We had an amazing time at Le Lavaux! Fondue was espectacular! Great balance of the wine and the sides. They even went to the liquor store next door to get our special request of licquor. Needless to say service was with Suisse class! We had the chocolate fondue too! Out of this World! The ambiance was like a true Suisse challet, with imported furniture and of course ingredients! Highly reccomend!
The definition of meh, they serve food for humans. There are infinitely better fondue restaurants anywhere, even melting pot is better, its really lazy, we paid $250 for a spread that could have been sourced from Costco, server had that I know its not great demeanor. As someone who has lived in Switzerland this isnt a great advertisement for the cooking.
Absolutely love this spot! Dropped for some wine and some appetizers - will definitely return for the Fondue!Food was authentically Swiss and just incredible, wine was fantastic (apparently the restaurant makes the wine themselves in Switzerland!!!) and the interior of the restaurant was stunning! Highly recommend this restaurant!
My husband and I were happy to celebrate the first of August, the Swiss National Day at le Lavaux, an authentic Swiss restaurant known for its Swiss specialties from a distinct region around lake Geneva( le lac Leman). We started our celebration with a small plateau de charcuterie and then enjoyed a delicious cheese fondue( we chose the Assemblage, a creamy fondue made with three cheeses from the region.)paired of course with a nice bottle of Chasselas, a white wine also from the region. Many diners were wearing their red t-shirts in a celebratory fashion. We thoroughly enjoyed being at Le Lavaux and were pleased to see that the restaurant is a success !
Gorgeous little gem. A slither Suisse au plein milieu du New York! The meat/cheese platter exceptional; the vin rosé not too dry nor sweet. Jasmine and Christian the most welcoming of hosts. The warm sunny June afternoon enhanced by everything! Next time we will sit in the gondola!
Dirty glasses. 1 waiter for the whole place. Super rude. Super slow service. Fondue 🫕 is served with pickles and fresh radish, boiled potatoes and tomatoes. Bitter taste. No wine pouring, no explanations, no water. Absolutely over rated, dirty, poorly managed place. We’ve made reservation for birthday and we’re counting seconds to leave. Cheese and charcuterie board is the only thing which we did enjoy. (That’s why I can add one star ⭐️) Busboy was polite. Waiter was not. They gave us $58 discount but even with discount for 4 we’ve end up paying $170 which is ridiculous for this kind of service. I highly recommend owners to visit places around with their servers, and show them how service should look like.
They have awesome Swiss wines (try the flight and find your favorite), great fondue (the basic fribourgeois is all you need) and raclette. The tartines or the boards are cant-miss lighter fare or starters. The tartare and salad are great as well. I think thats pretty much the whole menu. The service is consistently amazing. Yes, I go too often. Yes, Ill go again.
Special place – a (French) Swiss wine bar!Great selection of Swiss wine, and fun fondue to go with it.Fun space too, including outdoor seating (great for COVID times, or just winter vibes) and a gondola (date spot)! That said, it’s poor value (as with many Swiss things – expensive for good, but not great, quality): $38 for a flight?? (Admittedly 4 wines and generous pours, but Corkbuzz in Chelsea market is better wine at half the price.)The service is also lacking: not bringing a fresh glass is fine at a casual wine bar, but not at $38. ... and wait staff didn’t bother to clear the table of used glasses. This is just lazy.Overall mixed: special, but flawed.
This wine bar is excellent. The staff are absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable. Each time we go it is better than the last.Their wine list is exclusively Swiss wines and they offer a flight, which is a really fun way to try a bunch of different wine. We always get the chefs selection meat and cheese plate and each item that is included is really very high quality. Delicious!
Weve been looking for really good fondue in NYC, and now weve found it. Very cute, attractive comfortable place with exposed beams and friendly efficient service. The Swiss wines were good and interesting. We had an excellent salad with hard boiled egg and cubes of cheese and roast potato and walnuts. The salad was well thought out, excellent ingredients, and a generous portion -- we split it for two and it was nearly too much. Then we had the Assemblage fondue and it was very tasty and perfectly prepared. Served with little tomatoes, radishes, gherkins, pickles, potatoes and scallions. And excellent crusty bread. This will be our go-to fondue restaurant from now on, so glad that we found it.
It was such a lovely experience. I cant remember the last time I had fondue, but I wouls definitely go back just for it haha. Staff was so nice and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely. The chocolate mousse was so delcious! Ive honestly never had that great of a chocolate mousse before.
Had such a nice experience. I ordered a charcuterie appetizer and it was so good!! The ambiance was beautiful and the staff was beautiful. Only sad thing was they closed the kitchen without doing last Call so I never got to put my entree in, but I will definitely return to try some more!
WOW! This place is absolutely incredible! Having visited Switzerland several times I can honestly say this is a 100% authentic Swiss dining experience! Our group of 5 spent almost 6 hours dining and drinking (in classic Swiss fashion we took our time). The owners have their own vineyard in the Lavaux region of Switzerland and import their own wines of which we sampled several of the Chasselas (including the Dezaley Grand Pertuis which was out of this world!). The mixed charcuterie board was fantastic, the Raclette was amazing, the Creation fondue (classic gruyere and vacherin) was as authentic as any fondue Ive had in Switzerland, and the chocolate mousse dessert was ridiculously good. The service was incredible and the staff are all extremely knowledgeable and kind. We will definitely be coming back to sample the other fondue options and, of course, more of the incredible Swiss wines!
I went here with my husband on Valentine’s Day lunch .. the staff is very warm and welcoming … the food options are limited but the fondues are delicious… they have a great wine menu for people who like to experiment with wines .. definitely not an everyday restaurant when it comes to price point but I would highly recommend it for special occasions
The fondue, food and wine was absolutely spectacular. I havent found anywhere else like this in NYC and I cant wait to return again soon. We came here for outdoor dining on one of the coldest winter days in NYC and we had an amazing time! The outdoor section blocked the wind and the heat lamps were nice and warm. The service was great too! Must try.
I am in love. Admittedly, Im no fondue expert—this was my first real experience (excluding chocolate fountains at corporate events)—but everything I had was simply mind-blowing.You have a choice of a number of fondue types from classical gruyere to more the more exotic porcini mushroom-infused. We were feeling spicy and decided to get the Poivre du Vignoble which has Sichuan peppercorns. Holy smokes, this was the best decision ever. Each fondue comes with bread and a small platter of vegetables including potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and pickles. We were a little skeptical about the pickles, but they ended up being delicious dipped in cheese. I do wish they had given us some more variety or choices of what to dip, but it was plenty for 3 people. The wine list is extensive, but we went with rose because summer. Service was lovely. And the space is warm and cozy, evoking a Swiss chalet. You can see them making the fondue at the back of the restaurant, and you can book the little ski gondola at the front for a romantic date.
What a gem!Wines are wonderful, we tried a couple of Chasselas…The cheese and charcuterie plates are perfect and the steak tartare is really amazing.I know very well Switzerland and the Lavaux Wine Bar did not disappoint.Plus Eddy the host is super friendly and full of good recommendations!Great find!On a passé une super soirée, à bientôt!
The best Cheese Fondue I had in NY (and maybe in France) so far. Amazing flavor and texture.Their wine selection from Switzerland is ideal for this kind of meal.We will come back soon for the new additions to their menu and their upcoming upgraded Apres-ski outdoor area!
Amazing experience! Im Swiss, I did try the fondue and it was really authentic and with the taste that Im used to.The wine was also really good. I recommend taking some to be able to have a real taste of the amazing Swiss wines. The employees are really friendly and ready to answer to any question or request.Bon appétit :)
All very good food and wine and service ..good screens between tables not 6 ft apart.. HOWEVER...seating in a freezing mostly unheated poorly constructed space ...and Covid prices ...e.g. small 24 oz bowl of hot punch ($70) , even more ridiculously priced Fondu pot with bread and vegetables for 4 ($160). Tip suggestions on bill start at 20%. So if you want and are willing to pay 2x for different..great.
We had the fondue here, which was good....I just wish they had more options to go with the fondue, especially meat items. We got some bread, pickles, radishes, and potatoes to dip into our fondue. I am not a fan of pickles and they were placed on top of the potatoes. They very graciously brought more potatoes that had not been tainted by the pickles. I did also wish the potatoes had been seasoned a bit.Our server was attentive and the experience itself was great!!
What can I say .... all great! The very kind and prepared waiter, the food and the service deserve a very good one in its own right! We dined in the gondola, to have this place booked much earlier. The fact remains that I will definitely return even if this special place is not available. Average prices for Manhattan.

2022-05-17We had brunch right outside the place and had a great time. The food was delicious - especially the steak tartare. The salad that came with it was very fresh and had a great balance of flavor and texture.I have to also mention that the bread on both of these dishes was so good. Nice and crispy but not overly toasted. The waiter was very delightful and recommended us a good wine to go with the meal.

2022-03-12It was an amazing experience. We felt like we’re in a Swiss Chalet. Cheese are incredibly delicious. Wine is perfectly matched with cheese and fondue. Pickles were unnecessary but potato and tomatoes go perfect with fondue cheese. Highly recommend place 💯

2022-06-09If you come here on a weekday, you have pretty good chance to get a gondola, even without the reservation.Definitely order cheese fondue. The prices can seem pretty high, but food is delicious so its worth it.

2022-05-30I give a 4 star because less just doesn’t feel right, but buyer beware for what they offer it is overpriced by 2x.Now - the experience was great, live music was a plus. Everything we had was very well prepared and Swiss apparent. Obviously wine was great, mostly all from Switzerland - a unique experience to say the least. The fondue was created and prepared well with a unique Swiss flair.Overall I’d recommend it.

2022-02-13I came to this place with my wife to celebrate Valentine’s day. The place has great ambience, lovely interiors, polite and friendly staff and delicious food.Don’t miss their truffle fondue and Swiss wines. The prices are a bit on higher side but if you’re planning to spend the day with your special one, this is a wonderful way to surprise them!!

2021-05-05A little bit of Switzerland in NYC! The quintessential Swiss Fondue dish was delicious! The steak tartare was yummy! This wine bar has wonderful wine options! Service was great! Around the corner from the meat packing! Close to the blue and red subway line (14th street station). Definitely recommend this wine bar and you have to order the fondue!!

2022-05-15A wonderful Swiss dining experience here in NYC. The service is impeccable. Everyone at the Lavaux takes the time to introduce you to the food and wine, which is quite special given that everything comes from Switzerland. Its an immersive and intimate experience dining here. The wine is honestly the best wine Ive ever had - so smooth and silky. Im normally a fan of red wine but their chasselas are hard to beat! The fondue too is just amazing. They know what theyre doing here. Good vibes all around from the friendly staff and the upbeat music playing. You are treated like a special guest every time you enter the Lavaux. Will definitely be coming back!
