The Home Depot in other cities:
Came to this location on December 27th, it was pretty quiet after Christmas, seemed like there were more employees in the store than customers. We wanted to buy a fridge, picked the one we liked, waited for anyone to help us, nobody would come and ask if we needed assistance. We saw four employees chatting near by, asked them for help, they sent us to the front. Went to the front and were told to wait by the fridge area, they were going to send someone. Waited another 10 minutes, asked two more employees for help, they called someone on the phone but after another 10 minutes we had enough and walked away. Ended up buying the fridge from PC Richards in college point, their staff was so much more attentive. Read a few other reviews and seems like it’s a continuous problem, and management doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it. Don’t shop here if you value your time, because they don’t, and have no interest in getting business
Was looking for mouldings that were supposedly in stock but none were available. Checked with customer service. The service rep did come out to check with me but couldnt find them. He sent me to another store that did have them in stock. No stock here but was courteous and helpful.
Needed help in tool aisle, radio playing very loud in aisle I yelled out excuse me about 3 times in direction of young braided female clerk in red sweater, I decided to lower volume to radio and attempt to get clerks attention by saying excuse me in loud voice about 3 times. Now I felt like was being ignored, you couldn’t have not heard me at this point. Another clerk passed through aisle and I asked for help sure wasn’t sure and pointed in the direction of same clerk that was ignoring me, I walked around and asked another clerk who also pointed me to the same clerk that was ignoring me. I had no choice went to clerk and got close asked for help and I asked her for the corresponding battery pack and charger to the tire inflator/compressor i was trying to buy. That when she started with the I don’t knows, asked her if she could check the locked cages where the merchandise is kept and she refused and walked away. Finally found a clerk that new where every thing was and even recommended a product. Why should anyone have to go through this to buy something.
This is the worst home depot in all the 5 boroughs. They have the worst customer service. They have put me through hell for the last 6 days. And I still havent seen the item that I purchased. And when u are nit satisfied with their service and ask to speak to a manager they pawn you off to everyone but the manager back to the people u have a complaint about for them to catch an attitude and start a conversation with I already told you.... well obviously I wasnt satisfied with ur lack of knowledge about ur job and your customer service practices so instead of me becoming a whole Karen let me talk to someone else. But if u need something from home depot go to a different location or order online
I have to say this Home Depot wasnt a disappointment like the Exterior Avenue Bronx Mall location. It was abundantly stocked and the personnel was courteous and willing to help. Not like rude-ville where my shopping experience is more of an unpleasant regret regarding the aforementioned location. And, both cutting stations in the lumber department were operational. Can you imagine that? Wait. It gets better they did several cuts without complaint omg. Just be mindful to remind the technician to cut outside the measurement line and youll walk out happily. Ill pay the toll for this kind of service. Lol.
I would up laud great appreciation for the flooring associate Mr. Khan , I was in desperate need of wood flooring and online only Bulova was showing 50 in stock, when I went to the store asked an associate he was unable to find it, then I approached Mr Khan who was the nicest gentleman , he manually located that Pallet after good 30 minutes search which was ghost pallet unmarked and un tagged... this guy saved my life , otherwise I would have lost a job. in the mean time he helped people locate items in garden and in hardware... great appreciation...
Words cant express how frustrating the experience was at this location. I literally spent 15 minutes arguing with an associate about a sign that was displayed what seemed like a good deal for black Friday. He kept telling me they didnt put that sign and it couldve been a customer. I requested for him to get his manager and all he responded was theyre going to say the same thing so their is no point in getting them. I managed to convince him to get a supervisor and he agreed to the price change. Told the cashier that it was approved and she was still incompetent as to how to make the adjustment. At this point I had enough and told them to just charge me full price, the fact that I spent more time arguing about a price then finding the materials I needed was astonishing.
This location is never crowded when I visit. The lines move relatively quickly and the employees are friendly. Dont forget to visit the FREE KIDS WORKSHOPS on the 1st Saturday of each month. The Workshop lady is terrific and she saves previous projects in case you missed it.
I was there today for some plants and pots. I was able to find exactly the plants I had as looking for and was happy to see someone outside watering them and tending to them. I was slightly disappointed in the selection of pots. There wasnt much to choose from and didnt seem well stocked with different sizes and colors. However the customer service was fantastic.
We were looking for a new fridge and Mr. Frank helped us and also told more about the models and which fridge is better more a specific location and even showed us a reasons to big this beautiful fridge and we weren’t sure if we were buying a fridge today but, this guy knows how to seal a deal. Very nice and smart guy. Best customer service ever and I respect him very much. I would definitely come back. God bless you Mr. Frank.❤️
Its home Depot. Its good. The staff isnt always the most knowledgeable, but its ok. Just do your homework before you go. This is a smaller store so dont expect them to have everything you find at a full sized home Depot. If you want that, go to the one on northern Blvd on the other side of the neighborhood. Be warned, that store is much busier.
This one associate in particular, Shante, is beyond knowledgeable and amazing. She’s truly a valuable part of the team. I was so impressed with how she helped, as well as her two other coworkers. I’ve been coming here for a while now and I highly recommend this store. The staff here is so friendly and you’ll walk away happy.
I got an estimate for carpeting for my living room and dining room, which are not that big…it’s an apartment status size. The quote they gave me was for $2,100 and this didn’t include $150 they would charge for moving a small China cabinet, which of course had to be emptied. When I spoke with them and mentioned that I was not happy with the additional charge for moving an empty China cabinet…they said “No problem, your order had been canceled”. They truly act as if they don’t need the business.
Very unhappy with this home depot the isles were cluttered with Boxes and courts making it difficult to shop. After completing my shopping and going to the self check out there was numerous marks on the floor indicating the 6 distance I stood on one waiting to go next all the people were going in front of me the Employee that was assigned to this area Was not given any direction or involved in assisting customers to lineup in one location to orderly Enter the checkout station After this employee engaged me they had an attitude and made me very unhappy shopping at this Home depot. This home depot needs to train their employees properly and put up proper markings and ropes to make it less confusing for the checkout lines especially the self check out.
Great home depot with a full selection of anything youd need plus lots of extras.Service was actually decent, which is unusual for home depot. Stock boys were helpful in finding stuff and the sales people actually know something about the inventory.Definitely go, you wont be disappointed.
I dont know why I wasted my time here. I was sold the wrong product, when I came to return and get new product I was told its on the high shelves and needed someone else to come and help bring it down. So far I been waiting an hour and still counting I should have just went to the northern home depot much better place there
While the set up of the store is great I will never ever visit this specific location....had one of the worst experiences @ the self checkout.....my husband and I were profiled by the lady supervising the self check....we were purchasing a tool set which i had already scanned.....this women felt the need to come to us and tell us that this tool was not supposed to be in our cart....I explained to her that it was a sale item that we picked up from the display on the floor of the store....she refused to listen....proceeded to then rescan all of our items in our cart meanwhile there was a couple in the next line purchasing the same item and they were not told anything....she didnt go to their cart and rescan anything but felt the need to do it to us....I wonder why???.....smh.....do not visit this location... ishould have spoken to a manager but was sooo upset that I just to get out of there asap......train ur people properly home depot.....shame on u and her!
I dont understand why the staff leaves their post more than a half-hour early. I needed help to cut the plywood at 8:15 pm, but there was no one to help me. A guy told me, “He was on lunch break and might not come before 9 pm.” Lunch at 8 pm and he might not come back!? Please stop putting the sign “Out of order” when it is not. If anything, just say the last cut is at 8:30 or something. Store at northern blvd did the same thing, so; clearly, it cant be coincident, which I fell for it there (I got there at 7:50 pm). Thats when I spoke with the Customer Service desk, where Karen helped me out. I wouldnt have given five stars if it wasnt for Karen’s professionalism and remarkable assistance. We need people like Karen, who can provide the service we paid for. Thank you, Karen!
Home Depot needs to fix their inventory showing online vs. what’s actually in the store. I went to 4 Home Depot’s in a matter of hours looks for tiles. Even is you call their too lazy to actually do a physical check and will say whatever to get you off the phone. Super frustrating!
Anthony is the managerHe said that’s itIs like this is the new Normal in this store , employees. Like Mr. KhanKick my garage bags , I asked him,do they have 55 gallons bags , I called him to come help me , he said in AmericaPeople cut your hands , if you wave your hands to call someone. He makes excuses like , he showed me , 33 , 39 and 45 gallons, he didn’t wanna walk down to show me 55 gallons , he made it clear they are out of 55 gallons , when I found 55 gallons , he said those are for drums
Prices were cheap but the service was poor. Very people can seen who work there. When you happen to see someone they are extremely proficient at telling you its not there department. They will for an associateand then leave you hanging. You are on your own. Service is sacrafice for service.
The staff is extremely helpful, polite, and attentive. The selection is really nice and the prices are good, and you will likely save if you buy the big Tide, Clorox, Bounty, Charmin, and other big brand items than even BJ’s. The staff was very patient. My only complaint would be the lack of cashiers, and the awful automation displacing human jobs with the four self service machines alongside one cashier. Plant selection is nice.
I don’t use Home Depot as much as I did before but when I don’t find what I need in Bed Bath& Beyond or Lowe’s I always find it at Home Depot if there’s one in that area.At present time I needed beach chairs in August for Labor Day holiday for Jersey Shore. I didn’t want those collapsible ones that when you sit you can’t get up. You legs, stomach and butt are squeezed into the bottom of car, shaped like a boom a rang.Well went to BB&B they was $80 bucks for beach chairs made of wood and canvas.Hell no!!! Went to Home Depot got these fantastic collapsible chairs made of strong metal, seating position form and canvas material.... really beautiful and over-sized for $19.98 each. Thumbs up Home Depot. Also last week needed to get Rubber mate or plastic storage containers to clean out my storage space. Well I got really nice ones, with snap closure, long ones for $8.99.They always have what I need. This is a great store and what great service from the people who work there and walk around to ask if you need help. Again thumbs up.
I went to another Home Depot. But This Home Depot.I have to tell something about it.Pros:Ample of parking.Well organized.Few employees are helpful.Very convenient.Cons:Slow computer, belt does not work in cash register. When rain start employees put sand bag to cover door.Broken door,no shed nothing.
Normally Decent experience since I usually know what I need and where it is. If you need Customer Service There really isnt any. Im Autistic and I walk every where so side gate was open as always so I went in that way. I bought my paint and went to leave out same door with receipt in hand ready to show them they tried to tell me I couldnt leave out the open door even after showing them my receipt. I walked out the gate and they closed it. As they were closing it the employee picked up a softball sized rock and threw it at me. I then went and told him he didnt have any reason to throw Rocks at me he then spit on me. I returned his actions. He then chased after me and picked up a Glass Bottle and Threw it at me. Luckily he missed but when I went back in to tell the manager the manager seemed to think it was made up and just said he would look at the camera. Not Customer Service at all.
This Home Depot location provides a quieter shopping experience than either College Point location and customer service is friendlier here as well. Unfortunately, this is a smaller store than the others, meaning they will have less selection and inventory. However, it has a large parking lot and a more pleasant shopping experience, both of which a big reasons to check this location for your home improvement needs.
Very frustrating system they have in place when it comes to flow of people into the store and outdoor garden section. I understand with Covid, rules are in place to allow for less people in the store at once. That being said. I waited on the line to enter the store. I shopped in the store for almost 2 hours. I head to the garden section where a very lovely employee says she will hold my items while I take my empty cart into the garden section. If she wasnt there, I would have to leave my items right there. I get bags of soil outside and go to head back into the store, where Im directed back on the long line to enter the store.... where I waited already. So I just left my items and left. There needs to be a better system where the garden section is considered part of the store and you get to enter back into the actual building. Doesnt make sense. Ill be heading to the one on northern blvd next time.
Unique experience here - we got the wood we needed but it wouldnt scan so we got it for free, and were in the parking lot trying to cut it with our own saw before loading it up, when an employee, comes out and assists my husband just because, we were very touched and grateful! The extra help was much appreciated!! Thanks frank, thats above and beyond, and every store could use more employees like yourself! This store is lucky!! 👍👍
They have what you need, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR!! If you need help, that’s another issue. There are always people around but for some reason they never belong to “THAT DEPARTMENT”. Its amazing to see that every time I go there there is always someone asking for an associate in some isle.If you know what you want and know where it is. BOOM , the trip is amazing. The tellers are quick and the self service sections has someone there to help with any issues.
To buy the wood, I had to cut it into pieces. The issue was mainly that they have young adults trying to use a calculator and two associates try to figure out how to divide the cost of one piece of wood into 4. I had to help them because the wait was getting ridiculous.
Rude people working there!!Went to get some electric wires. They couldn’t get me anyone who works in that department, and once the lady came, she was hella rude, didn’t want to help and said we don’t have this wire; and the wire was right in front of my eyes!Oh yeah, 2 employees at the back were laughing at the situation.
Do-it-yourself home improvement projects do not appeal to me. Not in the least. However, I will say that visiting this Home Depot is a pretty painless experience. There is never a line to use the Self Checkout machines. Its relatively easy to locate a Home Depot team member, wherever you are in the store. The staff is friendly and tries to help you out.
The first home depot didnt have any 12 gauge wire in black they only the white wire, the 2nd home depot store didnt have the 12 gauge wire in white they only had the black wire, so I had to buy the black wire in the 2nd store and got back to the 1st home depot to get the white wire. This is what you call efficiency.
The store isnt bad, but the workers there are HORRIBLE.Trip 1: I wanted a plastic sheet, each time I asked a rep, they would send me to an isle across the store.Rep 1: what do you want to use it for?Me: for closet shelfRep 1: go to the shelf isleMe: but its not for shelving, I just want to use it for thatRep 1: go there, its thereRep 2: oh its in the molding isle, go to isle ##Rep 3: we have that all the way down the end, just walk straight and its on your rightI forgot what lies rep 4-6 told me but more misinformation.I would have appreciate it if they just told me the truth that they didnt know where it was. After the 6th time, I ended up looking for the product online and getting the location from there.Trip 2: Placed an order online for store pickup. My item was smudged up and dirty. The pick up rep told me what isle it was in. I go to the isle and ask a rep where this is. He tells me Oh we dont have it I kindly reply Yes the store has it in stock, I checked online He finally got off his fat ass to help. I wanted to tell him off for being a liar, but I just walked away with my replacement item.Too Long Didnt Read; store is full of lairs and lazy workers (majority)Lesson Learned: just find the product online, and get the isle location
Usually I dont mind coming to this location.... but today was a nightmareCame in to pick up some supplies to do a little spring cleaning... I understand that things would be running low...Didnt mind that at all... but here I am waiting to purchase a blind for a window... an have been waiting to be helped for over 20 minutes..the gentlemen who first came up to me told me that he would help the person who just came up to him.. me being in no hurry to get home an start spring cleaning had no trouble waiting but he took another customer b4 me an when I asked him nicely what happened he looked at me like I was bothering himHe told that he would call another worker to help me! I know thats its only one window blind.. but I have a problem with being played! SHOULD HAVE told me to find another person who would have helped me
You feel like a kid lost in the amusement park. Self check out is not self they almost always have to help you. The blind cutter was not working right had to look around for 5 minutes to get someone to call someone to help with blinds. We need an Ace Hardware here in Astoria they have no competition and dont care about the customers.
I couldnt find what I was looking for. I found The bucket but no tops. (Home Depot tread mark) There are hundreds of buckets but there are only two tops . Which is unproportional also I was trying to get help but workers over there seems they dont know much about the stuffs
If you own a house, the inner city Home Depots are mostly dumps run by what appears to be inexperienced APT. dwellers that know nothing about houses! One has to get as far away from the city as possible to find a real Home Depot whose employees live in houses! The difference is like day and night!I live in the city, but when I need to get a few things, I dont mind taking a ride to Farmingdale ( a real Home Depot)!!
Gordon from Lumber Dept is the best salesperson to ask for assistance. He was helping me to find Instant Waterproof Repair Tape, which was absent from its place on the shelf.GORDON checked every box from the ground level to the ceiling in aisle 17 and find it inside the closed box on upper shelf. He brought the heavy metal ladder from the opposite side of the store and machine to get unopened bunch of boxes from the top shelf. He spend tremendous amount of time helping me to find that repair tape. Gordon is very good worker and very well natured person. In other words – he is the one great professional, which makes you want to come to Home Depot of that location every time you need something. Thank you, Gordon!!!
This Home Depot is not as large as other HD due to size of store but most shopper wont notice except the small contractors. There are less room for building materials contractors require. For us regular shoppers they have 99% of what we need. The place is cleaner, service is better, workers are more helpful.
Just went in to this store to purchase some disposable gloves and paper towels. On my way to the register i noticed a husky 4 gallon wet/dry vacuum on sale. I was looking for a shopping cart and the lady Lores came to my rescue and brought me a shopping cart which was very kind of her. I am a happy customer and what more can I say.
I usually wouldnt review a place like this but I thought I had to do my due diligence. I had an issue that needed solving and I spoke with a gentleman whom well call G (for anonymity).I just have to say that he went above and beyond to help me find a solution to my problem. He took the time and walked me to and from multiple isles to come up with a solution. He really exhibited tons of patience and at no point in time was he annoyed at my questions or the amount of time it took to help me.I wish more people were like him and I hope his personality and mannerism permeates through their workforce. He deserves recognition and a raise!
Went to buy some thing worth less than $50 with the store credit. Store credit was under my wifes name and although I have the card and pin, they needed to see her ID. I asked her to send the ID. After I showed the ID on phone, the lady said she has to be present here. This is the biggest joke ever. She was concerned it could be someone else using store credit for $30 worth stuffs using a store gift card. So, I used my credit card and I asked her what if this credit card is someone else? Now you dont have to check ID? She replied if it is over $500, we need to show id. Lol.... this is hilarious... Anyway I bought the items online for store pickup with the giftcard and picked up. Why make customer life painful?
Its one of the best stores I have the privilege in shopping. The staff are very informative, always well attentive ;especially Ashely who should be commended for her knowledge and service; the special service desk in ordering merchandise .Im always satisfy with the service and promtness of the delivery.
Very poor, i would say root customer treating by Russell P. He almost cursed me out and didnt let me buy product that was on a shell, coz he said it shouldnt be there. But it was, and i wanted to buy it. Its not my problem he dudnt remove first thing in the morning. Time is 10:10 now. So he didnt do his job right and tried to blame me for it. Bad
My experience with a flooring sales assistant named Kathy was superb. My experience with another sales assistant named Ash was humiliating. He treated me poorly. I believe it was because I was a woman. I dont think Ash is consumer friendly. My money is as green as any means and I should be treated with respect.
This is our 1st encounter with the Home Depot in Elmhurst, bulova center. Cesar and his staff are awesome people and provide stupendous customer service and go out of their way for customer satisfaction! He stayed longer to help us find the right lights and at a great price. I really appreciate their help and would definitely recommend them!!!
Be aware this is a smaller Home Depot than others in Queens. This means they dont carry as many options as the other locations. This can be very frustrating when trying to get all of the supplies needed for certain projects. I found this out the hard way. If you are unsure I would call ahead and check if they have the items you need. For average home repair needs they are okay.
We had 8 shades that needed to be replaced and cut to size as each one is is sized differently. We have an old house and windows are not all the same. We brought all 8 of the old shades so they can measure and precisely cut to measure. This is not a fast undertaking. It requires patience and precision. We had a HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE AT the HOME DEPOT BULOVA LOCATION . They cut all of them wrong. 6 of the 8 were half an inch short. And we brought the original window shades for them to measure from. They are horrible and do not care what they produce. If they do not want to work there, they should leave and do something else. Seriously. They also told me while cutting them that we can’t come back and redo or return them. It’s like they know they will be returned because they PURPOSELY CUT THEM WRONG. We did go back and returned them and we were credited. The time we took to take down the old shades, label them, then bring to HD, and got home and tried to hang them and found they were all useless. What a major difference between what we got from Jorge on Home Depot on 23rd and the Bulova disaster Home Depot. Thank you Jorge on 23rd HD. All the shades are now hung and enjoyed.
I usually go to this location being the closest to my house. Just went there now to return something and the girl at the return station was super rude. I was met with the biggest attitude and no curtesy for the customer. Please be wary going here, most employees here are clueless and are clearly high on something. Some are very nice. Todays employee at returns was awful !!!
When I returned an item, they only gave me half credit. The computer indicated that the item was reduced in price and the cashier said that was the maximum I could be refunded even though I had the original receipt showing what I had paid.I would have taken a replacement but there were none left.
Went to one department looking for a toilet handle, I asked the tall gentleman who was stocking items in that row where I may locate the item and his words, right there on the right He was not too happy but thats ok I found what I needed after reading many packages and he stood near by.
The staff from hell. That is putting it mildly... They were not helpful nor knowledgeable. It seems they took this job out of desperation or to keep their benefits. The manager was no better. I called and complained. If you can avoid them do so. Never again. I would curse but Google would delete this.
Everything that you need for do it yourself repairs / projects. ..staff is somehow helpful, at least they try...but most of the times you hardly find anyone willing to help you...and when you finally find somebody, he doesnt work in that department. ...but, if you know what you need, this is the place to go.
Sorry this store is not customer friendly at all. I asked customer service about ordering a heated jacket from Milwaukee they had no clue and I asked for manager customer service person told me he is in the meeting no can do. Is this how Home Depot work so very sad anyone can contact me I’ll give more info.
At the Home Depot on Northern Blvd we were unable to find the lighting fixture we needed. We asked the first employee we could find. Friendly, helpful, and proactive, Akim tried to help us find the part we needed. It wasnt available at N. Blvd., but it was available at the East Elmhurst location where he usually worked. He called his twin brother Akeen, who was at the location, to let him know we were headed over. We found Akeen easily, and he was able to help us find the part. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience, and we were very grateful!
Very resourceful and helpful staff notably Trenese and Rich who helped look for an item and although it turned out not to be in stock called the nearest branch (I tried and not easy) and had them actually physically check for the item to be 100% sure it was in stock before I went to another branch.

2022-06-05Nearby is my home. Service is so bad. Customers are helpless. I wait in the plumbing aisle for 35 minutes and waited for help. No one shows up. I gave up. And wait outside for propose cylinder exchange waited another 30 minutes no one came up. Afterward, I called the cashier for an exchange.Staffs are very irresponsible. Not like another location.I think the manager/supervisor needs to step up for the smooth running of the store.

2022-05-28I just left Home Depot store# 6844. A gentleman named Khan in flooring helped me.I must say he was the most courteous, professional and helpful person Ive ever encountered in Home Depot. This was the most pleasant experience Ive had with Home Depot personnel.

2022-07-03Employee by the name of Khan, located in D-23 flooring, was a great help this evening. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Due to short staffing, Khan had to work three departments but he still managed to help us figure out our turfing needs. I give Khan 5 stars but 4 stars to Home Depot for short staffing. Thanks, Khan!

2022-02-23Ordered a Ryobi pump and in less than 1 hour at the Bulova location, they texted me with the code for the locker. Outstanding Performance 👍👍👍

2022-03-22Service here is down low no respect for customers. It’s almost like I made them employees uncomfortable for just asking them to help me find an electric plug. Four employees chatting at the main entrance. I had to go up to them almost had to force them to help me find something I was having hard time looking for. Robots and self service could have done much better job than those employees. Home depot is great but their employees not so much.

2022-03-04Somehow they lost my delivery I had sent to the store for pickup and I know they received it because Home Depot gives you the tracking #. Calling the store is a waste of time because whoever picks up the phone doesn’t care. So I went in. Shout out to the customer service girl who physically went and looked for it and even tried to see if she could give me one from the shelf. Had to call the main line and have it reordered because I really had no interest in dealing with any of those donkeys.

2022-02-13My apartment was broken into and I only had Apple Pay because my wallet was stolen and I was waiting for my cards to be sent by mail. I was purchasing new locks and security devices, as well as hardware to replace the damage to my apt. When they told me they didn’t take Apple Pay, they blatantly refused to even place the items I selected aside in store, so that I could go to my bank ATM to withdraw money using Apple Pay or come back that same evening to pay with my husband. I have never had an issue with any store holding on to items I was thinking about purchasing - I spent over an hour in this Home Depot deciding what to buy. Typically retail stores will allow you to hold items in store or place them aside for 24 hours before buying them. The service had no human decency about my situation and were incredibly rude to me, even laughing at me behind my back when I walked out of the store. Now it’s too late to go to another store and I’m terrified for my safety tonight because these Home Depot policies prohibited me from buying even a new door handle with a lock. I’ve been a Home Depot customer for many years, and I do not plan on returning after their complete disregard for the safety of their customers.
