The Home Depot in other cities:
Love this place just need to keep stock up to date and the shelves with item.. 100% customer satisfaction here .. return desk are amazing group of ppl.. very patient and passionate about there work truly a pleasure to have been serviced by that team.. Ive been going to homedepot when they where 24 hrs in Queens and back then they where top notch,, here at thus location they r truly top notch especially the older gentleman that us the happiest fellow and love to help u out in the light and tolietree section has glasses u know who u r ... u rock dude thx u for always saying Hi and help me and my family out.. home depot u nailed it with this crew.Cree.. thx u
This Home Depot isnt my favorite one to go to. I thought it was clean, and the staff was very helpful. But I stood around waiting for help close to a hour and then what I needed wasnt in stock. Doesnt take away from the full experience. But next time just tell me we dont have it. I dont like the area that you have to pull in and out of either. On a busy afternoon its like waiting in line at six flags. Yes its that exciting when you finally get out. I do recommend it though regardless.
I went to this location because the Home Depot app claimed that the tool I wanted was in stocks. I have always known about this location but have only driven past it during work time. The location itself is extremely convenient to both enter and exit, and the parking lot is large and in good condition. Additionally, not only was the tool in stock, I was able to get a few other hard to find items while there. The best part of the experience were the ultra-friendly and super-helpful staff that helped me locate the tool and facilitated my checkout; they even put my items in a bag! I dont remember getting anything Ive bought in the last 18 months or so put in a bag of any kind by the cashier, so that was a pleasant surprise. Even the guy that retrieves shopping carts from the parking lot gave we a nice farewell send-off when I packed my car... On account of the fact that this location is easy to reach, well stocked, not crowded and staffed by courteous, helpful people, I will be going back the next time I go to Home Depot. Hey, Fishkill Staff: please dont ever change!
As I was walking up to the store to exchange my propane tank, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful employee. She escorted me into the store and asked her colleague to help me, which he did. Fantastic! I went back in to pick up a few other things and found the store clean, stocked and organized. One of the best HD experiences I’ve had.
NO STARS! DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT FOR GRANITE! PLEASE READ.We had placed our granite order through HOME DEPOT IN FISHKILL NY, everything was fine until the install. The Faucet hole was not drilled where i had showed /told them to drill it that day, they drilled the hole one inch off center of the window center and sink center, as you can see in the picture, ridiculous.Further, the island counter top has sharp fiberglass mesh under it and when you sit there your legs get scratched, my daughter has twice. And the response we get from both these places is, that how this granite is.Lastly the counter top on the left side of the stove is 3/4 smaller in depth than the counter top on the right side of the stove. We have spoken to home depot and stone works for over four months and nothing has been or will be done, terrible.I would not and will not let these people into my home again at the risk of them messing things up further. In the twenty years of being in the construction trade, i have not seen so many major mistakes on one job, which could have easily been remedied if they had cared and payed attention.Do not use them.Update: 7/26/2017. Sink fell off the granite today.. yeah, another thing to add to the list.. I wouldnt trust these people to even check you out in the store.
The biggest problem with Home Depot is their staffing model. Its not that there arent a lot of well-intentioned and good-natured people, but its how corporate and management position staff during certain times of the day, their focus and priorities. No one ever answers the phone promptly or directs you to the right person or department. The guys at the pro desk are great but overall its generally a pretty frustrating experience. Often I feel like Ron Swanson from Parks and recreation...I know more than them.
I came to the Fishkill store 9/1/21, the day of the hurricane. Im a woman in my 60s. It was pouring out and I was desperate for sand bags to protect my home from flooding. Finally found a stack outside in the garden area, no-one around to help. I pulled a dolly over and stacked it with 12 bags. I pushed the cart inside, passing several HD staff who looked the other way. I was doubled over, trying to get the thing to keep moving. I went to the self checkout, and at least someone helped with scanning. Then I pushed the thing out into the rain to load my car. By myself. No-one offered to help.I passed 5-10 staff, mostly men, most chatting with others, and none would meet my eye.Heres something Id suggest the store do at the next training. Wait until theres a heavy rain, then take ALL staff outside, have each of them load twelve .5 cubic foot bags of levelling sand onto one of those dollies, and then push the dolly through the store and out to the parking lot to unload them into a car. On their own. In pouring rain.Lack of customer support comes from the top. Perhaps this stores needs a new manager. I cant begin to tell you how disappointed I was, and how angry my husband was when I shared the story with him. He was working out of town. He had suggested I get supplies from HD, since theyre so helpful.Oh - and when I contacted HD to ask for the store managers email to send them the above, rather than post it as a review, I was told the email was unavailable. To call the store instead. Apparently, they dislike receiving emails that are less than pleasant.
I’ve only noticed this after I visited The Home Depot in Poughkeepsie, NY. Upon entering the Poughkeepsie location I was asked several times if I needed help, was assisted in the paint department, offered legitimate advice and felt so comfortable. None of those things are present in the Fishkill location.I can walk around looking confused and be left to myself. The energy is of employees that do not want to be there. Most of the checkout employees are courteous but if you need help in the rest of the store, ensure you have about 15-30 minutes to spare for the wait.Store is usually stocked well, aisles are usually clear and clean but the customer service and whole experience is severely lacking.
Placed an order to have a dishwasher delivered to my house. They scheduled my delivery for two weeks after I ordered the product, confirmed my delivery the morning before the delivery date, then cancelled my delivery later that afternoon and rescheduled it for a month later. Unfortunately I had to take the day off of work to accommodate the 4 hour delivery window, so now I’m out a days pay for nothing. They shouldn’t be confirming delivery for products they do not have in stock. Very unhappy with how this all went down.
This has been the first time that customer service of Home Depot failed me. I was sent to a store 40 minutes away from my house to buy something and upon arrival told they have none. The solution of customer service drive another 90 minutes to another state to pick it up from that store. So I wasted 90 minutes already driving back and forth and that what Im told, drive to the Connecticut store. Very poor customer service in this case and no willingness to get this resolved more appropriately. COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED with the information provided by the Fishkill store
Went on Black Friday to order some appliances for a new house. Spent an hour with some large fella and he Finally entered everything, then said the system was down and he couldnt order anything. Asked him what we should do and he had no idea, so We had to ask him to print out what we ordered. Went to customer service, took Another hour to re-enter everything, seemed fine. Got a call early the next week from someone there that said call me I can save you $300 on your order so of Course I thought it was fake and didnt respond. He called back the next day and then I picked up and he explained there was a computer glitch and the sale didnt go through and he needed to redo it (why didnt you say that the first time??) so I went back in. Another hour later voided the sale, redid it, card declined now because it takes 48 hours to refresh. Went back 3 days later, tried one more time, card declined. Call the credit card service, another half an hour later of her reciting every purchase Ive ever made on the card, when I asked why it wasnt working now she just said she couldnt hear me and hung up. Cancelled the order, cancelled the card, and will be going to Real shop to order appliances which is what I should have done in the first place. Save yourself trouble and go to a real hardware or appliance store.
This HD was exceptional in all ways, let me explain...1) the woman at CS was so nice handling the kit cabinet your store had that area stores did not. 2) the lonely red bearded guy in millwork got up from his computer and walked me to where he thought a product might be that I needed for my old windows. 3) the young man in plumbing who wears glasses helped me get down shower walls and pan. 4) the very helpful older very nice guy wearing white pants at the contractor register 1 was amazing, Arno I think. 5) read the receipt to find a woman store mgr to me was yes! Youre running a great store, because on 07/04 between 2:50p and 3:30 to have a clean, wide aisle store with great associates happily working on a day they could be with family is like a miracle!Keep up the great job Fishkill HD!I cant forget the young man who helped load the truck was very nice too!G. Their curbside pick up is confusing. I checked in then i get a text saying customer service desk has it so I have to go in and get it. I checked in then it says someone will be out. Too confusing I ended up walking in missing the associate and catching him in the parking lot.
One of the worst home depots I ever been in by far Every associate I spoke with had no general knowledge whatsoever On multiple items Waited in line 20 minutes got up to register and then they shut it down and tell me go to another register. Believe me I get it things Happen. But in all fairness if you ever need windows make sure you ask for Annie She is the best
The girl at self checkout with long dark hair stood nervously over me the entire time I checked out, kept asking me if I wanted the things I was buying, then kept asking me if she could put them back, and THEN scrolled through my entire order on the computer looking at the things in my cart as if I were stealing. Excruciating, horrible experience.
They had what I needed but getting the help (personnel) to obtain it was a big challenge. The items I needed were stored high up and a forklift was required to get them down. Only two people in the store were authorized to operate the forklift. And this was on a Saturday in June. It took at least an hour to get my purchase. Store was also messy, with package debris kn the floor in several places. Plan ahead.
Went to purchase a refrigerator which I dread doing. My salesman, Ivan from Home Depot in Fishkill was such a pleasure to deal with. He made everything easy, fast and painless. Very informative and just an all around very nice and man to do business with. Ivan changed the way I feel about appliance shopping!!! Thank you Ivan from Home Depot in Fishkill, NY.
This is has to be the worst store in so far as customer service. After placing an over $4K order for flooring; I couldnt get anyone to assist with extra boxes of the same flooring. Spoke to Deborah, store mgr, and she handled expeditiously and efficiently. But why do you have to escalate to mgmt. Days later I am back calling the store to order three more boxes. Spoke to M------e of flooring and she cannot figure out how to re-order 3 boxes of the same flooring. I have the SKU#, my previous order number to reference, gave her my ph # - but with all of that she could not handle. She insisted on transferring me to a mgr. and then proceeded to disconnect me. She has my phone number so you would hope she would return my call but I am left to call back and wait on the line till someone picks up. I have been waiting for 10 minutes for someone to pickup, After this transaction I am hoping never to return. Just spoke to Matt, not sure of his position but he handled as it should be - concise, no issue and efficiently. Change my mind - I may go back.
We only go to places like this because theyre convenient. They sell a lot of warped wood, a lot of plastic / cheap products. We all know what home Depot is, its a convenience store. I like the convenience of having a home Depot within 10 mi of my house. Im not sure why this needs a review. We know at home Depot theres never anyone to help in any aisles. I can say that theres a ton of teenagers theyre working now because of covid. On June 19th they were making fake southern accents and yelling at each other and I thought it was extremely inappropriate.
I paid for a delivery of some materials and the Cortland Home Depot sent it to this store who sent me the wrong materials. This is the biggest run around Ive ever encountered trying to get them to exchange the products.Three phone calls and an hour later and Im still on hold terrible customer service
There is always employees just hanging around not doing anything. We went at night and the store was empty. Employees doing nothing. You think they would use the time wisely and straighten up the departments and learn what is in them to better help customers. Management needs to organize this store and train employees better😒
If I could rate it -100 I would. Horrible customer service. Always Deliver damaged products, from tool boxes to everything. Door and window people less then useless. Paid $5000+ for two Andersen sliding doors, they are defective, it’s been weeks with no response, or activity, or action. This is horrible and not acceptable from Home Depot or Andersen
Went to this Home Depot today after being told on Saturday (at the Brewster location) that there would be no one at the Pro Desk until Monday. I had a list ready to place a sizeable order. The woman there said I would have to have skus for every item I wanted to order. Seriously? I didnt realize that it was such an effort for an employee to look at the items on my list, punch them up on a computer, then verify that it was what I wanted. This is not the first time I had trouble placing orders through Home Depot. Needless to say, the customer service at both locations is seriously deficient. I then went to the local lumber yard. Within 5 minutes, my order was completed, delivery was set for this coming Tuesday, and I was THANKED; instead of being made to feel that I was somehow interrupting someones personal time. I also noticed that the pricing was within a dollar of Home Depots prices. I will certainly do most, if not all of my home improvement shopping at my local stores, and will encourage my fellow homeowners to do the same.
Went in for salt/ice melt ahead of todays storm. Asked an employee for its location. First, he showed me the big (50 lb?) bags. I asked if there were smaller ones. Showed us where they were and put them in the cart! Also had a nice conversation with Judy in the kitchens area!
My go to Home Depot when in the area. They usually have everything in stock. Happy they have an app telling me how many items they have in stock and where. Only complaint is someone usually does not unpack and stock shelves so you have to flag someone down to get item off top shelf
I stopped here Friday to do what should of been just an easy return, the girl at service desk had an attitude with me from the start. She had to call a manager just to return a pack of the wrong lightbulbs I mean come on how ridiculous!! Will not go into this Home Depot anymore.
I love this place. Everything a guy could want. Its like a chick mall for guys. They usually have what I need but even when they dont, its ok because I almost get high just walking through the doors. Sometimes even when I dont need anything from the place I just cruse through the lumber section and sniff the pine man.
Typical Home Depot. This one is in a good location next to a dying mall, so there is plenty of parking and you dont have to fight traffic getting here. I like their selection of goods but I hate their self-checkout and that fact they do not offer a veterans discount like Lowes does, so i tend to shop at Lowes.
I went there ask for help from someone when I was looking for something in an aisle he got on his little phone he told the person get to me whenever you wanted I waited there 45 minutes waiting for the help that was supposedly going to come I will never go there again what worst customer service ever and most people at work that do not know what theyre doing and they usually tell me Im sorry I just started
If you want either no, or rude service please come here..One day I asked the lady at the front desk if I could borrow a tape measure. She replied that I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE HER MY WATCH AS COLLATERAL..I complained to the store manager, who was wearing Dreadlocks, and he just shrugged his shoulders...One time I needed wire cut. I was told TO COME BACK IN 1 HOUR, AS THE ELECTRICAL ASSOCIATE WAS ON HIS LUNCH BREAK.Another time I asked the lady at the Hardware section to help me and she said NO , IM BUSY NOW. And she walked away...Then one day I asked the Dreadlock wearing manager for help, and he responded by ,rolling his eyes, putting his cell phone to his ear, and walked away.Thank God for the True Value Hardware store in Beacon.
Picked up my air conditioner I ordered online at Fishkill NY store. I was waited on quickly. Employee Ismail Awadallah helped me and assisted me to my car. He refused to take the tip I was insisting on, he told me a happy customer is enough for him. Very impressed by this employee, HD Fishkill is lucky to have such an honest loyal employee.
One of the better Home Depots in the area the staff is a lot more helpful unlike the Wappingers or Poughkeepsie one you could be walking around for hours before you found someone to help you in a dept stopped last week to get some molding and found what I needed quick thanks to some help
The average big box home repair store, realistically only competing with the other monstrous “ DO IT YOURSELF” chain store (Lowe’s). Home Depot offers average customer service occasionally from someone who knows what their talking about in a dingy and un-pleasing to the eye environment. In my opinion Home depot caters more to the rough calloused contractor types, offering builder grade materials to those focused on getting the job done. Whereas Lowes seems a bit more female friendly, offering a cleaner environment, a non-intrusive look somewhat easier on the eyes when picking out details for the home that will so importantly show who you are. Unlike Home Depot’s trademark orange; a color scheme reminiscent of every dingy T-shirt donned by hard working laborers even after being washed 1000 times by the hardest working BOSS on her day off. The CEO of every family- Home Depot get on board and recognize the overall female purchasing power and influence, we chose where those hard earned $ are spent, a fact that Home Depot doesn’t seem to recognize...Advertising and focusing on the Cookie cutter homebuilders and mass production condo Contractors rather than the hard working do it yourself homeowners who are fixing and upgrading the shoddy work and common fixtures done and chosen by someone with little care or interest in the building that will become our homes.

2022-05-22I was there tonight to buy a portable AC unit and they didn’t have the one I wanted. However James the manager was super professional and got me one with the same specs. He was so nice to work with it and is just one of those people who can put a smile on your face. Thanks James it’s the small things in life that count and your kindness is one of them.

2022-04-01Brian and Brianna are amazing. They helped me with an incredibly unique and difficult problem, but they stuck with it and helped me with my problem. I have gone to this Home Depot for years. Occasionally I go to one of the other local stores, but they never feel as great as this one. I suppose because of great staff like Brian and Brianna! Thank you both again so much!

2022-05-27Just moved to the area and was very happy and pleased with my visit and experience at the store. Sharkey from customer service and Susan in door installation were both helpful and assisted me with both of my purchases. Thank you both - I will be back soon.

2022-05-28Had 2 theft prevention personnel following me throughout the store (this is not the first time at this location either). Then, when I checked out, staff had the gulls demanding to see my receipt. Had I not already been late for a job, I would have asked for the manager. They profile here based on your skin color. Meanwhile, according to one associate, they have a high theft rate. I may never visit this location again.

2022-04-13Went to get some flower pots. Found what i wanted, sadly I had to dismantle half a shelf worth of other pots to get the ones i wanted free. The size made it impossible to remove from the shelving. Poor product placement. Other than that, it was an ok visit. Once you go to a home depot, you have been to them all, basically.
