My friend Isla bremner is a professor here. You would be lucky to have her as a bestower of knowledge. Every knight has his sword, every poet has their pen, every artist has their paintbrush. Isla Bremner has her clarinet. With such great talent comes great responsibility. It is Isla’s life mission to share her musical skill with the world.
I am only 12 but I love love love the creative arts ( mostly singing and writing). I have been writing since I was in 3rd grade and singing since I was little.I want to better myself in dance. I really want to go here and I know, fingers crossed😄, if I dream, believe, and work hard enough I can get here! ☺😋 See you in a few years Juilliard!😘
Idk why they didn’t except my application. I even went in person to do a tryout. I was gonna play Despacito on my Kazoo but the security guard wouldn’t let me into the building. I stood outside and played really loud hoping that someone would come outside and admire my raw talent but I ended up all alone on the sidewalk and later took the wrong train and ended up in Crown Heights. I think I’ll apply to Art School instead.
I wanna Go To Juiliards I’ve always loved Music I’ve started dancing when I was 5 when Michael Jackson Died he was the reason why I dance but also I wanna go to show the world who I am and to become so Successful in Music and dance I’m hoping for Opportunity’s in life because I’m a Chris Brown dancer I’m hoping one day to travel around the world to also help out kids and other people. Im 17 years old , ive been singing since i was 4 years old . I love music so much its my dream to go to this amazing school , i heard of this school in High School Musical 3 & since then ive been wanting to go here . I would love to play a guitar & learn how to sing better . I CANT WAIT TO APPLY HERE NEXT YEAR !!
I am only finishing 6th grade at 12 years old and i have my heart set on Juilliard! i have never gotten below a 3.0 gpa and i am very experienced in acting, which is what i plan on majoring in. this is my dream college and i really hope that i can get into this pristine, top-of-the-line college one day!!!!
Im 14 years old and it has always been my dream to become an actor. Ive did plenty of research and The Juilliard School has rated no#1. Im praying one day Ill be able to tour this magnificent School which so many beautiful people has walked thru those golden doors and graduated.. Dreams do come true..Taylor Shealey
Im 13 years old, and even the PROSPECT of getting into this fine school tantalizes me. Robin Williams was an alumni of Julliard, and hes hands-down one of the most awe-inspiring actors who ever lived. I want to enrich and envelope myself in artistically-infused knowledge to increase my acting skills, partially by getting out there and tasting the many-flavored adventures the world has to offer, and partially by going to this school. Thank you.
I am going to be 15 years old in December. Since I was 11 years of age, I have done many research on juilliard. I positively love this school, This school is and will always be my dream school.Music has been a strong roll in my life I am a music prodigy. I hope to one day make it in this school.
I have never been there, but this is my dream school. Im in 7th grade and I have wanted to go here since I was 4. I would just love if I were to get into Juilliard. In life I want to become and actress/singer. Even though I know that its a rough business, its my dream and Im going for it. The only thing is I would have to get a scholarship, and I live in California, so thats why I havent gone. I am looking forward to my future, Juilliard, or not.
The Juilliard School practically defines, The Best Music School. It attracts the most ambitious students from all over the world, trains them aggressively, and works had at connecting them to great positions after graduation. The Pre-College is extremely competitive and elitist. A terrific environment for dedicated specialists.
Hi im Jasmine, ive wanted to go to this school forever and its almost my time for college so im really focused on music colleges, so i hope i have a future hear because im really focused. I just hope i make it into the school i hear its wonderful i can act and sing, dance almost everything i just want to be the best thank you
This is insane! Now Im skeptical of this school because almost all of the reviews are from kids with absolutely no Julliard experience! Im trying to see if I want to go to this college but I wont know if its good or not if people just talk about how they dream to go there!
I visited this place once when I was visiting my friend who is studying ballet. Its next to the Lincoln Center. There is a security in the lobby, pretty safe place. However, the resident hall on the 10th floor (if I remeber correctly) looks kind old. And gosh, they are still using those old fashioned Windows Vista PC.
Juilliard means everyrhing for me and I have 1 professor what I loveProfessor of organ Paul Jacobs! He responds to my email and gave me lots of support and courage! He is very young and very talented!I want to listen to his performance night and day!I am a major in piano in Laguardia High School of Music and take organ classes in Juilliard!
I am giving this place this review more for the fact that so many 13,14 and 15 year olds are already giving it 5 stars without having attended it. I have never been here and Juilliard is consistently ranked the best in the world so Im sure its world class but my review is purely here to balance some of these stupid 5 star ratings by these teenagers who dream of going to Juilliard instead of actually having been. This is of course hypocritical but hopefully it will give people an understanding on these flawed reviews.
Julliard offers one of the best free performance venues in NYC. Its a shame that so many people do not know of all the talent this place is bursting with. One should definitely check out the various recitals that the School hosts throughout the year. You will also see many top classical masters like Itzhak Perlman and Yo Yo Ma frequenting the halls as well.
Lo and behold ! Though I may not be the 144 month - year - old - wunder - kind that it seems the vast majority of these notable reviews are, I come with a non - prospective critique that promises to ensnare the interest of the hoi polloi. The reveries one shallth endure as a proper Juilliard attendee understands to comprehend without apprehend(ing). So speaketh the Spaniard, the origin it bequeathed be “El Porton”, or perhaps the mere rumor. Yet the idea spawned as the train of thought sped by, I barely grasping its rigid, intangible surface, where it tooketh me away from the tantalizing dream where practice rooms were properly aerated and properly prodigious.I had thought that I thought about my thoughts when the thought seemed so lonesome, yet soon to be realized twas’ thought by all. Without a doubt, the academic courses are (debatably) essential, i.e. ear training, music theory, music history, liberal arts, etc., but the art of Juillard is in the arts. All recognize the ravenous mouths these “classrooms classes”, their insatiable and unflinching consumption of their favored delicacy. The scientific term, I believe, is “time 2 practice”. Practicing is the equivalent of the studying for the plebians that can’t formulate the analogy, and without practice (rehearsals notwithstanding) our true building blocks of our performance careers becometh eroded. I’ll reiterate once more, tis’ a plea that rises from the voices of (approximately) all us attendees.Au contraire, these classes often find themselves as if alone, fighting to their wit for survival though in reality they all should coexist together. But they do not yet comprehend such so instead what occurs is the massive shortage of their prey, which turns to be infinitesimally detrimental to the biosphere and so it degrades quickly; I must admit though none of the prey have yet to yield. The burden is too much ! Ye who all be unfaithful, not all are of the gifted to be the “jack - o’ - all - trades” and certainly many focus our keen minds on performance. I nor we chose to slave away at keyboarding or writing seminar (in a manner we did choose, but certainly the decisions were not all truly viable as much as it forces one into the state of exception, Agamben anyone?) the life that we chose presupposes the arts. To inculcate the necessary indoctrination, time must be devoted to such and (nigh) only such. Does it look as if my sweet, fragile, bitter desires aspire to compose a welcoming “ballad” about other works?Suffuse the wisdom that doubtless undoubtedly did not doth unto thy mind. Take it for as you see worth, the bit o’ lint that clings to thy cuffs, or the glimmer o’ ole pristine gold (I suggest the latter). Admittedly the only turn that preexisted hither turned to be but a critique not a glamorous review, but in a way one is culpable of not claiming the former as a subset of the latter. Apologies such a brief, perpetual, ephemeral, enduring, piece I had composed here dared deviated away from the standards set previously, i.e. the simple dual categories of, “I may only be 12 . . .” and “[insert favored profanity] these 12 year olds”. But here is one, yours truly and well deserved, that cometh from a credible source of one who’d actually attended. An Afterword: Godbless Oquin[Our utmost gratitude to my interviewee Daniel Chan, Double Bass BM 21’]
Dont get me wrong, id love to go here, but jfc the other reviewers are 11-15 year olds who have a better chance of creating a wormhole than going here. besides, they havent even been here and are giving it 5 stars. i thought reviews were to help the public, not your dreams.
Im 13 going on 14 and I started thinking about what I want to do in my life moving on, I play 5 instruments , I sing and Ive been dance since I was three along with acting and julliard is my dream and just thinking about the school gives me the perseverance to work hard for what comes next in my life as a performer and artist which I feel is what every single performer needs to find within their talents.❣️❣️😊😊
I am 17 and I have never been to this school but the amount of 13-15 year olds who use words like tantalizing and who actually know how to use hyphens properly in something like awe-inspiring or say something like they’ve “been dancing since three years of age” is extremely suspicious, I also doubt any of these “13 year olds” have even looked at the website much less ever been there, this seems like a good school but if I can’t trust the reviews I won’t attend college here, so whoever is reading this and is behind the keyboard of the next 13 year old’s 5 star review, please consider what you’re doing before you drive away everyone else who might want to come to Juliard
I was treated by juillard staff that they would call the police/security on me if returned their ... i pay to attend and went though all the paper work that was required and they got aggressive and had me escorted outthese people at julliard are wasting my time and hurting the future of music with their tactics destroy the growth of musicianswhen can i do more than sit around and wait for these classes to and because a musician
You see it in many movies. You hear it mentioned very often.Becoming part of this school is really complicated ... and then you happen to find it in front of you.And then you too are catapulted into all those films and you wonder how much effort future dancers are doing during training. If you stand in front (park side) and are lucky, you can see part of the training!
Julliards has very nice facilities. The school is surrounded by the life of New York and that gives it a lot of energy and inspiration. The facilities are first class and have a classroom with a very nice street view. They also have a small store where they sell different things related to music and school. It is worth visiting and you can request a tour.
Every evening there is a performance hall where you can enjoy Juilliard students performances for free. Occasionally, you can hear the sophisticated performances of gifted students who are comparable to professional musicians. The performance schedule is listed in the free kiosk at the store.
Adjacent to the Lincoln Center, dont miss out if you go to the Lincoln Center to participate in the event, so you can claim to be at the Julia Conservatory. Julia will also have several performances, please keep an eye out. Tips: Occasionally there will be free performances by students, it is worth seeing. You can go to the official website of the Juilliard School of Music to check the performance plan during your visit.
Im 12 years old I live in Brazil my dream is to be able to study at Julliard, I live in a small city in northeastern Brazil but I know that if I dont give up I will have faith because when you give up a dream you lose one of the reasons to live I will have got faith in it :)
Juilliard enter there would be a dream come true for me to enter music for me would be a big step for my performance in the facilities of the great academy of dramatic art to demonstrate to Juilliard that music is not only an art is a way of life for many people and for me it is more than that I want to show that I have the talent to enter there.

2022-03-20I attended the Pre-College program at Juilliard way back in 1985. It was an emotional experience to bring my kids back to see and hear the sights and sounds of this iconic location. At present, I can barely recognize the place as much renovation is being done. Also, so beautiful at the time of my visit to see the music hall draped in the Ukrainian Flag! It brought me to tears - now being an aged man. I remember sitting next to Midori in one of the youth performances. My lessons with Eugene Becker and Mrs. Delay. Juilliard is a world renowned school of music. Back in my day, and being a person of color, it was somewhat bitter sweet. However, the school has worked endlessly to support and promote the arts to a diverse crowd. This truly shows as I now see so many young and talented children of color representing our famous institution. I never thought I would see this in my lifetime. I always knew such talent existed, but to see my own school recognize and promote is another story. Juilliard is an institution that you must visit at least once in your life. The talent held in this location is world class artists that do what I consider is Gods Work - that is, the promotion of artistry of mankind.

2022-05-17When planning one of our frequent trips to NYC, I always check out the Juilliard performance calendar. Top notch performances in acoustically wonderful settings that are free or very reasonably priced, especially for New York

2020-08-21Amazing experience. It is a beautiful place. You can enter into some areas or halls of the school with pictures of great artists and dancers. The area in front of it is amazing, with seats where you can admire the view, rest and have great time with your friends, as nice pictures. It is worth visiting it if you like dance and know a little about the school. It is well-know and many times appears in hollywood movies. It is New York so I think it is best to get there by metro (subway), if you are by car, you have to find a park-in-lot and pay for it. Well located too, close to many other touristics sites, stations and restaurants.

2022-03-16Funny how they handled the student protest and how entitled the schools response was. Read up about the incident regarding the workshop in wich students were asked to pretend they were slaves. I truly dont unterstand how things like this can happen in such a esteemed uni, especially in the 21st century...

2022-04-07Absolutely outrageous. Axel Webber auditioned and he didnt get in. I went in person expecting another outcome, only to find out that making music with your shoe as they squeek, is not a art and extremely unbearable so I burped the ABCs. That was disappointing and a waste of time. Its 2022 we should have a more outward view of the arts. Look in the future, not the past.

2019-07-12I thought about stopping in here to show off my mad skills but decided it would discourage the students from their potential. A quick photo from the outside would have to do for now since I’m exceptionally busy practicing 16 hours a day as a self taught professional.

Ive been joining Drama Kids since I was 5, and Ive watched all those movies and TV shows, and then I knew that being an actress was right for me. I really hope I get accepted when Im old enough. Also, I love New York. It was where I was born. So Im really looking forward to going to Juilliard, which is right in the middle of New York City!!
