The Hops Spot in other cities:
Excellent experience! Brought the kids here today and had a blast. We attempted to keep the kids busy at the table but when they started getting antsy, we brought them back to the little kids section they have setup with a small slide, a chalkboard and some toys. One of the employees came out and put a kids show on the TV even though they were busy with adults coming in to watch the SU basketball game. The food was great, with a menu so tempting well have to come back to try everything. Beers offered in smaller sizes so you can try a couple. Kids menus come with crayons and the kids food was gobbled up! Thank you Hop Spot for a great day.
Came here with my family for dinner on a Saturday night around 7:00. There were 5 of us and we were seated right away. We shared the Big Lebowski poutine as an appetizer and each got a different burger and one chicken sandwich. The waitress was super friendly, lots of college kids but nothing rowdy. Everything was excellent and next time were in town we have to go back to try more! My only issue was that it was so loud, but its because it was packed with people for good reason
Its been more than an hour since we sat down and they havent brought our food yet. The server also messed up 2 of the beers in our flights, missed one completely and got the other one wrong. Its clearly too loud for them to actually great peoples orders and they are severely understaffed.
Awesome spot, full vegan menu: fake chickn and burgers. Desert poutine was Chocolate & marshmallow drizzle on funnel fries (not ice cream on French fries) and theres a game room in the back with board games, bocce ball, super Nintendo, darts and Cornhole! Food was great; service was great! 10/10 would recommend.
Wouldn’t even give this place one star. Was told upfront by an employee that it was okay to bring my emotional support dog into the bar, but was soon approached by the extremely unprofessional and rude owner who forced us out of the bar. I will never return and urge people not to support this business. Maybe this business needs to learn how to 1. Support people with mental illness that have a legal document to support a military member to have a dog at his side and 2. Learn how to attend to individuals that choose to give him business. Do not go to this bar.
At the THS and I ordered the poutine like I did in the past and it was soooo salty. The waiter dropped our food off and never came back until we had to ask another waitress to get him and when he came back to drop off the one thing we needed the food was cold. Very disappointed with this visit.
This is a heaven for IPA drinkers and people who love upscale bar food while drinking their pint! The menu was not too large and overwhelming. The classic poutine was phenomenal! The gravy on the fries is amazing. The fires alone were very nice and handcut. The burgers were cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. Friendly service and perfect atmosphere. I will definitely return.
My husband and I were in the area from downstate NY and decided to stop here after looking at the menu. Neither of us were disappointed. The service was incredibly quick!! We werent even there for 20 minutes and our food came! I was undecided with my poutine choice and let the waitress decide so that I was surprised and she picked the special for me. Why? Because its a special and it doesnt happen all the time. I love that explanation! The beer choices were phenomenal as well. 15/10 highly recommend!!
Came in here for lunch and a few beers - this place did not disappoint. Menu was great - had some unique burgers and an entire section dedicated to poutine, which you don’t often see around here. The bartender was super helpful and knowledgeable about the beer - he let me try a handful of beers before I ordered. I don’t like going downtown generally, but I’d go back for this place
Big open spot with great beer selection. Food menu sounds overwhelmingly delicious. Key word, sounds. The 3 degrees of Kevin Bacon burger is questionable as far as the fried bacon is concerned...see picture. Seems like everything here is undercooked. The poutine gravy is a bit watery, and the fries are soggy. Would be better if it was more traditional thick gravy. On a separate note, a female friend we were with went to the restroom, and there was no toilet paper in the first 2 stalls. Easy to get to from downtown Cuse, but not a great first impression. No real interest in coming back.
The pierogi poutine was delicious. Beer selection was pretty good but given how competitive the area has become also pretty standard. Interesting cocktail choices, though we didnt try any on this visit. We sat on the patio so I didnt see much of the inside but looks like some minor changes since the previous restaurant that was located in this spot. Nothing wrong with that, it was nice decor so the spot didnt need a major overhaul. The patio is a nice spot for people watching.
Came to Syracuse to visit the university and The Hops Spot was near my hotel so I stopped in for dinner. The duck wings (maple buffalo sauce) and fried green tomatoes are PHENOMENAL. I even came back for lunch the next day to get another serving of the wings. Also have an amazing selection of beer that I was allowed to sample before committing to a cup. Looking forward to starting school so that I could come here often!
Perfect menu for a burger or chicken sandwich fix. The perfect toppings on my Dirty Bird chicken sandwich with chopped pickles and jalapeños. So good. The fries complimented the sandwich perfectly as well. The space is nice but could make it more cozy with some enhancement of theme.
Great place for drinks; large number of taps available from breweries across the region and beyond. Staff was fairly quick, responsive, and did a good job of getting out our orders. The food options are good enough to go along well with the beers, and I strongly recommend the Pickle Rick! sandwich.
Had the classic poutine - very tasty- and the chicharron- really good, fresh and crispy. Would order the chicharron again, definitely recommend. Also had a meatless burger - was ok, Eh burger - nice flavors but the grilled chicken tikka burger isnt a repeat. Tikka didnt work for me on a burger. The best meal was the Appalachian chicken salad. Loved the dressing, just right amt, the bacon, cheese, fried cranberries and green apple slices. Would definitely come back again and recommend as a good place for good food and friendly service.8/2019: congrats on your 1 yr anniversary! After theLarge selection of beers from Upstate NY. Some hits, some misses. Had the pork tacos. Nice presentation. Pickled onions, fresh radish and creme fresh was good but pork lacked flavor. Could have used a squirt of vinegar or sauce to make it pop without conflicting with the topping. Chicken marsala poutine was good. The Big Lebowski poutine with the pierogies had a stout gravy - yummy. Fast, friendly service. Always a repeat whenever in the neighborhood.
My company recently hosted an after conference event at The Hops Spot. Every single attendee raved about the food, atmosphere and drinks! Its not easy to please an entire group of 25 while servicing a restaurant full of others, but The Hops Spot nailed it. Its a great location with a top-notch staff. The beer selection is vast and the food is spectacular. Working with their staff to plan the event was a breeze and Matt was very attentive to our specific needs. I highly recommend this spot, it truly is SPOT ON.
My family and I visited today because we read on Syracuse.com there was a play area for kids. While it wasnt as grandiose as I expected (a climbing station) it kept my sons attention. There were empty containers that used to hold toys and a chalkboard without any chalk. The poutine was flavorful but the fries were soggy and lukewarm, the chicken was cold. I ordered the PB&J for my son, but the server said she couldnt find the Uncrustables...OK...I understand it was a bar but selling a frozen PB&J sandwich for $5? She entered a cheeseburger and was not supposed to charge us for it. She did. I mentioned it to her but did not ask for a refund. Kids meals should come with drinks and charging extra for cheese on their burgers is silly..However, if youre in need of a date and cant find a sitter, Id say it was worth it.
Went to the Hops Spot with a friend to try the poutine and have a beer. The beer list is pretty large. The majority of the list consisted of IPAs and Sours. My friend loves IPA and she tried a couple different ones and was happy. Unfortunately for me, I like Wheat beer and there was only 1 on the menu. Blue Paw Wild Blueberry Wheat. Id never tried a blueberry wheat before and it was pretty good.We decided we wanted to try poutine and a burger so we split them. There are quite a few crazy poutine recipes and most of them sounded delicious. We decided to go with Classique Poutine this time to see how they do with the basic. Hand cut fries, gravy, and cheese curd. The quality of the ingredients was good. Unfortunately, the gravy wasnt very warm. I think if everything was heated properly. It wouldve been great. For the burger we ordered the Blue Ribbon. Smoked blue cheese, carmelized onions, creamy blue cheese dressing, and bourbon bacon jam. We didnt get to choose the cook on our burger, so it came out well. It was cooked properly though and not dried out. This is probably the best blue cheese burger Ive ever had. Usually the blue cheese is so overpowering you cant taste anything else. At The Hops Spot, this burger was perfectly balanced and so delicious. The burger was served with fresh cut fries which were hot, crispy, and perfect.I will go back to The Hops Spot. Maybe theyll add a few more wheat beer choices and I will ask for the gravy on the poutine to be hot.
This place was my go-to for a long time. Excellent beer selection and generally knowledgeable staff. Everything changed when my table was cut off for no reason and one of the squirrelly, skinny, advanced bald male bartenders pulled out a baseball bat and threatened us with it. The bar manager with the glasses has a very poor sense of reality and has probably peaked in his current position. We were told that coffee wasn’t served at the bar even though one of our table members had enjoyed several cups. Eventually the cops were called by a patron after witnessing the bat being pulled, swung at the air (without much force) and slammed on the ground.
Love the different menu! Very excited to get delicious poutine somewhere local. I really appreciate the material of the container for easy reheating and that the gravy is on the side! This was our 2nd take out order. First one was AMAZING couldnt stop raving about it. This time the poutine was just as good, however the burger my husband ordered was definitely not as great. The bacon was very fatty and the apple chutney was more like sliced apple chunks not an actual chutney. Will definitely try again, try a diff burger this time and maybe try the pretzels in addition to the poutine.
This place was amazing. They had a great menu & everything vegan & GF was on its very own menu. Ive never had so many different options to choose from for a vegan burger before. & I even got to enjoy a vegan dessert as well. The staff was very friendly & extremely accommodating. The place itself was huge & very clean. Its extremely kid friendly as they had a kids corner towards the back that had a slide, TV, chalk board, & more. They even had a social distance seating area completely away from all the other tables.
The Hops Spot: Savory poutine and Burgers, plus it has room for the kids.Poutine is a dish served with beer. The Hops Spot in Armory Square honors the French Canadian culinary contribution and raises the ante by pairing nine different variations of it with a rotating tap list of more than 40 beers. On my visit this past Friday, March 15th, 2019,I ran into my acquaintances Cheryl & Ryan Chaif, founders, and owners of the Hops Spot.I inquired about the Reuben Cheryl had in front of her, and she explained that they Brined the corned beef (16 of them) for 10 days before cooking them. It was one of the best Reubens Ive ever eaten.I also inquired which beer they reccomended for the day, and to pair with my Reuben. They told me of two IPAs, one brewed in Vermont, by Lawson Brewery, called Chinookerd, and the second, brewed by the Hops Spot, For Peach-Shake Imperial IPA.They were both delicious and complimented my Reuben sandwich. The Hops Spot, which Ive now added to my Favorites List ; is located at 116 Walton Street, next to the Empire Brewing Company, and across from the Blue Tusk. 🍻
Stopped in to try their burgers and poutine. We started with the dirty plate poutine with fried chicken and pickled and I have to say I enjoyed them! I was afraid this would be too salty, but found it was not. The pickles were small dices and not over powering. Id get it again. We tried the Kevin bacon burger as I was intrigued by buttermilk fried bacon. Again I was expecting overly salty, but was not. The meat was cooked medium well, but still juicy. There was a bacon jam that added nicely to the flavor without being overwhelmed. Also they have a nice selection of beers on tap! Ill be back to try some of their other burgers!
This place is great. Love the menu items names because they are puns or references to things and very creative. The food was really good and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place has a small area for kids with a chalkboard and slide as well as some toys which worked great for our toddlers.
Used to really enjoy this place. Unfortunately my last two experiences, between the food and the staff, have been unacceptable. The poutine is always undercooked, soggy and bland. The staff is rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. It makes me sad for the owner and the whole establishment. With such disrespectful employees, poor management and below average food I’ll be surprised if they stay in business much longer.
Having a great day today, why? 1st choice was busy. 2nd Choice was too busy. So we cant here The Hops Spot has amazing beers on tap. Great cocktails. And their food..... the food is out of this world!!! Look at their Vegetarian menu!!! Vegan poutine. cajun fries. Fresh baked pretzels with fresh beer cheese. Fresh house made hummus of the day (today was red pepper) and more to come. This place is a cant miss if youre in the area... also worth the travel. Might be my go to spot! Fresh baked chocolate chip skillet cookie is TOO DIE FOR
They advertise themselves as focusing on beer, burgers, and poutine, but they were all meh. The poutine was super disappointing, limp fries, weak gravy, and the cheese curds tasted like nothing. The burger was actually pretty tasty, but its a 1/4 lb patty and its just really small for the price. As for the beer, Im not sure what the point of having 50 beers on the menu is if half are sours and half are triple IPAs. I like both styles but theres just so little variety.
I often come here since they opened a year or so ago. I like to try something new every time I come, whether it’s a saucy poultry sandwich or a new poutine special.Today I came for a rockin’ salad my roommate had ordered last time we were here. Not only did we order the same thing and it looked like separate orders.. But we waited for someone to attend to us after getting Soda with no syrup in it completely see throughNot that, that was the biggest issuebut getting a hold of someone to help us was because half the staff was outside, and the other half was leaning on the bar.We watched our server do a shot in the kitchen from where we were sitting.. not very attractive.I come for the experience and this wasn’t my best.. hope they can work to fix their culture.
If you’re vegan, get the vegan menu because the regular menu is incredibly misleading. Prices are not properly gauged for vegan modifications - aka, you will be charged the same price for the vegan poutine as the regular poutine which has additional cheesy curds. I’m fairly certain that the “gravy” is just vegetable stock that was warmed and poured over the fries - making them entirely soggy.
Normally a decent fan of this place since they are one of few places around that has vegetarian gravy. “Poutinerie” is a bit of a stretch since the curds are like crumbs. Went there over the weekend and ordered a poutine but when I got my food it was just fries and gravy. When I asked the server he later brought a small cup of curds to put on top. Cold curds on a tray of fries and gravy was hardly satisfying.
My bf and I had a great experience here. We went during one of the evenings when Walton Street was closed so that restaurants could expand their outdoor seating. The Hops Spot was one of the few restaurants that really seemed to take the spacing requirements seriously. We felt very comfortable eating on their front patio. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff was very nice.
We had lunch here today and the food and service were both excellent. The Sweet Heat burger had a nice kick, but it did not detract from the juicy burger. My husband likes his burger rare and he sent compliments to the kitchen which does not happen very often. Both the food and beer menus are interesting and not run of the mill. We are looking forward to a return visit.
Great food, average price, great beer, kid friendly! (Little kids slide, chalk board and toys!) Corn hole indoor. Clean, has a changing table for babies. And staff was amazing!! Their are stairs to get in if you have a stroller its difficult, BUT we asked if they could let us in the back door (around the building) they let us in that way with no issues and were able to drive the stroller right inside.
Good concept and good looking menu, but there was minimal effort made to make us feel welcomed. The leaking air conditioner drain over our table wasnt so much of a big deal, but when we told our waitress about it she just apologized that it was leaking rather than try to find us a dry table. The beer selection was great, but having our food rained in made it less enjoyable. Its a nice looking place to get a $12 plate of gravy fries, but one visit was enough for us.
Consistency is king at the Hops Spot. We return time and again - the food, beer and drink selection, and service never disappoint. If they do make a mistake, its corrected on the spot. Favorites off the menu I keep coming back for include the Pickle Rick, Dirty Plate, and Thursday burger and brew ($10 for a Classic Burger and select brews). A staple in our eating out rotation.
All around great place for a weekend night dinner or even a weekday dinner. It’s a bar and restaurant which is fun. Their beer flights are readable priced and delicious. The food of course is amazing and would go there again for sure and tell my friends about it. They also have a room that can be reserved for events that had its own bar, a giant Bochie ball, a Nintendo, and board games. They also have drag queen nights so it is for sure an interesting place. But overall a fun and great place to eat.
Great new spot in downtown. Large area and they are planning on using all of the space. When I was there they did not have their full menu but the burgers are grass fed beef and you can tell that it is a high quality burger. I had the poutine with bacon and duck wings and was very full. Good portions and good service. Would go again and looking forward to a full menu.
I had heard about this place from some coworkers and finally had a chance to go. It was a great place to grab lunch with a friend, out only problem was narrowing down what to try! The duck wings were amazing (we got the maple Buffalo and it was the perfect compromise for my friend who likes spicy and me who doesnt). From the poutine to the salad everything we had was great and everyone was friendly and attentive.
Had a wonderful time! Our family had booked the back room for my brothers wedding rehearsal dinner. We dined on poutine, hand crafted burgers, mixed greens salad. For dessert...cheese cake!!!! I am SUPER picky about this. They got everything right. Served in individual smallish mason jars. Neat. Toppings were : fruit in 3 different forms♡ peach, strawberries & my personal favorite...blueberries. the texture of the cheesecake was sublime. Perfectly creamy. Hats off to the chef! The staff is very sweet. Cant wait to go back for date nite!
Excellent craft beer and great food. They have over 30 taps - all full with a great variety of local and other American beers. The menu is full of millennial references (such as the Pickle Rick sandwich), and is generally exactly what a Millennial is looking for in a restaurant.
I was super excited to try the Hop Spot! The Beer List is amaze and the Customer service was amazing! I definitely will try again to give the food another chance because it wasnt good at all! Im feeling maybe it was just an off night. I didnt have any children with me but I do love how they have a little play area for children and even a step stool in the restroom so the littles can wash their hands!
Tried to go in and eat w/ a mixed age group (some of us are over 21 and some not) the staff was incredibly disrespectful to us at the door, being rude to those of us who were over 21, saying we were lying, and didn’t seat us. I’ve never been treated so horribly before even sitting down. I will NOT ever be back. Based on the other time I’ve gone, the food is mediocre.
This was one of the best places we have gotten service at in a long time. Our server was amazing. From helping us with the huge menu to going out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, even before we asked for things. To me, service is 85% of your experience while out to eat, and this places nailed it. The food was great too. Poutine was amazing. So many options. We had burgers, and for bar burgers I was hoping for a bit thicker but that didnt change the flavor packed taste at all.
The poutine is OK, the burger and fries undersized (or overpriced). Also, service and execution is consistently poor, with long wait, cold fries, and overcooked burger. Looks like a great beer selection so maybe its great on the weekends or after the game, but not a great place for lunch compared to everything else within 1/2 a block...
Absolutely excellent beer selection, great game room in the back. Ive eaten there twice and both time the food was entirely mediocre, considering what they charge thats unacceptable. The poutine is highway robbery, $12.50 for a small plate of fries with some parmesan on it an a little dipping cup of garlic aioli. Will be back to drink but will eat somewhere else downtown.
Consistently good food, great staff and a plentiful rotating draft selection. We can visit weekly and never get bored. Also, theres usually a good playlist of music in the background. (Whomever chose to play the New Orleans Funk and Jazz a while back- you have a special place in my heart 😁)Theres a great atmosphere here. So glad we have this place in the neighborhood.
My wife and I enjoy every visit we make to The Hops Spot. The food is all locally sourced and the menu is quite diverse. Theres pretty much something for everyone. The prices range from about $7 to around $16 if I recall. There is a wide selection of bottled beers and they recently installed a new draft line with 26 taps. It may be a bar but it has a very relaxed atmosphere. Go ahead and give it a try, its worth it.
As a vegan i loved going here for good beer and their pretty decent sized vegan menu; but since they closed the dining room down for covid and only takeout is available, every part of the restaurant has just declined. the people that answer the phone will get orders completely wrong, even when i order on grubhub or doordash they’ve given me something completely different from what i’ve ordered. the quality of the food is just sad now. i never get the fries anymore because they will give me straight up UNCOOKED fries. i used to absolutely love their vegan burgers but now everytime i order one i literally have to take it apart and cook the beyond burger because it is literally, like i cannot stress this enough, NOT. COOKED. i don’t know what’s goin on in there but it’s sad cuz they used to be so good.
Love this place. Right in downtown sackets. A hop, skip, and jump from the docks. Best beer selection around for sure, but dont let the name fool you... You wont find better food. My wife hates beer, it took some convincing to get her to go, but now its one of her favorite restaurants. Oh yes, they often have live music as well!
During this very trying time for us all the management and staff at The Hops Spot have shown the dedication to the local community by offering foods while some restaurants in the downtown area werent. Special shout out to Matt B. Keep up the good work! Well get through this and come back bigger and better.
Its a beer joint, If you are into craft beers, its probably for you. I thought it was too bright and kind of an uncomfortable space. The 20 year old mask nazis were in full effect, but that is not their fault, they are just following orders. Emperor Cuomo demands obedience. On the positive side, the servers were great, the place is HUGE so even during covid, you can probably still get in. and the prices were good. To be fair, I am an old guy and this is a young peoples place. It wasnt for me, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt check it out for yourself.
I was in the mood for a really great classic poutine for dinner. What I got was a $12 over price poutine side dish that was lacking in flavor. You could get double the amount of poutine for the same or cheaper price at other places. I was there when they first opened a few years ago, and the portion size definitely used to be larger.
I guess theyre known for their burgers but they arent really anything special. No matter how you ask for it youll get it medium well. The toppings are on the very thin side. Youll get a thin piece of lettuce, a couple swirls of onion and I think there was a slice of tomato on it. The beer selection is top notch however. Well, as long as they dont rum out of what you want and the waitrrss doesnt have to come back three times to tell you that each one you order has kicked. Huh, I was going to give this 4 stars, but now that I think about it, nope.
The Hops Spot is a perfect mix of good food and good drinks. The beer list is extensive and always rotating, keeping things fresh, and the food is to die for. Poutine is highly recommended. In addition, they feature a game room with Cornhole, darts, bocce, and videogames.
I know the restaurant just opened for the season but you forgot to clean the bathroom! Ill be going to Maggies the next time I want a buffalo chicken salad. The quality of food and service has been declining. I changed my once 5 star review to a 1 star. Expected more for Sackets Harbor.
So wife, 2 daughters and I head down for for a late lunch on Saturday. Host sat us quickly wait staff was chill and thats fine by me I never like to ve rushedin and out. Drink orders were taken while we decided on food from a new menu. Now the selection all reads well and most items are tempting. Proper burgers, poutine chic sands and salads. After a short bit i decide on my selection a tex mex style poutine and a mac and cheess only to be informed they dont have that poutine available. The waitress informed the hadnt had it in a while for a place that just opened a few months ago????? Seriously. What ever I order another variation and add bacon cause why not, wife and girls order burgers. Now I dont order pasta ever!! The girls like pasta and mac and cheese so I order that thinking we will all get a taste and see how it is and one of the girls would finish it for me. Food arrive wife steals a bite of mac and cheese 2 seconds after it arrives ans says its cold, Not like the top piece is cold but cold I ask hey jus toss this in microwave for a min she insist no we will make a new one. Second one arrives boom cold again. My 12$ poutine also not very warm like fries premade granted if it was busy and it wasnt i understand precooked things to a degree. This seems like a rant but its not its just what happened. Here is my suggestion in short for 12$ fries should be propper hot. In a time of fancy mac and cheese for 12$ cheese sauce should be hot in steam table if thats what u use i assume pasta is prepped before that should be dipped in boiling water and whole mix should be tossed in skillet and put on a HOT dish cause it it cant make it the 30 feet from kitchen to my table hot 2 times something is wrong.. Will i go again yes to see if they have fixxed it but was a let down too
Was not doing well, so drank water. My wife explicitly asked for water to go and they gave her a plastic glass and told her I could take it. The bouncer took it from me as I left, and used derogatory language as he did so. Will not be returning to this place.Edit: Spoke with a manager who was very apologetic and seemed to understand my frustration. I know some people can be rowdy and try to walk out with beers but this was not the case with me as i was trying to drink water and I had permission. Ill give this place another chance and update my rating according to my conversation.
Not worth it! Rude staff! The check in process was unorganized with limited signage. In an attempt to socially distance when arriving I waited by the door and was immediately scolded for having the door open. There was no please or thank you when it was shut. To top it off our night ended with security, who was not wearing a mask, ordering us to finish up and leave.
Arrived at 6pm...loved the outside seating music - immediately noticed a sign that read Open Until We Close. The very polite hostess greeted us and said it would be a 45 minute wait because they had a party of 25. But then, followed that with Well, that would be pointless because we stop serving at 6:30.I asked if we (2 of us) could sit at bar and eat and was told You can sit at the bar to drink but could not have food because they are too backed up.Hmmmm.... Open until we close? Perhaps take the sign down.....
Went for poutine as the pictures they posted made it seem that someone had finally made authentic Quebec Poutine. But no, another failed CNY attempted. Fries were limp, cheese curds were just crumbles of leftovers, gravy was translucent and watery. Service was non existent.

2022-03-15After going the first time for a quick beer we had to go a second to try the food and more specialty beers. Everything tasted incredible and the presentation was awesome! The bartender was really knowledgeable and had great suggestions. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

2022-03-21Dinner before Hamilton at Landmark Theater. Said 45 min wait, we were seated in 30 min. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Great draft beer selection. I went for my ol standby swallow wit by Middle Ages Brewery. For food I had these buffalo chicken lettuce wraps (pictured). Flavor was good, but the lettuce pieces were so small, I expected them to be bigger. The rest of my party ordered burgers, and ate them right up. I also ordered Fox Fries = Beer cheese and bacon fries. Very tasty, fries are good. 4☆ because everything was just good, nothing was stellar. Would go again.

2022-01-17Great time here during my recent trip to Syracuse. Metered street parking in the area. Nice open and neat space. Lots of seating both tables, booths and bar-style. All staff encountered were friendly and patient. Prices were fair and on par with similar downtown places. (Appetizers $13ish, burgers $15ish) Food was good-very good. Amazing beer selection with tons of beer on tap as well as a few can/bottled ones. Beer prices were also fair. ($4 - $9) You can select various sizes for the tapped beer...10oz, 16 oz,...which was convenient. Lots of large TV screens viewable from anywhere throughout the space. I would love to return when I am in the area again to try some other food items....

2021-07-31Stopped by for dining week and had a great lunch. The food was excellent and fairly priced. We both ordered appetizers and a meal and each of our plates were delicious. It arrived quickly and the service staff were friendly, attentive, and personable.

2021-10-18I was really excited to see in the Happy Cow app that The Hops Spot has a separate vegan menu. This made it a great choice for me and my very omnivore friend when she was in town for a visit.I ordered the Vegan Stampede and thought it was very tasty. The fries were also great. We liked the atmosphere and friendly staff. Ill definitely be back!

2022-04-14I like it. Tons of beers to choose from. The food is good and different. I had duck wings. Its wide open with a nice bar too. If you are in your mid 30s or older you remember this being PJ dorseys. Its better now. There is a large game room in back with a bocce ball court. Pretty cool. Bathrooms were immaculate.

2022-01-22Weve never had a bad experience here. The food is delicious and their beer menu is extensive. My husband always gets one of the poutine variations and I am particularly keen on their buffalo salad. That said, its all scrumptious. Enjoy!

2022-06-13Me and my wife went here and had an a great time! We had Justice as our server who was extremely kind. She was even able to recommend another beer with a similar flavor profile when one of the ones I requested was out. My wife had the dirty bird gluten free with grilled chicken which was great! I had a spicy dry rub burger with the best poutine ever. Will be back and will def request Justice, she was great!
