The food was mind bogglingy good. Every ingredient was perfect, and the dishes were really well balanced. I had the pork torta, and the pork was perfect, but the amazing stand out was the perfect red peppers adding this fantastic sweetness to the dish. Everyone at the table loved what they got, and even the Saturday special mimosas were real mimosas, not watered down like you would expect. The staff were so polite. Love this place.
This is lesser known spot in Hell’s Kitchen because is not super noticeable from the outside. I walked by it once and decided to try it out for dinner on a Saturday night. Our dinner experience was very enjoyable and smooth. The food is delicious, the ambiance is nice and cozy (think dimmed lights) and the staff is friendly and professional. We ordered the duck (5 stars, yummy!), the hangar steak (soft, but too much pepper in the sauce for my liking), an octopus starter (delicious, but not to die for) and a Rosemary Blush cocktail (fantastic!). We were seated at a table but the place also has a bar with awesome cocktail offerings and a lively bartender. Prices are reasonable for NYC, and the seating is not too crammed despite limited space. Overall, great neighborhood spot... will be back for brunch!
We arrived a few minutes before the kitchen was closing at 11 and the staff were so accommodating for our hungry group. The food was amazing - every single dish! Would definitely come back. In addition the ambiance was perfectly dimmed and the music was good. So happy with this find!
This place has a great ambience pretty cozy and is bigger than it first appears eith seating in the back. The staff are attentive without being overbearing. I recommend this place mainly for the cocktails, theyre a bit pricey at $14 a pop but they are tasty. I had the Oaxacan Monk which is a mezcal cocktail and then the Smokey Rye (might not be the actual name) which is bourbon based, both really nice especially if you arent a fan of sweet drinks. Unfortunately, while the food is well presented I think in terms of flavor its unfortunately a bit mediocre to my palette. I tried their oysters, escargot, hummus, duck and hanger steak. The oysters didnt taste as fresh as I would have liked; the escargots were served in a basil garlic butter sauce that felt a bit too much; the hummus was quite tasty actually; so was th duck and the hanger steak but it also wasnt the best Ive ever had. Overall I recommend this place for cocktails and maybe a date spot.
Beautiful place, perfectly dimly lit, romantic or not, organically sourced small restaurant with an awesome, very attentive staff. I had a wonderful time! Definitely a great spot for dates, friends, and coworkers from out of town. Creative, flavorful cocktails and a nice beer menu with creative and very pleasant mixologists, not just bartenders, but a high number of steps above. I stress that the staff are awesome! The food was delicious! Do visit and make your own assessment, but I believe you will be happy when you leave satisfied.
I like the ambience: minimalistic elegance. The food: well seasoned. My husband had the pork shoulder with chimichurri crust, very good-he said. I had the Cod with celery root pureé with leeks- I would recommend it. Dessert was Spiced pumpkin cake with cranberry sauce and poached pear. The flavors were good, but cake could have been fluffier. The service/waiter gets five stars, by itself. Overall great experience, great food. Would come back.
WOW!! First time at The Harrow and it was a pleasant surprise. Hidden Gem in the heart of Hells Kitchen and sheltered from the TSQ crowds. Craft cocktails rival some of the best in the city! Food was fantastic! Small but impressive wine list. The ambience and service were equally great. Burger and short ribs were absolutely outstanding! If youre in the neighborhood, you must put this on your list!
Tasty, great staff, and very well priced for the neighborhood. Four of us shared two salads then each had a main dish which was plenty of food. Kale Caesar was my favorite of what we had. Crispy Pork shoulder was good, Octopus pasta very good. Steak and burger looked great but I didn’t try.
What a fantastic experience. The host was energetic and welcoming, our server was kind and provided suggestions for every course including drinks and the food was tremendous. Ive sent notes to several friends to not only go, but go and have the exact menu I did. For a party of 2, we had the bacon, the squid ink risotto and the octopus salad. Hurry there.
We went in for a Saturday dinner with friends and got a table right after we got in. We got a cocktail each which was good. The bacon covered dates were good too. We ordered the kale salad and the burger for mains. The salad was good but the burger was ok. The spaghetti was ok too.For dessert we ordered the cookies and the chocolate cake. The cake was just burnt and crunchy. We asked the server if this was right and he said that thats the way it is. If you like burnt crispy cake then you could go for it.
Great neighborhood “fancy” restaurant when you want to have a nice celebration but not go out of Hell’s Kitchen. The octopus was perfect and flavorful. So were our entrees - the steak, the pork, the fish. It’s also a lovely stop for an after work glass of wine and snack.
Lovely little restaurant with a nice ambiance. Indoor seating well spaced out for social distancing in this time of Covid. We had happy hour appetizers, drinks and the crispy pork. The food was tasty, unique flavor profiles and good size for the price. The Harrow cocktail was delicious, light and well balanced, not too sweet or tart. Our server was lovely and attentive. Would definitely return to try other dishes.
We love the food at Harrow and the cocktails have been amazing consistently! We’re thrilled they are reopens for outdoor seating. Please let them know you’d like to eat there even if they look full- they have space to expand! Our server, Kristie, was kind and generous and hospitable. Amazing service and food! One of our favorite places in the city.
This weekend we were lucky enough to enjoy dinner at The Harrow NYC. Executive chef, Eric Thomas creatively transformed the varied menu offerings with unusual ingredients and pairings, herbs and spices from around the world and his own vision to ensure your dining experience would be both delectable and memorable.I tried one of their ten signature cocktails, Botanica, and was delighted by the bright, fresh taste with herbal tones served in a vintage Nick & Nora glass. I need to return another nine times to try the others. We began with a succulent slab of Cider Glazed Bacon over a blue cheese with a hit of ginger syrup and warmly spiced dates as garnish. The bacon was salty and sweet and smokey, crispy on the outside with a hint of char on one edge and tender on the inside. In other words: PorkPerfection. We also enjoyed a Chicken Liver Mousse which combined the savory flavor of chicken liver with a smooth, light, melt in your mouth mousse, raising chicken liver to a whole new level. For an entree, I chose the House-Made Short Rib Raviolo. Chef Eric Thomas ingeniously sent this dish on a new trajectory with one large, plate sized raviolo, thereby solving the main problem with ravioli-a tiny teaspoon of filling surrounded by a lot of pasta. His large square pasta made room for a generous portion of short rib filling happily turning the proportion of filling to pasta upside-down. I noticed the attention to detail in the perfect 1/8” dice on the carrots to match the size of the other veggies, afloat in the delicious broth.Don’t leave without dessert; You’ll thank me later.
Edit, 5/2021As great as always! Had brunch today. Its so good to be back in the city, especially at the Harrow. Great food, great service, as always. The French toast dish is one of the best things Ive eaten in a very long time. Get to this place.Wow, wow, wow! The Harrow was fantastic! Great food, great wine list, great service. Every bite was simply delicious and better than anything youve eaten. Dont miss the Cider Braised Bacon and the Grilled Octopus. Cant rate this high enough. Go there!
One of my favorite places to dine! The ambiance, the food, the waitstaff, is top notch. Easily one of the best places in Hells Kitchen area for a dining experience. Highly recommend! Ive been there countless times for numerous occasions and they never fail to exceed expectations.
We stumbled upon this place by chance and were so happy we did. We had a truly magnificent dinner. Mushroom tart and steak tartare were delicious, flavorful and fresh. For my entree I had the burger, my companion had mussels which I’ve never seen prepared this way, so good. Very nice atmosphere, quiet but I think it’s just a matter of time before people find out about this gem and it starts bustling with activity. We’ll be back soon for sure
A place of knowing what they are doing. The 4 stars I gave for their food and drink. We went as a party of 3. The lamb I had was nicely cooked. I ordered medium, and it came out just as I expected with acceptable very slightly lamb smell. We ordered all three soft cocktails. Maybe a little bit sour but I was fine with it. Only my friends steak and duck breast were undercooked, but the way they handled it deserved the last star. At least I could feel their sincerity, and it tured out my friends were satisfied with the dinner as well. Sorry no picture this time.
Wonderful dining experience. Beautiful space with delicious food, tasty cocktails and attentive service. Loved the mussels, what an innovative and flavorful dish. Same can be said about the octopus pasta, creative, simple and so delish. The rosemary blush cocktail was wonderful. Great addition to the neighborhood
I live just a few blocks away from this place and visited twice already. First time out of curiosity, second time because it was so great. Very pretty, cozy interior. Mushroom tart for starters was delicious and full of flavor. The pork dish was amazing. My favorite dish was the bass with grapefruit, truly delicious and so fresh. I had the monk cocktail, which is spicy and refreshing at the same time. Overall, I’m excited about this addition to my neighborhood.
I went to this place for the first time and to i am so happy about it! The atmosphere was so sexy and intimate, perfect for a date and to get some drinks! The staff was so attentive! They made our night amazing! We had mushroom tart and it was so good! Also we ordered the duck and it was cooked to perfection!Very nice selections of drinks as well! Will definetly come back!
I had the duck and the escargot. Both were cooked perfectly. The duck was very juicy and tender and the pomegranate sauce that came with it was perfect. The escargot was delicious and already pulled from the snail shells. The ambience was great, and the staff was quick and attentive. Definitely check this spot out if you’re in the area.
I visited The Harrow for the first time this week. Everything about this place is 5 stars except the location in my opinion. Cocktails list will take some time to run through with so many delicious, craft options. I highly recommend the mushroom risotto and burger. Neither will disappoint! Happy hour is supposed to be a hit here too with great small plates. Planning to come back soon.
My husband and I stopped at their bar after a Broadway show last week. I judge a book by the cover, so because I liked the decor, we decided to walk in to have something small. And I’m glad we did. We tried a few of their delicious signature cocktails and tuna and steak tartare. Oh my, they were both delicious! We didn’t have dinner, but ended with a couple of desserts. The cheesecake and chocolate chips cookies were out of this world! I can’t wait to go back for more!!!
Nice place, great food. Loved the hummus, it’s not your boring sabra hummus. It’s so fresh, with tasty toppings and awesome lavash cracker. The duck was cooked to perfection, loved the persimmon purée with it. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies hit the spot just right, simple and decadent. The vanilla dipping sauce was amazing with them. Our server Graham was knowledgeable and attentive
Had a wonderful time and dinner at the Harrow. Food was spectacular, desserts scrumptious and decadent but not overly sweet. Must try vegan pavlova ! Wow! Drinks are innovative and fun! Service was attentive but not intrusive which I like very much. Great experience, would definitely recommend this place! I will be back for sure.
I wouldve been upset if I had to wait so long for the food if it turned out to be underwhelming but the dishes were fantastic. Portions leaned towards small, but we ordered a few mains to share.Pricey but worth it! Baked Cod, Hangar Steak, Grilled Duck was perfection.
AWESOME experience. Im glad I picked this place for a friends birthday dinner. Many places, when they first open, are still a little shaky, not quite there yet. Not The Harrow. Despite being a new addition to the area, it already got his act together and running smoothly. My friend and I had an amazing time here. From cocktails thru appetizers to wine and dinner, it was all Wow!!! The great service and sexy contemporary vibe added a special touch to a fantastic time.
This bar/restaurant is new they have a great staff and the drinks and food are awesome! I went to see a show with my boyfriend and found parking on 11th and walked to 10th to grab food and a drink before the show. They had thier air conditioning on which made us so happy and comfortable. The staff is so friendly the bartender Jonathan was amazing he helped us with the cocktail menu which was out of this world! He is an artist when he makes his drinks. We will definitely be back when we head back to the city.
Good place, went with friends once for drinks and again for dinner. We were primarily intrigued by the lobster pierogis, but, found them a tad lacking in salt/taste/lobster. Mainly potato with a hint of lobster. But the foie gras appetizer was divine, I did not expect that at all. Give it a go!
This place has great food but the service is very awkward and slow. I went when they first opened and they had several cocktails on the menu that I tried that were vom dot com. When I went back a second time for the food, I noticed the offenders had been replaced on the cocktail menu.
Excellent food cooked perfectly, along with excellent drinks. Doesnt get much better without going another dollar sign up the ladder.Eat:Hanger steak, crispy pork shoulder, lobster potato pierogis, escargot (!!!!!), shrimp ceviche, smores tart for dessertDrink:Oaxacan monkTipping point

2021-11-22If I lived close to here, I would go broke!Truly an exceptional dining experience. The cocktails are second to none and every dish was delectable. The Maine Mussels were superbly seasoned and the duck was crispy and juicy. Both whisky cocktails were delightful for different reasons. I’m still in a euphoric state after enjoying this delicious meal.

2022-06-12So good! The food was great, the brunch special 3 brunch drinks + entree for $44 is a steal. We got the eggs Benedict, cheese and bacon omelette, buttermilk sandwich, and biscuits and gravy - all so good.

2021-10-06Beautiful ambience and amazing cocktails! A bit pricey, but great for a nice night out. Their Happy hour deals seem extremely good. We loved the zaatar spiced pita and their hummus. The sage infused vodka had an amazing flavor to it in The Wise Woman which also Id recommend.

2022-05-08Consistently great food. The bacon is out of this world (if you also like blue cheese). Great cocktails as well, stone quite unusual. I have not had any bad meal there so I would definitely recommend this restaurant in the neighborhood

2021-07-03Maybe I caught them on an off day, but the Saturday brunch wasnt great. Our waitress seemed new/confused. She asked if I could change my iced latte order because it wasnt in the system? Haha then my girlfriends pasole come with the egg yolks cooked and the egg white liquid. Not too sure how the chef pulled that off. Anyways, breakfast is pretty simple and Im pretty laid back reviewer but I took off a couple stars - 1 for service and 1 for the food.

2019-12-23The Harrow is my go to brunch spot, they have great entrees and drinks! The drinks will get you by surprise though! I love the entire brunch menu, but the crispy pork is probably my favorite, followed by the toasted coconut French toast. The staff is also really nice!
