the entire Covid pandemic, the staff made it a point to stay in close communication with us and have also arranged regular FaceTime visits as well as window visits so that we are able to see her. The Hamlet has been a blessing for our family.
My darkest hour of need I reached a hand to someone I didn’t know I never met before and the moment I came here those eyes looked back at me with such kindness, caring and compassion. I knew there was kindness in this earth but never to this depth. And that was the first moment and has continued since. I hadn’t been able to eat due to the sensitive lips, throat and mouth. Until I came here, it was not just sustained it was tasting and helped me to take my first steps as I continued to approaching the day I leave this community.
My mom was there in January 2011 to October 2011 the service was really excellent. And this this time my mom needs to go again in rehab our first choice was Hamlet Rehabilitation. Still they are doing fantastic job. Denise Chavez is really good person and very helpful and social worker chole. The physical therapy is great there.I hope my mom will come back home soon.
My experience at The Hamlet rehab center was excellent in terms of the physical therapy I received . Al van ? was my physical therapist and was consistently good at balancing encouragement with urgency to continue to work hard. His work was hampered by covid19 but we were able to overcome that obstacle and I went from not being able to walk to being able to become independent and when I left after 5 weeks I was able to walk out with a cane which I could do without at times
My mom was in the hamlet for 1 1/2 years and I have say it was a challenge because of the pandemic but the workers there were so good to my mom. Erin and Sara in recreation were amazing. From doing faceTimes to taking my mom to activities that were going on and just coming in her room to say hello and see how she is doing. They were super great and I can’t thank them enough!! Shelly was one of her aides and she was always there for my mom to make sure she had food when she didn’t like what was being served to being by her side when she was sad to taking her to activities that were going on. She would even FaceTime me on her own phone so my mom could see us before bed to relieve her anxiety .She was just amazing!! Her nurses Jennifer and Cecilia were just so caring in all her needs and did it with love and caring!! Thanks to all for taking such good care of her.
I am very happy with the care my Aunt is receiving. This is our 2nd Christmas at the Hamlet. It’s a bit challenging this year with all the restrictions and precautions but I feel better knowing that the staff there are doing all they can to make sure our family member is safe .The staff is amazing from the administration to the support staff . Nurses and Recreational departments have been my eyes and ears . I appreciate the level of attention given to me and my aunt. People like Erin , Christine , Sarah ,Tom the Mary’s in the Recreational department to name a few have been instrumental in keeping my aunt comfortable and my family informed .Let’s not forget the Nurses who have been working tirelessly to keep our love ones safe and for that I thank you .Wishing the entire staff at the Hamlet a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
My wife and I had such a wonderful experience visiting my mom, in person, today! We have been looking forward to not only being able to hug my mom, but to also introduce our new baby; her granddaughter, to her. Tears of joy steamed down my mom’s face as she touched her granddaughter. It was such an incredible moment. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by such a friendly staff member. Once our covid results both came back negative, we were let into the receptionist area. What a relief knowing the precautions that are being taken to keep not only my mom safe, but the other residents as well. The visiting tables were spaced accordingly, so that we had our own little area for just us. All of the staff were just fantastic. Eager to share how my mom was doing and how she was spending her time. It was just so nice to finally be allowed to visit, in person, and we cannot wait to make our next visiting appointment. Thank you everyone!!The Germana’s
My mother in law stayed with the hamlet for 2 months. She was sent for inpatient rehab after suffering from covid and other medical issues. The team named below really stays dedicated to their patients care. Not only that but keeping the family up to date and in partnership of a loved ones care.I have come across many social workers but no one is as dedicated as Chloe. She is the social worker with the hamlet who has such admirable work ethics with her patient and families. Her work is the reason why we felt like our loved one is at the right place. She worked so closely with us for 2 months straight to make sure our loved one was receiving all the help she needed. I cannot thank Chloe enough. From reassuring to advice to searching high and low for appropriate services, Chloe has done it all for our familySophia, the LPN, of all the people my mother in law interacted with, she cannot stop talking about her at all. Even now at home she talks about how she works with such love and genuine care. Sophia really was the angel our loved one needed by her side to support her journey to becoming better. Sophia’s dedication and care towards her patients is beyond admirable. We are forever thankful to Sophia. The nurse manager Jennifer is wonderful as well. We felt like our loved one was in a safe place thanks to Jennifer. She stays on top of everything of a patients needs to heal and also was great at keeping families up to date. Thank you so much Jen.
We are beyond thrilled at the care Dad is receiving at The Hamlet!! The dedication and compassion of the staff is second to none! From the smooth admission process (Kerry, Denise, Olivia) to the staff’s regular updates keeping the family informed (Chloe, Jenn), to the amazing Recreation Dept. (Mary, Kathy, Emory), to the wonderful cuisine, and to the overall professionalism of each and every one you come into contact with. We thank you!
My dad has been rehabbed in The Hamlet on two occasions this year.We joke that he was treated so well the first time that he just wanted to return there to visit everyone. The staff is caring and professional, every contact we had, beginning at the front desk, was positive; giving a cheerful, upbeat feeling to the residence. The medical and rehabilitative care was excellent. Each person who cared for him made that personal connection which is so important for someone convalescing away from home. Heartfelt thanks to the Hamlets nurses, nursing aides, rehab therapists, dietary aides and everyone there (too many to name), and of course their awesome concierge Joann, for the outstanding care my father received.
Hello, My Name is Robert Steele, I have stayed at the Hamlet for the past two years. The Hamlet has been my temporary home as I was looking for housing. With the assistance of the amazing team at the Hamlet I was able to finally get back to the community and back on my feet. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they have done for me as they have became my family and I look forward to keeping in touch with thwm beyond my stay. I would also like to recoginize a few amazing nurses who took care of me. Felice Oliver, Denise Mingola and Jennifer McCarthy, and the amazing DR Alam. They have been absolutely wonderful to me.
I came in not being able to walk in a lot of pain and it was all taken care. The staff members were able to take care of all my needs. All the nurses and nursing aides where fantastic and accommodating and helping. The therapists was very very good, they helped me through my pain and walking and now Im able to go home because of then. Also even the cleaning team kept Everything clean and got everything taken care of very strongly I would recommend this place. Currently my mother-in-law lives here and she loves it.
INCOMPETENT AND UNCONSCIONABLE.My father, who is a veteran, was here for more than two months. The Hamlet failed completely in his rehabilitation. They have inadequate facilities, provided unsubstantial meals, and poor laundry service. My father was in constant need of food and laundry, which we had to return repeatedly to provide, and they were not providing enough of either. Most importantly, the Hamlet did not keep us informed of his lack of progress, and the status of the insurance coverage. We were kept under the impression he would be capable of walking when the rehab was finished. Instead, the day of his discharge, they dumped a wheelchair on my parents driveway with no word. When I went to pick him up, he was wheelchair bound and incapable of even standing on his own. In short. zero progress. We had multiple nurses and physical therapists coming after his return, all of whom were in agreement he never should have been released. His rehabilitation has been entirely at home since then, and no thanks to the Hamlet. Now, the Hamlet has had the nerve to sue my father because the insurance did not cover the entire cost of his stay. This place is a disgrace.
The Staff at The Hamlet have treated the Rosado family with so much respect, honesty and courtesy. Eveyone that I have spoken to at The Hamlet have been so very helpful and knowlegeable. With the staffs help, my mother-in-laws tranistion from Rehab to Long Term Care has been seamless. They always returned my calls and have responded to my emails in a timely matter. I would like to give a Special shoutout to the following: Denise Chavez (Director of Financial Services), Dimitry Schwartz (Asst Administrator), Social workers (Patrice Valcourt, Chloe Harrington, and Denae Durham), Christine and Kathy from Activities and lastly, the receptionist Olivia.
I’m very very pleased with the hamlet when we came I found the staff very personable. Amanda Harris was very concerned about her patients welfare and Olivia is very engaging when you enter the building and helpful and informative I also appreciate Patrice he was very good with his explanations about everything we wanted to know I found the place to be very clean the room was very cheerful and bright I also found the music playing in the lobby very relaxing we were there it was 50s music it was soft I find when I come for the compassion of visits from my mom that she looks very comfortable and peaceful only thing that I didn’t like was on the second floor by the elevators in the nurses station you could use a little painting under the windows but that’s trivia at by far as a retired RN who work Who worked at a nursing home in Oceanside Long Island your place is superior as far as nursing homes is concerned
I am writing to say Thank you to all of the staff at The Hamlet Rehabilitation Center. Thank you for keeping my father safe and healthy during such a bad time. You all have act professionally and with a big heart. My father loves it at the Hamlet. Thank you for making him feel like family, especially when we are not aloud in because of Covid! This means the world to me. Thank you!
I am so relieved I got my father out of there! We had other complaints, too, but the most serious was that my father was taken off of one of his diabetes medications without he, or the family being advised. I only found out because I had a gut feeling to ask if he was being given it. They asked if I had a filled prescription for it then was told, That medication is very expensive and he isnt being given it, but if you bring in the pills we will put him back on it. I asked for the doctor to call and explain why the medication was discontinued, which he never did. I found out my father’s blood sugar, which had been in the 160-180 range with the medication, had been 215-293 while he was there without it, and they still left him off it. I brought two pills the next morning and had him out of there 24 hours later. Don’t base your decisions on experience in years past. My mother had been there several times around 2009-2013 and we had positive experiences, but evidently a lot has changed!
An ambulance brought my mom to The Hamlet Rehab Center at Nesconset.Ready in need, care on time. Super Staff: Doctors-Nurses-Aides- Receptionists... Everyday, sometimes twice a day, I spoke with the Social Worker Chloe- gets 5 Stars...she helped me through it all- and more, Thank You.My Mom doesn’t remember the week she spent at Stony Brook Hospital, but she sure remembers “The Hamlet”. Today, she misses all the caring attention she received in between her sleeping. She also comments that her food was delicious.Avi Goldstein-Administrator- Thank You - It was a pleasure meeting you. We are indebted to you and The Hamlet Team - you all know how to Get It Done.
Our much loved family member was recently moved to the Hamlet from another facility and, in spite of the present circumstances due to the COVID pandemic, we are so pleased with the staff and the Hamlet facility. All have gone out of their way to reach out to us in order to make our family member’s stay there a comfortable, positive experience. We would surely recommend the Hamlet to others.
Thank you Hamlet I had a great stay.I want to thank all the wonderful people that took care of me including Crystal my feeder aide, marry the housekeeper Evelyn my daytime nurse and police all over the evening aide, Evelyn. And the wonderful people at the rehab team. I have been here for over three months and I feel much better now compared to when I got first got here.
My name is Frank and I have been confined to a wheelchair for over six years and have resided in four locations. The personal here are either Nurses or CNA’s and are the nicest without exception. That also extends to Residents. The recreation, therapeutic and dining here are second to none. The Hamlet is a home away from home! All residents are treated with the highest level of love and respect! The food is great and there is always something fun and entertaing going on! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs rehab.I cant thank you guys enough!!
My stay at the Hammlet was very productive. The rehab was great thanks to Jerry, my rehab instructor and Karen. They got me back on my feet again. Mary Lantana was always there for me. Joann the concierge made my stay welcoming. John the night nurse was so good to me as well as my morning nurse Kelly was great. My aide Billy was great as well. It was a great experience and very warm and friendly environment!
Back in the beginning of 2020 I came to The Hamlet for physical therapy. During my stay here my experience has been extremely positive in that the nursing staff, especially Dee, my nurse from 3 to 11pm, MacKenzie and Justin who has been my weekend nurses, Teftlia who has been my 7 to 3 nurse ; these nurses to name a few, have been extremely kind to me; their nursing care has been excellent. The CNAs, in particular Jenny, Meghan, Dawn and Denise have always given me excellent care. The Recreation Department, in particular Tom Stewart bringing me happiness and joy either with a kind word or of course recreational activities facilitated by himself or other members of the recreational staff; Erin Daniels, our Art Therapist giving me projects to do especially during the pandemic crisis which has griped our nation; these members of the Hamlet professional staff takes excellent care not only to myself, but to the all our residents at the Hamlet.
My father in law was there for a few months and was completely ignore when He would hit the call button and the day shift would NOT help him they would leave it for the 3pm shift to come in. He would have accidents in his pants because they wouldnt come to check on him then he would be left to sit in it for HOURS. The food is inedible, the staff who cleaned the rooms would yell at him if he spilled something. The day before he was discharged they FINALLY showered him, his skin is literally falling off from being neglected. He has bed sores on his heels, my poor dad you all should be ashamed treating a human being this way. And now hes home and the doctor didnt even call in any of his medications they want him to takeTheres soooo much more Im too upset to go o n Oh and dont call me to tell me to change my review. N I said DONT CALL ME TO CHANGE MY REVIEW
The Hamlet of Nesconset treats the residents like family as well as the residents family . No matter the circumstances they always keep the family informed. The nurses and doctors and physical therapists are top notch . The Certified nurses aide treat the residents with dignity and respect always . I highly recommend this facility !
Not well with explaining. I was sent to Hamlet in February 2019 for physical therapy left below knee amputation. In all I was fortunate to be sent here. Everyone was extremely nice, Always treated me with utmost dignity,, The hospital that had done the amputation, had ignored another issue I had. When I arrived the staff realized the excruciating pain I had and sent me for further testing which was infection in my neck. The staff looked out for me and treated me with respect. My steady NURSES were Janna, Tracy, Beth, Melissa Feliz, Helen. Steady NURSES AIDES were Evelyn, Carol, and I know Im forgetting someone else she drove a jeep Cherokee. The nursing supervisor Donna who set up all my outpatient appointments, The steady Physical therapists Elena, Al, Allison, Joanne, Melanie, Justine, Wendy, Bob and John. Allison and Mary had done my initial evaluation. One of the ladies who I had therapy on weekends with I forgot her name also Jerry, and Alan who started towards the end of my stay. Joanne the concierge, I forgot the housecleaning ladies name and Crystal always had my ice cream same time every night. All of the above and ones I am forgetting I do apologize I cant say THANK YOU enough and appreciate all you did for me to recuperate and I have confidence with the physical therapy that I received Ill return to living a positive life.
My husband as a patient and myself as a spouse have been treated at this facility with caring, understanding and kindness. My husband has never been to rehab before and did not know what to expect. He not only was calmed of all anxiety but continued to be anxiety free for his entire stay. The P.T. dept was understanding of his limitations and worked around his schedule not theirs which also eased him into recovery. Every staff member treated both of us as human beings and looked like they did that to everyone hereWe will recommend this facility to anyone that needs to have a pleasant experience to a sometimes unpleasant reason for rehab. We dont have to name names because EVERYONE was professional and caring beyond measure. We Thank You All.Mr and Mrs Samuelson(Aka TH)
Absolutely zero stars!! My experience with this nursing home was actually so poor that I dont even know where to start. My father was only in for three and a half months and in those months my father lost the ability to walk on his own, use the bathroom on his own and feed himself. Now, I am not so ignorant that I was not expecting for his health to decline, however what I am most upset by is that no one told me about any of these conditions. When he was discharged from the home I was blindsided by all these things. Not one time was I told through email, phone call that he had any of these problems. In addition when I picked him up they did not return all his clothes and a picture in a frame that was actually very sentimental to our family was also missing. Not one worker could give an answer as to where it was. There was absolutely no compassion, no sympathy or professionalism when I picked him up. The workers were not only rude, but spoke among themselves as if I was not standing there. Anytime you call this facility you very rarely get an answer and the amount of time it does take to get through to a unit or person is actually downright unacceptable. I am writing this in hopes that people will take notice and if you care about your loved one at all, you will not subject them to such terrible care and negligence. I will actually be submitting a complaint to the BBB. My regret is that I will not get the time back with my father.
No communication between departments, lack of proactive communication to relatives of residents, loud, slow to respond to call bell, general feeling of unhappy staff on the room wings. Having a generally terrible experience with my mother who is a resident awaiting hospice facility bed. Long on apologies short on corrections. Lots of misinformation.
This has been such a terrible experience. My uncle had a uti and was in the hospital for a month in a bed. He needed rehab to strengthen his legs so he doesnt fall when he walks. After the hospital he was sent here to the Hamlet and it has been the worst experience ever. In the two months time that he stood there we could not get in contact with anybody we did not speak to one nurse. It’s bad enough that our family member has to be away from home during coronavirus and we were hardly even able to talk to him on the phone because he says the nurses refused to leave the phone near him. They sent him home the day his coverage ran out completely unable to walk. They milked his coverage and then shipped him out in worse shape then he went in. If you value your family members DO NOT send them here.
Bottom line is, my fathers personal belongings never came out of this facility. As he lay on his death bed in the Hamlet, someone stole his wallet, clothes and wedding ring. My mother has passed on and the wedding ring is very important to my family. They are doing nothing about it. Not only is my family dealing with the death of my father (under their care), but now we have to deal with him being robbed while vulnerable in the last hours of his life.
Zero stars! Unbelievably negligent and not at all concerned with the disappearance of my fathers belongings. He was there for two weeks after being released from the University hospital. He arrived Covid free after being tested at the hospital and somehow was exposed while in The Hamlets care, ultimately leading to his death. After weeks of trying to track down his belongings, I was eventually told that they couldnt locate ANYTHING. Its not a giant facility - where are his personal items?! Why cant I get any information?! Think twice before sending your loved ones here. Unacceptable!
There are not enough kind words in the dictionary to explain how the staff treats you at this facility. From the nurses, to the aides, to those in recreation, and in physical therapy everyone is an absolute delight. I was bedridden for months due to my injury and with the hard work and help of everyone there, Im back on my feet and feeling better than ever. I will never be able to properly express my gratitude for all the effort that everyone at this facility put in to assist me.
Well, I had a pretty long journey at the Hamlet. Upon first arrival I was very afraid. I was 34 yrs old unable to use my hands because joints was locked and unable to walk AT ALL due to temporary paralysis. Just to speak on the Physical Therapy Team, they were EXCELLENT!!!! John and Shannon got me right! Lolol I thank God for them. Now I had alot of interaction with the D.O.N Victoria she went above and beyond to make sure I was ok and that I was Comfortable and getting the best treatment. Nurse Jonna, Helen, Marie, and John were AMAZING nurses. If I missed anyone charge it to the Head not to the ❤️. I have to say that working with my social worker Patrice and my financial advisor Denise was a Pleasure!!! I will truly miss these wonderful people because they played an important role in my life and NURSED me back to Good Health and Wellness.
Ive been here since sept 8th, 2020, I love all the people here,The nurses and ades always treat us With care, and respect .its very clean, Every room And halls are cleaned and sanitized every day. , Ive been in other rehabilitation centers. And the love and caring is so good, in this time of covid every one stays safe and covered, were face masks, medications are giving on time, I have nothing bad to say since I moved here, at the age of 64, Im taking great care of, I recommend this place for there care and loving to all us patients, my name is Veronica wahl and I have nothing bad to say at all about my stay here. the food is excellent, like home-cooked food. I love it here and recommend it all to the public if you need a home long term or short term here, God bless all that run and take care of us here no matter what your heath problems may be.SincerlyVeronica wahl
Horrible customer service my mother has been our of for two weeks. Their job was to provide a home health care and they failed miserably. She has been home with care only from myself. Horrible people work here. Keep your loved ones far from this plave.it is a joke and sad they call themselves medical professionals. Somone working at McDonalds can provide better service.
They are beyond supportive and very good to my family member everyone shows such warmth and love especially through the difficult time of Covid. The staff are very dedicated and supportive,And they treat my Elsie like she is family. The facility is clean the rooms are beautiful

2022-06-14I want to take a few minutes to express how wonderful The Hamlet truly is. It is so evident how much the Recreation Department goes above and beyond to ensure the best customer care for all the residents. The residents, whether they left their room or not, always feels the Recreation team’s love, whether it is through a conversation with them, or dropping off a fun activity they can do independently. Every day I was an intern, I witnessed how they make the residents feel loved, safe, valued; and welcomed. Not only that, they make sure that the residents have a voice and at the same time, help them live the best life they can.I am blessed to have interned here, and wouldn’t change a thing. They taught me a lot of lessons I will carry with me. Being in the Recreation field has its own challenges, but when you are with people who lift you up, and want to make you better than you were yesterday, it is worth it. And that is what The Hamlet Recreation Department has done for me. Thank you for all you do. It doesn’t go unnoticed. You are very much appreciated!

2022-02-06The Hamlet has been such a wonderful place for my mother ‘s rehabilitation. The center is safe, clean, everyone is professional, lovely & friendly. Due to their care, and physical therapy, my mother has improved so much. Our mother’s care manager (Tiffany) is fabulous, and an excellent partner in my mother’s wellness journey. Our family is so thankful and grateful for The Hamlet. Thank you.

2022-07-01If you are looking for a nursing home or rehab The Hamlet is an excellent choice! Their Concierge, Tiffany, is extremely helpful and ensures you have everything you need! The nurses we had, Lauren and Lisa would update us even on their own time! Talk about going the extra mile! I can’t even begin how excellent Lamina, the Social Worker was! She follows through with everything and kept us updated every step of the way! A wonderful hardworking woman! Mary the housekeeper was excellent! I wish I knew all the aids names cause all are terrific but I was there to see aid Gigi do 10 things at once and utterly amaze me how hard she works! Indigo and Melissa ate first rate! All of the Hamlet Staff work hard and keep a smoke on their face! Very positive & upbeat! The renovations are absolutely beautiful! We are very happy and truly grateful to the Hamlet staff!

2022-04-09This was our fathers second stay at the Hamlet. Dad has made tremendous progress made at Hamlet Rehab in 6 weeks with the occupational and physical therapists. Lauren and her team (Nicole, Alexis and all the others whose names we dont know- thank you!) worked diligently to care for dad, to address questions and concerns and to get dad to outside appointments. The ability to communicate via text was also extremely helpful for our family. Concierge service provided by Tiffany further enhanced communication and Stefanie in social work coordinated the details for dads discharge. Thank you.

2021-12-29I highly recommend the Hamlet (if you an get in). The staff is unbelievable! My siblings and I were going through a rough couple of months with our father in and out of hospitals. The Hamlet was the only facility available for his rehabilitation and we hit the lottery. Sue Reimo from admissions called me and couldnt be more pleasant and caring in making sure we were comfortable and that his transition from hospital to rehab went smoothly. Sues communication through his entire time at the facility was amazing. I cant say enough about Lisa, Carol, Beth and the entire third floor nursing crew and supporting staff. Thanks Tiffany for the follow up and to everyone at the Hamlet for doing what you do. Youre all amazing and our father is doing well. :-)

2022-02-12My mother-in-law has been in the Hamlet for 3 months now. I just wanted to let you all know about the wonderful care she has been receiving. Dr. Z has been amazing with keeping us updated on blood test results as well as any other diagnostic tests that shes had.All of her nurses, especially Felice, Alexis, Lauren, Lisa and Ashley are always very helpful and willing to spend time with us and update us on her condition. Her aides, especially Ty, Regine and Cecelia have given her outstanding care as well. They are very kind and compassionate and reassure her when she’s feeling anxious. I also want to shout out to Crystal who is always there with a smile and an ice cream for her in the evening. OT and PT are very caring and compassionate and gave her wonderful care as well.I also want to mention the cleaning ladies, Lisa and Cheryl. Ive actually gone into her room and found them at different times holding her hand and talking to her when she’s feeling down. The social workers, Patrice, Chloe and Michelle have been very helpful in guiding us through this process. I would also like to acknowledge Tiffany, the concierge. She is always available to speak to us and give us advice on whatever we need.

2022-05-04I just wanted to acknowledge this place and these people for not only dealing with my 96 year old grandma, but the professionalism and care they gave her while she was at this place! They treated her like my grandmother was theirs and can’t explain how much this has meant to my family during this time. Thank you so much to the manager Jennifer and to the others we got to know throughout the stay (Jen S, Irma, Sophia, Helen, Eunice, and Nathalie) for always being patient with her and your honesty with us. You all are remarkable people and thank you for everything you have done especially in the last 2 years to help people in need!

2022-06-23I am the friend of the thornlows who have been there on and off for several years. I visit 5-6 times per week. I have met many of the staff(mostly kind). However just yesterday I met Indigo for the first time. I had brought the husband over to see his wife as they are still in separate rooms. Indigo came right over expressing how wonderful it was that they are together. She asked if she could make the visit nicer by providing cookies or ice cream. It might seems not so special but no one had ever celebrated their visit and tried to make I t more special before! She was kind and thoughtful and asked if there was anything they needed. Audrey said she is the sweetest aide she ever had. Thank you Indigo. Your kindness matters to those who need it most.
