Ted is the man!I went to Home Depot to pick up a replacement toilet bowl for my fathers house so that I could install it before he was discharged from the hospital. This install was time sensitive because it was for his master bathroom which would make his life much easier after being discharged I am currently on military leave and wanted to complete the project within the minimal about of time I had between trips to the hospital and prepping everything else for his return home. I went into the store earlier in the day to look at the stock and confirmed with customer service that the toilet that I wanted to purchase was in stock. I went back to the house to take some measurements to ensure that it would fit. After returning to Home Depot I had trouble locating the toilet and was a little confused because customer service said they had 14 in stock.After trying to get help from two other employees (one of which just walked away without returning) I was just about to walk out of the store and order what I needed online. Ted went above and beyond my expectations by helping me find everything I needed for a the install (including the toilet which was on the top shelf). He provided quality customer service, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely an experience you cannot get from ordering online.
Harry from the paint department is a phenomenal employee. He was of great help to me today as I was trying to find a wood stain for my fence. I’d like to thank him for his patience and great customer service.Thanks again Harry for going out of your way to create my paint sample!
I dont usually write reviews, especially good ones, but I had to give Kudos to Julian in the CI store. I had stopped in to talk about concerns I had with items I purchased. He didnt have all the answers at that time, as his manager wasnt there. I said I would return when his manager was there. He is so conscientious that after I left, he took my concerns to heart and went out of his way to get answers for me. He then followed up with me by phone. EXCELLENT customer service!!!!! Thank You to Julian and Service Dept!
Was told by manager to order outdoor furniture online. That it will be great, no problem, never had a complaint. I placed an order, CA96169053. I got half the order 3 days after when they said they would deliver and the other half NEVER came. When I called I was told to wait another week and hung up on. Then my online order was changed to delivered. Now I am getting bounced around and hung up on for 2 chairs and still missing 2 chairs and cushions. I would give 0 stars if I could. Never order online from home depot.
Staff was very rude in the lumber dept. Was trying to choose deck boards that were usable (most were cracked and gouged) while being awkwardly stared at by 3 employees. Here i am flat on my stomach crawling to the back to try & get 2 decent pieces of wood with my wife while they couldnt wait for us to leave. It would have been nice if they offered to help or at least walk away & come back. I think Ill try Lowes next time.
If I could give less than one star I would. I went into Home Depot on Saturday November 21,2020.I went to order a washing machine and dryer. The guy in the department was unbelievably rude. He said what do you need. I told him I wanted to order a washer and dryer. He threw his hands up and said I have to go to the bathroom I have been here since nine am.And walked away. I went to the customer service department to tell someone who could care less how rude he was. I will never go back there again.
My mom ordered a fireplace from the Home Depot website which arrived in 2 packages. 1 magically went missing apparently. They insisted it was only 1 box at the store, not 2. We got home, started putting it together and what a surprise, theres a box missing! At the store they didnt want to take responsibility. They called the company who said box boxes were delivered and they couldnt do anything about it if the store didnt have it because they didnt have it in stock. So now they have to call the vendor to see if theres anything they can do. At the end of the day 90lbs later carrying it back to the store for a refund. Horrible experience! I think someone at the store is stealing because others were complaining that their boxes were missing.
Staff is clueless about what they carry. I walked in looking for a fan, a box fan, a pedestal fan- they had absolutely no idea what that was. Then they sent me to wonder around for 20 minutes looking for something they had no idea they didn’t have but their website says they have 40+ in stock.Give me a break. The ineptitude is real.
We got helped by a employee called DALLAS in the Central Islip Branch. He was great and went out of his way to walk us through what to get to make a shelf. I hope his bosses see this and appreciate him as an employee. My friend and I had a great experience there and would recommend going to that branch.
I needed to replace the handle on the kitchen faucet and after an exhausting search I couldnt find the replacement that I needed also inventory was not that great & the universal type would not work I tried on 2 occasion and had to return them so on the third time I went to seek help and when I asked one of your people I was told to match it up &I told the person that I couldnt find it so he told me to wait. I dont know what he was doing but I waited about 10 minutes he never showed up so I left needles to say I was disappointed
The people who work there are an embarrassment I asked them for antifreeze and they said I had to order online meanwhile I checked on the app and it said that they had 636 available meanwhile the people there told me to order online and the antifreeze is in the front by the checkout and I don’t even work there and I found it you guys need to hire new people what type of business is that how is Home Depot going to sell like that
The Home Depot is awesome. Love all their locations and everyone is always so helpful. Its as if Home Depot hires retired contractors, electricians, plumbers, and all sorts of former construction workers who were very knowledgeable in their fields. Everyone always knows what theyre talking about when I asked them questions.
Worst experience I have ever had in a Home Depot. One particular employee was extremely rude and hostile. He took my cart without asking me if I was using it or done with it and then when I took it back from him, he asked me if I wanted to fight for it. There were several customers who witnessed the entire event. Dont bother to reply or ask me for any additional information.
At a very obvious 6 months pregnant, not even one of the four women working at customer service offered to help me load approximately 50 boxes into my car, and I was the only person in line. They were more concerned with calling lumber to come remove some wood that was cluttering up their area. After filing a complaint, I was contacted by another helpful employee of this store. She had the nerve to ask me if I asked for help! I told her I shouldnt have had to ask for help and she then said I should have come back in and asked for help. Right, like Im going to push that very heavy and awkward cart filled with boxes BACK into the store to ask for the help I should have been offered in the first place. She then says Im very sorry you feel that way. I do not care for your passive-aggressive apology! Why even bother someone if all youre going to offer is a passive-aggressive apology?!?! It means nothing! All she did was upset me more- talk about adding insult to injury! As far as this store goes- keep your passive-aggressive apologies, Ill take my business elsewhere.
Almost everytime i go into this store im stuck dealing with employees who dont want to be there and incompetent management. Nobody knows where anything is and thell send you to the wrong isle just to get away from you. The only person that we found that was worth was the woman working the only register they had an actual person at and I truly feel bad for her having to do damage control for such a circus. If theyre trying to push everyone away from actually coming into the store to buy things, its going to work, but after this ill go anywhere but this store. From now on if i cant get it on Amazon ill try Lowes or Ace.
Great friendly staff that is always glad to lend some assistance. Place is well maintained theres no tools scattered around so its easy to locate what you need at a great price. Its also not to busy so shopping is quick especially if you know what youre going in to get.
Don’t know why I bother shopping here. You can never find anyone when you really need them. Most of the workers don’t have clue on anything you ask them. Never anyone around to drive the forklift. The worst part is THEY NEVER HAVE ANYTHING IN STOCK!!! How can you expect to keep customers if you always tell us “we don’t have it but Bay Shore or Commack does”. Then why don’t I just shop there? Don’t bother trying to use the app because the stock it shows is off. It will say 65 of something and you get there and they cant find it or they out of it. Plumbing and electrical is the worst they never have what you need. Only good thing is they got a real plumber that works during the day and this guy is legit.
They wont price match THEIR OWN website! I wanted 6 outdoor chairs. Online price is $15 a piece in store is $20. I showed them the online price and they said they wont match it! Even though I could of just stood there ordered online and did store pick up from there for free at $15 a chair... Seriously? Well off to LOWES!
Terrible phone customer service. I called the Central Islip store to find out if they had a lawn mower in stock and the person on the phone wouldn’t let me explain what I wanted and kept interrupting me rudely. Went to another location anyway because I didn’t want to deal with that kind of service when making such a large purchase.
Typical home depot. Only problemis the Sales people on thefloor dont know what theyre talking about and will steer you towards More Expensive products. Big Thumbs Down for me. Was gonna give a 2 star rating but then thought- Im going here bc i know what i want. Dont rely on their help
Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Ordered something online. They sent me an email to come in and pick up. Went there and they didnt have it. Charged me for it anyway. Later on, argued with me on the phone about the charge. Very rude. Still waiting for the credit. I HATE this store. Go to Coram. They dont screw things up like this and arent rude. FOLLOW-UP: It is now a month later and no credit. In fact, I even filed a dispute on my credit card and this store rejected it. So Im off to the post office today to mail NYS Consumer Affairs and The Home Depot Executive Offices my complaint. I recently just moved to the area my first experience at his location would be my last unfortunately customer service is very important in the store but they were very rude and short tempered. I reported the behaviors to the store manager hopefully others wont have to go threw what I did. No way to show customer satisfaction what so ever.
I started going to Lowes because Home Depot in the past customer service was horrible. I needed paint and decided to give home depot another shot because it is closer to my house. What a mistake, nothing has changed. There were plenty of employees around and about and not one asked if I needed help as I stood at the counter for 10 minutes.
Was in the process of redoing our deck and ran out of DeckOver paint. Ran To the Central Islip location at 9:55 PM (they close at 10!!)Kevin in the paint department was awesome!whipped me up an additional batch plus some (total of 6 gallons-this stuff goes on like paste, we went through 2 gallons just cutting the edges!)He called up front so the cashier didnt leave (thank you!!) And got us on our way in no time-Hey Home Depot administrators-Kevin, the young man in paint is an asset to your company!!
I tried to buy 50 pieces of step flashing so I counted 50 pieces quickly in the isle. When I got to checkout I told the lady I had 50 peices. She immediately called me out and said she would have to count them because it doesnt look like 50 pieces. She then took each piece and scanned it and stopped when she counted to 50 with 1 piece left. As I left the store I looked at the receipt and it said I had 48 peices. She called me out for counting wrong and she counted wrong!Im giving this 2 stars because of how I was treated and his long it took. Lowes never does this to me.
Kitchen project, worked with Jon from Home Depot kitchen design.. I can not say enough good things about Jon and the group at kitchen design. I went with kraftmaid cabinets, working with Jon and his ideas has made this process seamless. My advise would be, give home depot central islip a shot. Its a big decision to remodel a kitchen, plus the cost. Kraftmaid/homedepot have a lot of options to help meet a budget.Mike kleinman

2022-06-06Stopped in to buy a Ring Doorbell yesterday morning. I spent time researching them and knew exactly the one I wanted. I saw they had them at this location in aisle 6 at bay 20. I grabbed the sheet of paper to show the cashier, as they keep them locked up so people dont steal them.It took them a minute to open the cage and when they did, a male front end supervisor comes up to me with two of them. Hi sweetie, he said. Which one did you want, this one or the Three? I just looked at him and said, The $100 one.Now why would he, first, call me sweetie? No. Dont be misogynistic at me. Second, dont be condescending assuming that since Im a woman I dont know how to research products, and read signs and pieces of paper to discern and choose the correct item I want.Definitely not thrilled about that encounter.

2022-05-18I like this Home Depot better than many of the other nearby stores. I find this location to be clean, friendly and pretty well stocked. One of the sales associates (I wish I had gotten his name) really went the extra mile to help locate some electrical parts I needed. It wasnt even his department.

2022-04-24Mulch for the garden was on sale. Two nice, helpful gentlemen helped me locate the brown mulch and put it in my car. I was impressed with all their kindness and true helpfulness. Good jobs guys!!

2021-12-14Yes I went approximately that time diagnostics in receiving a pass code locking mechanism because someone stole my entry apartment domain establishment keys. It was reported towards Property Manager and Super all towards not handling her responsibilities of allegiance under Property Law principles. In such cases under her assigned duties of responsibilities should be done immediately taking into the consideration entry concerns of lost entry keys and the safety reasons associated with her responsibilities under law. Oftentimes these request are taken as a Joke but Im proficient in lawful practices and procedural arrangements that grant such amenities without assigned representative cost especially when you have a over payment surplus in rent subsidies granting such forebears towards those suggested granted rightful allegiances towards the paradigms parameters of such privileges under her responsibilities. I found two individuals that helped select a good pass code for my entry apartment so as recommended Super suggested as a good place establishment for buyership of great choice business establishment. I went towards service desk at establishment and asked if possible could I purchase with money cash tender and was told by another representative it is of no usefulness at this establishment. Of course this is another means of falsified information towards assigned duty responsibilities taking into consideration being a former Manager which assigned me various avenues of such privileges within retail establishments under my authoritative control granted responsibilities. My Star is reflective of helper degrees of customer assistance and another establishment where I use bathroom amenities. But the prevalence of not being consistent with offering assistance which we realize is a definite assigned responsibility towards exchange tender in granted measures of payment request allegiance of buyership that customers can offer establishment is certainly under laws stipulating such ramifications of payment measures assigned patrons customers assurance towards legitimate currency exchange at establishments.
