The Home Depot in other cities:
Worst experience worst customer service. I asked a gentleman today in the tool aisle the difference between the two drills that I wanted to purchase and he told me to read the box and then walked away from me. The same gentleman I asked for help on one more situation and he totally ignored me two separate times and when I finally got him back he said just look in the aisle for it and walked away yet again. When I said to him why are you just walking away and not helping me he started cursing at me screaming and gave me such an attitude that I walked out of the store on the way out I asked a manager for help to let him know about the situation and he could care less as well even though home Depot in Freeport is 5 minutes from me and Ive been using them for 30 years I will never use them again and I would rather travel miles away than to deal with such Petty unprofessional human beings I was only able to give one star if I could give zero or negative that would totally be my answer to the unprofessionalism and stupidity that I dealt with today
The manager Bernardo needs to grow his social skills and treat his customers correctly. Terrible experience with his attitude and non-understanding poor support. Homedepot should look into a replacement if they want any type of good reviews for this location. I would give them zero stars if I could. Corporate has corrected the issue but what cannot be fixed is the way this manager speaks to his customers, Thanks for pubic humiliation homedepot of Freeport.
Stopped by to pick up some gardening items for my home and was asked to take a group photo for staff at this location. The whole group was very friendly and had a great report with each other so I helped out.One gentleman in the group named Samora was kind enough to help me with my purchase and even provided a 10% discount since I helped with the photo. My items were easy to find, the store was clean and well organized, and Overall I’m glad I chose Home Depot. Will certainly be returning soon!!
I have autoimmune and dont like shopping in stores atm unless i have to. Today I had no choice but to stop in..1. The store was very crowded, not sure if it was within guidelines or not but it was packed.2. A big % of the patrons and the staff had their masks on their chin, or not on at all3. Few people minded the 6 foot distancing rule.4. They had the item I wanted but it was packed away on a pallet high up so i couldnt get it. I had to leave empty handed. This was hands down the worst experience I ever had since covid started. Here is just one example of many..
Doing a kitchen project. Some of the service reps are not helpful. Tried to buy tile online, had to cancel my order because they dont take prepaid cards over the phone. When I went into the store to complete the purchase, the customer service rep gave me a price higher than I had originally purchased online. When I asked if they could honor the original price, the answer was no. Not sure why the prices in the store are somehow higher as soon as I walked in on the same day of having to cancel the original order. After years of ordering from Home Depot, I will most likely be taking my business elsewhere when they dont honor their own prices.
So this visit is during the covid pandemic and it was a very controlled and safe environment everyone was properly equipped with ppe and well-organized check out. I never felt it was unsafe. Good selection of products they were out of stock on some items but prepared with alternatives during this visit, this location is not my local home depot. Overall I was not disappointed.
Well, their in store app is always saying things are in one aisle and then you have to ask to find it since its on the other end of the store. Garbage. Then they dont have cashiers. Its all self checkout. The girl stationed there was rude and made me feel like I should have gone to Lowes. Never again. Lowes is now my store.
Good store but there is lack of help and parking is a nightmare. The parking lot is huge, but it’s always mobbed no matter when you go. Have to search for an associate inside store if you need help. I was enquiring if they sold Armstrong vinyl flooring but they don’t. Lady in that dept. was helpful though, suggesting other brands.
Was not able to get what I went there for, a key lock assembly for Anderson Sliding door. And did not receive much help from the guy in that department although usually the staff has been willing to help me find what Im there for. I remember when they had people who had much more knowledge and experience about materials sold in their departments. I guess now they hire people who have minimal or no prior experience in the building trades. Although I still go there for most of what I need for repairs and projects. Although with over 30 years experience in the building trade, I know what I need, just sometimes need help finding it or sometimes finding staff that knows what Im talking about
Ive never dealt with more incompetent people in my life. The overall service is horrendous. No one can provide accurate in stock answers. Nothing is ever in the bay they say it is online. I even tried ordering my items online for in store pickup and they cant even do that in a timely manner. Drive the extra 15 minutes in any direction to not shop at this home depot.
Help was terrible. Asked one person about a product, said they didnt carry it and the person standing right next to him said its in isle #23. Help is either so lazy they cant be bothered or just plain stupid and dont want to learn. I do apologize for the staff that do care, Home Depot, get with it ,YOU ARE LOSING BUSINESS! and Ill be splitting my business amongst other venders. If by chance there is a english language barrier place the staff that doesnt understand in a different position...This is the Freeport store, the Levittown store was worse. Maybe Ill add another half a star.....
I am a big fan of home Depot, but this hd location is clearly understaffed and needs its operation looked at. The employees I did work with were really helpful,. And stretched thin. The worst part of my experience was having to go to a nearby Ace hardware store, to buy some electrical and plumbing items that Ace hardware sold in single units, and HD only carries in 5-packs, forcing me to buy extra (clearly to get me to spend more money). This is not a supply chain problem, except for the fact that they are shifting inventory to people who dont need it, which may excaserbate a shortage at a later date). The store had 4 self service and one pro checkout open, which was not adequate. The two women working the checkouts were efficient and cheerful, despite the issues with the self checkout.I sincerely hope that HD ups its game, and improves this location! The good news is that parking was adequate, most people (and all the employees) wore masks.
It was a pleasant visit that culminated in a big purchase. A knowledgeable floor associate educated me on different brands which prompted my decision for the purchase of a lawn mower as a housewarming gift for my sister as a first time home owner. The same gentleman helped me place the big box on the flat bed, the check out rep was very courteously professional and provided me with a military discount as a veteran of the armed forces (a very nice unexpected surprise) for which I am grateful. Two gentlemen came out to assist me load the box in my truck. Overall, an amazing experience at my neighborhood Home Depot, I am proud to say I recommend my neighborhood Home Depot in Freeport to all for great service, helpful staff, and positive total experience. Well done 👏
Has everything you need. Huge, large choices and big aisles. The only issue is that it is hard to get someone to assist you. I am sure they lose a lot of sales to the other major competitor that has more helpful staff. Even if you know what you want, it can be quite a daunting feat to find the right person for the department you need assistance in.
I only shop because it’s local. They don’t take returns and hassle you about exchanges even if you are buying everyday. They hardly have enough staff. Employees don’t help they hide. The senior staff is far and few but if you can find them they are good. My suggestion l, go to Westbury, hempstead or tryLowe’s. I am still waiting for the $219 credit for the unopened vanity I returned. SMH This storeIs poorly run and the managers are absent
Good store to source products, great staff except a few bad apples that say thing like this is not my department then disappear without any possible solutions. Forget running in and running out, you will spend no less than forty minutes for one item if you dont know exactly what the item is and which isle and bin to find it. Check out item online first.
Once again the Freeport location proves to be an absolute disappointment. Everything is a complete mess, the selection is poor, restocking is haphazard and not enough cashiers on duty. I absolutely wasted a trip. I will never go to this location again, it is an embarrassment and if corporate is reading this you need to look into this. I am going to gladly drive to the Levittown location from now on, Even though it is about 20 minutes out of my way. Seriously whoever the store manager is, They should be ashamed.
I visited the customer service counter for returns, pick-ups and orders yesterday evening. I stood in line and was called to go to counter 20. As soon as I got there, the representative answered the phone and was on the phone for almost 10 minutes. I became annoyed and started complaining, everyone else who waited on line after me was helped while I stood there. After she finished her phone call, she had a bad attitude, stared at me, walked around and refused to help. I had to wait even longer for someone to help me. The customer service experience was terrible.
Customer service is not good! The customer service desk is great they help you and they know what they are doing butthey really need to step up their Employee service and service on the sales floor Whenever I cannot find an item and have a question for a Employee I can never find one and when I do they dont know anything And they have to call someone specifically for that Ill and then you have to wait 20 minutes and thats if that person even knows where the item that you are looking for is
While at the paint center, we were given very special treatment, and we were treated with professional courtesy as we were choosing which colors to pick for each room. The wait time to mixed the paints on the centrifuge was minimal. The staff there was superb, answering all our questions with a friendly smile and treating us with the utmost respect.
Staff generally avoid customers and only about 50% of the staff know the product or have experience working with it so, hit-or-miss. Good luck trying to find someone to mill lumber or cut a length of carpet or answer a question about additional stock. That alone will take an hour.
From my experience, every Home Depot store is different. This one in Freeport has better selection of items available in store and outstanding customer service. Every associate goes above and beyond to help you. Overall, if you need to go to Home Depot, take some extra time and go to a better one, like the one in Freeport.
Ive never done a review before till today BIG UP Christian who went above and beyond his customer service duty help me.After waiting over 45 minutes in the hot sun of the parking lot for my online order. Its seems other customer service rep couldnt locate my item. Christian was the one who locate my order. Managers, Exemplify his service!!! Give him a raise..he save me 1/2 day work and salary..
Good location, easy to get to from Merrick Road or Sunrise Highway. Not the best at keeping shelves in stock for more popular items. The website makes finding items in store extremely easy with clearly marked shelf and bay numbers. Prices are competitive with other home improvement stores but significantly more than the industry supply houses such as for plumbing and electrical.
Wow Awesome STAFF, super helpful I’ll definitely come back here anytime. After parking my car In the parking lot a staff member named Evelyn a older man, walked up to me and unload my car all the way from the parking lot to the register. I bought 2 doors that were the wrong size for my house & had to do an exchange for a smaller size. I was so pleased with the help & the staffs courtesy. Then while I was looking for my size door another staff member named Arty also helped me looking for my doors. He was so nice. Even as I was a little indecisive Arty was so patient and gave me good information about the doors I needed. I was so surprised bc of all the years that I’ve been to Home Depot I’ve never had such a great & helpful experience. Then during check out my cashier was a young lady named Dhalia, wow she was also soooo sweet. She helped me with my Exchange, she was alone in the return area and the customer line for check out was pretty long but she was very calm & checked everyone out fast. She was so considerate and even apologize to me for the long wait. Very nice place, could be a little more organized but overall very sweet & helpful employees.
My home away from home. I have to commend the Gardening supervisor Kevin! This is the best supervisor even! His customer service skills are yo be admired! He goes out of his way and walks through the store to assist you! He should be promoted to district manager! Melody, cashier is awesome! Sang Happy Birthday to my little one and had the line singing, made my little ones day!! I commend her customer service skills! Zeezee, went out of his way to assist me, great, dedicated and went the extra mile! They all need to be commended! Thank you! Much appreciated. Thank you for making my shopping experience a memorable one!
You get almost everything here for the DIYer. The only thing lacking is good help. Best look stuff up online in their app, do your research and then beeline to the appropriate aisle. If you ask for help, chances are you will land up walking around the entire store aimlessly.Prices are competitive and the returns process, with our without a receipt, is hassle free.
You can find almost anything you might need. Except someone to help you. I went for keys first Noone was at the stand, when I flagged someone down to help. I was questioned on how did I know what key blank should be used. I used to make keys myself and more importantly I took full advantage of the educational system wich means I can read. He then was rather lackadaisical with making the keys as if he had better things to do. I understand I was keeping him from a big commission sale (they dont do commision). Overall happy with merchandise selection, not plused with the employee selection.
The worse home Depot on the planet. If you place a order forget about and update or try to call. Been trying to call for 3 days no answer. Stop in yeah order got sent back because you never picked it up. How am I supposed to pick it up if I have no idea if it came in. Then I get all attitude. Over paid all I have to say
This is one of if not the worst Home Depot around. Never can I get what I need , always no inventory and what is on the shelf has been returned or unusable. The staff does not want to help, they actually give you an attitude when you ask a question. The isles or a mess , no rhyme or reason as to how items are placed on the shelf. Typical Corporate America BS. Hire bodies with no skill or experience. So done with it!!!!
Great price for the item, but the help is terrible. In my first encounter, I asked a female employee where were the measuring tapes. She didnt know and told me to ask the old guy. First of all, she works in Home Depot and you probably sell hundreds of measuring tapes a week, and you dont know where they are located. And you shouldnt call your co-worker old. She should be fired!! Next encounter, one man took the information, totally got wrong what I said, then went to another guy, who made like I didnt have any idea of how to purchase the item, then told me to see another guy, who already had 2 people that he was helping, but they dropped it on him. He was excellent, told me what to do and then helped me load the item. Thats pretty bad, when only 1 out of 4 workers can help you. Maybe management should pay a little attention and hire good workers and get rid of the lazy ones!
Everything we go to the cash registers, there is an issue. The older credit card machines always fail to work correctly. They have yet to replace them. It slows down the lines. They wont accept cash there and then they void your order and move you to another register to pay. Not only is this embarrassing it clutter the lines for payments. Update your system, will go out of the way and shop at Lowes, if enough disgruntled people switch they might have to fix it. In the meantime, a 2 minute purchase turned into a 20 minute excursion from register help #1 and then #2 put us through it again, even though we told him it wasnt working. Ridiculous!
I was looking to get a tool locked in a display case . I asked for help an announcement was made for an accessible to open the case. After 10 minutes nobody came. I started asking associates if they can help. One said that he can and would help as soon as he is finished making a key. When he was done he ran off like a troll. Everybody here has a nasty attitude. If you have an option to go somewhere else do it.
Kelly in the door section has given me the best customer service experience each time I come. Im ordering storm doors and she is knowledgeable, kind, helpful and professional. My husband and I have had a great experience with this home depot with other departments as well.
Just purchased three toilets there over the holiday weekend. Bruce and Mark helped me in the plumbing department. Excellent service. When I returned to store next day to pick up toilets, the staff was excellent and very helpful at the customer service desk. They accompanied me outside and helped me load my car.
I went to Freeport Home depot on December 2 to buy a refrigerator. i saw something i wanted to order. 2 younger workers were at the desk. i asked for help. She asked what I needed. I said I wanted some information on delivery. she said anything over $396 is free delivery and then turned around and continued to ignore me. I went to customer service and asked to speak to a Manager. The manager asked customer service to call another manager to which he answered that he was not there. I waited 10 minutes and left because i was too upset to wait around. I purchased my refrigerator today elsewhere and they were happy to help me . I guess Home Depot workers dont work on Commission so they think its ok NOT to help customers. I usually only write good reviews but this had to be written
I always go to this Home Depot because it is very nice. However, I’ve been coming here for paint lately cause i am moving to a new place and the lady at the pain section is very rude. You ask her a question and she doesn’t even acknowledge you and God forbid and she does she doesn’t even look at you in the face to speak to you. She gives you her back and dismisses you as if the questions she’s being asked bother her. Not professional at all and she’s not helpful either. I’ve visited the store three times this week and she continues to do the same.
Ordered doors for our home and had the best experience with Lorenzo and Dennis. They were knowledgable, patient, and cared for my purchase as if they were selling the items for their own business. Greatly appreciate the great customer service as well as the security of buying from a large store such as the Home Depot which stands behind all the items they sell.
Excellent location, easy enough to get to (right off of sunrise), the parking is easy, the cashiers and support staff are awesome. The prices are the same as the other home depot locations in the area but the experience is whats very positive here. Id recommend coming here instead of the one in green acres because thats insane.
WORST RETAIL STORE IN THE PLANETI bought a defective fridge and reported it immediately. Home Depot brushed me off stating we have a no return policy for Appliances. And told me I am sol. I went online and found their policy for appliances stating if the defect is reported within 48 hours I could return the item. I fought with them tooth and nail for 3 weeks and had to end up talking to corporate because they just refused to take it back. Even though it met their own return policy. They scheduled a pick date for last Friday. I took the day off because I just couldnt wait to get this fridge out of my dining room, I get no notice and no call and they never showed. It was rescheduled for today, I called last night to confirm ad they had NO IDEA what I was talking about. Meanwhile I am getting my credit card bill on a defective $1400 Fridge. Lynette was the store manager in charge of helping resolve my problem, she stopped returning my calls and emails. They dont care about their customers. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP AT HOME DEPOT. GO TO BEST BUY THEY HAVE AN AWESOME RETURN POLICY AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Would give no stars if I could. If you go there bring a translator and a lot of patience. Every employee is dumber and lazier than the next. I take that back being dumb is not a choice but the lazy employees there are useless and many. Half the people that work there do not habla and the other half dont give a s#!+. Horribly mismanaged. I would fire everyone and start over. With all the Home Depot locations within a 10 mile radius you should skip this one. Better yet go to Lowes. If the store manager reads this review your check out girl never even bothered to count the money I handed her. She just put the $140 right in the drawer. I could have handed her one $20 bill with six $1 bills under it. She was dumb as a rock!!! The store was not even busy!!! I did however enjoy the lowlife in the parking lot trying to sell us some loose Ritz crackers......That was a first. One last thing......if you are looking for a day laborer look no further they will come to you when you are loading up your car.Went back here on 7/19 for wood flooring. Used the only open checkout lanes that are self checkout. Next time to save time Im going to cut down my own oak trees and get it milled. It will be faster than navigating the unmanned checkout system that does not work and you need assistance for anyway. Just put the cashiers back. Where is the savings. I hate Home Depot and cant wait until they become the next Sears and go out of business. No expletive good enough for the lazy mismanaged people that work there.
Hard to get an employee to direct you to where something is. I asked 3 associates where stair treads were. I showed them on the Home Depot app. No one could properly direct me to location FS Bay 20!! 3 people!!. Very disappointing. Asked another associate where putty knives were he sent me to masonry!! Unbelievable!! Last thing you want to deal with after a long day of work and coming in there at 8pm!!
Went there to get a key made and a older male employee was called to help me out. He took one look at the key and said the machine cant cut this. Keep in mind its not a fancy high security key, just a regular cut that their machine is capable of. The employee was very rude and kept arguing with me. What kind of customer service is that? Finally he called a supervisor over and a key was cut in less than a minute. This employee should be properly trained for his department and he should also be trained with having proper manners.
They were off to a slow start but the manager Sandra Was very engaged and helpful. The associate Evan was the one who went to pick up my web order in the back. He was very willing and helpful as well. I have dealt with Sandra in the past and I am very pleased with her work ethic.
Last time I’m shopping here. I’m for real this time. Every time I go there I plan the trip. Check stock of items I need. Today I gave up. Items weren’t where site said. Listed 10 in stock and no where to be found. Threw what I had already shipped for in orange bucket and drove to Lowe’s. Levittown better but I’m done with the chain.
Placed an online order. Got text message to confirm order and that it was ready for pickup. Called to Confirm just because and it was cancelled. the item was not in stock. No email or call sent. And placed on hold for over 18 minutes to speak to someone about the order. Customer service rude and and barely let you get a word in before putting you on hold again! Would NEVER use their pay online pick up in store again!
2.5 stars They recently changed the configuration of the product location so you need to navigate on your own trying to find your needs. Customer service remains poor. Workers run away from anyone that looks like needs help.I’m giving it 3 stars because it is always open.
Typical home depot mess typical no-one around to ask questions. Stopped in to get a few things for the garden on way home from an early dinner. Also wanted spray paint for outdoor chairs and when i finally found the paint associate he was down right rude. Ugh what happened to the old time hardware stores with great customer service ( sigh... (
Home Depot is what I refer to as a Toy Store for adults. They just expanded into an additional 25,000 Sq ft. So its a little harder to find where everything is. But its progress. They also add tool rental area which is great.Since I deal primarily with the Pro Department its even easier than before. The associates are helpful and friendly.
Went to buy bathroom vanity, unit I wanted was third tier up in aisle 48. I spoke to two employees in theElectrical Dept was told couldnt help I should see someone in Plumbing asked if they could page someone outright refused. Found someone in kitchen department was busy another customer did page assistance to aisle #48 no one came by waited least five minutes. I found a big metal ladder from front of store dragged to back of store at least two home Depot employee s saw this and turned other way as to not have to help. Mission accomplished 915 pm.Its a shame the employees apparently hate their employer so much to go out of their way not to help.I have had great experiences at other home Depot s in the past. Freeport Management needs to step up IMHO.
Terrible. I work for a non profit company. I went to purchase water for my staff, we do not pay tax after the cashier looked up our number in the system, then she rang up the sale she would not except cash, only credit card. I have been buying water there for a year and never had a problem. The manager said that all the other cashiers made a mistake,REALLY WOW
Do not rent the log splitter at this location. Rented it and once I started splitting wood it was clear it wasn’t functioning properly. Called the store numerous times and was told to let it cool down and it would work. Finally brought it back after it wouldn’t turn on at all and immediately the store employee told me it was broken. Then said he would only give me 10% off for a machine that did not work. Now I have to drive to a further Home Depot and pay for another days rental to finish what I could have done in one day
Latasha G from Home Depot in Freeport store 1206 was amazing! She gives a new meaning to customer service and is an asset to the company.I want to say thank you to her for her help with my painting project. I’ve had a business for 25 years and she knew more then I did!
One of the worst tools rental. I went today to rent a machine and when I get there they tell me $65, but the blade is $65 Why they don’t say $130 to rent the whole machine. Then the employer that was in charge had on attitude since we first got there and there was another employee working that was new and the one in charge didn’t want to teach the new employee. We end up in a argument for her talking back and been disrespectful. I decided to call to file a complaint against the rude employer and they tall me that I was treating her, cause I was telling her to do not speak to me like that and to remember that I was the costumers and she was the employer. To learn to have a better customer service. Really, just let me know how the hell I was being rude. They stupid and delusional. Don’t waste your time going to a nasty and rude place like that one.
Its a warehouse for your home stuff BUT most likely they wont have that you need to repair things you buy there like their toilets, lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. I think they started to devote space to a lot of other things they want to sell like appliances that they lost the space they used to have for those items. They ARE one of the reasons Amazon is succeeding so well.
One of the best HD stores ever. Really helpful and friendly employees. Kay in Hardware/Lumber has assisted me multiple times (and even remembered me!) Renee (The Paint Diva) is simply one of the best retail employees I’ve met anywhere - knowledgeable and friendly, beyond helpful, just a gem! I hope management recognizes their Freeport team, it’s such a pleasure to shop this store!
If I could give this store a 0 i definitely would. Worse customer service. Went to buy two doors that would cost me close to 3k apparently their employees are to busy not helping customers. Went to Lowe’s best place ever. So don’t say I didn’t warn you. I waited over 45 minutes even called the store while I was in the store to get someone sent over and still nothing. Worse store ever !!
Went in for flooring. This amazing lady named Mary Anne helped me out. She had extensive knowledge, showed me over 4 different options, spent over 2 hours with me. Im very picky and can be very difficult with choosing. But she stuck through with me and helped me out with every tint ridiculous question that I had.
Okok 5/5 because they always have what I need BUT if you go any earlier than 8am its kinda intimidating. Everyone in the store at that time is either a plumper, electrician or carpenter who know EXACTLY what theyre looking for. So the employees arent super attentive because they assume everyone knows what theyre doing.
Singularly the worst Home Depot I have ever been to. Ive had a long term convenience - hate battle with this particular location for over a decade. I know they always grab the were too busy excuse for why this store is so frustrating to shop at, but thats BS. Need some tile cement? Sorry that isle is closed. Need a can of spray paint? Spend 20 min finding someone only to be lied to (we dont carry satin black because theres no call for it??? Gloss is the same!). Need 4 bolts to complete a project? Theyll have 3. There is a bad element there, they seem to hate their customer. This is not the case in other HDs I have visited. Because I live near by, I do go there from time to time but usually travel to another location or Lowes for bigger purchases and the also nearby Ace for small stuff. All are better! The last straw was today. Mulch was on sale, I needed it and didnt want to drive for it. For the first time (with HD) I purchased online to be picked up at the store. I figured Id avoid some of the frustration...wrong! The email said expect 2hrs for the order (longer for items that needed assembly, but >mulch
If i could give 0 stars i would. I ordered 80 cases of tile floors for my house from this store 2 months ago. I just got the tile last week. Then i realized they gave me the wrong color tile. I ordered it in brown they gave me gray. So i have 80 cases of the wrong tile at my house. Now, I ask them to send someone to come and pick up their mistake so we can have them replaced with the right tile because i am not bringing 80 cases of tile to the store. Since Saturday I have been told that I am getting a call back with a confirmation number for the pick day and everything. I have called every single day and nothing has happened. I have been there in person. I also called the home depot 1800 number and they kept me on hold while trying to get intouch with the store and was shocked when on one answered. This store is terrible and i am so furious. They had me leave the tile outside ym house on the pallets for the pick up people to take and and its been outside since monday. It would rain, or get destroyed or someone could steal some. I have a tarp over it and tis wrapped in plastic but at this point this is on them and i am truely furious.
Always this place along with lows never have any employees to help you wherever you need .and if any employee there and you asked for help , ither they dont know anything about what you asked or they give a bad attitude.they think are doing a favor by giving you an attitude.we are paying their salaries by patronising the stores.they should be happy by having a job.
Freeport home depot has the WORST customer service in the world. After standing in line for 20 minutes, I get to check out, and the cashier took not 1, not 2 but 3 phone calls while ringing me up. And the best is when she took one item (only had 3) and looked it over, found it had no price tag or sku on it, and says to me, This aint got no price on it, so I cant be selling it to you and that was it.... I nearly lost my cool right there but decided that it wasnt worth it. And besides, you cant repair stupidity. Do yourself a favor, hit Ace or Amazon and you wont have to deal with piss poor customer service.
Horrible service. In the store 1 hr asked a sales person I needed epoxy to fix a sink. Told me to go to plumbing, went to plumbing, then told me to go to paint dept. He didnt know then he asked someone else, then that was 4 people. Then another 2 people later finally got the epoxy! Exhausted never go there again!
This is by far the worst HD Ive been in and Ive been in multiple states. Making it bigger made no difference and moving where stuff was made it worse. Wrong items in delivery.Delayed deliveries on 2 different trucks and with the same items the first truck delivered. Store says they have X amount of this item, good luck finding it!Soooooo much wasted time in this store.
The 2 stars is just for a great worker in the tool department who always rights the problems home depot gives like getting a new $200+ dollar power tool home to find all its accessories were taken out prior of new batteries swapped for dead non charging ones not to mention a $100 light fixture with used /blown bulbs in it.... it never ends
Worst place ever. Stock is never accurate to the website or app, I waited 40 minutes for someone to locate a possible second pallet and nope they didnt have it. All employees seem to be lowest common denominator. When they speak words just fall out of their mouths, they put in -100% effort, Im ignored half the time and Im certain its because Im Native American and look Hispanic to most because when my adopted father gets service he gets at least an attentive demeor from an employee. They think Im a day labor. Im exhausted by this place. They need to hire a new manager and a lot of new employees. Ones with above average IQ.
Where do they find the help for this place lol. Ive never waited so long to be helped in my entire life. I dread going to this store anytime I get sent here for work. Currently waiting for 45 minutes for someone to pick a call in order and still waiting. Unnatentive slow people behind counters. Major management issue here.
The absolute WORST customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. Avoid this place if youre smart. No one answers phones and when you finally get through, no one has a clue what is going on, youre transferred to numerous people who just keep with passing the buck. I will never shop here again. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Totally mixed 6 different paint colors that I asked for wrong. Bill at the paint section was completely unhelpful and rude about it and told me that I had to figure it out myself. Then asked why I needed to get the Behr color that I was asking for and couldn’t just pick something else. What’s the point in picking something else when you mix the colors wrong no matter what? My recommendation if you need paint, despite it being a little more expensive, go to Sherwin Williams instead. Going to this Home Depot was a total waste of my time and money. Bill is horrible at customer service and could use some retraining.
Before we drove to Home Depo I phoned and spoke to a wonderful employee named Julie in appliances in Freeport NY. She was extremely informative and answered all my questions. Then myself and my husband went there and she continued to be so courteous and an absolute pleasure to do business with. Home Depo is very fortunate to have a wonderful employee like Julie. We purchased a new refrigerator with extended warranty and credit Julie with this purchase.
I was looking for topsoil and was getting frustrated because nobody seem to want to help me. Until this gentleman by the name of Rad came and help me when nobody else seemed to care. It seemed like everybody else pass the buck to everybody else but I was so appreciative of Brad that he took this time to help me get my topsoil that I needed. Thanks Rad for taking the time to help me!
Awful customer service when you place a paid in advance order stood online for 24 minutes then the girl at the counter said sorry, they dont hire more help... we need help.. not my problem simply let me know your having a hard time.. communication is key.. i just got an attitude
I attended a DIY workshop on how to install a ceiling fan. Brendan instructed me on how to take down the fan. Bill instructed me on how to install the new fan. Bill took his time, he was patient and nice to speak with. Bill helped me select a ceiling fan to purchase. I got home and was able to complete this installation. thank you Brendan and Thank you Bill.
I was very aprehensive about redoing my kitchen at HD. I WAS RIGHT! This is probably the WORST Home Depot Ive ever delt with!!! Buyer beware!!! DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT deal with the KD in this place. Ive had the worst experience with these people and it continues. KD WAS THE WORST! KD ruined my design and cabinet cutouts were not the right size for my appliances! Wrong molding was put in because the comunication between HD and contractor was terrible. I cannot tell you enough PLEASE Spend your money else where or you will regret it like me :(
I have 4 issues and a general comment. 1. The worst part is customer service by phone. You usually get hung up on a few times before you get an answer to your question, and then usually you find out later the information you were given was wrong anyway. 2. When a woman tries to get help in the building materials, hardware, or tools department shes usually treated like a second class citizen. 3. When asking where something is, youre usually given incorrect information so you end up spending a lot of time walking up and down the isles wasting time. 4. There are a lot of items I can get in other HDs that I cannot get in this one, and Im usually told we dont carry that as if HD doesnt carry it. They neglect to tell you its not HD that does not carry the item, its just that location.... COMMENT: All NY employees seem to have a bit of an attitude problem. I suggest they get trained by someone who grew up in and trained in the pacific northwest - where extremely friendly and helpful attitudes are the norm.
Returns department left much to be desired. I saw at least 6 people who looked like they worked there, but line grew longer and longer as they all stared at computer monitors or papers in their hands not seeming to take notice of waiting customers until one man started yelling and screaming.
I went there today. Asked an employee for assistance in purchasing a 64 gallon garbage can. She called for customer assistance, no one came after 20 minutes. I went to another employee, who called for customer assistance. No one ever came to aisle 7, therefore I left the Freeport Home Depot.

2022-04-17Usually when I go to Home Depot, either ppl are not helpful and cant be bothered or not knowledgeable of things in their department. But this Home Depot is great! I wish I got the persons name but I needed to stain some wood in my house and he made sure the stain I picked up was what I needed for the project I described to him, and he also taught me a few pointers to make it easier. Then I asked him what other items wed need he kindly told me which aisle and said hed be around if I had further questions. He actually went ahead of me and went to the aisle that I needed to be and picked out the items Id need. He was amazing. Then I went to the garden department and another gentleman approached and asked if I needed help and picked out tulips that I needed. It was a very pleasant trip. I would definitely go back to this Home Depot

2022-03-01I went into Home Depot looking for interior doors. I asked a worker who works in the windows/doors department where the interior doors are located. The worker didnt even look at me and seemed annoyed that I needed his assistance but did tell me where I needed to go. After I got what was needed, I needed hinges and went back to the same employee for assistance. Again, he didnt look at me and seemed annoyed. This is not the first time Ive experienced this in that store. Basic customer service is to look at someone, smile and greet. Home Depot is a big corporation so who cares right? They will still get there money. Ill pay a little extra for a mom and pop shop. At least I will feel welcomed. In case anyone from corporate cares to investigate, I did not get his name but I did visit the store on March 1st at approximately 11AM at the location in Freeport, NY.

2022-04-19HORRIBLE. Do not trust their website for a second. Said they had 48 gallons of fuel in the store meanwhile not a single employee could locate one. I wasted 30 minutes being told to go to 5 different locations in the store while still having no luck. By far the worst home depot I have ever been to in terms of customer service, efficiency and sheer common sense. Very displeased, if i could rate 0 stars i would

2022-02-15The employees here are sub par. They dont know much about home improvement, nor much about their own store for that matter. They get annoyed with me for asking where items they have listed in stock are, give incorrect directions, and then lie that they arent in stock if they are too stupid to find them. This happens pretty much every time I try this store: not an isolated incident.Save yourself some time and go to another home depot. There is one 15 minutes away which doesnt have such incompetent people working it.

2022-06-10Katelyn in customer service at the Freeport store gets 5 stars for being so polite, so professional and very knowledgeable. She went out of her way to help me with an order, her assistance was beyond commendable! Thank you Katelyn!

2022-06-03The Home Depot in Freeport is a great location to shop for all your home improvement needs. The staff is friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable and were there to assist me every step of the way. I met the Manager Mr McNeil on the floor and I found him to be personable and efficient. Overall it was a good experience at my neighborhood store and I highly recommend them.

2022-05-11I came to the Freeport Home Depot looking to buy a simple plant at the garden center. The process of checking out was ridiculously sloth-like. Expect to wait, wait, and wait some more. The cashier was on his phone price checking something or texting his friend, I couldnt tell and he didnt communicate what he was doing. I just stood there politely waiting with another customer ahead of me also waiting. So after about 10 minutes I went to different cashier, and then that cashier left the register to go price check something for a customer ahead of me. After waiting another 10 minutes for her to return, I decided to put the plant back that I intended to purchase and left the store. By all means if you have time to waste standing in line then this is the place to go. It would probably have been faster to drive to the Levittown Home Depot than to have wasted my afternoon here. And people wonder why so many people prefer to buy things online... sheesh.

2022-03-31The lines are horrendous! There isnt any structure whatsoever in this store,as there should be. Atleast, someone near the registers assisting the customers and expediting the customers going and coming. Alot of confusion ,too much crowding in the front area. Incredibly backed up and too crowded! And no security at all by the doors! Very poorly ran! Could only imagine how high shrinkage level is at the end of the year!

2022-04-18Stopped in to pick up spray paint but store is a disaster. Aisles are blocked and shelves a mess and I had to avoid customers small dogs walking through the store. I am heading to a local store, which I should have done in the first place. I would rather pay higher prices for actual customer service.

2022-05-10Giving this store one star was one too many. The store is filthy, the parking lot is filled with day laborers. The employees are lazy , rude and useless. It will be a cold day in hell before I ever go back in this Home Depot. Corporate should come and try a walk thru.
