Not all but most of the employees don’t know where anything is at, they make you feel like you’re asking for something in the wrong store with their reactions of “I don’t know where that is” …. Common guys just be more social and helpful i won’t bite.Just check it on your devices and learn your way around the store.
Found a really awesome statue in the Halloween display, but it did not have a price tag or bar code on it. Brought it up to the cashier to ask about a price and the cashier was stumped. The cashier reached out to the next higher up, and then to a manager. After waiting for a little bit, the head cashier came back and handed us the statue!! Oh my goodness. Stuff like this just doesnt happen anymore. And even though he had a mask on, you could see the smile on his face. Home Depot in Farmingdale... WOW, that is awesome customer service and I cannot say how much you surprised me!!! Thank you so much and you can bet you earned my business!!
Saw the ab-1200 Newair fridge on their website for 219. They had a damaged one for 300 dollars.I asked them to price match… they were like we don’t price match our own website! It’s for that exact store!!I was like Home Depot customer service is horrible compared to back when I worked here.They called the manager the manager Michelle did not approve. So sad but laughable. Companies this will be eaten up by their competitors and Amazon due to trash customer service and pricing.Thanks Michelle!
Went into home depot to look at dishwashers did not buy though it is ok but we are not sure what model we want to buy yet just looking. Sales man asked us few questions about what we are looking for and how soon we want 1 and spoke about installing the machine and asked about our connection weather it is hard wired or a plug in we could not answer that question since we dont know . If hardwired they cant install would need to get someone to install. We are going to have to think about it further on who get a dishwasher from and then go out again to look etc.
I bought 10 shelf brackets here and paid in cash. I lost the receipt thinking I would not need it however I ended up using only six brackets and came back to this Home Depot to return four. Since I lost the receipt I agreed to have exchange and bought more stuff, however this Home Depot simply did not give me any store credit or did the return. I do not like their return or exchange policy. The brackets are brand new and not even opened or installed. The Home Depot customer service showed no care to fix this issue for me. This is pathetic in today’s world of competition retailers should be thankful that they are still having business. People have so many other options nowadays to go to. Not coming back to this one!
Update: Male managers would bend over backwards, if anything better than ever. The give new meaning to customer service. Love ya guys!!Old review: Best ever. Treated me like gold. My wife purchased a refrigerator with the haul away included which came out to a little under 2k. They delivered the refrigerator today but did not take the old refrigerator making a bunch of excuses. This is not acceptable. The reason we purchased this from Home Depot was because of the haul away that was available. If i had known that this would happen i would have purchased from lowes instead. I called them and was told to call back monday. I am going to have to escalate this as high as i can. They use subcontractors rather than their own employess for this. Those people are very lazy and didnt want to do what we had paid for them to do. This is what happens when a store subcontracts part of the job to outside vendors.
Always an issue when receiving a delivery. Delivery company is an honoring what customers are paying for at the store. Delivery company showes up with a completely different receipt (Not from the home Depot). I was forced to find my receipt speak to 2 different managers and at the end of the day they left my $1,100 washing machine in the entrance of my garage no installation. The Home Depot could care less after youve paid for your item and left the store they dont concern themselves with the delivery. Also the associates at the store make zero eye contact Ive had to leave the store severalon occationss after not getting proper customer service. Word of advice dont bother with the home Depot at Farmingdale
Horrible experience with plant department manager Keisha. Home Depot definitely should look into retraining this employee on customer service and the use of language and behavior at work . I left without shopping at this store because of her obnoxious behavior and choice of words. It’s a shame that Home Depot has these type of rude employees representing the company.
Just wanted to let you know how great Scott in the windows and door department is .We needed to order a new kitchen sliding door and window, we wanted black on black windows and door , not easy to order. We went in 2xs , of course it was always at the time his shift was ending ( he never said that but we just knew ) . He sat with us both times trying to figure out how we could get just what we wanted. First time we got an estimate for thousands. He said to wait a bit to see if a sale should happen. He said he would call , and surely he did , but to tell us no sale happened that week , we have a gutted kitchen and we know windows are out at least 6 weeks. Anyway we went back to try to order some thing different because $6,000 was totally not in our budget. We sat with Scott again he found black on black Anderson windows and door 🥰. We ordered it and are so happy. Scott went out of his way , stayed a little later and took the time to show us and explain the door and window He made our ordering and explained the type of window and door .He really is a nice , hard worker, and has great customer serviceThank you Scott for all you did , we will be back when we do our other 25 windowsThanks so much

Horrible !!!! The absolute bottom of the barrel service and product. Horrible store and customer service. Order 2 draw microwaves for my home. First one arrived broken and they made me return it and lay out money for a new one over phone. Ordered it and was told I could pick up next day at Farmingdale that they had 55 in stock. Went next day to pick up and they said the woman on phone messed up and ordered it as a delivery and won’t get for 2-3 weeks and they don’t have any in stock. So now I have laid $2700 and have to wait for refunds and have to lay out another $1300 for another microwave. I paid my contractor for a full day For install and no product because of home has all incompetent staff. Go to Lowe’s. Way better service and people actually know what they are doing. Home Depot is nothing but the old “ Sorry , we apologize “ BS.
I ordered 30 bags of top soil. Each bag weighed 40 pounds. There were 2 associates in particular that were extremely helpful. I chose in-store pick up because I didn’t want to pay the $79 delivery charge and was in way over my head. These associates loaded my SUV up perfectly and refused to take tips. I didn’t get the gentleman’s name but I believe the other associate’s name was Connie (or Maggie). She stated there was probably someone who needed the money more than her such as a homeless person or a veteran. She asked me to donate the money to a church instead. That really warmed my heart. I commend Home Depot for hiring people with kind helpful souls.
No matter what, youre gonna need a home depot. Local hardware stores are great, but sometimes dont have the stuff that home depot has. This one is always clean and freindly, staff always willing to help and answer questions. Curbside pick up available but you can go inside too.
Found what I was looking for fast and easy. The farmingdale location is pretty big. Everything is easily laid out and really not that difficult to find things.The staff on the other hand, not so helpful when looking for things. Quick to tell you its in a lane you probably searched for 20 minutes and then tell you (without looking either) out of stock.Checkout is pretty easy too. Unfortunately though, veterans like myself do not get a discount year round, some employees at check out will do it but some wont. Lowes on the other hand hasnt given me a problem when Ive used it.
My favorite home depot. People like Robert and Eric (long haired), among many other great folks here, really makes each visit here a treat especially when I have questions and need guidance on anything. This is one of the few home depots where the staff does not run in the opposite direction when they see customers and are actually willing to help instead of avoiding them. Always excellent customer service. Keep up the great work.
When asked for assistance finding the dusk to dawn outside bulbs , The rude gentleman from electrical stated “ we don’t carry that , your on your own “ and walked away from me - not to mention waiting more then 20 minutes to find someone to even help with my inquiry : unacceptable Home Depot of Farmingdale , do better !I should’ve stuck to what I know and went to Home Depot of Copaigue where you get better and friendlier assistance in a timely manner.
My husband and I went to this store location today. We are long time Home Depot customers and have had a card for many years. We took a 10% off coupon with us which should have been good until the end of the month. For some reason the coupon was saying that it had already been used. We asked to see if the manager could still honor it. He sent back an employee to say no. We then went to customer service and asked for the same manager TONY. To please come to customer service so that we could speak to him. We waited for 15 min. And was told he was on his way. After another 15 min. He had an employee come to tell us he was in a meeting!!! This is NOT the customer service we have been used to from Home Depot!! We will take our business elsewhere from now on!! The store manager should really take a better look at what his other managers are doing!!! Shame on TONY
Ive been coming to this Home Depot for 3 years now and the service has been consistently outstanding. The every staff member in each department is courteous and knowledgeable and always goes out of their way to help you. You never hear not my department as you do in other Home Depots. Ive never walked out without the product I came in looking for. This Home Depot is above and beyond what one expects from a home improvement store. Its worth the trip to go there.
This location has a nice layout. Staff are not particularly eager to offer assistance like most Home Depot locations. I would have rated higher if I hadnt needed to return a broken shower curtain rod. Advice to management would be to have certain procedures in place to ensure products placed on the shelf are not defective/broken.
Ninety percent of the time this place has whatever I need and their return policy is quick and painless. Bought led bulbs for a ceiling fan but of course in had an incompatible dimmer which caused strobe effect. Returned them twice for different brands hoping for a different outcome. Did not happen.
Once again I drive past Home Depot with tons of lines to get in the store. The drive right to Lowes a half a mile away to no lines and make my purchases there. 2019 I spent $75,000 at Home Depot. Now I just drive past Home Depot and go to Lowes in the last 2 months Ive spent $4,000 at Lowes. Home Depot should really reevaluate their BS policy about letting clients in the store
Zero stars. If your main concern is social distancing than why isnt all hands on deck at register to move people out of your store. One line with the two slowest cashiers checking people out. You have 6 self service checkouts in garden area and zero were open. Please explain this to me?????
So they are not giving a contractor discount for over 10,000 worth of stuff anymore. Bc of pandemic they dont ship in between stores, so I dont meet the minimum and I had to separately shop at 3 different locations. Very disappointed. It took multiple trips bc of misinformation on be half of the people you call Pros. Your Pros arent really knowledgeable. Your managers are too busy keeping the lines to register socially distant. Everybody pushes responsibility. Nobody is willing to complete a job. My contractors come for morning pick ups and orders arent pulled. I have to go to Setauket store to pick up tiles that were partially in stock when we paid for all stock. Now we are waiting for a refund and we travelled to another store that couldnt find that order either when I got there. What a mess!
Ordered an electric fireplace for my brother in law and sister in law. It was ready for pickup the same day. One of the employees saw us struggling to figure out how to get it home. He came over to us in the parking lot and got right on it with a solution. The fireplace was reasonably priced and exactly what I wanted to buy.
Big shout out to Blake he help me through big time. I was such in a misery looking for a drill that didnt want to break the bank and he found a great and affordable drill. Then I need some custom help and he introduce me to Phil and Scott these guy really know a lot about repairs and what to use. I am very happy with my experience today. They were all true gentleman thank you Home Depot.
I do not know how anyone shops in this store . Always dirty and never anyone to help. Latest example is I wanted to buy window shades that had to be cut. The sign on the display said cut to order. Once, we chose the sizes we needed, my husband went looking for someone to cut the shades. It took about 10 mins. When the salesperson came to help, he told us that they didnt have a machine to cut the shade. We left a cart of 20 shades . They are a very poorly run company. They cater to the builder/handiperson who doesnt need help. They are not there for the average consumer.
I went looking specifically for some pop up canopies. I took a very long time for me to even locate where they were. At first I didnt think they carried them. I looked around for someone to help me, but the employees I saw were stocking shelves ad do engrossed in their own conversation that they either didnt see or hear me or they were ignoring me. I tried to answer my own questions and continued to look around. I was in the store for a good half hour and not one person was available to offer any assistance. I left empty-handed and feeling a bit neglected. Its not very likely that I will buy my outdoor furnishings at Home Depot.
Jared in the garden center was extremely helpful! Not only was he a gentleman, but very personable as well! Right away he offered to help us to our car since we had many heavy bags of top soil and seed. He also, engaged in conversation with my son, which was so nice because my son tends to be shy. It’s nice to see a young man with such a good head on his shoulders!
I am using this store for many years. Well stocked aisles , nice and clean store.Staff is very nice and always ready to help you.Some time they take extra time to explain to you, if you dont know how to do the work.Staff is very knowledgeable .But staff at the equipment center is not helpful , some time they behave like bully.Last time i rented the truck and bought lot of building material stuff, home depot employee who helped me for the all material told me that when i load all the stuff you can go back to rental office and tell them to reset the clock, so i dont have to pay for the extra hour.I went there and told them to that, and guy behind the counter told me that he reset the clock. When i came back to them to return truck they charged me for the whole time because in their computer it showing me the original rented time, i try to explain but they dont want listen and their supervisor dont remember the name also very rude, in the end i paid the whole rental time.Will never go back to this location for rent. Rental staff at the new york ave in Huntington is very nice and accommodating.Went again to buy paint, at the counter Steive greeted me with a smile helped me to choose the right paint.awesome service by him.
Every Home Depot Ive gone to is the same, has everything but its hard to find a lot of stuff. you can walk around for a while looking. and 75% of the time its hard to find someone to help you and when you do its been my experience that they belong to a different department than where what you are looking for is located.
I like Lowes much better. The people here never know where anything is, or if they even have what I ask about. I find it on my own... Their flowers are terrible compared to Lowes. Christmas trees too. They have some lumber and drills and that stuff but it pales in comparison to Lowes.And for the most part, its more expensive.
After shopping Home Depots I have found this store to be the very best in New York. The night and daytime manages to go out of their way to help and solve any problem you may have. Unlike the stores, such as in Levittown, where i will never shop in again because of their lack of empathy and laziness in my opinion, the Plaza store is my dream store for 2018. Thank you night and day managers and your hard working crew. I will never stray from you again.
I was so impressed by the level of customer service displayed by the Pro Service desk at this location! They were EXTREMELY friendly and attentive, and even gave me coffee and water while helping me out. 5 star service! It really went a long way and gave me a great experience here!
Not shopping here any more when it comes to ordering items for a home project. I dont mind waiting for something but for it to come in dammaged Everytime? Even had things, windows, delivered to my house. One out of three were dammaged. Delivery guys were assess too! Rude and they were throwing other deliveries all over inside their truck because they were upset that my stuff was buried by other peoples stuff. Not my fault. I didnt load the truck boys! Going back to Lowes.
Ive been walking around for an hour and a half. Youd think at least one associate would ask if I needed any help. Im only here killing time. But it would be nice to see some customer service. There is no shortage of staff. They are just all in there little groups chatting with each other. And when someone walks by they put their head down or look the opposite way to pretend they didnt see you. Home Depot isnt the only game in town. Just sayin
Store opened promptly @ 8am & I was greeted w/ a smile as I walked thru the doors & entered the store in Farmingdale, NY .. After making my product selection I progressed to the cash register & the back end of my visit was equally as pleasant as an agent was there to promptly check me out w/ my goods .. Great experience all the way around!!! .. 😁
I purchased a Mitsubishi Hyper heat Mini Split system from home depot in May 2018. I did so even though they had the highest (price) of the installation estimates of any of the contractors I got estimates from. I did so because I trusted the Home Depot name. I felt safe knowing that if anything went wrong I could rely on Home Depot to take care of it. I paid nearly $13000 to have the 3 unit 33000 BTU system installed. Because this Pennsylvania house is a seasonal home, I wanted the ability to control the temperatures winter and summer remotely. To accomplish this I paid an additional nearly $400 to have the Kumo cloud (app) set up. The sub contractor who in installed the system was Holbrook Heating Syracuse NY. The installer knew absolutely nothing about setting up Kumo and had to look on You tube. He eventually got it to work but since then service has been sporadic and mostly non functional. More upsetting was the fact that the sales rep who Holbrook dispatched to sell us the Mini ($13000) system (on behalf of Home Depot) told us we would have a three year Warranty for labor from Home Depot (through Holbrook) and 10 years parts from Mitsubishi. NEVER was it mentioned that we would have to pay nearly $200.00 PER YEAR to have a service rep some out and clean ? the unit. We only found this out when a rep from Holbrook called recently to say we want to come out and service your unit. I asked what cleaning entailed because we were only told by the sales rep that we had to clean the filters periodically. She said no we have to clean leaves out of the outdoor unit and check indoor units. Make sense to you??Over all I would advise anyone interested in buying a mini split system to get pricing and as much as I have always loved doing business with Home Depot, I would not recommend them given that I have called them to express my complaint and never heard back. The Bottom line to add insult to injury is that Mitsubishi unit materials cost was $5076.00 and so the labor came to nearly $8000 for a 1.5 day installation which should have been one day because installers did not have a part and spent half a day driving back and forth to get the part they didnt have.A Very Disappointed Customer .. Shame on You Home Depot !!!!!My advice Mini Splits are great.. But dont buy from Home Depot.PS> I checked Holbrooks record with Better Business. They have a lot of complaints. Be warned
I wish i knew the elderly man who helped me in the tool department . I was looking for a counter sinker but wasnt sure what size i needed & he went out of his way to find someone else that knew more about it & came back & explained the right one i would need to buy. Just want to say again thank you.
Its an OK place to get some tools. But had bad experience this one day. Went with landlord to the HD in Copiague to help get some replacement tiles. They didnt have it and they looked on their database to see if other Home Depots had it. They pointed it to the one in Airport Plaza. So we went there. We found out that they also didnt have it anymore. So, the employees did the same search on their database. The only difference was that this employee called the other stores to find out if they had the tiles. After two or three calls, they found a HD that had the specific tiles we wanted.
I read some of the negative reviews on here. I suggest you go to the Freeport Home Depot first and then go the Farmingdale location. It is night and day. Farmingdale is more orderly, cleaner and the people are more helpful. Im not sure if the stores are individually owned and managed or how Home Depot Structures their business but they are doing it right in Farmingdale. Im a 5 min ride to Freeport location and 20 min ride to Farmingdale location. Ill take the ride!!!! The Freeport Home Depot is a dump heap with horrible employees in my opinion.
Only one experience, the day before the 4th of July. Ordered two types of flooring, approximately 1000 sq ft total, and arranged for contractor to pick up at store. Products were palletized and shrink wrapped and staged at the house, but the order was incorrect. Contractor should have checked at pickup but didnt. Tried to call the store but on hold for nearly 45 minutes. Sales Associate said he would check the floor stock to see if they could make it right, then disconnected me. Again on hold for 45 minutes, another sales associate said he would check and call back. After 45 minutes called again and told no they did not have sufficient stock to make it right, and explained they did not do interstore material exchanges; I would have to return the wrong flooring to the store for a refund, and was on my own re: additional stock and matching dye lots. Very poor customer service IMHO. Contractor bailed on me due to delay, and now I have a house full of flooring boxes of wrong flooring material and no contractor. Very disappointed!
Home Depot is an outstanding home repair supply store. One change to move it into the 5* rating would to be adding electronic inventory locaters in the store. Many times it is easier to go to my local Hardware store where I am greeted an escorted to what I want. Home Depot would greatly improve their CX with electronic merchandise locater systems in their stores.
Just wasted 30 minutes of my time waiting on hold for the Door and Mill dept.Someone picked up only to IMMEDIATELY put me back on hold. They claimed they were going to page one of the two depts, but I didnt feel like dying of old age on hold.I wouldnt go to this particular Home Depot. Id rather cut my own tree down and build everything from scratch than trust these people with another second of my time.Going with Lowes. Someone answered the phone in mere seconds.
I was at Home Depot on airport road and looking for shower material and faucets etc. after spending so many hours to getter the tools and some other stuff I felt so exausted . Then sales person came to me his name Ted he asked me if I do need help . What else do I need at that point without any second thought I said yes . He is so knowledgable and have good customer experience . There some other customer had inquiry you wont believe he delt with everyone in very profession way. Which is really hard to see in big stores . Even though you ask associate do you know where that item answer would be its not my area/department . If am not wrong.I would say Ted is a big asset to his employer . I would recommend that you should go there to get a good customer service . Cheers
It was a very cold search as I was looking for indoor flower pots options which is now placed outside of the building. Workers were nice & willing to assist when asked, but unfortunately there werent many choices available that I liked at this location for what I needed.
I was shopping at the Copiague locations n today looking for specific window screens. I finally found two, but they had tears in them. An associate helped me find that there were 12 in stock over at this Farmingdale location so I called over and was helped by a very helpful associate who set aside 2 of them for me. I drove over, went to the Windows/Doors. Section and he had them waiting for me. Thanks so much for your help!
Brought in a broken Milwaukee tape measure that carried a life warranty. Ladies at customer service said that I had to go through Milwaukee c/s to replace it. Asked for store manager, a guy named Julio claiming to be the manager backed up his customer service reps. I went later to Levittown front desk c/s and they replaced it immediately. Poor management on the part of Home Depot for not backing up the products that they sell.

2022-06-07We have a childrens swing set that is 8 years old and in need of repair...some boards are seriously deteriorating and have to be replaced. My husband just cant seem to get to this project so I hit Home Depot with a list of decking measurements we need, no idea what Im talking about, and a smile. I headed down the lumber aisle yesterday morning expecting to be brushed off when I asked an associate for help, but was thrilled to find Oliver, an amazing, helpful, friendly and funny employee who walked me through the options and stood patiently as I called my husband twice to get more information. I even put my husband on speaker phone and Oliver listened patiently. I thought Id be in the store for at least an hour, but Oliver got me what I needed in less than a half hour. I needed two cuts, which Oliver took care of expertly. There are good people willing to help at this location!!!

2022-03-05There is a lady at the self-service checkout forbidding people from checking out on their own and taking 30 minutes to ring up a single customer.Please send her back to non-self service checkout if she wants to be a cashier and let us get on with our lives. I had to head over to Lowes instead since they dont have such harsh gatekeeping when it comes to me opening my wallet, and this lady was acting like some kind of state police.

2022-05-08I called in the second time since i didn’t like how the staff wasn’t able to help me but this time i called i got transferred to a really nice lady named Greg who helped me find the products i was looking for in amazing detail and enthusiasm.Her knowledge and skills really made me hopeful and happy.Because of Gregs help from lighting i was able to place orders of recess lights for my living room!!!!!!

2021-04-23HD is great. I have a HUGE problem with the BEHR Primer and Paint I bought from them. The paint peeled right off my doors. Behr offered a very small settlement, compared to the actual cost of the repainting. Hopefully HD can step up and do the right thing.

2022-01-07Extremely poor service, order an item online that was obviously in stock. I was called to be informed that this is a store display, if I wanted it. I asked can you find out if there will be a lower price, I was placed on hold for 26 minutes, no one returned to the phone.I called the store today, I received an email informing me that the item was cancelled, I spoke to a manager - Michelle, she informed me that they donot sell the store display, it is the 1 on hand.How is the customer responsible for the store’s inaccurate inventory? How did Michelle tried to assist me, come to the store to see the other options.I am the spending consumer, my funds, I selected the product I already wanted, your store handled my transactions poorly.Just to say, your store has 100 customers ordering this item that cost $750 all will not be able to get the item because your store’s floor model is part of your inventory.21 years I retail, a District Manager - this is extremely poor service to your consumers and unapologetic team.

2022-02-17Cleaned and organized but very limited selection of tile. Impossible to do a bathroom when they only have 2-3 cases of tile when needing at least 100 SQ feet. Limited tile selection. I swear they used to have a much larger variety years ago.

2022-03-15Usually order to pick up, this time I went to the store and they had what I needed. Store was not crowded. Lots of sales. Nothing on the floor, everything in order.
