The Home Depot in other cities:
Manager is horrible. Unprofessional. Very disappointed. They need to run their business correctly and with mature management, or just shut this location down because its a disgrace.Home Depots loss.spent and spend a lot of money here, now I will no longer return luckily there are other stores.I guess corporate doesnt actually care about their appearance to customers.Great mission statement! We dont care if you shop with us, or not! Pathetic.
Great employee working around where they sell Christmas tree’s at this location. The “Manager” however, who was quick to say nobody is above him and he oversaw the entire store, was less than helpful and is a testament to why people don’t like going to Home Depot. All we wanted was to know if there’d be any discount for a display tree since they sold out of it, and he made it seem as though helping customers was the last thing he wanted to do. Sorry bud, you’re in CUSTOMER SERVICE. Won’t return here, there’s better places with better prices.
It is what it is. Where are you keeping all the ridgid hand tools. Seems that the other name brand power tools must get the bigger exposure. Ridgid is the way to go. Lifetime warranty on everything along with free batteries for life. If your looking for that particular tool go check ridgid.com they will have it guaranteed. Dont waste your time. The store wont have it.
This is not my usual Home Depot, however, they were the only store in my vicinity that sold utility trailers. I have to say the customer service is top notch! I purchased a trailer that had scratches on the fender from the manufacturers delivery. The manager switched out the damaged fender with a good fender from another trailer. He did this while I completed the paperwork and I was on my way without delay. Great job!!
Went to buy a Christmas tree today. The tree I wanted was sold out. I offered to buy the display one of the worker was really helpful and offed to take $50 off. I asked to speak to the manager be cause it didn’t have a box. I spend a lot of money there every year running 3 big box gyms in the area. I could tell the manager was aggravated that he had to leave his office to help a customer. I asked for a $100 off and he told me $30 that I should’ve taken that. I tried explaining that I shop the all the time and told be 10%. Didn’t even want to at least listen to me… told him I’m going to Lowe’s and told me to go!
No one seem to give the same answer about fencing. I was told to order online instead. Ordered online and the supplies were delayed to the point they would arrive after my project was completed. Had to call to cancel the order and then go back in store to buy the same supplies out of pocket since my refund hasnt been issued for my cancelled order. In store they gave me bracketed fence posts which dont match the panels I purchased and cannot be used. Have to go get the correct posts now and rent a Uhaul in order to get the supplies to my house. This Home Depot has done nothing but waste my time and money.
I went to this Home Depot to purchase a toolbox for my garage. The one I had picked out was of modest size and weighed about 120lbs. I struggled to get the box onto the flatbed cart I had. 2 employees were standing nearby gossiping about who they were dating rather than asking if I needed assistance. Once it was loaded up I went to the self checkout. When I got there, the gentleman who was an assistant for the checkout lane remembered to ask me if I wanted to sign up for their credit card but offered no help to load the box into my car. It took me longer to load the box onto the cart and into my car than the entire trip to and from this store would take. Very very disappointed in the sheer lack of customer service I experienced here. Even one of their big box competitors will offer to help at least load something into your car. It mostly bothers me that 2 employees stood there knowing I was struggling and never once offered any kind of assistance.
No one was there to ask questions to, when I finally found someone, the item I wanted had to be delivered... and I would have to pay for the delivery fees.. thats outrageous, I spent my time to go and to the store, use my own gas to get to the store, they dont have the item they said they had.. then I would have had to pay for delivery charge for the item when I got it?? Ridiculous
Never anyone around to help me with my questions. Spent $200 dollars and expected ONE person would be available for putting that much money into my trip. Plants I bought were dry and I needed to jump on that as soon as I got home.Paint department had 4 people in it but not one would come out and help me find the items I needed they were too busy chatting amongst themselves. One register open so I had to use self checkout. Again for a lot of money spent I expect at least some customer service and a cashier.
Employees are really nice here. The warehouse is organized. I dont normally come here because its far away from my house but this product was the only one that was available near me so thats why I came here. Im glad I did too because its a really nice place. Great job
I cant believe the incompetence of this company. In the beginning of May I ordered three new appliances for my kitchen renovation, new refrigerator, double oven and dishwasher. One of the items was backordered so I requested they hold all items so they could be delivered at once. Mid-July I get an email saying my order would be delivered the following week. The delivery guy looked around my kitchen and asked if I was having the dishwasher installed. I told him I had paid for installation and then he told me he was having a rough day and one of his crew had quit and he wouldnt be able to install the dishwasher. Told me Id have to call to reschedule the install. The following week two more guys came out to do the install and they told me they couldnt do it because I had a leaky valve under my sink. Called my plumber to fix the leak and called to have the install rescheduled for the third time. This morning two men came and told me they cant install the dishwasher because I have a garbage disposal. I just cant believe this. A garbage disposal is not a rare thing... Nobody could have mentioned this sooner? Also Ive had two dishwashers installed by Lowes over the 25+years Ive lived here and never had a problem before. I have an account at Lowes and usually do most of my purchasing for my home from them. I only purchased this time from Home Depot because of their sale prices but with all the plumbing costs Im incurring, plus the two days Ive already had to be available Im not saving much in the long run. Lesson learned, Ill be giving Lowes my business in the future.
Home Depot is a good company that youll find almost anything you need to take care of your home. But be careful I have found the same product or equal a lot of times cheaper at Lowes. The nice thing that is they do accept a military discount which in my opinion any company in America that doesnt give the military a discount should be ashamed of themselves.
We ordered a patio set online and it came from this store. We received a delivery alert but it was never delivered. We called numerous times, were on hold forever, and promised numerous times that it was being worked on and that we would receive a call back. After days of trying to find out what happened with no answers from the store manager, we had to cancel the purchase by calling the credit card we used because the store manager refused to give us a return or refund even after acknowledging that the drivers didnt follow protocol by taking a picture when they supposedly delivered our patio set. I understand that things happen, but the lack of customer care and what seems to be a standard of lying and blowing off the customer is absolutely disgusting. Worst experience ever. Strongly suggest using any other store
After 2 deliveries that were NOT delivered to my house and hours upon hours of time spent on the phone, about a month later I got my refund. Shouldve been a simple fix. I got notice that my order was delivered but nothing. Called and expected apologies or a refund. Eventually they offered a redelivery. Again, the product never showed up. Called multiple times with no answers and no call backs. It took us calling corporate to get a refund. Ive never experienced such terrible customer service. Dont waste your time with these fools!
I had an amazing experience at this store!! I wish I wrote down names of those who helped me but the ladies at the paint department matched both colors I needed (one of them from my phone) and helped me pick out brushes, at self checkout the woman running around cleaning everything was very kind and hard working, the gentleman watching over self checkout grabbed me a cart because I always think I can carry everything and another gentleman came to my car and took my cart away for me!!! I left feeling very special, thank you Home Depot Schenectady!! You guys are freaking awesome:)
We were greeted upon entry by a friendly associate. A few minutes later an associate asked if we need any help. The store itself is clean, tidy, and very well organized. The signage is excellent! And the store is very well lit! I was able to find exactly what I needed easily. Check out was quick and easy. I highly recommend this store!
I will give them 3 stars just because of their prices and availability of products, if it was just based on customer service it would be 1 star because you can not go any lower. We were looking at grills and most did not have pricing so my wife went in to customer service to get a price and was told she needed a sku to tell her,out my wife came again their were no Sku on the grills, back to customer service again well I need a Sku replied the Customer Service rep stated. So we looked around the store and ended up finding another grill that had the Sku on it and purchased the grill. We went outside to wait for an associate to come out and unlock the grill for us. So I went to get the vehicle and came to the front of the store and their was my wife standing there by herself with the unlocked grill. They did not even offer a hand this is actually the worst customer service I have ever seen.
Pretty quick service. From the time I submitted my order (HomeDepot app) until I received a text message saying my purchase was ready for pick up was about 45 minutes. I would have given this visit 5 stars but the curb-side pick up was not available. As a disabled Vet it took a toll on me. Not their fault...could have been staffing issues.
I honestly believe this has to be the worst Home Depot west of the Mississippi. The staff is poorly trained and incompetent of answering the simplest of questions. I have found them to be unprofessional without a care for the customers needs.Tip from a very long time (ex) customer: go to Lowe’s in Niskayuna or another Home Depot.
I ordered a snow blower. We got it and it got delivered almost after 20 days of ordering. When we assembled it, it turned out that the unit was faulty and would not move forward. We wanted to return it but Home Depot would only have an exchange because it has 30 days policy for snow blowers even if they are delivered late 🙄. We ordered online because we did not have a truck to get it home. And now Home Depot wanted us to take it to the store. So now we had to rent a truck, load it in and then take it to the store and Home Depot asked us to take a packed unit even though they said over the phone they have unit ready to take home. Anyways, they assembled another one for me while I waited at the store, and I took it home. I got my entire day wasted, paid money for rental truck from Home Depot all for the fault of the manufacturer. Extremely disappointed in both Toro and Home Depot.
I was looking for trim. I knew what I wanted, but I didnt see it where it was supposed to be. I walked up and down the aisle several times, moving other moldings around to see if I could find a piece under other pieces.A group of 3 employees were standing around the registers, talking and watching me. After finding a piece I needed, I walked over to the cutting table, which was left in the aisle WITH 2 SAWS laid on top. I picked up one of the hand saws to cut a piece of trim. I turned to look at the employees who were still standing there talking and watching. None of them moved.I set everything down I was going to buy, including the trim, and walked out. Im now at Lowes and will find the help I need to get the trim I need.
Store not enforcing mask policy. Online order partially canceled due to lack of stock. However, I went in and picked the canceled items off the shelf. Plenty there. Also took quite a while to get a pick up date. If you must shop at Home Depot, try another store that enforces their mask policy and go in and pick your items, or be prepared to wait a week or so.
I have a love/hate relationship with Home Depot. I love that the staff is always very friendly & knowledgeable and that they always have what I need. I hate that I always buy stuff that I dont need because they just have so much and you never know when youre going to need a random tool that you just happened to pick up there lol (thats my excuse anyway for buying random stuff).
Almost every experiencehere has been awful. The staff is extremelyrude and unhelpful. I placed an online order for two things. The first one was cancelled as they couldnt find it in stock even though obline it has 15 in stocks and the second thing was paint. The paint order was fufilled but... it was black when I had ordered white. I decided to look for the first thing my self, blinds, and ended up finding all 3 that I needed. On a separate occasion I was looking for something else and the guy in charge of that area, Dan, was extremely rude and unhelpful.
Although it was a while back I did purchase wall to wall carpet from Home Depot. I am pleased with the carpet and the installation. Its holding up well and looks great. Also it was done at a reasonable price. As far as the store is concerned, it has handicapped parking and entrance. Theres restrooms in the rear of the store. The staff was friendly and polite. Ordering was fairly easy. Overall a good experience.
I gave a 4-star rating because I have no problem with Home Depot on its own its the carpeting installers that I have an issue with. My girlfriend and I had to move into our new apartment late because we were told that the carpet installers were going to be there to redo the carpet they ended up redoing the carpet a month-and-a-half later than they told us they were going to, showed up at 7 in the morning and while redoing our carpet broke my my dresser when they were moving it back into position and left several large Staples sticking up where the carpet meets the tile so anyone who steps in that area is going to get their foot impaled on Staples that they cant see but will definitely stab into your skin
I have never felt so disrespected as I have at this store. They posted a price of a tool rental online and said it was in stock. In person, they claimed to only have the larger model and would not honor the lower price. They claimed no manager was available to speak to me. After telling me the return date was 10PM, the following day, I returned the tool at 8PM and they proceeded to charge me for an entire additional day. I again asked to speak to a manager, and was again told the manager was not there. But I was assured the manager would call me back and no charges would go through until they did.Im sure you can guess the rest of the story. I never received a call, and my card was charged full price despite me expressly not giving them permission to charge it again and never presenting it to them in store at that point of sale.I have gone to many Home Depot, religiously, for decades for all my home improvement materials.I guess its time I get a Lowes membership.
The store experience is so much better when you use the phone app. It tells you the exact location of every item. My recommendation is shop through the app and fill up your cart, then go to the store and use the app as your shopping list to locate every item. I just wish they put the item location details in the shopping cart. That would make it even better.
As someone who frequents Home Depot. You’re better off at other locations of theirs. Had a few poor customer service issues here. Left today being told I couldn’t return an item, only to be informed at the Latham location that it was absolutely okay to return it and they gladly helped me out.
If there was one in glenville Id give them a 4. They always have more then the glenville lowes . One thing I have a hard time with is understanding the employees language. I speak.english so getting help and understanding is time consuming. Just do your homework prior.
I really want to love this Home Depot because its in a convenient location but the truth is I just dont. I actually shop here quite often and every time Im underwhelmed. My biggest issue has to be the outdoor gardening section. The plants here are extremely under cared for. They dont have an automatic watering system for them and its clear that they arent getting enough care. Most of them are dead or knocked over. Its truly a sad site. Disregard for nature, fruit trees and vegetable plants as well knocked over and burnt up. I mean I completely understand that we are in the middle of a global pandemic right now so many companies have amuch smaller staff currently. But why order so many plants then?? Order the amount you need and then order more when you sell them or pay to have a watering system installed! Okay rant over about the plants (Ill have to come back and upload some pictures so you can truly see the extent of the issue here though its significant). Another issue is that the store is full of employees however we can never seem to find anyone to help. We were trying to purchase a home security system from them and couldnt find a single person that would stop what they were doing and help us find them. We tried to find them on our own before asking ofcourse. Come to find out they are locked up at the front of the store that isnt visible to customers (completely understand the reasoning behind that seeing as they are so expensive) which is why we couldnt find them! Bought the cameras for about $500 total (very happy with the purchase by the way) but not even a week later they went on sale for less than 50% off!! We called and customer service said we could get a refund of the difference which was awesome because we needed security mounts anyways for the cameras but when we got there they couldnt refund us the difference without us repurchasing the security system. We ended up having around $750 tied up in this system for roughly a week before we seen the refund of the original price. Then to make it worse we found out while there that the warranty we purchased with the system needed to be activated by calling a number that noone seemed to know. When I specifically asked that question when we purchased it. If we hadnt of went back for the price adjustment we would have bought it in vain. Still in the process by the way of figuring out how the warranty sign up goes. Loved the cameras so much we bought another set but went to Lowes instead (got a military discount there actually!)
Placed an order at 10am. According to the website it should take about 2 hours for in store pickup. After calling 5 hours later to check my status of my order, the lady that answered was rude. I stated why I was calling and her response was what car do you drive. After explaining that I did not receive a notification to pick up and wanted to see the status she repeated herself and told me she dont know and didnt know what to tell me. She then hung up the phone as I was responding. I immediately called the store and asked to speak with a manager. He looked up my order and told me he would take care of it and have them have my order ready in 30 minutes. An associate immediately called me after I spoke with him and told me she had damaged product and no one was around to get the tile from the rafters and that my order would be ready maybe in 2 hours. I stated that the manager gave you guys 30 minutes since Ive been waiting now going on 6 hours. I called back 2 hours later and my order still wasnt ready. After calling 5 times in a row since an associate wanted to keep putting me on hold and not doing her job I finally got ahold of another rep who told me it was ready. This has been the worst customer service experience. Dont post guidelines about 2 hour windows if you cant uphold your end of the bargain. Also your associate hanging up on paying customers should be fired if she doesnt like her job.
I usually dread going to hardware stores because I feel like I aimlessly wander looking for someone willing to help me, only to be greeted with overworked miserable employees. Let me just say...Mike in the lumber section helped us find the best piece of lumber. He was extremely helpful, willing to cut as many pieces as we wanted, and made the experience worth it. We actually picked home depot over lowes for a better vibe and Mike was awesome! Home depot should allow tips though because his service was above and beyond. Thank you Mike!
I have visited this store three times this week. As a new home owner, and a curious person, I couldnt believe how helpful and friendly the staff were. I had to be guided through the stores layout as it is much different from other Home Depot layouts. I also had multiple employees volunteer their help to guide me to the product I was searching for (as I have yet to know the store).Today I had to purchase a wet/dry vac and its accessories thanks to some minor flooding in my basement. Once I got home I discovered on e of the attachments I bought was the wrong size (a size I could not have known without looking at the manual). So, I brought the manual and the attachment back to exchange it for the proper size. The entire customer service area was in what seemed to be melee. Employees were advising customers that the return system was not responding, and that they were looking into it (as they obviously were). At least three employees were actively manning the returns counter during this time. One woman, I could tell, was unfortunately in the middle of a return when the system had crashed. The employees were handling the situation splendidly, as were the obviously dismayed customers. I just had a simple exchange, and even though their system was down, and I lost a dollar on the transaction, I was MORE than happy to be getting the piece that FIT my vac.Im more than pleased with this store as it has delighted me thus far. I am proud to shop there and will keep my business with them as they are truly a remarkable team.
Awesome as Always! Was in and out quickly, I didnt need ANY help today! Although they Really Should have All Bugs (from creepy crawlies and flying) and Animal/ Rodent Sprays ALL YEAR LONG!! Specially NOW this is when they want to come in AND/Or Eat Your Veggies or Both lol!! For Inside and Outside! With All the trees and houses so close really Need Sprays ALL yr long!! They only had cheap stuff hope it works!!😁😍❤
At the end of last season I purchased 2 Waterworks contractor grade garden houses. 5/8 x 100 feet. I started using one this spring and both connecting ends broke. I tried repairing the ends myself but decided to return the broken used hose and the new unused hose. The returns clerk ask for the receipt or scan the card I used. Nothing came up in the system and the SKU on the new hose was not in the system. This is unusual because the , Home Depot continues to sell the product. I just wanted to return the 2 inferior products for credit and purchase better more expensive garden houses. I will go to another hardware store and purchase the replacement parts an HASTA LA VISTA HOME DEPOT. No more money from me spent in your stores. I do have plenty of other. Options I did offer to get the product off the shelf so they could compare. No was the response.
Customer service is awful! Went in for pvc pipe. They advertise that they can cut what you need. So, one of the employees came over to help me. Then David shows up to inform me that they dont cut all that for anyone. Then David informed me that I should buy the tool to cut it at home. David says the tool is ONLY $10, however, its $13.98 at the register. He kept questioning me on what I was building and then stated he needed to see a picture in order to figure out what i needed. I had a list of supplies I needed and did not request his assistance yet he persisted. I felt as though I were bothering him and that asking him for his assistance was simply too much effort for him to put forth. I was highly disappointed with the service I received and Ill be taking my business to Lowes in the future.
The 🛍 was ok but someone broke the mirror off the left side of my 1996 Cadillac Seville SLS when I was shopping. I think it was the dippy cart guy. I had asked him what time they closed as I trotted on my way in and he ignored me at first from 6 feet away. There were only a hand full of cars in the lot at 10 till 9 and I parked away from them. This happened at Store 1139 in Schenectady NY. Is there a lot of this going on? Thanks Joe.
After 6 weeks they still cant seem to get bird food ,liquid miracle grow and many other items in stock that you can get just about everywhere else. How does Price Rite-a grocery store across the street have a skid of bird food in their aisle but they cant? And on top of that no one seems to care or were helpful
Do not waste your money at this store. I had a very bad experience with this store again and again. Older man with light hair in paint department and Guyanese woman in Lighting were very rude, lazy and disrespectful. I just needed an item it showed they had in stock and after much time researching it I came to the store and the shelf was empty when the on-hands showed 7 in stock and the man in paint said it’s not my department and I know who’s hard it is to find help here, said I have stock in Company, really then he sure doesn’t show any individual effort to help the stock, what a Moran. Left store and I’m done with Depot after spending tens of thousands over the years. Horrible and zero customer service
Every time I do an online order there is a problem place an order the other day call to make sure that it was ready this morning and waited 3 hours for them to pull 15 2 by 4 by twelves store manager says if Ill pick up the order within an hour they put it back and you become last on list. Schenectady home depot needs a complete management change most incompetent group around I will be doing my shopping at lowes
The store is going downhill. I went in at 9:00 last night. I was looking for a item. All the workers were looking at their phones couldn’t care less about the customers. I felt I would be bothering them so I left and went to Lowe’s . The music was blaring with Hispanic music, which is fine if you were the only people in the store, but be respectful. I’m Italian American, maybe I would like Italy music playing, someone else may be Irish or German or Polish and would like their music playing, keep it simple, or shut it off. Don’t just cater to one class of people, no matter who you are. This store is heading downward fast.
Better they are rescheduling our order thank u hopefully this goes through it was our fault we accidently hit old adress townUpdate still haven’t gotten our appliances they said they delivered tried to my momNever here a knock at the door and I think they didn’t approve the adress change or something it’s been two times update it was my family lol was upstairs didn’t here the bell I was bitchin for nothing not Home Depot’s fault ours we have to rescheduleA third time oh well forgiveUs homeDepot great for putting up with customers like us lol
This is the worst Home Depot I have ever been to on more than one occasion. Save time and a hassle, visit a different store if you value your time. They consistently do not have stock in place and you have to wait for them to pull it. The customer service is also terrible, and they are clueless about their respective departments. Do yourself a favor and go to any other store in the area, its amazing this home depot is still in business. Good luck!
Curb side pick up is technically available but in practicality they are not fulfilling the orders. Waited two days with no contact the order was ready. When I called I was shuffled around with no answer. I finally just canceled the order and will buy from locally owned.
I was coerced into signing up with their credit card when I was at the checkout with a line of people behind me. Months later I received a bill with numerous charges on it with late fees. I get calls early in the morning to which I dont answer because I had sent in a check for the amount I was quoted. Ive taken my business elsewhere after all the hastle Ive had dealing with them.
I was previously a HD addict but after relocating to this area this store has soured my experience. While there are some wonderful Associates here most of the contractors and management negate their hard word. This started when we started the process for new counters to be told by the HD constructor It isnt worth my time and this was fine by the store and met with a shrug. Finally after a botched attempt for flooring and more apathy from management that will be my final visit to HD.
Purchased all new kitchen appliances, new ge refrigerator, oven, dish washer and microwave. Appliances delivered damaged except stove. Refrigerator scratched, dishwasher scratched and the microwave doesnt even work! It wont shut off. Spoke to the manager dean who lied right through his teeth telling me it would all be fixed today. New fridge door, new microwave and a new dishwasher. Well here we are today supposed to only get a new microwave.. Dish washer maybe next week? Maybe the door too? Some other company is calling telling me they want to pick up the dish washer without bringing me a new one?? Called dean four times yesterday left messages.. No returned calls and he was there until 7. Spoke with store manager Brett was supposed to call me back this morning.. No calls. What a place to go spend over 3000 dollars and get absolutely 0 customer service. They act like k am the hassle. Who is going to pay for all the days of work I have to miss to be there during a 4 hour window for deliver. Absolute crap. I dont know how a place like this stays in business. Avoid this store at all costs, they dont care a bit about there customers!!
They post a few employees at the automated registers without having an employee at a regular register. While I dont always mind going to the automated registers I dont believe you should be obligated to go to one. At least in other home depots I have been to where theyve done this the employee posted at the automated register at least greets you and pays attention to whether youre experiencing issues with a machine. This monitor was far more interested in chatting with her friend. The jobs pretty easy, at least pretend to feign interest for a few seconds when someone shows up. This is a repeated experience Ive had at this particular home Depot that I dont experience at other ones. All that being said the store was clean and very well maintained and regularly appears that way.
I love Home Depot. I checked online that the material I needed to buy was in stock. Website said 56 pieces, aisle 18, Bay three. I get there there is indeed material in Bay 3, but not the right size. I go to customer service desk, less than one minute later a helpful smiling face asks me how they can help me. They start to walk over to Lumber with me and hand me off to another smiling face, even bigger smile this time, who brings me to the lumber aisle says youre right thats not 6 inches wide. They find someone who works in Lumber he finds a whole pallet of material uses one of those big electric Fork trucks brings it to bay 3, helps me load it to my cart and in minutes Im home and a very satisfied customer.
The gentleman who was helping us with stove and fridge was great! The guy it tool department has no clue on what hes talking about and no knowledge on tools! Tells me a couple certain that I was looking at would not do the job I needed it for trying to get me to buy another tool that I know that would not work in the application of what I needed it for! So dont go there to buy tools! These people never worked in construction at all in there lives. And he was very arrogant and rude!
The Worst customer service ever. I chatted online with their customers service rep to see if they price matched appliances, she stated that they did as long as it was from a box store ie;( Lowes, Sears, so on). I went to this location and dealt with an older women that was rude and would not price match even though I showed her the message from their own rep. Then I settle for a different brand and color, they state you will get a call the day before (which I did), as well as a call a half hour prior to delivery, (which I did not get). They called as they were already at my home and leaving a note on my door. Frustrating to say the least. After all this, I get home from work and find my dryer has no legs so its not balanced, my washer has a huge dent in the side panel and I have to take more time off work for them to fix the damage they caused.Go to Lowes or Marcellas... Save yourself the HUGE headache...
Terrible service. We got stuck in the store for over two hours because they lost a package we ordered AND confirmed they had before driving all the way there (another two hours) just to find out they lost it. Two issues: One, the girl that answered never actually looked for the package. Two, instead of actually feeling bad for the situation all we saw was nothing but attitude as if it were our fault. The best part? We called corporate from the parking lot, they also didnt care. Gone are the days of real customer service.
Ive recently begun shopping at The Home Depot. Whether its batteries, blinds, or some other household item, they seem to have just about everything. The store is expansive, but despite its imposing size, it is well laid out and things are not difficult to find. If help or assistance are needed, the store associates are close by to render assistance. I find The Home Depot truly amazing. Simply put, shopping at The Home Depot is a fun experience.
I went to the Albany Home Depot hoping they would have house plants, and they did, which surprised me as its summertime and the focus, I thought, would be on outdoor gardening. I know nothing about house plants but I did have a list of about 9 that would be non-toxic to my cat if she decided to have one for lunch. There was a central district manager in the section at the time, (he said he didnt work only in the Albany store; not sure if Ive got his title correct), so he must have had alot to do, but he still took 10-15 minutes out of his day to teach me about plants and answer my questions. He was very nice and I felt comfortable around him. I ended up bringing home a money tree plant, which I love, and it is thriving, thanks to the information this man gave me about how to take care of it, and partly because Ive cat-proofed it. LOL. I do wish I had gotten the name of the individual who helped me because I would have liked to have given him, more specifically, the credit for my high rating here. The Home Depot is a big place and his customer service, in particular, is the main reason I give the Albany Home Depot a 5 star rating.
Home Depot stock is doing well...but any HD employee that is not, “what can we sell you next”’ is met with rudeness, snarky behavior and coordinated attempts not to help. Senior HD staff may apologize but their corporate culture is sell first, help third, fourth, last. I would just assume they just advertise, tell you the fact that “we have set up a corporate/store system to sell the next product but don’t return anything, don’t come to us with a purchased product problem because it’s not our responsibility.” Home Depot, “you’re right, it’s not your responsibility, it’s every one else’s in the world.” That’s a great Corporate/store attitude to have. That way you can get away with what ever you want and make more money. Bravo!
HD must have a renewed interest in providing superior customer service. For each of the past two visits to the Schenectady store, multiple people asked if they could help me find something. They are really starting to stand out from their major competitor when it comes to being helpful and respecting the value of my time.
The worst experience Ive ever had at a home depot, period.Made a PRO order, and showed up to pick it up, but no one was there. Asked for help and they said no one was there and they kept walking offering no other assistance. When asked someone else about help, they pointed me to customer service, who after waiting 20 minutes to get through, gave me a look that this was a PRO issue, and stopped there. I asked again what I do when i actually need it now, and they told us to pick our own order and then get back in line.Customer service here was enough to warrant making a longer drive to another store! Someone needs to coach everyone here in customer service.
Just an FYI if you pay with cash hold on to your receipt cause there is a big chance you cant return it for store credit. Tried to return so extra tile and got rejected. Never had an issue returning things to any store without a receipt, all I want is store credit. If I shop at the store I will always shop there. Dont plan on shopping at a Home Depot anymore.
This store does not have good management left hand dont know right hand if you order online delivery order they dont deliver on time and they tell you one thing and do another so you wait after you pay 79.00 for delivery, this place is a joke, and the district manager should be on top of this mess, spent alot of money there and you get lousy service will not order online ever again, buyer beware its a mess there! sad that it is such a hassle to get your product delivered, they blame covid on it but in reality they deliver outside of home and there is no contact with delivery people!!!!
Memorial Day Weekend very good experience my Wife and I picked up a Hanging Basket of Geraniums, and also a few single geraniums. We also purchased a potted Dalia and it is Beautiful. I also picked up some lawn Fertilizer. I have also liked Home Depot on Cambridge Ave. in Schenectady. I will be going back. I Recommend this place to shop.
FYI VETERANS. My husband recently made a large purchase at local home depot. He handed cashier discharge papers and license and was told he needed a specific veterans card to be eligible for veterans discount.( we have used this discount multiple times in the past) When he questioned it he was told new management was insisting on new card to be presented before discount is given. He did not follow through with purchase
This store has poor service about 75% of the time their employees are polite but not helpful. The inventory and over all organization of the store are also sub par. I am a contractor and have traveled extensively for work I have visited 40 plus other Home Depot locations and never had the bad experiences that I continually have at this location. You are better off driving to another location to save yourself the hassle and disappointment.
Placed and online order for same day pickup, after 2 days i called (took 25 min to get someone in the store on the phone ) and they said its ready well great, im glad theres a way i could know that since you havent updated the status online. Rude man answered the phone, didnt announce himself, less than helpful.
Often lacking most of the common things I need. Aisles are always a mess with my last visit having grills and lawnmowers completely clogging the lighting isle. Plywood is almost always busted up too with stock that does not even match what the online says is present.
1239 store is a hot mess, even compared to other local stores. For a while I went the other direction, to 1241 in Albany.. Not so much any more. Btw: I used to do $20k+/ year, THD was my home away from home,. now I do everything I can to go elsewhere and go there only the absolute last resort. Sad. And ps/ oh btw: yeah - this was even before covid-19, so you cannot blame it on that. They are understaffed, its this its that,. Now its the supply chain. That is all B.S. as it is ((and has been)) always something!
I usually goto Lowes (experience much better service), but home depot had the same product in-stock. I paid online my wife went to the store to pick it up. They gave her an open boxed item, that was sealed up again. The associate assured her it was ok. When I opened at our house product was dented, and missing a ton of parts. Why did they even place it back in inventory...i dont know
Excellent online pickup service, ftom notification to price, to staff. I actual noticed the name of the staff person from onlne pickup. SALINA . She is knowledgeable, professional, friendly, a true dedicated employee.I also went and purchased additional I forgot about when I was there.
Awful service! I visited 2 Home Depot stores this afternoon after calling each of the offices to verify a trailer was in stock. When I visited the first store I was notified the trailer was already sold weeks ago. When I visited the 2nd store I waited 20 minutes for an associate and then was notified the trailer was not inspected and could not be sold. 3 hours of my day wasted!
This is a really badly run Home Depot. Avoid this store. Go to Lowes or a different Home Depot. Sale items are not marked. The shelves are always a mess. I have managed to not shop here for quite a while and decided to give it another chance. It was a little better but still a waste of my time.
Dont expect help in most departments on weekends, I waited 40 minutes for somebody to cut some plywood. Even after being paged 3 times by the service desk and asking several employees, nobody came over so I left without purchasing anything. On two occasions I was given a refund in the form of only store credit even with valid receipt. Lousy company.
When a cashier asks me to do their job, it rubs me the wrong way. The cashier asked me to go back to the area where I got the 4×4s from, I put my foot down and advised that if home depot cant put pricing on their products, and you ask me to rectify it.... ahhhhhhhh?????!!!!
Horribledidnt have anything I was looking forHome Depot used to be the bestI found ALL I needed at Ace hardwareGo back to your old product list and stop discontinuing thing that work.Tool rentals are TOO highIm only giving the 1 star because you have to put something
Very disappointing visit. Went in for concrete mix and trowels. Looked inside the store, could not find it. I asked a very nice lady, hence the 2 stars, she told me it was in Home and Garden. Odd. I found it and also found dirty, rusty, weathered trowels and you guessed it...rock hard concrete mix. FAIL
The lady in pro Customer desk. she’s so very rude Unprofessional in dealing customers.me and my husband get our order online pick up for two toilet set just this evening at 8pm.as we go out the store she just yelled us by shouting hey let me check your receipts.very offensive and I felt very embarrassed to other people inside the store they looking at us as if we’re stealing.she should’ve ask politely.very racist.
Congratulations, 2 keys for about 2 dollars a piece cost you a lot of money in repeat business for a long while. Waited 10-15 min. with 2 different announcements on the PA system that people needed help in making keys in aisle 12. This was at 7pm on a Saturday. Ended up walking away without any service.
Took forever to get any help when i was looking for a item that wasnt on the shelf that they said they had in stock on there website acouple weeks before the person who helped me with paint sold me double the amount of paint i needed they took it back without too much of a problem
Pretty bad you cant find anyone to help you because they are all up front on there cell phones we asked someone at cust service were a product was her answer to us was well if its not down there then i dont know were it is thats. Just great a response like that maybe someone should check on there employees more often
I dont understand why the employees cant clean the isles or the shelves or the bathroom or anything for that matter. This place is a complete dump. And the employees have no idea what the hell they are talking about. The district manager needs to clean house for real. Clean the place up

2022-06-05Anthony in the Schenectady paint department is knowledgeable kind helpful and goes out of his way to help. He had five things going on and had zero frustration. Home Depot is lucky to have him. Honestly best employee I’ve ever dealt with at any depot!

2022-05-17My family and I have used home Depot since they opened. We have since found their policies intolerable. Especially since most people want a nice home. 29 percent interest rates! Very limited extended credit and no higher balance approvals! Boo! We havent even been able to repair our farm for the first time in thirty years because we can no longer work with home Depot. Its a sad day for an Italian from Colts Neck NJ.

2022-04-05Normally this place has experienced personnel but with Covid apparently some have left & replaced with other inexperienced or uninterested personnel. I asked a man for help 🥺 & he said go up front. I went up front & asked for help & the same guy 😖came & told them to call someone else. Home Depot did have a new hired employee (3 wks) that was excellent. He was waking by & saw us struggling so he volunteered to help go through the wood looking for good pieces. Then he went the extra mile & helped us up to the cashier & then to the car to load! Good reprieve. ❤️

2022-06-12Don’t do curbside pickup here unless you like waiting so long that you’re forced to go into the store anyway. This has happened EVERY TIME I’ve tried it!! And the worst part is seeing multiple employees outside doing NOTHING

2018-09-02Home Depot is my one and only go to place for repair and DIY project supplies and equipment. They have a large selection of just about anything you need. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I do a lot of projects where I am creating hardware pieces for unusual applications and the are really helpful. I highly recommend Home Depot to anyone. 2022-04-15These employee at the checkout needs to pay attention. I asked for a product to be shipped to my house and they placed it for a pick up. I had to pay someone to pick up my order and they gave me a displayed item because they couldnt have my order ready. And the order was not in proper condition.

2022-05-24I visited this store to get Andersen Gliding Patio Door Handle. They don’t have it in the stock but they will call the manufacturer for the part. He took my information in the rough paper and told me he will call back on Monday. I doubt they even serious about my issue. Don’t trust when they say they will call back with details.

2022-02-21Helpful staff. Did not carry the item I wanted. Bird infestation is so heavy that there is birdseed all over the floor in the birdseed section. It seems the birds have ripped open the bags at the top of the shelves. Click like if helpful.
