I go to Penny Lane often, often enough that I can tell you that their lunches are just as great as their night time entertainment. Their flatbreads are to die for and their unique atmosphere and decor is delightful and will keep you looking for all the little details. They are also great for private events and parties like the one I attended last night. Fantastic service and such great fun.
Had a wonderful little brunch here today. We came in just under a half hour before close without realizing and despite that our server was extremely accommodating and friendly. She had great drink suggestions and the piano bread was delicious!! The atmosphere was gorgeous with plenty to look at and great music. I will definitely be back!!!!!! 💜💜💜
We went to the all new Penny Lane Cafe today and it was delicious! Fresh and healthy options. The owner/manager was friendly and the service was great. The atmosphere was fun with colorful lights and they advertised that there is live music there frequently. Would definitely recommend!
Penny Lane Cafe is an every season experience . A Beatles themed bar and restaurant that has live music, an ever changing menu, and amazingly unique atmosphere and amazing staff and owner. Hang out at the bar made of penny’s , enjoy the collection of rolling stone wallpaper , sit by the fire on the patio or hang out In the “octopuses garden” courtyard. This place is well worth the trip!
I don’t know what happened but Penny Lane is only a shadow of its former self. The courtyard is empty. The artwork is gone! It’s like the soul of the place died! What was once a gathering place is an empty shell. I hadn’t been there in a while and I’m sorry I went back. It was so sad to see how this place has declined. I’m only guessing but I suspect Ann Valby doesn’t own it anymore. She would never have allowed this to happen.
Slowly on the decline I asked for a different cup due to soap in my coffee and instead of just saying ok and making the customer feel better I was told the gentleman next to me didnt complain so neither should I. She claimed the pump makes the bubbles well I have served myself coffee from that same pump in that same restaurant and never had an inch of bubbles in my cup! I sent the coffee back and had a water should have walked out then but I worked about a 20 hour shift and was starving I ordered a chicken sandwich but it was not the same as the last time I had it very dry 😣 but I choked it down due to again I was starving. I hope my next visit is better I truly do love going their when I have time. The decor and good food keeps me as a repeat customer next time I hope its worth my visit and hard earned dollars.
Cool surprise! I have been driving past Penny Lane Cafe for a long time and finally stopped in with some workmates for lunch. Such a cool ambiance, great food selections, friendly service, and unique beverages - Lavender water is worth the stop alone! And any place that plays Bowie is worth 5 stars. Check it out! Youll love it!
The atmosphere and decor is fun and interesting and unexpected. Our waitress was courteous, prompt and friendly. The food is very good also. However, the bartender last night was, apparently, either inexperienced or just doesnt know what shes doing. Two drinks had to be sent back because they were incorrectly made. That frustrated me as well as our waitress. Other than that issue, I really like the place. Also, the music provided by The Skiffle Minstrels was fun and very well done!
Wonderful! Penny Lane Cafe is more than a great place to get something to eat or drink. It is a wonderful experience. From the fantastic decor, the warm and friendly staff, the good food&drinks to the band that played great songs of the 60s and 70s( they were excellent). What a fantastic way to enjoy your Sunday afternoon or any other time they are open. Just wonderful!
Super cool. Rare find. Ambiance: If you came of age in the late 60s/early 70s, you will feel right at home. Food: Fun menu with some extra-tasty twists. Loved the cauliflower crust flat bread. My husband said the bacon on his BLT was particularly good -- thick sliced and very crispy.
Cute atmosphere. ...if you are into collective hippy. A little over priced. Small cold menu only. Live music in court yard was nice. Service was the pits. Very nice just no experience which lead to waiting for everything she forgot. There were blankets used as tablecloths that were dirty! Maybe placing a piece of glass over the top to be able to clean would be a better idea. I had a turkey BLT on rye. It was fine. Nothing fancy. Would I make a special trip to go there again.....NO.
Iced coffee was excellent, very relaxing chill outdoor seating. Everything else not worth it for the price...magic mushroom panini was very bland didnt realize it came with chips until I looked at the menu at home, day tripper salad didnt have bacon on it and the dressing was Italian or some house concoction, and the server seemed like she didnt want to be there.
Great blast from the 60s past. The life band was quite exceptional as was the late sixties decor; almost like going back to Chicagos Old Town district during its heyday! Thought the 5 dollar cover was a little steep but they said it was to help support the great.band. Well worth a good and unique experience!
Exceeded expectations! Food is fresh and lovingly prepared, the atmosphere is home-y and inviting, overall very impressed and will be making this a regular date night hang out... They have open mike Wednesdays! Can I just say the the owners a cool cat? I think so! Lastly we have yet to check out the crystal shop situated in the same plaza as penny Lane but a stop after dinner is on the menu! Theres also a cbd shop on the left to tie in this commune-ity and I can only imagine what the outdoor space must be like in the warm weather! Love, love, love!
Food was excellent, decor super interesting, lots to look at, just an overall a very nice experience! And I would recommend it as a definite stop for breakfast!Only thing detractions were that coffee was not hot, and I had to set side a free copy before finding a clean one. If clean cops, silverware, etc. is your thing, then definitely take the orange color--you cant see whats inside the black ones, and based on my personal experience and preference, Id not want to drink from the ones I set aside.
So in posting my first-ever Google review I begin at Penny Lane; on this date night with my wife I thought we had entered a time portal to Ithaca or San Francisco...so while its atmosphere may come out of left field (no pun intended) to first time customers, you will not leave disappointed. Kayla our waitress was great, and our drinks from the bar, appetizers (lobster bisque soup that was second to none), main courses, and desserts (amazing made from scratch brownie topped with Southern apple pie ice cream!) were really good. They even have on-site campfires out front where you can toast marshmallows! A very fun date night place with friendly staff. We will definitely be back!
If the hippy setting is for you with tapestrys and such, then this is your type of scene. The service is good and inside is a cute little shop/restaurant/bar. The food matches the service and the attitude. Been here for a while, and they play live music on certain days. My friend plays here and the attitude of the crowd is great even if you are not the best at what youre doing.
How to describe Penny Lane? I personally absolutely adore this quirky little hidden gem! Its hippy dippy vibe (said lovingly) might not be for everyone, and you have to arrive not expecting your standard restaurant experience. The service is quite casual. You might have to walk up to the bar yourself and get your own drinks for the table, you have to seat yourselves as well....but somehow (and its a mystery to me) they always notice new people have arrived and eventually take your orders.I have been here several times over three years. Breakfast twice, lunch once, and tonight was my 4th dinner. You may have to wait a bit longer (remember the tempering expectations?) for your food to come out, but my goodness is it worth the wait! The pesto piano bread is to die for! We also enjoyed the pastini tonight which is a giant sized martini glass filled with pasta of your choice, (we chose linguini with alfredo and grilled chicken), it was delicious and could have easily fed 4 adults. They also offer live music many nights, a tiny adorable gelato cart, self-serve soup, and a lovely little self-serve coffee station. The prices are very reasonable in my opinion, and a trip here just to view the intricate, creative, artsy decor is worth it.Once again Penny Lane did not disappoint, and I will definitely be back!
Went tonight to enjoy a nice night with friends listening to Mike Criscione. Unfortunately the entire evening was ruined by a drunk woman at the bar. She was loud and when asked to quiet down she gave us the finger, shouted F off and mooned us!!Brought it to bartenders attention and she did nothing. She actually joked with her about our complaint. We will never return. Place has gone down hill. Find another place to enjoy music and a beverage.
Really disappointing. All atmosphere no flavor. Went for dinner with my wife. Tuna wrap was somehow flavorless. Lettuce, tuna, mayo, tomato. No seasoning. I got the Buffalo Soldier burger ordered medium well. The burger itself came mushy and was red and pink throughout. The bleu cheese dressing on the burger may have been bad as it tasted like nail polish remover (you know, how tastes and smells are similar). They said they had a new menu but they didnt seem to take the time to learn it. My wife told the waitress she was supposed have chips with her wrap. The waitress said, I could get you some of you want like it was a favor for my wifes misunderstanding (the menu clearly stated that chips came with wrap). I know other restaurants get very busy and make an error sometimes but they had only two tables besides us. Overheard someone else ask for the special. They said they were out. It was 5:00 pm. Dinner just started. Im not sure how they ran out. Poor planning.
Great place! Went for dinner and stayed for the music. The menu has a nice selection, theres something to please everyone, from salads and sandwiches to entrees. I had the Notorious F.I.G. flatbread and it was delicious! Gave a taste to everyone at the table and they agreed. I highly recommend you order this taste of perfection. Hubby had the veggie wrap and was very happy with his selection. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the decor is a feast for your eyes! I had heard it was Beatles inspired but I would say someone bought out a CD warehouse, not in a bad way though, really you have to see it to appreciate it. I would reccomend you give this place a try!
Went last night to watch talented independent musical artists – the night degenerated into John Valby blasting his form of degenerate deprived pornographic garbage lounge music that is more attractive to deprived glue sniffing eighth graders then a mellow crowd. This venue could be a gold mine but as it exists it is more like great Thai food made with road kill – they need to pick a direction and separate art from drunken sexual depravity .

2022-01-19I had my daughters Tropical Disco Chic Bridal Shower at The Lion and Eagle Pub, and it was nothing short of fantastic! This place is great! The atmosphere is chill and super cool, the decor is on trend. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making the customers happy is their main priority. We were amazed from the Mimosa Bar to the food buffet. The quality and taste of everything was outstanding and the presentation was amazing. I cant say enough about the entire staff. The owners Simon and Brie, the fantastic chef, Sam, and wonderful bartender Susie were all so attentive, anything we asked for was no problem. At night, the bar comes alive with live music to enjoy along with fabulous food and drinks. We are so thrilled that we chose to have our celebration at The Lion and Eagle Pub!

2022-02-12Wonderful! The new owners are fantastic. We had my niece’s bridal shower at The Lion and Eagle Pub last month and it was amazing. Simon and his wife, along with Sam (chef) and Susie (bartender) were all so accommodating and easy to work with from the planning stage to the big day. The food buffet, prepared by chef Sam, was delicious. So many commented on how good it all was, especially her Chicken Gnocchi soup! There was something for everyone to enjoy including the incredible Mimosa Bar which included several juices and a variety of fruit to choose from which made it fun for all the guests. We received rave reviews during and after the shower on how delicious everything was. The Lion and Eagle Pub is a great venue with a fun vibe. We stayed and listened to live music which they have regularly. Go check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

2022-05-20We were driving around looking for a place for lunch and came across this place. Friendly as soon as we walked in and were seated. The owner came over to us introduced himself and chatted about the place telling us all about the music lineup and how they took it over. Had a great lunch and will definitely be back!!

2022-06-26Terrible, ordered our food and got the wrong food, sandwich was dry as a bone and burger was burnt even though I ordered it medium. Waitress barely waited on us as she was standing around talking to people at different tables.

2021-08-27Cool little Cafe during the day, and cool relaxing bar at night. One of the few places that do live music. They have a nice beer and liquor section, and chilled atmosphere.

2022-06-15Just visited with friends on Saturday, and we all loved it! Great atmosphere, the art all around the room and lights on the ceiling were so neat. Friendly waitress and accommodating for all the kids we had with us. The menu has a great concept with song titles like the Savoy Truffle flatbread pizza, which was so delicious! Cant wait to go back and try more on the menu and see a band play! My only suggestion would be to add more lighting to the outside of the building, almost looks closed when youre walking up.
