We love this Home Depot. Angie helped me find Rejuvenate floor polish and a snake for the bathroom. She was informed and nice-my 2 favorite attributes. Liz & Muhammad helped me at the register. They were instrumental in saving me $25 off of my total purchase by guiding me through the credit card application. Another great shopping experience 😊
DO NOT order your carpet from home depot. they sub contract it US Installations Group who is terrible. they ruined my brand new furniture while installing my carpet. when i contacted home depot selden, they told me its not their problem that i have to deal with the US installations group. so i tried and they dont answer their phones or call people back. feels like a scam and shame on home depot selden. i will never be shopping in a home depot again after costing me thousands of dollars. i am currently taking further action against us installation group.
The store was very shaken up and there was a lot going on. I left my tools by the counter to help a lady that was a little distraught. While I was gone Teresa was nice enough to place my tools off to the side so nothing happened to them. When I returned she helped me with the purchase and was very very considerate. Class A employee and I strongly recommend she gets a raise! God bless and god speed Teresa ! Your doing great
My daughter purchased a new GE stove for her house we were told it comes with a converter kit her house is propane we have someone come to do the job but there’s no kit She goes to Home Depot in Selden where we purchased and they can’t do anything so now we’re told we have to purchase it ourselves through GE and pay for it the plumber we hired said someone ripped it off the back of the stove this is ridiculous I will never buy from them again The Salesperson who sold it to us checked to make sure it came with the kit but now someone took it I’m guess the delivery people who also told us the kit is there. Not one person is taking responsibility for the missing kit Don’t buy appliances there not worth it
Thank you to Jim in the garden area. He was a big help finding me what I needed. Unlike most other employees there who tell you It over there in an area that is filled with so many products. Especially when I am looking for something a never bought before. Lucky there are a few good people left that understand that the customer is most important. Thanks again Jim for the help and going beyond to assist me.
I just closed on my 5th house. I was sadden to hear the gentleman Mr. Miguel no longer works there. He worked in the plumbing department and exhibited incredible knowledge and the best customer service skills in the 3 years I have been shopping at this location. They need to bring him back ASAP. I seen him help 3 customers all at the same time because no one else who was working the department wanted to help. Especially the lady who just wants to give people candy...smh. Ill make my purchases elsewhere unless he comes back.

Home Depot Selden is the best Home Depot. I shop here at least 3 times out of the week. I came in today looking for a watering container. I didnt see any so I asked an associate that was walking by do they still have any watering cans the associate never stop just kept walking said no we dont. Not one time stopping to assist. I ran into another associate as I was getting ready to leave the store. I asked her she said she was not sure but assisted me by walking me over to where they are normally kept and even though they was not there she asked another associate for assistance they told her and she walked me over to another area. I want to thank Donna for assisting me today. For making something as small as an watering can important. Special thanks to Donna.
Great service. Augustine is the guy you need to see if your dealing with tools. Great experience working with him and customer service to replace a faulty power tool. He knows his inventory and goes the extra mile to make sure your taken care of. 5 stars for Augustine in tools.
So came to buy a refrigerator from this store. Best Buy had lower price. They only now price match Lowe’s. Lowe’s also with the lower price. Acting manager Joe was so lazy that he just said why don’t you go buy the refrigerator from Lowe’s. Didn’t even try to make the effort to get the price match. Horrible mentality and etiquette and professionalism!
This Home Depot in Selden New York is the absolute worst when it comes to management along with horrible customer service when it comes to even caring about the customer as managers do nothing to help. We paid for an LP exchange today and waited in the rain in the gas tank exchange area for somebody to show and give us an exchange. Nobody ever showed up. We went back to the garden area and again they called for help for an employee to show up for an LP tank exchange. Again nobody showed up. After going inside for a refund on our 24 dollar charge, I asked to talk to the MOD. Chris the MOD Italked to was worse then nobody showing up outside. Sad, for years we enjoyed this store. For the past seven years plus forget about any help from management I dont think they ever come out of the office in the back of the store.Save your time and money and shop at Lowes.
I love a good home depot!! This one is pretty well stocked and organized. I was able to find everything I needed. The best part is the staff. They were all super helpful, even walking me to one of the items I needed. The checkout line was super quick and they offered to help me to my car. Id definitely use this home depot again:-)
Tried to do the curbside pickup. What a joke after placing order I waited 3 hours then went to store. Was told they have and I repeat 100 orders ahead of mine. I said okay just give me a round about time. Is that 3 hours from now or 3 days? Very rude and not helpful in anyway. I felt like I was a bother to them . I purchased $335 worth of products. Cancelled order!!. Didn’t even try to keep customer. Not good business. Like the Giants Sears, JC Penny . I ordered my Electric Weed trimmer from Amazon. Good buy big box stores!!!
A big thank you to Denise. I opened a Home Depot credit card account to take advantage of a $50 discount and 6 month interest free financing. while I was trying to claim the discount I was locked out of the charge pass site. I called the store and Denise was able get things sorted out and get me my discount coupon. She went above and beyond.
Went to buy a sheet of plywood and asked the lumber associate for help and he tells me go find the plywood and put it in the saw then he will cut it. He was rude and had an attitude like he didnt want to be bothered. I found a manager and he helped me get the wood and had the lumber associate cut it for me. If thats the type of service you get I will go to Lowes.
The line to enter the store was long well beyond the corner up to the liquor store. People observing social distances. All using face masks. After about thirty minutes, we got in. There were very few inside, it was easy to keep away from each other. Also, the store hours are limited comparing to before the virus.
Just bought some stuff with my stepson just now and had Alex as a cashier. Does he normally say F you to customers hes annoyed with? I think thats very rude and obnoxious and very unprofessional. Then he went and discuss the whole ordeal with a female coworker. Just because my step-son was a little high-strung because we couldnt find certain product because we were run around to three different places but nobody knew where anything was. That doesnt give anybody the right to act like that. He thought just because I had headphones on I couldnt hear him. Something should be done. Very bad employee.
I always find someone willing to help me when I have questions. If for any reason that person doesnt have an answer, they help me hunt down someone who can. It may take patience because its not just me they are giving good service to. Keep that in mind and youll have a great experience.
Had to ask 3 people before arriving at the correct aisle specified online. Ironically, it was a first-day associate who guided me properly. Great job by him! Store is organized and tidy; otherwise would have rated 3 stars for having to ping multiple associates to find location.
This is a standard Home Depot Store. As usual it is well organized and Usually it is easy to find things, especially with the Home Depot app. Some items that show in stock on the app may be hard to find if it says “ask for help from store employee”. As is usual for a big box hardware store, knowledgeable employees are in short supply. They all are courteous and as helpful as they can be.
I went there to buy a tool box top and the women said that dont sell just the top we went over to the computer and on the screen that was up the one SHE WAS LOOKING AT FOR THE TOOLBOX TOP IT WAS RITE THERE SEPARATE FOR SALE........This isnt the first time this happened at this store. I guess these days your better off looking up what you want before you go.Is it laziness or what? Lost a customer!!!
I have found that HD has great products, great staff in the store and online, as I have spent thousands there the past 6months renovating my home...but I have very mixed reviews about their online installers, assemblers, and installation process. If you have an issue with the installers good luck getting some resolve in a timely manner from them... BUT THE GREAT NEWS IS...Home depot mgmt , Chris went out of his way to resolve my problem...refunded my installation fee, madesure the installers didntget paid fornot doing their job, and put the BBQ together for me at no charge and DELIVERED it to my home the next day....SERVICE with a smile. any problems with your installers go to staff at the Selden Home Depot store..... Home Depot your products and staff are great, your installation dept, communication process with assemblers... not so much...
Worst customer service. No one wants to be bothered to help you. We asked 3 different people for help and they all just act clueless and point you to one end of the store and say ask someone down there. Wasn’t until I went to the front customer service desk and asked if a manager was around and voiced my frustration that then someone bothered to show us where the item we were looking for was located. Serious customer service training should be done for the staff in this store.
Extremely frustrating experience trying to purchase a snowblower. Used a new HD credit account, which was supposed to offer $100 off a $1000 purchase. Multiple associates at the service desk simply couldn’t get the transaction through, with many failed attempts at work-arounds. My wife and I spent over 90 minutes waiting while they wrestled with Home Depot’s terrible computers, finally just asked to refund the whole purchase, which took another 15 minutes or so.Went to Lowe’s, got 10% off, in and out in a few minutes.Home Depot has great employees who were really trying, but they’re faced with an awful system. When four associates can’t figure out how to get around a purchase issue, you know the problems with how HD designed that system.Will be cancelling the new HD card, and will never make a major purchase at HD again.
Selden HD: I found what I went there to get. The associates are, as always, accessible and helpful. However a surprise was to find that all checkouts had, effectively, been swapped over to self service. Im not sure why this bothers me because in comparison I do use pay-at-the-pump exclusively.
When you ask someone a question, I dont think it is too much to ask that they listen. The lumber dept was poorly stocked even at 9am. They said they had 90 pcs of plywood but couldnt find them. And... the counter person was completely out to lunch. She had no care to even be there.
The kid Zee in garden is an air head. Had no idea how to ring up the gift card and proceeds to tell me I have to call a number or go on a website. I have no idea where to call or go, card said to just scan at register. Proceeds to use works such as like and thingy to get his message across to me. I asked to speak to someone who knew how to help me apply the card and them magically when he scanned it it worked. Train your staff home Depot. Its frustrating and annoying when dealing with staff but this kid was next level untrained and not helpful.
Going in and out is a breeze if you know what you are looking for, but the staff can be more confrontational. I search through aisles scratching my head for an item sometimes, while employees are either watching me as if they are scared to ask me if I need help, or are just non-existent in general. If you see me going up and down the aisle, would it hurt to ask if Im finding everything OK rather than playing with your thumbs?
Really bad customer service. No one wants to earn their job. They only like to assist you when their corporate executives or their bosses are around. If I ask for help they send you to wrong place just to get rid of you. If there were negative star, they would get negative stars
THIS STORE IS HORRIBLE. I HAD ASSET PROTECTION RUN UP AND PUT HANDS ON ME WHEN I WAS IN THE GARDEN SECTION LOOKING AT FLOWERS. SOME FAT SPANISH GUY WITH BLACK HAIR AND GLASSES TRIES TO PUT HIS HANDS ON ME! I WILL NEVER SHOP IN THE SELDEN LOCATION AGAIN. THEY ARE ARE BUNCH OF GHETTO WORKERS IN THAT STORE. DONT GO THERE. LOWES IS MUCH BETTER

2022-04-29After the Patchogue store messed up my lumber delivery I spoke with Annie at the Selden store. she fixed the order and made sure that the lumber was prepared correctly! Annie was kind, patient and very competent. She is definitely an asset to Home Depot and her assistance saved my project plans. GREAT JOB!

2022-06-22DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT EVER . They are terrible, the sales people don’t tell you details upfront bc they are afraid to lose the sale and then another company arrives to install it and they refuse to do anything. Royal waste of time and money . Save yourself the aggravation and go to PC richard or Best Buy . Today they lost a customer for life . Thanks for nothing HD

2022-04-26For such a big store and the season of spring and summer where people are shopping and need a hand there is no staff one man in selden sweet and helpful but cant do all alone. I am greatful that he took time to help me with the bags of heavy rock to my car.but really one older man one cashier step up your game you dont need 5 people talking at the return section help the customer. Lowes is wstching!!

2022-07-03Hands down the worst Home Depot I’ve been to. Employees have no idea where or what anything is. Takes about 10 minutes to find anyone to help with anything and managers are pretty much non existent.

2022-06-09Took almost 45 mins to get an online order brought to the front, then the registers crash and uses our gift cards. Cashier runs us around to customer service saying we have to go there to get our gift cards back and they were already reloaded to our account. Complete waste of 2 hours. Avoid this one if you are a contractor.

2022-05-10I originally come from the city what a difference the home depots out here organized people who know what theyre selling people who you can find to help you not like the one on Forest avenue in Staten island where you have to search the aisles to find someone with an orange apron on and they always seem to be busy in Staten island its a whole nother world out here great store wish I can give it 10 Stars

2022-04-29They installed the carpet nice but didnt move any of the furtinature back. When we called to ask they said they dont do that??? When we booked the appt we asked and they said it was no problem. They didnt care at all lol
