The Home Depot in other cities:
Called to have 27 bundles of shingles put together for pick up, said they had no-one working it was just the guy that I talked to there. Would not help, Asked to get 4 bundles of shingles off second rack, waited 30 minutes before I climbed up and got them myself, upon crashing out with 1500 worth of stuff I had two rude cashiers at the customer service desk, very unhappy. Going to lowes from now on
Old review was too long - editingI ordered over $2000 in materials to build a deck. The most expensive and plentiful item on that order being composite trex decking.1) Saratoga gave me a delivery date, I took off a day from work to be home for the delivery and they cancelled that morning. Last minute. They didn’t have the decking. This happened 3 more times, wasting a month.2) The last week of that month - after a lot of phone calls and arguing - they delivered what they had in stock. My whole order - minus six sixteen foot boards. Those six, I was told, would be shipped separately to me from the Amsterdam store, as they were getting a shipment that week.3) Amsterdam never delivered the last six boards because “it’s not big enough of an order on their own” (it WOULD HAVE BEEN if you count the other $2000 worth of stuff it was supposed to be shipped with). They said to call Saratoga. Saratoga said to call Amsterdam. Eventually, I drove to the store, took six of those sixteen ft boards and cut them in half, in the middle of the store, with a hacksaw and brought them home as 8ft boards. Home Depot doesn’t cut composite materials because it’s “bad for their saw blades” - that’s why I had to buy a hacksaw and go to town on it myself instead of having them cut it.I put those boards that had to be cut in half under where the outdoor couch goes on my deck. To hide the cut/seam that only they have. I should never have had to resort to that, though.BTW / Edit - two months later, at the end of the summer, a truck showed up with six boards. Over a month after I had been fully refunded. Had to refuse the delivery - which literally came out of nowhere due to someone not paying attention
Terrible experience. Woman at customer service treated me with an attitude like I was bothering her and trying to get help in lumber area was impossible. Employees were too busy filling online orders to help. Aisles were so full of online orders you cant get down them with a cart. Ill just go to Lowes from now on
Store is dishonest, needed to return pex plumbing, store employees openly accused me of cutting lengths of it off despite the fact it was still clearly wrapped in factory packaging, and were full length strips. Be careful when dealing here, as they are either ignorant or dishonest. (Edited March 2022) Against my better judgement I stopped by again for a sump pump. It was advertised online for $75. In store, I found out that was the bulk price, I had to purchase 3 or more to get the $75 price. It was actually $100. Fortunately the Harbor Freight next door was honest in their online pricing, and got my business as a result. My mistake for not going there in the first place!
I go here if I can find a better deal or if there’s a specific item I need from here. Not the biggest fan of how the stores are set up warehouse like but like most other chain retailers you can pretty much find what you need if you know the layout. I utilize the app to help navigate me to the aisle I need to be in and the staff will help if you need it. Decent selection of products too.
I had an extremely unpleasant experience with an order I placed that had its promised delivery window missed. I had to call the 800 number for Home Depot to work things out (twice) because anyone I talked to at this store either had a rude attitude, conflicting information, or refused to take accountability. As far as Im concerned, my future visits will be to the competitors up the street since they would at least treat me as a customer instead of a nobody.
I ordered countertops. Let’s just say it was a long process from start to finish. Getting ahold of someone in that department to ask questions is hell. I had them installed and the stone had chips, they had to drill into my wall to install because the measurements were off. I paid for everything before measurements were done and never had any adjustments witch I thought is weird. Although the counters are beautiful but for 4K I don’t think there should have been so many imperfections in the countertops. Also when I had them deliver a new fridge and stove they scared the hell out of my floor with the stove. I’ve spent so much money here with very bad service. Guess we will be switching to Lowe’s.
Paid the deposit for the measurement and the guy was late. Then he measured and left without asking questions or answering any. Then the install was scheduled. That part was easy and pleasant. But then I never heard from HD about delivery so I called them. An hour later they scheduled for the day before install. Got a dumpster. Scheduled the other projects with my contractor that had to be done after install of floors. Day of delivery i had to take aim unpaid sick day to be home for delivery. Never came! Three hours and 2 phone calls later they never put my order on the truck. More calls. More frustrating conversations. I had to postpone the other jobs and demand a full refund from HD. I have never been so frustrated and disappointed by a professional business before. I will NEVER go to HD or recommend them for anyone. Or anything. EVER.
I purchased a Over $2200 countertop from Home Depot on December 18, 2020 and on December 26 they came out to take the measurements for the countertop and had asked me if I wanted to pay an additional charge to have a solid one piece countertop which I agreed to pay the additional $250 to get I also noticed that the person working for Stonework (Justin) had gotten different measurements than I did when I originally measured the countertop and he had it suggested that there was going to be an additional charge for the miss measurement by grudgingly agreed because I am not a professional when it comes to measuring things however after almost 4 weeks with no communication between Home Depot and or Stoneworks to me they indicated there was a additional amount still needing to be paid before they could make delivery of the product which they had already fabricated at this point I said well no one told me that the amount was due at this time and if I had known that they were just waiting to receive an additional payment I would’ve gotten it done much sooner, but there seems to be some breakdown in communication between Home Depot and the company Stonework. After making the additional payments coming to approximately $500 they said they would make an appointment to come out and install the countertop after they arrived four weeks later at this point in February. The installation crew arrived and had noticed that the countertops was not measured correctly and was too large to fit in the space that we were putting it in. And they had to remove the countertop take it back and cut it down to fit properly which took an additional 10 days now almost the beginning of March. After which they told me one of the installers came down with COVID-19 and was unable to make it back to my house to install the countertop in a timely manner. After they remove the additional material I was never credited for the additional 36 Cubic feet they remove from the countertop. After contacting the manager Alario He assured me that there would be A refund given to me however I never received any such refund even after making follow-up calls to find out what was going on it seemed as though they were not interested in following up with me. Ultimately I paid 36 more feet than I actually received in addition the countertop was supposed to be in one piece that I paid an additional $500 for which ended up being in five pieces. As a result I find myself shopping at Lowe’s now for all my necessary home improvement needs and if I need lumber I go to Curtis lumber now. And I will not be going back to Home Depot for anything ever again the customer service was not even there at any point it felt during this whole interaction. I decided to make this post to warn future buyers of countertops at Home Depot working with the company Stonework. As neither company seemed interested in maintaining or keeping any future potential business. I should also mention that over the last four years I have spent nearly $50,000 at Home Depot alone on Home improvements such as new windows doors flooring roofing plumbing etc. and ultimately my final thought for both companies is utter disappointment.
We were waiting for a sale person in the appliances department for half an hour and nobody came to help us. We asked two other sale persons during that time and they called for help but nobody came anyway. We decided to come the next day (today, September 8th 2020, around 5 pm) and try again but experienced the same problem. We ended up going to Lowe’s and bought all our appliances there, with excellent customer service and no waiting time. They even offered free delivery to our house! Dear Homedepot of Amsterdam, I just wanted to let you know you just lost about $2000 in sales and a good customer.
Worst store ever special order slate tile waiting a week for it finally came in went to pick it by myself I may add waiting a long while to get help to load in my vehicle only to get it home to find it was all broke and damaged brought it back not one care for my trouble very rude customer care and less care giving to customers got my money back headed to lowes much better experience and now will finish my kitchen with only Lowes merchandise
The worst service ever. After ordering flooring in the store middle of December, spent 3 wks trying to find out where it was. I went to the store to try and get my money back and the people at the service counter were extremely nasty and rude. I had to demand to speak to a manager which I did. He assured me my flooring would be in the store the following Monday. I went to the store Tuesday to pick it up and was told it would be delivered to my house on Friday so I said ok and left. Well here it is Friday no floor and NOW they are saying next Friday. I have never in my life complain about a company but this time is out of control.
Its a giant Toys-r-us for adults. Endless opportunities of projects to accomplish. Staff are usually walking around to help you out if needed, but sometimes you have to go to certain departments to find someone. If you have the home Depot app, you can look something up and find out exactly where it is. Even if there is an item with no price sign, rare, but I encountered one, I pulled the app up and scanned the barcode. Glad I did. It was a great oscillating fan, but not at that price tag. Prices are compatible to Lowes and other hardware stores.
This is absolutely the worst home depot I have ever been to. The staff is rude & not helpful at all, they need a complete staff readjustment. Tried to return an item that was not opened at all within 27 days and the guy said its almost been a month hahaha Really??? Learn some customer service skills before having a job that deals with the public. I wish I can give a Zero rating because thats what they deserve.
Kaye from Fllooring just assisted us today. Not only was she very knowledgeable about the products, she was knowable about installation as well. Her customer relation skills can not be beat! She showed genuine care and insisted on loading the products rather than letting my 66 year old husband do it! She’s the best!
Home Depot is a amazing place, you can find everything you need for your home. From every size screw and bolt, to do it your self home improvement. A great selection of tools, and appliances, and the best paint on the market. A staff that always answer all youre inquiries..I luv Home Depot...
This location, while convenient is lacking in customer appreciation and service. Staff seem rude and like they dont want to work. When someone does actually offer assistance, which is rare, they seem to know what they are talking about. Not my first choice! Saratoga springs location is better.
HORRIBLE customer service. We drove an hour + to purchase flooring they had in stock. They refused to price match their queensbury store where we purchased $1500+ of the exact same flooring. It took almost an hour for them to get the boxes of flooring to the service desk then there was no one to help load it. Finally a woman decided to help since I was heading out the door with it (I had a 6 month old baby with me). Rude woman working customer service. Very frustrating. This was an average weekday, not a busy saturday.
Will not shop there during COVID outbreak. Doors are clearly marked that masks are required. All employees were wearing masks, however, inventory takers were not. While most customers were wearing a mask, several were not yet were being served by store personnel. Do not understand why these people are not asked to leave the premises.
A store with a wide range of items from outdoor lawn and garden, lumber, plumbing, paint, appliances etc.Offering name brand as well as off brand tools and other items. Prices are relatively average to others and they offer several different charge cards depending on what you will use it for. I would have given it 5 stars however their customer services could use improvement however I still shop here frequently.
Jim and Eric were wonderful at assisting in a online order store pick-up situation. It took 3 conversations, but they were finally able to get the Online people to do their job and get us the missing shower. Just like my old home depot, I feel like my husband, son and I are welcome and its like CHEERS! everyone knows us here. Although its a corporate store it feels like a local hardware store.
Worst customer service ever. Went to return a item, seven people behind the customer service counter, waited at least five minutes before i even got a hello. People looked at me, turned gheir back and continued doing whatever ghey were doing rather than taking carees of customers. Goodbye Lowes
Truck rental for moving took awhile to organize... then they gave me the keys to a HUGE 25 FOOT TRUCK!Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I needed hiking gear to get in it & had no idea where the emergency brake was! I was looking all over the floor for like 10 minutes before noticing a handle right in front of my face. Then I actually drove a truck for the first time in my entire life!?!?! Hahahahahaha...... I had NO Business driving that monstrosity & don’t know how I even pulled it off! Whiplash every time I used brakes & got tossed at the windshield a lot too with the belt on!Man when I parked that screeching thing I never got in it again!!!! Literally sat there for 2 days because I didn’t know how to open it & the door was so high up in the air I couldn’t reach it anyway. Finally my brother came over & operated it!I didn’t crash it but man I’m sore!
Terrible customer service. Myron Simon was supposed to meet me at my residence for a quote on several windows. I took a half day off work to meet him. He never showed you, never called, never emailed... Nothing! I have 3 calls into the store and all Ive received is empty promises that somebody will call me back to get things resolved. Its been over a week and I havent heard a thing from Home Depot in Amsterdam. Its extremely unprofessional for a large company like this to have such a disregard and callous attitude towards its customers, especially ones that were going to spend thousands of dollars on windows. I will never deal with these guys again.
Every time I walk in to the store there seems to be problems I had ordered material for a deck they put it on a cart all were twisted and bowed says they picked out so I picked out myself and employee it took about a hour I said I will be back with my truck and trailer then when i came back they had put the picked material back on the shelves and had to be picked again completely a waste of time. There should be someone that knows the computer system after hrs becawhen the pro desk associates leave you cant get any help we all work during the day and then go get supplies after for the following day it dosnt make sense to leave a job to get supplies just to catch someone at the pro desk. Then I go to pay my credit card and I hand $5000 cash to associate he tries to prosses payment and it gets denied the max payment they accept daily is $3000 so I had to run to the bank deposit the rest of the money went back to store and they had to sit on phone with the card company to get them to prosses payment so I didnt get penalized for not paying my promotional balance more wasted time big hassle but if you dont pay the promotional balance they will shure add the interest bunch of bs
Most of the staff are friendly....always went to Home Depot until a short, black haired woman/employee chased me down on my way out of the store yelling that I stole and claimed she did not see me pay for my items. After all eyes were on me she took my receipt and apologized...I shop at Lowe’s now
Tried to return 2 doors that I had bought and admittedly bought the wrong size and a track light. I was told they had damage and were not sellable. One door had been exposed to water after purchase the other had not still refused to return the door and the track light that had obviously not been opened nor exposed to water. Ive spent 5 grand there in the past month. It would of been nice to have at least one door returned and the track light but I guess thats the highest levels of service they can manage to provide. Dont waste your time go to lowes.
We held a contest with my company and the 6 winners were all awarded a weber grill ($699 each). I tried to order the grills on Home Depots website three times before I gave up and ordered from Lowes. The online check out process does not allow for a different billing name and ship to name. If i wanted to list the employee we were shipping the grill to it would decline the credit card because the recipients name was not on our company card. I tried order it myself first, declined. Then I called in the order and that one was declined. Then i found that if i built out the credit card information and saved to to my profile i could enter the billing name... Nope still declined! Ill stick with Lowes from now on, they have their online checkout process built correctly!
Very disappointed. My husband and I ordered a dryer that was smaller in dimensions than our washer. When the delivery men showed up, they insisted it couldnt fit, and refused to haul it to the basement. Any protest regarding the fact that it was in fact smaller than the unit already down there fell on deaf ears (btw, the hot/cold water hoses for the washer were also installed incorrectly). Customer service initially seemed motivated to solve the problem quickly. In fact, one woman promised same day or 1 day delivery. It turned out to be a lie to pacify our concern. We called the following day and they refused to deliver sooner than a week.
Customer service is a complete joke. I walked out after standing in line for 15 minutes to return an item because the lady sat and talked on the phone with a customer about their order already being picked up. There were also 3 other people in line waiting as well, It was absolutely ridiculous, while other employees stood around greeting people... really???

2022-05-11Always a friendly expierence there. We ended up needing some moving boxes and one of the staff lead us right to the location. They had a lot more of a selection then we were looking for at reasonable prices, we ended up spending quite a bit on cardboard boxes but it was worth it. I think we picked the loudest DOLLY in the building though. Some WD40 wouldnt hurt. All in all. A good expierence, will return

2022-05-22If I can give less than 1 star I would, the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced at a store, spend over $600 on over blocks that were paid ahead of time to be ready by 11am the next day stacked on pallets for an easy load with the fork truck just to get to the store for them not to be ready, to top it all off when I got there the employees refused to put them on pallets so I had to individually stack over 540 blocks by hand on the back of my dump trailer , which none of them even bothered to help with, now I understand why I shop at Lowes and that is where I will continue to shop where a customer is treated with customer service

2020-06-26Great customer service and product selection. The store is very clean and organized. They have everything you need to complete your project. Whether youre looking for custom kitchen cabinets or closet organizers, this local hardware store has you covered. Their trained associates can help you find exactly what you need for your project. This location is northeast of the intersection of Route 30 and Miami Avenue in the Hannaford Plaza, between Walmart and Big Lots.

2022-06-28Recently was assisted by an associate in customer support at this Home Depot who helped me get the military discount after the New special barcode was not being read by barcode scanner.

2022-03-28Great place to shop. Can usually get in, find my stuff and get out. If you are in there enough you will know the right people to ask if you do have questions.

2022-03-31You just lost a 500 dollar order because you refused to change a delivery address you do know your competitor Lowes is right down the street and they were more than glad to help me you should be doing everything you can to help your customers not give them a hard time

2021-10-23The customer service at this location is atrocious. They are rude, honestly they seem like they dont want to work. Very unprofessional. The merchandise is treated poorly. Had to return a few items more that once because of the handling of the inventory. I am closing my home depot account and going over to Lowes.

2021-09-03*NEW POLICY STARTING A MONTH AGO* NO ITEM CAN BE RETURNED WITHOUT RECEIPT OR CREDIT CARD- they will not give you store credit unless you paid with a credit card or have a receipt. Margaret said she could switch it for a different one, but it had to be the same exact light🤔 Dawn said absolutely not I don’t know what to tell you I’m the manager. I asked her if I could then switch it for a single light that I need (it was a double lamp outdoor light) she said “no, the policy started a month ago, have a good day” and walked away.
