The Home Depot in other cities:
Please dont come to this homedepot, very bad in customer service only two register are open, no regards for your time in that business. The line is from one end of the store to the other end and not employees know why only two register, so if you have 3 of more hrs to waited in line that is the place for you.
Do NOT order a delivery from this store. I took the day off and they never showed or called to tell me their driver didnt make it. Their rescheduled date was two days later and the crown moulding we ordered came damaged and unusable. They hung up on me twice after waiting for 1h 15m on hold. They then missed their scheduled pick-up delivery to get the ruined product and again I didnt receive a call either. Spent two weeks on calls to customer care, being handed around and no resolution! Horrible experience.
This store is terrible! I ordered two air conditioners and they were scheduled to arrive the next day. They sent me and email the day of stating “missed delivery”. I called the store 12 times and each time they either hung up on me or told me they’ll call back with no reply. Apparently the delivery company did not pick up my order. If this was the case, why was I not able to reschedule or receive proper assistance?Absolutely terrible customer service AND management.Still no response and I’m fighting to speak to an agent. Absolutely terrible. Calling my bank to get a refund.Update: Missed delivery again! For the third time I’m rescheduling my delivery. This is ridiculous. Get it together and find a new delivery company
No clue about customer service, No clue where merchandise is stored if its not on the shelf or display. Employee hiding on his phone then got upset because I need help and told me that wasnt his section. Threw his phone down and stormed off to call someone after I told him about himself. Justl disgusting behavior. I got what I needed and left.
The gateway mall Home Depot is the terrible!! There’s no staff - the customer service is non existent. Be prepared to work things out for yourself!! You spend 30 minutes plus walking around in a circle looking for someone to help you. When you do finally locate an employee they are hesitant to help.
The most poorly run Home Depot I have ever been to ! They are mostly poorly run but this one is the absolute worst one out there , employees are rude , unhelpful and could care less about the customer , management is non existent. Bottom of the barrel store , staff and experience !
I was in the paint section, and I asked the man who was stocking that section for assistance and he never looked at me or the item I was asking or help on and he just said it only comes that size he didnt even know what I was showing him because he didnt have the courtesy to even look at me as I spoke to him. I told him that is not good customer service! I went to speak to manager at customer service desk and they were just as rude as the first person. They said the Manager is probably in a meeting they just assumed he was without even checking! Will never go again, and I will also follow up with corporate.
Workers in the aisles of various departments are not very enthusiastic about helping anyone. Today the girls at the checkout seemed to be better than usual. There is someone at the front of the waiting line directing people to a register or a self-checkout which kept the line moving.
I asked three different associates about in stock inventory for an item I was looking for, that online said there were nineteen in stock, and there were none on the shelves. The associates said whatever was on the shelves was all they had. I ended up ordering the item online, only to see there was in-store pickup that very day. I was already at home when I placed the online order and did not feel like going back out to pick it up, so I picked it up the next day. I say all this to say, some people just dont want to look in the stockroom, or elsewhere, for an item that has an abundance of stock, as per online. I know sometimes the online info is a little off, but NINETEEN, in store.
Waste of time! They used to have so many choices for tile and other finish work, now they barely have basics. And when you search online, you have to specify NOT to show unavailable items. Ill gladly go to specialty tile stores more now than ever before, and online for anything else. I wont waste my time going to home depot again.
I went to buy some boxes and the cashier overcharged me for one extra so I had to go back inside to get a refund from customer service. They refunded my money without a problem. The line moved quickly which was a surprise to me. I will go back to that location it was an alright visit. I would reccomend it.
The only Home Depot Store in the world that charges fees for cutting lumber. The only Home Depot store that has special hours of operation for lumber cutting. The only Home Depot Store where Lumber cutting machine becomes inoperable with a poster Out of Service due to power. And it appears that their machine looses it every other day. Or whenever the associate assigned to it doesnt feel like doing anything lol.
Some one banged the left side of my car and didnt even leave a note, this is the second time this year this has happened to me at Homedepot. This was at the Dekalb location, the other one was at the Copsy location. And at the Millbasin location? Please its almost impossible to get and out of there, they need to widen out that *****+## entrance, especially when have a heavy load of material. Can we get a break?
I was so disappointed in this store when I went there. I was in search of 2 items only! One is clearly shown to be carried by HD on their page. When shown at the Help Desk, a floor person was called to come assist us. We waited and they never showed...My search for single curtain rods seemed foreign to the employees asked? Dont people hang curtains anymore??? Not the fancy rods with balls on the ends, either! Real Curtain Rods that have L bends at the end and attach to the walls! All I needed were the Brackets. Strike 1Next I needed sheet metal screws. I had the one to be replaced and luckily I am fairly handy. I had to hunt through the walls of screws that had been put back (out of place, I might add) and eyeballed the needed size correction without any help. None was given because no one was around to do so!Stores such as this should be hiring constantly if possible because now more than ever people are trying to hold on and repair what little they have. Hire more staff and stock what you report to carry!!!!
The line is always long, down to the garden section, employees seem to not take their job serious and are always having conversations when the line is the length of the store, if you have other things to do, do it before you go to this store because you will wait a long time on the line...
I don’t understand why does Home Depot at Gateway Center make it so difficult for you to spend money on special services. I purchased a door some years ago and it was a terrible experience, i thought that was an isolated incident so when my 79 year old dad said he need blinds i thought we would try them again, he got his windows measured and got a quotation. However when it was time to go in and make final selections it took 4 visits to the store and finally a helpful young man named Sam that didn’t even work in that area, to help us. We were sent on a wild goose chase around the store the first 2 times we went, telling us the only person that could help us isnt in today. How can a company have hundreds of employees and there is only one person that can help 🤷🏿♀️ The 3rd time we were passed around from one attendant to another to no avail. Today we went to the blind section there was 5 employees in conversation i approached them and was told none of them could help and then sent us back to the front of the store to get help. Home Depot please do better customer service is everything.
More personnel response here than I have experienced at other large stores of its kind. When they called for someone to help us, someone actually came, right away. Surprisingly fast service at checkout too. The gentleman who served us was very, very helpful. He even went and got a flat cart for us to be able to wheel our item. Wonderful, kudos!
The checkout is horrible throughout the day, never fully manned with the amount of customers volume, you would think the self checkout machine would be all up and running... I frequent all the time, mangmnt seems to not fix them... or care... Any idea if there is a wall post of who IS the manager??
The WORST Home Depot I ever experienced. No one is ever available for windows. If you want to make a custom order for blinds, good luck! My vertical blinds was shipped to me missing 2 blinds. I’ve been back to this location several times to resolve this and no one is ever available in windows for help. You call on the phone the representative tells I can’t help you. You brought it in the store. Smh. Home Depot gateway needs a new store manager to whip this store into shape. Half the staff doesn’t know where anything is and no where to be found if they are I can’t tell if they are even employees. Smh just a mess this store is not for a person looking for options and help this store is for a person who knows exactly what they want and knows where it is located in the store.
Decent Homedepot. Some staff can be rude and there can be a long wait for products needed in the warehouse or custom order.Garden section is amazing with lots of deals on plants and such. They have a large parking lot and self checkout registers.Over all this Homedepot is ok and can improve on customer service.
Ordered an an Armoire online May 22nd . Received 3 pieces of wood on June 5th at this location. Zero accountability. Emailed store manager. Glad I didnt hold my breath. Shouldve known something was wrong. My package had both a 1 of 2 and a 2 of 2 sticker attached. The person at customer service looked at me like I was crazy and told me that everything was in the 4inch thick box. See pics. Never again. And Curbside Service sucks.
It is usually hard to find someone to help in the big chain home improvement stores but this time we found a very helpful and friendly associate to help us pic out a fireplace. Well its more like he found us because he saw we were struggling make a decision and offered his assistance. I often times have to scan the aisles looking for anyone that would give eye contact and help me out. We ended up buying the fireplace for our living room.
Employees could care less.....Placed an order online yesterday for pickup in store. Got to the customer service pick up desk and there is literally no one there. Approximately 2 feet away from pick up is the returns section. There are 7 customers waiting for pickup and 0 at returns. There are, however, 4 workers at the returns registers just standing around. Two are talking to each other...the other two leaning on the counter looking bored. My friend walks up to one of the bored reps (Holly) and asks if someone can step over to Pickup to assist customers on the growing line. Holly tells him that they are ONLY working in the returns section and says we have to wait for someone in pickup to come back. Thats it. No attempts whatsoever to call anyone on our behalf. Just went back to being bored. I decided to call Home Depot while still in the store to reach a manager. Waited on hold for 10 minutes, at which time a worker finally came over. This woman was visibly irritated at the sight of the line and started helping with one of the worse attitudes Ive seen yet. We were treated as if we were somehow bothering her. WHY OH WHY do you show up for work with such a terrible attitude? Will definitely choose another store next time...or maybe go to Lowes.
A fairly typical HD, some minor variations in product but similar to other stores. Ample parking with large spaces. Outdoor lot is shared with other mall stores but is at the east end of the property, so plenty of room. Store is clean and seems well stocked. Smaller garden center. Not geared toward contractors as strongly as Ft.Hamilton or Cropsey stores but good. Convenient access to Belt Parkway is great if your not driving a truck or commercial vehicle.
When you know the project is bigger than the hardware store, the Home Depot is place to be. From indoor to outdoor, to the garden, appliances, floor covering they got that. Full construction project of all trades to the smallest piece of hardware for a house project they got your back.
Wish the mom and pop stores of yesteryear; was still around. If you know they have what you want your good. Because, only a handful of the works know where things are. (And, thats if you can find the right worker in the store. Its like finding a mythical UNICORN!) Good luck!
This store needs to train there employees on how to provide good customer service skills. I went ro purchase a bathroom sink, mirror and other items I could not find an employee to assist me,when I ask for assistant by the ones I saw they all said that is not my section instead of saying let me find someone to assist you. They workers always have an attitude, never know anything when ask for a item.Today, I walked out of the store, because the 2 employees that was in the isle I needed assistant was too busy being cozy up rather than doing their job.
The workers are helpful and the store is stocked with many items. The lines are long but they move quickly. The 3 stars is due to the phone operators at this store. I called 3 times in a row trying to cancel an order and each time they took my information, told me to hold on, then hanged up. I thought maybe something was wrong with the line, but 3 times in a row doesn’t seem like a coincidence to me.
Staff (From Another Department), were very helpful. And at time I didnt know what I was looking for. Their Staff took out the time to direct me to the place and escorted me their and waited until I was thorough. Thanks Home Depot Staff for making my Concerns YOURS. 🏅🏅🏅🏆🏅🏅👍🙏🧡
Worst place. I went overthere lot of time. Whenever I went overthere to give something back. They always given me store credit. They always show some issue to give back credit back. Most of the worker is lazy. Yesterday I wait 30 min for pro service. I am a pro coustomer. But no one overthere in the counter. Its ridicules.
Im not going to review Home Depot as a brand, just this location. Its a full sized location (something that needs to be qualified when you talk about chains in the five boroughs). I found it well stocked overall. Like any Home Depot, it was sometimes hard to find specific items without help. By Brooklyn/Queens standards, there were enough employees around, but I am constantly surprised that stores in NYC are so understaffed compared to Nassau and Suffolk, despite their heavy use, that it feels weird to praise a place for be adequately staffed. Still, even though we had to bounce between isles a bit, we were eventually able to find everything on our list. They could have had a few more cashiers, but the line wasnt truly terrible. Overall, it seemed to have all the things a Home Depot is actually supposed to have instead of being a weird NYC only version.
Drove from Far Rockaway (paid toll) to rent a carpet cleaner. Got home (toll) to realize there were no attachments. Spoke to rental rep who’s customer service was very nonchalant. He told me “you have to ask for the attachments” Hung up and called the store manager RICH(I think) who passively said the same thing. I did bring bring it back for a refund because the customer service was horrible. They did not offer any guidance or helpful suggestions AND according to the rental specifications the cleaner DOES COME WITH ATTACHMENTS.
Visited the store and nursery very disorganized. Merchandise is not placed on correct shelves. Hard to determined prices due to mislabeling of shelves. Long lines throughout the store. Employees not wearing their masks over both nose and mouth. Some had their mask only covering their chin. Management need to supervise their staff more closely. No one knows where anything is located, took five people to get me the correct location of one item.
They have a very large selection of things to choose from. However I would check with the website to make sure the particular store youre going to have the inventory in stock if u plan on picking it up physically. Other that that, deliver options to store and hone options are available from online. Expect some waiting to cash out as lines tend to be kinda long.
The worst service ever.Been to this location twice. I will never come back. Self service the first time I had one simple question.Had to stand there forever. Workers standing around not my department. If you can find anyone. Second time I made another purchase had one question again I heard them page somebody over the intercom I said forget about this lets go will be standing here all day if it doesnt work well bring it back apparently thats the way they like to run their business. Shop at your own risk. Been to many Homeless depotsThis one is the worst by far...
Once every 3 to 4 months I need to go to the Home Depot for some crafting supplies. Yes I said crafting supplies, dont worry about it. Its easy for me to find the supplies though in this Home Depot and will be definitely going back to get more in the three to four months when I need them LOL
Before walking into the store I checked online to see if they had what I wanted in stock. I, along with the employees learned that there are 4 grills in stock but only saw the display. Because we couldnt find the grill I wanted they gave me a better grill for the price of the grill I was shopping for. Big shout out to Arista for her patients and making things happen.
Worst phone service ever. I was on hold for 12 minutes then they hung up. I called back and was on hold for 44 minutes until I gave up. Trying to find out if my special order arrived. It kept getting delayed without explanation. Shipping company said it should be there, but I can’t confirm with Home Depot.
I made in order to be picked up but as I was waiting, we had a Thanksgiving bird emergency at home so I had to get my order inside. When I went inside, I asked a worker where I could talk to somebody about my online order, he was a little older and looked seasonal but didnt know where the location was. Asking somebody else, I was pointed in the correct direction. The person helping me was so nice and packed my order in less than 10 minutes. I even got a free bottle of hand sanitizer as a gift. I would most definitely come back!
I enjoy visiting the places. Its like a toy land for me. My mind races with ideas and projects to do. Its clean, organized environment. Custom design is very important and works well for that purpose. Workers are continually improving and striving to keep positive during their daily activities. In and out with a smile and think you for shopping.
This is one of the worst home depots, Starrett City. The only reason I went there was because they happen to have an item in stock that wasnt in stock at NY regular home depot, Woodhaven. They have no self check out, and only 3 registers open. The line starts for check out at the other end of the store. 26 minutes in line. Absolutely horrible.
They charge you extra for express delivery within a specific time frame and then deliver your items 2-3 days after the specified delivery date. Also, their delivery drivers don’t call you prior to delivering your items. I ordered 5 items. Went outside to find only 2 and when I checked my email it stated all was delivered. Also, calling this store is a waste of time. They place you on hold and NEVER come back. Shop at your own risk.
Good place to get all your hardware youre working tools were working tools everything I would need to fix anything need to fix anything and to fix houses carpets you name it carpets you name it they got it this store deserves my father this store deserves my 5 star rating because one the customer service was on point the customer service was on point 2 they always served us on time they always serve us on time and 3 they they Greeted every customer with a smile the customer with a smile this place would be the most this place would be the most awesomest place for anyone to call awesomest place for anyone to come to get some hardware stuff or dust or anything of your choosing this is why this this is why this store deserves a 5 star rated
Went to get some lumber and other items which led me to try to check out using the PRO checkout line since the other lines didnt allow you to check out large lumber. Waited on line for 30 minutes then being told that ONLY PROs can check out on that line and now was led to another checkout line. Maybe they should more checkout registers working or a BETTER system set up for large items you cant checkout with self checkout. Plus why should I checkout myself, Im not working there and getting paid ??
For once help was received in these kind of establishments. I was in search for an accessory for Kleer Drain replacement at this Home Depot in the Gateway Mall. Normally, it is hard to get assistance, but not at this one. I asked a worker for help and bam, Ive got it. Its too bad that I didnt ask him for his name. Nevertheless, thanks for you made my visitation joyous that I didnt have to spend time searching for the item.
Worst home depot i have ever been. Very few employees are willing to help. Need to walk around for 30 min to find someone to get help. i saw some employees r spending time at the restroom using phone. People walk around show they r busy but never wants to help someone. They always have long linen they dont have associates in the counter and some of the self service counter doesnt even work.
I have never been disapointed at the home depot.Everytime I have been in any of thier stores, clean friendly, warm sometimes funny workers.I only have 2 issues with Home Depot, one you have to walk a mile to use the bathroom and two whats up with the $900 Xmas trees?Other than that never had a problem.I am a mere motal and can only afford the $35 xmas tree.Just saying. But They still get 5 stars.
It was clean overall.. It had accessible restrooms that was well serviced during peek times. Lines get extremely long wrapping around the store during some weekends but the workers move the lines quickly so dont get tuned off. Shelves well stocked minus the most wanted thing in America right now: lysol. Otherwise great prices, helpful, knowledgeable employees always answer questions without an attitude. There was a great hand wash station that I can tell others appreciate because the paper towels were gone which mean it was being used by customer at the entrance.. I wish there was a second station at the exit. A customer broke a cannister of comet tub cleaner. I didnt realize it was broke so on checkout a handful seeped out and spilled on my hand. I had to run all the way BACK to the entrance to wash my hands. Otherwise it was a great visit. I would make it my go to HD location. Very pleased with my visit.
Dont ever do curbside pickup, youre better off going into the store. You can call all you want but it doesnt matter because youll be out on hold for over an hour and then hung up the first sec you say hi Im here for curbside pick up. Home depot at crospey does it better, there is a person dedicated to handling it. Do better, home depot is a great place.
I came to pick up plants for my garden. The line was already long when I arrived, which was at 9 am the day before the 4th of July. Well, I was there already so, I committed to picking up my items and joined the line. To my surprise, they were moving rather quickly. Social distancing was maintained, the majority of customers were wearing masks. No issues!
My first time at this store today; I went looking for an air conditioner. I asked an emplyee there were could I find an AC. The employee A male employee answer my question as if I was suppose to know that this HD store does not sell acs. Some trainning might be helpful.
I went there to get a stove and fridge for my basement apartment. There really wasnt a big selection of smaller fridges and no same day shipping available. I had to seek out a sales associate to help me even though I was in their view the whole time. I managed to get one and we had to deal with a missing price sticker. I got to the register and the cashier was so unhappy to be working, it was comical.Keep in mind that this is during a pandemic so take this review with a grain of covid-flavored salt.
I like the Home Depot and I spend a lot of time and money there. My biggest complaints are that many of the employees dont know where things are located and instead of telling you that they pretend to know and send you on a wild goose chase.Additionally and especially now with the pandemic every trip to the HD takes what seems like hours and often is.
This location has stocked shelves and usually friendly employees willing to help and assist if asked. Ive been doing a lot of diy projects for the past 2 months, so Ive been purchasing a lot of items. I visited the store about a week ago and was racially profiled by their disheveled, unkempt, uncombed hair, intoxicated looking female security guard. Now I know that they check receipts, thats not my issue.I checked out in front of this woman with the occasional assistance of a male cashier willing to help me also. I watched her watching me and I was also in disbelief that Homedepot would hire such an untidy person for security. While she was busy watching me, two groups of people walked out the store. As I proceeded to leave she approached me for my receipt. I asked her why she didnt check the others and she flashed me off and cussed at me. I proceeded to let her know exactly who tf she was playing with and she ran to the phone to call the police as if I actually cared. The male cashier that had previously helped me stepped up to calm me down and to diffuse the situation. Homedepot youre lucky I didnt sue you for her racially profiling me and yall definitely need to get rid of that lame, coward female security guard. She ran faster than Usain Bolt when I brought the monster out..lmao
Purchased a Samsung stove online back in November 2020, a week later, one of the burners stop working. Now Im stuck with a defected product because Home Depot and Samsung will not fix the problem without it costing me additional money. Should have made the purchase at Lowes instead.
This store is a HUGE mess. I went in on a weekend to pick up an item showing available on the website, but when I got there I had to wait about 30 minutes for someone e to help me. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was told the items were not available. This store is very poorly organized and the Staff feel like they are doing the Customer a favor. I thanked everyone who I spoke to and none of them ever thanked me or even said youre welcome.
I asked the Cashier a simple question, ‘Where does the line End’ , the response was the most unpleasant, unprofessional. This individual has to idea that we are the reason for her job.The line this morning, wrapped around the store. An employee should be on the floor directing the customers to the end of the line.I stand for a while and I observe, I will highly recommend some customer service training.
This stores customer service was the worst I ever experienced. I waited for around an hour for a sales associate to come to the appliance department to take my order for a refrigerator. No came even after an announcement asking someone to go to appliances. Had I thought P.C. Richards been open I would have gone there. There is no excuse for this.
Some of the staff at this location could use more training in customer service. I encountered a rude young girl who did not even know how to deal with a customer. She had a street attitude and was not nice at all. She clearly did not want to help the customer. Also, the workers do NOT seem to know how to find many of the products in the store. Hire people to work in yourr store who actually like their job and who know how to be professional. This location lacks that and this is why I will NOT be shopping here any more!
Some employees are not polite. When you need assistance, they ignore you, pretend they didnt hear, when they respond, they reacted ....looks like they angry. The worst part is ....when you order something online, and you have to pick up the item at the home depot store at Gateway Mall. When called to find out for your item.....the phone will ring and ring and ring, no one answering, its takes a while to get true. Very disappointed. The employees reacted like they dont care.
Went in to the Home Depot trying to buy a tube for a pool filter. The shelves were very disorganized. We looked for 10 minutes and couldn’t find any of the right sizes. We asked 5 different workers that walked through the plumbing aisle and none of them worked in plumbing. One worker was too busy getting a phone number from a thotty. We were there for a total of 45 minutes and not a single worker took the extra step to resolve this. We pulled a Karen and asked for a manager and they wouldn’t tell. EXTREMELY POOR customer service and worst one I’ve been to out of all the Home Depots.
Love the Gateway Home Depot. Not sure what maybe happening with staffing now, but my experience today was less than customer friendly. My dad and I asked for assistance to find a pipe for the sink and the staff said dismissively they dont carry it. Instinctively, I picked up a similar pipe, slightly bigger and showed him that they do carry it, and his nonchalant response was well, we dont carry the smaller size🤔 and yet they have the extension piece for the elbow. Now, all this happened as they were trying to block off the area for restocking, which I suspect was one of the reason that staff failed to provide better customer services. It also sounds like more training needs to happen.
I was looking for some electrical cords so I decided to go to the store instead of ordering online. That was a mistake, as the selection was sorely limited. I will order my items online and have them shipped to the store or delivered to me, whichever is most affordable.

2022-06-26Home Depot at gateway. I gave it 2 star’s because the lines now are ridiculous long. You have to stand in a long line(0ne) so when you reach front of line. Someone asking who want to use self check no cash. Instead of these machine readily available to chose , you have to stand in that long line waisting time. You see an opened cashier you tried to go there, No there is a line to join. It makes it confusing especially if you didn’t see that long line. They should bring it back the way it was before . A line for cashiers and self check.

2022-06-11Ive had fine experiences with this store. Customer service has never really been an issue. There may have been some inconveniences with orders (e.g. wait times; but I try to be understanding b/c it may not be the employees fault and to get angry with them isnt fair- if you dont understand this youve clearly never worked in customer service, but I digress) but nothing I would aggressively complain about (yall need to start accepting apple pay tho!). But really Im leaving this review solely to reflect the experience Ive had with one employee in particular. Home Depot, your associate Bruno is nothing but fantastic. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, Bruno goes above and beyond to help customers. You can really tell that he cares and wants to help, and will exert all his effort to provide phenomenal customer service. He is honestly one of the best associates who has helped me at this store- yall got a good one! Bruno, they better be treating you right!

2022-06-01Absolutely horrendous online order and delivery experience with this location. Paid for express delivery, but my items never came in their designated delivery window. I was provided with no notification that the items would be delayed or when I should expect to receive them.If you try calling the store for any information they will leave you on hold for extended periods before simply disconnecting the call to avoid helping you.

2022-04-11Came to return some tiles that I had left over from a project and pick up another order. Was able to do both transactions at the same time in about 15 minutes. Great customer service!

2022-06-07It can be frustrating shopping here. Usually hate going to home depot unless I know what I need in advance.Theres never anyone available to help. There website always says stuff is in stock but you can never find in the store. They are pretty clean and neat but lines are also super long. And some of there cash register machines are always out of order.

2022-05-28Good luck find assistance and the plants in the garden center should be marked rescue plants thats how horribly they care for them and have you pay full price for the equivalent of a cutting. While the cashier talks on the phone with her personal matters. A smile or a kind word must be against policy.
