I learned about the Hinsdale/Dandy house the other week and the history behind it is phenomenal. My mom and I drove up and visited the house the other day and the scenery is beautiful, its at the end of a road in a clearing and it would be a really nice place to live if it werent for the infestations. We did not stay long enough nor did we get close enough to see any activity, but I didnt plan to anyway! It definitely has an eerie feeling to it even from the road, just knowing everything that had happened on this property. I was floored to find out that Ed and Lorraine Warren had taken part in one of the exorcisms! Really cool history behind this place.

If youre going in expecting to see a full body ghost.. Dont go. It doesnt work that way. The place is so haunted. You dont see shadows or a floating person swing around you need equipment and just the feeling you get alone is enough. The oppression you feel in marys room is real. Got the taste of blood in my mouth and a slight pressure in my back. First i thought it was a cramp.. But i could not shake it. Why is it this one room? I would not be here alone. Dan and his crew are great. Thanks Dan for keeping this place from demolition.
One of my favorite paranormal hot spots! This was my fourth time at the house and its so wonderful to see the new improvements every time I return! On a side note, we went into town (Olean) for dinner on a Saturday night and it was quite busy. Recommend calling ahead or getting reservations. The old Library is a very good restaurant.
Very haunted place but it is mostly active with positive spirits.

Went down tonight to check out the Dandy house and got stuck in the mud. The owners were having a Christmas party and invited us in while we waited for a tow. Very nice people, and they even gave us a small taste of the history of the house and a spirit investigation while we waited. Will likely be going back for a tour and a night stay. Interesting place and very nice people in charge down there!
It was a great experience! The history is so much more than what you can read from any form of media. We did make contact with a spirit which wasnt scary but exciting. Our psychic medium guide, was so informative and pleasant.
I live 15 minutes from here and this was my first visit. And I cant wait to go again! Daniel was courteous, informative and made it a pleasant time. Couldnt believe time went by so fast, caught some stuff on the spirit box. Still reviewing evps. Thank you Daniel for rescuing this haunted property.
Great Historic Place
We spent 1 night there, it was very active what I like about it is they have cameras and you can buy all of the footage it saves a lot of time on setting it up yourself. The caregiver was a sweetheart and we had a great time
I got to attend a gathering here hosted by the amazing Chelsea Gill. She was a perfect host: a fun, capable, attentive, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the rich, old and dark history of the area, from its history occupied by Natives to its ownership by the Dandy family. The grounds are beautiful and the home is clearly well loved and maintained by the owner, Dan, whom I didnt meet but heard plenty of good things about after hearing his name whispered by a something a few times. The night of the tour was painted by a clear sky, a beautiful sunset, a big bright full moon, and almost overwhelmingly all of the feelings, experiences, and chills you would expect from a place labeled haunted! It was well worth every moment spent.
Stay at the end of January 2020. Owner is very accommodating and ensured we were met on site with a brief history of the house, rules etc. Stayed at many haunted places and it is luck of the draw if anything happens. With that said the place did not disappoint and a lot of unique things happened to us as the night went on. Something for sure goes bump in the night at this place. Would stay again 100%.
If you are new to investigating or seasoned you will walk away from this houseland with stories and evidence. Ive had experiences in the woods behind the house and in the house.

For the serious paranormal investigator, or simply the adventurous thrill seeker, the Hinsdale House will not disappoint. With an unsettlingly dark history and mysterious origins, the property itself seems to shroud the home with a palpable, dark paranormal energy. We are talking about a home that was exorcised by a team of individuals including clergy and Ed and Lorraine Warren in the 1970s, during the Dandy familys residence there. Several well-respected paranormal investigators from all over the country have experienced disturbing paranormal occurrences there, many of which have concluded that demonic forces are at work. Paranormal investigator Nick Groff (Ghost Adventures, Paranormal Lockdown, Ghosts of Sheperdstown) was followed home by an entity from the Hinsdale House, and was awakened, taunted and stalked by this entity in his own home for several months afterwards (See Paranormal Lockdown S01E05 and Season 1 Bonus The Black Monk House). Nick even captures the entity on his home security cameras. This haunted abode is not for the weak at heart or the extremely nervous individual. Pack your Holy Water and an extra pair of underwear (or three), because youre in for a helluva time.
We had a great time. Lots of activity in the forest and in the house. We will definitely go again.
Loved our investigation. The owner was pleasant as was our guide who met us and provided a nice introduction to the house. Loved the fact that the fridge was pre-stocked with water and sodas and a honor system was in place for purchases.It has been over a year since our visit and we all are looking forward to a return trip soon.
A lot of activity, extremely creepy and unsettling vibes. Feels like someone is always watching. 10/10 recommend going if you are a paranormal enthusiast!

My wife and I visited the house Halloween Night. While we didnt see anything paranormal, the house definitely gave me a feeling of unease, especially in Marys Room on the second floor. The owner is presently rehabilitating the place, and saved it from demolition - which is a good thing. Besides the historical value of the house, it is invaluable to those who study the paranormal. Thanks Dan, for saving the house!
You could feel the negative energy as soon as u walked up to the house. It has a strange area out back in the woods just up the hill where all the plan life seems to be dead as compared to the greener radius around it. Several gigantic oddly twisted trees dont help how it feels out there either. U cannot get Inside the house and for good reason. The property is posted and I do not recommend visiting at night. It is enough of an experience in the day time as is... theres no reason to push it and be stupid....
Loved visiting this home. The energy was not negative during our visit. We had positive interaction with several spirits and moving marbles out of nowhere!
Went there for a over night investigation with Pit Cru. It was awesome. The land and the property is huge. Its definitely haunted. If you ever get a chance to go investigate or even see it, its definitely worth it. Lots of paranormal activity.
It is definitely haunted. Basement was creepy, and the living room/kitchen area was also active. Nice area surrounding the property. Very clean and well kept as well.
I actually had the ghost talk to me. It sounded like a groan, but was very very real.It also touched my clothing with a firm grip.I kid you not. The wind blew hard like a tornado. I was not scared though.

House was very dirty, toilet didnt work very well the lady that came and dropped off the keys was friendly. House was not scary at all. I think with the amount the charge you to stay there it should at least be clean.
Got out of the car and stayed about 75 feet away from this house,it was a peaceful day I took a video of the house and surrounding yards the video was 1minute and 40 seconds long, when I played back the video it would go out of focus and back in focus for the whole video. never had that happen on any other video
This is a really good haunted house. Iv been coming hear for years. I highly recommend this place. Dan the pickle man is a nice guy.
Saw this place on Paranormal Lockdown. Place is definitely haunted. 10/10 would never go there myself. Invaluable to paranormal investigators if they want demons to follow them home.
Very good median. Sitting by a barn fire and listening to the stories. Very creepy inside with all the electronics that go off at certain times. Great staff.
Ive been there twice. It hasnt been very active but, the scenery is beautiful and you can have bon fires there. Thats a win for me!

Their was a deaf girl that immediately TOLD US TO LEAVE, after a hour and a half drive, everyone talks about it so I figured Id just stop and check it out, very disrespectful people, I will Never come to try to see it again

You would not believe the b******* these people throw away on our road and how rude they are inconsiderate and they believe all the b******* lies that people tell them why do they have to harass us and drive on our Hill when the road turns left this place is a pain in the neck I think it should be close down its condemned

2022-01-19Its an interesting place but I wouldnt recommend staying overnight in the winter there. Too cold, the space heaters couldnt keep up with the extreme cold. The activity at the house was minimal since even the ghosts felt it was too cold. We heard a few interesting noises, some orbs and non orbs caught on camera and the spirits seem to be playing around since they would stay quiet but once we left a room they would have all the sensors go crazy. Still reviewing film and evp recordings. #TowerParanormalInvestigations

He is working hard to make sure this house and land are preserved so people can investigate for years to come. This is truly his labor of love. Hes an amazing human and the Hinsdale is amazing too!

Something woke me, Im wide eyed and checking around the room with my eyes, I dare not move, not showing my back. I swear there is something in the doorway of Marys room though I cant see it. I know there is something walking around the bed, again I cant see it. My husband has sat up 2 times now and looked around the room ( he doesnt remember doing this) and laid back down. He did ask me one time if I was pulling on his shirt ( I did NOT). At least 6 to 10 times I smelled mens deodorant above and near me, about 2 or 3 breaths and it would disappear. I felt something touch my neck, and forehead, if I turned my head something would touch the other side. I dared not get out of bed, and I slept with my cross in my hand and prayed repeatedly for Jesus to protect me, and constantly looking out the window urging the sun to rise. I did doze off a few times during all of this, and was woke up so many times. When the sun came up I hurriedly woke the others and we packed up the rest of our things, the 4 of us that stayed the night sat at the kitchen table and prayed for ourselves and the other 3 members that left early.
